For those interested, may I recommend the documentary Truly Texas Mexican which is all about Tejano cuisine (comida casera or home-cooking). This isn't your Taco Bell nonsense, this is the food of my home and it is delicious and rich and deeply connected to the history and place in which it originated.

Legit, one of the restaurants featured is only a couple blocks away from my first job in my hometown and it is delicious. This is the food I grew up eating.
