Fangfest 2024 - Day Eight - The Chariot

Christian Octavio is the muscle of the Stakebait coterie, former Sabbat shovelhead (a Gangrel Thinblood) who before that was a runaway from a powerful family. Christian wasn't the name his family gave him, but it's the name he picked out and the name his friends call him. He's also the day-drinker, able to move in sunlight without fear of death, though at the cost of being completely exhausted at the end of the evening when his friends are all awake.

Christian is the Chariot, a card that depicts a brave warrior inside of a vehicle. He attempts to maintain control through his will, and is determined to find success in his actions. Christian despite his grumpy demeanor and distant attitude loves his coterie and is staunchly pro-Thinbloods, and with the kick in the pants the new blood Khloe has given the team, he is more determined than ever for the successful upheaval of the Camarilla.

So I haven’t posted Chariot now haven’t I? Talk about being so in the middle he doesn’t know where he belong. His personality is heavily inspired by Smokescreen, young, cocky, excitable, naive, unexperienced ect… His helmet is supposed to be based on a Roman helm btw and has traits from several different bots from the show. I can imagine his voice being close to Ben Schwartz’s Sonic, talkative, chipper, and quick with a quip.

Originally a human stunt plane that gained sentience from an all-spark shard and is well, what else would you expect from an adrenaline-junkie stunt vehicle? Wild and carefree, he is a teenager at heart and if bumblebee thought with his thrusters, Chariot is so much worse. Stupid kids amiright?

Way way back in my first ever angeltober post (2023, Halo) I mentioned that my interpretation of Michael's character led me to attribute fiery, destructive miracles to his intervention.

Well, I assigned the lightning at Mount Carmel to him, SO I figured I should continue the story with him tormenting the crap out of King Ahab. Sky turns dark, lightning flashes, illuminating Michael's silhouette, lazily keeping pace with the king's chariot. Meanwhile, Ahab's struggling to see through the mud and rain, terrified of the supernatural power he just witnessed on Carmel, and this six-winged freak of nature decides that this whole rainstorm isn't personal enough, Ahab needs a special little gift... So Micheal yoinks one of Ahab's horses off his chariot. Just throws the poor thing to its death. RIP random horse, you deserved better than that 😔

Ahab somehow manages to steady his chariot as the prophet Elijah pulls further ahead. The king, mad with rage and terror, calls out to Michael in challenge. Michael, shocked at the sheer stupidity of the man, wheels back around, tears Ahab off his chariot, and the remaining horse runs off in panic. Michael throws Ahab on the ground, trusting that the storm will finish what he cannot (because Prophecy Reasons) and leaves to shield Elijah from the worst of the tempest. Ahab is left in the mud, half-drowned, with a broken arm and several fractured ribs. Ahab survives to cause more conflict ofc, much to Michael's disappointment lmao. Still, it's a fun scene and I hope to animate it one day!!!
