Eris Vanserra and my OC Alexius. I commissioned this to celebrate the end of my fanfic Pull Me in Deeper, and @jennastokesart absolutely blew me away. This is exactly how I picture them and they are both so beautiful and sexy. Check out under the cut for close-ups and more details, and you can read all of my Eris x Alexius works here.

Okay, but seriously? Have you seen prettier faces? I love Eris' pouty lips and snatched jaw line, and I'm obsessed with Alexius' beauty mark and subtle purple eyes shadow. They are the prettiest couple in all of Prythian. She really captured their dynamic perfectly in their expressions, with Eris more severe and intimidating and Alexius leaning towards mischievous and playful.

One of the things that I asked the artist was to incorporate the leather bracelets that they give to each other in PMID. You can see here that Alexius has the red leather strap representing Eris with the moon charm that represents Lunavalles. Eris' tan leather bracelet that represents Alexius is also visible just under his sleeve. Also peep the subtle hand-holding.

The detailing on both of their clothes is really spectacular. I'm especially obsessed with the more Autumn style blouse and corset that the artist gave to Alexius to go along with the Day Court Golden sash. She really mixed Alexius' masculine and feminine styling choices perfectly. And of course, I had to get a close up on Eris' cunty arm on his sword.

The Eris fandom has really been so warm and welcoming. I wasn't sure what my place would be in it. When I first looked up Eris x Male OC on the AO3 tags, there were 7 fics and most did not have that tag as the focus. So I really wasn't sure if there would be people that wanted to read what I wanted to write. But everyone I have met has really embraced and supported me. I can honestly say that starting to write for Eris has made me a better writer and a lot of that has to do with all of you, reading your works, and interacting with you on tumblr and in comments on AO3.

I'm really excited to share with you all more of my Eris x Alexius works for Eris week! I have some really fun, sexy, and even heart wrenching fics planned which you can see the summaries on my masterlist preview here. I also have some commissions that I can't wait to share!

Alexius stands out as one of the few male OCs in the community, and the dynamic between him and Eris is nothing short of captivating. Think forced proximity, delicious yearning, witty banter, political intrigue, and all the tension you could dream of. What inspired you to start creating content about Eris?  I became curious about writing Eris after he was featured in some of my Elucien fics. When I started my multichapter Elucien fic Summer Heat, I decided that I would give him a male love interest in that fic and create an OC - which ended up being Alexius who you see featured in all of my Eris work. I originally intended for it to be a background relationship, but I decided to experiment and write the scene of their first meeting (a very smutty scene) just to do some character exploration. I didn’t intend to include it in the fic, but then once I wrote it, I knew that it was something special and Eris x Alexius became a true B storyline in that fic with a fully fleshed out love story. After that, I wanted to expand and write fics that focused on them which I've written several now and more to come for Eris Week! It's a bit niche. Hardly anyone writes Eris x Male OC but I'm obsessed now.

What's your favorite piece you've created featuring Eris and why? 

That would be my Eris x Alexius multichapter fic - Pull Me in Deeper. I love it because it was a way for me to explore Eris’ character when he is out of the watchful eye of his father and others in Prythian. It’s also just a fun action/adventure/romance story and I got to explore more lore and character building for my OC Alexius as well. Alexius was designed to be, in my opinion, the perfect person for Eris and that means often standing in contrast to a lot of his personality traits and pushing him outside of his comfort zone. So it was an incredibly fun dynamic to explore. And it’s two gay men who are on a quest to find out (*spoilers*) if unicorns exist XD.

How do you approach writing dialogue for Eris? 

I tend to lean into Eris being more careful with his words - so he is sharp, concise, and efficient in his word choice. Depending on who he’s sharing a scene with and the context, he can be severe and short or he can be long-winded and eloquent. And of course, he has banter and jabs a plenty. So I try to balance all those sides of him depending on the context.

Do you have any advice for other creators wanting to make Eris content? 

Eris inhabits a unique space in canon where he is truly a free agent when it comes to relationships. So, I would recommend if you want to write romances with Eris to lean into self-indulgence and write the pairing/story you really want to tell and try to let go of what you think will be popular. And if that ends up being Eris x OC rather than a canon character, know that it can actually be such a rewarding experience even if you don’t have a built in audience. Creating an OC to pair with Eris has been immensely fun and has broadened my creativity. Eris is a complex, interesting character with so many layers and building someone to fit him and find out what is underneath all of those layers can lead you down quite an obsessive path. But a fun one. 

Please give us a name for one of Eris’s Brothers

Kian. He is the third oldest and is more of a scholarly type. Now that second brother Conan is dead, he is next in line after Eris.

Please give us a name for one of Eris's Dogs.

Lithia. She just had puppies in PMID and Eris is worried about her.

Eris Week OC Project: Alexius

Alexius is an OC by @zenkindoflove. He features in Summer Heat, Autumn Leaves and Day Dreams.

Alexius is the only male in our collection this time around. He's an emissary from the Day Court who likes to flirt and make friends. He enjoys playing with gender expression, fashion, pretty accessories and of course, Eris.

@zenkindoflove Amanda, you are an incredibly gifted writer and your OC Alexius is an absolute gem. This fic was written so beautifully from start to finish, and I am blown away by your creativity in creating such a profound story line following Eris and Alexius that is so captivating, touching, moving, thought-provoking and overall stunning.

There were so many moments while reading your story that I broke down in tears because of how you pulled me into caring so deeply for these characters and their feelings and struggles throughout. There were plenty of moments that I was laughing out loud and giddy with excitement for them as well. I experienced the entire gamut of emotions, which as a reader, is one of the greatest pleasures to feel the whole spectrum of emotions at different points throughout reading a story. From intrigue, joy, and excitement, to anger, grief and sorrow to name a few. The intimate scenes between them are delicious as well and I couldn’t get enough, just like them hehe 😘 You truly know how to tell a mesmerizing story, like all of your fics that I have thoroughly enjoyed reading so much so far! ☺️

Thank you for bringing Alexius into being, for creating such a complex and beautiful individual, a character who is so full of light and love that I truly adore with all my heart and soul. I can tell how much love and devotion you poured into his character and background, along with their love story.❤️

Lex truly is the perfect male for Eris, and I wish he really existed within Prythian. I will thoroughly indulge in your other fics that debut them because I love them so much and I am hooked! 😍

As 2024 closes, I wanted to shout out all the artists who have made really beautiful and creative Eris x Alexius fanart this year. I wanted to put all the fanarts of them side by side to see for myself the creative, diverse ways that people visualize them. I have loved every depiction of them together, and it's been amazing to see how people bring out their different characteristics and personalities through their art. These two together felt like something that only lived in my head that I tried to convey through my words. You all brought them to life in a way that captured the magic I always pictured. 1. What does your OC smell like? (e.g. petrichore and spring flowers; leather and pipe tobacco; lavender and salt)

I actually have this in my recent chapter of ACOEAS! Jesminda snells like spiced apples and honey, with a hint of something musky, like oud or incense. Here’s a good perfume I found on fragrantica.com that I think is almost perfect

2. If they could sing any song for karaoke, what would it be? (e.g., Bohemian Rhapsody, Shake it Out)

3. Give an example of something they might wear. You can use a moodboard, description - sky's the limit on this one.

I shared a bunch of pics for her fashion style on this post! Modern and traditional South asian style with classic Autumn colors like reds, browns, oranges, creams, and yellows.

4. Someone hits on your OC, and it's someone not their type (but also not creepy). How do they respond?

Oooooh haha I feel like she would be stern but polite, and she might poke around and play “devil’s advocate” where she not really leads the person in but like…asks brutal questions that get the person all frazzled up. “So what do you see in me?” “Are you just looking for a quick fuck?” And then she would straight up say she’s not interested. And depending on how annoyed she is, she would get a little disgusted curl of her lip as she listens to the person talk and she would just look so amused and uninterested and it’s just so brutal 😂😂😭

5. Someone hits on your OC, and it IS someone that's their type. How do they respond?

Honestly….she would act like what I said in the previous question where she’s brutal and kind of looks like she’s not really interested but she also laughs and moves closer to said person. I feel like her physical appearance and reactions are clear signs of if she’s interested or not. And she is incredibly flirtatious and teasing. Basically see chapter 7 of ACOEAS 😂👀

6. What's your OC's favorite color?

A sunflower yellow! 🌻

7. What would they do for a living in a modern world? (Alternatively, if they ARE modern, what would they do for a living in a medieval fantasy world?)

This is pretty easy haha she works on an apple farm, and she would still work on an apple farm in a modern AU. I feel like she would love to do haunted corn-mazes or hay wagon tours while she’s moving around and interacting with people.

8. What's their favorite cocktail?

Jesminda has a huge sweet tooth I feel like! Her favorite cocktail would be something fall themed (with no apples though) and insanely sweet. I feel like this pumpkin chai manhattan is her favorite.
