Two oldie doodles from late 2018-early 2019!
1st one was maskless penny plutonium and la piñata, these were made after watching nightmare on lucha street and field of screams respectively.
and the 2nd one was a planned mini comic that was never made (idk what was the plot lol) so i just cutted out la piñata.

For all its claims of retroactive continuity, the latter-day Halloween trilogy sure relies heavily on what it purports to ignore. Halloween Kills rehashed Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, and now Halloween Ends seems to take its cues from Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, in a way picking up where that one left off.
This latest installment could certainly use a subtitle; perhaps something along the lines of Michael Myers, We Hardly Knew Ye. When Laurie Strode calls Michael “the personification of evil,” she means it quite literally. And why not? After all, it’s much easier to label him a bogeyman (nay, The Bogeyman) than it is to even attempt to answer the question of just who the fuck Michael Myers is.
Mind you, I don’t want his Wikipedia biography; when it comes to villains, less is always more. The problem is that this movie reminds me of the old anecdote about Billy Wilder asking Jack Lemmon to give him “less” take after take, until Lemmon finally snapped, “what do you want?! Nothing?!” — which is exactly what Halloween Ends gives us.
The filmmakers remain at all times oddly incurious regarding Michael’s actions (or lack thereof); it’s as if they have grown themselves weary of the character, relegating him to the background and in the process officially turning Halloween Ends into the Blade: Trinity of this franchise.
First, they try to find a substitute (in spite of its title, the film is a halfhearted ‘passing of the torch;’ sort of like the new Candyman only nowhere near as well executed). This endeavor fails miserably because the movie cares about as little for this heir apparent as it does for The Shape himself. The character, called Corey Cunningham, is given a domineering mother (as if we haven’t that before), but don’t go blaming the parents just yet; the old woman is no Norma Bates/Margaret White, and her only sin is to have been written as a hag just so that no one (audience included) will miss her when she gets got.
Then again, several people get butchered (though the kills are nothing to write home about either), their bodies left lying in a pool of their own blood, yet nobody seems to even notice. For all intents and purposes there are only two cops in this town, and one of them — who may or may not be retired — can’t be bothered to give a single solitary fuck when the other one disappears (who on the other hand doesn’t even get a perfunctory ‘hey, what happened to so-and-so’?).
Where was I? Oh, yeah. So, when the New Michael angle goes absolutely nowhere, the filmmakers simply rush toward the arbitrary conclusion, which not only is anything but conclusive (they may crush Mike’s body, but what about his spirit?), but also rather ‘meh!’ Like, is this what we waited almost half a century for? Really?
Now, what I really want to know is, since when does Michael fucking Myers need a tag team partner? The previous movie pretty much declared him a God, so why is he hiding in a filthy sewer like Ron Perlman in Beauty and the Beast? The Sideshow Bob to Laurie’s Bart Simpson, Michael was never all that impressive, but this movie effectively cuts his fucking balls off. To continue the wrestling analogy, in Mexican lucha libre there’s no worse insult than taking another luchador’s mask away from them. That’s literally what they do to The Shape in this film.
But then, maybe the only thing that can really kill him for good is a tepid sequel, just like the 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street remake finally put Freddy Krueger to sleep. If this truly be the end, then good riddance to bad rubbish.

““Halloween Ends” is one of the best horror movies of the year. Let’s start this review with that. I don’t consider myself a “Halloween” connoisseur …”
Yeah, someone who clearly wouldn’t know their ass from a hole in the ground is not a “connoisseur” of anything.
“I don’t know if it was the high after watching Rob Zombie’s “Halloween II” … but I absolutely loved “Halloween Ends.””
Well, that explains a lot. On the one hand, literally everything looks better compared to a Rob Zombie movie; on the other hand, if you actually liked Zombie’s Halloween II, you obviously have no judgment whatsoever.
“Green’s “Halloween” and “Halloween Kills” essentially take place over the course of around 24 hours. Therefore, giving a time jump to “Halloween Ends” offers a moment of retrospection and introspection.”
Quite the contrary; this jump cut allows the filmmakers to avoid dealing with the immediate aftermath of the events that took place during those 24 hours.
“As much as I like most of the films in the franchise, except for the first one …”
Like I said, no judgment.
“ … since I care about Allyson and I’m rooting for Corey … ”
Why the hell would you root for a guy who dusts off the tired, old “if I can’t have her no one will”?
“Green takes a little bit of “The Revenge of Michael Myers”, a little bit of “IT”, and even a bit of “Christine”, and concocts the most sickening, slightly supernatural, parasitic, and diabolical version of Michael Myers yet, in my opinion.”
You are aware that Michael does next to nothing in this movie other than letting a male babysitter push him around, aren’t you? If anything, Halloween Ends is closer to A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge than any of those films (or any entry in the Halloween franchise, for that matter).
“Every scene with him and the people he influences genuinely made me gasp, hold my head in shock, applaud, and almost break into tears.”
Oh, so now he’s an influencer.
Film Review: Halloween Ends★★★★☆ David Gordon Green rounds out his trilogy with a definitive ending for the long-running horror series. An absurd…cine-vue.com
“Fears that Ends would repeat the same mistakes [as Kills] are quickly banished with a series-best prologue that succeeds at paying homage to Carpenter as well as being nail-bitingly tense and shocking.”
“Nail-bitingly tense and shocking” though it may be, it’s hard to tell how exactly it pays homage to Carpenter — in a Halloween-related way I mean. Equally difficult to ascertain is how this prologue qualifies as a “series-best” when it would work better as an intro to its own horror story, or even as a standalone short, as opposed to prefacing a Michael Myers/Laurie Strode tale. All things considered, this introduction only serves as a harbinger of doom (as in ‘this movie is doomed to fail’).
“In focussing [sic] on their emotional travails, Ends succeeds in making us care about its three leads.”
Uh, didn’t the filmmakers already have two whole films to make us care about two of the three protagonists? Conversely, another 12 movies would not suffice to make us give a crap about the third main character (I’m not counting Michael because he has been reduced to a glorified extra).
“For all its missteps, Halloween Kills gets it right where it matters: namely, in the final showdown between Laurie and Michael. Their four-decade enmity is finally given figure at once domestic and baroque.”
That would be true if it weren’t a crock of shit. A mere afterthought, to call this “final showdown” anticlimactic is an insult to both climaxes and prefixes.

Season Nineteen comes to a close with Let’s Get Invisible. Results under the cut.
Match #1: Singles Contest Green Ant (1 point) vs. Juan Francisco de Coronado (1 point) Dasher Hatfield joined Scott Holladay on commentary for this one, and, interestingly enough, took offense to Scott calling him the interim champ. Hmm! Green Ant fought hard, but unfortunately made the mistake of going for a high risk move. As a result, he was caught in the Coronado Clutch and forced to tap out. WINNER: Juan Francisco de Coronado (2 points), Green Ant is out of the standings Match #2: Four Corner Elimination Tag Icarus and Tony Deppen (1 point) vs. Cornelius Crummels and Sonny DeFarge (1 point) vs. Jeremy Leary and Blanche Babish vs. Los Ice Creams Deppen attempted to flirt with Blanche at the start, asking her out to Olive Garden. Unfortunately for him, this only got him attacked by her. The Ice Creams were eliminated first as Crummels rolled up Hijo for the pin. This resulted in the F.I.S.T. duo going on the figurative warpath against the legitimate businessmen, breaking up their pins to try to keep them from getting more points. This singlemindedness regarding points left them open to Leary and Blanche, as Deppen was soon made to tap out to the Soda Jerk. A high/low lariat/chop block combination soon dropped Leary, ending the match and sending Crummels and DeFarge on to a shot at whoever captures the CdP later on. Let’s hope they don’t lose it again in some bullcrap way! WINNERS: Cornelius Crummels and Sonny DeFarge (3 points), Icarus and Tony Deppen are out of the standings Match #3: Singles Contest Penelope Ford vs. BLANK Hopefully no corny joke about Ford from commentary this time. Ford didn’t fare too well in this go-round, as her more showier offense eventually led to BLANK countering a back handspring with an elbow straight to the back of her head, KOing her for the win. He then posed her and had Still Life take a picture of her, calling it “A Lily In Place Of A Rose”. WINNER: BLANK (1 point) Match #4: 4-on-3 Street Fight The Proteus Wheel vs. Axel Ford, Lucas Calhoun, and Missile Assault Man Ford, Calhoun, and MAM did the smart thing to begin the match: they tried to isolate Professor Nicodemus. All three got maced for their troubles as Nicodemus fled to the floor. Lots of weaponry for everyone in this match, as the Wheel had brought a trash can full of stuff. There was even a fishing rod involved at one point. The match eventually came full circle when Nicodemus was isolated from his experiments again, and MAM hit him with a Scorpion Death Drop for the win. WINNERS: Axel Ford, Lucas Calhoun, and Missile Assault Man INTERMISSION Match #5: Singles Contest Boomer Hatfield vs. Hallowicked In what I’m sure is becoming a bit depressing for him, Boomer came up on the short end of things fairly quickly. Three Nightmares in a row got Hallowicked the win. Kid just can’t catch a break, really. WINNER: Hallowicked (1 point) Match #6: Atomicos Contest The Creatures of the Deep vs. Fire Ant, Thief Ant, Razerhawk, and Danjerhawk With Oceanea firmly in charge, the Creatures returned to form as the dominant group that they should be, with even Hermit Crab and Cajun Crawdad (who’ve been rather depressing as a tag team, though it should be pointed out that both have had their fair share of success in the singles ranks, with Crawdad in particular holding two points) pulling their own weight. Two attempts at the Tidal Wave were countered/prevented, with the third eventually putting Razer away to end the match. Lots of offense from both teams throughout. WINNERS: The Creatures of the Deep Match #6: Singles Contest Solo Darling (2 points) vs. Travis Huckabee (1 point) Taking a page from Huckabee’s playbook, Solo ran out to jump him before the match even started, causing him to try to hide. The two played a little cat and mouse as the match started, and Huckabee pulled out every dirty trick he could to attempt to get the upper hand. Multiple piledrivers couldn’t get the job done this time, so he soon attempted Solo’s own SharpStinger, only for her to get to the ropes and outside the ring. Giving in to frustration, Huckabee attacked three students on the outside before pulling up a protective mat and attempting a third piledriver on the bare floor, but Solo fortunately countered out of it. Getting back in the ring, Huckabee attempted to placate Solo with apologies, even doing their old handshake before attempting the sneaky rollup. Solo kicked out, then locked Huckabee in his own Golden Dream submission, tapping him out. WINNER: Solo Darling (3 points), Travis Huckabee is out of the standings Match #7: Campeonatos de Parejas Defense #4 The Closers vs. The Whisper and Princess Kimberlee Streamers and a “Happy birthday” chant for Whisper, though it apparently wasn’t actually his birthday. Guess people wanted to honor it while they could! Commentary was thoroughly confused by the whole thing. The Closers scored the first fall fairly quickly, with Sloan Caprice rolling up Kimberlee and getting a little extra leverage via a handful of trunks. The challengers soon evened up the odds, with Kimberlee pinning Rick Roland after he missed a moonsault and knocked himself a little goofy. The challengers, refusing to tag each other in, utilized the Lucha tag rule to make their tags throughout. When Whisper was about to fall prey to the same thing that scored the Closers the first fall, Kimberlee (apparently forgetting that she hates her partner for a bit) hopped in to break that up. Whisper than gave her a hug in gratitude, annoying her into German suplexing him...straight into Caprice, resulting in the unlikely duo become the unlikely Campeones de Parejas. Seeing how she’d accidentally thwarted her own attempt at getting away from her somewhat-erstwhile tormentor, Kimberlee stormed off, leaving Whisper with both titles. WINNERS and NEW CAMPEONES: The Whisper and Princess Kimberlee INTERMISSION #2 Match #8: Grand Championship Defense #4 Dasher Hatfield vs. Ophidian Ophidian amped up the aggression quickly in this, even attempting to upset Dasher before the match by saying that he was ready to “actually earn” the title and even pulling out one of the 17 Forgotten Holds during it. Both men eventually began to favor a body part, Dasher his arm due to the aforementioned Forgotten Hold and Ophidian his knee after bashing it into the ring while attempting to hit Dasher on the outside. Ophidian was unfortunately left wanting again, as his powerbomb/Egyptian Destroyer setup resulted in Dasher popping up from the latter and nailing him with a Roaring Elbow, ending the match in the interim champ’s favor... ...and leaving Ophidian knocked out afterward. An interesting note was that this was the same elbow pad that Mark Angelosetti gifted Dasher during the Challenge of the Immortals, the one that was later revealed to be loaded. And apparently it’s still loaded. WINNER: Dasher Hatfield After the match, Boomer came out to celebrate, as did Touchdown, who had an announcement for everyone: as of the 10th, he is cleared to return to the ring and can defend the Grand Championship himself. There was just one problem with that gameplan: Dasher’s had a taste of the gold and he’s not quite willing to give that up yet. After Touchdown was handed the title by Bryce Remsburg, Dasher yanked it back and nailed Touchdown with an elbow, laying him out as well before leaving with the title. Boomer lingered to check on Touchdown, but was quickly ordered out by his father.

Warning: *This article contains SPOILERS *
On Saturday, June 29, 2019, streaming on B/R Live and Fite TV, from Daytona Beach, Florida, All Elite Wrestling (in conjunction with CEO Gaming) presented its second event, FYTER FEST.
This was a wild night of bell-to-bell action and a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed debut pay-per-view, DOUBLE OR NOTHING. Calling tonight’s action at the broadcast booth were Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Goldenboy.
The preshow BUY IN saw the Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Baretta) vs. SoCal Uncensored (Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian) vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen). It was a hot opener and a perfect way to kick off the show, with all three teams shining, and Private Party, in particular, putting on a star making performance. It was hotly contested, because the winners will get an opportunity at ALL OUT to compete for a Bye in the AEW Tag Team Title Tournament. Trent Baretta scored the pin fall on Kassidy.
Your winners: The Best Friends
In an unannounced match, “the Librarian”, Leva Bates, (accompanied by “the Librarian” Peter Avalon), was silenced by Allie.
Your winner: Allie
Closing out the preshow in a match that has to be seen to be believed, Michael Nakazawa fought non wrestler, CEO’s Alex Jebailey, in a hardcore match. The match was full of Nakazawa’s baby oil, along with arcade console buttons and various other plunder. After using his thong as a distraction, Nakazawa reversed a La Magistral cradle by Jebailey for the win.
Your winner: Michael Nakazawa
FYTER FEST’s opened with “the Fallen Angel”, Christopher Daniels, competing against longtime rival CIMA. Both competitors know the other like the back of their hand, and this contest was about as evenly matched as any bout on tonight’s card. Cima scored the upper hand and won with the Meteora.
Your winner: CIMA
In a three-way match, it was Nyla Rose vs. Yuka Sakazaki vs. Riho. Just like DOUBLE OR NOTHING, the female wrestlers had the spectators on their feet. Despite the distinct size advantage, and after some tremendous power moves, Nyla Rose was pinned suddenly after a roll through as she attempted a Beast Bomb on Riho.
Your winner: Riho
Hangman Page, Jimmy Havoc, MJF, and Jungle Boy (accompanied by Luchasaurus) battled it out in a four-way match. With Hangman Page scheduled to face Chris Jericho for the AEW World Championship in Chicago, this was a chance for someone besides Page to make a name if they could score a victory and leave him in the dust. Ultimately, Page pinned Jimmy Havoc after a Deadeye in a very competitive match.
Your winner: Hangman Page
A lot of buzz and social media chatter surrounded the Cody and Darby Allin match, and that was even before the post match attack on Cody from Shawn Spears. Cody had the power advantage on the debuting Darby Allin, but there was no denying Allin’s fighting spirit. Allin is a bit of an enigma, seen coming out to the ring carrying a body bag with Cody’s name spray-painted onto it. Allin took a brutal beating from Cody, and Cody seemed a bit perplexed at times. What would it take to put this man down? How was Allin still standing after everything Cody was dishing out? The longer the match went on, the more frenzied it became, but just as it appeared Cody was about to score an official three-count, the bell rang as the 20-minute time limit expired.
Your winner: Draw
As Cody and Brandi Rhodes demanded five more minutes, Shawn Spears ran in with a steel chair and wrapped it around Cody’s skull with a wicked shot. Cody was left in a puddle of blood, and after medical attention, “the American Nightmare” required 12 staples.
With Jon Moxley vs. Joey Janela being non-sanctioned, technically the main event of FYTER FEST was Kenny Omega with Nick and Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks in a three-man tag against the Lucha Bros. and the Laredo Kid. In a nice nod to the CEO Gaming fans in attendance, the Elite were cosplaying as Ryu, Ken, and Akuma from the Street Fighter games. This match was anything but a button-masher, as both teams executed smooth, calculated combos, at the highest level of difficulty. It was apropos that the Elite had attire matching video game characters, because the high risk, high flying on display didn’t appear to be human; it was more akin to watching a live-action video game. After hitting his patented One Winged Angel, Omega pinned Laredo Kid.
Your winners: The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega
Jon Moxley made his AEW in-ring debut in an unsanctioned match against “Bad Boy” Joey Janela. AEW officials were uncertain as to what Moxley was capable of now that he’s escaped from the confines of his straight jacket, so they didn’t want to be held liable for what might occur once he and Janela were let loose. It was a wise decision, because like sadistic, starving sharks, both men wanted first blood and the taste of victory. All the stops were pulled out as this became a hardcore display of violence; thumbtacks, tables, barbed wire, chairs, and ladders were all utilized to gruesome effect. It was a valiant effort by both men, with each suffering copious amounts of punishment, but Moxley’s experience edge made him the odds on favorite over the younger Janela. Finally, it was a DDT that put Janela away.
Your winner: Jon Moxley
Unfortunately for Moxley, his night was only just beginning. Seeking to gain revenge after the events of DOUBLE OR NOTHING, Kenny Omega returned to even the score. Omega ambushed Moxley, dragging him to the entrance ramp. It’s there that Omega used band equipment from the FYTER FEST set, such as a drum kit and guitar, to play the greatest hits on an already worn down and bloody Moxley. Once they were finally separated, Moxley was helped out, but with a sly grin on his face. Things have escalated and there’s no telling what’ll go down when the two face off in Chicago at ALL OUT.

The Road to WrestleMania hits its final PPV this Sunday before the biggest event in Tampa this April. It’s the Elimination Chamber with not one, but two chamber matches.
Neither WWE Champion Brock Lesnar nor Universal Champion Bill Goldberg will defend their titles on the event so that their respective WrestleMania matches against Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns stay intact. But, most of the other titles are either on the line are have #1 contender matches for them coming up Sunday.
Here’s the full card:
Women’s Elimination Chamber Match with winner to face RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at WrestleMania – Shayna Baszler vs. Asuka vs. Liv Morgan vs. Natalya vs. Sarah Logan vs. Ruby Riott
Intercontinental Championship 3-on-1 Handicap Match: Braun Strowman vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn
Smackdown Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber Match: The Miz & John Morrison vs. The New Day vs. Lucha House Party vs. Heavy Machinery vs. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode vs. The Usos
No Disqualification Match: Aleister Black vs. AJ Styles
RAW Tag Team Championship: The Street Profits vs. Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy
United State Championship Match: Andrade vs. Humberto Carrillo
Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak
That tag team match in the chamber should steal the show! I wouldn’t expect a ton of surprises, but you never know when Vince McMahon wants to shake things up. After all, we all thought we were getting Roman Reigns vs. The Fiend until Goldberg walked back in the door. Now, it’s John Cena back in the picture as Bray Wyatt looks for a six-year revenge on Cena for his WrestleMania 30 defeat.
WrestleMania Card:
WWE Championship Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre
Universal Championship Match: Bill Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns
NXT Women’s Championship Match: Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair
John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt/The Fiend
Star of the Week:
Randy Orton – No one is touching him at the moment! Will be interesting to see what they have in store when Edge returns this Monday night!
RAW
RESULTS
RAW Tag Team Title Match: The Street Profits defeated Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy to win the titles
24/7 Championship Match: Riddick Moss defeated Ricochet to retain title
Aleister Black defeated Karl Anderson
Aleister Black defeated Luke Gallows (DQ)
AJ Styles defeated Aleister Black
Liv Morgan defeated Ruby Riott
Shayna Baszler defeated Kairi Sane
Rey Mysterio Jr. & Humberto Carrillo defeated Andrade and Angel Garza
What we loved:
The @WWEUniverse remains stunned after @RandyOrton gave @TheBethPhoenix an RKO on #RAW! pic.twitter.com/PQaVbVaM9j
— WWE (@WWE) March 5, 2020
The Beth & Randy Story – Such a good angle that Randy Orton keeps delivering week after week. This week, Beth Phoenix was up to the task as well delivering the update on her husband Edge as he tries to comeback from his attack by Orton. When Orton told Beth that it’s her fault that Edge was attacked, you could hear a pin drop! Then, with a show-stealing RKO, Orton’s heel quotient went through the roof! You don’t mess with a man’s wife, right! I’m sure Orton should’ve learned that when he picked on Stephanie McMahon in his feud with Triple H. By far, it’s the best thing going these days in the WWE.
Aleister Black’s gauntlet – Love the push for Black. Having to go through The OC is good way to showcase his toughness while still keeping AJ Styles strong as he heads to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
The #StreetProfits now have the #RAW #TagTeamTitles!#AndNew@AngeloDawkins @MontezFordWWE pic.twitter.com/Sk4vBdfGpo
— WWE (@WWE) March 4, 2020
Smoked Champions – With a side assist from Kevin Owens to stun Seth Rollins, The Street Profits are atop the Tag Team Division on RAW as new champs. It’s nice to see a tag team rule the roost and gives TSP some “smoke” in the ring to go with their mic skills. Now, Rollins and the Monday Night Minions will be plotting their revenge against Owens I’m sure for next week.
Holy Claymore! – Once, twice, thrice as nice as Drew McIntyre puts the boots, literally to WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. Let’s have these two get as physical as they can before Tampa’s title tilt at WrestleMania. This should be an all-out war!
What we hated:
Ricochet’s burial – What did Ricochet do to the powers that be in the WWE to make him loss a 2-minute match at Super Showdown to Brock Lesnar in his first shot at the WWE Championship. Then, King Ricochet gets pinned clean by Riddick Moss. Seriously? Losing to the 24/7 Champion in a very ordinary match isn’t what you’d like to see heading into the biggest event of the year. Makes me think something else could be up there.
A tarantula, WTF! – Seriously, after weeks and weeks of Erick Rowan hiding what’s in that damn cage he brings to the ring, we get that fake as anything looking tarantula! And it gets revealed as just a matter-of-fact thing. Typical WWE. Build it up only to see it fall flat in the end. It just seems that it wasn’t thought out and turned into a throwaway. Wasted time and effort, IMHO!
NXT
RESULTS
Steel Cage Match: Dakota Kai defeated Tegan Nox
NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contender’s Ladder Qualifying Match: Chelsea Green defeated Shotzi Blackheart
The Undisputed ERA defeated Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan
Austin Theory defeated Isaiah “Swerve” Scott
Steel Cage Match: Roderick Strong defeated The Velveteen Dream
What we loved:
Just when #UndisputedERA thinks they have the answers…@DreamWWE changes the questions!!! The Dream goes after @AdamColePro and the #NXTChampionship inside of the #SteelCage!#WWENXT pic.twitter.com/aTjWCBiHH8
— WWE (@WWE) March 5, 2020
The Dream’s bigger plan – When’s the last time you saw someone throw a win literally out the front door? Well, that’s exactly what The Velveteen Dream did, tossing Roderick Strong out of the steel cage to give him a victory only to keep NXT Champion Adam Cole in the cage with him. The Dream’s new quest for the title could be Cole’s latest nightmare!
It didn't have to end like this. A trapped @TeganNoxWWE_ = a free to escape @DakotaKai_WWE #WWENXT #SteelCage @RaquelWWE pic.twitter.com/YEKnNdOiUf
— WWE NXT (@WWENXT) March 5, 2020
High flying in the cage – Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox, with a cross-body block off the top of the cage, put on a high-flyin’ show atop the steel cage at Full Sail Wednesday night. Plus, how about that move by Raquel Gonzalez trapping Nox along the outside of the cage with the backside of the steel cage door. Never seen that one before! Well done!
The intensity from @JohnnyGargano is off the charts when talking about @NXTCiampa!#JohnnyWrestling can't wait for next week on #WWENXT… pic.twitter.com/q0V34KcRZo
— WWE (@WWE) March 5, 2020
You think you know me! – No, it wasn’t Edge making an appearance on NXT, but Johnny Gargano taking it to Mauro Ranallo in a gripping, intense one-on-one interview that got to the bottom of Johnny Wrestling’s betrayal of Tommaso Ciampa at TakeOver: Portland. Love the grit to Gargano’s latest chapter.
What we didn’t love:
Two steel cage matches – While both matches on their own were very good, it’s a bit of overkill to have two on the same show. It takes away the bigness of it.
Next week’s NXT – Are we really getting an NXT show from the WWE Performance Center? Seems like a step backwards rather than branching out into something bigger and better.
SMACKDOWN
RESULTS
Bayley & Sasha Banks defeated Lacey Evans & Naomi
Sheamus defeated Apollo Crews
Liv Morgan & Sonya Deville defeated Carmella & Dana Brooke
Tag Team Gauntlet Match: Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode defeated Heavy Machinery, The Miz & John Morrison, The New Day, Lucha House Party & The Usos

— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) March 7, 2020
Otis, My Man – Heavy Machinery nearly runs the gauntlet, beating The New Day, Lucha House Party, The Usos and the tag team champs, The Miz & John Morrison before bowing to Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode. Would’ve thought we’d have a Mandy Rose sighting there in the main event.
Did that glitch out for anyone else or was it just us? #SmackDown pic.twitter.com/AEuiTsJpNj
— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) March 7, 2020
The Glitch – Killer Kross & Scarlett Bordeaux?
Is it me? – For being the Smackdown Women’s Champion, Bayley sure does get herself involved in a whole lot of tag team matches.
Is it me, two? – Why the sudden brakes on the Otis-Mandy fun? We know it’s not over with Mandy’s “it’s too late” edict to Otis this week, but this storyline is fizzling after a red-hot start that we thought was headed towards a WrestleMania smooch! Main event, as we stated previously, gave HM a boost in the ring though.
Is it me, three? – Kind of odd booking to have your tag team champs lose two straight TV matches after winning the titles in Saudi Arabia. Seems like a lock they win the Chamber match, right?
@NikkiCrossWWE is living her best life right now. #SmackDown pic.twitter.com/ZtqAoui4n6
— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) March 7, 2020
Awkward – Boy, that opening segment of A Moment of Bliss with the NWO was a bit awkward! A bit off in the timing department for sure and it’s sad to see Nash and Hall, once masters on the mic, put in the spot of silly one-liners. But, in this age where the old stars get you ratings – witness Goldberg’s and John Cena’s spike in the FOX ratings last week – it’s what we were going to continue to get. And oh yeah, that start with Nikki Cross was just awful! Alexa Bliss deserves better.

— WWE (@WWE) March 4, 2020
Congrats to JBL – The newest nominee to the WWE Hall of Fame is John “Bradshaw” Layfield. Loved JBL’s talk about the way to be a heel this past Tuesday on WWE Backstage. The way he put John Cena over and on the map is a blueprint for bad guys all over the wrestling world to learn from.
Thank you, Matt Hardy, – The end of Matt Hardy’s contract and WWE days came as March rolled in this past week. He went out with a blaze of glory being attacked by Randy Orton. Now, will it be AEW, Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling or somewhere else for Hardy and one of his alter-egos? Time will tell and the pro wrestling world will be glued!

Luis Rodriguez's "Words" and "Heavy Blue Veins: Watts 1959" + Post Laureate updates
Words
The thing is I wanted to be a writer
even before I knew what writing was about.
I wanted to carve out the words
that swim in the bloodstream,
to press a stunted pencil onto paper
so lines break free like birds in flight—
to fashion words with hair,
lengths and lengths of it,
washed with dawn’s rusting drizzle.
I yearned for mortar-lined words,
speaking in their own boasting tongues,
not the diminished, frightened stammering of my childhood,
but to shape scorching syllables with midnight dust.
Words that stood up in bed,
danced merenques and cumbias,
that incinerated the belly like a shimmering habanera.
Words with a spoonful of tears, buckshot, traces of garlic,
cilantro, aerosol spray, and ocean froth.
Words that guffawed, tarnished smooth faces,
and wrung song out of silence.
Words as languid as a woman’s stride,
as severe as a convict’s gaze,
herniated like a bad plan,
soaked as in a summer downpour.
I aspired to walk inside these words,
to manipulate their internal organs,
surrounded by veins, gray matter, and caesuras;
to slam words down like the bones of a street domino game—
and to crack them in two like lovers’ hearts.
Heavy Blue Veins: Watts, 1959
Heavy blue veins streak across my mother’s legs,
Some of them bunched up into dark lumps at her ankles.
Mama periodically bleeds them to relieve the pain.
She carefully cuts the engorged veins with a razor
And drains them into a porcelainlike metal pail
Called a tina.
I’m small and all I remember are dreams of blood,
Me drowning in a red sea, blood on sheets, on the walls,
Splashing against the white pail in streams
Out of my mother’s ankle.
But they aren’t dreams.
It is Mama bleeding—into day, into night.
Bleeding a birth of memory: my mother, my blood,
By the side of the bed, me on the covers,
And her slicing into a black vein
And filling the pail into some dark, forbidding
Red nightmare, which never stops coming,
Nevers stops pouring,
This memory of Mama and blood and Watts.
Post Laureate Updates by Luis Rodriguez
Below is a link to the recent interview with me for the Los Angeles Review of Books. https://blog.lareviewofbooks.org/events/conversation-poet-laureate-publisher-mentor-luis-rodriguez/
For further updates, I now have a publisher for a new book of essays, thanks to my new literary agent at the Sandra Dijkastra Agency. And I’m working with another publisher on a new book about a New vision for America and the World. Drawing on my Native spiritual practices and over 40 years of revolutionary study, organizing, and writing, I hope to extend the dialogue today about the four pillars of a new society: no more poverty, clean and green environment, end of social injustice (including of mass incarceration, police killings, and the rule of money in our electoral system), and peace at home and peace in the world. These were the issues I took on in my run for California governor in 2014 and as vice-presidential candidate of the US Justice Party for the 2012 national elections.
I’m also on the steering committee of the Poor Peoples Campaign and urge everyone to find out more: https://poorpeoplescampaign.org/
Here’s an article about recent actions of the new Poor Peoples Campaign: https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/a-new-poor-peoples-campaign-but-the-same-old-obstacles/2018/02/06/68ba1f58-0b61-11e8-8b0d-891602206fb7_story.html?utm_term=.438f9fe025cc
And for those who want an alternative to the corporate-run Duopoly controlling Congress and the government, I’m also on the steering committee of the US Justice Party: https://www.justicepartyusa.org/
The world is changing as most major political and religious institutions are in crisis. Yet renewal and regeneration are also coming alive.
One vibrantly alive organization is Tia Chucha’s Centro Cultural & Bookstore based in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, the second largest Mexican/Central American community in the US after the East L.A. area (with a significant African American population). This year Tia Chucha’s received a two-year grant from the Arts for Justice Fund to help change the narrative and reality of mass incarceration through the arts. We were only one of 30 non-profit organizations receiving the first round of these grants. We plan to do a film, a book, and a theater piece with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated men and women. We also plan to strengthen our work with youth through our Young Warriors program to end the “School to Prison Pipeline.” New supporters in this effort include Friends of the Family, the Diane Middleton Foundation, and others.
Trini and I, who co-founded Tia Chucha’s 17 years ago, are also making a major transition. We are no longer involved in the day-to-day operations of the cultural center/bookstore. We now have a new executive director and assistant director–Michael Centeno and Melissa Sanvicente. Trini and I have turned over most of this work to young people–including Mayra Zaragoza, who founded the Young Warriors–who have been with us since they were high school students. They are now in their late 20s as well as their mid-to-late 30s.
Trini and I will be on Tia Chucha’s Board Directors, and continue to guide and contribute. I am still founding editor of Tia Chucha Press, now publishing award-winning cross-cultural poetry books and anthologies for almost 30 years. Our latest book is Mayda Del Valle’s “A South Side Girl’s Guide to Love & Sex,” available online, where ever books are sold, as well as at Tia Chucha’s: www.tiachucha.org
I’m also still teaching Creative Writing at California State Prison, Los Angeles Count (Lancaster) for the Alliance for California Traditional Arts. I’ve been going there for ten years. I had a hiatus for a while, until I was brought back in October of 2016. In addition, I’m a script consultant for the FX-TV show “Snowfall,” co-created by John Singleton. This show dramatizes how crack came into the ghettos and barrios of Los Angeles in the early 1980s. I’ve also been asked to write a TV pilot on a possible new show based on a book about the 1992 Los Angeles Uprising. Other TV projects and movie scripts are also in the works.
My travels continue, as always, as I speak on all the pressing issues of the day. In April and March, I’ll be in New York City, Boston, St. Louis, and Las Vegas. I also have upcoming local events in San Fernando, Pomona, and in Watts. At the end of May, my family will be in the Navajo (Dine) Reservation for ceremonies with Trini’s adopted family of Anthony and Delores Lee of Lukachukai, Arizona.
I send strong prayers and well wishes to everyone. Much work is being done, but also the degrading political and economic realities are opening up opportunities for new ideas, organizing strategies, and more writing, songs, poetry, art, and theater. The youth led with strong ideas, passions, and commitment during the “March For Our Lives” rallies, around 800 held throughout the US and parts of the world.
Remember–there’s three things we need to do in this world: Bring more Beauty (art in all its forms), more truth (especially in these times when truth is under attack), and more good (a deep and abiding morality), now more than ever.
En la lucha siempre,

¡Mucha Lucha! - Through The Past Backwards - Episode 16
Two more good episodes to keep the momentum going on season two. Although, I feel they may have been produced AFTER the next episode, #17. And there was a reason for this...
I mentioned in a previous post that we had started with a new story editor, Jim Krieg. He was Kids' WB's choice. I met him once, He seemed a nice, affable guy. Trouble was, he had also landed the role of story editor on the live action series 'Monk'. And he had to be based in New York for it! I have no idea how they let this happen, but for a few episodes at least he was story editor on both shows. That is until the network notes on ML started getting too much and we started to get behind on story approvals! So Jim left to focus on Monk.
So with no stories approved and our story editor gone, our director Ken Kessel took the drastic step of proposing that we board from outlines rather than scripts...and it worked. Hence, 'The Revenge Of The Masked Toilet' has no writer credit for this very reason.
But it wasn't the first to be boarded without a script; that would be 'Pig Out' which is coming up next!

From 'A Nightmare On Lucha Street'
Love this storyboard sequence from Ricky Garduno, below...
Too bad the action in the animation is so fast that we miss the opportunity to duplicate The Flea's expressions in the board...

Good morning everyone! I have a few of the Flash files from 'A Nightmare On Lucha Street' to share...
Interestingly the scene above is a reworking of my background from the Lucha School pilot, including the masked luchador bible 'From Parts Unknown' magazine' (F.P.U) which was published by our good friend, Keith J. Rainville. (must do a post about this!)
Storyboard by Ricky Garduno. I'll post some more panels soon...

I don’t know how much you remember about this episode, but in Nightmare on Lucha Street, I recall El Cientifico claiming that he can’t enter the dream world with his invention because of back issues. I wonder whether that was simply an excuse to not help his daughter, or if he truly had back issues. I’m not sure what kind of relationship Penny Plutonium has with her dad.
He was a scientist first and a luchador second! The back issue was clearly an excuse! The Plutonium backstory is that Penny's mother - Kinetica - is the working luchador of the family, as was mostly on tour as she brought in the family income! This is why no-one ever saw her and we never designed her! I think El C was used to the Plutonium ladies doing all the hero/action work :)

¡Mucha Lucha! - Through The Past Backwards - Episode 20
Well, well, look who decided to show up...
Our new story editor Peter Hastings was well loved by WB Animation as he had worked some of their greatest hits (Animaniacs, for one I think) and directed the Country Bears feature for Disney. He was a great guy too, and a musician who lent his talents where permitted to the show's music. He warmed to Lili and myself immediately; maybe because we weren't typical 'industry' and he knew we didn't play by the rule book, because we didn't know there was one.
'Radishing' was a good episode from him, and we were happy to have an episode set in Mexico.
Someone else also decided to show up...the real Ricky Garduno!
'Lucha Rinse Repeat' was another one-line story outline with no plot or dialogue, that was put into production before Peter's appointment. Ricky had done a great job on his first two boards - M.A.SK. and Nightmare On Lucha Street', but here he decided to cut loose.
I really WISH I had his first draft board for this. There was a lot of surreal humor that was modified for the second draft. No one was quite expecting what he produced; hobos, boxcars, the Garbage King...were all Ricky's ideas. We used to have the boards pinned up in the corridors after they were pitched, and under one particular surreal panel with transforming hobos (which was changed) someone had scribbled "Am I high?"
Lucha, Rinse Repeat' also highlighted some issues I was grappling with about the series' tone...
Despite some 'fantasy' elements in some episodes (Masked Toilet, Fighting Fish, El Rey, etc), I felt we were in danger of grounding ourselves. Party Animal and 'Radishing' were very good episodes and work perfectly, but to me as things stood, we couldn't have Buena Girl's teddy bear REALLY come to life, or the little Radish doll REALLY wrestle the turnip king. But after seeing Lucha Rinse Repeat, I realized a board artist like Ricky could have actually made those things work. It was all in the world you presented within your storyboard, that defined what you could get the viewer to accept.
As I said, I think this was a pivotal moment in the series as it also showed our other artists what could be done. And a few took inspiration and ran with it, pushing each other with great storyboards.
So here we are, over halfway through season 2.
Halfway? 'What are you taking about, Eddie?', I know you are (probably not) saying to yourself...
Well right about this time we were still under the impression that season 2 was going to be 13 episodes long. That was about to change...
