We had a great time in Timaru so decided we didn't want to rush home so we headed for Lake Tekapo and spent a day in the beautiful sunshine. It is a beautiful place and holds special childhood memories for me. We had a couple of holidays there when I was young. We even went to school there for a week and I first experienced real snow at Tekapo. The place has grown so much since we were last there it took me a while to get my bearings. We ate fabulous pizza by the lake and wandered the shops and the lake front before heading for home. Daughter texted us just as we were pondering dinner, she had a curry cooking, plenty for the whole whanau so we extended our trip just a tiny bit to enjoy a yummy dinner before heading home.
