We spotted beautiful Billy first on TikTok, where he clearly has a very big… sense of humour. To say he was enthusiastic to get in our tank is an understatement, and we were so glad we could finally make it happen.

As well as a smoulder and a smile, Billy wears all his own gear – Nike gym kit, FCB footie gear, a Box singlet and a Calvin Klein jock. He also gets properly naked.

Keram 18 Km? Siapa Takut? Ya, Saya

wkwk oke, waktunya bercerita kisah keram 18 km seorang pemuda asal Sukoharjo di event lebarannya maraton Indonesia. Borobudur Marathon.

Singkat cerita, kita flashback dulu dari keberangkatan. Hari Sabtu, habis dzuhur tet, naik apa? yak benar, motor, biar hemat. Panas? apa itu? buah? salahh ee salahh, nanas. Berdua, dengan fotografer pribadi, Fatih Ndut. Perjalanan ke Magelang via Kopeng. Sampai di penginapan (baca : rumah bude nya teman) sekitar bada ashar. Langsung lanjut ambil Racepack di Artos, Armada Town Square, one and only Mall in Magelang.

Kalo mau dibandingin sama Mangkunegaran Run, ini sih 1000 kali lebih jos. Baru masuk, gapake ngantri langsung ambil. Dan disambut gapura sok neon neon dan futuristik. Ditambah ada nama yang bisa muncul di layar, auto foto lah jelas. Boothnya ngga ada yang terlalu menarik, karena mahal semua. Paling ya cuma foto di beberapa spot aja, sama ikut ngeramein corat coret. Agak kecewa ga ketemu artis, cuma ketemu Mas Aiman aja, uhuk, hiks.

Kelar dari racepack, jelas lah, H-1 raceday, apalagi marathon, wajib carbo loading. Kamu ga punya duit? jangan santai, karena minimal tetep harus punya lah wkwk, walau dikit. Duitmu dikit? santai, ada Geprek Mantul, ayam boleh satu, tapi jangan sampai nasi cuma satu (centong) juga, karena apa? karena ambil sendiri. Yak benar, sefruit tips carbo loading bagi yang, ehem, punya keinginan yang cukup besar di masa depan kan ya, sehingga menunda pengeluaran berlebih hari ini (baca : duitnya dikit) kunjungilah warung nasi sepuasnya terdekat.

Kelar makan balik ke penginapan (baca : rumah budenya temen), langsung apa? yoi, langsung buka racepack, ambil baju racenya, pake buat tidur semalaman, biar 'adaptasi' dululah ya kan? (baca : seneng dapat baju baru). Dan jangan lupa, mandatory foto, gear race esok hari, ditata, difoto flat dari atas. cekrek. turu.

Bangun jam 2.30 WIB, adus, sumringah, makan pisang, minum air putih, macak ganteng, sikatan, biar nyaman mlayune, apik fotone. Berangkat naik motor lagi, sampai di kawasan borobudur, ebuset, emang bole semacet ini. Dalam hati mbatin, ni mesti ketar ketir yang naik mobil, auto pemanasan dari dalem. wkwk. Parkir di warung deket loket masuknya borobudur.

Sampe sono pas banget adzan subuh, langsung cari toilet. (baja kalimat setelah ini pake iklan klinik Tong Fang) Awalnya saya agak kebelet, tapi setelah saya meihat antriannya, perut saya membaik seketika wah! terima kasih antrian. Dan apalah guna menyegerakan hajat ketika kamu punya Yang Maha Kuasa Atas Segala, termasuk rasa mules di perut, so mari lanjut ke Musholla terdekat, mendekat diri dan mengadukan rasa dan antrian ini kepadaNya.

Sholat berjamaah, kelar solat nitipin barang bawaan sama siap siap ke startline. Ga pake pemanasan, cuma pake baju celana sepatu leg sleeve jam tangan sama semangat. Jangan ditiru, hanya dilakukan oleh profesional segelintir orang tolol.

Menunggu race, seperti biasa, kita screening gear manusia manusia masokis yang mau lari 42k. 910? ortus? apa itu gaes? minimal sepatu tuh New Balance lahh. Nike Adidas Hoka Asics Puma udah kayak sandal di masjid. Tapi nih kalo jumatan, fix pergi pulang beda semua sih alas kakinya. Baju bola? kaos oblong? cuih, minimal kaos tu singlet ada tanda garis tiga, nb, centang, atau macan lompat lah, kalo masi pake lambang klub bola, mundur dulu selangkah. Kamu gapake kacamata? gapake visor? mending tambah lagi mundurnya selangkah. leg sleeve kamu bukan 2XU? dah gausa dikasi tau, selangkah lagi ya bang. Lari olahraga paling murah? pfft, situ lari apa latian dikejar habis maling? aowkwowk

ya kira kira gitu lah penampilan sebagian rangorang wkwkwk.

Dan tibalah 05.00 am 19 November 2023, bendera dikibarkan, terompet ditiupkan, penyiksaan 42 km + dirasakan. gwencana yo gwencana. Duh kedawan, lanjut part 2

CW; ableism. no offense but i want the same energy we have for rick riordan's treatment of adhd and dyslexia, if not more, for his treatment of PTSD, DID/OSDD and schizophrenia

Here's an excerpt from the Titan's Curse of Rioardan depicting "madness", found towards the end of chapter 15 (page 238 on my copy);

"One guard put his pistol between his teeth like it was a bone and ran around on all fours." (Talk about taking 'dehumanizing' literally). "Two others dropped their guns and started waltzing with each other. The fourth began doing what looked like an Irish clogging dance. It would have been funny if it hadn't been so terrifying." (I don't even know what to start with there; the idea that someone experiencing a mental health episode that's causing them to act irrationally is 'funny', or the fearmongering of people who just need proper, informed help).

Meanwhile, the entire Heroes of Olympus series doesn't seem to know the difference between DID/OSDD type disorders and schizophrenia. Pretty big fucking differences, and I have another post (one of my only posts, you can find it easily on my profile) going in depth about that issue and the many ways, from the perspective of a DID system, that's harmful to people with both disorders. But the gods having "multiple personalities" (NEVER refer to DID/OSDD this way) is pretty much either played for laughs or to make a conflict. DID/OSDD is not schizophrenia, and likewise, schizophrenia is not DID/OSDD. They are different disorders, and need to be treated as such. Neither is a shameful thing to have or a moral failing.

But every time a god's DID is brought up in the plot, it's either a scary thing (Minerva being totally out of touch and treating Annabeth terribly), or a funny thing (Nike being restrained and gagged by the heroes while in mental distress.).

In the Trials of Apollo, which does admittedly show significant improvement in showing us how Meg responds to abuse, this is never brought up. It is as if Apollo has been a singlet (the term for a person without DID/OSDD) all along, despite that not being true. Even if a DID or OSDD system manages a complete 'integration' of all parts, which is possible, the disorder is still present. The mind still retains the ability to split into more alters if it feels the need to do so.

The PTSD all these characters should have is just flat-out ignored. No long term issues, because "demigods don't get PTSD", I guess.

I never see this talked about in the fandom. The issues of people with more severe mental disorders and psychiatric disabilities are often ignored, because of shit like the excerpt above, where at best we're treated like we can't possibly understand reality/our own minds, and at worst, we're treated like monsters to be scared of.
