My Thoughts On... #39 - "iCarly" (2021) getting cancelled 👩🏻🧑🏻🧑🏻👩🏿👧🏿📹💻📱❌

I'm sure many of you have found out the disappointing news that the 2021 reboot of the sitcom iCarly is getting cancelled after 3 seasons. I know a majority of people who were fans of iCarly, especially back when it was originally on Nickelodeon, are either devastated or outraged that the show is coming to an end for the second time in over a decade. I've seen trending tags on Twitter (or should I say X?) that are like #SaveiCarly or #WeWantiCarlyS4. I'm not sure if those tags are going to make a difference or not, but to tell you the truth, I'm kind of undecided whether I'm for or against the iCarly reboot getting cancelled. I mean, I was a fan of the original Nickelodeon version up until it ended in 2012. However, when it was rebooted to Paramount+ in 2021, I didn't really watch much in the way of it. Mainly because it's a lot different from the original series. Like how Jennette McCurdy didn't return as Sam Puckett, or Noah Munck not returning as Gibby. Plus, it's more adult-targeted. Such as the off-color language, and one episode involving a sex worker. Another reason why I didn't watch it all that much is because I don't have Paramount+, and I'd rather not waste my money on it. I mean, I did watch clips of it on YouTube, mainly such episodes as "iFauxpoligize", "i'M Cursed" "iRobot Wedding", "iGuess Everyone Just Hates Me Now", "iDragged Him", "iObject, Lewbert!", "iLove Gwen", and "iMLM". But anyway, even though I'm not as interested in the reboot as I was with the original show, I'm indecisive if the series should return for a 4th season or if they should go ahead and end the series. Because, mainly the reason why they're cancelling the iCarly reboot after 3 seasons is because the fans finally got what they were hoping for, which is Carly and Freddie becoming a couple. I mean, I'm sure while iCarly was on Nickelodeon, some people were hoping that Sam and Freddie would become a couple, which they did, but only for a few episodes. However, now that Creddie finally happened, Paramount+ feels that there's nothing more they need to accomplish with the reboot. Or somewhere along those lines. But then again, they could always do an episode where Carly and Freddie get married. Would that be what the fans want? For Carly to go from Carly Shay to Carly Benson? As well as Carly and Freddie having a kid? It's likely that they would. But like I said, even though the reboot doesn't give me the same interest as the Nickelodeon version, I'm still not officially in favor of iCarly ending again after almost 11 years. I mean, people were happy that iCarly finally returned after it initially concluded almost 9 years ago. But should I be indifferent towards their disappointment? No way, what kind of person would I be? But anyway, those are my thoughts on the sudden cancellation of the 2021 reboot of iCarly.
