Ok no I do have to make it it’s own post bc I don’t remember the book’s scene in detail but Annabeth seeing the fates cut a string at the arch is so fascinating. Bc we know that’s Luke’s string. He’s not dying soon, but it’s been decided when he will die.

The moment the fates decide that Luke will die and when is right after Percy sacrifices himself. Right after he shows Annabeth his care and loyalty. That she is worth saving. That she doesn’t deserve the wrath intended for her. A set of dominoes has just been toppled and when they all finally fall, she will stand between Luke and Percy and choose Percy. From this moment, from this early on, Luke’s fate is sealed.

I woke up ate some food did school and then I researched the Salem Witch Trials (for school) which I’d never researched before. Overall? Very interesting! Very very interesting!

And then I got sidetracked and looked into some child abuse cases from the 1980’s (not for school) and that was also very interesting—and horrifying. Luckily most of them had happy endings.

And then Tommy started streaming and he talked about very… ah. I don’t think interesting is quite the right word. But he uh. Well. He talked some some stuff. Which was very. Ah.

Overall, it’s been a very strange day.

the funny thing to me about wyll being described as the most normal guy in the party of tadfools is that he is only “normal” in a comparative sense. of course he looks like the most sensible, trustworthy individual here, look at the batshit insane people he surrounds himself with. it’s easy to come off as sane at first glance when everyone he knows is pissing off gods and violating the faerûn equivalent of the geneva convention left right and center. then he drops his own wild lore out of left field— like that time he attempted grand larceny at eight years old, or that he has fond memories of reading mermaid porn his father kept hidden and can recite them from memory, and you remember that he should not, in fact, be trusted to make wise decisions if left unattended.
