Harry Potter discusses injury timeline on Full Force Podcast
In the most recent Full Force Podcast with Cairo Takarangi, Harry Potter, the utility back for the Western Force, provided an update on his injury status.
The off-season Harry Potter recruit talked about his childhood, his brief stint playing Australian Rules football in Melbourne, his championship victories in the NSW Shute Shield and England’s Premiership Rugby, poor puns, abracadraba, and much more. His Super Rugby Pacific season was cut short due to a syndesmosis injury in Round 6.
Harry Potter had surgery in April and is expected to recuperate over the course of four months. The rugby season, which ends with Super Rugby and comes before any spring series games, is a bit of a no-man’s land. A little time to get it perfect.
Harry Potter has continued to be a constant presence at Force HQ despite the injuries, participating in team meetings and working out regularly in the gym while using a knee scooter and a peg leg to get around, which made his comrades laugh. About mid-July, Potter stated on the Full Force Podcast, “I’m hoping to be back.”
Harry Potter remarked, “The knee scooter is a much better alternative. I was on crutches for a few days.” “I also have a peg leg,” You attach this peg to your leg and use it to walk about. “I received a lot of flak from the guys for strolling through the gym, so I won’t be doing that again!”
Western Force center-back Harry Harry Potter’s 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season will probably come to an end due to his scheduled syndesmosis surgery. After the Fijian Drua defeated the Pirates 31–13 on Saturday, Potter had a high ankle injury. He returned to Perth and had scans earlier this week.
Harry Potter to undergo Syndesmosis Surgery
Simon Cron, the head coach of the Force, announced that tests showed he will need surgery to syndesmose. “Unfortunately, Harry sustained an injury as a result of being tackled from behind,” Cron stated. “He finds it incredibly disappointing.”He seems a little unhappy because I just hung up on him fifteen minutes ago. “Tomorrow is his surgery day. We regretfully anticipate that Potts won’t be returning this season at this point. Max Burey will start at full back due to Potter’s injury.
Kurtley Beale, a seasoned Wallabies player, just returned to club football and will be joining the Western Force. Beale’s return to Super Rugby was made possible by Harry Potter’s injury, a versatile back whose comeback from last year was cut short before it started the daily rugby
In fact, the 95-Test Wallaby’s absence from the 2023 campaign was due to a sexual assault charge. However, he was exonerated of all allegations early this year, therefore those accusations were dropped. As soon as Beale returned for Randwick, he started working to rebuild his career. The playmaker proved he still had it in less than an hour by playing flawlessly against Brothers in the Australian Club Championship.
Harry Potter already thriving in Force’s bid for edge to edge exciting Rugby
Appearing more fit than he has in years, Beale made a single linebreak on his line and set up a counterattack that saw Randwick come back to cut the lead against Brothers. Beale’s teammate in the Waratahs’ 2014 Super Rugby title, Stephen Hoiles, his club coach, stated that “there is no doubt” that Beale was prepared for a comeback. Most significantly, Beale was persuaded by Force coach Simon Cron, who had previously coached the forwards for the Waratahs with Beale.
Niamh O’Connor, the chief executive of New Force, stated that she considered Beale as a crucial component of the ambitious Super Rugby team’s success strategies. Kurtley is an exciting addition to our plans for growth and success, and we know where we want to take the Club,” O’Connor remarked. In our conversations, Kurtley has demonstrated his unwavering commitment and enthusiasm for the game. He is eager to take advantage of this chance to play Super Rugby once more.

Quarantune is a digital platform that has been reflecting the magic of club culture since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in the beginning 2020. It was founded at the start of the pandemic by Irish Athens-based journalist and DJ Niamh O’Connor. The project includes interviews with artists, journalists and photographers such as iona, Bklava, DEBONAIR, Heléna Starr, Cromby and others. Respondents are asked to share loving dance music-related memories in the form of a photo and to remember what their chosen moment means to them.
"I produced a second Quarantune book with Aisling, the chief designer of Quarantune, because I love to learn more about the people who are responsible for maintaining dance music and various scenes around the world. I wanted to give some concrete insight into their work before I update and rename Quarantune later this year. The book is not just about showcasing diverse talents in music, but also celebrating the photographers who are responsible for documenting these snapshots in a timely manner. We are very grateful to everyone who contributed their art and helped bring this project over the line." - Niamh O´Connor
Quarantune brought out the first photo book "Quarantune 01: Music, Memories and More" in 2020, followed by the second in May 2021. It will be the last in the platform's book series before O’Connor will rename and update Quarantune later in the year. Under the title "Quarantune 02: Last Entry 3am", the limited edition book features 50 artists from all over the world. Also, it's a mix of newer photography and older memories that haven't been posted on the online platform yet. This issue highlights emerging and established talent and grassroots communities in dance music in particular. The Book contains pictures from photographers like Alexander Petsavas, Chidera David Chukwujekwun and MeetDean, entries from music journalist Annabel Ross, Sally C, Jyoty, Tim Reaper, KG, Rebekah, Kikelomo, founder of the Black Artist Database, Niks and others.

Original Writing Snippet
I’ve decided to start a story over. And I also ended up doing a lot this evening. As a result of both those things, I didn’t get as far as I would have liked. But there’s always tomorrow!
This is from a story titled Without Expectation. It’s a romance where the main character is asexual. But he does feel drawn to his adopted daughter’s nanny. It’s a slow burn story, so I’m definitely getting a lot of experience writing that with See Right Through My Walls (which I promise to update soon-ish).
Now, on to the snippet! Percy Osborne and Jemima meeting Niamh O’Connor.
“Horses!” Jemima said excitedly from beside the window. The warmth of the afternoon sun was calming for a time.
Percy stood and watched as his sister’s carriage came to a stop outside. “Come along, Jemima. There is someone I want you to meet.” He gently took her hand and lifted her up onto her feet.
Outside, a young blonde woman was looking around happily at the surroundings. She turned her smile on Percy and held out her hand. “You must be Percy Osborne.”
Percy glanced down to Jemima, screwing her nose up at the sound of her voice. “Percy, I don’t like that.” She said loudly.
“Hush, Jemima.” Percy shook the young woman’s hand. “I am Percy Osborne. And this is Jemima Marshall.”
The woman stooped down in front of Jemima. She spoke softly, “My name is Niamh. I know my accent can be harsh the first time you hear it, but you get used to it after some time.”

15 for 15 Tag
Tagged by @minny-king :) This has been sitting in my drafts for days and I completely forgot to post it!
Rules: Answer 15 questions as either yourself or one of your characters, then tag 15 others
I’m doing this for Saoirse, MC from We Can’t Control the Universe!
1. What is your full name?
“Saoirse Niamh O’Connor.”
2. Are you named after anyone?
“Ha, hell no. Mam had a religious name and hated it, vowed to never name any of her kids after anyone. Instead, she just made us sound as Irish as physically possible!”
3. Do you have any siblings?
“Yeah, I guess. I’ve a brother, Caleb. Don’t keep in contact anymore, not since I left home.”
4.Do you have/want kids?
“No. Don’t like the little sods and never will. Besides, I travel too much anyway...”
5. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
“Guess.”
6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
“If they’re trying to pull a gun on me. If they don’t, I look at their clothes. Tells you a lot about them.”
7. What colour are your eyes?
“Dark blue, nothing special.”
8. Happy movie or scary movie?
“Happy! I love me a good musical! Movies are meant to be escapism, scary or sad movies don’t do that for me.”
9.Any special talents?
“I’m surprisingly good at chucking food into my mouth. I’ll get it like, 95% of the time.”
10. Where were you born?
“A town called Omagh, in County Tyrone. I’m from Northern Ireland or Ireland or whatever you want to call it, I honestly couldn’t care less. I don’t go back there very often. At least, not to that time.”
11. Do you have any pets?
“Yes! I have a husky puppy back at my apartment in Belfast. Did you know they let you keep pets pretty much anywhere after around 2750?”
12. What sports do you/have you played?
“Nothing much now, I go for runs if that counts. I played camogie in school and, not gonna lie, I was awesome at it.”
13. How tall are you?
“5’4”. Not tall but at least I’m not as much of a midget as Reina!”
14. Favourite subject in school?
“I guess maths? It was less shite than everything else and at least it had rules that were never broken. And you had very little writing to do.”
15. Dream job?
“Honestly? As much as I complain and say I’d rather do something peaceful, I’d get so bored but I’ve never really considered it. I wanted to work with animals when I was a teenager so I guess that.”
I’m tagging @agentorange-writes @jess---writes @writerlydays @elliswriting @fantasy-studiies @lemon-i-scream @piratequeenofpixies @tayluinwrites @radiowrites @lazytrashbarbarian @knightsofeclipse @usuallydecentwriter @fuyuuki513 @paulinawrites @adenhamcreations @bookish-actor @lemonayyyyyde

BIO
Her whole life, the last word anyone would have ever used to describe Kat Sullivan was shy. She was a precocious child and spent much of her free time reading books or tinkering with building toys. As she grew older, she continued to self-teach the topics she wasn’t learning in school. She went to university straight out of secondary school and earned a degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Trinity College in Dublin.
Once she moved onto her system studies at one of the premier institutes in Ireland, Kat split her attention between learning about her new Switch mark and working freelance jobs to keep her technical skills up to snuff. On the institute side of things, she met a woman named Niamh in one of her second semester classes, and they quickly hit it off. Niamh was the calm to balance Kat’s stormy personality, and she reined Kat in whenever her temper threatened to get her in trouble. They took things slow and claimed two years after meeting. Shortly after that, Kat took a shy but confident sub named Patrick under her wing, and he quickly became inseparable from them. Niamh eventually claimed him as well, and their family unit was complete.
About 4 months after Niamh claimed Patrick, when Kat was 28, she began working on a freelance job that would change all of their lives. Kat only had an inkling of what was going on as she worked, but the extent of what she was doing was lost on her until it was too late. Her work was used as part of a scheme to redirect tens of millions of euros from an oil company’s bank accounts to an offshore account that was then used to fund several charities that were unaware of the source of the funds. The person who had hired her was caught, and Kat was implicated in the theft. Due to the amount of money involved, she was facing upwards of two decades in jail. Niamh’s father was born in the US, which gave her dual citizenship, and Niamh, Kat, and Patrick decided together to flee to the States. The Irish government has chosen not to pursue her across borders, but they all know that Kat would be arrested the moment she stepped back onto Irish soil.
The trio set up a new life for themselves in a small town in Ohio. Kat took no more freelance jobs, none of them wanting to push their luck, and she went back to school for a Master’s degree in education. One day when in the local library, Patrick noticed a job posting at an institute on the other side of town, which he shared with Niamh and Kat. With Niamh’s blessing, Kat applied to the job, and she’s now looking forward to her first semester on a new career path. Little does she know, happenings in Ireland are soon going to call her Domme and co-sub back home, leaving her temporarily–and then permanently–alone in the US.
BIO QUESTIONS:
Describe your occupational journey and how you got to where you are.
I took a very roundabout path to end up teaching at an institute. I started in a different field entirely, but due to reasons, I found a sudden and abrupt need to change career paths. I’ve always enjoyed mentoring others, and I’ll never stop learning myself, so teaching seemed like a logical next step for me.
How would you describe yourself as a submissive?
I see submission as a part of my identity, but it’s hardly the most important part of it. I was marked a Switch at my institute, and I could have easily been happy claiming as a Domme. Niamh and I clicked in our roles, though, and the rest is history. I fully believe in our system and don’t have any issues with submitting to Niamh or while out and about in my daily life. I wouldn’t call myself a traditional submissive, though. Niamh loves my personality and allows me to be as outspoken and assertive as I feel like being, so long as I always remain respectful.
How do you feel about authority?
Authority is a necessary part of any functioning system, whether that’s the capital-S System or a workplace or a family unit. However, sometimes people with authority can abuse it, and that’s when there needs to be some sort of check in place to keep everyone safe and things running smoothly. I’m all in favor of authority when the people in charge are aware of their power and take measures not to abuse their position. I will always fight against abuses of power, whatever and wherever they may be.

Brassbridge is a big and buzzing town, but the people that have lived here for years know each other, care about each other even. And most of all talk about each other. There was a lot of talk when the Bianchi family opened their kontor decades ago. A wealthy family of merchants that had moved to the Norther Islands from one of the City States with a child they had adopted and another one on the way. They never talked much about their heritage, about their reason to leave their home. But they were here now, and soon they became a part of Brassbridge. Of the lively port and the ancient library as well as the dark alley ways and the whispered secrets. Finan is the younger of the two Bianchi children, born a year after his family arrived in the city he has none nothing but Brassbridge for his entire life. And it has always been enough. As a young boy he had a thirst for knowledge that soon could not be quenched by his mother’s stories or the books his father brought home. So Finan made a place for himself in the Biblioteca universale where he studied and grew surrounded by the knowledge of the world. He’s a librarian with heart and soul. But he is also loyal to his beloved sister and when Giana knocked on his door one night to gain access to the secrets hidden on dusty bookshelves he did not dare send her away. Finan is well aware of his sister’s ties to the guilds of night - some say he might make for a good thief himself - but he rather chooses to ask no questions about her dealings. His path is that towards the light, for now.
Skeleton Bio - The Archivist. Finan Bianchi, 31, he/him, Brassbridge, librarian. Changes to his motivation and alliances are UTP.
Alliances: Finan is loyal to his family and his town, he is a peaceful person and rather protects then fight. He might be convinced to pick a side if his sister does so first.

Irish Concertina Masters - The Legacy Of Noel Hill - McNeela Music
Tumblr media
There’s no denying that Noel Hill has become one of the most influential Irish concertina players in the world of traditional Irish music. His influence is far reaching and second only to the iconic Mrs. Crotty. The most important legacy that any musician can leave in their wake is a generation of younger musicians following in their footsteps. Noel Hill has most definitely achieved this. The virtuoso concertina player from Co. Clare has gained legendary status thanks to his musical prowess. Concertina players everywhere strive to emulate his iconic playing style. His influence on traditional Irish concertina playing today cannot be overstated. So who are the concertina players following in his footsteps? Keep reading and I’ll introduce you to some of the best concertina players on the scene today. These brilliant musicians are setting the scene alight with their innovative playing. From newcomers to unexpected names, these concertina players are well worth knowing. Their playing will delight and inspire, just as Noel Hill’s has before them. Contents [hide]Musical Heritage: Jack Talty The Rhythm of the Dance: Caitlín Nic GabhannThe Irish Concertina Ensemble Musical Exploration: Pádraig Rynne Dual Citizenship: Niamh Ní Charra The Banks of the Liffey: Sarah FlynnThe Housekeepers Following in their Footsteps Musical Heritage: Jack Talty One of the leading traditional Irish musicians of his generation, among a versatile new wave. – Toner Quinn, The Journal of MusicIt’s only right that Noel’s nephew himself would take the lead – a true concertina virtuoso, following proudly in his uncle’s footsteps.Jack Talty is a masterful concertina player from Lissycasey in Co. Clare. He began learning the concertina from his uncle, Noel Hill, at the age of ten. Immersed in the tradition from a young age and surrounded by a thriving traditional Irish music community, Jack thrived.Today he is one of the leading concertina players within the tradition: A true Jack of all trades, Talty is an accomplished arranger, composer, producer, researcher, sound engineer and teacher. A master of them all, it’s with traditional Irish concertina playing however that his heart truly lies.In 2011, Jack founded Raelach Records. As artistic director of the music label, he has produced many brilliant records including an exciting collaboration, Na Fir Bolg, with fellow concertina player Cormac Begley. While an entire album of concertina duets might seem like an unusual concept, it works! These two concertina players, both from esteemed musical families, add a new dimension to concertina playing. Their musicality shines through, as does their deep love and understanding of the tradition itself. The end result is magical: In 2016, Jack also released his debut solo concertina album, In Flow, to rave reviews, and rightly so.In Flow reflects the many years of dedication Talty has given to traditional music… and to developing a distinctive musical voice of his own within an approach that is passionately engaged with the music of his predecessors and contemporaries. – Toner Quinn, Journal of Music While Noel Hill’s influence is evident in Jack’s playing, it’s also clear that he is driven by his own passion for the music and his dedication to his craft. In the short video below, Jack speaks about why he plays music and offers some brilliant advice to those just starting out on their music journey: The Rhythm of the Dance: Caitlín Nic Gabhann No list of brilliant modern day concertina players would be complete with our very own Caitlín Nic Gabhann. Some of you might recognise Caitlín from our online concertina lesson series and as a regular guest blogger. Her vibrant concertina playing has undoubtedly earned her a place on this list.A three time All-Ireland champion on concertina, Caitlín is also an accomplished dancer who has toured the world with Riverdance. It’s this skill as a dancer that likely contributes to her characteristic rhythmic style of playing: Caitlín was born and raised in Co. Meath where she first learned music from her father, renowned fiddle player Antóin
Mac Gabhann. She learned her dancing from her mother, Bernie, who was herself immersed in the set dancing style of Co. Clare. In 2012, Caitlín released her debut album which was labelled the ‘top Irish traditional album of 2012’ by The Wall Street Journal. It’s not hard to understand why! This vibrant album is full of life from the very first track: There’s an exciting energy to Caitlín’s playing that is evident throughout the album, even on the slower, sweeter tracks. Have a listen to Caitlín’s own composition, Sunday’s Well to hear for yourself: The Irish Concertina EnsembleCaitlín has many exciting musical collaborations under her belt including several albums with her husband, award-winning fiddle player, Ciarán Ó Maonaigh. One of her most interesting projects however is an innovative concertina quintet – the Irish Concertina Ensemble. If you thought a concertina duet was unexpected, a concertina quintet is definitely unprecedented in Irish music. Some might despair at the thought, but it’s a concertina player’s dream: The Irish Concertina Ensemble, or ICE, is made up of five world renowned leading exponents of the Anglo Concertina – Mícheál Ó Raghallaigh, Pádraig Rynne, Tim Collins, Edel Fox, and Caitlín Nic Gabhann. The quintet released their debut album in 2015. Zero features a mix of traditional Irish tunes and newly composed repertoire, all arranged for five concertinas. It definitely succeeds in pushing the boundaries of traditional Irish concertina playing. It’s certainly an experience to hear these tunes in the hands of not one, but five master concertina players: Musical Exploration: Pádraig Rynne Another Co. Clare native, Pádraig Rynne is an exciting and innovative concertina player renowned for his experimental sound: Pádraig has collaborated with some of the greatest traditional Irish musicians out there – Donal Lunny, John McSherry, Sylvain Barou – the list is endless, both as a producer and as a member of a number of exciting ensembles. His musical explorations increasingly lead him down a path that is less and less traditional at every turn. This isn’t a criticism by any means. A little creativity never hurt anyone! Pádraig’s music would definitely struggle to be defined as ‘traditional Irish music’ however. Pádraig’s music draws inspiration from a variety of genres and musical styles, particularly electronic. His passion and prowess for music technology is particularly evident on his solo albums. His continued experimentation leads to refreshing explorations of traditional repertoire: Whatever your opinion may be on his style of music, there’s no denying that Pádraig is a virtuoso concertina player who has succeeded in taking Irish concertina playing to new and exciting heights. His musicality is enviable. Don’t worry, his traditional roots are never too far away: Dual Citizenship: Niamh Ní Charra Niamh Ní might be an unexpected entry to this list for some. Niamh is best known for her years spent as the fiddle player with Riverdance. She’s also a master of the Irish concertina however. While touring the world with the iconic Irish dance show, she introduced audiences to her brilliant concertina playing and gained a well earned reputation as a virtuoso of both instruments: Niamh grew up in Killarney, immersed in the Sliabh Luachra music tradition. (Sliabh Luachra is both a mountainous region in the southwest of Ireland and an iconic, highly rhythmic playing style. Think polkas and slides played at breakneck speeds.)She began learning the fiddle at the age of four, and progressed to the concertina – sharing her love for music between the two. While Niamh’s concertina playing also draws on more modern influences, you can definitely hear that highly rhythmic Sliabh Luachra flavour to her playing: A multi-award winning multi-instrumentalist, Niamh has talent to burn. In 2014 she was awarded Female Musician of the Year in the Live Ireland Music Awards. Keen to display her prowess on both instruments, Niamh released her debut solo album From Both Sides in 2007.This album masterfully highlights her skill on both
instruments, and is bursting with beautiful, expressive playing, at which Niamh excels. Have a listen to this haunting rendition of Caoineadh Eoghan Rua – one of the best interpretations I’ve ever heard of this beautiful air: The Banks of the Liffey: Sarah Flynn So many prominent Irish concertina players hail from Co. Clare that you’d be forgiven for thinking we only give a concertina licence to those from the Banner County. Our next concertina player however, hails from North County Dublin, and believe me it’s a long long way from Clare to here.As the capital city of Ireland, Dublin has long been a melting pot of regional Irish music styles, producing high calibre musicians who draw on inspiration from across the country. Typically, most of these musicians end up looking west, or, in this case, southwest to Co. Clare.Sarah Flynn began playing the concertina at an early age under the tuition of Aoife O’Connor and none other than Noel Hill himself. With influences including Noel Hill and fiddle player Bobby Casey, it will come as no surprise that Sarah has a keen interest in concertina and fiddle music from County Clare.Despite the strong influence of such stylistic musicians, Sarah has succeeded in developing a unique and innovative style of concertina playing: The HousekeepersThough a noted solo performer, one of Sarah’s most exciting contributions to traditional Irish music comes in the form of a partnership with Dublin fiddle player, Doireann Glackin (granddaughter of the great Seán Ó Riada), The Housekeepers. The Housekeepers is more than just an album. It’s the culmination of an exciting research project that examines the repertoire of five female musicians from the 20th century and explores their role within the world of traditional music through a new lens. The tracks journey through various Irish regional styles including the West Clare, West Limerick, East Galway and Sliabh Luachra traditions. Most importantly however, they do so specifically from the perspective of female musicians and their contributions to the traditions. The combination of Sarah’s unique playing style and her retrospective creativity definitely makes her a young concertina player to watch.Following in their Footsteps If like these brilliant concertina players you’re feeling inspired to pick up a concertina and embark on your own musical journey, why not take a look at our Online Concertina Store and see what we have to offer? We have concertinas to suit all levels and abilities. There really is an instrument for everyone. We also have an exciting offer for any beginner concertina player out there. Tyler Toland and Katie McCabe goals start Euro qualifiers with a win
IRELAND have no coach — and Montenegro came and parked the bus.
But Tyler Toland and Katie McCabe, from the penalty spot, got the goals to get the Girls in Green motoring.
1
Katie McCabe celebrates her penalty for Ireland
A 2-0 win in Tallaght got Ireland’s European Championship qualification bid off to a winning start under interim boss Tom O’Connor.
The resignation of Colin Bell in late June put the team in limbo this summer ahead of a European campaign when there are high hopes of reaching the 2021 finals in England.
But if Bell’s departure hit the team, there was no sign of it last night as the only disappointment was that they did not wallop an ultra-negative Montenegro side.
Montenegro lost 9-0 to Ireland when they last made the visit to Tallaght.
PARK THE BUS
And they suffered a 10-0 defeat in their opening qualifier this time around against Germany on Saturday.
It was clear that their sole aim in Dublin last night was to keep the score down.
Mirko Maric’s team played a blanket defence that would make a conservative GAA manager blush, with his ten outfield players tightly stitched together on the edge of the Montenegrin area.
Naturally, it also resulted in a threadbare attack with Ireland goalkeeper Marie Hourihan having virtually nothing to do until a late shot from Sladjana Bulatovic that was straight at her.
But by then Ireland were two goals to the good and had three points in the bag.
They probably should have won by more but O’Connor said: “The objective was to win and a clean sheet.
“We probably thought they would open up and get a few goals, they were very dogged, very resilient.
“I’m not making any excuses. It was in the final third that our play let us down in relation to scoring more goals.”
DREAM START
The interim gaffer — who has applied for the role full time having been Bell’s assistant — saw his team get off to a dream start with Toland opening the scoring after just seven minutes.
Denise O’Sullivan found space outside the box and fed the Manchester City midfielder, who advanced before firing a low shot through a crowd and past goalkeeper Ivana Cabarkapa.
O’Connor added: “It was a good goal in Tyler. We were saying beforehand, if you don’t shoot, you don’t score.
“She has just signed for Man City. She’s only going to get better and better.”
Given Montenegro’s track record, more goals were expected for Ireland but as the night went on it proved rather frustrating.
Niamh Fahey was cruising through the game in front of the back four and starting attacks but the sheer number of opposing players back meant that most attacks came to nothing.
Claire O’Riordan headed one corner wide while skipper McCabe flashed a free-kick over before Louise Quinn had a shot cleared off the line.
Going in at half-time it would have been Montenegro who were the happier side — and they were losing and had showed absolutely no evidence that they could muster an attack, let alone a goal.
SPOT ON
Ireland did up the tempo after the break and it looked only a matter of time before the visitors would lay down their arms.
Instead, Darija Djukic lifted hers to block a McCabe shot on 69 minutes and referee Catarina Campos had no hesitation in pointing to the spot for the hand-ball.
McCabe stepped up herself and her shot was so accurate to the corner that Cabarkapa never moved.
From that moment on, there was no chance of a shock comeback.
Ireland could have added further goals. McCabe had a shot well saved by Cabarkapa, who then did well to block Rianna Jarrett’s follow-up.
Quinn had a header stopped before skipper McCabe turned a Heather Payne cross inches wide of the post late on.
So 2-0 it finished — not as big a win as it might have been but it was job done for Ireland, who are next in qualifying action at home to Ukraine next month.
They are already chasing Germany who have six points and a ridiculous goal difference of 18 after following up their rout of Montenegro with an 8-0 triumph in Ukraine.
