Where Should Mop Water Be Disposed Safe?
Mop water should be disposed of in a sink or bucket that is designated for this purpose. It is important to empty mop water immediately after using it so that it does not contaminate other areas.
Where Do You Pour Dirty Water?
One popular way to pour used mop water is down the drain. Some people place a bucket near the sink and fill it as needed with dirty water. Others pour the water directly into the garbage can.

Next, they must slowly lower the mop head down into the bucket so that it is submerged. Finally, they must reach up and grasp the handle of the mop, and pull it out of the bucket.
What Is The Correct Way To Handle A Dirty Bucket Of Mop Water?
The correct way to handle a dirty bucket of mop water is to pour it into a designated area outside and away from the building.
Can Mop Water Be Disposed Of In A Service Sink?
Yes, as long as the mop is rinsed off and the water is drained in a timely manner, the water can be disposed of in a service sink.
What’s A Service Sink?
A service sink is a plumbing fixture that is specifically designed for the disposal of food waste. It is typically installed in a commercial kitchen or restaurant. The service sink is equipped with a garbage disposal unit that grinds up the food waste and disposes it down the drain.
Can You Suggest Any Other Use Of The Water Left After Mopping?
Dirty mop water is not reusable for any other home task. However, if you have garden plants, you can use the water to water those. In most cases, you don’t want to use dirty mop water on anything else.
How Often Should I Change The Water When Mopping?
It depends on the use of the mop water. If the floor surface is too dirty, it may be necessary to change the water more frequently. If you are using the mop water to clean a surface that is not too dirty, you can change the mop water as often as needed.
It is important to clean the mop water as soon as possible. If you let the mop water stand for a long time, the pollution level of the mop water will increase. As a result, it will be hard to clean the floor surface with this type of mop water.

Final Thought:
Dumping the mop water is a good way to keep the mop clean. By knowing the tips discussed above, you can easily dump the mop water. If you are using your mop water for other purposes, you can use it in the garden.

Oh my goodness, what a day!
I’ve had some of the kitchen reno posts scheduled but I think I forgot to show you the new shelf paper that we put up. I took the vacuum cleaner and cleaned out all of the cabinets and then wiped them down really well. After they had dried I put up some new shelf paper that we found at Lowes. It looks so much better than the cow print that was there!
I know this is not something that everyone does but I like that it makes the shelves so much easier to clean… especially the ones that are old and not so smooth to start with!

–Thank you!
Today was pancake day here and since the griddle and pancake supplies were at the new house we had breakfast over there. We also carried over a few laundry baskets full of kitchen stuff on the way over.
We also washed our first load of laundry in the new washer and dryer that I mentioned in a previous post. We didn’t get to try out the dryer as we still need to pick up a new cord as the electrician rewired it as well as replace all of the breakers in the panel box. It worked great and we are in love with the washer so far.
Now we are just waiting on the new dishwasher, replacement shelves for the refrigerator, and for the siding to be fixed… hopefully that will all happen very soon!
I’m just so ready to get moved in… I’ve been watching all the progress that Jamerill Stewart is having with her recent move and I’m just a wee bit jealous… considering we’ve been planning this move since last July!
I’ve been cleaning out cabinets and taking over non-essential items. I also had to have Ms. Caitlyn carry the new vacuum back over to the old house so I could clean out some cabinets as we had some mice move in and boy did they make a MESS!
I’m hoping to get at least two of these cabinets moved over this weekend so I can reconfigure the kitchen cabinets… not sure if that’s gonna happen but I really would like it too!
In the process of putting away things, I have realized that I am going to need to keep my current pantry cabinets for some kitchen supplies but they will probably be located in the laundry room as they were in our old house. I also want to paint them at some point but that is not on the top of the To-Do list right now.
I did, however, manage to tackle a little problem that we had. We don’t have many drawers at all in the new house and Mr. Awesome had planned to just fix a place for me to hang the utensils… like I do now… but I had another idea.
I took an old can… a big can… and just covered it with a bit of leftover shelf paper. Voila, an instant utensil holder that didn’t cost me a thing. I do love upcycling items and reusing them around the house.
After unloading a couple of other baskets I decided that I should probably open my newest kitchen appliance to make sure it wasn’t damaged and that I didn’t need to return it for one reason or another… something I rarely do!
I was amazed at just how big it was… 10 quarts! It is quite a bit bigger than my old one which is now my hinge/lightswitch cooker! I’m really excited to start using this although I did have my eye on this cooker… maybe I’ll invest in one of those later on.
It got damaged somehow… not gonna say which child was responsible but she is a bit passive-aggressive at times and things will go missing or get broken when she is in one of her moods. You just gotta love dealing with hormonal teenagers!
After putting everything away and heading back over to the old house to start on dinnerI decided to check my Sam’s cart and get a few essentials ordered… one of which was toilet paper. Yep, that was a no-go! Nobody and I mean nobody has toilet paper right now. I’ve checked Walmart , Target, Amazon, and a few other locations only to find that it is out of stock… I guess we’ll be picking up one of these contraptions soon! I had wanted to get one for cleaning off cloth diapers so maybe I can talk Mr. Awesome into it!
Normally this isn’t a big deal because we have plenty but I was a little late getting things ordered this month… plus I thought we had another pack in the shed but I was wrong! This isn’t the end of the world and I just heard that one of the dollar stores in town might still have a pack or two so I guess I will be headed that way in just a few.
I’ve tried to limit our outings right now with all of the stomach bugs and EVERYTHING going around but right now I have a couple of kiddos with the stomach bug so it’s not a lot of fun here. I’m just praying that I don’t get it on top of the ongoing morning sickness because that would be BAD. The kiddos are a bit upset because we did have something planned for this evening but we will be staying home as I don’t want to spread this to anyone else… I’m really not sure where they picked it up from at this point but I’m hoping it goes away just as quickly as it showed up.
How are you and your family holding up during this panic? I certainly hope you all are doing well and I really hope you stocked on TP beforehand!

Post Holiday House Cleaning Tips
Follow these simple house cleaning tips to get your home clean and tidy after the holiday chaos! There's nothing better than a fresh, clean home to start off the new year!
Everyone always wants a fresh start in the new year and our homes are no exception! While cleaning is never at the top of my “favorite things to do” list, I do love getting the house cleaned and organized again after the holidays. I know many of you are joining me on my January decluttering challenge to work on getting your homes decluttered and organized {it's not too late to start!}, and today I want to talk about the cleaning part.
Post Holiday House Cleaning Tips
Cleaning up after the holidays can be a bit of a daunting task – especially if you're burned out from all of the holiday chaos! To help you out, I've put together some of my favorite post-holiday house cleaning tips for you. There's nothing better than a clean, fresh home to start off the new year so let's get cleaning!
NOTE: This post is created in partnership with Grove Collaborative. While I have not received any payment for this post, it does contain affiliate links and I do receive a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. As always all opinions are 100% my own and I authentically use and purchase these products myself.
Do a garbage run.
Before you start cleaning grab a garbage bag {or two or three!} and a recycling bag. Go through your house from top to bottom and collect any remaining garbage or recyclables.
Gather up items that belong elsewhere.
Get a laundry bin or other large basket and go around the house collecting items that belong in different rooms. Put them all in the basket and then get each family member to grab what's theirs and put it all away in the proper location.
Have a donation box.
As you're working your way through your home, think about what items you really use and love and what items you don't really need. Getting rid of excess items will not only make cleaning easier, but it will also give you more breathing space and free up your space and time for those things that you really love. If you keep a donation box readily available {or even just a specific space to put items that you wish to donate}, you'll be more likely to let those items go.
Gather your cleaning supplies.
Using the right cleaning supplies can definitely make your cleaning tasks quicker, easier, and – yes! – even more enjoyable! I've been using Grove Collaborative to purchase the majority of our cleaning supplies for the past couple of years now and I LOVE them! If you're not familiar yet with Grove, they're basically an online retailer dedicated to carrying the best natural products for home and body. You can find all of your favorite green cleaning brands as well as an awesome line of exclusive Grove products at discounted rates. If you're interested in learning more, be sure to check out the end of the post for an amazing FREE GIFT OFFER!
Before getting started on a space, try to gather up any cleaning supplies that you may need. This allows you to stay more focused on your task and avoid having to spend time searching supplies. A cleaning caddy is a great way to keep your supplies organized and easily transportable from room to room. Here's what I like to keep in our basic cleaning caddy:
microfiber cleaning cloths. {TIP: Try using different colored cloths for different rooms so you know where to put them after doing laundry.}
Norwex polishing cloth This is the best thing I've found for windows, mirrors, and any shiny surfaces.
spray bottle of water
spray bottle of multi-purpose spray. These multi-purpose cleaning concentrates are one of my favorite things from Grove. They smell amazing and use SO much less packaging! You can also purchase it in a kit to save even more money. And to make it even prettier, I even created these free printable cleaning labels for you.
cleaning toothbrush {for cleaning in crevices}
Depending on your floor surface, you'll also need a vacuum, floor steamer, or mop and floor cleaner.
Have a cleaning plan.
Having a set cleaning plan makes it much easier to stay on task and avoid distractions. Try to always work from the top to the bottom when cleaning a room and from one side to the other to avoid getting dirt and dust in places you've already cleaned. I generally follow these steps:
vacuum any cobwebs in ceiling/corners
dry dust from top to bottom
clean any spots on walls/wipe down furniture as needed {working from top to bottom}
clean baseboards
vacuum {and wash hardwood floors as needed}
Work on one space or room at a time.
When I'm doing a deep cleaning, I always like to work on one room at a time. I find that this helps me to stay on task better and it gives me a lot more satisfaction {and motivation to keep going!} when I see a space completely done. There's nothing worse than feeling like you've cleaned all day without a finished space to show for it.
Put away holiday items as you go.
I know many people like to put away all of their Christmas items on one day, but I usually take my time with this and just do it as I clean each space. As you put away the holiday decorations, completely clear off the space to give it a good cleaning before putting any non-seasonal items back. To make holiday decorating easier next year, sort all of your holiday decor into similar items before storing {i.e. all pillows/pillow covers together, all ornaments in one container, all trees in one spot, etc.}
Don't put too much pressure on yourself.
There's no rule that says that the holiday clean-up has to be done by a specific date. Give yourself some time to enjoy that post-holiday lull if you need it and keep those decorations up for a bit if you choose! Once you're ready to get going, set up a realistic schedule that works for you. Some like to do it all in a day or two while others {myself included!} take a little bit longer.
I hope that's helpful for you. Like most household tasks, the hardest part is just getting started! Before you go, be sure to check out the amazing free gift offer below from Grove Collaborative. I've been working with them for a couple of years now and this is the BEST DEAL that they've offered yet!

Keeping the house clean with two kiddos running around
The secret: I don’t! The end. Muahah. (<— it would be so nice to say, Bye, chores)
I’m just kidding… keeping the house clean (or at least presentable) is something that’s important to me, and I work pretty hard to keep things tidy around here. I read all of the memes about how laundry will wait and the kids will only be little once, and truth is that I can’t relax and enjoy life when things are in shambles around me. I don’t spend a crazy amount of time cleaning, but just like fitness, or eating well, it’s a type of self care. I feel good when my surroundings are clutter-free and cleaned up a bit.
I got this request for a blog post a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be a fun one to discuss here on the blog. To be honest, it can be tricky to keep the house clean with little ones running around, but I’ve found that doing a little bit every day and outsourcing for help makes a huge difference.
Here are some of my tips for keeping the house clean with two kids:
– I stick to a cleaning schedule and do laundry every.single.day. Every day, I clean the kitchen (usually twice; once after breakfast and after dinner) by wiping down the countertops, appliances, stove, dining table, and switching out the dishes (usually just do this in the morning). In addition to that, I wash and fold one load of laundry. If I do one load a day, it keeps things from getting ridiculous but sometimes I slack on this. I make the beds each day, wipe down bathroom countertops, and run the euphy. Besides the usual daily chores, I’ll have one bigger things I work on each day: floors, bathrooms, wood floors upstairs, wash bedding, dust, etc. If I only do one of these each day, it’s only an extra 20 minutes or so and makes it much easier to maintain.
(Click here to download a PDF printable)
– We have an AMAZING housekeeper who comes every two weeks for a deep clean. She is a real-life angel and does all of the nitty gritty deep cleaning, in addition to washing the bedding and making the house sparkle. We’ve had a bi-monthly cleaner for years now and it’s a non-neogiable in our budget. Otherwise, I feel like I’d never catch up on cleaning stuff. If she could eventually come once a week, that would be a dream come true.
– I clean while the kids are home. This will probably change in the fall since P’s school day will be a little longer, but for now, I work and work out when they’re at camp and then when they’re home chilling afterwards, I clean for a bit. I think it’s good for them to see me working to keep the house beautiful and often, they’ll want to help. They’re excellent at separating laundry into piles, folding towels, and emptying the dishwasher. We tidy up a little, and then we play!
– I focus on priorities. If I get too swamped with work stuff, or get behind on cleaning because the Pilot is out of town, I focus on the important tasks. For me, that’s having an empty sink (no dirty dishes lingering around) and a clean downstairs. If there’s a pile of laundry on our chair upstairs, it doesn’t bother me, but for some reason, having a lot of clutter or feeling crumbs under my feet when I walk makes me feel stressed out.
– The eufy. I rarely have to manually vacuum because of this little wonder. I run it every single day downstairs, and only have to use our cordless vacuum every couple of days to get Caroline hairs off the couch.
Some of my favorite cleaning products/hacks:
– Use a Swiffer with a cleaning cloth attached to it instead of the Swiffer pads. I’ll use the Method spray and mop liquid on the floors and then wipe down with the Swiffer. Another awesome floor cleaner: dish soap mixed with water, then rinse with water. It gets all of the grime and makes floors super sparkly! (For our wood floors, I use the Method wood floor cleaner.)
– Method is my all-time favorite cleaning brand, and I also buy this castille soap, baking soda, and a huge tub of vinegar. I recently ordered some products from Branch Basics and will report back in a Friday Faves post if I love them!
– Homemade multi-purpose cleaner: water, vinegar, castille soap, and a few drops of lavender. It smells beautiful and makes a great multipurpose cleaner.
– Essential oils to keep things smelling lovely. I love using our oil diffuser upstairs and will usually use a mix of lavender and lemon.
– Resuable cloths. I bought some Norwex, but to be honest, they’re not my favorites. I love these ones from Amazon and always have a couple of clean ones stashed under each sink for washing countertops, the wood table, dusting, and windows.
– I wipe down the couch with a wet washcloth (warm water). It helps to keep it clean and gets any stray dog hairs after I’ve vacuumed the cushions.
– Only touch things once. Don’t move one pile of things to another pile somewhere else. If I’m going to touch anything to move it, it’s to put it completely away where it belongs. Don’t waste energy just moving things around!
– Baking soda is a MIRACLE. If our sink looks a little gross, I’ll add baking soda, make a paste with water, scrub, and it shines. It’s also great for cleaning bathroom tile and tubs.
So friends: drop all of your cleaning hacks on me! How do you keep things tidy with kiddos or pets? Any products you particularly love?
xo

They say variety is the spice of life that gives it all its flavor. ⠀ Jim and I have been 📺 hooked on cooking shows while sheltering at home. 🍳 🥘 And we’ve been cooking so many meals!! He likes spicy 🌶 food while I’m hyper sensitive to spice. 🥵I do however like different herbs. One thing we can both agree on is garlic! We both love cooking with it. 👩🍳 On that note here’s a cool tip for your Tip Tuesday! ⠀ Use one of our silicone cup lids (set of 4) to remove garlic skins! Easy Peasy. 🥳 ⠀ Do you like spicy foods? I was looking back through my posts to see when our last update was and if you don’t include A Series of Unexpected Events, Part 2, and Part 3 then I believe it would’ve been Life Update: A Jacuzzi, A Boy’s Night out, And Why We Don’t ‘Do’ Halloween which seems like it was forever ago.
Monday
I know last week I posted 35+ Freezer Meals In One Day! where I did give a couple of updates like Ms. Bella’s birthday:
And then Nanny J also had a birthday where we made her a cute little gift out of items that we had:
A cute teddy bear made from a Norwex Body Cloth, some lotion samples, and a bracelet. In that post I also had some of our budding photographer’s shots… he really loves taking pictures of animals. If you haven’t checked out my Norwex site you should probably go ahead and do that NOW. Make sure to sign up for my newsletter because there are a TON of great sales coming up!
That night we had one of our freezer meals, Ham & Cheese Potato Bake. It was soo good! I got the top a little extra brown and that was Mr. Awesome’s favorite part. We had leftovers for lunch the next day and I had enough for my lunch the day after too! This one is definitely going on repeat for our menu!
The FULL MOON seems to make everything and everyone so crazy around here. I can’t even begin to tell you what happened. A couple of the kids were CRAZY and WILD and Momma was just about to pull her hair out! I do have a post coming up about Lunar Influence.
Tuesday
I don’t remember much of Tuesday except that I was busy trying to figure out where to put all of those freezer meals and I was fighting with the internet. I ended up on the phone with customer service and on chat for 5-6 hours that day BEFORE they finally agreed to send someone out.
The tech came out late in the evening and with the time change, it was getting DARK really fast. He didn’t see any problem at first and was about to give us his personal number so we could call him when it was acting up when it CRASHED again. He found so many errors he said he honestly didn’t know how we even had any internet service at all.
Since it was dark already he said he would come back the next day, if that was OK.
We had some fried pork chops, mashed potatoes, and green beans for dinner that night. Mr. Awesome had been complaining that he missed having fried foods so I made an exception. There were no LEFTOVERS!
Wednesday
We pulled out some of the Baked Oatmeal Applesauce Muffins for breakfast. Everyone loved them but they suggested that we need to add some raisins to them the next time make them!
The tech returned and again he found numerous errors… more than he had ever anticipated. He was tracing the errors here and there when he finally decided to just start replacing lines.
It appears that part of the problem was because when the previous lines were installed a couple of years ago the original tech had not taken out or unhooked the old wiring. This causes a back feed and was messing with the signal… all I really know is that it is working much better now.
I have been so much more productive online this week and it feels good to actually be able to get a little work done… it was kind of funny trying to explain to the tech what I do and what I need my internet to do but he kinda seemed to understand. I have been AMAZED to see the increase in my blog traffic and Pinterest views since my productivity has INCREASED… CRAZY!
I also worked on getting all of the freezer meals put into the freezers as they had been in the refrigerators. I didn’t have quite enough room without doing some major reorganization so we ate one of them for dinner, Stuffed Shells.
I didn’t fix any sides but some buttered bread. We still had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. This one will be added to the repeating menu as well! Mr. Awesome just suggested that I add a little more cheese to the top… this was one of the meals where I was running short on cheese. I had planned to add more before baking but hadn’t been to the store again yet.
That’s one way to fix something that causing an issue… eat it!
Thursday
This past Thursday Mr. William had a dentist appointment. He was SUPER anxious because it was a new dentist and he often doesn’t do well with NEW things. I was lucky that Mr. Awesome was able to keep the other kiddos at home so I could FOCUS all of my attention on Mr. William.
He got a bit NERVOUS when they were doing the x-rays but he did fine. His appointment went well and he had NO CAVITIES! He does need to work on his brushing a little bit. We don’t use a ‘traditional toothpaste’ as one of the kids had some issues with Flouride a few years back and switched to this brand. My kids love the lemon flavor!

Mr. William and I also stopped at the bread store to stock up on a few items. The store was almost completely our of regular loaf bread so we ended up with a lot of wheat bread and just before we finished checking out they had found two loaves of white bread so I grabbed them… sorry folks! After that, we stopped by the post office to pick up a couple of packages. We had some school supplies and some Christmas gifts that had come in. I have probably finished 80-90% of our Christmas shopping although I can’t promise that I’ll be able to find it all if this house doesn’t get here soon!
When we returned home, I made lunch for everyone and sent the kids to their beds for a nap. Everyone has been a little under the weather which has made them super grouchy. This wasn’t the only reason though… we needed to fix the toilet. If the kids were down for naps it would make the job that much easier.
I went to town to grab the parts we needed and when I returned Mr. Awesome and I set to work. The hardest part was to get the bolts off as they were rusted. We ended up using a hacksaw to cut the bolts which was no easy task. Once that was completed we removed the toilet and began to check for the problem… if you follow me on Instagram you probably already know what I found:
Yep, one of the kiddos had indeed flushed part of a hanger down. I managed to fish it out with a coat hanger as it was caught in the bend of the toilet… that was not easy either. We did manage to get everything cleaned out and get the toilet reinstalled well before naptime was over and now we have working toilet again.
The kids were a little worried as they had heard me mention to Mr. Awesome that we needed to clean out the outhouse and get it back in working order… lol. Mr. Awesome did hurt his back during this project so please pray for him!
The bathroom still needs some major work but it will need to wait until we can get moved as we just can’t go without a toilet for the time we need to renovate the bathroom.
That evening Mr. Awesome surprised me by taking me out to dinner at one of our favorite places, Ballyhoo Grill. We usually just order a few appetizers as our meal because they are so good!
After dinner, we went to one of my favorite stores, Books A Million, and found quite a few interesting books. We also went to Walmart to pick up a few things and then we headed home. While we were out we did see a few things that might make good Christmas gifts as well.
I later found out that something else had been planned for that night but Mr. Awesome’s injury kept him from doing it.
The kids had meatball sandwiches with potato chips for dinner while they were at home with the babysitter. I don’t believe there were any leftovers that night either!
Friday
On Friday my son-in-law graduated from his training and that means he and my daughter will be relocating to Kansas soon! I’m trying not to cry as I think about it. I know we have to let go of them at some point but it never seems to be the right time when it happens… you always seem to want to hang on to them just a little bit more.
This was one of my motivations for posting as many new recipes to the blog as I have. My daughter is ALWAYS asking for recipes and it is so much easier to just make a copy and give it to her but she won’t be that close anymore. Now she can check the blog and print it out… something else I’ve been working on as well… and if she can’t find it then she can let me know what she needs and I’ll get it to her. I‘ll probably also share them on the blog as well.
Here are a few of the recipes I’ve posted recently:
Peanut Butter Cookies
Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
Watergate Salad
Crockpot Pumpkin Butter
No-Bake Cheesecake with Flavor Variations
One thing that I’ve found, as I’ve been updating the recipes to include a printable link, is that some of the links were not working! I don’t really know how many of them are like that on my blog, and I probably never will know for sure, but that is so FRUSTRATING. If you ever happen to find a broken link please let me know in the comments and I’ll work on getting it fixed ASAP!
We also had a square dance that night. We had a babysitter watch the kiddos as they were still a bit under the weather.
I knew it was going to be a busy day so I had planned ahead and pulled out another freezer meal, Beef Stroganoff. I made some green beans and rolls to go with it. Apparently, everyone really enjoyed it as there wasn’t much left when we got home and all the rolls were gone. I think there may be enough for two or three lunches left.
We had been expecting to see some dirt for the house come this week but so far NOTHING has appeared. The weather has been a bit NASTY as well so maybe that had a part to play in it?
Saturday
We had planned to go to a big dance on Saturday but some other things came up. Mr. Awesome had to go out of town that morning so I decided to help with a local vendor event, kids in tow, and I had a great time. I did have a little trouble getting everyone dressed that morning though:
We ate some of the loaded breakfast biscuits that morning. They were a hit with all but one of the kids. He ate a banana instead and everyone was happy. We also took some of our PB&Js from the freezer to carry with us for lunch.
I am constantly gathering new ideas for when I can venture out on my own. I really enjoy educating people about Norwex and its mission. I really don’t mind if they don’t buy our products as long as they are learning a little bit about reducing chemicals to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of their family members!
Was taking the kids a good idea? Ehhh… the jury is still out on that one. Some of the kids did really well, one of them was super grumpy, and another was just a MESS. The ones who did really well kept themselves occupied under the table… they pretended to be on a picnic. They all enjoyed looking around the flea market and they got to take their picture with SPONGEBOB!
I also saw some really cute things that I wanted to get but I didn’t… these little snowmen were adorable though:
I completely missed the bears… I might’ve gotten them if I had seen them!
We had still planned on going to the dance that evening but I really wasn’t feeling well and the kids were SUPER GRUMPY! Mr. Awesome got home later than expected and he also wasn’t feeling well so we just decided to stay home because we knew that we had a big day planned for Sunday.
That night we had a simple meal of sweet and sour meatballs with some macaroni and cheese. There are a few leftovers in the fridge… between the beef stroganoff and meatballs I should have lunch covered for today!
Sunday
Oh man, I woke up feeling MISERABLE. The dog wouldn’t be QUIET and was whining so bad because she doesn’t like to ‘sleep in’. Then it was the kids and all Momma wanted to was SLEEP!
I gave up on my plan and took Ms. Comet for a walk. The good thing about it being so cold is that she gets her business finished quickly. Then I set to work on making some Scrambled Eggs, Cheesy Grits, and toast. I just had a cup of Dandy Morning Coffee and a couple of Ibuprofen.
Shortly after sitting for a while our doorbell rang… guess who it was?
It was big sister, Ana, and her husband, Cody! We had plans to visit the MOSH as one last family outing before they leave. This month they had an astronaut exhibit which the kids really enjoyed. We also got there just in time for an animal talk and everyone got to pet a bearded lizard. Here is a quick slideshow of some of the things that we saw and did:
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
After the MOSH we went to visit a couple of my sisters… that’s where things went a little crazy. My one sister lives in a gated subdivision so it took us a minute to get in. When we got to her house she wasn’t there. She called me and ended up having me check her windows to see if any were open… well, I found one that was cracked open a tad and she told me to climb in!
She assured me that it was going to be OK even though I was afraid I’d set off an alarm and be swarmed with cops. After discussing all of the possible outcomes I decided, I should go ahead and just do it as it was pretty cold outside. When I was midway through the window one of my daughters came around the corner… yeah, probably not the best parenting moment for your kid to watch you breaking into a house! When I told big sis Olivia what I had done she didn’t believe me… lol.
I did get inside and unlocked the door, no cops came, and we ended up having a pretty good time. The kids love playing with their cousins and us sisters love running our mouths and catching up. We even added another sister through video chat… lol.
We had a dinner of sauteed veggies, baked spaghetti squash with alfredo sauce, baked chicken breast, and some garlic bread. While it wasn’t a winner with everyone it was pretty good and it was different. I will be trying spaghetti squash again here soon. I think if I put my special spaghetti sauce with it we will get a different reaction.
We had a late night last night and everyone was ready to get home and go to bed. As I am finishing this the kids are still sleeping. I’m feeling a bit under the weather today as I finally gave up fighting this cold last night. I spent the night sitting up in a recliner because that was the only way I could get comfortable and still breathe. As much as I’d love to sit around and jaw with you a bit more, I really think I want to take my hot coffee and snuggle with a blanket for a bit!
I hope you all have a blessed week!

This post is all about my favorites. My favorite secrets, tips, tricks, and products! You know you have ’em too. Here are some of mine!
Secrets, Tips and Tricks:
Cut a V in your big toenail to avoid ingrown toenails.
Raspberry ice tea combats menstrual cramps.
Hate apple cider vinegar but know the health benefits…sneak it into Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea.
Want to get rid of your zits faster, after you wash your face dab spots with rubbing alcohol.
Keep cut veggies in the fridge so that throwing together a salad for lunch or dinner is super easy. Check out these veggie keepers to keep them fresh.
Check out amazing uses for freeze dried fruit. Way healthier than sugar ridden dried fruit and can add fruity flavor to oatmeal, pancake/waffle batter, and cereal treats. Get creative with your flavor combos!
Who needs to spend all kinds of money on dry shampoo, know what works just as great…baby powder!
Need makeup brushes or brushes to do your nails….check out your local craft store! Craft store paint brushes usually run cheaper (especially with a coupon!)
Want to make your boots and shoes last longer, hit them all with Camp Dry spray or waterproof boot spray.
Keep an amazing Norwex travel microfiber cloth in your car for quick cleaning rearview mirrors or sunglasses.
Always keep a granola bar, natural fruit snacks, carrots and celery, or nuts/ trail mix in your purse. Snacks can hold you over if you get stuck somewhere or help calm a screaming child.
Throwing a party? Keep cold food cold by placing serving dishes inside a large aluminum roasting pan filled with ice. (Small kiddie pools work too)
Speaking of parties, due to food sensitivities and allergies, set post-its on your buffet with what each offering is.
Want to shred a bunch of meat, make your KitchenAid mixer do the work! Put meat in the bowl of your mixer, drape mixer with a towel to hold any flying bits, turn on mixer to medium and there you go.
Products:
These are some things that I love! I use these items daily and could not imagine what I would do without them. Check them out!
Rumba robot vacuum – takes care of a lot of puppy hair!
Tupperware salad bowl – this baby has a fork, knife and dressing cup.
Amazon Prime – I cannot tell you how much this pays for itself!

Leave scent by Bath and Body Works (I do the candles, room spray, and Wallflowers!) The Hubs even approves of this scent
crochet wash rags – these are the best for scrubbing!
Lightning Knight phone wallet – nice to keep all the important stuff together
LaCroix – my favorite is grapefruit or cherry lime!
V8 energy – both carbonated and non but my favorite is the white grape raspberry
