Oh look, it seems everyone has been opted into the unfortunate "experiment" now. For everyone who has been blissfully using the old UI up until now, welcome to hell :)

Do you not like hell? Do you want to leave and crawl back up into the sunlight of the old UI? Well, have I got a link for you! A beautiful tumblr user (who is not me) has gone and fixed things beautifully for you already: https://github.com/enchanted-sword/dashboard-unfucker

You will need to have Tampermonkey installed on your browser of choice, and once that's done, just go to the github link above, and peruse the readme to install. And voila! You have your old dash back!

The authors of XKit Rewritten said during the experiments that at the time, since this was an "experiment" they weren't going to implement anything to revert to the old UI (although who knows if they'll do it now). And the dashboard unfucker has worked beautifully enough for me to where I genuinely couldn't tell if they had ended the experiment or not.

If you have an Apple product you need to hear this,

In the latest update Apple has added and insidious Ai to every single one of your apps

You will need to manually turn this off to stop Ai from using your apps as a learning base

First:

Head to settings and find the Apple Intelligence & Siri tab

Second:

if you scroll to the bottom of that tab you should find an option to see your apps and a separate option to see apps clips (these can be done in either order but I’ll explain clips first)

Third:

You should come to this screen with an option of “Learn from Apps Clips”, make sure to turn that off (if it’s green it’s still on)

Fourth:

Head back and click onto the apps section, this should bring you to a screen with all your apps

You’re going to have to click on every single one of your apps and turn it off manually (Apple has deliberately made it as tedious as possible in a way to discourage people doing this)

Fifth:

SHARE THIS INFORMATION!! either via my post or making your own,

Every uninformed person is another source of content for Ai to steal from, don’t let this undermine us

TLDR: I'm anxious and wanna talk to people more and make friends! Can you like or reply to this post if me reaching out to you frequently would be something you want, and not an annoyance or a bother? And now the ramble:

Hi! So I've been having a bit of a struggle-- I like talking to people, and socializing. Meeting new people is kinda like half the reason I even came back to tumblr to RP! So it's a huge important part of the whole experience for me. But--I'm pretty anxious among other things lol. So sometimes I have these brain-rules that might be making it harder than it should be? Like if I'm in a conversation and it dies and I was the last one to respond, sometimes I won't reach out after. Not because I don't want to talk to that person! I really really do! But it's because I'm still kinda-- in waiting-mode for a reply? Like it feels like it'd be rude or bothersome to keep messaging and pressuring someone to talk to me, if maybe they're just busy and will get back to me when they can. I have had conversations like that where the other person takes their time getting back and that's fine! I don't mind if our topic spans weeks or even months at any pace that works for both of us! It could be another reason for no reply too, like maybe because they found me annoying or uninteresting. And I don't want to be a bother to anyone! I just want to be friends and talk about muses and OCs and stuff! BUT I also super understand that things happen-- sometimes people get distracted away and forget to respond. Sometimes you thought you did but you didn't. Sometimes you forgot and by the time you remembered it felt like it was 'too late' to reply. Sometimes Life gets in the way. There's plenty of reasons things happen and i don't think that's a problem! I really still want to talk though, and I feel like waiting for a RP reply so i can talk in the tags or something... isn't conducive to making friends and connecting to others like I'd like to. It just isn't frequent enough, especially since if we're just beginning to meet, the muse for threads with me might not be super high! So in an effort to help curb my brain a bit, would anyone mind liking this post or replying (if you're like me and like to keep your likes clean of posts) if they're cool with me reaching out to them consistently? Like, it wouldn't be a bother at all, and they want me to? That way even if things go quiet, i have the assurance that I can keep poking to actually engage more and become friends without feeling like I'm forcing it or my anxieties getting in the way!

so kuragebunch (the website the manga is hosted on) is celebrating its 11th anniversary, and as part of the festivities all chapters of the japanese raws (except for ch. 51) are currently free to read until 10/28 11:59AM JST. i figured i'd take advantage of that and put together a chart of the first person pronouns and honorifics that the characters use in japanese. here it is as an image.

the characters have been divided into four categories: magmell (koutarou, minato, nagisa, shizuka, asahi, ran, haruno, ryou, natsuhiko/deputy director); the fishermen (shinya, okijirou/oki); the parents (kouyou, asumi, nagiko); and other (mahiro, naru, mikako, seira). a blank space means they have never directly referred to that character in conversation before, at least not by their name/title. multiple names/titles listed for a character means that all are used interchangeably unless indicated otherwise.

criteria for selecting characters was 1) having a full name, 2) having made at least two appearances*, and 3) having been featured on the cast page and/or having interacted with at least two other characters who already qualify. ex: seira counts because she was on the vol. 8 cast page and appears in ch. 30/32/40/41-42, naru counts because he's talked to both oki and shinya and appears in ch. 12/21/43, but ren and namikazu do not qualify.

*for the sake of convenience, "one" appearance can be defined as either a) showing up once in a single-chapter story or b) showing up in both chapters of a double-chapter story.

Even though I'm already seeing the anti-US sentiment growing here, I think it's very narrow sighted when the majority of you guys don't even agree with what your president is doing when it comes to Canada

You guys are just as much of a victim as we are in this situation - the people of California in particular. I'm so sorry.

I lived in the US for over 15 years myself growing up - and I know that despite all the social issues the country has, it has some truly wonderful people who absoutely do not deserve to go through what we all are right now.

been extra busy this last month so commissions and personal art have been slow - but one of my resolutions was to have a faster turnaround time this year, so once I get back home from my last 'holiday' vacation on Thursday I'll be back to work.

Guess Who's Back...

Okay, so I know that I have been active on here, but this month I'm officially "coming back" to writing and tumblr/my website etc. Baby girl is very happy and thriving, and I am... surviving 😅 I do have a surgery shortly pending, but we'll get into that another time.

After the results of my feedback form I put out to everyone (thank you for your input by the way!), I'm bringing with me some changes, so let's get into them, shall we?

Firstly, I am not planning on returning to work after my official maternity leave in work, and I'm hoping to make a full time career out of writing, whether that's fan fiction, original fiction or some other forms of commerical writing (or a nice healthy mixture). Which is both extremely daunting and incredibly exciting all at once!
