 No one eats dinner, and Frank won’t stop tapping his spoon against his bowl. Tok tok tok it goes, over and over again.

Poppy made a simple stew from their provisions, but only Eddie and Sally make an attempt at tasting it. Their halfhearted ‘it’s good’s don’t pierce the pressure weighing down on them all. Barnaby swears he can taste it, thick and cloying. 

Already he keeps catching himself looking for Wally. Where is- he starts to think, and then he remembers the moment Wally fell with a spear piercing his chest, and the grief rises so fast it nearly drowns him in a heartbeat. Barnaby can’t bring himself to try and hide it behind anything but a stony mask. In any other situation he might try to put some levity into the group. Cheer up the sad and empty faces staring into their meals. 

He wouldn’t be able to think of a single lighthearted thing even if he wanted to. He doesn’t.

Tok tok tok-

Shuffling from Howdy’s tent has everyone glancing over at it, and Frank’s spoon stills. Howdy briefly woke up while Poppy was cooking. All he did was sit up, look at everyone, then pitch to the side and vomit. They got him into a tent before he passed out again, mumbling something about puppets. Frank made a comment about how Howdy was supposed to be a bit out of it, not at fae-drunk levels of hazy. Eddie had muttered back a dejected apology, and after that the camp was silent until Poppy’s announcement that dinner was ready. The spoon continues tapping when the shuffling stills.

Tok tok tok-

Since Eddie and Sally saying that dinner is good, there hasn’t been a noise beyond the occasional sniffle. It’s a good thing Julie isn’t trying her stew - it must be disgustingly salty from all the tears dripping into it. 

Tok tok tok-

Barnaby sighs through his nose and puts his bowl down, sick of looking at everyone’s misery. He would say that he’s going to go sleep, but he has a feeling that none of them are getting a wink tonight. 

Tok tok-

Before he can stand, Frank blurts, “We shouldn’t have attacked it. It was a mistake.”

“Please don’t,” Julie begs.

“There’s no need to rub salt in the wound,” Sally says firmly, her stew starting to sizzle from the rising heat in her hands.

“Not right now, Frank,” Eddie mutters. 

Frank visibly bristles, and he launches to his feet. “I refuse to pretend not to have seen what I did! The truth is a terrible thing, but someone needs to say it. Wally lied to us.”

“Frank…” Barnaby warns.

“We shouldn’t have attacked the demon,” Frank barrels on, ignoring him, “because there was no need to. It didn’t eat Wally until the end because the demon is his patron. Wally was never a wizard at all, he was a warlock-”

Barnaby lunges with a deep bark that echoes against the trees. The crickets symphony falls silent. Frank trips backwards over his seat, staring up with wide eyes as Barnaby stalks around the fire, growling. Eddie and Sally slowly stand, inching between him and Frank. 

Barnaby stops, snout bunched and canines bared. He jabs a claw at Frank. “Don’t you ever say that again. Ever.”

Frank’s mouth flaps uselessly for a moment. When he speaks, it comes out as a whisper, “I’m-”

“If you end that with right instead of sorry, I’ll make damn sure that you are.”

Frank wisely keeps his mouth shut. The crickets continue chirping.

Barnaby glares at him until Frank looks away. Barnaby straightens his vest with a sharp tug and strides away from the fire, towards his and- his tent. Just his, now. Murmuring breaks out at his back. He yanks the flap open, grabs his pipe and herb pouch, and heads towards the forest. He pauses only to listen by Howdy’s tent, waiting to hear proof of life before continuing on.

Once he can’t see the firelight anymore, Barnaby chooses a random tree and sits heavily in front of it. Rough bark digs into his back through his vest. A night bird hoots overhead. Crickets continue to make their music, but Barnaby wishes they would shut up for good. 

Light from the full moon pours through the branches to provide just enough light to see by. Barnaby holds up his pipe and quickly puts it to the side to take off a grimy glove. The heart-pad and blue fur underneath contrasts vibrantly with the dust-grayed rest of him. After a moment he removes the other glove, wincing as the leather drags over his injured knuckles. He turns his paw over and scowls at the dirty black edges of the red-raw scrapes. He should have punched harder. He hopes it scars, even though he knows it won’t.

The gloves themselves are scuffed up, but not beyond use. Barnaby folds them into his pocket and gets to work lighting his pipe. He packs it and instinctively opens his mouth to ask Wally to light it for him. The words die on his tongue as he turns only to see dark forest. Empty woods save for the tiny blue lights of night wisps floating on the breeze. 

Barnaby stares into the darkness with yawning dread. He keeps looking. How long will it take him to stop? How long until Wally’s face starts to smudge in his memories, until his voice is gone and Barnaby doesn’t even remember what his smile looked like? How long until Barnaby only thinks of him in passing? 

He doesn’t want to reach that point. He desperately does. 

Will it hurt more or less? Does it matter? He wants it to ache until he dies.

Barnaby frantically fishes his sparkrune out of the herb pouch - only there for emergencies, when Wally or Sally isn’t there to light it for him. It will wear down to a nub within the month. He strikes his thumb claw against it, and sparks fly expertly into the bowl of his pipe. It takes a moment to catch. Barnaby lifts the bit to his lips and takes a drag before enough smoke forms for a lungful. 

Maybe he should have grabbed the stronger stuff. If he breathes enough of it, maybe he’d be able to see Wally. 

But Barnaby doesn’t get up in the end. He sits against the base of a tree and hugs himself, the pipe’s intermittent glow betraying the shine in his eyes.

I am still thinking about my little performer peppino hc. Not like stage performing but like. The same kind of energy of chefs that work hibachi grills in front of customers? Some people will do the job but some people like to be a little flashy ✨

There was a pizzeria by me that was SO fucking small, u could see the oven and small storage room behind it. But that meant u could see like both chefs making their pizzas. And one of them was SO flashy he was just having a good time. I usually ordered ahead of time to go bc it would take 20 some odd minutes to get an order done but sometimes pizza was an afterthought so id come in and have to wait the full 20 minutes. And its late in the evening and its kinda slow. But hes like spinnin that dough in the air and all that shit and i know what he does during the busy hours so i know hes just flexing. Or maybe he was just vibin who knows. And hed do this thing w the string to tie the box tight that i CANNOT find online but its like, turning the box incredibly fast and looping the strings over itself until the whole box has 8 separate strings that make a cute bow in the center like bro what the fuck that was magic bro howd u do that shit. I think its nice; i like seeing people own their profession. Its his job for like the rest of his life and people love the food and the atmosphere is nice and chill and he gets to flex his skills at 9pm 🍕💖

Ricardo Ramos is a very glamorous, over the top musician! He’s an all-in-one kinda guy; he can play music, dance and sing! His design is notoriously inspired by Tango culture, he plays the Bandoneón (Not an accordion. Never call it accordion. He will get offended and he will Not shut up about it) (…but yeah its a fancier looking accordion). He had a special segment in the series where he would teach You and the neighbors about the various rythmes and music genres around the world! When he wasnt doing that though, he was just vibing in Home along with the neighbors.

He’s also argentinian! Although he has'nt got back there in a while. He travels around the globe spreading music and being all charming and whatnot! Very busy! He misses his home a lot tho, so if you happen to name Argentina even once he Won’t shut up. That’s another thing! He wont shut up period. He loves talking and telling wacky stories about his trips (half of them are usually lies!). He constantly talks about how he used to study alongside the best known tango musicians on earth, and how he personally met every single one of them. He is, of course, lying. He didn’t even study music! Everything he knows is self-taught babey!!!

Of course Ricardo would have never visited Home willingly. Hes more of a city guy anyways. He drove into the woods while getting a shortcut to get to another city, his car crashed, he carried his RV to the nearest town (Which was Home) to seek out for help, however absolutely nobody there had any car! It was like cars never existed. How weird! And when he tried to get back into the woods to get his car back, he realized he had no idea where it was! Almost as if it dissappeard. How weird! And this odd town is on the middle of nowhere! Hes completely lost, not knowing how to get out, even if he tries his hardest! Almost as if it was impossible! How! Weird!!! But the neighbors are cool and the town is pretty so. Oh well <3

the clips of the podium and the chaos of letting Lando loose with the champagne when they take the full team pic made my face hurt from grinning

and then we have the fan stage, and Lando filling up a shoe only to hand it to Oscar first because he drove a podium worthy race

and then we have the boy, lit by the slowly setting sun with his hat falling off and damp curls revealed

and to close off the unboxed, we have both our papaya boys, with the two colours heavily represented in the crowd, to the cheers of "oh, Oscar Piastri" melting into "Landooo, Landooo"

summary is my face hurts from grinning the whole way through, I'm still not over the magic that happened at Silverstone and this is well worth the watch (maybe even enough to forgive them that this is the first unboxed since Monaco)

nothing illegal obviously — other than that, aside from long-lifespan characters whose mental maturation is slower, i generally stay away from with 10+ year age gaps when the younger muse is under 20. just feels like a weird power dynamic i guess?

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?

yes! ships on this blog cannot be pre-established — i tend to lose interest fast if they don't build up naturally, either through lots of ooc plotting or through writing. on top of that, seph is ... piiiiicky. she has very specific Types. generally, ships with very gentle, soft, mentally well-adjusted characters are possible, but transient — seph falls out of love after a point, but remains staunchly protective of them.

the long and short of the matter is she's a freak, and you kind of have to match that to be compatible as a long-term partner. but even then they don't always line up perfectly! idk. seph's weird. simultaneously very easy to ship with and very hard to ship with.

@chaoslulled oh boy(s). toji — brutally in love. they saw and embraced each other's monster, refused to shy away, and now they somehow revolve in this strange orbit of violent and incredibly soft with each other. i think he's the first of the current ship lineup that seph has in-thread said the L-word to. this ship was so easy to jump right into, the chemistry was like lightning in a bottle. satoru — one of the most genuinely unexpected slowburn ships i've stumbled into. these two read each other for filth INSTANTLY as lonely motherfuckers who, in some way or another, had loved and lost. they haven't even gotten to the oh-shit moment in the slowburn yet but i'm lookin forward to it yakuza sukuna — THE PAIN. THE SUFFERING. AUHHHGHGGGG HOL YOU'RE FUCKING KILLING MEEEE. these two are mirrors in the worst possible way. they've got their throats stuck under their boss' boot heels; they've been disfigured, they've had their siblings used as leverage, they've been made into muzzled dogs. despite hating each other at the start, they can't not recognize that, and it's led to this fierce protectiveness that isssss whoops evolving into feelings. i'm sure nothing will go wrong

Concept: 💭💭💭💭 I've never gotten along that well with a book blurb, but this one does its damn job - gives me enough plot premise to get me interested without giving it all away, and doesn't make me feel like I've been lied to once I start the book! some stories really don't do what they say on the tin, or take ages to get there at all, but Uprooted starts off exactly at the spot the blurb said it would - with a girl, in a valley, scared of a terrible wizard, about to be whisked away to a tower.

Execution: 💥💥💥💥💥 This story is EXACTLY what it says it wants to be, down to the cadence of the prose - a Polish folklore-inspired fairytale. The rhythm of Novik's narration even fits right - one day I'll get the audiobook for this and get to hear it the way I read it in my head, like a grandmother's bedtime story with twists and eddies and crescendos at the all the right bits. I was in love with the aesthetic of every character, they fit perfectly into the backdrop of what this story was.

Personal Enjoyment: ❤❤❤❤❤ This book aligns to my tastes much the same way An Enchantment of Ravens does, and shares of lot of the same elements without ever feeling derivative - smart girl meets magic boy, causes all kinds of irreversible political upheaval, and lives happily ever after being just as they are - a Girl with The Audacity. its a tale as old as time, and i'll hear it told just as often

Favourite Moment: you know its a good book when you really can't choose a favourite moment - one that comes to mind is agniezska choosing to save sarkan from being grafted onto the heart-tree in the Wood instead of setting fire to it. the 'fuck it!' energy agniezska brings to her moments of crisis is SO good, plus the motif of her always reaching out to sarkan to cast magic together - 'hey real quick, cast a spell with me while you're being pulled into an evil magic tree trying to twist your magic and life force against us. couldn't hurt, eh?' and then it WORKS

Favourite Character: now yall know i love a sarkan-esque character - pathetic wet cat men who are so offended by their own squishy feelings are a great time! and kasia is SO bad bitch extraordinaire, her and agnieszka's love for each other literally makes the plot go - every time, every time without hesitation she puts herself as the last thing standing between agnieszka and the Wood. but agniezska herself is really Something. the way she uses magic, her connection with nature and her refusal to be anything else than what she is - a grubby young woman who wields kindness as her weapon against the world, who holds onto her humanity with both hands and teeth - she shapes this fairytale to be the story she wants it to be, one of connection and empathy. and im still thinking about her introducing the lord of the whole valley to her mother 🤣 power move!!

okaaaaaay. ranking the library's floors based on how nice it would be to take a nap there. graded by ambiance and comfort. trying not to let too many of my own biases shine through but also no promises. im sleepy. ok 👍

> Lobby/Halls: im counting it because itd be funny. the ambiance is not unlike a hotel hallway; kind of really unsettling in its uniformity and undefinedness, but it Does make you sleepy if youre brave enough to risk it. feels like there'd be a chaser monster in there. and there is, if you count angela, i guess. 5/10 ambience. im pretty sure it is like 60-70% stairs if you look at it, which is deeply funny. where do the stairs go. i guess the better question is where Don't the stairs go. there are also no chairs or Anything; just bookshelves and lamps. its pretty clear you arent supposed to be in there long. dim lighting's pretty nice at least. 3/10 comfort. VERDICT: 4/10. At least it's got presentation.

> Floor of General Works: the vibe is pretty nice, if you can get past feeling like a tree on a prairie. a hawk could swoop in and snatch you or something. the towers of books could be kinda comforting for the right people, though. 4/10 ambiance. this is books. 3/10 comfort. VERDICT: 3.5/10. Don't Fall Off.

> Floor of History: its pretty busy, but the kind of busy where it just kinda turns into comforting background noise. its like the equivalent of having on cafe noises to study or sleep to. less of a "lulling you to sleep" sort of deal and more of a "i am so tired i could literally pass out sitting up." and then you do. might be a little much, but if you can find a nice corner somewhere it might be refreshing. nice little power nap. 7/10 ambiance. not Really the most conducive to taking a nap physically-- best you've got is facedown on the desk. which, honestly, isnt too bad. theyre nice desks. could make yourself a little hidey hole with the books sitting around. just be careful not to let anyone spot you. 7/10 comfort. VERDICT: 7/10. Respectably cozy for a quick pick-me-up.

> Floor of Technological Sciences: the light from the windows is probably jarring as hell, but away from that is pretty nice honestly. a bit uniform for my own liking, but the dim light looks like it'd do wonders. cant imagine how anyone doesn't already get sleepy working in there. 7/10 ambiance. the geaaaarrrsssss.... good luck getting any actual sleep with That nonsense going on 24/7. also i dont think theres a Single non-90 degree angle in the entire floor besides the gears, (which you Really shouldnt be sleeping near,) which i cant imagine does anyone's backs any favors. not a single good desk in sight beyond yesods, and i dont think hed take kindly to sharing this way. also that is the most uncomfortable looking couch i have ever seen. 2/10 comfort. VERDICT: 4.5/10. Almost, buddy. Bring your own pillow. And earplugs.

> Floor of Literature: the little ceiling lights are absolutely Lovely. could argue for it being too bright, but honestly that's an easy fix. its comfy in the way a school library is-- honestly one of the more inviting floors to be on. its practically Begging for a nap tbh. very neat and comfortable. 8/10 ambiance. girl how small is that table???? even with leniency for art style with the size, the chair backs barely reach th edge of the table. looks like youd be ppppretty squished sleeping there. doesn't look like theres many other notable spots to sneak your way into either, so its the table or the floor. one way or another you are waking up as if youve been hit by a truck. 3/10 comfort. VERDICT: 5.5/10. Very polite and comfy, but oh Man is that gonna mess you up later.

> Floor of Art: YEAH BABEY!!!!! very dim but with several soft light sources, the loose and comfortable feel of the place-- this is what its all about honestly. the paintings and such are a nice touch as well. chances are, no ones gonna really bat an eye if they catch you asleep here. it just feels like the place for it. the natural look must be very nice after everything, too. 9/10 ambiance. those floorboards are Going to kill you. cant imagine trying to walk in there without tripping. not a lot of obvious places to set up, but if youre feeling brave you can probably nest up in a pile of books somewhere. on the other hand, theres probably all sorts of little spaces and nooks to tuck into if youre crafty. as someone who would enjoy sleeping in a cabinet, can approve. 6/10 comfort. VERDICT: 7.5/10. He gets a 10/10 in MY heart. Taking that back pain like a CHAMP.

> Floor of Natural Sciences: the same kind of comfort as an old ladys guest room. aka i Wish i could take a nap there. only caveat is the blinding light coming in from pretty much everywhere. its like trying to sleep with an open curtain, but like... all the time. looks like itd smell nice in there, at least. 7/10 ambiance. has actually comfy-looking chairs! seems like thered be a few places you could manage to tuck into comfortably in a corner someplace with a cushion or something. also one of (maybe the only?) floors that actually has carpeting! so no getting woken up by footsteps, or having to sleep on floorboards. 7/10 comfort. VERDICT: 7/10. Probably like sleeping in a sunbeam. Equally disorienting when Tiph inevitably gets at you for slacking off.

> Floor of Language: its kinda scruffy looking, but if youre not bothered by that it looks like it might be pretty comforting actually. i wont explain. lightings pretty nice as long as youre not looking directly out the window. soundscape might not be horrible, its a bit of a coinflip with the industrial look though. caveat? cigarette smoke... 7/10 ambiance. Comfy! Looking! COUCH!!! you Are passing out on that thing whether you want to or not. also you could probably have a nice time tucking up against the windowsill if you can handle the brightness. might even be warm. im kinda surprised actually. 8/10 comfort. VERDICT: 7.5/10. I could swear I've fallen asleep here before. Minus the um. Lava. But you get what I mean.

> Floor of Social Sciences: this place looks like a memory. this is the type of sleep youd get where youre briefly kinda disoriented on where you are for a while. ive gotta imagine the water sounds pretty nice too. and the coffee smells! can you imagine?? theres probably all sorts of small talk going on in the background, just a few people stopping by here and there to exchange pleasantries over a drink. i gotta stop here, i Will just keep going. 10/10 ambiance. i need to bump this up at least a little due to the theme alone. im listening while writing these and the sheer wave of peace it always brings is indescribable. howeverrrrr... return of The Couch. you Cannot convince me that thing is made of any sort of remotely soft material. at least its got pillows. on the other hand, you get good windowsill access (REALLY good windowsill too,) AND bar access. must be nice to find a quiet corner in, too. 8/10 comfort. VERDICT: 9/10. Is anyone honestly surprised. (But still, jeez dude.)

> Floor of Philosophy: the dim lighting AND the ceiling stars??? dude... its a bit quiet, but quiet in the way a classroom is after-hours. a silent sort of welcoming. if youre able, Nothing is going to bother you in there. this is where you go to Rest. 9/10 ambiance. girl there is NOWHERE to sleep. other than like the table. also is that just... water? on the floor? i appreciate the aesthetic deeply, but um. i dont think thats very nap conducive. the floor is probably wood but it looks almost like stone with how its shaped. cant imagine your back would thank you after that one. table's not too bad at least. 6/10 comfort. VERDICT: 7.5/10. The equivalent of passing out in a therapist's office. Hope you're ready for an in-depth personal conversation when you wake up.

> Floor of Religion: this looks like a principals office. cant shake the feeling of mild yet stern disapproval coming from this place. on the other hand, it Does feel Very secure. id imagine thered be at least faint clock ticking-- That has to be pretty nice. if youre the right person, i guess. the occasional ceiling light is pretty nice, but its already pretty bright in there. youll fall asleep in here and either feel like no time has passed at all after several hours or feel like its been an eternity after 5 minutes. no in-between. 5/10 ambiance. there is Nowhere to Sleep. maybe the stairs if youre cool with having to sleep against the railing, but also that Is a tripping hazard, and nobody likes a tripping hazard. has a similar problem to yesods floor, in that everything is Very straight-laced and proper, meaning there is like... nowhere comfortable to sit. other than like one desk and a table or two maybe. 3/10 comfort. VERDICT: 4/10. okay okay so lets make a few things clear: I haven't played every zelda game, so my opinions on the boys are mostly based on vibes or my personal headcanons for them! For reference, I've played a lot of modern loz games, but not a lot of the old ones. so take my opinions with the biggest grain of salt :]

We'll go in ascending order of good boy to scrimblo, because i love the dramatics.

9. Good Lad - Time.

Okay, I'm so sorry to all the OoT and MM enjoyers out there, but I do not care for these games. I have no attachment to them, and growing up on the internet in the late 2000s and early 2010s, where everyone and their mom acted like OoT was the tits with fries, has forever kinda ruined my relationship with those games. I acknowledge what they did for the series, and that they're important for 3D Zelda's as a whole, but holy shit. People on the internet were OBNOXIOUS

That being said, I still love Time! I'm more attached to him via the Hero's Shade rather than his own games, but I still like him regardless. I don't have many thoughts on him though past enjoying that he acts like a perpetually old man. Yknow that one post thats like "hey grandpa." "THE WARRR" "okay." Thats him.

Overall, 10/10 lad, I enjoy him a lot and I feel like he'd be nice to me so we're even steven.

8. Gooder Lad - Warriors.

It's been so long since I've played Hyrule Warriors, and I never played its DLC because I was a poor teenager at the time, but I appreciate the captain a lot! He's only higher than Time because I've actually played his games, so a technicality really.

Otherwise I love this slightly arrogant but otherwise whole and good hearted fella, and I love it when people give him dragon imagery. I also like to think he might be the most normal guy out of the entire group, like he's got a 401K and a retirement organized back in his time, so when he talks to everyone else and learns that they're literally just wild children he's like "huh. hm."

7. Gooby Lad - Wind.

THE GROUP BABEY!! THE ITTY BITTY FELLA!! Love him, love him so much. It's been years since I played Wind Waker and I never played Phantom Hourglass, but I loved this guys whole 100+ personality and everything. And dude, his whole journey being one fueled by personal stakes to get his sister back? Love it, absolutely love it.

I like to think he's the group baby at 13, with Four being 14, and it pisses him off endlessly. He wants to grow up so he can be of use to everyone around him, but little does he know that everyone wants to protect him because they want him to enjoy his youth, not like the rest of them who lost it in some form or another. Overall, excellent lad.

6. Goodest Lad - Four.

Again, did not play this dude's games, but I read the Four Swords manga so I'm a bit more familiar with his whole vibe. Hell a couple of years ago I did a headcanon post on how he divides into four people (based on personality theories), and I like his depth because of it.

I also love how he's probably given too much responsibility because of his maturity within the group, he's still a kid but because he acts a lot older sometimes the others just kinda forget. I also like to think that when he's having an internal/emotional issue he'll write up a note, split himself, and let the four figure it out. they'll find the note and it says some shit like "20 minutes. Figure it out. (please)"

Also he's excellent material for the burnt out gifted child. Love that for him.

5. The slightest of scrimblo - Hyrule

THIS DUDEEEE a few years ago I kinda dipped back into LU for a bit and found this artist that made some fucking like. renaissance shit for him and that's what unlocked my love for this dude. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the artist so i must live with the memory.

I really like how alone he was in his journey, how he only had the land and nature itself to guide him and offer comfort. Love how when he enters a bigger group he has to learn how to work in that setting, alongside maybe come out of his wilderness tended shell. Also I like to think that his possible fae traits make him a bit more uncanny than people realize.

4. A bit more blorbo - Sky

Eepy guy (just like me FRRR), overall fatigued but still kind hearted fella, I love it. I loved his game (fuck you Arin Hansen /j), and I love the personal stakes he has in that game as well. It's actually the only LoZ game that makes me a ZeLink truther, because otherwise I'm neutral on it.

What I also enjoy about him a lot is the untapped terrifying energy he could have. He's a god-killer, Hylia's Chosen Hero, he may not show it a lot, but I think he has the potential to really fuck some shit up but chooses kindness. I would love to write something someday where he's forced to choose otherwise.

But yeah squishy soft guy oh my goodness wubwuwbuwbuwbwubwb :33333

3. Blorbo parasitism - Wild.

The first parasite. The first brainworm on this list. I need to get an anti-parasite antibiotic.

OBVIOUSLY all the angst and buildup from his games is so much fun. I love when he has an internal crisis of going back to who he was 100 years ago, a quiet and burdened knight, or allowing himself to remain free-spirited and a bit deranged that his new life has given him. It's such a fun dynamic. And of course, I love his bond with Twilight. I think he needs someone to set him on the right path every once in awhile.

I also like to think he has a subtle undead quality to him. Similar to his mentor, something is inherently wrong with him on a spiritual or magical level, but that's for later. (maybe)

2. The ultimate stink - Twilight.

THE GUY!!! MY FAVORITE GUY!! No matter what he will always be the number 1 Link incarnation in my heart. I love him so much and when things get rough I just gotta be like "Twilight wouldn't want this for me" and keep on fuck it we ballin.

The untapped ANGST and TRAUMA from his journey drives me insane, I literally could write a whole essay about the shit he endured and how that must have affected him. I wanna write something one day about it but alas, perpetually tired, and I'm nervous about my writing so wheh.

Also I like to think he's horror adjacent. Don't ask me why, I couldn't tell you, but he has the same vibe as the dog from The Thing (1982) to me and I love that for him.

Actual fucking war criminal parasite in my head GET OUT GET OUT GET OUTTTT - Legend.

UGH this fucker. Who let this guy in???? Kill him, smasha with rock.

But on a serious note, while I finished his games (only really played ALBW), the depth he has from those adventures intrigues me endlessly. I love his bitter exterior yet still warm and kind heart, I love characters who act mean but are genuinely good deep down, they just need time to show it.

Also something possesses me when I draw him that makes him look so much more cunty than he actually is and I don't know what it is. I'm sorry for this, I cannot fight what the universe is clearly telling me to do.

He only outrights Twilight rn, because otherwise he would switch places with him. For now he's in my head and I'm shining sunlight on him through a magnifying glass like he's an ant on the pavement. Something Will Happen To Him if I have anything to say about it.

oh we love a random thought <3 you're so right with this too! i think the big difference is in their attitudes like. regardless of the fact that both of them did literally die at one point, jace does have a bit of a death wish and combined with his arrogance, he has a tendency to face danger and death with that middle finger emoji vibe. while for simon it's much quieter because boy's just trying to survive. and like for most of tmi he is already dead. he didn't come back to life like jace did. people are just trying to kill him more. so it's not like he has proof he can cheat death etc., or at least it isn't as blatant. and it isn't something he would necessarily view as being something to brag about. like we see that in tfsa. he doesn't have the shadowhunter arrogance and esp not the herondale cockiness and i think that all kinda accumulates and dictates how each of their abilities to "cheat death" are perceived.

I really enjoyed this episode! I LOVED the focus on Paul, seeing him struggle with accepting parts of his role but ultimately slaying :). Also I'm so glad that everything worked out with the ex wife, that he wasn't actually trying to poison anyone xD, but that ended was rough :'(((. Poor Tommy and Trevor 😭. And Melody, too :(. Anyway, the calls were super fun (and I'm so glad that lady survived 😭🥺❤️), and it was a great time all around :).

Now it's time for the individual parts!

Wyatt! We didn't see too much of him but he was great :D. I love his response and the way he talked to the robot/auto call lol. He was great at his job, as always (and thank goodness - we need that from 911 operators and we luckily get that with the 911 shows <3). I love him ❤️ <3.

Carlos! We only got to see him in the nightmare, but I'm glad we saw him at all :). I miss him ty <33. I'm sure he was doing great at his job somewhere in the real world lol. I love him ❤️.

Mateo and Marjan! The sillies your honor <33. They did great at their jobs today, and I'm so glad they were so supportive of Paul 🥰. Also congrats to Mateo once again on not being the probie anymore 🥳. I know he hasn't been for a while but he was still the most junior/most recent one xD. I love them <3.

Judd! It's rough that he has to be a probie instead of going back to where he was (not a lieutenant necessarily but a full firefighter), but it is a cool layer :)). It's great to see that he's doing well with it, though (though Judd you need to take care of yourself!! Not always just canned beans please <33), and is humble and knows his place :). Like, not in a mean way, or that he shouldn't be respected, but he's not getting uppity about it and even specifically trying to do those jobs so I appreciate it <3. I love him so much 🥰❤️.

Nancy and TK! They're so SILLYYY!! These gossips are too crazy for their own (or anyone else's, specifically Tommy's here lol) good xD. But I love them so much lol <3 ❤️. I'm glad they assured Tommy that she wasn't crazy, but they were pretty immediately jumping to the conclusion(s) of crime lol. Maybe don't do that as much in the future xD. Nonetheless, they were being icons, and they were also great at their jobs this episode :D (as they always are, of course). They were being a little silly sometimes but I vibe with it lol, I love them <3.

Owen! I really appreciated him trusting Paul and letting him figure it out, but also giving him advice. Also of course he was a lieutenant early lol 🙄 xD. He's so silly sldkdjs. Also his fist pump into the air after the compliment sandwich thing xD icon. Anyway, I'm glad he gave Paul a chance to explain and didn't just totally go off at him <3. I know he knows Paul's got this but I'm just so glad he gave him a push and a chance, because Paul really does have this, and I believe in him so much <3. Also, the whole coffee thing at the beginning was hilarious xD. Poor Owen and Judd lol. I love him <3.

Tommy (and Trevor)! The whole thing with the possible poisoning was craazyyy o.o. Again, I'm glad it wasn't actually the ex wife (although she was absolutely being shady, and she shouldn't have so obviously - or at all - blamed Tommy, but whatever 😑 xD), but it sucks that it was Melody :((. And poor girl 😭😭🥺. I feel so bad :(. Obviously I wish she wasn't poisoning people, and I wish she could/wanted to stay for everyone's sake, but this is what's best for her :(. And of course, I'm glad Trevor would go with her - she deserves that. But that scene at the end :(( 😭😭😭💔. It sucks that Tommy and Trevor have to break up for that <333 💔💔. Neither of them deserve that, but I'm glad they're putting their kids first :'(. I did definitely think it was a possibility for Tommy to go at the end of the season, especially since it's the last season (easier to split people up, because no repercussions lol), but I'm glad she's staying <3. It just sucks :((( D: 😭. And that scene at the end 😭😭😭 GOSH, I don't deserve this guys <33. They loved each other so much, and they deserved each other and to be happy <3. But sometimes that just doesn't work out :((. I'm glad they could be civil about their breakup though, that it wasn't for a crazy reason. I love them <33 </33 💔❤️❤️.

Paul! He was so awesome this episode :D. I was TERRIFIED with the nightmare and the knowledge that he'd probably be hurt in some way from the promo, that his heart condition would be causing issues, but thankfully that wasn't it 😭😭❤️. At least not now xdd. I do think it would be more interesting (and who knows if it's this or not) if him having a nightmare was specifically because of his condition, just a symptom despite treatment (and less common now). Anyway! That nightmare sucks 😭. And is also so real to how nightmares be xD. I'm just so glad he was able to talk it out, and get his back fixed by Owen lol!! That was hilarious, and so fair xD. It would be Owen who could do that lol. Also, I'm so happy that lady and her baby were okay <33 😭❤️. I don't think I or Paul could've lived with it if she died because of him hiding his injury xdd. Also the rats thing was crazy o.o. But yeah - I really appreciate that Paul is trying to be reasonable and not abuse his rank (not that he ever would for serious reasons, maybe not even joking - unless someone ate his pudding cup lol), and now also starting to find balance with being able to be in charge and get people to do things as well :). It's really cool to see, and I totally get it personally - it's a hard line to walk sometimes, but if they're really your friends, it'll work out in the end <3. Also, Paul pretending to be fine, and especially doubling down and ignoring people's comments when he was injured - I just felt that so hard. I never want to give up or admit I can't do something, especially when people point it out. Even if I can't. As a disabled person, that just hit really hard (especially since Paul has a disability, even if it hasn't been brought up or seemed to have been affecting him recently). I love how it was portrayed <3. Brian was absolutely perfect at that, and everything this episode. Anyway, I'm also just so glad that at the end they were all like hey :) I love you :) you're still absolutely invited to game night, you're our family <3 and good job at being lieutenant ;). Love that for them, and Paul absolutely needed to hear it - so glad he got to <3 😭🥺. I love him so much <333 ❤️🥰🥰.

Overall, I really liked this episode! I had a great time with the calls and the various storylines, even if they were stressful, and I'm glad everything worked out in the end (except for Tommy - sorry, Tommy xd). Also, I just love my little fire family so much :). They're perfect <3. I know they aren't, and it was shown this episode (and every episode) and seems to be shown again next episode lol, but I don't care xD <3. I just really loved everyone supporting each other this episode, even if it was in kinda gossipy or sometimes harsher ways (as was called for). I love them all so much <3.
