Hi I’m here to start your week off with two flavors of handsome boy!!

Here are two of the Red Bandits. Saishi a Troll pirate / spearman, who uses earth magic to manipulate bone, and Sornal a Nomad paladin, who uses healing fire magic via heat and light.

These two are actually some of my oldest OCs ever. I had put them into Ocean of Cycles a couple years back, but felt like I lost something in translation. Recently a heart-to-heart talk with @beedalee helped me realize what I was missing, she adopted my OC Lerl, and I redid the boys’ designs a little closer to what they used to look like (which...i’m including in the read more for yucks) Just a long-winded way to say I really missed these kids, and I’m honestly hyped about them now!

lkjhfsdf I’m screaming @ my 14 year old art... my silhouettes were fucking unintelligible back then MAN I LOVED SPIKES AND HUGE FEET. Most of these are some of my earliest attempts at digi art back when I first learned how to use a damn scanner, but I had tried to redesign Saishi several times even into college which is where the far right pic comes from

TBH i’m just super rambling now, but redesigning these two has been an almost spiritual experience for me. I tried putting their essences into other OCs of mine, thinking if I scratched the creative itch of glowy-golden-eyed-scarred-up-asian-bad-boi (kye lmao) and moppy-haired-sunshine-smile-but-still-a-badass-cute-guy (shii) I would be satisfied and could retire these old old OCs forever. But there are just some things that don’t translate I guess? My muse wouldn’t leave and I missed having an outlet for these specific characters. And I’m just... happy for it. Welcome back you two scamps I really missed you

hmmm I’ll go with chotal since I don’t talk about her as much as I should

because she’s softspoken and courteous, people often assume she’s humble, this is categorically incorrect. she’s actually very confident in her abilities and knowledge. she gives people the benefit of the doubt once and if they ignore or belittle her they get roundly ignored as she sails off to do things her way, possibly with lots of force quakes

when she was sixteen she looked for her parents and sent them a small sum of credits and a formal thank you for giving her up to the temple. that’s the only real contact she’s had with them, though she does have some siblings somewhere in the galaxy

she was taken in by the jedi very young, mostly because she had an unnerving amount of power

as a padawan she was so much trouble - the combination of a lot of power, a hunger to learn more and casual disregard for rules and disapproval meant she was everyone’s headache. that she was polite while sneaking out of lessons and convincing jedi to leave her alone was the worst part of it

she is a terrible lightsaber duellist and only knows the basics of shii-cho and niman forms. she uses it more for the utility of being able to cut through nearly everything than for actual battle. tfw ur glowing sword is a plasma lockpick

she abhors the dark side but doesn’t believe in destroying any knowledge, not matter how forbidden, and has fought the council over the keeping of sith holocrons and artifacts

in her opinion, anything and anyone can be turned to the light with time and understanding. the sith can’t be fought from the galaxy - they have to be turned and healed. ask tol braga how that went, chotal…

she’s aiming to be the first to research esh-kha culture. as soon as she finished up on corellia she took a few months off to help hallow voice find a planet to settle on and then stayed there to Learn

after tharan made a bet with her to not force persuade anyone for a month, she’s found out that she really likes trying to bluff her way out of situations, though she’s also not very good at it…

she mails and visits syo regularly, and she insists on telling him about what she’s been doing and asking for his advice with diplomatic situations. it’s honestly really sweet
