Yknow I’m finishing the last 2 episodes of HoT tonight & am prepared to either go straight into the Oni Trilogy afterwards but there’s something about Episode 8 that I wanted to note!

(( Long rambles abound ))

I think I’ve heard a few people describe Kai’s behavior as very much jumping to conclusions when he faces off against Ray with knowledge of his parents’ alleged betrayals — and I do 100% agree Kai tends to be brash. Versus Nya’s behavior, in holding Kai back to get him to listen to their father.

But I think from the perspective of both Kai, it kinda makes sense why!

Like for Nya, since she likely wasn’t old enough at the time to directly know their parents, it’s understandable she’d want to her out her father because this is the first time she’s honestly seen or heard from him.

On the other hand, Kai’s personally grown up with both parents while he’s at an age to be conscious of his need for them & attachment as a young child who misses them. There’s a LOT of trauma in realizing your parents weren’t gone the whole time, that they were out there and just left you behind to do something else — something that wasn’t what happened but very much so was skewed to appear so. So likely the thought going through his mind would be ‘You weren’t there for us when we needed in order to do things for the people actively harming us?’ I thought that might be interesting to note.

We got a super nifty fight scene out of that so I’ll add that to my collection of cool Kai moments lololol.

Other HoT ending notes:

- The fusion dragon was absolutely EPIC! And a boiling sea that works with a master of fire & master of water???! That’s such a neat concept!!! These things make me wished that the season could’ve been implemented better bc HoT had such huge potential (I prob won’t criticize anything tho cause I feel other people wrote a lot over the flaws more eloquently!).

- Ray and Maya were pretty great for the short time they were there, but I have really mixed feelings on bringing them back. It was such a huge part of the beginnings for awhile — the siblings starting off alone in the Pilots, Chen holding the backstories of Kai’s parents over himself, then finally both siblings grieving in DotD with a beautiful scenes & the foreshadowing of their parents’ backstories when Kai wonders if they’ll ever figure out what happened. All of that was just implemented so well!

I heard alternate ideas proposed from those who thought the set up for an arc where Ray & Maya were actually evil would give a lot to explore. That’d definitely be interesting for sure!

But of my own personal preferences, I really liked them being on the good side but the issue stemming from a distortion of perspective obscuring the actual events & intention. And just overall the idea of them being dead but the story being years later, where Kai & Nya get to the bottom of things and unwrap what actually happened. Now that they’re back, and it might be hard for the show to fit them into the plot when they’re established as extremely important.

In a sense, I kind of worry about getting that same feeling for Lord/Sensei Garmadon the next season too. I already know what happens so I’m just bracing myself for it >~<.

Lastly, for the next season:

I can’t wait to finally get to watch the things I’m curious about the most!

In a jumbled list — I really want to see the implementation of Pixal as the new Samurai X, Skylor’s reappearance & role (& just more into how her powers work if she uses them!), the arc with Sensei Wu developing with the ninja, Nya-Lloyd dynamic, Karloff returning (omg - I LOVE them bringing back other elemental masters!!), and the Mr. E rivalry with Zane (the Echo Zane theories I’ve read are so exciting!!!).

I’m a bit scared though because the Kai character assassinations begin along with this marking the point of many people not being able to see Garmadon the same again :(. So I hope the good skill of the writers makes up for that bc I know this show does a lot with all of the elements surrounding it!

Aaaaaaa I have so many thoughts my brain won’t let me sleep 😭

My thoughts on Seabound!!! 🌊🌊🌊 (1/4)

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Finally Nya's season! Our queen, our water goddess, our amazing girl gets what she deserves! 😍😍😍

What I know about the season beforehand is that Nya's powers apparently are getting problematic for some reasons? Which is a pretty common topic in other shows but it's a first in Ninjago, usually the elemental powers don't have focus and I LOVE that we now get to see stuff like that 💕💕💕

I know there should be Wojira involved, trusting The Island to deliver that little foreshadowing at the end of the episode 🤷‍♀️ Also Maya is back... MAYA IS FINALLY BACK AFTER SEVEN SEASONS YES!!! 😭😭😭

I have nothing else to say, I have no idea what this will bring, hopefully something as good as Master of the Mountain! 🖤

GENERAL THOUGHTS

Warning reader, I might be fangirling to an extreme because I love mah girl Nya and I've been wanting Kai and Nya's parents to be back ever since Hands of Time ended. So yeah... screaming alert 😅

At this point I don't doubt that the intro is great, we reached such a level of animation and we got The Fold 😍😍 Love the marine vibe and how it's similar to The Island, because it's a great intro 👌

NOW I like the writing! Maybe they rushed the dialogue's quality for The Island to get here? It's just fun and in character, maybe it's just me but I'm enjoying it a lot for now

How many episodes are in this? Wiki says ten, then I checked again and it's sixteen like with Master of Mountain... eh, it looks good so far so it's fine whatever happens 🤷‍♀️

Also this scene makes a lot of sense. Nya grew up to be indipendent, one that succeed in most of stuff without problems, she built her life without any help and doesn't look for it. Kai grew up more insecure, he got some walls up but loves to take care of others and be taken care of. With a childhood lost he looks forward to a bit of softness ❤❤

Maya looks more calm now, I think she's trying to act more reasonable and she's got good points 👍 I know people were a little weirded out by how more cheerful she looks in comparison to Hands of Time, but I think she gets the most serious and rational when time needs. That's actually fascinating of her 🤔

Ninjago Crystalized E13 - E21 thoughts

I was gonna say liveblog but is it really live if I post it all later?

Ended up rambling about some bits so while this is mostly lighthearted, don’t read if you’re not in the mood for ninjago criticism

EP 13

tbh I watched the chinese dub of this before the english so i’m not paying that much attention, especially since i’m not a fan of bringing harumi back.

i’m pretty sure everyone else has more coherent thoughts on that whole thing, i’m just meh about it at this point

EP 14

JAY WAS A MODEL TRAINS PERSON OF COURSE HE WAS

lloyd thinking harumi killed the others honestly doesn’t hit for me, they already did this at the end of season 8 and had lloyd refuse to give in to anger like her so doing this now...

like i know they did it so lloyd could go evil but his anger doesn’t even feel believable because he gets to that stage literally in the matter of seconds. it's like "ok we're doing the evil oni thing and this needs to happen now"

the star wars inspiration really shows here, harumi is basically trying to get lloyd to join the dark side like the end of the first trilogy lool

EP 15

kai is being a bit more of a leader here, keeping a level head and pointing out ideas to get themselves out

REVENGE!!! part of me is annoyed that aspheera has just been relegated to meme status but i also kinda love it

ok the action is actually amazing in this season, compare the fight choreography and the animation with the first seasons. it’s so much more dynamic!

i love that zane is the guy to suggest word games, i don’t know why but it fits so well with his kind of humour

okay this moment where they all think they’re gonna get crushed under the rubble together... cole struggling to hold it knowing full well he can’t save his family, cole and kai looking at each other, jay saying it’s okay... it doesn’t feel like a fakeout death because it’s done from their perspective and shows how they react in such no-win situations. it’s also almost like they’ve kind of been expecting this to happen some day and they’ve just been lucky until now. lots to unpack.

that being said i feel like at this point they should have the power to go full on sicko mode with their elements, like cole should be able to go all glowy-eyed and save everyone. or maybe i just want them to go huge with their powers more often. probably that :P

wait is this not the first time they’ve had the chance to stop and talk to nya properly since she came back? shouldn’t this be a bigger moment? just thinking back to how nya was unconscious when they got her back, we never got a big emotional hug moment y’know?

how many times has the monastery or bounty been destroyed at this point?

ngl idk why lloyd is so adamant on trying to get harumi to see the light, after the oni trilogy and him getting beaten up by garmadon while trying to appeal to his good side, you’d think he wouldn’t have so much faith in her? idk i feel like lloyd was supposed to learn that seeing the best in people can sometimes hurt you and you have to let them go (and then maybe learn that it’s also a strength after being too distrustful of akita or vania for example), so this doesn’t really fit with that growth.

Big Brother AU

It was a beautiful day in Paris as a young couple, Tom and Sabine Dupen-Cheng, look for somebody to work in their bakery

They needed the extra help because they were expecting their first child

They didn't require any experience

They would be more than happy to train the new employee

This ad caught the eye of young Jared Stone

A young American looking to start is music career in Paris

But was having a bit of a problem getting started

At this point he was desperate for any job he could get

So he walked into the bakery with his baby alligator Fang with all the cofindince he could muster and begged for the job

Let's just say Tom and Sabine instantly adopted the poor boy who was down on his luck

It was decided that they would train him in all things backing and because they believed in his dream they let him play his music on Friday nights

And Fang would become the new Mascot of the bakery.

He was still a little guy at this point

Their relation ship grew closer as the months past and Sabine's stomach grew in size

Tom became the supportive father that Jared never had and Sabine became his doting mother even though they were only 8 years older than him

Jared actually became a pretty good baker

Tom would often joke that if music doesn't work out for him he'll always have a job as a Baker.

Jared actually created a whole new cake design that look like Fang

It became a best seller

Especially with young boys

Jared was there when the baby started to kick for the first time

His eyes grew in size as he felt the little life move around inside

He was also there when Sabine's water broke

Both men freaked the fuck out

Jared: WHAT DO WE DO!????!!!

Tom: STAY CALM WE NEED TO GET THE BAG..... WHERE'S THE BAG?!?!?!?!

Sabine is all calm just walks out and gets in the car

Sabine: *honk* *honk* Are you guys coming or not?

Both men looked at each other before rushing into the car

Jared made sure to grab Fang on his way out

Jared wasn't allowed in the delivery room (partially because of the baby crocadile) so he had to wait outside pacing in the waiting room

Poor Sabine was in labor for hours

But it was all worth it once her beautiful daughter Marinette was brought into the world

Tom came out with the biggest smile on his face

Tom: Would you like to meet you little sister

Jared eyes started to tear up

That was the first time Tom acknowledged their father son relationship put loud

Jared: Of course

When Jared walked into the room Sabine was holding little Marinette in her arms

Tom gently took Fang out of Jared's hands

Sabine: Do you want to hold her?

Jared could only nod his head as he walk over the Sabine

She gently placed the new born baby in the young man's arms

Jared looked down at the big pair of blue bell eyes that stared back at him.

Tom: Her name's Marinette

Jared held out a finger to the baby in his arms

Jared: Hello Marinette

Marinette giggled and grabbed onto his finger and he was gone

He was wrapped around her finger

As Marinette grew so did her relationship with Jared

His name was her first word

Well almost

Sabine: Tom! Jared! Come here! I think Marinette's about to say her first word!

The two men rushed over to Sabine and Marinette

Sabine: Come on baby you can do it.

Marinette: J- J-Ja-Ja

Tom: is her first word going to be Jared?

Jared: Ha I knew it would be! Come on Marinette say it, say Jared.

Marinette: Jagged!!!

Marinette said reaching her hands out to him

Tom/Sabine/Jared: WHAT?!?!

Marinette: Jagged! Jagged! Jagged!

Marinette continue to say while reaching out for Jared

Tom: *laughing* Well you were kinda right Jared.

They all had a good laugh about it in the end, and Jared actually thought the name Jagged would be a great rock'n'roll name

It became his nickname and everybody started to call him Jagged full time

Marinette became really close to Fang

The 2 were basically growing up together so of course they were close

As Marinette grew older Jagged gave her the nickname Little Mouse (a/n: who know where I got this from)

Jagged was discovered when Marinette was 5

One Friday night a young manger named Penny came into the bakery hearing great things about their Friday night act

As soon as she heard his first song she new Jagged Stone would be the next big thing in music

She wanted no time getting him signed up with her company

She was right he became an over night sensation

Tom and Sabine could not be broader of their boy

They always new he would make it

Marinette was also happy for her big brother

His dreams are coming true

But she missed seeing him everyday

Jagged also missed seeing his little mouse and his suragat parents

To try and curve it Jagged made sure to call them every night

They actually went to his first big concert

Marinette had to wear sound canceling headphones to protect her young ears

Jagged wrote a song dedicated to the Dupen-Chengs

It became his number one song and it continue to stay in that position years into his career

Through everything, all the tours, press conferences, and drama Jagged's family stayed with him through it all

You'd think the physical distance but between Jagged and the rest of his family would eventually tear them apart but it actually pulled them closer together

And because she was Jagged's manager Penny was also brought into the family

And she loved it

She love their dynamic

Sabine taught her how to bake a couple of their signature recipes

Marinette took to her almost immediately

Marinette: Oh you helped Jagged achieve his dream. You're part of the family now

Speaking of Marinette Jagged did his best to keep her out of the press

It wasn't that he wasn't proud to have her as a little sister he just wanted to protect her from the wolves that was the paparazzi

Because of Jagged's influence Marinette's style leaned more towards rock'n'roll

She still got into designing clothes and stuff but they had a bit more rock'n'roll in them

Not many people knew about Jagged's relationship with the small Parisian/Chinese family

He liked to keep his private life separate

He would usually stay with them when he was in Paris but as he got bigger that had to stop to protect them

So he started to stay at the hotel (a/n: I can't remember the name)

Okay here's the biggest change in this au

Marinette is not Ladybug

Adrien is

And Jagged is actually Chat Noir

Master Fu saw Jagged playing with Marinette one day in the park

And he thought back to the boy who he gave to ladybug miraculous to

That poor boy needed somebody like Jagged in his life

Jagged takes to being a super hero almost immediately

And he took Lady Beetle under his wing even faster.

Adrien and Jagged had more of s Father-Son relationship than a sibling one

Adrien was so happy because his father won't even give him the time of day

Something him and Jagged had in common

Jagged told Penny about his super hero Identity almost immediately

He had to

She plans everything so of course she needs to know about this

Jagged relationship with Plag is so awesome

They both are just natural disasters but some how they balance each other out

Penny is the voice of reason for both of them

Plag: Let's go bungee jump off the Eiffle Tower

Jagged: Yeah!!! Let's go!

Penny: NO!!!

Marinette and Adrien being best friends!!!

Like ligit best friends

They bond over their love of Jagged stone and their knowledge of Fashion

Picture Marinette and Adrien looking over a magazine and gossiping about the designer and models and discussing how the designs could have been better

On Career Day Marinette pretends to be really down about being a gofer because she knew that if Chloe thought that Marinette would even have a smidgen of fun she would make her dad give her something worst

As soon as the mayor leaves Marinette drops her act

Marinette: Hey Jagged what's up?

She then proceeds to plop down against Fang giving him a chin scratch

They spend the whole day talking while Marinette worked on the Eiffle Tower sunglasses he asked her to design last week

In Pixalator Jagged gets really mad at the fan because he took pictures of him and Marinette and was planning to put it all over the internet

Nobody can do that to his little sister

LUKANETTE

Yes Lukanette

They definitely bond over their love of music

Their relationship proceeds similarly as in the show without the Adrien drama

Because their just best friends in this one

Marinette spends a lot more time with Luka

They sometimes just spend hours at the time listening to music together

They're so comfortable together

They start to date after Silincer

Who could turn down a boy after he says this to you

Yeah nothing's going to top that

Jagged takes Kitty Section under his wing after this also

His excuse for knowing about them is that he heard Bob Ross' confession over the tv

After a month of dating Marinette told Luka about her relationship with Jagged Stone

It didn't change anything

Luka loved Marinette for Marinette not for her connections

Luka actually calls Marinette His Melody

She calls him Her Statue

Jagged gave Marinette the mouse miraculous

All because of his nickname for her

How could he pass up the chance to make his little mouse an actual little mouse

Omg when it's all over Jagged gathers all the miraculous holders to Adrien's house in the middle of the night and had Adrien let them in.

They stood outside of Gabriel's room banging pots and pans together yelling

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

For now, nothing to complain about! We got Nya, we got MAYA AND RAY, we got GILES PANTON BACK A LEGO SHOW!!! 😍😍😍

Of course now I'm definitely curious about what the story is really about, like I'm guessing Wojira will wake up at some point so... Great Devourer all over again maybe? 😅 Idk, for now I just wanna enjoy Nya having her moment 🥳

GENERAL THOUGHTS

New alert for reader, during the Nexo Knights period I was and still am the hugest Clay fan. Now that his voice is in this season I might scream more than necessary... keep that in mind 😅

I love the humor in this, all random but still kinda clever 😂😂 Maybe I'm biased because I love Jay but still 🤷‍♀️

I really like the design of the marine world, very cool!! 🌊🌊🌊

I guess I'm not really seeing any big plot twist moment for now? Ninjago seasons have history of basing seasons on a "we need to prevent this event from happening but it will happen anyway", so I can see Wojira waking up no matter what 🤷‍♀️

I wonder if that will be shocking? Usually when this situation happen, someone makes a major sacrifice (Zane with the Overlord, sensei Garmaron with Chen, again sensei G with the Preeminent...). Maybe Maya? I DON'T WANT THAT 😭 But I am curious, everything is going nicely and I'm not sure what it will bring! 🤩 I'M EXCITED SO LET'S GO!!!

THE WRATH OF KALMAAR

So this is the name of Clay's new incarnation, neat! 👍

Okay really, for having a season lately the main character just can't help but be trapped by the villain: kinda Zane in the ICE Chapter, Jay in Prime Empire, Cole in Master of the Mountain... we can call it a tradition at this point 🤷‍♀️

Giant serpent, yadda yadda, I wonder if we're gonna address the Great Devourer at some point? Not mandatory, but the reference would be very cool 🤩

Thinking journal for season 12 Prime Empire 😎😎😎 (2/2)

Here we go with the next part! I really hope we get some major big plot twist at some point, because it's all really cool but I need something to really change from good to GREAT

For now, let's focus on the next episodes!

It's the 17th of April and here we go!

GENERAL

I feel like there's little time to really pull up something, I don't know. Like, what plot twist could happen now that there just half season left with only Unagami/Dyer's identity and maybe Scott's past as mysteries? There's little space for more plotlines, that's what I think

Overall fighting scenes, character designs and game backgrounds are AWESOME!!

Let's see how it goes, maybe I'll be surprised. Wouldn't be weird for Ninjago to pull a bomb last episode 😅

ONE STEP FORWARD, TWO STEPS BACK

ZANE AND PIXAL FINALLY!!! IT'S DETECTIVE TIME!!! 😎

Okay, so there is a photo, and there is a friend. As I thought, Dyer might not be Unagami at all, I feel like there's a lot of backstory coming along. I wonder if Scott has a part in this... WHERE IS SCOTT 💙

NEVER MIND I LOVE IT 😍😍🔥🔥 I thought him being blonde was going to bother me, I actually kinda like the change. Still prefer my baby brunette, but it's really cool as well. The best of this season are definitely the characters designs

Was that "let's fight an ogre mission" a hint for next season? I wouldn't be weird, but it's been a while since I've seen forshadowing for new season in this show

HECK YEAH THE DANCING EPISODE!!! I was waiting for this, Jaya is so cute while they are on the dancefloor 😍 They have chemistry 😘😘😘

I like the implication that Nya was really bad at dancing before Jay, like Kai covering his eyes because he cannot handle her sister not being perfect at something 😛

And Cole being the dance expert, that little tango moment with Kai I bet made many lavashippers super happy 🖤❤🖤❤

Okay, I think my theory won't happen 😅 Feels like there are not enough episodes for a good reveal, and it doesn't seem like Scott is that influenced by Jay. My last idea is that perhaps he has spent so much time in the game like Jay said (POOR BABY 😭) that he doesn't remember. Maybe the moment he will come back, we will find out that it is Jay's brother/twin, I mean he still has those dragon and lightnings drawing on his back... yeah I like this theory a lot, gonna hold on to it!

So Scott is indeed a person trapped in a game, at least that's confirmed 👍

Also he's got some major issues, the poor thing, and I think there is some special reason behind him not wanting to race besides having just one life.

HERE IT COMES

OH MY GARMADON 😂😂😂 Okay, okay, it's actually better than I expected really. The scarf is cool, and so are the golden tattoos, the suit and the golden sleeve. It's just the mohawk that will take time to get used to, it's not even bad, just weird 🤷‍♀️

Racer Seven is so cool! Always nice seeing a new female character in this show that is not a love interest. I do love Nya, Pix and Sky to death, but I love variety too 💪

Really, really nice the piece of all Racer Seven's crashes! Impactful and sad, a never ending loop that she wants to break through from. That's the heavy stuff I like!

Okay, ready for the race! And I'm... scared? Like, a lot of they guys have one life?? KAI HAS ONE LIFE?? 😱😱 I hope for the best I guess 😅

THE SPEEDWAY FIVE-BILLION

Seven is SO COOL, it's another reason why I'm sad these episodes are so short! I really would had liked see her more, truly have her bond with the guys

Soooo... I guess since Scott's been in the game for 30 years it's safe to assume he's not Jay's brother/twin. To be fair it's really hard to tell a LEGO person's age😅 At this point I guess he could be either Dyer's friend, even if it sounds unlikely, or... idk, still think he could have a connection with Jay. Maybe he's like... an older brother? Libber had him a long while ago?

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WHY DID SCOTT HAVE TO DIEEEEEEEE??? 😭😭😭 Just when he was getting more involved, come on! He even said he wanted to try that hero stuff, I love him! WE WILL SAVE YOU MY TECH BABY!!!

Oh finally the backstory of Unagami I'm really curious about what happened in the past and what exactly brought the shut down of Prime Emp-

I LITERALLY CARE ABOUT NOTHING ELSE BUT THIS BEAUTIFUL GAMER BOY IN REAL LIFE!!! 😍😍😍😍😍

So Scott was the first beta tester, Milton asked Unagami to make the experience as exciting as possible, and that ended very badly so the game was shut down and THEY LEFT HIM INSIDE FULLY KNOWING HE WAS THERE??? I HATE DYER NOW!!!

Although it is really interesting knowing a tech genius like him, until now we got Dr. Julien and Cyrus Borg that were plenty open about the idea of AI with feelings as meaningful as humans'. While he doesn't get that, they are only machines for him and that's the reason why he doesn't understand how much Unagami is mad and filled with need for revenge.

This is why I want more than 11 minutes, the themes of this season are really, REALLY cool. I would have loved more introspection and development.

I guess Scott being Jay's brother is officially debunked 😅 Although I am curious about the life he left behind, since he was stuck in that game for 30 years. He still has those lightnings on the jacket I don't understand...

DON'T YOU DARE LET ZANE BE DESTROYED AGAIN PLEASE I STILL CRY WATCHING "THE TITANIUM NINJA"!!! 😢😢😢😢😢😢

The portal is open, Zane might get destroyed, Unagami wants revenge, Jay and Nya are the only one left and I'm pretty sure Nya will be killed as well leaving only Bluebell so there's THAT. So yeah, this is actually pretty cool!

THE TEMPLE OF MADNESS

This felt a little simple if I'm gonna be honest. I felt like the last mission before facing Unagami was a little basic, with nothing really exciting. Still liked it, but this is probably my least favorite episode 🤷‍♀️

Of course, put Jay is a sushi restaurant-themed level and he will kill you with puns 😂 I love this prankster

Again, the fighting scenes are dope. Definitely one of my favorite things since they changed the animation. You lose something you win something 😙

Jay taking charge is quite rare and when it happens you know things are about to get crazy 😂 It was really nice seeing how sensible he could be, telling that Unagami wasn't evil after all, that he needed closure and answers

I know I miss the animation peak we reached with SoG and Hunted, but I gotta say the atmosphere of the city with the lightnings and the gray sky was really awesome. Very cool.

Pff, that part with the elevator though, reminds me of the one in season 1 that made me start watch Ninjago ✌ Also it's always Borg's Tower indeed 😂

OKINO KICKING BUTTS HECK YEAH LOOK AT OUR RONIN GO!!!

And wow. WOW. I didn't expect Jay to drop the I'm adopted bomb on us, I think I never heard him talk about it since Skybound (that technically never happened so 😅). It was SO good seeing him sympathize with Unagami because he was also left with no explaination. His desire to know, along with the hope that the past is the past, but they had a good reason for. Also he freaking said he didn't have the chance to ask because Cliff is dead and I 😭😭😭😭

And here I melted, because we finally see the situation for what truly is, the way Jay also sees it: Unagami is a kid, a child that doesn't understand how the world works, that just wants to make his father proud but got rejected instead. The confrontation was actually touching, I really wish we had more time for that. Even a little resistance from Unagami, another fight, and a finally reconcilliation with Dyer.

MY NINJA BABIES ARE BACK I MISSED YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!! ❤💚💙🖤💦💎

Okay, very nice to see Seven and Okino out there and deciding to live their lives in Ninjago, nice to see some others like the rats going back to Prime Empire. As Unagami said, he gave them a choice, it's up to them at this point

But I'm sorry, WHY ARE WE NOT GOING TO TALK WITH SCOTT??? That guy's been trapped inside the game the longest, not even a "Hey bud, you're alive, cool cool"? I know I've been overbearing about how much I love Scott, especially since I had all those theories about him (still don't know why he has lightnings on his jacket and hat, is it just a style thing? Idk), but come on! Well I guess if he's happy I am 🤷‍♀️

Is that his girlfriend or something? After 30 years? Or maybe she got trapped with him a while later? Or maybe that's his... mom? Look, we all know determine the age of LEGO characters is hard, give me a break please 😅😅

Overall, very nice ending, it brought everything together quite nicely. I'm satisfied, yes!! 💜💜

FINAL THOUGHTS

As I said, the episodes' lenght I really think gets in the way of making this an excellent season. There is so much that could be explored more, the choice matter, all the amazing characters, and the AI feelings stuff from the latest episodes. There is room for more, I wished we got that

The characters though were really amazing. Between Scott, Okino, Seven and Unagami himself, there were very different personalities with very different dreams and thoughts, that made this ride much more interesting

Fighting animation was 👌👌👌

Comebacks from past seasons were 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌

Maybe it didn't really focused on Jay as much until the end? Yeah it was about him, but we got to see his sensibility and his past only last episode. He loves Nya, he likes videogames, of course but there's more about him than meets the eye! Wished we saw that, but in general it was nice seeing him first line again 💙

I liked this season. It has flaws, but I enjoyed many parts and at the end I was left satisfied 👍

Just... wasn't Jillian supposed to be in this? Or is it next season? She said a mom was going to come back, I took for granted it was going to be Edna. I'm curious about next season now... FINALLY A COLE SEASON EVERYONE!!! 🖤🖤🖤

Thinking journal for season 12 Prime Empire 😎😎😎 (1/2)

So, I'm keeping this during all of season 12 to put down my thoughts as they appear. It's mostly for not ranting every single time a new episode comes out so please don't mind me too much 😅 I'm following the English release so please no spoilers 😙

I'm gonna split it in two, since apparently the season has 16 episodes. So this is the first part, enjoy my rambling 💜💜

It's the 30th of March and here we go!

IN GENERAL

I'm so, SO HAPPY, we have a theme for this season. For my experience apparently silly themes (tech ninja, ghosts, pirates) had brought very surprising results so I'm SO DOWN FOR THIS 😍😍

It seems that they fixed the mood, there is a specific mystery and a specific mission to follow. I like it too

THE NEW WHIP IS DOPE AS ALWAYS

I'm really glad there are plenty of references to past episodes, comebacks are my jam

The only thing that still kinda bothers me is the length of the episodes. It's not all bad, I just think the 20 minutes format was better. One thing is splitting 20 in 10 minutes, another is putting together 11 minutes of important stuff. Doesn't bother me too much, I just wish there was more time for my favorite show 🤷‍♀️

WOULD YOU LIKE TO ENTER PRIME EMPIRE?

Is it normal for me to feel really old after they made the "what is a VCR?" joke? Like, I'm a uni student so still pretty young, but I lived through the transition from that to the DVD so... eh, I laughed anyway👵

Jay is smart, I really believe he is. Yet I saw him putting a possibly corrupted motherboard into a legendary game randomly found into a villain's lair, and I was like "Of course he did that, I love you you dumb*ss" raising my glass of juice towards him 😎

Okay, I'm down for this Lloyd. I'm down for a season with Lloyd being creeped out just because, being silly, just a ninja helping his friends and- (remembers there's a Harumi avatar in the sets) I'M NOT READY

The ending was actually nicely creepy. Cool nods in approval

DYER ISLAND

THAT INTRO THOUGH, THAT WAS EPIC! Love the techno sounds, love the clear gaming connection, I rate it 10/HECK YEAH LONG LIVE THE FOLD

I was scared about how the shorts were supposed to play along with the season, but it looks fine so far with the mechanic and later for Scott. Good 👍

Ah, Fist to Face, that game came all over from the nostalgic season 1. That's what I'm talking about 😎

So they just associated that Unagami is probably Dyer's avatar like that? Like sure, I thought about it, but it looks a little rushed. Mm, I wonder if there's something more behind it?

LEVEL 13

Cyrus Borg is back and he TALKS!!! Finally, he gets some action! Go tech dad!

I'm so happy he referenced the Digiverse, I would have been very disappointed if he hadn't. Time flies Borg...

Not gonna lie, I thought the next to follow up Jay's spot as best in videigames was going to be Kai or Lloyd. It's not disappointing though, since pretty much all the ninja have been seen playing, and to be honest I like the implication that Cole and Jay probably played a lot together. As bruiseshipping or as BrOTP, I still love them together no matter what 💙🖤💙🖤

Ooooohhhhh, that's why Zane and Pixal are left behind. It makes sense, sure, but I don't understand the implication of the plan: they saw Dyer entering Prime Empire, so why looking for him in real life? Mm, maybe they will investigate about his life and what happened... PIXANE ON THE CASE 😍

Already saw Prime Empire's world in the shorts, of course it looks DOPE, still very happy to finally being there!

SUPERSTAR ROCKIN' JAY

I don't know why, but Kai questioning the double jump made me laugh. Also poor him, he just got his powers back from last season and they're already gone again 😂

And of course. Them. Wow. It must be the most amazing and CURSED thing I've ever seen so far, the League of Jay 🤯 I'm so happy they exist and they freaking use past seasons' suits!!! Awesome!!! Never thought I was going to see Jay's old plain haircut again... yeah, he got better with the curly one, but I'm feeling nostalgic 🤷‍♀️

Their nick are histerical omg, Jaybird, Dee-Jay, Jaywalkin, I'm loving this way more than I should 😂 Also they freaking screamed "JAY-NJA GOO!!!" and I don't know what to do with that, it's too great for me to comprehend 👏👏

And then, THIS happened:

Your Honor, I would like to confirm this as THE MOST SECRET DREAM I'VE EVER HAD FOR THIS SHOW FINALLY COMING TRUE!!! A NINJA FROM NINJAGO DOING THE NARUTO RUN!!! 🤯🤯🤯 Done, I'm done, conclude the season, this is more than enough for me 😍

First Kai gets hit and fall from a building, DYING, then Lloyd gets desperate for his brother (MY BROTP 💚❤💚❤), then Kai respawns and Lloyd looks so relieved and Kai is all panting while slowly realizing it's a game and MY HEART CAN'T HANDLE THIS MUCH OKAY???

As a very passionate Kai fangirl I always expect the cringy moment, it really is inevitable for my favorite hothead. I love that idiot so much it's unbelievable, even if it's an absolute and costant suffering 😅 Holy Garmadon it was painful seeing his VERY slow realization that in this game you only have four lives

... SO HE HAS ONE NOW!?! NINJAGO CREW YOU ALREADY KILLED ZANE, NYA AND LLOYD ONCE AT THE END OF A SEASON, DON'T YOU DARE PLAY WITH ME AGAIN 😱😱😱

Okay, I did not expect to hear about Mr. Cuddly Wamp ever again since Hands of Time and BOY if I'm happy it was actually a password, I love this show 😂

SCOTT FINALLY!!! YESS!!! 😍😍😍

Okay, for as long as it is not debunked, I will hold onto the Scott is Jay's brother/twin theory. I'm sorry but: his jacket has dragons AND lightnings on it, they have very similar skin in avatar mode, he said he was waiting for him in the short, he could very well have his same hair under cap and hoodie and he's a mechanic too. I know, I know, they could have the same skin because Scott helped him for the avatar, and there might be shadier reason behind the 'I was waiting for you' thing, and there are tons of good mechanics in Ninjago... STILL HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE??? 😍

SCOTT HAS ONE LIFE POINT TOO??? NO! NOOO!!! NOOOOOOO!!! Don't you dare appear and steal my heart only to die at the end of the season, come on!! 😭

So for now it seems like he just wants to survive. Can we actually confirm he's an avatar and not an NPC? I mean he could be, but I don't see the point of an NPC self aware of his life points. Idk, maybe I'm overthinking this 🤷‍♀️

Lol, Kai is the only one weirded out by the Jay-con all around him. Probably because he hasn't heard from his fans since Skybound 😅 (I'M STILL HERE MY FLAME BABE, ILY ❤❤❤)

And in all of his glory, freaking Superstar Rockin' Jay!!! 😎😎 Okay, I loved the design since the first time I saw it, but it looks possibly even better in the show 😍😍😍 And Jay looks absolutely adorable in it, and he's got a guitar, and he was waiting for his friends, and he hugs them (I'm weak for LEGO hugs for some reason) and he is so happy and AAAHHH 💙💙💙💙💙

I'm very curious about how Scott will play into the situation, clearly he will provide some kind of insight about Prime Empire. I can't wait to know more about him!! 😍

I AM OKINO

I did not expect this when I saw this Okino guy in the trailer... and I'm so happy I was surprised, I love him 👌

And he's voiced by Alessandro Juliani?? HECK YEAH!!! With all the hype about the DnD 13th season, and consequentially the knight theme, I really miss Nexo Knights and having Aaron's VA around makes me happy... any hope to have Giles Panton as well? I miss Clay the most 💙💙

This is what I'm talking about, the game theme needs this stuff! I was already happy to see life points, double jumps and respawns, but this? The NPC guide? Awesome 👍 It's nice to see the take on the matter, the guide seeing so many players getting killed, first because they did not listen, then because they were actually just unlucky. The touchy matter I always expect watching Ninjago 👏👏

At least I THINK he's an NPC? For now I don't really see a way of knowing, and it doesn't look like it matters. He didn't show life points so maybe? Does this mean he can't die? I have questions people

Which brings me to the cube thingies. That's what happens to the dead players? I mean, I would understand if they just become pixels, but there's also the drone that takes the datas every time. Idk, feels like there's more behind it. And honestly? It looks like great material for angst, like one of the ninja dies but then they discover they just need to get where Unagami stores all of the players! I hope it's something like this!

They designs of the players are really cool, I already saw them in the other episodes, but seeing them this close just confirmed it. Between this and Jay's awesome avatar, I see lots of great cosplay ideas coming 😍 I wonder when will Kai and Lloyd use their avatars, and why would they since I'm guessing Jay did for disguise and to distinguish himself from his fans

PLEASE TELL ME WE'LL SEE SCOTT SOON, I ALREADY MISS HIM!!! 💙💙💙 I have too many theories about that tech dude, I'm so excited about who he might turn out to be!

I was a little skeptical about the new ninja suits, but seeing them in the show convinced me, very cool! Especially on Nya 💕💕💕

THE GLITCH

Alright, Okino is indeed an NPC. Cool the fact that at first he could not understand the fact that he was in a game, but when reality changed he was forced to. Welcome into the crew! 😙

I'm kinda worried about it though, either they will shut down the game and he will stay inside or he will sacrifice for them. He's a very loyal samurai, I can see that happening and I'm SCARED

I WAS SWEATING BULLETS AT THE AMBUSH!!! I 100% saw it coming, we all freaking saw it coming, even the ninja did but where like 'we can walk and die or we can risk and die so might as well'. But still, my babies DYING and respawning so fast was not pretty 😱😱

Nya got the scariest death until now in my opinion, holy Garmadon Dyer DOES have a twisted mind...

Seeing Kai so scared of being in a new situation and with one HP reminds me A LOT of the Digiverse, and that's actually a nice touch. Give him a cellphone, hothead is a social media expert, but put him in a game and... huuhhh... 😅

Have I mentioned I love the ninja's new emoji masks??

So Unagami knows about them trying to stop him and he sent the rat people because of it. Considering how little we know about this guy, I'm wondering what we are about to discover

So apparently Unagami is trying to build some kind of device using the energy cubes of the dead players (sounds kinda creepy like this 😱) to create some kind of portal? To Ninjago? I don't understand, if Unagami is Milton Dyer then why this? Just to bring his army and conquer? I mean I guess, sounds a little simple though. Then again, if it turns out it's not Dyer, it could be Unagami wanting to be real and get into his creator's world? Mm...

I like the message, having the ability to choose your own path. Very fitting for a game themed season, I hope it gets explored even more!

Confirmed the thing about going into the real world, what scares me is how much powers Unagami seems to actually possess. Like, can he do the block thingy whenever he wants? Just straight up pause and do whatever? Wow...

So now we have two ronin: a samurai looking for a path on his own in a digital world... and a shady guy named Ronin 😛 Total respect for Okino, he really showed the values he believes in. No matter he was programmed his way, I hope he finds what he's looking for. Better come back for the final battle!

One Keytana down, two more to go. I know one is the price of the race, while the last one... I don't really know.
