I was watching a video about Family of Nomads, and I'd like to just put this out there,
My mom has a friend who does (did? Not sure) van life before it was trendy.
And let me tell you.
Their children were all very young when I last saw them, the oldest being eight with two younger siblings separated by maybe 3 years each? Not sure about the age gap, but one was eight, one was somewhere in the middle, and one was a young toddler. This was about 4 or 5 years ago though, so I'm not sure how or what they're doing now.
They visited us, once, and those kids were kind of messed up. Nothing really wrong with them, but the eldest was obsessed with Instagram already and clearly had not been given any lessons in internet safety.
Not to mention, all three kids shared one phone. Which, while there's nothing wrong with this, especially at that age, it was kind of scary to see such young children having all-access to social media and whatever they want on this phone while clearly not having had any sort of lessons about how to be safe on the internet. Especially when I, as a(n about) 13-year-old, didn't have any access to any social media. It felt weird.
There were a few other things that stood out. The kids demanded privacy in the bathroom, in a house where they were the guests and there was only three bathrooms total, to film a video opening a slime package they had sent to our house. I learned after they left that the eldest had already drunk a whole glass of some sort of water-looking alcohol.
The standing on the chair to take Instagram pics meme? That was the eldest whenever we went out to eat.
And probably the most heartbreaking was the youngest screaming and crying about not wanting to leave THE HOUSE. Not us, not the toys, not the dogs, the house. The physical building. All the kids were getting upset about leaving the house. My mom herself explained that it was probably because they missed having bedrooms and being in one place.
I never went into their RV. So, I don't actually know what the setup was. But I saw it, and that bitch wasn't big enough to have three young kids and two adults in full-time.
Even back then I was really concerned and weirded out by these kids. I felt so bad for them. Sometimes I wonder how they're doing and where they are now, but then I also think that I don't really want to know in case they're doing worse.

I'm a little odd and I refuse to niche down. I'm a writer, photographer, crafter, D&D player, costume maker, art lover, blacksmith, and so many other things from time to time.
I'll be sharing some of my personal work here and occasionally journaling about my thoughts and experiences as a digital nomad.

Everybody talks about cutting people off, but nobody talks about the grief that comes with having a stand firm on that decision, knowing it is not what I wanted, but what was necessary for my well being. Ride, to forget.

writing new characters for supernatural but british and this story wants so bad to say something about the concept of migration and immigration and the consequences of leaving your home and building a new one. And I don't know what it wants to say about that or why

sorry if u already answered this question, but how do you scan your art? like via phone or a printer or smth else? It looks so good!🙏
I usually scan with a flatbed scanner in 400dpi, as I found it gave me the nicest quality without being too large, but 300dpi is also fine.
The secret to getting good scan quality is Know Thy Printer. Every scanner has its unique traits you want to compensate for, be it low contrast, over saturating, or washing out colours. My great art hack is adjusting for this post scan! I found duplicating and multiplying the layer (fading opacity based on need) helped fix a *lot* of issues with the ink scanning ‘washed out’.

First Post of Brand New Blog-Rehabbing Three Houses~Rachel Holbert Jones Lookout Mountain, Tennessee
Here I am, all set up and ready to go. I’m in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee to rehab, not one but three houses. This means I should be here awhile. We (my Uncle and his business partners) decided to get me set up in a camper on the property of the first house we are rehabbing. It’s quite a large piece of property and we found a relatively flat place to set this camper up since I will be here…

For t$$: What would be everyone's role in a zombie apocalypse?
I picture them all being a part of a community of survivors that have made a kind of peaceful life
Kaius would be aiding in the research to find a cure
Joy is in the armory (ofc), and manufactures bullets once supply starts running low
Jericho is with the medics most of the time, helping take care of patients and supporting Marla (who has more med knowledge)
Benji is a scavenger since he's good at sneaking around and can pick locks to find better supplies
Hunter is Benjis's partner for scav missions because he's more combat adept and keeps our boi safe
Vic and Sahota would be part of a raider group who come along to stir things up and ruin lives
