I see your “Iris has a Hero complex” idea, and I propose “Iris has both a Hero complex and a God complex”

We both know how it is. It started out as just wanting to punish the people of Unova for never treating her with basic respect. She wanted them to feel hopeless like she had, how she felt so small compared to everyone else. And now they’ll feel small and hopeless against Team Plasma

But.. when Kyurem gave her the title “Hero of Fate” it truly started to develop. She controlled fate, it was up to her decision on what was to happen. How she could say someone’s fate was set in stone, and make it happen. She controlled the power of Kyurem the strongest Dragon in all of Unova

She chooses one’s fate

She could chose if they live or die

She’s sorta like Light from Death Note. He started out as being a “Hero” but eventually the power got to him and he wanted to be the God of the new world. Imagine just, Iris being like that. As a Hero she can decide who is a villain and who isn’t, so she decides the public are the villains and she has to get rid of them

But now, she’s so far deep in her power and her ambitions that she doesn’t doubt her beliefs one bit. She knows she can rule over Unova, over other regions, rule over the entire World

Besides, she was chosen and given the power of a god. It’s only right that her fate is set in stone

(Wanted to ask, what if it’s only Iris as a villain? Like how you have a Diantha Villain AU, there can also be a Villain Iris AU? Just thought it’d be cool how the Champions would see her as a villain)

God her views are so fucking skewed at this point tho bc she believes w all of her heart that she is a Hero, a Hero like Hilbert and Hilda, a Hero w her own Dragon, a Hero who'll save everyone from any kind of threat. But like, the people of Unova didn't see her like that yknow, they saw her as a nuisance, someone who's trying way too fucking hard, someone who doesn't even deserve her own Champion title. And that kinda fucks her up yknow.

Imagine a younger Iris, just became Champion, and she's expecting everyone to finally like her more, to see how strong she is, but amidst the flashes of camera and fake smiles, she could hear whispers of how she just got lucky. And it hurt her ofc, even after years of being the Champion, after proving herself over and over again especially up against the Champions of the other regions, they still saw her as a weak trainer, who only got that far bc of her luck and her connections.

Then one day, while she was out accompanying Bianca at Lacunosa Town, Bianca mentioned how back then a lady in this town told them the story of a dragon who can control ice, Kyurem. Ofc, they all know abt Kyurem at this point, but none knew where it is. After Neo Plasma's attack, they never saw light of Kyurem again. But that only fed Iris' curiosity really, she knows Kyurem was still around, she just has to find it.

And she did.

Kyurem joined her, she managed to defeat him, and he spoke highly of her skills. She laughed bitterly at that, saying if only the people of Unova could see that as well. Kyurem had said how he feels the same, how he knows people only saw him as an empty piece of the Original Dragon, merely an accessory for Zekrom and Reshiram, an empty husk of the former dragon, without a mind of its own. They were wrong ofc, Iris knows that, especially now talking to Kyurem. And Kyurem crouched down to her level, sees her tears, asks her of it, and she went on how for some reason, talking to a supposed monster was more comforting than talking to any of the Unovan people, how Kyurem understood her more than anyone. And ofc, that warmed smth within Kyurem, as he leaned in and gave her a soft nuzzle, telling her to dry those tears, he will help her prove to everyone how strong she is. How strong both of them are.

And just bcmdnd yknow Kyurem actually being really encouraging w Iris, telling her how much of a failure Plasma was when he was under them, and telling her how she's doing a much better job. How he tells her that as the Hero of Fate, she gets to decide who lives and who dies and who tells their story

And ofc, that got to Iris' head, the first time she actually killed someone was on the same day Kyurem joined her. A few trainers or maybe they were rangers were patrolling the Giant Chasm, and then they saw Iris there w Kyurem. Iris' back facing them, but Kyurem was sneering at them, a puff of cold air leaving where his mouth was supposed to be. He looked at Iris, "are they not the ones who looked down on you?"

Iris finally turned, saw them, he recognizes them, during that time she and Bianca were at Lacunosa, she heard their whispers going on why she was just leisurely on a stroll w a friend, and not doing her Champion duties.

The rangers were frozen in place, Kyurem hasn't even used his powers yet, but they were fearing for their lives.

Iris was facing them now, a glint within those crimson eyes. "Yes.. they are."

"and what do you wish to do with them, my liege?"

The rangers were pleading to Iris, desperate they called out to her, asking for her forgiveness, they didn't mean what they said. But, damn, Iris has to admit, the way they knelt down before her, the way they cried, the way they were willing to do anything just so she would spare them, it was music to her ears. And god it felt strange, there was a sudden jolt of thrill within her, the way that she can just decide whether or not the rangers lives or dies, it got her excited. The thought of being the one in charge of peoples' fate, it gave her a sense of sordid mirth. She smiled at the rangers, and they realized their fate has been sealed, softly, she spoke, "I want you to kill them."

Hearing Kyurem's thunderous roar, piercing icicles honed towards them, and they were welcomed by the sweet embrace of death.

Just cbmdbcmdnd god but if this is just a villain Iris au tho, imagine the Champions not figuring out its her that's Plasma's new leader now. Cause she has that alter ego, she has perfect excuses, no one ever knew she had Kyurem. But they're so goddamn worried abt her and abt Unova, they all heard how this version of Plasma was stronger than before, how they're even more of a threat, that their new leader even killed the old one, leaving his corpse at Driftveil to rot.

But Iris tells them it's okay, she and her League are handing it, but that doesn't seem to ease the tension for the other Champions. Iris was one of the younger Champions, and while they don't underestimate her, they're just really worried she'd get hurt, she's like a daughter/little sister to them, and they won't ever forgive themselves if smth were to happen to her

Okay here to create an entire au based on just one song lyric but:

Anne did NOT survive that first week. But the guardian is like "shit didnt think this far ahead ummm ghost?" So Anne is this visible but *mostly intanglibe spirit. she panics at first bc "OMF I DIED" but gets used to it. shes visible, can still interact with people. she has cool ghost powers now. aint all that bad, aint it?

anyway now to over exlpain stuff as it pops into my head but ill put it under the cut dont worry. got the basic stuff anyway alwaredy

So: Reunion. Anne of the year happens and stuff and Toadie is like "some one says their a friend" yada yada yada stuff so anne is still ghost when she goes up to sasha. BUT she has learned that its best to pretend to be alive at least when approaching someone so she float walks up (looks like shes walking but is actaully floating) and then realizes its sasha and goes "Oh shit" and tangibles herself just before the hug. during the ride she lets herself go untangible but still trys to keep herself not see through so sasha doesnt know whats up. anyway while theyre at toad tower she tangibles but is really fucking tired most of the time. fight happens and anne is holding on with everything shes got. except she can feel herself losing focus. Sasha says the whole 'better off without me" line but right before she can let herself go Anne goes intangible again so sasha drops but she knows she was still holding on and she could feel anne so what happened? sasha has a lot of questions. Anne has extra grief bc she was the one who dropped sash. yeah...

Marcy at the gates! Anne is fully prepared to float over the wall and stuff but doesnt bc fam is in danger and oh hey theyre saved and thats a weird looking newt let me float over and help them but- oh. that is a human. who has just seen me be very much not alive. shit.

Anne pretends that nothing happened for a bit and goes tangible and all that while theyre doing the barbirant quest thing. Marcy is like "well, since she's not mentioning it, I must have imagined it!" Until that one bit where Marcy like shoves Anne out of the way. And just goes straight through her. Both girls eyes widen as they process what just happened but Anne takes control and is like "I'LL EXPLAIN LATER LETS FOCUS ON THE FIGHT RN" so yada yada yada thing happens except Anne kinda hides ghostyness a little less bc the secret is already out, not much you can do now. After fight she explains and marcy is broken. She brought her best friend here and now shes dead. She killed her best friend. Breaks so hard in fact that she spills the secret to Anne who is like "what. i- i need time to think" so they dont talk for multiple days besides the king andrias meeting**. Anne eventually lets Marcy explain why and friendship is very strained but Anne learns to move on. Not forgive, not yet, maybe not even ever, but move on. It happened, and all she can do now is deal with the consequences.

**CORE LORE HEHEHE. So actaully gonna slightly change some core lore and shit. Anne takes one look at the crown and it like "that thing is evil and I dont know why" bc she has some extra spirit senses now. She tries to focus in on it and her eyes flash blue for a second and she catches a glimpse of thousands of orange spirits, all with to many eyes, floating around the crown and whispering in Andrias's ears. She cant see them again, but is very suspicious of Andrias now. Thankfully, the core didn't see her. Or did it?

One little spirit, mostly ignored by the rest, saw her looking. For some reason, it doesn't feel compelled to tell the rest of the hivemind. It knows they wont look in it's mind, it has long lost all usefullness, only around because it was forgotten. It itself can't connect with the rest, and has no reason to want to. It follows Anne, leaving the core behind. It watches, silent. Until one day, Anne catches a glimpse of it following her. She doesnt day anything until she is alone. She calls out, "I know you're there." It is surprised, but becomes visible to her. (only her. thats important. but yeah the core ghosts have more control over theyre visiblity and shit.) She is surprised. It seems... so small. "Who are you?" It seems to think. It does not know. It's name has long faded from memory. It tells her so, and she softens just a bit more. "What are you?" It perks up. This it knows the answer to! It tells her of the Core, the collection of Amphibia's greatest minds. She understands why she dislikes the crown now, and what she saw that day. But she also knows that this little fellow wont hurt her.

Anne has a little ghost buddy now. She names it Clementine. (It's faintly orange, just like all the other Core ghosts, but slightly less as it is nearly entirely removed from the hivemind.)

On the side note, this art stems an idea I had for a comic, where Sakura leaves the village frustrated about politics, recent deaths and (platonic) rejection from Kakashi, the only left member of team 7 (naruto dead, Sasuke joined orochimaru). She goes rogue, joins Orochimaru and akatsuki, gets into snake jutsus etc. Years pass and she gets very strong but also troubled, pain is replaced by anger, she hides vulnerabilities with aggression. Until one day konoha send a team to attack akatsuki hideout and Sakura recognizes Kakashi among them. She on purpose damages the building and ends up being locked underground with Kakashi. He is injured and she uses poison to prevent him from using chakra. They "talk" (she pretends to interrogate him or even seduce hime to show him how well shes doing and what he missed) but Kakashi manages to crack her "bad girl personality" with words, he tells he loves her.

I didn't think over what's next, but probably lots of action, Sakura coming to terms to what she has done and her true feelings and motivations. And ofc Kakashi helping her through all the mental health stuff. Perhaps him going rogue too. I don't know ahah it's dark, it's messed up and everyone hurts. And have hot moments in between all the angst.

(suprise) and they have this like moment where it felt like they were the only ppl in the world, THEY ALMOST KISS but she wakes up, then she transfers to the same school as the boys and Bella Swan wannabe, then she becomes friends with the boys and sooha is already hating her ass bcus she doesn't like another girl being the group, but with niki she feels familiar with him but she doesn't know why(ik the dream but like the catch she doesn't remember his face), they became like sorta bffs like they only hangout alone when it's night time, TIME SKIP YADA YADA, then like sooha is jealous of how much niki and mc are like she is not as close with him as he is with mc then sooha and mc are duelling with swords and like sooha is about to hit her really hard and NIKI JUST COMES IN ALL PROTECTIVE AND SHIT JSBSKQBEJDIDNDDIWJ ITS MAKING ME BLUSH then he says something to her, the drags mc away checks up on her and mc is just looking at him fondly like he hung the stars himself THEN FLUFF HAPPENS THEN THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER

“Can I tell you a behind the scenes secret about this tattoo?” You point to the side of your boob. The boy nods. “It was either this tiny one or a whole sleeve.”

“You were really considering a whole sleeve?” He runs his hand up and down your arm to generate more body heat. “What happened with that?”

“You know how, when you’re in this industry, people expect you to be covered in art? When your arms look like mine, a lot of people will question your authenticity, especially when you’re just starting out,” you explain.

You might have celebrities and fellow artists who’ll back you up now that you have a large portfolio and presence on social media, but it wasn't easy for you in the beginning when you had no one.

You’d heard a lot of shit being said about you, and you tried to push past it, but it got to be too much at some point. You specifically remember another artist saying, “What does she know about tattoos if she doesn’t have any tattoos of her own?”

That’s when you decided to bite the bullet despite how you felt about needles.

“I just thought it’d be easier to move forward if they could see how passionate I was about tattoos. A sleeve would’ve been clear proof of that.”

Jungkook plants a kiss on your sleeveless arm. “The assholes who judged you clearly didn’t know what they were talking about.”

“I eventually realized that,” you say softly. “I ended up designing the whole sleeve, only to look at it later and say I couldn’t go through with it.” 

“The last thing you want to do is have a whole sleeve of resentment tattooed to your skin,” he says. Your boyfriend says the wisest things sometimes.

“That’s why I downgraded,” you agree. “Part of me still wanted a tattoo, but it didn’t need to prove anything to anyone. So I went with this cute little guy and tucked him away for a handsome boy to find a few years later.”

“I’m glad you let me see it.” Jungkook gives your whole body a good squeeze. “I bet your sleeve design was sick, though.”

You roll over to grab your phone and scroll through your photos. Once you track down the design in question, you hand your phone over to the boy.

“Oh shit.” His eyes are wide as he zooms in to catch every little detail. Among all the chaos you’d thrown into the piece, Jungkook points out something intriguing. It’s a black panther perched on a crescent moon. It still surprises you how good the details came out on it.

“That’s the one part of this whole design that I still really like,” you say. Clearly you have a soft spot for the moon panther. Otherwise you wouldn’t have the miniature version of it tattooed to your breast. “It feels like a waste to have abandoned it.”

“Weren’t you supposed to have a consultation today to discuss design details with a client?” Jungkook hums innocently as if he’s not referring to himself. “He might be interested in the moon panther, if that’s an option.”

You draw an imaginary circle on the boy’s forearm that isn’t already covered in ink. It’s easy to imagine that sort of tattoo on him. It suits him perfectly. “It’ll look good on you.”

“I can’t wait.” Jungkook does that adorable wrinkly grin again and melts your heart away. “By the way, was that the origin story for how you got the name snowsleeve?”

“Yeah.” You smile back. You’ve always had a special attachment to your IG handle because it’s a reminder that you’re a tattoo artist whether or not you have a sleeve to prove it. That was the confidence boost and secret identity you needed back then before you had people on your side—and before you had Jungkook. “But now that I think about it, I might have to change that name if you ever cover my arm in more bunny fairies.”

You wonder what clever name you’d change it to. Or maybe you’d start going by your real name. That doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

After letting out a huge yawn, you kiss Jungkook on the lips and drift off to sleep feeling so warm and safe in his arms.
