Ravena Soilia 🖤💀 - The last Ravenblood of Waterdeep

A new character sheet for Ravena, my DnD/BaldursGate3 necromancer Oc!

A summary of her story:

-Half a Ravenblood, still a Ravenblood-

- Born in Waterdeep, Faerûn, Ravena is the last of the Ravenbloods in the city, a family hunted for their dark magic and curses. There's a century old rivalry between them and her mother’s wizard family, the Soilias. The Ravenbloods disappeared out of Faerûn one day and with them, her father, leaving no trace. After her mother's sudden death, Ravena was raised by her controlling uncle Morgryn. She grew up isolated and her magic studies were controlled by him.

Only when she was sent to Blackstaff Academy she regained a bit of freedom. After being followed by a talking raven, her uncle put a protection spell on her and finally told her about her other part of the family. Driven by curiosity about her father and her Ravenblood roots, she secretly learned necromancy to unlock a magic book hidden in her mother's room. After many years of failed attempts, self-teaching, and learning from shady Necromancers in the city, she finally masters the spell uncovering a location which leads her to the cursed raven named Raku, who claims to have worked with her father. Cursed by his master Thanesios for failing his mission, he is stuck in this raven form. Together, they promise to help each other to uncover the truth about her family, and break Raku's curse. Their journey begins, unknown to the fact what really made the Ravenbloods disappear. -

I plan to give her uncle and Raku's master their designs too! Bare with me and with what's to come, hopefully time allows it 🖤

BRUM! my good friend brum. he is, indeed, very flauschig, which is why he earned the name! a friend of him gave it to him after he was banished from his warband.

now i don't remember his backstory too much becuase i dont know if i ever wrote it down (of course, why would i write down oc lore) BUT i do have the names of his former warband as well as a few memories popping up into my head as i write this.

his warband was the blood warband (charr lore pros look away, because ive heard that warbands cant share a name with the legions- i do not care if thats true). his name was brum bloodfur and the names of the other members were: leonard bloodthirst, a reaper and leader of the band; galaxea bloodcall, a scourge; ravena bloodseeker, ranger; and tar bloodfang, who first was a thief but then became a revenant and changed their name to tar dragonblood instead. do not ask me for more info on any of these people because i do not remember shit.

what i do remember is that brum met lysania and violett one day, a sylvari and a human, and they all became friends and would travel together. his warband found out about this and were quite disapproving of this very strong friendship between him and a human of all people, and leonard told him to choose: a random human (and salad) he had just met and could barely trust, or the warband he grew up with.

he chose his new friends. its a shame that eventually violett would betray lys and brum and destroy this group forever, or at least for a long time, and brum would be left without his friends and without his warband.

isnt that sad well i wont leave it at that. here's a GREAT funfact about this guy: i created him on my 13th birthday!

Through the fanart my attention was drawn to the oc of @faerietale-mcl, Ravena, she got me at the dark clothing and rebellious design. And I just had to try my luck.

Finding people who still love Ivan after his route is tough. Personally, I liked it, it got me involved and emotional, even if it wasn't always in the good way (the past lover trope didn't irk me at all). Luckily he is still a baby bean on the other routes and makes me want to smother him in hugs and blankets so I guess it's alright.

late-night WIP I have been chipping away at VERY slowly cuz video games and the heat lately have just been sucking the soul out of my body tbh, so I mostly only draw for a bit when we’re watching movies at night lmao

also I... I’m thinking about retiring using this pencil brush for stuff of this scale in the future because as much as I love how it looks, it is just SO much work to do any kind of ‘real’ lineart with 💀💀

Thinking about my Hawkes and the fact that my disaster magical garbage fire falls for Cassandra purely by chance. Like

100% committed to disliking her on principle in the “so YOU’RE the one who interrogated my dear friend Varric.”

Is NOT dear friends with Varric, who merely tolerates him because his twin sister Vivian IS best friends with Varric. Cassandra doesn’t have to know that though.

Did not expect to be greeted by a punch to the face, barely had a chance to dodge, almost got his nose broken a fourth time.

Varric was purposely vague when describing the Hawke siblings. “You’ve seen one Hawke, you’ve seen all five.” so Carver and Gavin are wandering Skyhold looking for Varric and walk right past Cassandra, who had a very different mental image in her head as to what the Champion of Kirkwall looked like.

I’m putting both Hawkes in Skyhold longer than they were in-game, so there’s plenty of opportunities for interaction (Gavin immediately teases Carver for making googly eyes at the resident surgeon, one Ada Trevelyan. Carver tells Gavin to fuck off in reply.)

Gavin was also 100% ready to sacrifice himself in order to give everyone time to run in the Fade. Carver went “yeah, NOPE. Noble death or not, I’m dragging your ass back. Our sisters would murder me if I came home without you.” and fireman carries Gavin over his shoulder. The both of them flip off the nightmare as they jump through the fade rift.

“I’m glad you made it back in one piece.” “What, so you can interrogate me for my version of things?” “Ugh, you can be so DIFFICULT. I just wanted to say I’m glad you’re alive- you know what? Forget it.” Leads to Gavin apologizing for being an ass and an invite for drinks on his tab as a way to make up for it.

Gavin, even with his thrice-broken nose, is a looker and despite his whole pushing people away before they go and start relying on him (and are inevitably disappointed in him) he’s a good guy and Cassandra’s in the middle of something completely different when she has the “oh. Oh no” realization.

Varric wastes zero time writing to his BFF Vivian with a “VIV HOLY SHIT GUESS WHAT” letter.
