YOU CAN'T ESCAPE YOUR NIGHTMARES

In 2067, the head of F.I.N. Engineering would bring his son to Freddy's Sweet Treat Circus, where the young boy's sister worked as a mechanic. While playing in the arcade, a scream rang across the building and the small group ran to find the source. What they found was the girl had been mauled to death and dragged into the parts and service room by Peppermint Balloon Boy, who was in a malfunctioned attack mode. After tasering Peppermint BB into a docile state, they investigated the room and found that the girl's body had disappeared.

Standing behind his father and witnessing the horrific event was the girl's brother. Traumatized by what he saw and distraught by his sister's death, he suffered horrible nightmares for many years. The nightmares themselves containing horrifying and twisted versions of the animatronics, most of them transforming into monsters no longer built with metal and circuit boards. Each of the characters appearing individually in dreams within their own distorted domain.

They are called the Night Terrors, sweet dreams!

roll cannot hands-on-hips, i guess that’s what the extra bit of assembly was about.  however, she is still the only one who can hold things, and that bothers me. no parfait for u, rockman

i have been selling re-ment furniture onward for ages because nothing i have comes close to being able to use the squat, not-actually-1/12 proportions.  if it turns out the smp navis are in-range enough to use the chairs i s2g

to sum it up, they’re smol!  (roll is actually a biiiit smoller than rockman, and she doesn’t have the weird love handles that rockman got stuck with.  whY...?) they’re sassy!  (if anything rockman has the potential to be sassier than roll, since he can swing his arm out and hands-on-hips u for not going to bed at a reasonable hour.)  if you are waiting on kotobukiya roll, it might take a while, so content yourself in the meantime with this set.  go forth, order some cheapo godhand 125 nippers, and subject your thumbs to building these little guys.  you won’t regret it once the soreness fades away, i promise.

Jonathan Hopper-Byers isn't in today Nancy Wheeler notes, waving goodbye to her bestfriend and taking her seat behind his empty desk.

 Joyce as always is the first to wake, he feels her shift and extract herself out of his arms pressing a kiss to his lips before heading off to shower.

 Hopper allows himself to doze, relaxing into the bed and allowing the muffled sound of running water to lull him back to sleep.

  The bed dips again and he can smell the familiar scent of their shared shampoo as Joyce presses another kiss to his lips.

 “Morning Hop”

The words are whispered unto his lips, warm and minty. He opens his eyes to see his wife, hair damp and eyes soft, she’s stunning.

  “ Morning Joyce…”

Her nose crinkles, eyes shining with teasing mischief. “ That’s quite the morning breath you’ve got there Hop”

  She’s resting on his chest, warm and toasty from her shower, there's nothing but a towel between them.

  “ Really ?” he asks, then he kisses her.

They get pretty distracted.

  “ Have you seen my keys?, i can't find them”

“ Have you checked the couch?”

 “ I have, I–, oh never mind”

They're both running late, Hopper’s hair still damp as he fixes them some toast, passing a plate to Joyce as she hurries into the kitchen with both their keys in her hands .

  “ Where? –”

“Table”

  He nods in thanks, placing them in his pocket and observing the unusually empty quiet kitchen.

“Kids coming in today?” he asks grabbing the last toasts and shutting off the machine

  “Not sure about Will or El, they checked in last night and said they'd let me know if they have to stay over to get things done, but Jonathan will be back by this evening.”

 Joyce pauses at that, a slightly perturbed expression overtaking her face. Hopper waits for her to continue

  “It's just.., Jonathan didn't check in last night but i didn't want to call, just in case he was having fun and i interrupted them or something”  she sighs “ it's his first sleepover and i just hope it going well, i really can't help but worry–”

 “Joyce”

 She stops fiddling, hands caught gently between his. He bends and kisses her forehead

 “ If it helps i'll stop by and pick him up after school and drive him over to the station, he’s been dying to get some pictures for some reason”

 Joyce huffs into his chest “I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to do that”, Hopper shrugs, he technically isn't.

   “I'm sure as the chief I can make an exception for my kid, and by tonight we’ll be back and he'll tell you all about how it went. Now c'mon we're late”

 Joyce hums in reply an amused smile on her face as he herds them out the door. A quick goodbye kiss and they're off. 

  Today is going to be a good day, Hopper thinks.

Behind them in the empty house, the lights flicker. A phone rings

 Will likes having breakfast with the Hendersons; maybe a few years ago that wouldn't be the case but that was Before and this is After so Will sits, eating the overly salted bacon Ms Henderson serves and watches. He’s good at that, at smiling softly as Dustin debates something with his mother. It’s easy, familiar watching their dynamic, he can recognise the look of love and soft adoration in Ms Henderson’s eyes towards her son, the wide warm smile she turns unto him after it becomes clear she’s won whatever argument she and Dustin were having.

  “Well then how is your project going?, do you think you two will get it done in time. Maybe then Dusty would let me see it. Oh would you like more bacon and eggs dear?”

Ms Henderson is a whirlwind, swiftly puttering around the kitchen as she talks. Will thinks she might be attempting to make cookies and abruptly realises that they should be leaving soon.

  “ Oh no thank Ms Henderson, we’ve only got a little bit left and a free period both so we should get it done then. Thank you so much for having me over, Dustin and i should be–”

 Dusty himself previously absent after stalking off to wherever finally reappears, crashing loudly into the kitchen almost knocking over a plate, their project in his hands hidden from sight.

 “Mom!, we’ve got to go or we’ll be late, i’ll fix it once i get back. Come on Will. Love you bye!”

And very much like his mum, Dustin has them bundled up out of the house with dizzying speed, a rushed goodbye and careless slam of the door, cutting off  Ms Henderson goodbyes.

 “Come on Will, we’ve got a busy busy day ahead of us. Let's move!”

With that declaration Dustin transfers the project into the backseat of his car. His current pride and joy, a vehicle Will as the son of the Chief of Police knows he most definitely should not be operating. But a vehicle Dustin operates either way, anyway between him and Max, the only two in their group who in loose definition can drive. Will has no complaints about settling into the front of Dustin’s second hand Ford.

 Dustin starts the car and puts on the radio taking a few seconds to flick through songs before eventually deciding on Super Trouper, which draws an admittedly over dramatic sight from himself.

 “Dude, ABBA really?”

    “You’re such a music snob Will, honestly it’s ridiculous” Dustin snorts, easing the car onto the road.

 “I’ve just got taste is all” he retorts and receives a snort in reply.

There’s a smile tugging at his lips as he turns his head to stare out the window. He can practically feel Dustin's shit eating grin as he begins humming obnoxiously along to the song. Will lets out an amused huff but says nothing, he doesn't really mind the song letting Dustin’s energetic warbling wash over him as he drives.

 No, he doesn't mind at all.

  Jonathan isn't here today Nancy Wheeler notes, waving goodbye to her best friend and taking her usual seat behind his empty desk. It’s unusual and Nancy can't help but like unusual things, odd things, things that don't belong, mysteries.

 Will Hopper-Byers is in she knows that much, having seen him and Dustin Henderson’s car as Holly drops them off. Mike beelines straight for his friends without even a goodbye much to Holly’s annoyance. 

 “ Alright then Nance see you in a bit. Have fun”

Nancy feels a bit a vindictive pleasure in ignoring her older sister and slamming the boot a bit too hard as she gets her bike out.The guilt however at Holly’s devastated look forces a mulish goodbye out of her mouth before she turns to leave, wheeling her bike over to the middle school bike racks.

 She’d looked up in time for Dustin to spot her, he waved a wide grin on his face and for a moment he looked like he might yell her name. Panicking Nancy had turned and sped walked away, something she feels a bit bad about. Now she's sat in history class and Jonathan isn't here, it's weird.

  Of course it occurs to Nancy that he might just be home sick but once that theory is discarded when she spots Jane Eleanor with Max Mayfield when they're outside for sports, the two are too far away to spot exactly what they're doing but the two are recognizable enough. If Jonathan were sick, either one or both of the twins would be off school, electing to stay with him instead since their parents are pretty busy, something she’d heard Mike whine about a number of times.

 Nancy doesn't quite realise how long she’s spent obsessing over Jonathan’s absence till it's lunch and Barb is squinting at her, perplexed and questioning, Nancy guesses she’s been trying to get her attention for a while.

  “Jonathan Byers isn’t in today” she blurts out, as if Barb who has more classes with him than she does wouldn't notice. She sounds more freaked out about this than she reasonably should be.

  “Its just that the twins are in but he isn’t, and those two like would never leave him alone if he were sick or something so its just weird, i don't know what i'm obsessing over it so much. Sorry what were you trying to say–”

 “Nancy” Barb cuts her off, a bemused grin on her face. “We could just go over and ask Will after school. They've got A.V club thing with Mr Clarke right?”

“Oh” 

Nancy feels a tad foolish in the face of Barb’s easy steadfastness and calm reassurance. “Right ok, we’ll do that”

 The issue is halfway resolved now so Nancy forces all her attention unto Barb and they talk.

They’ve got a plan now, it’s ok.

I want to write sex scenes within my story. I know you described elsewhere how to portray them without being smutty, but I want to put in a little more "heat" into the scenes. How could I describe body parts without it being graphic but also not using stilted technical terms?

Writing Sex Scenes with a Little More Heat

When it comes to naming body parts in sex scenes, you have four options:

1) Technical - penis, vagina, breast, etc.

2) Graphic - c*ck, c*nt, titties, etc.

3) Euphemistic - love muscle, mound, lady pillows, etc.

4) Some combination of the three...

Different readers and writers have their preferences, but many feel that technical terms are stilted, that graphic words are inelegant, or that euphemisms are corny. So, what’s left?

You don’t have to name body parts to add heat to your sex scene!

I know you may be thinking “What??? How can I write a spicy sex scene without naming body parts?” but I’m here to say YOU CAN!!! Naming body parts isn’t the thing that gives sex scenes more heat. In fact, for many readers, naming body parts can actually kill the mood. So, what gives sex scenes more heat? Emotional, sensory descriptions.

Emotion plays a HUGE role in ramping up the heat in a sex scene. Not only does it play a huge role in building the chemistry and sexual tension between the couple ahead of the sex scene, it also plays a big role during it. What is your character thinking and feeling in the moments leading up to, during, and after the sex? What emotions are they picking up from their partner? When you bring the emotions of the characters into it, you can make the reader feel those same emotions, and that alone can raise the heat.

Body language and facial expressions are part and parcel with emotional descriptions. How are their bodies responding to the sensations resulting from the sexual relations? Heavy-lidded eyes, licking one’s lips, open mouth, biting one’s lip, raising one’s hips... these visual sensory descriptions tell the reader a lot and can really spice things up.

Sound is another important sensory description that can kick the heat up a notch. A groan low in the throat, ragged breathing, a gasp or a sigh, an elated giggle, even the creak of a bed or the rhythmic thump of the headboard hitting the wall--these are all things that can bring the reader into to moment and make them sweat.

Smell is a sensory description that can get gross or raunchy if you’re not careful, but it can be very sensual, too. Minty breath, cologne, the scent of someone’s soap or shampoo, the sweet scent of sweat on the neck, or even environmental smells like wood smoke from a campfire or the salty breeze coming off the ocean. There’s lots of room to be clever about it.

Taste is can be used without being raunchy, too. The taste of a kiss can be described, maybe tasting a breath mint on the tongue or wine on the lips. A little bit of salt when kissing the skin, or tasting foods or flavored items used in foreplay. 

Touch and physical feeling is also important. The feel of things like: smooth skin, the bristle of facial hair, taut muscles, satin sheets or whatever surface the couple is making out on. The feeling of hot breath on the neck, the weight of the other person’s body, the sensation of electric sparks or butterflies in the stomach.

Locations and actions can also be described without getting into actual part names. What are the hands doing? They can get tangled in hair, wander below the belt or under the shirt, cup a cheek... What is the mouth doing? Nibbling ears, biting the lip, trailing kisses down a neck.

Word play can also be employed to give things a little more sensuality. Fireworks, tumbling into heaven, being transported to utopia, naked bodies dancing among the stars... if you’re careful not to get too ornate (beware the purple prose) you can usually employ a metaphor, simile, or other word play in a way that turns up the heat in the nicest of ways.

Bottom line: while it’s certainly fine to name body parts if that’s what you want to do (you can typically find word suggestions and guides online--also, Bryn Donovan’s Master Lists for Writers has a list of 500 great words for sex scenes), don’t feel like you have to name body parts just to write a steamy sex scene. Capitalize on emotional, sensory descriptions and you’ll never have to employ a single rod, slit, or bud to get your reader hot and bothered.

Winter had ended, the days were getting warmer. Deep in the Viridian Forest snow had already melted and green buds had begun to grow despite the lingering chill in the air.

Micah bristled against the cold, her fluffy fur proofing out and warning her and the new hatchlings as she let the little ones out to play.

The clan was already bustling with energy as the merchants worked to open the bazaar nearby and some wandering travelers already emerged from the Owlcat Inn furthur down the lake.

The tree that made up her home was connected to the hatchery, a fitting place for her as hatchery mother. Doreak and Chrysalis had recently had a brood of eggs, and the hatchlings from Orion and Ostara were almost old enough to find new homes of their own.

The hatchlings in question were in the playpen, a little ingenious work Micah had made between the trees and off the road by the lake. It was fenced in preventing the little ones from escaping and with a little rune work and a few golems stationed on the posts it ensured the hatchlings could play and Micah didn't have to worry about one slipping off without her notice.

A flapping of wings got Micah's attention and the tundra turned to see a familiar fae, Beltane.

She had a pouch filled to the brim with vials with mysterious liquids.

"Keep the hatchlings close. Void said a Gaoler was spotted nearby." Beltane's monotone voice came as the fae settled on one of the fence posts leading to the playpen. Micah blinked.

"A gaoler? But they only work to contain the Shade and I've never heard of one leaving the Icewarden's territory." She said. Beltane shook her head.

"Lately things seem stranger than normal. Have you ever seen a gaoler before?" Beltane asked. Micah shook her head.

"I was born in the forests, so sadly I have not." Micah admitted. The little fae twitched one of their ears, the fan like protrusions from their head and neck quivering slightly. Fae were notorious for being hard to read, but Beltane seemed harder then most. At least to Micah.

"Pity," Beltane said, though Micah couldn't tell if she was actually disappointed or not, "But still. Keep an eye out. Kayce said he would stop by later."

With that the little fae took off, her little wings allowing her to glide past the much larger dragons and off to her own tree. Micah wondered if perhaps a new golem would appear soon, but turned her attention to the hatchlings.

Something had gotten their interest, the hatchlings crowding around one of the playhouses. One, a spiral, was trying to poke their head in but would dart back and a squeal would go through the group.

Worried that some sort of danger might have snuck in, Micah quickly went into the playpen.

"Let me see what you've found." She said gently, using a gentle push on the hatchlings to peer inside the playhouse.

It took a moment for her to see it clearly, and at first she thought it was a pile of snow until its pale eyes blinked at her.

The creature looked like a tundra hatchling, though a little strange compared to what Micah had seen before.

"Hello little one, are you lost?" Micah said softly, laying her body down flat and appearing as non threatening as possible. The hatchling blinked but didn't say anything.

I would like to add in examples - common toothpastes are strongly minty. Kids toothpastes often are not, because the mint can be off-putting.

But adults who buy kids strawberry toothpaste are looked at, and shamed for not getting the toothpaste with fluoride (too much of it is bad for kids teeth, so their toothpaste has none).

Societal change would be things like minding your own buisness when you see a kids toothpaste on the counter in a house that has no kids. Societal change would be offering different flavors of toothpaste to people who struggle to brush their teeth - because often someone who finds mint overwhelming might not think to consider that other flavors exist. Societal change would involve noticing which kid flinches from the foaming toothpaste and offering one that doesn’t foam, instead of just talking up how nice and clean the foam gets your teeth.

But none of that changes the fact that NT people can “just cope” with any toothpaste flavor and texture, and ND people often struggle to even figure out which part is the problem. It is expensive both in money and in time to try to find out what purchase will be a solution to the problem.

There's never going to be a society with no difficult sensory input to tolerate, that's literally impossible. When I'm overloaded I can't function like usual. This could be improved with societal changes, but it'll always exist.

If everyone in society was accepting of my different social behaviour, I'd still miss cues and meanings that come naturally to most. That's disabling. Even if people are willing to explain, that's a disability accommodation. Accommodations don't make us not disabled.

We don't need a society where we're not disabled, we need a society where being disabled is accepted and accommodated as much as possible.
