Elon buying twt sealed its grave, there was no doubt abt it but i was def one of those "i go down w my ship" people bc thats STILL my biggest acc by a LONG SHOT and i had made WAY too many great memories and friends to let it go. up until literally today, my priv twt OctoIsYelling is STILL essentially a massive groupchat for me an my friends in an acc form, interactive and communicative while still letting me be in my own page. its better than insta or tumblr in that sense and it was PERFECT before it went to shit

but now the site genuinely barely functions man. its slow and laggy and reloads constantly and eats my battery worse than SKY COTL. AN ACHEIVEMENT. the app just refuses to work at all if i have my phone plugged in for whatever reason and idk how to fix it. i thought it was a me problem for so long until 1 post talking abt it changed everything. like it GENUINELY DOESNT WORK. and it SUCKS. its plauged with adds for a subscription that no one reasonable would pay for and straight up hard alt-right politics. the bots are outrageous like its sooo bad its so bad i havent opened my dms on public acc in at least a yr. sorry if anyone tried to get ahold of me. the algorithm that used to be like at least half decent is now ALL doom and bait and SHIT, its not even rlly worth it to try n cultivate ur spaces now bc no matter what shit u dont want is being pushed in ur face. the transphobia is so unbelievably bad, and while ive done my best to fix my tl its still so ass. - modern!au

- (headcanon) pony knows how to skateboard and is trying to teach paul and Chet (Chet keeps falling, bro has like 74953 bruises)

- where paul hasn’t beat up pony but like knows of ppl that do (after becoming closer w pony him and Chet make a pact to not hurt anymore greasers)

- paul and pony definitely do workouts in the summer (paul has his college packet of football workouts) and pony runs the track to keep in shape for the szn

- pony loves to infodump to paul about his fav books (also i headcanon that pony loves music as well!) and paul listens intently bc he too loved reading and used it as an escape before he found his love of football

- pony Loves playing rdr2 (he loves the scenery and Arthur’s character as a whole!!!)

- Paul has a big ass house (obvi. rich boy) and he has a redone basement that has a pool table and pony is so fucking good at pool and Chet & paul are like ???? And pony just shrugs and smiles “it’s just math guys!”

honestly... idk.

I have an art instagram that i remember to update maybe every two months. I really don't like using it, but I'll make more of an effort if people will be going over there. Part of it is that family and my former art professors follow me there, so I'm not as comfortable going stupid crazy on there lol.

I also have an art twitter I use even less. I deleted tiktok for my own sanity. My portfolio website is down as I'm moving away from Wix but that will be up hopefully in a few months again. Going forward I'm gonna try to post my art on Patreon so that anyone can view it as well.

Part of the reason I'm hesitant to move is I have a community here that's been built up over years. It might not be massive, but it's mutuals and friends and people that I've gotten to know over the years. There's a culture here I really love, from the tagging system to the way people interact with things to the fact that tumblr is a little more underground so I don't have to worry about my family or coworkers stumbling onto my shit. I can't go insane about video games or bad movies or actium on other platforms the same way I can here, it just simply makes me too uncomfortable. And honestly, I don't really want to move if my little community and my friends won't come with me, ya know? The reason I'm even comfortable sharing my art and thoughts here is bc people have eased me into doing it. This is kind of the one place I'm not a totally anxious mess and that I actually have some unearned confidence lol.

Sooo.. tbd? I should just bite the bullet and grab handles on bluesky and cohost, but the thought kind of makes my skin crawl. Maybe I'll make a private twitter for my stream of consciousness. Maybe I'll make an honest to god mailing list and just email people my art, or I'll make a silly website. Who knows!
