Whenever a musician gets a huge respect for a variety of reasons, that same player gains many followers slash fans. Thus, Sparks ended up collaborating with Franz Ferdinand on a record together and, eh, look, this platter doesn't sound bad, but the disc does seem more like a warm up. While they claimed they intended to cooperate more often, their respective careers put a kibosh on that, which makes sense. However, I would suggest Franz Ferdinand needed this more than Sparks, i.e. the latter are in the place no one can take them away from, whereas the former continue to be viewed through their most popular period. Sure, they have a better standing at the moment than most of their peers, though they are still a part of their scene.
