love how the fandom has kinda healed about the destiel confession scene. like it's still sad and everything but I remember when it first came out a lot of people hated it. and sorry to say that but a lot of them had such narrow-minded opinions on it, oh lord. like the whole narrative that dean didn't react to it at all/didn't reciprocate or that jensen hates destiel etc. (also the birth of the confession meme actually)
and that really overshadowed the amazing, poetic, beautifully delivered speech of cas/misha.
I'm just glad we can enjoy that now.

Why do Black People in America believe Jesus was a white man?
There are many reasons why Black people believe in a White Jesus after being enslaved in America. One reason is that enslaved people were often forced to convert to Christianity by their white masters. Christianity was used as a tool to justify slavery and to keep enslaved people in line. Enslaved people were taught that Jesus was a white man who loved them and would one day free them from their bondage. This message of hope was important to enslaved people, and it helped them to endure the hardships of slavery.
Another reason why Black people believe in a White Jesus is because of the images of Jesus that they were exposed to. In the United States, the most common image of Jesus is a white man with long flowing hair and blue eyes. This image is often used in churches, on television, and in movies. It is an image that has been created by white people, and it reflects their own cultural biases.
Tumblr media
However, it is important to remember that Jesus was not white. He was a Middle Eastern Jew, and he would have had olive skin and dark hair. The image of Jesus as a white man is a product of European colonialism and racism. It is an image that has been used to oppress and marginalize Black people.
Tumblr media
It is important for Black people to reclaim their own image of Jesus. We need to create images of Jesus that reflect our own culture and our own experiences. We need to create images of Jesus that are beautiful and powerful and that speak to our hearts. We need to create images of Jesus that remind us that we are loved and that we are worthy of love.

I'm convinced Mythbusters needs a reboot. Misinformation or mythinformation if you will, is at an all time high. We NEED the show that promotes critical thinking to come back. It doesn't need the same cast, in fact I think it would be better with some fresh faces. Imagine all the good it would do if you could just show your crazy uncle the Mythbusters reboot episode that debunks his anti-vaxx conspiracy in an easily digestible and entertaining format.

This site: What the fuck is with all these animated shows getting terrible live-action remakes? We should start remaking live action media as cartoons to balance the scales.

The exception is cheesy local commercials. Those should be the only ads. I will listen to someone who runs a store in my city doing an awkward rap. We once had a furniture store with these awful CGI ads and the slogan "where the deals are so low, it's almost criminal!" and then they got shut down, by the cops, because it turned out. It turned out the deals were so low because. You're not going to believe this but the prices were so low it was in fact

Another source: NBC News 'What you need to know about the SAG-AFTRA actors strike', posted July 13 2023
oh it's going down
Along with stepping away from all film and television productions worldwide, actors will not be permitted to take part in promotional work of any kind, including press junkets, film premieres, and fan events like San Diego Comic-Con.
Sources also say that SAG-AFTRA has informed publicists that any scheduled press or acting work after a strike is ordered must be cancelled. SAG-AFTRA members are also not permitted to promote any work on social media, as that is considered publicity.
Actors are permitted to attend the pop culture convention as long as they don’t take part in any panels that promote a specific film or television show or discuss any current or future work. While attendance is allowed, individuals with knowledge of the publicist meeting tell TheWrap that SAG-AFTRA would prefer that its members completely skip the event [SDCC] later this month.
