Survivor - Riley Ruckus/Nick Nack

A/N: Another fic for @soheavyaburden​ ‘s A Year Of Whump.

“Existential dread?” Nick speaks softly, looking over at Riley who is definitely not as steady as usual. He knows why. Riley had always known her purpose but without Mortimer, without Owen, it’s harder to know what to do or why they should even try.

“Little bit.”

Riley’s eyes close and she sighs. She doesn’t usually talk so softly but there’s a broken-ness to the way she breathes that makes Nick pause before he comes closer, his arms wrap around her as they stand. Being a survivor isn’t easy for either of them, the losses of Mortimer and Owen have hurt them and Daisy had retreated away from Riley who looked all the more pained when Daisy’s scream echoes from behind her door.

“That doesn’t help…”

“Give her time Love…”

His eyes close at the words and he’s surprised to hear her laugh.

“Love, huh? Care to prove that hypothesis?”

Maybe, he thinks, just maybe, it will be worth risking it all.

Lines, Vines, and Trying Times is the best Jonas Brothers album. Absolutely no skips, AND it’s the reason the original version of Better Than Revenge exists. AND we got Niley content. What an album. Common is on it for some reason. World War III is the best opening track of any album ever. Straight bangers
