IVY TRIO X MALE! READER- INCORRECT QUOTES
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Newt: Can I be frank with you guys? Minho: Sure, but I don’t see how changing your name is gonna help. Thomas: Can I still be Thomas? Y/n: Shh, let Frank speak.
━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━
Newt: Do you love Minho? Thomas: Yeah, I do. Newt: y/n! I told you I knew it! You owe me 100 bucks! y/n: We all love Minho. You should've asked if they were IN love with them. Thomas: I thought that was implied. y/n: ... Newt: ... Thomas, looking straight at y/n: Congrats newt, you just won 100 bucks.
━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━
Newt, mother TM: *Screams* Y/n, Father TM: * Screams louder to assert dominance* Thomas, new to the glade: Should we do something?! Minho, observing his weekly soap opera: No, I want to see who wins this.
━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━
Newt: Where's Thomas? Y/n: Don't worry, I'll find him. Y/n, shouting: Minho sucks! Thomas, distantly: Minho is the best person ever! Fuck you! Y/n: Found him.
━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━
Newt, giving Thomas a tour of the glade: What do you want then? Thomas, looking at Minho sleeping in Y/n's lap: Er… something runner-related. Newt, trying not to laugh: What department is this? Thomas, blushing: Sorry? Newt: Well, if it's work-related you'd obviously know what department this is. What department is this? Thomas: * looks at Minho and Y/n* Some sort of homosexual department?
━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━
Newt: Y/n, I'm sad. Y/n: *Holds out arms for a hug* It's going to be okay. Thomas: Minho, I'm sad. Minho, nodding: mood.
━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━
Minho: What's it like being tall? Y/n: Is it nice? Thomas: Can you reach comfortably for the cupboards? Newt: We live in constant fear of the short ones who, in my experience, will climb four chairs, two boxes, a small coffee table, and six oddly placed stools to get what they want.
━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━
Newt: On the count of three, what's your favourite cake? One, two, three- Newt and Y/n, in unison: Chocolate cake peanut butter frosting with chocolate chunks! Thomas: Our turn, Minho! One, two, three- vanilla! Minho, deadpan: I've never had cake, what is cake.
━━━━━━━━━▼━━━━━━━━━
Newt:, concerned bf You guys worried about Y/n? Thomas, the child TM: Totally! Minho, mean-ass mfer who's secretly crying: Yeah, he called me in the middle of the night and just yelled, "What do I do, what do I do, what do I do, what do I do?" Newt: And what'd you say? Minho: "I dunno, I dunno, I dunno, I dunno." Thomas: Newt: He's lucky to have you as a friend.

Care for me
Newt X Reader
→ He/him pronouns
→ Movie based
Synopsis: reader is a medjack and Newt comes regularly in the hut for one reason or another. Reader is oblivious and Minho tries to open his eyes.
Warnings: blood, alcohol
A/N: english is not my first language, I may not know the whole gladers' slang, please let me know if I made any mistake
Tumblr media
Most of the gladers were grouped around the box, and your friend Clint was urging you to join them. "Come on Y/n! Or the box will arrive before us!" You rolled your eyes, "I know, I'm coming." You finished cleaning up the blood (or at least what was possible to clean) of the last injured you had to take care of, and joined the other medjack outside the hut. Jeff was already waiting for you both, his hands in his pockets, talking with Newt.
"We were waiting for you!" your fellow medjack said. "What took you so long?" Newt asked. "You should try cleaning blood with only water and soap," you answered, "why aren't you already at the box?" The two medjacks were already distancing you, they seemed pretty excited for the box. You needed new medical supplies, you wished that the people sending the box would give you an actual doctor one day, but you knew it wasn't gonna happen. "No reason," he said, "the alarm didn't ring yet, they're all a bit early." You chuckle, "who can blame them? It's not like we get much entertainment here." You and Newt laugh lightly and immediately stop when the alarm rings. It feels like it's wrecking your ears, but you're kind of used to it by now. The gears on the side of the box start and their metallic sounds almost cover the alarm until it goes off. When the box finally opens, you jump in to go and check the greenie. Gally follows to start conveying the supplies sent in the box to the Glade.
The new boy was curled up against a few boxes that formed a corner, all shaky and visibly younger than every other glader. "Hey greenie, I'm Y/n. I'll check if you're injured, just in case. Does it hurt anywhere?" The boy looks up to you, and you notice that he's crying, but he shakes his head. You help him getting on his feet and still check for any possible injuries. "Looks like you're not hurt anywhere," you said, smiling to the boy, "do you remember your name? Or how old you are?" He shakes his head again. "N-No..." You can tell he is trying not to cry even if tears are still running down his cheeks. "C'mon lil' guy, let's get you up there," you said.
The greenie was still crying after a few hours. You could only understand, but even you had to admit that you were getting tired of hearing his sobs in the distance. You never really understood why all the greenies were thrown in jail as soon as they got out of the box, but you weren't the chief and couldn't say anything. It was Alby's job. You sighed. "Is something wrong?" a familiar voice asked from behind.
You jumped slightly and faced Newt. "No, but if you're here I guess I can return the question." The blonde chuckled and looked down on his hand. "Yeah, I uh, I accidentally cut my finger. It didn't fell off, but it's still bleeding." You walk towards him and takes his hand in yours, taking off the cloth that was preventing the wound to bleed out. "Oh, well, it's not that bad but you still need some care," you put the cloth back in place and gestured towards a bench in the room, "sit down." Newt obeyed and you opened the box you received, taking a bottle of alcohol and a clean cloth. You sat in front of your friend and uncovered his wound, putting the bloody cloth away.
His wound wasn't that deep and there was no ripped skin, the cut was oddly clean. A machete hit would cause much more damage, but it was more serious than a scratch. "How did it happen?" you ask while pouring some alcohol on the cloth. "Uh, dumb mistake, I held my machete the wrong way." You put the cloth on his wound and he immediately sucks air between his teeth. That doesn't sound like something Newt would do, and you can't help but thinking he's lying. However, you just continue to clean his wound and don't say anything. He's been visiting the medjack's hut a lot these past few months, for all kind of reasons: small injuries, questions (dumb ones most of the time), just to talk when he had nothing to do, sometimes he even hid from Alby for some reason. Maybe he was getting sick of Newt getting hurt a lot and wanted to lecture him, which was why the blonde was hiding.
"You should be more careful," you said with a little smile as you finished tying a bandage around his finger. "Y-Yeah, I will." You look at him raising an eyebrow. It wasn't the first time you told him to be careful and he promised every time, you weren't a fool and at this point you were starting to think ha was doing it purpose. But that was weird, why would he get hurt on purpose? "And done," you said, "all clean." "Thanks," Newt said, and you looked inti each other's eyes before he got up and walked to the exit, "I'll see you at the bonfire." "Yeah." You smile at each other and he exited the hut, greeting Minho when he got out. You joined the runner outside and you noticed that the greenie had stopped crying, or at least you couldn't hear him anymore.
"You do realise he's not dumb enough to get hurt like that, right?" Minho said, standing beside the hut's door. "I know," you said, your arms crossed on your chest, "he's acting weird." Minho stopped beside you and began stretching. "I don't think it's weird," he said and you turned your head, "I think he's doing it on purpose." You frowned. "Why would he get hurt on purpose? That's messed up." Minho stopped stretching and placed his hands on his harness. "Messed up? Nah, I wouldn't say that. But that's dumb for sure." You stayed silent, watching Newt guiding the greenie around the Glade with no expression on your face. "You really don't know why he does that?" You turn to Minho who looks at you with raised eyebrows. "No..?" you say, "but if you know, please tell me." He rolled his eyes and walked away with a sigh. "Minho! I'm not kidding! Tell me!" But he ignored you and continued to walk. You were about to go after him but you heard someone yelling 'medjack' and you had to go do your job.
꧁꧂
"So, are you decided to tell me?" you said, sitting down beside Minho. It was almost night and the bonfire was about to start, everyone was gathering in the center of the Glade. The keeper had to think a few seconds to know what you were talking about. "No, ask him yourself," he answers with a smirk. "But I have no proof that he's hurting himself on purpose!" The keeper looked at you, almost shocked. "Yes you do! He's not a shuckin' idiot!" he said, whispering loudly to yell at you but in a way no one could hear, "holding his machete upside down? Really?" You sighed, "just tell me then!" Minho grunted and massaged his temples.
"How can you be so oblivious Y/n? Just think! Why would he find any dumb excuse to go to the medjack's hut?" He looked at your dumbfounded expression for a moment, "I bet you didn't realise you're the only one taking care of him when he gets hurt." You slowly shook your head, "it's because... I'm his best friend, right?" The runner let out a loud exasperated sigh, "okay, you're kidding me, right?" You blinked. The possibility that your crush on Newt being reciprocal never occurred to you, mainly because there was not really any time for romance in the Glade, especially for the second in command. "I'm just saying," Minho continued, "you should just ask him yourself. I'm not some kind of cupid."
"Where is he?" you asked, getting up. You were determined to find him and had built some courage inside you, though you didn't know where it cale from. Minho shrugged, and you decided to look for Newt by yourself. You walked around the bonfire, asking a few gladers if they saw him, but he was nowhere to be found. But at least you were able to talk to the greenie, who was named Chuck. He remembered his name after some hours, which was pretty quick compared to most gladers. Night had fallen by now, and you still haven't found Newt, but since the bonfire would start at any moment now you thought you would see him in a few minutes. You took a glass of the drink concocted by Gally and took a sip, talking with a few gladers and waiting for the fire to be lit up, still asking if anyone had seen the second in command.
You were sitting alone, a bit far from the bonfire and your mind a bit foggy from the alcohol. "I heard you were looking for me earlier?" You turned your head so fast you could have sworn your neck cracked a bit. "Oh hey, yeah I... I was, indeed." Newt sat beside you in the grass. "So... Why?" Suddenly, having him beside you like that made all the courage you had built up vanish. "Uh, h-how's your finger?" The blonde looked down at his bandage, "good, good, it's... healing," he took a sip of his drink, avoiding your gaze. You frowned, taking a sip too and looking around. You saw Minho in the distance who was giving you insistent looks and pointing Newt. "Hum... I was wondering..." you began as you slowly turned your head to the boy, directly meeting his eyes, "how did you cut your finger, really?" The blonde looked away and took another sip of his drink, "I told you, I held my knife upside down." You raised an eyebrow, "oh really? You told me it was your machete earlier."
Newt stayed silent. "I'm just worried Newt, y-you seem to injure yourself a lot, and... I mean, for example, the cut on your finger is too clean, it doesn't look like an accident..." you weren't sure of where you were going with this, it seemed weird and you kind of hoped he would think the alcohol made you talk nonsense. But how could you ask something like that, like Minho said you should. "Are you okay...?" You finally asked. Newt finished his glass in one time before talking. "I'm okay, I just... I wanted to see you more often, and uh... I've just been less careful, these really were just accidents but I thought that I couldn't just take your time for no reason, you're a medjack. So I don't mind getting hurt. Besides..." You raised your eyebrows at him. Minho was wrong, he wasn't hurting himself on purpose, which was a big relief. And he just admitted that he wanted to see you more often. Newt cleared his throat. "Besides," he continued, "I... I like it when you take care of me..."
You were thankful that it was night and the fire wasn't bright enough to show your pink cheeks. "I know it's- Uh, dumb to do that but... I didn't know what else to do, I mean..." he paused to sigh, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you worry." He looked at you and you could feel your face heating up more and more. "Why did you want to s-see me more often?" Newt chuckled, "heh, I thought you would have understood." You shook your head, "I-I don't want to jump into conclusions..."
"I like you, Y/n. I like you a lot," he said, giggling nervously. You grinned sheepishly and started playing with your glass in your hands, "I like you too, Newt," you said softly, hesitantly looking at him. A wide smile appeared on his face and you moved closer to him. Your shoulder against his, you looked at each others with little smiles. "Can I kiss you?" He asked, his gaze going from your eyes to your lips repeatedly. You nodded and he approached you slowly, tilting his head to the side. His soft lips finally kissed yours, and it felt like it lit up a fire inside you. You kissed him back, your hand grabbing his sleeve and his hand on the back of your neck. When he pulled away, you felt the urge to kiss him again fiercely, but you held it back. You abandon his sleeve to put your hand on his, and smiled at him again. "But seriously, be more careful at your job, I hate seeing you hurt," you say. "Okay, I promise," he answers, "but you'll still take care of me, right..?" You giggle, "of course I will."

Newt Scamander Headcanons (meeting him and falling in love, Male!Hogwarts! student edition)
So I finally had an idea and time to write, here's some headcanons I managed to scrounge together before the lack of motivation steals my ideas. This is a masc-aligned reader but no specific pronouns are used, I hope you all enjoy this!
CIS Women and Female Aligned people, please DNI, this story and all of my others are for non-binary, masculine-aligned, and male readers!
God, he’s adorable
Legit the sweetest person ever
And he absolutely loves you
He is quite utterly smitten with you
(For the sake of plot-)
He met you at Hogwarts and has damn near been hooked since day one
During the sorting ceremony, hearing his name you couldn’t help but giggle
I mean, Newt is not exactly a common name, nor is the last name Scamander
But it was a rather respected name at Hogwarts given his older brother’s record as a prefect
For the entirety of your first year, you two were in every class together
Not just potions or beasts together
Every
Single
Class
Potions, beasts, defense against the dark arts, flying, magic history, herbology, charms, astronomy, and even transfiguration together
He would always pay the most attention in beasts and defense against the dark arts
While you could only pay attention to him
He always got so excited during beasts when the professor would pull out a new creature for everyone to meet and learn to take care of
And he was very good with them that the professor often gave extra points to Hufflepuff because they liked Newt so much
You were okay with beasts, nowhere as good as Newt but good enough for straight A’s in the class
Growing up together it was almost inevitable that you two fell for one another
Spending every class together in your first year, then more time outside of classes the next several
As much as he wanted to, he couldn’t get the courage to ask you out
Any time he’d try he’d just get too nervous and start glancing at his feet and the walls before brushing it off
You of course were not going to give up on getting this man
Any time you had the opportunity, you’d flirt with him
It was always adorable how red his cheeks and ears would go when he’d realize what you were saying
Sometime in your 6th year there, you managed to get him to walk with you to the lake
Precisely one of the old Willows near it
“Newt, are you alright? You look a bit red in the face”
“Oh, um, yes I’m fine, just a bit cold out today, and I forgot my scarf in the dormitory”
“Here, have mine, you clearly need it more than I do”
He didn’t even get a chance to protest before you wrapped it around his neck and made sure it was snug
“There we go, nice and warm”
He ducked his head into the scarf to “hide” his blush, although he did a poor job of it
“Thanks…why did you ask me to join you at the lake, it’s far too cold to go swimming”
Standing beside the tree you took a deep breath
“Well, I…I wanted to ask you something Newt”
He nodded his head and hummed in acknowledgment
“We’ve known each other since our first year, and you’ve always been a wonderful friend to me, but, I have realized that I like you more than just a friend… and I was wondering if you maybe wanted to be my boyfriend..”
He stood there wide-eyed and shocked, he never expected you to reciprocate his feelings, let alone confess first
However, his reaction made you start to think he didn’t like you back and you immediately began to back-peddle the conversation
“Well of course you don’t have to say yes and if you’re uncomfortable knowing that and being friends with a queer like me you can leave and never look back, only makes sen-”
He cut you off before you could continue rambling by pulling your face to his and kissing you
Now it was your turn to be shocked
Unsure of what to do, New pulled back and started to pull away from you, worried he went too far
Only to get pulled back in seconds when you processed what was going on, kissing him back and much better this time
From that day forward, you two somehow became even more inseparable
I’m sure Theseus was tired of hearing about how much Newt loved you and missed you by the end of the summer between your 6th and 7th year
Good thing that he didn’t have to go back and deal with it all in person
Some of those Hufflepuff students have seen much more than they bargained for

I have never made a request before because I’m usually happy to browse, but seeing that Newt from Maze Runner is on your character list (if you no longer write for him that’s fine) and there’s not a lot of works with newtxreader let alone a male reader I’d love it if you could write something about Newt getting jealous when Thomas comes up in the box and asks about the reader. Please don’t feel pressured either way what I think you’re doing is amazing since there’s not enough male reader representation out there. All the love to you ❤️
Jealousy
FEM DNI, I SWEAR YOU WILL BE BLOCKED
Newt(TMR) x Male Reader
Word Count: 1.226k
Tw: Jealousy, mentions of slight possessiveness, oblivious to flirting, hasn't been edited by my mod, and maybe out of character Newt?
A/n: Hello, I'm very sorry it took me this long to fulfil your request! You are incredibly sweet! Thank You so much! I'm truly grateful that you have put in a request, and once again, I'm truly sorry it took me this long. I had so much fun writing this, and it has honestly been one of the pieces I've loved writing the most, so thank you for that. I write for any character on my character list, and more off it, I love Newt so much, so this made me incredibly happy for someone to ask! And also all the love to you, you seem like a genuinely sweet person and thank you once again for delighting me with this and putting in a request, especially such a sweet one!
Tumblr media
Newt had been guiding the new boy who had come up in the box; he was tall with dark hair and deep brown eyes the male had clearly still been in a confused stupor as he followed the other around the glaze, his adrenaline pumping as he was constantly looking and asking questions to the blonde who happily answered them. However, as soon as the two males passed in front of the med-jack hut, which was several yards away, Thomas stopped in his tracks, looking at the “porch” of the building, which was more or less a poorly branched mat that had a canopy shading it. On the porch, there sat one of the other gladers on a chair while a (h/c) haired male with stunning (e/c) eyes peered down compassionately toward the glader in the chair as his (s/c) hands daintily wrapped the other male's upper arm with bandages tying a small bow to ensure the wrappings stayed in place before giving the other a smile and sending him on his way. Newt's gaze softened, seeing the (h/c) haired male. Thomas was staring curiously towards the same male.
“ Who’s that?” Thomas finally spoke up, snapping Newt out of his lovestruck trance.
“ Oh that's (Y/n) he's the keeper of the med-jacks.” Newt said his gaze never left from the said male as his chest filled with pride at his lover’s accomplishments.
“ So he takes care of the injured…?” Thomas' voice trailed off questioningly as the blonde turned to look at Thomas, confused at the obviousness of the statement.
“ Yes…” Newt responded, trailing off, his eyes hardened, looking suspiciously at the other.
“ So if I got injured, he would take care of me?” The dark-haired male said with a subtle hint of excitement in his voice, only making Newt’s eyes squint in suspicion more.
“ In theory, yes.” The blonde responded carefully as he felt a small seed of jealousy buried in his stomach. He tried to brush it off as maybe only jealousy.
“ Is he in a relationship with anyone?” Thomas asked curiously, rubbing the back of his neck and looking back towards the (h/c) haired male once again. The seed that had been planted in Newt’s started to grow as he could feel the jealousy grow, he began to glare at the other, about to mention his relation with (Y/n), only for Minho to come over.
“ Hey, Newt! I just need to talk with the greenie for a little bit. See you later!” Minho said, dragging Thomas away before Newt could state anything more. Newt turned towards the (h/c) haired male in the distance, ready to go to talk to him, only to have Alby call for him, dragging his attention away and requiring his assistance. Newt started to walk away, his one leg causing a small limp, before looking over his shoulder one last time and seeing his lover tell some of the other gladers to bring in the new supplies.
Newt had been occupied by Alby all day, trying to help around the glaze and stop some of the boys (mostly Gally and his group) from doing something stupid. Before long, the sky turned dark, and many fires were being started to light the glaze. Newt began to go once again toward the med-jack hut, but he stopped mid-step when he saw Thomas and (Y/n). Thomas was speaking happily with the (h/c) haired male said, the male was laughing at whatever Thomas was saying. Thomas had a noticeable blush that was even obvious from where Newt was standing. The blonde was in disbelief how could anyone like someone after meeting them once again, he didn’t really have a say, after all, he was the same with (Y/n). Newt’s stomach twisted with jealousy as he started to make his way towards the pair, his fist slightly clenched and unclenched.
“ Newt!” (Y/n) called out with a wide smile on his face turning around to see the blonde. Thomas turned towards the blonde, waving his hand slightly but retracting as he saw Newt's glare directly aimed at him, but it softened when he looked at the (h/c) haired male. Newt, as quickly as he could, made his way over to the pair.
“ Hey-“ Thomas started but retracted as Newt glared daggers into him, the blonde was quick to embrace (Y/n), his arms snaking around the other male's waist as he stepped behind him, leaning to rest his head on the (h/c) haired males shoulder turning to kiss him on the jaw. (Y/n) chuckled at the uncharacteristic behaviour of the other, turning his head slightly to look at Newt but quickly looking back at Thomas, who was just standing there awkwardly, realizing his errors over the course of the day. Newt, unhappy with the lack of attention, started peppering kisses on his lover's neck and jaw. The receiving of the actions was slightly confused but gladly accepted the affection.
“ Oh, so you…are together?” Thomas said with a hint of disappointment in his voice, but it was very subtle that only Newt could detect. Newt glared at Thomas while the (h/c) haired male, oblivious to the advances and silent war Newt was raging, smiled and nodded.
“ Yup, we’ve been together from the time I came up in the box”, (Y/n) responded happily, nodding his head towards the box as Newt's grasp got slightly tighter.
“ Yes, we have been together for a very very long time and plan to be together for a long time as well,” Newt said with a ghost of a smirk on his face. The insinuation, still after all this time, had made (Y/n) feel flustered and butterflies rise in his stomach despite the fact that they had already talked about it numerous times and agreed upon it. Thomas, taking the hint, nervously rubbed the back of his neck once again before mumbling that he needed to go discuss something with Minho and ran off.  (Y/n) now turned towards the uncharacteristically clingy blonde.
“Now, Newty,” The (h/c) haired male said affectionately but crossed his arms, giving Newt a really look, “ what was that for?”
Newt only pouted slightly and looked down in slight embarrassment and shame.
“ We’re you perhaps jealous…?” (Y/n) said, chuckling a little bit at the other's reaction. Newt only looked down more, burying his head into the other shoulder further. (Y/n) gave the other a quick peck on the head, causing the blonde's head to shoot up and look at the other.
“ Oh Newt, you don’t have to be jealous, you know I only have eyes for you and you alone ever since I got to this place.” (Y/n) said sweetly with a smile that could melt the coldest winters.
“I know, love, I'm sorry I just… couldn’t help it.” Newt said, ashamed and embarrassed with his overly protective behaviour displayed earlier.
“ Hey, you don’t have to be sorry I just wanted to make sure you know I love you.” The other responded back, hugging their arms around Newts, whose were secured tightly around his waist.
“ I know I love you too, love,” Newt responded back, smiling at the other, who smiled back. The couple stood there in amicable silence, embracing one another and staring at the stars.

ayo get I get a mfin uuhh #1 from the Christmas prompts with my favorite guy Newt please 👉👈
Tumblr media
Newt x Reader
Note: This is from the Holiday prompt list! Thanks for the request! Going with my idea of Everyone getting out of the maze and the world being normal outside! Also sorry it’s so short! Figured a cute little blurb would do!
1: "So, you've never kissed under mistletoe?" "Actually, I've never been kissed at all."
Tumblr media
The holiday season was in full swing and Y/n was holding his boyfriend, Newt, close as they walked down the street of the holiday fair.
This was the first year outside of the maze for Newt and everything about the outside world was alien to him. The brain swipe was removed and he slowly got his memory back but sadly he couldn't remember his family; so Y/n was his only family now.
Y/n looked over at Newt as his eyes lit up watching the lights above them "It's so pretty!" He smiled as love filled his heart watching Newt reach above himself to run his fingers over the lights.
Now, Y/n would never fully understand what Newt went through inside the maze. He remembers when the news was released that in the middle of no where a huge cement maze filled with boys was found; he was shocked.
His shock and horror grew after learning of the things W.I.C.K.E.D did to these poor men. Y/n joined the counsel to make sure that those monsters paid for what they did and that is how he met Newt roughly 4 months ago.
"Love?" Blinking quickly, Y/n looked away from Newt as a deep blush spread across his face "y-yeah?" The embarassment of being caught staring at his boyfriend almost being too much.
"You alright? You're spacing out," The concern in Newt's eyes made Y/n's heart swell.
"Yeah!" Looking around quickly to distract Newt, Y/n spotted mistltoe.
"Look! Mistltoe!" Newt turned his head looking up at the berries and sprigs "Huh?"
Y/n grabbed Newt's hand and drug him towards the hanging decoration.
"Mistltoe! You bring someone you like under it to give them a kiss! It's tradition!" Newt looked confused before looking back up at the hanging decoration.
"I've...never heard of that," Y/n frowned.
"So, you've never kissed under mistltoe before?"
"Actually, I've never been kissed at all." Newt shrugged, his face growing redder in the cold weather.
Smirking and pulling Newt close, Y/n gripped his face gently "I can change that," he said confidently as he waited to see Newt's reaction. Newt became flustered and started stuttering over his words trying to get something, anything, out.
Giving up Newt just nods his head dumbly as he looked awestruck up at Y/n. Grinning softly, Y/n brought Newt closer until their lips touched softly; Newt froze unsure of what to do.
Sensing this, Y/n took the lead and guided Newt's hands around his neck to pull him closer.
Fireworks seemed to go off as the new couple shared this romantic kiss in the snow under the christmas lights; figurativly and literally.
Scaring both men, they pulled away to watch in awe as the lights lit up the sky. Y/n moving to stand behind Newt and cover his ears; loud noises like this always triggered a fight or flight for the poor Brit.
Pulling Newt away so a panic attack doesn't consume him, Y/n grinned "Hot chocolate?" Once again Newt's face scrunched into a look of confusion.
"Hot chocolate?" Y/n rolled his eyes playfully as he walked up to a food truck saying "We have a LOT of stuff to learn,"

Tumblr media
Word count: 2432
Paring: Nozel x Fae Male Reader
Warnings: ummmm my shitty knowledge of fae and probably inaccurate descriptions of how things work with them, also possible ooc Nozel
A/n: Hello, thank you so much for requesting. I truly enjoy writing and knowing that someone wants to read what I write makes it so much easier to write something. Also this was specifically really fun to right. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this and as always remember to hydrate or diedrate.
Wondering the forests of the Clover Kingdom was a regular part of Y/n’s week. Enjoying the relaxing sounds of nature and helping small animals find food. It’s what he enjoyed doing most and it gave him a chance to escape from the pressures of being the prince of the Fae. Y/n also enjoyed venturing into the castle town and mingling with the humans. Learning about their daily lives and workings of their culture. If he had to pick he’d probably say he was most intrigued by the Magic Knights, a group of powerful mages working to protect the Kingdom.
After a few weeks of talking with random Knights and citizen’s Y/n wanted to see the magic of one of the fabled Grand Magic Knights or as he learned they were mostly called Squad Captains. Try as he might he couldn’t get any of the lower ranking Knights he spoke with to take him to their headquarters to meet with any of the Captains so he settled for hoping to stumble across one while out exploring the Kingdom. And to his luck on one of his many trips into the forest he heard a sound distinctly not that of nature.
A loud shout could be heard followed by the sounds of something hitting a tree. Moving slowly and quietly to get a look at the person without alerting them of his presence. Y/n eventually reached the edge of a small clearing and ducked behind one of the trees. At the opposite side of the clearing stood a man with Silver hair wearing what looked like a Magic knight’s robe but fancier, Y/n could also see that the man’s grimoire was raised and had silverish shine to it. Curious about what was happening, he stayed quiet and moved to climb the tree hoping to get a better view of the Magic Knight as he trained.
Y/n watched as the mage struck a tree with silver fluid like magic, he could barely hear the man call it Mercury magic. One of the things Y/n loved most was seeing new magics, most faes had magic that had to do with plants, water or rocks, while humans had developed new and intriguing magics like this fluid metal magic he was watching. Too caught up in his thoughts he failed to notice one of the branches he was holding had bent enough to crack right as the forest had gone silent.
Hearing the branch snap, Y/n held his breath and backed close to the body of the tree. He wasn’t afraid of the mage, more he was embarrassed at possibly having been found watching him train. Well that or his breath was stolen from the sight of bright purple eyes looking in his direction, though all they could see was the thick forest on the edge of the clearing and not the fae that had snapped a branch. The tense silence lasted only a moment before a noise was heard from the Knights robe. Y/n watched as the Knight pulled out a device and spoke into it, before summoning a large amount of his mercury magic to form a large eagle and fly out of the forest.
Letting out the breath he had been holding Y/n decided he needed to know who that mage was where he could find him again. And so he headed into the capital and asked about the Magic Knight with Silver hair and magic. He quickly learned that the mage he had found training was none other than Captain of the Silver Eagles, Nozel Silva. Before learning that the mage was a captain Y/n had been planning to find and talk to him, but after learning that the mage was not only a captain but part of the human royal family, Y/n decided to settle for watching from afar.
Y/n took the time to find the headquarters of the Silver Eagles squad and which window belonged to the Silver haired captain before he set to leaving the handsome mage gifts. Every few days or so he would leave a new trinket he had found that made him think of the mage. Things like an amethyst carved to look like a leaf on a silver chain, the leaf was a representation of Y/n himself while the gemstone reminded him of the purple eyes that stole his breath. He even left a small silver eagle on the window sill as he thought it was a sweet little nod to the mages magic.
P.o.V Switch to Nozel Plus mini timeskip
It had been happening for a few months now, whenever Nozel would enter his office at the Silver eagles Headquarters he would find different trinkets just on his windowsill with no explanation on how it got there. He had tried asking many of his squad members to see if one of them had been leaving the items but they all just looked confused and made some snide comment before walking away from the Royal. Solid and Nebra were no different, making jokes about how their brother has a secret admirer and poking fun.
Even though the gifts were a surprise at first they became a part of his routine and Nozel found himself looking forward to what his mysterious visitor had left him this time. While he knew nothing of the gifter he guessed that whoever it was may have some connection to nature as many of the trinkets held imagery of plants or rocks, such as a gemstone carved to look like a leaf attached to a silver chain. Nozel also figured whoever they were, they were familiar with his magic as he once found a small silver eagle statue.
While he loved the gifts and looked forward to them, he wished to know who was leaving him gifts so he could thank them for their kindness. Don’t get him wrong he had left notes on the windowsill hoping whoever it was would see and respond or come forward but each note was left unanswered but accompanied by another gift.
After a stressful week of dealing with Captain meetings, and his siblings nonstop jokes about the woman leaving him gifts, Nozel decided to take a walk in the forest near the capital. He had recently decided there was something super relaxing about the sound of wind flowing through the trees and animals moving about their lives without a worry. Now, Nozel prides himself on being able to sense mana but it seems even he can be surprised.
Walking into the same clearing he had been training in a few months prior, Nozel did not expect to see a man about his age sitting with a few animals in his lap while seemingly having a conversation with them. Not wanting to deal with what he assumed was a crazy person, the royal turned to walk the other direction. Only he failed to see the branch at his feet that snapped with a crack that rivaled a building collapsing, alerting the stranger to his presence.
Deciding he had been caught the royal spoke to dismiss himself without being rude, though he was normally brash, he felt the need to be kind to this person. “I’m sorry to disturb you, I was just out for a stroll. I’ll leave you to do what you were doing.” With that Nozel started to turn away ready to leave.
P.o.V back to Y/n
Being startled by the animals in the clearing scampering off at the sound of a branch snapping, Y/n turned to the source of the noise. For a second time in this little clearing he had his breath ripped from his chest as he met amethyst eyes. Not registering that the man had tried to excuse himself Y/n decided to finally take the next step. “Would you like to join me?” The words left both the fae and the royal slightly confused. The fae was confused because why would Nozel just agree to sit in a clearing with some guy he just found here, and the royal was confused because what was this stranger asking him to do.
The Silver haired man stopped in his tracks and thought for a moment, his logical side said to just keep walking and pretend nothing happened but something he couldn’t quite put a finger on was telling him that this stranger was important to him in some way. Before he could respond though the y/h/c man spoke again. “I just mean, you look like you could use someone to talk to and I’m good at listening and will be an unbiased audience.” The Royal sighed before deciding that it wouldn’t hurt to talk with the stranger, after all he didn’t need to give deep detail and he likely wouldn’t see him again. With a flick of his robes Nozel moved to sit near the stranger.
“I suppose you are right, I could use someone to talk to.” Nozel spoke, letting his guard down even though he had no clue why this person made him feel so calm.
Y/n smiled, feeling happy to have finally started speaking to the man he had been admiring for the past few months. “I’m Y/n by the way, you don’t have to share your name if you don’t wish to. I just think it would be easier if you knew who you were speaking with.”He introduced trying to make the Mercury mag as comfortable as possible.
Nozel nodded before explaining how he was feeling slightly overwhelmed with his siblings teasing and the added pressure of his youngest sibling getting her grimoire soon. He spoke of how he didn’t want her to join the magic knights to keep her safe but also didn’t want to keep being a complete dick and make her feel excluded anymore. He was unsure of why he was being so open, he was just glad he could get all of this off his chest.
Y/n just listened to Nozel talk about his current struggles, how he wished to have been stronger in order to not have pushed Noelle away or have been able to stop Solid and Nebra’s bullying of their sister. While Nozel couldn’t give all the details he spoke of his fears and worries. After a few what felt like hours of opening up that had only been about twenty minutes, Nozel paused.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know why I’m telling you all of this. The main reason I came out here was to get away from my siblings teasing over a secret admirer I have, and now I’m telling a stranger some of my deepest worries.” Nozel stated, his voice portraying that he was perplexed.
The fae next to him chuckled slightly before smiling at him. “Sorry, I don’t mean to laugh, but it’s likely my fault. You see, I’ve been leaving the gifts for you and since you have been accepting them we have a strange sort of connection.” Y/n began to explain, earning a shocked look from Nozel. “It has to do with me being a fae, well prince of the fae but that’s not important. Anyway, by accepting my gifts, you opened your heart to me. It’s nothing bad, it just means that I can influence your feelings in little ways, such as making you feel comfortable with a stranger or relaxed enough to express your worries you would otherwise keep to yourself.”
“So you’re controlling me because I kept a necklace you left on the windowsill.” Nozel voiced his assumption.
Shaking his head Y/n spoke again. “I’m not controlling anything, being around a fae that you’ve accepted gifts from relaxes you. It’s not something I chose to do, it’s just a side effect of my affection for you. Think of it like this, when I’m in the forest I feel relaxed and calm enough to speak to you, because I’ve accepted all the gifts the forest gives me, but when I’m in the city and see a trinket I think you’ll like I freeze up, and the only way i can confidently gift it to you is by placing it on your window sill.” Nozel was confused but he was starting to understand.
The influence of the gifts from the Fae was similar to what he had heard being with your true love feels like. He didn’t want to call it that but he did feel like his heart was full just being in this clearing with Y/n.
Silence enveloped the two of them for a moment. Y/n was the one to break the silence. “I’ll stop the gifts if you’d like, I know it probably seems like I'm forcing the connection but it’s in my nature to give gifts to the one I admire.” Y/n turned away slightly having realized it may seem a bit intrusive to humans for someone to give you gifts and you unknowingly opening up to them.
“Don’t stop the gifts, I truly enjoy them. Do I wish you had spoken to me first before you started courting me in such a way? Yes but I can’t fault you for acting on your instincts.” Nozel spoke and somehow he knew this was truly how he felt and not just the connection he had with the Fae. “Maybe in return for the many gifts you have so graciously provided I can take you out for dinner and I can learn more about you?” He asked, noticing the smile that had formed on Y/n’s face.
“I’d enjoy that very much, thank you.” Y/n responded, holding back the joy of not having to stop showering Nozel in his affections.
Before either of them could speak again, a sound similar to that of what pulled Nozel from his training when Y/n first encountered him, sounded from Nozel’s robe. The silver haired captain pulled the magic communication device from his pocket, frowning. With a sigh he stood up. “Well this is where I bid farewell for now Y/n. I look forward to seeing you again, I’ll leave a note with details for the dinner on the windowsill.” After receiving a nod in response from the fae still seated in the grass, Nozel summoned his silver eagle and made his way back to the capital.
After Nozel’s departure, y/n stayed in the clearing enjoying how smoothly revealing himself had gone, and looking forward to seeing where this relationship would go.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
“How are you?
Are you getting what you deserve?
You deserve love…
Love that will break you
Like how you broke mine!
You piece of—"
Your hands shook as you stared at the angry words on the screen of your computer, your heart pounding in your chest. The unfinished message to your ex-boyfriend, Minho, burned into your eyes. It felt good to type it, to imagine how he would react if he read it. But deep down, you knew you wouldn’t send it. You couldn’t.
Because even after all that he did… you still loved him.
“Ugh! You’re such an idiot!” you groaned, slamming your head down on your desk. How could you still have feelings for him, after everything he put you through?
But you had to get over it. You were determined to move on.
That is… until you found out Minho was now working in the same office as you.
Of all the places, why here? Why in your carefully built world, the one you’d managed to keep free from the wreckage of your relationship?
You clenched your fists, staring across the room as Minho moved effortlessly through the office, chatting with a couple of coworkers. His smile—that damn smile—was still the same, as if nothing had changed. As if your heart hadn’t shattered.
How could he look so unaffected? Did he not feel anything?
You quickly averted your gaze when his eyes met yours, the familiar smirk spreading across his face. It made your blood boil. You hated him, hated the way he made you feel so small and foolish. And the worst part? You hated how much you still cared.
You were done. Done with his games, his charm, his casual disregard for the pain he caused.
Done.
“Ready to leave already?” a voice interrupted your spiraling thoughts. You blinked and turned, realizing your coworker Jisung was standing beside your desk, his eyes twinkling with curiosity.
You hadn’t even noticed that you had started packing your things.
“No,” you lied, dropping your bag and sitting back down. “Just… organizing.”
“Uh-huh,” Jisung said, his tone playful but knowing. He had been working next to you for a year, long enough to recognize when you were hiding something. “So, what’s the deal with you and the new guy?”
You stiffened, your eyes instinctively darting back to Minho, who was now stirring his coffee at the pantry. His eyes flickered toward you again, and that damn smirk appeared, as if he could sense the tension building inside you.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” you muttered, returning your attention to your computer screen.
“Sure.” Jisung laughed softly, but it wasn’t a mocking laugh. He could see right through you. “You always glare at people like that, right?”
Your cheeks heated as you turned to face him. “What do you mean by that?”
Jisung chuckled again, but his tone softened. “I’m just saying… If looks could kill, Minho would be in the hospital by now.”
Your lips twitched, but you fought back the smile. Jisung had always known how to defuse your temper, but you didn’t want to admit that he was right.
“You’re imagining things,” you muttered.
“Mhm,” he said, clearly unconvinced but too kind to press further. “Well, whatever it is… you should probably be careful. The last thing you need is for him to know he’s getting to you.”
You glanced at Jisung, surprised at his perceptiveness. He was right, of course. But it was easier said than done.
Minho had been your boyfriend for three years. Three long years where you thought you’d spend the rest of your life together. You had plans. You’d graduate, find your dream jobs, buy a place together, maybe get married one day… have kids, one girl who looks like you and one boy who looks also like you because that's what he wanted. It was everything you wanted and promised.
And then… he broke your heart. One stupid mistake, and everything you’d built came crumbling down. You couldn’t forgive him. Not after the betrayal.
Yet, here you were, still trying to make sense of the emotions swirling inside you as you watched him now—calm, collected, and completely unfazed.
As if on cue, Minho approached your desk, holding a piece of paper. You felt a jolt of something deep inside—anger, hurt, and maybe a twinge of something more—something you hated yourself for feeling.
“Ms. Kim wanted you to do this,” Minho said casually, placing the paper on your desk. His voice was smooth, professional, but there was something in the way he looked at you. Like he was testing the waters, seeing how much he could push you.
You didn’t bother looking at him, simply nodding as you picked up the paper. “Okay.”
You kept your eyes on your computer, focusing on the task in front of you. But you could feel him still standing there, lingering. Waiting for… what? A reaction? An acknowledgment?
You refused to give him that satisfaction.
“Have you eaten yet?” he asked suddenly, his voice softer now.
Your stomach twisted. He had asked you that so many times before, back when things were… different. When he cared.
Or when you thought he cared.
You didn’t answer, hoping he’d just walk away. But he stayed, his presence hovering over you like a storm cloud.
“Hey, you should eat this,” Jisung’s voice broke through the tension like a ray of sunshine. He appeared out of nowhere, placing a lunch box in front of you with a proud smile. “I know you haven’t eaten yet.”
“Thanks,” you said, forcing a smile. Relief washed over you as you took the box from him, grateful for the distraction.
Jisung turned to Minho, his smile widening. “Oh, hey! I didn’t realize you were here.” He extended his hand toward him. “I’m Jisung, by the way.”
Minho hesitated for a split second before shaking his hand. His expression was unreadable as he nodded but offered no introduction in return.
Jisung didn’t seem to mind. He flashed Minho a friendly smile before turning his attention back to you. “Enjoy your lunch.”
Minho stood there for another moment, his eyes flicking between you and Jisung before he finally turned and walked away.
The second he was gone, you let out a long breath you hadn’t realized you were holding.
Jisung shook his head and sat down next to you. “What did he do to you?”
“Nothing,” you muttered, still feeling the weight of Minho’s presence lingering in the air. “He just asked if I’d eaten.”
Jisung raised an eyebrow. “And you didn’t answer?”
“Of course not,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Good.” Jisung patted your head affectionately. “You need to stay strong. Don’t let him get to you. If you ever need help moving on, you know I’ve got your back.”
You stared at Jisung for a moment, his offer unexpectedly lifting your spirits. “How?”
Jisung smirked, leaning in closer. “Oh, I’ve got my ways.”
-
It was another day for lunch break, and you were sitting in the cafeteria with Jisung, absentmindedly picking at your food. Your mind was elsewhere, swirling with thoughts of Minho. Ever since the news that he’d be attending tonight's team celebration, you hadn’t been able to focus.
“You look like you’re about to throw up,” Jisung commented, shoving a spoonful of rice into his mouth as he watched your expression closely. “You sure you’re okay?”
You sighed heavily, dropping your fork onto your plate. “It’s just… Minho,” you admitted, voice tinged with frustration. “I don’t know if I can handle seeing him tonight.”
Jisung’s brow furrowed, his chopsticks pausing mid-air. “You knew he’d be there. This isn’t new information."
“I know, I know,” you said quickly, “but every time I think about facing him, I just—” Your voice cracked, betraying your emotions. You hated how easily the mere thought of Minho affected you.
Jisung rolled his eyes, putting his chopsticks down with a soft clink. “Listen to me,” he said, leaning forward, his voice serious. “You need to show him that you’ve moved on. No more pining, no more sad looks. You need to act like you’re perfectly fine, like he doesn’t even exist in your world anymore.”
You scoffed, crossing your arms. “Easier said than done.”
“I’m serious, " Jisung insisted, his gaze unwavering. “If you let him see that he still has an effect on you, you’ll never be able to move forward. You’ve got to play it cool. Laugh, smile, act normal. Show him you’re better off now.”
You bit your lip, the knot in your stomach tightening. Jisung made it sound so simple, but the thought of pretending like everything was fine when you were still hurting seemed impossible.
“I don’t know if I can do that,” you admitted, your voice small.
Jisung sighed, but his expression softened. “I know it’s hard, but trust me. If you show him that you’ve moved on, it’ll hurt him more than any words you could say.”
You glanced up at him, doubt lingering in your eyes. “And what if I haven’t moved on?”
There was a pause, the weight of your words settling between you both.
Jisung looked away for a moment, his lips pressing into a thin line. When he looked back at you, there was a flicker of pain in his eyes, but he covered it quickly with a reassuring smile. “Then fake it till you make it. Eventually, you’ll get there.”
You let out a heavy sigh, staring down at your untouched food. Jisung’s words rang true, but pretending to be unaffected by Minho felt like lying to yourself. Still, he was right. You couldn’t keep letting Minho control your emotions.
“Fine,” you muttered, pushing your plate away. “I’ll act normal. But if this goes wrong, I’m blaming you.”
Jisung grinned, his playful side coming through as he nudged your shoulder. “Don’t worry, I’ve got your back.”
-
Tonight was a team celebration.
The department head insisted on treating everyone to drinks. Normally, you would have declined, but when Jisung nudged you with a reassuring smile, saying he’d take care of you, it was impossible to say no. Your friends chimed in, encouraging you to join. You didn’t really have a choice.
As the night wore on, you found yourself getting drunk—drunker than you anticipated. The alcohol wasn’t strong enough to numb the ache you felt after seeing Minho again, though. Each glance in his direction reminded you of the past.
Jisung, who sat beside you, silently observed the way your expression shifted whenever Minho laughed or cracked a joke with your other female co-workers. You told yourself not to care, but it stung anyway, the memories too fresh. You couldn’t let him see that he still affected you, that you were still tethered to him by emotions you wished you could bury.
But as the alcohol coursed through your veins, your emotions began building up, dangerously close to overflowing. You fought the tears stinging your eyes.
Before a tear could slip, Jisung was on his feet. “I think it’s time for us to head out,” he announced to the group, his hand resting protectively on your shoulder.
You wanted to protest, but the words didn’t come. Jisung’s arm wrapped around you firmly as he led you outside, and once you were away from the loud chatter and clinking glasses, he finally let go.
The silence between you both was heavy. Without a word, he let you cry.
“I still love him,” you confessed, your voice trembling.
Jisung inhaled deeply, his gaze soft but filled with pain as he let you spill your heart out.
“Even after everything he’s done… I still love him,” you cried louder, your knees threatening to buckle under the weight of it all.
Jisung guided you to his car, gently supporting you while you vented, calling Minho a jerk, but then confessing how you still remembered the way he loved you—the way you loved each other.
“You know…” you said between sobs, “there was this one time, he rented out my favorite park for our anniversary. There were flowers everywhere, and in the center… there was this table. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life…”
Your voice trailed off, the memory twisting the knife deeper into your heart.
“I thought… I thought he was the one. I thought we’d get married, that we’d be together forever,” you said, and the fresh wave of tears spilled over as Jisung opened the passenger door for you. He guided you into the seat, gently fastening your seatbelt.
Before he could move away, you reached up, cupping his cheeks, holding him in place. His eyes widened in shock, unsure of what you were about to do.
“I wish… I wish I had fallen in love with you,” you whispered, voice raw with regret.
For a moment, you both just stared at each other. The world around you seemed to slow down, the weight of your words hanging in the air.
Jisung whispers your name, his voice cracking slightly.
Before he could finish, you closed the distance between you and kissed him. It was soft, hesitant at first, but the pain in your heart surged forward, and you kissed him harder, trying to drown out the lingering feelings for Minho.
Jisung froze for a split second, caught off guard by your actions. Then, he closed his eyes, kissing you back, but there was a hesitation in the way his lips moved against yours. His hands hovered near your shoulders, unsure whether to hold you or push you away.
It had become a pattern—getting drunk, crying over Minho, and kissing Jisung in the process, that end up you making out in his car. Jisung knew about Minho -- from the start, he
knew how much he still haunted you, and now, after seeing Minho in person, a deep fear settled within him.
When you finally pulled back, both of you were breathless. His eyes, still wide, searched yours for an explanation, for something to hold onto.
“Every time…” Jisung whispered, his voice trembling. “Every time you kiss me… I know it’s not really me you’re thinking about.”
The honesty in his words stung.
“I’m sorry, Jisung,” you whispered, tears brimming in your eyes again. “I wish it was you…”
“I know,” he replied softly, his thumb brushing away the tears on your cheek. “But it’s not. And it never will be, will it?”
You didn’t have the heart to answer him, so you simply leaned your head against the car seat, eyes closing in exhaustion. The drive back was silent, the tension between you and Jisung suffocating.
-
The next morning came, and you were running late to work. The events of the previous night flooded your mind—crying over Minho, kissing Jisung. Shame twisted in your chest, but you tried to brush it off. Being late once wouldn’t hurt.
You hurried towards the elevator when suddenly, a hand grabbed your wrist and yanked you back.
“Let’s talk,” Minho’s deep voice commanded, sending chills down your spine.
“Let me go,” you protested, trying to pull away, but he was too strong. He dragged you to the emergency exit, closing the door behind you. The sudden isolation made your heart race.
Now you were alone with him—again.
“We don’t need to talk,” you snapped, trying to walk towards the door, but Minho’s arm slammed against the wall beside you, blocking your path.
“We. Need. To.” His voice was calm but forceful, his eyes dark as they bore into yours.
“Minho…” Your voice wavered, all the anger you wanted to hurl at him caught in your throat. You weren’t ready for this.
But Minho wasn’t going to let you escape.
“Do you still love me?” he asked bluntly, his eyes never leaving yours.
You stared at him, your lips trembling. You wanted to say no. You wanted to lie, to tell him he meant nothing to you anymore. But the truth was lodged in your throat, refusing to let you speak.
Minho’s gaze softened, a hint of sadness slipping through his cold exterior. “I know you still love me,” he whispered. “I can feel it. I still have an impact on you.”
His words snapped you out of your trance, anger bubbling up. The audacity.
You laughed bitterly. “How can you say that after everything you’ve done to me? After leaving me in the dark, after breaking me?”
Minho flinched but didn’t move. “Because I know you. And I know you can’t forget me.”
Your laugh turned hollow. “And if it’s true? What then, Minho?” you spat. “What does it matter?”
“If it’s true,” Minho stepped closer, his breath fanning your face, “then we should get back together.”
You stared at him in disbelief, laughter spilling out as tears blurred your vision. “Just like that? After everything?”
“I…” Minho faltered, his confidence wavering. “I didn’t cheat on you.”
“Liar!” You pushed him back, fury spilling out. “I saw you with her. You kissed my best friend.”
“I was drunk,” he muttered, his voice low with shame.
“Being drunk doesn’t excuse it!” you screamed, your voice cracking. “You still knew what you were doing.”
“I didn’t know… I didn’t realize it,” Minho insisted, his hands gripping your shoulders, eyes pleading. “I didn't know it would happen.”
“You’re lying, Minho. If it wasn’t true, you should’ve explained it then. But you didn’t. You just left.”
Minho’s eyes dropped, unable to meet your gaze anymore. “I…” His words failed him. Minho has a lot to tell but then he was now the one who can't talk.
“I wish I never saw you again,” you whispered, tears falling freely now. With that, you pushed past him and left the stairwell, slamming the door behind you.
Instead of going to your office, you headed straight for the exit. You couldn’t stay here. Not anymore. Not after this.
As you stepped outside, a familiar figure approached you—Jisung. He didn’t need to ask what happened. One look at your face told him everything.
Wordlessly, he guided you to his car, letting you cry in the passenger seat. The only sound in the car was your quiet sobs.
“I can’t do this anymore, Jisung,” you whispered after a long stretch of silence. “I can’t stay here. I need to leave. I need peace.”
Jisung’s heart clenched at your words, but he simply nodded, his voice soft. “I’ll come with you.”
You shook your head, tears slipping down your cheeks. “No. I can’t drag you into this. I can’t keep hurting you.”
“You’re not a burden to me,” Jisung said, his voice raw with emotion. “I love you. I would do anything for you.”
You already knew he loved you, but hearing it still took you by surprise.
“If my heart was ready… I would choose you,” you whispered. “But right now… it’s too tired. It’s too hurt. I can’t just forget Minho and love you. I wish I could, but…”
Jisung nodded, understanding the weight of your words. “I’ll wait,” he whispered. “For as long as you need.”

You stood in the middle of the bustling airport, your suitcase by your side and your heart heavy with the weight of everything you were leaving behind. The noise of travelers passing by, announcements over the intercom, and the occasional laughter from nearby families faded into the background as your thoughts consumed you.
The sunglasses you wore hid the emotions you were trying so hard to suppress. You glanced around the busy terminal, trying to remind yourself why you were here, why you made this decision. You needed peace. You needed to be far away from Minho, from the memories, from everything that hurt. This was your chance to start over, somewhere no one knew your name or your past.
You took a deep breath, your hands tightening around the handle of your suitcase. You could do this. You had to. For your own sanity, for your heart. It was the best way to move on.

howdy! i recently stumbled upon your account and saw that your requests were open. i have a small request for a newt x m!reader one-shot. feel free to ignore this if you don't feel like you're up for it 👍
maybe one where the reader has longer hair, and is a runner, as the weather's gotten warmer it's starting to become more of a chore when it comes to maintaining it so he asks newt to help him cut it? it can be as silly or goofy as you want, platonic or romantic is up to you.
i hope you're having a great day and enjoying the fall weather

if the haircut fits — newt x male reader
❝ IF THE HAIRCUT FITS ❞
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for the request, Bat. So sorry it took so long to finish, and I kind of ran away with this one, but I hope you enjoy!
SYNOPSIS ➢ As summer started to creep into the Glade, the sun’s rays had been hitting you much harder than usual; your hair, especially, have been more of a nuisance. Your solution? Get one of your closest friends to cut it for you. But losing the weight of your hair made you want to get rid of some weight off your chest, as well.
PAIRING ➢ newt x male reader
CONTENT WARNING ➢ friends to lovers, kissing, touching, banter, light insults sexual innuendoes, fluff, slight hurt/comfort, mentions of eating, mentions of drinking, slight violence (a slap), mentions of body, no use of y/n
WORD COUNT ➢ 7.3 k
AUTHORS NOTE ➢ I like to keep any image of the reader’s body out of my writing, but in this he’s implied to be well built, but not explicitly mentioned. The hair may also be more of a non-black standard, since I’m not sure exactly how black hair behaves in this situation, but I tried to keep it as vague as possible. I’m sure there are also a lot of inaccuracies in this concerning the Glade, such as the weather and the sun and the lake, but for the sake of this fic it works like I say it does — I am the author and therefore, God.
Tumblr media
The air had gotten warmer recently. You’d noticed it only a few days ago, when your breath hadn’t exhaled in a cloud of white smoke and your neck had started to sweat after a full day of running in the Maze. The weather didn’t exactly respond to how the seasons—that on some level your subconscious knew existed—worked, but it changed all the same. It had only gotten warmer, and quickly, too. With the sun bearing down on from overhead, the air was chokingly warm, your skin practically dripping with sweat and the ends of your hair clinging to your neck. It had grown long during the past few months and while it was a comfort in the colder weather, strands of it now hung uncomfortably in your eyes despite your best attempts to pull it back into a knot.
Minho walked just in front of you through the gates of the Maze and entered the green forestry of the Glade. The walls closed right behind you and in spite of the late hour of the day the sun still shone bright in the sky. He was just as eager to take cover from it under the cool shade of the Glade’s woods as to throw himself into the equally cool lake. You ran up beside him, patting him on the shoulder.
“This weather,” he grunted, wiping the palms of his hands on his trousers. They left tracks of sweat. “I swear it’s got something against us.”
“Yeah,” you agreed with a sigh. You peeled your drenched shirt from your skin, pulling it over your head in an attempt to ease some of the warmth. It didn’t made much of a difference.
Minho threw you a sideway glance as you walked across the green fields. “Eager to show your body off?”
You threw your head back in a bark, sidestepping so you would walk backwards to face him. Your hands spread as your head tilted with conviction.
“You’d want to show off your body too if it looked like this,” you said. Minho couldn’t help but smile at your comment, shaking his head in exasperation. You turned around to walk beside him normally again.
As the two of you made your way to the lake, you passed the gardens and its track-hoes, Newt being one among them. Despite the fact that he was second in command, he liked the calming repetitiveness of caring for vegetables and flowers. He’d told you one late night when you’d found him sitting by himself, staring up at the night sky, and your curiosity had gotten the better of you. Now, his eyes met yours in an instant, as if he’d known exactly where you were. As if he’d been watching you for some while, and waiting for you to notice. Your stomach flipped at his unashamed staring, nervous under the gaze, as your mind drew a blank. Quickly, you rearranged your mouth into a smirk, to which he shook his head out of his stunned stupor and continued with his task, but you could tell his mind wasn’t present as his eyes kept jumping back and forth.
Minho saw your smug smile and hit you across the chest, hard enough to cause you to stumble. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Newt cover his mouth from something that looked like a chuckle and you glared back at Minho’s now-smug smile. He just tilted his head and kept walking to the cover of the trees.
“You can flirt with Newt later,” he said. “Let’s go wash off.”
“I wasn’t flirting with anyone! Let alone Newt.”
“Whatever, man.”
You grumbled something unintelligible, which he ignored, as you walked together to the lake on the other side of the Glade. It was a rather long walk, but the time in the trees’ shade cooled you down nicely. Reaching the lake, the water was darkening with the passing of the sun, seeming almost more ominous now than inviting. You found a few other Gladers there already, some of them laying by the bank with their shirts discarded and the rest of them submerged in the water. Minho wasted no time removing his shirt and running into the dark water. You discarded your earlier thoughts and quickly followed suit, pulling your hair from its knot and jumping into the lake with a splash that earned you an ugly glare from a Glader nearby. Minho shared the glare and slapped the water hard, sending it flying in your direction.
“Shankhead,” he muttered.
You only laughed and leant backwards, fully submerging your body under the dark water. Your muscles relaxed and let the water carry you out further in the lake, effectively cooling you down. This was exactly what you needed after a warm and exhausting day; your head under the water, your hair spread around you like the halo of some angel—if an angel could be trapped in a maze. The cold water felt like a blanket across your mind, quieting your thoughts down to a tenth of their usual volume. There were few things that could calm you like this.
The peace didn’t last long, though, as Minho’s hand suddenly closed over your arm and dragged you above surface.
“What?” you spit at him.
He cocked his head to the end of the lake and when you turned your head you saw Newt’s figure walking closer, his hands in the pockets of his trousers. You immediately tried to stand up, but forgot you were too far out, and instead of touching the sand you sunk deeper in the water with a splutter. Again, you broke the surface with a gasp and a flail of your arms, struggling to wipe your hair out of your eyes. Minho was unsurprisingly unhelpful, barking out his laugh at your unfortunate. You glared at him and swam to the bank where Newt stood waiting. It was only then that you noticed a lot of the other boys were gone or also on their way from the lake.
“Smooth,” Newt commented when you reached him.
“Shut up.”
He nodded his head to the woods behind him. “Dinnertime’s soon. Reckoned I’d go get you.”
“I am honoured your lordship would bother thinking of little ol’ me,” you smiled. He only rolled his eyes.
Your steps brought you up further, the water splashing around your knees. Newt’s arms were crossed over his chest as he leant on one foot, waiting for you to reach him. You noticed that he adamantly kept his eyes fixated on a spot just above your head, refusing to glance at any part of your body that was currently on display. A part of you sparked with amusement. Minho stepped out just behind you and went over to retrieve your clothes, throwing your shirt and boots at you.
“Thanks,” you bit at him, just barely avoiding one hitting your head.
He flashed you with a smug smirk as he pulled his shirt over his head, immediately causing wet spots to bloom wherever it touched his skin directly. “My pleasure,” he said and started walking back to the huts, through the now-dark forest.
The sun had settled quickly and long shadows now stretched before you as you turned to walk into the forest. Newt followed suit, staring at you with a raised eyebrow.
“Not going to put on your shirt?” he asked.
You turned your head to catch Newt’s gaze sweeping across your figure. It filled you with a strange satisfaction to see him checking you out. When he noticed that you’d caught him, he immediately looked away, his posture suddenly stiff. His cheeks were definitely redder than they had been before, although it was difficult to tell in the darkening light. Your lips tugged into something resembling a smile.
“Why? Does it bother you?”
Newt scoffed and met your gaze defiantly underneath his golden fringe. “No. I just don’t want your stupid arse to get sick.”
Your smile widened. “Oh, really? Do you happen to care for me, Newt?”
“I am not admitting that,” he said and rolled his eyes. His tone was suspiciously even, as if it took everything in him not to check you out again. “I’m only saying it’d be be more trouble than you’re worth to get you healthy again.”
His brown eyes met yours, obstructed with a few strands. You had the urge to reach out and pull them away, to see his eyes more clearly, but instead you sent him a simple smile and nudged him lightly with your elbow. “Okay, you have your priorities clear,” you said.
“Just go get ready, won’t you?” His glare was enough to send shivers down your spine and his hands started to turn your body in the direction of the huts, now already having reached the end of the woods. “See what I told you? You’re already getting cold!”
“Fine,” you drawled with your hands up in defence, looking at him over your shoulder. “I’ll see you at the bonfire.”
He lifted his hand in half a wave and swiftly turned away from you, walking to where the others had begun to gather by the fire. Sometimes you forgot he had hurt his leg—it had happened before you arrived in the Glade—but looking at him now his limp was evident in his step. You lingered a moment longer to watch his hair glow in the contrast from the fire, vaguely resembling the sun in an eclipse. You found the view almost poetic, entrancing you in its picturesque aestheticism. It reminded you of Icarus flying too close to the sun, you standing by, helpless to aid him in his downfall, inevitably and irrevocably fated to meet his doom. You weren’t sure where the thought or the name had come from, but ancient knowledge seemed to lord over you in a cloud of mystery.
“Go!” called Newt suddenly over his shoulder. He met your eye with a quirk of his brow and for a second his eyes seemed to draw you into the depths of his soul, but then you blinked and the feeling was gone.
“Going!” you jumped out of your daze to call back and quickly turned to make your way to the huts. How he had known you’d stayed put you didn’t know, but didn’t question further. You rushed to your cot to grab a change of clean clothes and a towel to dry off with, even though most of the water had already dried and cooled your skin with the night’s chill. Still, your hair hung heavy with water, wetting the new shirt you put on. You groaned as you tried to wipe it with the towel, but to no avail. The only downsides to having long hair was it took forever to dry. It would have to warm by the fire.
You changed into the warm pair of trousers and put on your boots. Still, your damp hair felt cold against your skin, which would have been nice if the temperature didn’t drop so suddenly as soon as the sun was gone. You hurried to the fire, the air enveloping you into its warm grasp, eyes already searching for the familiar blonde boy. A lot of the Gladers were milling about, eating the good food Frypan had cooked up or drinking some of the incredibly strong spirit you knew Newt fancied. Someone was laughing loudly nearby but you ignored it in favour of searching for the quiet spot you knew you would find him by. When your eyes settled on him, sitting on a log with a drink in his hand and a plate on his knee, your hand reflexively made its way to pull back your bangs from your eyes. Warmth settled in your stomach that was equally familiar.
“Don’t worry, you look good,” came Minho’s voice beside you. You shot him a glare and removed your fingers from your hair, still itching to pull it away. “Not that your ego needs the boost.”
“Not what I was concerned with,” you said. You swallowed. “But thanks.”
Minho grinned. Your lips lifted into an answering grin and Minho nudged you towards the fire. “Go get ‘em.”
You frowned at him, pretending not to understand what he meant, before shaking your head and walking towards where Newt was sitting. His gaze lifted as you approached and you felt your stomach flipping, not uncomfortably.
“So, he can wear a shirt? Was starting to believe you weren’t capable of it,” said Newt, lowering his drink from his lips.
“Yeah,” you answered with a sheepish grin.
You sat down next to him on the log and reached over to nick a few pieces of his fruit. Newt immediately leant away, lifting the plate away from your reach.
“Woah--oi, hey! Don’t take my food! Get your bloody own from Frypan,” he grumbled, settling you with a glare. You recognised the glint in his eye though, the one that told you he wasn’t entirely serious. His eyes shone in the firelight, softening the longer you stayed quiet, and his lips even started to turn up. At the sight of it, yours did as well. He always knew how to bring out your mischievous side.
“Your food tastes much better.”
“It’s exactly the same.”
You shook your head. “No, by its mere proximity to you, the food is better.”
Newt rolled his eyes and placed his plate back on his knee, where your hand quickly snatched away the remainder of his fruit. He only sighed and took a long sip from his drink, pretending to ignore your staring at him. Finally, he lowered his glass and met your gaze with a sigh.
“What?” asked Newt, tone as flat as he could manage to make it in your presence.
Your lips tugged into a smile. “Nothing,” you said and glanced away.
Out of the corner of your eye, you could see Newt swiftly turn to you before you felt a nudge against your side, almost pushing you off balance. You cried out and reached towards him to stabilise yourself, sending him the harshest glare you could muster in spite of the laughter that was waiting in your throat. He met it with a glare of his own while ignoring your hands on his arm and shoulder, which suddenly felt too hot to the touch. Blood rushed to your cheeks.
“Nothing,” you repeated, avoiding his gaze. You were forced to let go of him with a clearing of your throat, conscious of your cold hands. You became too aware of your hair brushing your cheek, annoyingly tickling your skin. Before you could move, Newt’s hand had reached out to brush it away. Your breath hitched in your throat and you were unable to rip your eyes away from his.
“Sorry,” he said bashfully and withdrew it, curling it into an uncertain fist.
You smiled. “No, no, it’s okay. It’s getting too long,” you mumbled, your hands moving as if with a mind of their own to fiddle with the longer strands of your hair.
“I could help you, you know?” spoke Newt, drawing your gaze to him. He seemed not to have noticed your flustered state or he chose to ignore it. You hoped it was the former.
You frowned at him. “What do you mean?”
His voice broke as he opened his mouth to speak, but he cleared his throat and nodded to your head.“I could help cut your hair.”
“Really?” you asked, surprise evident in your voice. You supposed cutting weeds while gardening got him familiar around shears.
“I mean, yeah, sure,” said Newt. “Reckon I’d do a better job than anything you’d manage, anyway.”
Your head whipped to the side, mouth open in indignation. “That’s foul!”
His lips tugged into a grin and he lifted an eyebrow with the argument. “Am I wrong?” Your eyes swept over his own hair, which you assumed he’d cut himself, and pursed your lips in contemplation. It looked good. He looked good. Especially in that light, when the fire casted a golden aura that settled around his head like a halo. It effortlessly managed to draw your attention to every shift in his movement.
“No,” you finally grumbled, again tugging at a strand.
His hand reached out to tuck the stray strand of your hair away, and in doing so pushed away your own. The short moment of contact made your breath stutter and come out in a short burst. Newt met your gaze with a smile. It felt different than before, none of his usual amusement visible in his gaze. Instead, there now hung a heavy silence over the both of you, despite the loud chatter and laughter of those who had gathered by the fire. You were so close to him that you could count the lashes on his eyes. His gaze, which usually swirled with the pain and frustration that served as a reminder that Newt was capable of more than he let on, was now void of that. There was only curiosity and something softer that you couldn’t describe to be found. Newt must have felt your breath on his hand by now were it not for you holding it in anticipation. As if suddenly realising it, he blinked and leant away from you, his hand falling down at your side. Your breathing returned to normal as you tried to keep the warmth rushing to your cheeks at bay, trying in vain to ignore how close you two had just been. It was too dark for you to see if he was feeling the same way, or he was just too good at hiding it, but it didn’t keep you from scrutinising his face for any clues.
“Take a sick day tomorrow, meet me by the gardens,” he said after a few minutes of silently staring into the fire. His voice was level, as if he hadn’t been caressing your cheek only moments before.
You tried to match his nonchalance and arched an eyebrow. “Minho will murder me.”
Newt cocked his head. “Let that be on my head.”
“Fine,” you said and stood up with a groan, feeling the stretch of your muscles from the day’s run. Newt followed your movement, meeting your eye as you pointed an accusing finger at him. “On your head, be it.”
Newt nodded, sending a smirk your way. You stepped away from him and made your way to Frypan. As you grabbed a few sandwiches, Gally sneaked up by your side, swiping one of the sandwiches in your hand.
“Got tired of flirting, huh?” he chuckled.
You glared at him and bit into your sandwich. “Shut up.”
He smirked smugly. “It’s plain as day, Greeny.”
“You’re worse than Minho,” you grumbled. Your finger lifted to point in his direction. “And stop calling me that, I haven’t been Greeny for a year.”
His mocking laughter followed you as you walked away from the fire towards the huts, shaking your head. A few Gladers had followed your trail of thought, also deigning to go to bed early. You fell into your sleeping cot with your feet kicked up and a deep sigh escaping your lips. Your mind couldn’t keep from trailing back to the sight of Newt by the fire, his brown eyes shining along with his smug smirk. A groan fought through your throat as you rubbed your eyes in frustration.
It wasn’t that you didn’t like Newt. On the contrary, you liked him a lot. He was kind and funny and witty and smart and always knew how to both make you laugh and trample on your nerves to get you furious with him. But you didn’t fancy him, no matter how much Minho and Gally liked to imply it. He just had a special way to worm his way into your thoughts and then burrow there. For days after an interaction, you would think of how he looked at you a certain way or how he would accidentally touch you while brushing past.
It drove you insane, how easily Newt could get inside your mind.
And how easily he could stir up the warmth inside your stomach and make it rush to your cheeks with only a simple gesture. You had found yourself trying to hide your cheeks when around him too often lately and you were sure he had noticed, but only given you the curtesy of not commenting on it.
“Fuck,” you groaned again and turned over in your cot, your hair prickling your skin with reminder of what tomorrow would bring.
It was difficult to distract your mind from Newt long enough to settle down. Eventually, you managed to fall into a restless sleep, filled with the muddled dreams of red sunlight bouncing off of bluish marble, almost creating the illusion of moving water. You saw the reflection of your form against the stone below you but before you had the chance to take it all in, a hand had clasped your own and another drawn you in by your waist. When you looked up, it was the face of none other than the person you had previously been trying to forget, although you could not fathom why at that moment. Newt. His warm smile calmed you down and you allowed him to lead you into the first steps of a waltz. How you had learnt it you didn’t question, but just followed his captivating eyes and trusted him to catch you if you fell. Those same eyes were gazing into yours, big and brown and with the same curiosity that had gazed on you earlier that day. Only now, you allowed yourself to get lost in the sight of them, to be entranced by their deep swirling darkness. Right when Newt had stretched his arm out and sent you into a light spin, and his hand was ready to welcome you back into his embrace, had his expression changed from one of bliss to one of chock and disgust. You halted, frowning at his actions, before following his line of sight and reaching a hand up to the top of your head. To your horror, all your hair had suddenly vanished. Panic rose through you, clawing blindly at your empty head, wanting to escape from this, from everything, from Newt’s hateful glance. You took a step and tried another but caught the only small imperfection in the marble that caused you to stumble, falling down, down, and down… waiting for the ground to hit you.
What came instead was a slap on your chin, harsh enough to force you awake.
“Ngh— fuck,” you croaked, blinking drowsily. Your vision cleared up as you squinted at your assailant, recognising the judging stare immediately. “Come on, man.”
The sun had barely come up again over the tall walls guarding the Glade when Minho had deigned to make you a visit. That time was usually when you would get ready for your run in the Maze. Apparently, Newt had not said anything to Minho which made you let out a deep groan. Minho was staring down at your messy form, his arms crossed over his chest with a harsh stare pinning you to your place. He cocked his head, raising an eyebrow.
“Anyone tell you you’re an ugly sleeper?” he asked, a sickly sweet smile on his lips.
“No, I’m adorable,” you stated, trying to sit up as best as you could. “I’m taking a day off. I’m sick.” You punctuated your words with the best fake cough you could muster.
Minho looked unconvinced. “No, you’re not.”
“Yes, I am,” you countered. When he raised an eyebrow you sighed in defeat. “Okay, I’m not sick. But I’m still taking a day off. If you want to argue, take it up with Newt. He’s got senior on you. And we both know you won’t miss me today.”
Minho’s breath released in a sharp burst as he contemplated your words. Finally, he let his arms fall to his side. “Fine,” he said, but raised a finger to point at you. “But you better have a damn good reason as to why you’re staying here today.”
You shot him a smile. “A damn good reason.”
He rolled his eyes and turned to walk away. “I will miss you, by the way,” he called over his shoulder. Then, he added, with a smug smirk, “Sweetheart.”
It was then your turn to roll your eyes as a bark of laughter forced itself out your throat. You rubbed your face from sleep, trying to get rid of your sluggishness. As you were already awake, you figured you could just as well get up to meet Newt a little earlier. It wouldn’t be long until the rest of the Gladers woke up, anyway.
Minho and the rest of the Runners were already by the Maze’s walls. You could see their figures in the distance as the gates started to open with a loud rumble, one that you could feel shaking the earth beneath your feet. You shook your head and stretched your limbs, feeling them pop and crack individually. Minho liked to be up and early with his runs, but you were glad to get a day off to rest. You turned to your things, changing into a clean pair of clothes and put your hair up, mostly out of autonomy. Last time you would do that for a while, you figured.
Newt’s cot was among one of the empty ones, so you assumed he would have already gone to Frypan’s station to get breakfast. You made your way over there, spotting his slumped figure immediately. He jumped when you dropped down beside him, nicking an apple from his plate.
“Could you maybe get your own food for once?” he asked with a cocked eyebrow. You smiled through your amusement, slowly chewing on the fruit. You swallowed with an exaggerated motion, sending him a sickly sweet smile.
“No,” you said. He rolled his eyes while taking a mouthful of his scrambled eggs, ignoring your presence in the process.
“Remind me again why I needed to take the whole day?” you asked. “Hopefully, Minho won’t feel as murder-y when he gets back later as how he felt this morning.”
You saw the corner of his lip lift into what you imagined to be a smile. Smug bastard.
“My art takes time,” he eventually answered, turning to you. “I want it to look good.”
You raised an eyebrow. “I already look good.”
“And I want you to stay that way.” Newt shot a meaningful glance at the other Gladers, which had you wincing. Some of them could benefit from a more skilful haircut, you must admit.
“Fine.”
“Besides,” he said, “it’s easier when the sun is at its highest. Less chance for me to fuck it up then.”
Newt smiled at you, but his words indicated an underlying threat, one that had you smiling back in amusement. He really loved pushing your buttons. It didn’t help that you actually were concerned about your hair being fucked up—not that you would consider yourself a vain person, but you knew how much someone’s looks could be diminished because of a bad haircut. And your thoughts ran to the dream you’d had; was it a nightmare or a premonition?
You scratched your neck, conscious of the hair touching your skin. “You know what? I’m actually not so certain about this.”
Newt sighed and pinned his gaze on you. “I see you swatting your hair away all the time,” he said, exasperation shining through annoyance. “It’s clearly annoying you.”
His words made something in you flip. “Are you saying that you notice me all the time, then?” you asked with a smug smile, unable to keep your amusement at bay for long.
He ignored your question. “I’m not going to fuck it up, mate.” When you sent him a sceptical glare he sighed again, and asked, “What are you so afraid of? Don’t you trust my skills?”
Your lips tugged in earnest for a moment, before again settling into their smug familiarity. “I guess I’m just scared you’ll find me less attractive if I cut my hair.” You blinked through your eyelashes, meeting Newt’s incredulous gaze. “I mean, what if the whole reason you like me is because of my handsome hair?”
“That’s ridiculous,” he scoffed, turning to look down at his plate.
“So you admit you do find me attractive?” you chuckled.
“Never said that.”
Your lips pressed into a line, wondering if you had crossed the line that time. It took a moment to decide before opening your mouth again. “Will you still help me?”
“Of course,” he smiled at you, winking playfully. The gesture made butterflies immediately appear in your stomach and you had to look away lest he see the smile gracing your lips. He stood up from his seat, leaving the rest of his breakfast untouched, and nudged your side. “C’mon, let’s get going.”
“Now?”
“Yes, now. Or would you rather we wait until I get tired and the light is bad for me to slip with my shears?”
He had a point, damn him. “Fine,” you admitted, following suit and going outside with him. The sun blinded the both of you, already high in the sky. It felt strange for it to be this bright out and not being in the maze running.
Newt started walking toward the garden so you followed point, close at his heel. He picked up a pair of dirty looking shears, turning to flash you a grin. You looked at them skeptically, which he must have noticed.
“Look, they’ll get the job done, alright?”
Your eyebrow cocked. “You sure? Looks like they haven’t worked since ten years ago.”
Newt laughed dryly and nudged past you, walking the way to the woods.
“Hey, where are you going?” you asked.
“The lake. Need to get your hair wet,” he called over his shoulder.
Hmm. Sounded reasonable. You ran to keep up with him and joined him by the lake you had been swimming in the day before. The water looked even more inviting now, with the sun glittering across its surface instead of the afternoon’s deep shadows. Newt, none too gently, shoved you in the direction of it, sitting himself down by the bank.
You flashed a smile to him. “That eager to see me shirtless again?”
He rolled his eyes and reached for the water to splash it up at you. You yelped and jumped out of reach, giving him a stare full of contempt. “Just dump your ‘ead in the water, you knob.”
“Since you asked so kindly.”
You lowered your body closer to the bank, only letting your head submerge under the water. It felt cold, but not uncomfortably so. You felt a tap against your shoulder, Newt, and sprang up into sitting position. Water dripped from your hair, drenching your shirt and face. When you turned to Newt, your smile was crooked.
“Great,” he said, moving to sit behind you, shears in his hands. “Now all you have to do is keep still. Think you can do that?”
“Anything for you, Newt.”
You sighed happily and leant back, letting the sun cast its warm rays over you. You didn’t notice the moment Newt hesitated after your words, before he started drawing his fingers through your hair. All you knew was that suddenly his touch was there and it felt heavenly. You knew he only did it to measure your hair to cut it, but every time his fingers brushed against your scalp shivers erupted across your spine. You almost had the mind to close your eyes and fall asleep right then and there, with Newt almost caressing you. You imagined those same fingers running down from your head, touching the skin over your neck, brushing past your abdomen and squeezing your thighs. Even the thought of it made your breath hitch and you kept still to keep him from noticing anything amiss. Slowly and carefully, he worked, cutting methodically. You cracked an eye open, trying to glance at him from the corner of it.
“How’s it going, Newt?” you asked.
He grabbed a fistful of your hair and pulled lightly, and said, “Don’t rush me.”
It was enough to make warmth travel to your cheeks and your abdomen, so you kept quiet after that and let him do his work in peace. His fingers danced closer to your skin then, trying to get to the nape of your neck and it took all your willpower not to shy away from him. Slowly, you relaxed into his hold again, numbed by the featherlight touches and breaths of air fanning over your skin when he sat too close.
And suddenly, it was all over. With one final brush of his hand, his fingers running through your hair thoroughly, he cleared his throat and moved away.
“All done,” said Newt, though it was almost a whisper.
You opened your eyes to the sight of him sitting on his folded knees and his fingers fidgeting with the shears, looking almost as if it took all his power to concentrate on his breathing. You smiled, raising an eyebrow, and ran your own hand through your hair. It felt lighter, and smooth, and you hadn’t realised how much of a relief it was to be gone with the length.
“How do I look?” you asked, meeting his eye.
“Good.”
“Better than before?”
Newt shrugged and stood up. “Good, like always.”
Your lips quirked into a mischievous smile. “You think I’m good looking?”
“Don’t flatter yourself,” he scoffed, but you could definitely see a redness spreading across his cheeks. He tried to turn away but you were quicker, bounding closer to him and shaking away the cutaway strands in the same movement. It was fun teasing him.
“You’re the one who said it!” you exclaimed.
“Oi, stop being difficult,” he settled his glare on you.
“I’m not.”
He shot you a look, one that told you he was trying to stay annoyed but secretly enjoying your antics. “You are,” he said while turning in the way to the rest of the Glade, shears hanging loosely from his grip.
You ripped your gaze from his long fingers, the image of them making your mind return to how you had wanted him to touch you earlier, and instead ran to keep up with his steps. You could sense the smile hiding in the corner of his lip, almost like a sixth sense, determined to bring it out. So, eyebrows lifted in a suggestive expression, you saddled closer to his side and said, “But you like a challenge, right—so why are you complaining?”
The gaze Newt responded with could only be described as filled with disbelief, and something else—something mischievous. “So now you’re a challenge, hm?” he asked, his eyebrows disappearing behind the ruffles of his hair.
You frowned and tilted your head at him. “Hey! Are you calling me easy?”
“Well, if the haircut fits…” he trailed off, leaving the rest of the sentence up to your active imagination.
“Now that’s just plain rude,” you muttered, lowering your gaze to the ground to avoid any missteps in the uncertain terrain of the Glade’s woods.
“I’m so very sorry, mate,” said Newt, without much conviction. You rolled your eyes at his sarcastic tone and noticed the flashing smile that was then all too visible on his face. “How can I make it up to you?”
“You can start by not calling me ‘mate’,” you retorted, not thinking through your words except to win this ‘argument’.
Newt glanced at you. “And what would you rather me call you?”
“I don’t know.” You shrugged, avoiding his gaze, while all too aware of what he was trying to get you to admit. But you were comfortable with the dance you and him were engaged in. It had been going on for so long that you had forgotten how to not do it with him. It was easier to keep dancing with him, to keep the illusion of a ballroom couple perfect rather than to quiet the orchestra and run from your Prince Charming. Newt seemed to sense where your thoughts had run to, as he tried to meet your gaze.
“You sure about that?” he asked sceptically.
“Er, yeah?”
Newt was way too good at reading you and would not believe any excuses you tried to make, however convincing they may be. You both despised and admired him for it. He stopped you in your tracks with a hand across your midriff; the feel of his fingers pressing against your skin, even through the shirt, made shivers travel down your spine. The hand quickly retreated as he tried searching your eyes.
“I—,” he started, voice unsteady. He cleared his throat to regain his composure as you waited for him, arms crossed, trying to keep up the charade any way you could. “I think you’d rather me call you ‘good looking’. Or ‘handsome’. Or ‘pretty’. Or what about ‘love’, hm?”
You scoffed, rolling your eyes, trying to ignore the warmth traveling up your neck to rush to your cheeks. “Don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Sure you don’t,” he said, an eyebrow raised from the very obvious tremor in your voice.
“Are you teasing me, Newt?” you asked incredulously.
Newt flashed you a smug smile and shrugged, looking away bashfully. “Got to be my turn to do it sometime,” he said.
You were used to you teasing him and poking fun, but he always took it in stride and seldom flirted back—which was what this had somehow turned into. If you’d known you two would end up flirting because of him cutting your hair you never would have agreed to his help—or maybe you still would have. Either way, there was no escaping it now. Fuck it, you thought. A frustrated groan seethed through your pressed lips as you threw your hands up in exasperation.
“You know what? Fine,” you said, meeting Newt’s gaze defiantly. “Yes, I’d like to be called all of those things. And I would like to call you all of those things.” You paused to then search Newt’s gaze, but he just stared at you in stunned silence and made no attempt to answer, so you kept going, albeit slightly more hesitant. “I—I want to hold you, to touch you, embrace you in the way that simple friends shouldn’t do. I’d like to whisper into your ear at night how much you brighten my days and make this shucking life worth living. Most of all, I would like to call you mine.”
You paused again to inhale deeply, your breathing shallow after your rant. It had driven your emotions to the surface so well you might as well have been wearing your feelings on your sleeve, ready to hand out romantic professions for anyone bothering to glance your way.
You hadn’t noticed how warm your cheeks had suddenly gotten, and made to move away while muttering, “There—I’ve said it. Let’s just go.”
“Wait—no—” Newt shouted, throwing out his arm to grab your wrist.
He pulled you back into him, making you lose balance, and a moment later his lips had closed over yours. The surprised gasp that had escaped your lips was quieted by his kiss and you quickly melted into his embrace. Immediately, his fingers closed over your nape, taking hold of your now-short hair and drawing you even closer. You could feel him pressing himself closer in whatever way he could manage, one hand tugging at your hair and the other clawing at your waist. Each individual touch sent sparks of warmth and cold over your skin as your hands closed over his jaw and throat. Even your imagination couldn’t have predicted how he would feel, how his body would fit against yours and make you want to never breathe again if it meant you could stay with him, like this, forever.
Finally, you had to pull away to suck in a deep breath of air, Newt trailing after and barely letting you go. You couldn’t fight the chuckle that forced its way out nor the grin that spread over your lips. Neither could he, as you saw his blushing face break out in a beam and his eyes jumping all over your face. It made you painfully aware of yourself and you bowed your head to settle against the crook of his neck, bashful in spite of your close contact. His hands were still holding onto your waist and kept your body pressed against him.
“Don’t get shy now,” he chided, though his tone was light and his fingers were rubbing slow circles across your back.
Despite the warm sun that glared over the pair of you, his gesture made a shiver crawl up your spine and you pulled away to look at him with an arched eyebrow. “Really, you’re calling me shy?” He nodded to your question. “I’m shy when you’re here— Have you completely forgotten who’s always bold and teases and openly flirts with you?”
Newt scoffed, drawing his hands over the small of your back. “Well, maybe I stole your boldness when I kissed you.”
You almost couldn’t believe him. His cheeks were already flushed, but burned even brighter when your hand pressed against his neck to pull him in again, forcefully pressing your lips against his and claiming his tongue as yours. In doing so, you swallowed his surprised gasp with your kiss, but he didn’t manage to suppress the moan when you took his bottom lip between your teeth and bit lightly. It made you smile smugly, pulling away immediately to look upon his bright red face and dazed expression.
“Who’s shy now, hm?” you asked, crossing your arms over your chest and stepping out of his hold.
Newt shot you an angry glance, but it was difficult to take him seriously when he was also blushing furiously. He decided to leave it at that and with not much dignity, pick up the shears he had dropped and started walking back towards the huts. Again, you had to run after him with laughter playing on your lips. You could tell he wasn’t really annoyed, but it was easy to slip back in the comfortable dance of your relationship.
You wouldn’t let him pretend like all of this had not happened, though. He looked at you in surprise when your hand sought out his own, fingers intertwining and closing over his. You smiled back, feeling a slight burning at the tip of your ears, but he leant in and placed a light kiss that made you wish for more again, which eased your nervousness.
“Guess we’re both a little shy, huh,” he remarked. You just shrugged, looking ahead to the opening of the forest, but the smile still apparent on your lips.
“And where the fuck have you two been?” cried Alby’s voice as soon as you stepped out of the trees.
Immediately, you felt as if you jumped out of your skin and let go of Newt’s hand, his cheeks burning as much as yours did. You scratched the back of your neck and glanced sheepishly at Newt, catching the mischievous glint in his eyes; neither of you could fight the smiles that broke out on both your faces.
“On your head be it, you said,” you smirked, slipping away from his indignant eyebrow raise.
You left Newt to deal with Alby alone with a playful wink, to which he only shook his head and hid his smile as he faced the approaching commander. You had half a mind to skip away with the happiness that were bubbling through you, but managed to contain yourself to walking away with a steady pace, though you couldn’t keep your thoughts from running back to the memory of Newt against you nor the smile that followed.

Knife happy Medjacks
Masterlist
Word count: 723
The maze runner (platonic/unspecified) x Gn reader
I got this idea from this deleted scene
Jeff has to wrangle in Clint and Y/n, who after dealing with builders all day, start to agree that maybe amputation is the way to go
Tumblr media
Today had been a particularly rough day for Clint, Jeff and I, the builders had started a new project today and with that brought many of those said builders into the Medjack hut with various injuries. Ranging from cuts, scrapes, bruises and the occasional broken bone. They may have been incredibly strong but the builders didn't seem all too bright sometimes.
We had just sent off one of the builders who managed to break his finger with a hammer when Clint decided to speak up “you know, maybe we really should start amputating them” I put away some supplies before looking over at him. “Well I mean it would certainly start teaching them to be more careful” he let out a quick laugh “it would also make our job a lot easier when they're building” the two of us laughed with each other before Jeff stepped in. “Ok no, we are not amputating them” I let out a sad groan “aww come on Jeff, don't you think they deserve it” Clint was quick to back me up “Y/n’s got a point, plus their stupidity is starting to get on my nerves”.
Jeff seemed to almost consider what we were saying before instantly shaking those thoughts away “NO! Besides, how would we explain amputation just for some cuts and bruises?” Jeff simply rolled his eyes at us as he went back to sorting our supplies. Me and Clint looked over at each other, nodding and silently mouthing agreement's.
Organising all the new equipment took a lot longer than any of us would have liked, it wasn't easy when we had stupid teenage boys coming in every five minutes because they couldn't seem to distinguish nails from their own hands. We had just finished taking care of two guys, who had somehow managed to slice up their arms, working into lunch. The random influx of boys coming in was something that the three of us struggled to keep up with sometimes. The three of us sat around the hut all very exhausted. I sat myself down on a chair in the corner of the room, Clint was sitting on a stool with his head resting against his folded arms on the table next to him, it seemed like he was asleep. Jeff on the other hand had made himself comfortable on one of our operating tables.
“We should probably get some lunch before the others devour everything” Jeff said with a sigh, he seemed to hate his own idea of getting up. I groaned as I stood up from my seat, dragging myself over to Clint, shaking him gently “hey wake up buddy, we need to get some food” Clint rubbed his eyes before slowly pushing himself up from his seat. Though before any of us could even move a step, the doors were pushed open. Clint instantly flopping back into his chair, a tired and annoyed whine coming from him. I grabbed the Gigli saw off the tray of equipment, turning towards the door “what do you want?”
The two boys stopped in the doorway “woah put the bloody saw down, we only brought you some food” the three of us instantly perked up at Newts words. “Yeah we thought we'd bring you some food since you've been taking care of my guys all day” Gally sat down two trays of food on the table Jeff was sitting on while Newt handed the one he was holding to Jeff, who instantly started eating, though I couldn't blame him. I pick up one of the trays and handed it over to Clint before dragging a chair over to the table to start eating myself “well thank you boys, that's really sweet of you” Newt smiled at me as Gally ruffled my hair “don't mention it, figured you guys would need some rest, besides we're done for the day, to many broken hands” Gally shook his head and I wasn't quite sure if it was out of annoyances or disappointment.
“Well Gally and I will leave you three to rest, and don't worry we'll bring you some dinner too” Newt smiled at us before making his way out the door, quickly followed by Gally. A few moments of silence passed as we all ate before Clint spoke up “I still reckon we should start amputating”

Hello! I was wondering if I could send in a request - hcs/any other format, about what it's like being best friends with Newt Scammander? If it is possible, male reader would be awesome! Thank you in advance!
Tumblr media
being best friends with newt scamander would include…
the two of you meeting at hogwarts
you get sorted into the same house, and bunk together
newt would’ve been shy at first - he’s always been better with creatures than with people
but, much like his beloved companions, with enough patience and determination he would slowly start to trust you
he would spend all his time between the dorm and sneaking into the Forbidden Forest to find and care for magical creatures
you were slightly more social than him, and he found himself growing fond of you - he would look forward to your company and mope around the dorm when you weren’t there
the first time he let you into his briefcase was a turning point in your friendship. he gave you a sign of his devotion to you, and in return, he got to watch in awe as you treated his pride and joy with the utmost care and tenderness
soon, the two of you would spend countless hours tending to his creatures. you became his scribe, noting down his observations in records that would preserve and inform the wizarding community about these misunderstood creatures.
you’d get used to hearing yelps, groans, and muttered curse words, and would abandon your notebook to tend to his wounds, scolding him for being careless while the two of you knew that his big heart was his deepest treasure. his gift to the world.
whenever you had bad days, he would tenderly console you - his gentle voice and unassuming demeanour always the most soothing comfort for your troubled soul
the two of you would go on adventures together, within the briefcase, and eventually, you would encourage him to travel and share his gifts around the world
you would always be there by his side, his most devoted best friend

a/n: hello lovely! thank you for being my first newt scamander request, and my first headcanon request too! I figured that I’d give headcanons a go and we can see if it’s a miserable failure or a fun way for me to engage creatively that’s slightly lower pressure haha, thanks for taking a chance on me ☺️
thank you for your patience 🤍

You stand on the ledge of one of the Last City's walls with Newt, Gally and Thomas, overlooking the whole city. You fidget with your fingers, your body leaned up against the yellow railing. You run a hand over your freshly cut hair, feeling the slight breeze run through it.
You're unable to look out at the WCKD building, finding more serenity by looking at all the bright lights that dazzled against the dark sky. You feel a solemn type of peace as you look out across the city, although your close friend is still trapped behind those walls so many hundreds of feet away.
You look down, then loop your legs on the outside of the second horizontal rail, letting them dangle over the edge while you sit on that second rail. Your arms rest over the top rail, providing you safety next to your boyfriend.
As Gally and Thomas depart, leaving you two to catch up, Newt rests a hand on your back between your shoulders. He leans against the railing as well, looking at your dazed expression.
"You okay, love?"
You softly nod, looking up at the WCKD tower again.
"You sure?" He asks, "I know something else is on your mind, not just Minho"
You shrug, still silent.
He lightly sighs, trying to get you to look at him.
"You know you can talk to me, right?"
You nod again, giving him a little glance. The breeze sends a slight shiver up your spine, causing your cheeks, nose and lips to grow a little cold.
"Please talk to me, I'm here for you"
You shrug and look back down at your fidgeting fingers. "I dunno," you mumble. You pick at your nails, then begin to bite at them.
He gives you a knowing look, pleading you to open up. He reaches for your hand, pulling it away from your mouth.
"I don't feel like... normal. I know I'm not normal, but, like, I don't feel like a real boy. I'm not a real boy, but, like... I dunno." You shrug, your feet lightly kicking as they dangle from the ledge.
Newt softly places your hand back down on the railing and steps back. He wraps you in a hug from behind, resting his head on your left shoulder. "You are a real boy, okay? Gender is just a construct, you can be whatever you want to be, and I'll always be here to support you. You're my boyfriend, Y/n/n, alright? Is there anything I can do for you, or that you need from me?"
You shook your head no, leaning back into him as a sign of comfort and thanks.
"Why don't we catch up to Tommy and Gally, yeah?"
You nod, carefully untangling yourself from the railing as he awaits at the little entranceway behind you. He grabs your hand as you approach, sending you a soft smile as you quickly walk to catch up to your friends.
"I'm here for you, yeah?"
"Yeah"

Victory
Newt(TMR) x male reader
Prequel(?) to “Don’t Go”
Minor angst to Fluff I think?
Word Count: 1.35k
Tw: Normal Maze Runner stuff maybe more descriptors of violence, loss of hearing temporarily, maybe ooc
Tumblr media
Newt hadn’t seen it till it was too late and now he was fighting off a crank that had climbed on top of him waving its claws wildly and snarling at him. He terrified, fought back being careful to avoid being scratched or bit using the large rifle he had stolen from wicked as a shield as much to his misfortune had gotten jammed rendering it as his only weapon useless, utterly useless. And he was not ready to accept the fate that was to await him if he were to give up he still had to fight. But that wasn’t the main thought in his mind as his ears rang. The main thought was Where were you? If you were okay despite the odds were ok he would be fine with dying right there but with the group getting ambushed by a flood of cranks he feared that you had either been dead or infected and both of those images had been his worst fear. His thought of you being infected had started to now grow into a conviction he was so convinced you had to be infected at this point that he begged you had died instead at least then he wouldn’t have to watch your eyes slowly turn into a black void, dark blood spilling from your mouth, your veins showing off the changes, and worst of all, your beautiful mind withering away till you were an empty shell actually you wouldn’t be empty you would be so much worse filled with agony, hatred, and a violent nature that simply just didn’t belong to you. The thought of that made him more terrified than the crank he was fighting. And yet just at that second a swift blur in his confusion passed by his eyes the weight of the creature gone. So he scrambled to sit up only to see you on top of the crank, pinning its arms into the ground with your knees while your knife was held high above your head. Newt's eyes flashed with even more horror at the image, why were you being so so stupid why would you put yourself in this kind of peril for him, why were you willing to potentially die for him. He couldn’t understand actually with his fear cloudling his brain he wouldn’t understand the conviction of you being infected flashed across his eyes all over again. Your knife came down over and over black liquid spraying you with each violent stab into the cranks skull the dark substance dripping from the knife that shined ever so slightly the crank letting out screeches until it fell silent its struggling arms fell limp. You leaned back ever so slightly relieving the pressure on your knees. Dark coloured blood splattered across your face smeared along with dust and dirt as you climbed off the crank still remaining on your knees. Newt without thinking crawled? More like clamered on his knees towards you sliding at the last second ever so slightly before you.
“ You bloody shank! Why would you do that?” He practically yelled over the gunshots of the others, “ Why would you be that bloody stupid! People care about you, I care about you!”
You tilted your head in confusion at him but he didn’t appear to notice. He continued to “yell” as you watched his lips trying to make out with what he was saying. He almost completely forgot that he had practically confessed to you but that would be a problem for future him. Yet by the time he had stopped to take a sharp inhale and he refocused on you matching your confusion as he saw you staring confused and intensely at his mouth. He blushed a little at the immediate implication he had thought of, quite embarrassed with himself that his mind even remotely thought of that. You said something softly, too softly for him to hear over the screeches and gunfire. He looked at you in confusion moving his head closer, hinting he could not hear.
“ I CAN’T HEAR MY GUN BLEW OUT MY HEARING.” You shouted unable to control your volume due to your well lack of receiving volume. Newt slightly jumped back in surprise at your loudness, but quickly he nodded showing he understood what you had said.
He scrambled onto his feet, realising that the group had to move forward or else they would die there. He had then reached his hand out towards you, you in response stretched your hand up to rest in his before his fingers curled gentle enough not to hurt you but firm in which it would be hard to let go. Newt gave a sharp tug to reference you to stand, you stood up stumbling a tad trying to gather your bearings.
“ We have to get out of here, they will corner us.” Newt shouted at the rest, you had tried to read his lips only catching a word here and there as your hearing continued to be repressed. It would have sounded if you were underwater.
The other nodded and made affirmations in response. Newt looked at you trying his best to mouth something, you could make it out and he never would have even had to tell  you for you already did. The words “Trust Me” left his mouth and you nodded, why wouldn’t you he was the one you had so utterly cared for to the point where you had thrown yourself onto a crank for him. So yes you did trust him. He turned around reaching into his back pocket behind the aviator esc coat revealing a small handgun he had most definitely taken from WICKED. When? You had no clue but considering his other weapon was rendered useless you certainly weren’t complaining. He started to yell towards the rest who were still fighting against the ongoing swarms of cranks. There was a plan in play, a plan you didn’t know and that scared you but your ever going trust in the other male was clear so you squeezed his head lightly your version of a response. And soon you moved forward, Newt jogging to the best of his ability stayed at the front clearing the general path with the small handgun and never once letting go of your hand. While he was usually never the leader and often more times second in command the person who keeps everyone together you could see that he was more than suited to be a leader. Whether it was in his nature or he had picked it up from Alby no one there could deny his knack for leadership. To you he had seemed like a knight in shining armour, fearless. However his internal dialogue would prove otherwise, he was mortified at that second he was nearly shooting everything that moved and he was as flighty as bird. He held frantically onto your hand the warmth of your hand and the occasional squeeze here and there kept him grounded yet made him only further scared him. The constant reminder that you had been there and while not helpless you certainly weren’t in the most ideal situation.
He would’ve kept running if it wasn’t for Minho’s voice calling out to him he wouldn’t have stopped. He looked around a little too fast for someone who would appear to be safe and that's when he realised they had gotten out that they were safe. He looked back at you, both of you holding each other's hand just as tight, the sun lighting up your faces. A huge grin spread across your face and you laughed, you just laughed, your head threw back and you laughed and before Newt knew it he was laughing alongside you his toothy grin being revealed as he laughed. There were only two thoughts in his mind: you had survived and furthermore you were so bloody beautiful. And so he continued to smile and laugh as the others joined in celebrating your victory, he couldn’t tell if your hearing was back but for now he would just enjoy watching you celebrate.
