Review: Waterman Black Ink Hits All The Right Notes
After twenty years of using fountain pens, I finally purchased Waterman Intense Black Ink. My usual choices are Noodler’s Black or J Herbin Perle Noir when I am in a black mood. But I purchased the bottle of Waterman for a family member and decided to give it a whirl in a Delike New Moon 2 EF to good result. It isn’t the darkest black but varied a little in my test perhaps in part due to the nib…

New Art: Paranormal/Paranoia
Paranoia/Paranormal pen, brush, and ink. 2021 Kevin Hurtack Reality is a Veil, not meant to be Lifted … Is there a line, however fine, between reality and the supernatural? When something catches in the corner of your vision, is it just your eyes playing tricks on you? When you’re home alone late at night, and you think you hear something/someone, is it just your imagination, or something ……

So I bought a new pen.
I wanted to buy a Vintage Big Red Duofold by Parker. But that is £450 which is a lot for a pen. Not Montblanc range but close.
So as compromise with my wife I decided to buy a TWSBI steel medium nibbed 580 as it had good reviews. And it really is very good.
I ordered it from Pure Pens my favourite online pen retailer cause they have a very good line in Noodler’s Ink which is one of my favourites.
Was very quick delivery and they even threw in a nice treat for me.
Got my self a TWSBI red 580Â which is sadly not available any more but you can still get the clear version.
The box it comes in is very good.
Under stated brown box with TWSBI logo.
Pen in it box. It did not come with ink.
Really easy to get it out.
Comes with wrench to take apart and oil to lubricate.
Box, Pena and instructions.
The instructions are really good as well.
I also got a Two Noodlers inks. A lovely red and a pretty sweet black.
my new noodler’s inks (Empire Red and X-Fearther) with my older Bullet proof black
Twsbi Instagram feed. It has some really nice shots.
I am particularly looking forward to the bamboo one.

"What's in My Bag" Sketch
“What’s in My Bag” Sketch
I had been looking high and low for a bag that would carry my sketching supplies as well as my personal items. The criteria is that it would not get heavy on long walks but feels light when I’m running around town doing errands. The beauty of a Timbuk2 is their very adjustable strap. With just one flick I can adjust the strap without taking the whole bag off.
In my Timbuk2 Metro bag I carry my…

Hello! It’s been a while since I uploaded an art post and more importantly, I’ve a bunch of new and yet-to-test art supplies which I guess need to be reviewed:) While I was away on vacation some weeks ago I sketched a bit but mostly ate, explored book and art supply stores. It’s nice to break away from routine for a bit. Without wasting any time, let’s get started with the FIRST ART HAUL on my…

A Dozen Favorite Fountain Pen Inks
A Dozen Favorite Fountain Pen Inks
In no particular order, these are my most frequently used inks based on color rather than other properties. Already in my collection, this group is in line with my plan to use what I already own. A few have been here at least ten years which probably means I don’t write enough. Maybe this year will be different. Iroshizuku syo-ro Platinum Classic Lavender Black Diamine Sepia J. My Purple Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pen
My Purple Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pen
I MAY have treated myself to an early Christmas present–can’t have those callouses from my Lamy Safari any longer.
And what they say IS true–the second is just as cheap as the first. And better in the long run.
Maybe they say that about cats or maybe they say that about kids, but I’m saying it about a fountain pen. And this Pilot Metropolitan is LOVELY. The whole line is nice, but this purple…

Fountain pens
I’ve always enjoyed fountain pens. I think they’re so romantic. I remember my grandmother having a large antique secretary desk in her living room. Aside from her stationery, it also contained a glass inkwell, ink, and a dip pen. Fountain pens have come and gone from my life over the years but right now they’re back full throttle. Maybe it’s because I spend my whole day staring at a computer,…

Noodler's Ink
Noodler’s Ink
Pretty excited to receive my new bottle of fountain pen ink. I decided to go for the primo stuff partly because it’s water safe and I am a mess with my coffee and water when I’m writing in my notebook some mornings. This is called bulletproof.  Yeah, I keep my ink bottles in little dishes even if they aren’t heavy duty like this. Because, yes, by this time I know myself.
I’ve looked at the…

A List Of My Favorite Noodler's Inks
A List Of My Favorite Noodler’s Inks
Did you know that Noodler’s Ink has a new website? So many colors!
I have used their inks for close to fifteen years starting with Black then moving on to Legal Lapis Blue from Pendemonium. Eventually, someone on Fountain Pen Network talked me into buying Apache Sunset and I was hooked for life.
After perusing the new website, making a list of my favorite Noodler’s inks struck me as a fun…
