Sometimes I’m normal and other times I remember Dean’s canon daughter and how Sam never got hounded for killing her by the fanbase but Dean is still treated like mayor of cunt city for mistreating Jack. Obviously two wrongs don’t make a right and Dean was very much in the wrong for how he treated Jack, but the fact Sam is seen as better than him for it despite doing arguably the same thing rubs me the wrong way. And this isn’t so much a dig at Sam as a character but rather a commentary on how the fanbase kind of puts him on this weird pedestal.

He killed Emma. Sam made up his mind about Jack in the same amount of time he made up his mind about Emma, but chose to kill her and empathize with Jack. Dean didn’t have an obligation to Jack, he didn’t know him when they first met, but Sam had an obligation to both Dean and Emma as a brother and an uncle.

I know he acted to save Dean, however- as a sibling, I know that if I were to kill my hypothetical niece or nephew to save my sibling that they would hate me forever, and that is a fact that would alter my idea on how to approach the situation.

Often Dean is viewed as this huge piece of shit for his behavior towards Jack in the beginning, because “how dare he assume the antichrist and son of the guy who killed Cas would be not great” but meanwhile Sam gets off with not so much as a mention to the fact he killed a young girl because she was a monster.

Where are the lines drawn? What makes a monster a monster? Are they less of one when you see yourself in them? Or was Dean in the wrong because Jack became a more important character. Hell, maybe it all ties back to the fact that Supernatural seems to hate women, who knows.

The best way that I can describe this man in this AU is like.....mostly deadpan, with an occasional snarky quip, he kinda just rolls with the flow at this point. He's very much past his prime, and is now just very calmly sitting in the passenger seat while Hat kid rams her scooter into the nearest cement wall.

He is the only real sane voice of reason in the entire kingdom, Which is why Hat always bothers him with all her problems.

Something I can mention w/o having to be vague is the fact that, - yes, in this universe dad snatcher is a thing. It NEVER comes up in the main story, mostly because I decided I wanted it to be a side thing entirely(backstory for the two kingdoms). Hat kid isn't actually aware of this until post-plot, which is when their relationship really starts to blossom.

In the meantime, he's just her super secret lawyer that nobody really knows about.

as flattering as it is to be described as a malign influence on spnblr due to my evil samcr*t ways, all it does is remind me that i was right to take on a hardline Do Not Pander To Samgirls stance back in 2021 because they are not good people lmfao. obviously in the last year or so many of us have freed ourselves from Compulsory Sam-Liking but pre-2023 they still said we were sexist for liking dean or cas more than womyn-coded sam or homophobic for thinking dean is queer when he's clearly a violent gay-basher who did conversion therapy on actual queer sam or like, racist because they think demon blood makes sam Pee Oh Cee coded. why try to placate someone who's convinced they will always retain the moral high ground due to their choice of fictional character?

no ok but in part 1 when paul first has his vision of the holy war and quietly says "someone please help me" ---my heart is BROKEN . This is a kid who is terrified of what he might become and then Becomes It. And was doomed to always become it. this is why i'm not fully on board with the "paul is 100% a villain" discourse -- because he never wanted to be. still haven't read dune messiah i just Know Stuff but sure he BECOMES a coked up religious figurehead dictator responsible for billions(?) of deaths, but I will never forget that he absolutely did not start out that way. Paul is a tragedy. And the child he was deserved so much more than what he was made to be later. Whatever crazy bullshit he pulls next, a part of me will always be sympathetic to some degree. this is the horror story he's the killer and the final girl all at once. Never forget the kid who, when able to choose whatever name he liked for himself, named himself after a mouse.

tbh i got 90% of my sex ed in my late teens from resources shared on tumblr and it's also where i learned everything about queer stuff that i knew before the age of eighteen. i cannot stress enough how much i had nowhere else to learn that. hardly any of the books i read growing up had queer characters, they just weren't a thing in uk teen/YA publishing at that point (thank you, section 28 and its legacy that dragged on for years afterwards), and my hometown is a tory-voting suburb full of old people and young families so there was nothing around me i could learn from either. at sixteen i had no idea how lesbians had sex because the only sex ed i'd ever received was lessons about heterosexual reproduction in biology. when i started to suspect i was queer i panicked not bc i thought I'd face homophobia but because i didn't know who to ask for the absolute basics of any kind of sex beyond reproductive penetrative sex. and tumblr is probably the only reason i realised i was queer while marinating in that sea of heteronormativity and ignorance!

this website is deeply deeply flawed but god. i'd have been utterly lost without it. i really would
