Chapter One: Setting The Scene
This is the first chapter of a fanfic im currently working on thats Alastor x Female Reader. You can find the whole thing on Wattpad, or I can continue to post here if yall want :)
Word Count 1,380
There is a general disclaimer for violence and mature themes that goes more in depth on Wattpad, might add it here later depending on if yall want me to keep posting chapters here too. And in case none of you have read a story like this (which I don’t think is many people) here is a guide on personal stuffs: - (Y/N): Your Name - (L/N): Your Last Name - (F/C): Favorite Color - (H/S): Hair Style; like Long Blonde, Short Red, Black Bobbed, etc. - (E/C): Eye Color - (S/C): Skin Color - (S/N): Stage Name. And with that, lets get on with it! Here is Chapter One: Setting The Scene
New Orleans, 1928 - Friday, 7:02pm
It's the Roaring Twenties all across the young America, glitz, glam, Jazz music, prohibition, sex, and good times were all around you. The smell of moisture in the air surrounding you as you walked to the Gentlemen's Club/Bar where you worked as an exotic dancer, going by (s/n). The sound of your heels clicking on the sidewalk, the glow of neon as you pass by stores, their glow illuminating your (s/c) skin. Your coat, long and to your ankles, is decorated with a fox pelt up top, keeping you both hidden and warm. As you approach the club you work at, the smell of liquor is present, and patrons who already had too much to drink were standing outside.
You sigh, getting ready to open the door to the backstage area to get ready for the night. It was Friday, so you were expecting lots of customers. After all, your club was one of the only ones with a rather steady supply of alcohol. As you step in, the smell of harsh perfumes and makeup overwhelm your nose, as you make your way to an empty mirror, you hear voices cheering from the main area, presumably from one of the other performers. as you sit down at the mirror, you dig through your bag to find your compact, outfits, perfume, and hair supplies. Not paying attention, a voice suddenly startles you.
"Hey (y/n)! I feel like I haven't seen you in ages!" One of your friends and fellow dancers almost ran up to you, almost tripping from excitement.
"Hey Maggie, I know, I had some business to take care of, wish I could've seen you more." You kept it short and low, nobody knew who you really were, they only knew you as top performer, and one that isn't seen very often.
"You always talk about this 'Business' of yours, what is it? Is is some secret society thing? You can tell me~" She leaned in close, looking at you side by side in the mirror.
No matter how much you want to trust her, you just can't say anything. You muster up a half hearted smile, and continued putting on makeup as Maggie sat next to you, talking your ear off. You almost wanted to tell her to buzz off, but you had been alone these past few days, and the company was nice in a way. A loud voice was heard, calling Maggie's stage name for her to go out next.
"Well shoot, guess I gotta go, talk to ya later (y/n)!" She bounced away, like she always did, heading for the stage, leaving you in the soft hum of the lights around you.
"Okay, now I can finally tame this mess of hair, where is my brush." You start gathering all your hair care items, getting ready to tame your (h/s) hair.
After about an hour of getting ready, you get dressed into your first outfit of the night, and sat waiting for your name to be called. And just as you think about it, there is is, the announcer calling your stage name. As you walk out, the smell of sweat, alcohol, smoke, and perfume once again flood your senses. Once halfway out, you scan and read the type of crowd it is tonight. Lots of young men, some older gentlemen, and some performers mingling with the crowd. You think to yourself "seems like an easy crowd, I'll go easy, and turn it up at the end of my last dance.". As the jazz begins to start, your body becoming one with the dance, making time go by faster. Whoops and claps erupt from the crowd, as you slowly expose more of your body, tips gathering at your feet, sweat dripping from your neck as you finish your routine.
As you prepare to leave the stage, a familiar face catches your eye. A younger gentlemen, sitting in a booth alone, sipping what looked to be whiskey. In the bright lights, it's hard to make out features, you did notice one thing; his smile. You could have sworn you've seen that face before, you aren't quite sure where though. Just as you turn to leave, you make eye contact with a few patrons, making them want more. The night has just begun, and you were about to make it yours to win.
~Time Skip - 3.5 Hours~
As you slip into your last outfit of the day, you hear the performer before you finish their routine. Getting up, you suddenly felt something was wrong, as if someone was watching you. You looked around, made sure the doors were locked, and tried to ignore the feeling. Shaking off the feeling, you made your way out to the stage for the final routine of the night. Most of the older men have left by this point, leaving less than sober young men up front and at the bar. You could tell they were all piss drunk, as they could barely sit in the chairs, let alone keep their eyes open. It didn't matter to you, you were here to make money, and this night was no different than the others. One last scan of the room, whoops and cat calls, claps and whistles encouraging you to come out faster. They were thirsty, drunk, and it was Friday, all the making of either a good night or something horrible.
"One last show, then I can leave. I still have that bad feeling though..." Thoughts flooding your mind as you begin to dance, now just wanting to be done and go home. You can't help but lock eyes with the same gentleman in the back, still unable to make out many features. Is he the reason you have the feeling?
As you dance, your (h/c) hair is shining in the light, the glitter on your skin is dancing, and tips are once again forming at your feet. Preforming you final moves, your signature splits always get the crowd going, swinging your knees to the front, you stop in a 'Come get Me' type of pose and face. As lights go out, you gather the tips and leave for the back for the last time. All of the other girls had left at this point, leaving your bag at the same mirror you had earlier that night. Gathering your belongings, you make sure to double check everything, since people have taken things before. As you slip your coat back on, you can't help but get that feeling again, unsure of where it was coming from.
Opening the door to leave, the crisp midnight air almost slaps you in the face, waking you up a little bit. Just like before, the now silent street has an eerie yet peaceful vibe, as the only sound to be heard is the clicking of heels as you walk. "That feeling, what was it from? I didn't see anyone suspicious at the club, and nobody else is around. Maybe it's just from being away for so long." As you think about the night and how it went, you unlock the door to your apartment. Same beige walls, same flat bed, same loneliness. Nothing has changed. Locking the door behind you, your body succumbs to the soreness, making you plop onto your bed face first. You look over the the photos on your nightstand, your brother, mother, father and you all smiling for a picture. The only time everyone was truly happy.
"Just another day. Tomorrow will be the same, and the next day. When will all of this end." You start talking to yourself, trying to fill the silence of the room. Feeling the sweat now dried onto your skin, you decide to take a shower, wanting to wash away the sins and feelings you had that night. Stripping your clothing and tossing it into the hamper, you sigh as the cold tiles touch your feet. Getting into the water, you feel all your worries wash away, as you get lost in your mind, getting away from reality for a few seconds.
Clean, tired, and sore, you cuddle into your (f/c) blanket your mother once made you, giving you the comfort to close your eyes and fall asleep, waiting for the next day to come.

Despite the dark grey colour of Kat's hair, has the same/similar fluffy shape to "hairstyle" as Angel Dust
Eyes:
Kat, despite her entire body being cat-like, the only thing that resembles to a spider is both her six of her eyes (besides the ones she can see out of) that look like freckles and open up when incredibly angry
Similar to her sister she also has the same sclera colour as both Luster & Angel Dust whilst her left eye is normal looking with a golden greenish/yellow hue added to it
Significant markings:
Kat has dusty pink hearts (representation Angel Dust) all over her body: legs, wings, inside of her ears, chest, and tail. However she also does have lines across her wings that is a slightly darker peachy colour (much like Husk except the colour)

Radfems: “I think sex work should be illegal! That will stop rape and sex trafficking!”
What ACTUALLY happens when sex work is illegal:
Alaska
“One of [the police officers] put his hand up my skirt and ripped my underwear off. He slammed me down on the car, he injured me. Um, left me with some broken fingertips, broken toes, fractured cheekbone... I was bleeding, I had my skirt ripped... people were just mortified because they'd seen a teenage girl get assaulted by a police officer..”.— study respondent
Baltimore
“Prior to the DOJ investigation, an internal investigation by the BCPD found an officer receiving sex from a sex worker in exchange for money and immunity from arrest. The case was closed without any attempt to gather more evidence, interview the police officer, or prosecute the officer. Cases were opened for the same officer a second and third time for the same offense. The witness for the third case died before she could be interviewed, and only then did the BCPD review the officer's phone records and discover that he had sent sexually explicit messages to a number of female sex workers. The officer was allowed to retire. The DOJ found similar cases involving other officers.”
Chicago
“I was solicited by a police officer who said that if I had sex with him he wouldn't arrest me. So I did. Then afterwards he cuffed me and pressed charges anyway.“
“I was going to meet a new john, it turned out to be a sting set up by the cops. He got violent with me, handcuffed me and then raped me. He cleaned me up for the police station and I got sentenced to four months in jail for prostitution.”
“I keep being arrested in Rogers Park just for standing still. They keep taking me in for prostitution even though I'm not doing anything at all. It's the same white cop doing it too.”
“When being held in protective custody [because they said I was a victim of human trafficking] they started withholding my sheets, then towels, then pillows, then food because they said I wasn't telling them everything I could—when in fact I was.”
(Claiming non trafficking victims are actually trafficking victims as justification for abusing them - Hey, radfems, the police are stealing your tactics!)
“Twenty four percent of street-based sex workers had been raped by a police officer. Twenty percent had experienced other sexual assault from police officers. Women doing survival sex and women in drug houses experienced a lot of violence from police. Thirty percent of exotic dancers who had been raped were raped by police, and twenty percent of the sexual violence they experienced was committed by police. Twenty five percent of escorts had been robbed by a police officer. Eighteen percent of escorts had been forced to masturbate a police officer.”
Las Vegas
“One respondent was given the choice between arrest and doing something "disgusting". She wouldn't tell the researcher what she was asked to do, but she told the other police officers at the station about it and they laughed at her.
A respondent was asked by an officer to show her breasts in order to avoid arrest. Another respondent had charges dropped because of police misconduct; the officer who arrested her had her perform oral sex on him.”
Miami
“One respondent was arrested because she refused to have sex with the officers who arrested her. Another was asked by an officer for sex, but she was afraid it was a set up and said no.”
New Orleans
“Survey respondents said that police profiled transgender people as sex workers and subjected them to verbal abuse and sexual misconduct, including demands for sex in exchange for leniency. Police were arresting people for solicitation if they carried condoms. Even trans sex workers who weren't arrested for carrying condoms saw it happen to others and where afraid to carry condoms. Some police officers used possession of condoms to coerce trans sex workers into providing free sexual services.
People who tested positive for HIV while in jail were visited by an HIV task force that scheduled appointments at a clinic. However, many people were rearrested before their scheduled appointment. One woman was arrested ten times in three years, preventing her from going to any scheduled appointments to receive care for her HIV infection during that period. Jail interrupts taking medication on a regular basis.”
(I know radfems don’t care about trans people though. Y’all are definitely celebrating the New Orleans situation as a success.)
New York City
“Examples of police language: bitch ho slut you're not dead yet? we gotta go clean up the trash why should we help you?”
(Again, I know radfems approve of this. This is how they talk to me.)
Police raped me a couple of times in Queens. The last time that happened was a couple of months ago. But you don't tell anybody. You just deal wit it.— nineteen year old female
“Police officers propositioned underage youth and made lewd comments. Most female youth in the study reported trading sex to avoid arrest. Pimps were not arrested or received less jail time than the youth that worked with them, even when one of the youths was identified as fourteen years old.”
Thirty percent of the respondents reported threats of violence from the police, and twenty seven percent reported experiencing violence. One respondent said "I've seen cops get out of a car and beat a girl, and then get back in the car and leave." Another said that her greatest fear during arrest was "not coming home at all." The white woman from the Bronx said "... they throw you on the floor and they step on you..."
Another respondent reported seeing officers injure a women in the pelvic area to prevent her from working. “... it was like he was squeezing a handball or something, but really really hard... it was two guys in a car and they drove up on the sidewalk. He pushed her against the wall and then he pushed her against the wall after he finished that and then he said "now get off the street"...-respondent
“One likes to beat me now and then, or he wants me to suck his dick. I mean, it's crazy. He hits me with his gun and gives me these marks on my legs and my back. I don't know what to do...I can't call the other cops. I did that once and they asked this guy to stop beating me. But he got so mad that he came around and beat me up even worse. So I really have to get out of here. Now he wants me to give him 25% of what I make...I had to go to the hospital because I got beat so bad. — respondent
San Francisco
“4% of respondents described being threatened with arrest unless they had sex with a police officer. 8% said they were arrested after having sex with a police officer. 5% said they were arrested after refusing to have sex with a police officer. 40% of interactions with police officers during the previous three months were bad or very bad.”
Washington DC
38.5% of survey respondents reported being humiliated or verbally abused by police during relatively minor interactions such as checking ID. One respondent said the officer called her a whore, prostitute, and trick. During 8.6% of these interactions, officers confiscated or destroyed safe sex supplies, including condoms. 17.3% of respondents said that police-initiated interactions involved the officer asking for sexual services, or demanding sexual services to avoid arrest. 9.1% of respondents reported being assaulted by police officers. 3 respondents reported strip searches.
Seventy eight respondents were profiled as sex workers and ordered to "move along." The most common result of this was that they ended up in an area where they felt less safe.
75% of trans people and 82.4% of Latinos said they were treated worse than others when they were in lock up.
When the survey respondents initiated contact with the police, usually to report a crime, in a number of cases the police tried to have sex with them. This seemed to be particularly true of trans Latinas.
Studies not limited to certain areas
“Police abuse of sex workers includes verbal insults, coerced sex, brutal beatings, and rape. When police know that a woman is a sex worker, they may harass her when she is not working. The most common abuses are verbal abuse and threats to arrest sex workers if the police don't receive sexual services. Police often assume that sex workers don't care who they will have sex with and will do anything to avoid arrest. But experienced street-based sex workers often refuse to provide free services. They are resigned to frequent arrests, including arrests for questionable charges. What they want to avoid are fear and indignity forced on them by bad officers.“
“During arrest or taking someone into custody, police often degrade or humiliate sex workers, including removing wigs or clothing, confiscating or destroying property, making homophobic, anti-transgender, and racists slurs, and engaging on sexual harassment. Organizations working with sex workers have documented a pattern of police practice that includes assault, sexual harassment, public strip searches for the purpose of viewing genitalia, and rape. This pattern of practice is supported by the difficulty or impossibility of obtaining justice in these cases.”
“When sex workers try to report crimes against them, officers don't take their complaints seriously, refuse to file a report, and may arrest them, physically assault them, or pressure them for sex. When a sex worker tried to bring charges against a security guard who handcuffed and raped her, the police referred to the guard as "a big teddy bear", and added exculpatory statements to her report that she didn't make. This refusal to deal with crimes against sex workers leads serial killers to target sex workers and people profiled as sex workers.”
“Six of the twelve women who had been trafficking victims left their trafficking situation without help from law enforcement, through the help of a coworker or an attorney they met through a coworker or friend. Nationwide, it appears that the majority of trafficking victims escape without the involvement of law enforcement. One supervisor in a national organization said that 90% of their cases were not produced by raids or identified by law enforcement.”
Of the six trafficking victims picked up in law enforcement raids, one would have left her situation in a few days if she had not been picked up in a raid and arrested. As a result of the raid, she was pistol-whipped by a police officer and incarcerated.
Her conclusion: “A better way to help leave my situation would be anything that didn't involve the police.”
#feminism#radical feminism#radfem#swerf#radical feminist#but all of this is really common knowledge to anyone ACTUALLY involved in sex work#or ACTUALLY involved in helping us#radfems want sex work to be illegal because they support us being treated this way#after all they don't care how sex work is stopped as long as it is stopped#us being too afraid to leave our homes cuts down on sex work numbers#us being too injured or dead to have sex cuts down on sex work numbers#they don't want us to happily leave sex work#they want us punished for ever being a sex worker at all

“Justice Speaks,” vol. 5, issue 001
100 copies of this issue were left on the table in front of the library’s noticeboard Time: 6.20am
My dear readers, today I woke up late, at 6am. I had spent the entire evening finalizing our first issue of the semester. As my more dedicated readers may know, I have recently become concerned about the town lore, and thus this volume must reflect that. While I am quite certain about my research on the lore, there are bigger things at stake here, such as drama and gossip. So, let’s dive in.
TOWN NEWS:
A protest against the Vietnam draft is scheduled to take place this Friday, September 18th at noon in Baker Hall’s courtyard. All attendees are encouraged to bring signs. This protest is organized by le Troadec’s Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).
This Saturday at 9pm, Topped Off is hosting a slam poetry evening. Entry is free and all participants get free coffee. Please go read your terrible haikus you wrote in your 100-level English course, I need a good laugh.
The parks department would like to remind all students that swimming in the Bayou is prohibited and that you will get eaten by an alligator. Again, it would be great for me if you did the opposite of what they said. Don’t let them impede your free speech! It’s your right to get eaten by an alligator.
GLOBAL NEWS:
The Beatles made waves last Friday by refusing to play in Alabama if their concert was segregated. As much as I hate the British, I would like to commend them for refusing to give into the South’s unbridled racism. That being said, they are scheduled to play TOMORROW in New Orleans and are coming from Cleveland, so there just might be a chance we’ll be seeing them driving through our own little town - keep an eye out.
Last Tuesday, Walter Ulbricht, leader of East Germany, allowed for elderly East Germans to cross the border and visit relatives in West Germany. We can imagine this is nothing but good news for our own geriatric East German, Dr. Dominick König.
Passed this summer, the Civil Rights Act finally went into effect for schools this past week, which had many opening their doors for the first time to an integrated student body.
I would like to remind all students of voting age to register now, as the election is only two months away! Check in with the SNCC to learn how to do so, and don’t forget to vote LBJ.
ACCORDING TO SOURCES:
While I cannot confirm these, I cannot deny them either. I just believe they are good enough to print, as always, if you’re mad about it, just put the newsletter down. It’s that easy.
Meredith Locke is the first cousin of Nikita Khruschev, leader of the Soviet Union.
How exactly did Dan Mercier get into le Troadec? Well, it wasn’t by test scores. His parents bought his way in.
The university’s current dean, Clarence Weinzapfel, is a closeted homosexual. I would say power to him, but we all remember how he shut down the gay rights protest last year.
Eros Illiades is a draft dodger; he submitted fake medical records in order to avoid being sent to Vietnam.
Emmett Clermont regularly abuses tranquilizers and spent one year of his youth at a rehabilitation center in central Montana.
Anyone notice how Charlotte Broussard wasn’t present in theology yesterday? That’s because she’s been booked on charges of conspiring to commit domestic terrorism. On top of that, she’s in a lesbian relationship with her roommate, Eve Hansen.
Sister Carlene, head nun, used to be an exotic dancer in New Orleans. I can confirm this one, this rumor was submitted with photographs that I have omitted for feminist reasons.
Natalia de Leon is currently taking antibiotics for a yeast infection she gained from having sex in S.L.U.G. Better luck next time.
and what I know all of you damn try hards with no lives have been waiting for...
UPPERCLASSMEN RANKINGS
Due to this being a new volume, I would like to let all new readers know that this is 100% accurate information, as I have an informant in the administration.
Emmett Clermont, 3rd year Philosophy + Meredith Locke, 3rd year History (a tie!)
Charlotte Broussard, 3rd year PoliSci
Jonathan Shimony, 4th year Engineering
Acacia Buchanan, 4th year PoliSci
and of course, closely following: Park Dae-Jung, Leonard Ramone, Natalia de Leon, Rue Pickens.
JUSTICE REPORTING
If you followed my paper over the summer, you will already be caught up with my research on the town’s mythos. However, if you’re a freshman or someone who isn’t a resident, you likely weren’t reading. So here’s my weeks update:
I still believe that the town legend of witches returning to walk the earth is based in fact. As I uncovered, witches truly were executed in Lucrece and there was a mysterious emigration among a large percentage of female residents immediately following. While I thought perhaps the day of reckoning would be in the future, I now believe that it is upon us right now. Has everyone else felt a shift in the air? Astrologically speaking, 1964 is not a good year for our town. Signs point to major upheaval. Perhaps this has to do with the Vietnam War, but reported sightings of spirits in the Bayou have gone up this summer.
As the full moon on the 21st gets closer, I recommend everyone wear some piece of silver jewelry and avoid walking alone at night.
AND LASTLY...
At the start of the term, I received a rather odd letter in my mailbox. It was the first direct interaction the administration has made with me, and I feel compelled to share its contents.
To the writer and publisher of “Justice Speaks,” Your circus has gone on long enough. The university has endured five semesters worth of libel from your publication. Your remarks on the university’s administration as well as the United States government could constitute as treason. Your so-called dedication to “justice” and “truth” is anything but that! You regularly publish rumors without evidence, as well as the class ratings that we have no idea how you’ve obtained them. There is clearly crime at hand here and we, as a university, are urging you to quit before you get into real legal trouble. Should you continue publishing, we will uncover your identity, you will be expelled, and referred to the police. Sincerely, Dean Clarence Weinzapfel
Well, Clarence, it’s been five long semesters and you haven’t found me yet! Here’s my response: get bent.
Have thoughts on the newsletter? Drop a note in my mailbox.

How Many Log Cabin Republicans Are There

How Many Log Cabin Republicans Are There
Nbc Outtrump Supporters In Battleground States Largely Favor Lgbtq Rights Poll Finds
Asked about Trump’s attitude toward the LGBTQ community, Kabel offered a series of well-rehearsed talking points: Trump is “the most gay-friendly president,” same-sex marriage is settled law, Trump-nominated Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote the pro-LGBTQ decision in Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia, and the administration is doing great work on HIV/AIDS.
As an example of how “the press doesn’t give him a break,” Kabel cited the administration’s partnership with Gilead Sciences Inc. and pharmacies, including CVS and Walgreens, to provide and distribute HIV-prevention medication to targeted communities.
“He never got credit for it,” Kabel said. “The LGBT organizations thank Walgreens and CVS and, of course, intentionally forgot to mention Trump actually made this happen.”
In June, Trump declared that the same scientific know-how that produced an AIDS vaccine would deliver one soon for Covid-19, even though there is no AIDS vaccine.
Kabel said he wishes the Republican National Committee would have met this year to update the party’s official platform, which still states at least five times that marriage should exclusively be a union of “one man and one woman.” But he said he’s not worried about a backslide on LGBTQ rights.
“The social conservatives understand that we’ve won on marriage,” he said. “They’ve lost, we’ve won, and I think they really play it down now.”
Back Into The Wider World
After Bakers speech, the groups first female chairman, Sarah Longwell, announced the afterparty was at Nellies, a popular gay/sports bar with a weekend drag-queen brunch. You boys enjoy yourselves, she said, Ive got kids at home. Someone appeared in a skin-tight Make America Great Again dress and posed for photos in front of the Log Cabin logo with the dress designer; they were the most exotically outfitted attendees:
Online, Democratic critics unsheathed their knives. Your org has accomplished nothing in 40 fucking years as the GOP has gone from bad to worse to Trump on your watch, the activist and advice columnist Dan Savage wrote in response to a cheery tweet from Angelo celebrating the night. Go fuck yourselves Log Cabin Republicans, Savage wrote.
At the Mayflower, after a few minutes of post-speech networking chatter, much of the room cleared out.
Outside the grand ballroom two women in pantsuits walked down the wide marble hallway from the party. They casually held hands for a moment, then unclasped as they approached the crowded lobby.
Next to the front door stood a group of men in well-cut suits in shades of charcoal. It was impossible to tell if they were they from the Log Cabin event or part of the Mayflowers regular carousel of business guests.
And that, the Log Cabin Republicans would tell you, is exactly the point.
Sarah Longwell: Donald Trump Is Not A Republican Or A Conservative
Longwell insisted that she still holds traditional Republican beliefs, including “restraint from the executive branch fiscal responsibility and American leadership in the world where we treat our allies with respect.”
The problem with Trump isn’t a gay issue, she said; rather, it’s an American issue.
I think Donald Trump is an existential threat to democracy and the country, because the rules dont apply to him, said Longwell, 40. He thinks hes above the law.
She blames the president for disregarding the Constitution, cozying up to dictators and putting his own interests first, and said she is frustrated that the GOP has stood by him.
“Republicans should be a party that cares about principles and ideas, not its loyalty to one man,” she said.
She said she’ll be voting for Biden, whom she calls a centrist. “He has a message of unity, not division.”
Other LGBTQ Republicans, like Williams, straddle the line. Asked whether she’ll be voting for Trump, she tactfully replied, “The jury is still out.”
“Since New Jersey is not in play, I’ve been trying to focus on more of our down-ballot candidates who’ve sought my support and my counsel on reaching voters,” she said.
Log Cabin Republicans And Goproud Struggle For Future Of Lgbt People In The Gop Party
The night before the Republican National Convention began in Tampa last month, a group of gay Republicans sipped wine and ate crab cakes at the Rusty Pelican, a white-tablecloth establishment with massive fireplaces and sweeping bay views. Defying the widespread perception that the Republican party is more actively opposed to gay rights than ever, R. Clarke Cooper, the 41-year-old director of the Log Cabin Republicans, told the gathering that gays are not just an insular group in the party, were an integral part of the party. Like other fetes around town that week, the reception was dominated by clean-cut white men who looked like consultants with practiced golf swings. Women and minorities were as rare a sight as unpleated pants.
Log Cabin, a Republican fixture since the late 70s, defines its mission as building a stronger, more inclusive Republican Party by lobbying for same-sex marriage, anti-discrimination laws, and other gay causes. With 44 chapters and more than 45,000 members, it has become the closest thing there is in the gay Republican scene to the establishment. Its nemesis and counterpart is the three-year-old GOProud, the only other national organization for gay Republicans. While Log Cabins white-wine affair at the Rusty Pelican was designed to appeal to the old-school Republican country-club set, GOProuds event, dubbed Homocon, featured male go-go dancers in skin-tight Freedom is Fabulous belly-tees.
REPUBLICANS FROM THE GET-GO
Jonathan Hoffman: Log Cabin Republicans A Model For Politics
Save
The following column is the opinion and analysis of the writer.
It seems as if our political contests have become more like warfare than debates these days. The increase in identity politics has lead to some political parties becoming more like tribes defined by ethnicity, race or sexual orientation, rather than parties defined by philosophy or principles. As such, there is no place for cooperation or compromise, just a question of who will prevail.
The other day I was wondering if there was some group that, by example, demonstrates that it need not be that way. I then heard someone mention the Log Cabin Republicans, and I thought, Yeah, those guys.
Who are the LCR people?
Let us begin with a little history. In the late 1970s, gay Americans were becoming more accepted in the broader culture. This prompted a backlash. States began banning gay people from teaching in public schools. The California version of this was a ballot initiative championed by a state legislator named John Briggs. The Briggs Initiative, as it was called, had overwhelming support and looked like a done deal.
I spoke with my friend Bill Beard, a gay Republican who served as chairman of the Pima County Republican Party and is active in LCR. I asked him about endorsements. He told me that the local chapter endorsed all three Republicans for Tucson City Council, and made no formal endorsement for mayor.
Thats why I thought, Yeah, those guys.

Trans Rights: A Perplexing Issue
Like many other gay conservatives, however, he seems to disconnect gay rights and transgender rights. Kabel recalled a recent article with a quotation from the conservative activist Tony Perkins that contrasted the Democratic and Republican platforms in 2016.
“The only issue Perkins raised was the transgender bathroom issue,” Kabel said. “And I thought, ‘That means we won.'”
Kabel called transgender equality “one of the most perplexing issues going.”
“Transgender people deserve support and protection just like anybody else, but it’s a very complex issue,” he said. “It’s remarkable when you hear their stories, but it’s just a very perplexing issue about how to really address it and do it so that they’re protected but other people aren’t hurt, so that people’s religious views are actually taken into consideration.”
Transgender visibility is all but absent in the Log Cabin Republicans, from their leadership to their messaging.
An OUTSpoken Instagram post compares the LGBT left to the LGBT right by putting an image of a person who appears to be transgender or gender-nonconforming next to a shirtless picture of former U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock, while the campaigns store sells T-shirts bearing slogans like “gay for Tucker” “gay for Melania” and “gay not stupid.
OUTspoken sent Brokeback Patriot, who has stated trans women are not women, to New Orleans Southern Decadence party to ask passersby if they think Trump is pro-gay.
Burning During The War Of 1812
On August 2425, 1814, in a raid known as the , British forces invaded the capital during the . The , , and were burned and gutted during the attack. Most government buildings were repaired quickly; however, the Capitol was largely under construction at the time and was not completed in its current form until 1868.

Nbc Outcourt Orders Idaho To Provide Gender Surgery For Trans Inmate
Despite the backlash to the Trump endorsement, Charles Moran, the groups national spokesperson, told NBC News the group has no plans to rescind its support for the president as it was a universal decision determined by the board of directors and chapters.
When asked whether Henry was involved in the endorsement decision, Moran said he could not speak to that as he was not on the phone call during her resignation but that he and the board thank her for her service to the Log Cabin Republicans.
Henrys departure comes just weeks before the groups Sept. 17 Spirit of Lincoln reception in D.C. The annual event has typically included a dinner and reception featuring high-profile Republican attendees, but this year there will only be a reception.
Were seeing a lot of what I thought would happen: A lot of prominent leaders are leaving the group, Evans told NBC News. We need a Republican group that advocates for LGBTQ issues, but the Log Cabin Republicans have sent the message that this is not their priority.
Log Cabin Republicans Endorse Trump
The Log Cabin Republicans endorsed President Trump
The group said its national board of directors voted to endorse Trump after consulting with its chapters across the country.
Log Cabin Republicans Chairman Robert Kabel and Vice Chairwoman Jill Homan argued in a Washington Post op-ed on Friday that Trump has helped remove LGBTQ rights as a wedge issue in the GOP, citing his administration’s policies on ending the spread of HIV/AIDS as well as his push to get other countries to conform to modern human rights standards.
The leaders also cited Trump’s appointment of Richard Grenell, who is openly gay, as U.S. ambassador to Germany.
“While we do not agree with every policy or platform position presented by the White House or the Republican Party, we share a commitment to individual responsibility, personal freedom and a strong national defense,” Kabel and Homan wrote.
The move marks a reversal after the group refused to endorse Trump in 2016, citing him surrounding himself with advisers “with a record of opposing LGBT equality,” as well as his support of the First Amendment Defense Act, which would block the federal government from taking adverse action against people based on their beliefs about marriage.
The group said in 2016 that they would welcome the opportunity to work with him on LGBTQ issues.
The president has also come under fire for the views of Vice President Pence, who has opposed legalizing same-sex marriage, citing his Christian faith.
Log Cabin Republican Quits After The Group Endorses Trump’s Re
Prior to Henry’s resignation, Casey Pick, who served as the programs director for the Log Cabin Republicans from 2010 to 2013, wrote in a Facebook post that even though she began distancing herself from the group after the 2012 election, she decided to give it another chance after Henry was brought on board as executive director.
I was hopeful that despite watching the organizations slide toward Trump apologism under Gregory T. Angelo , their hiring a skilled and principled operative like Henry meant the organization would finally be able to again be a conscience this party needs, Pick wrote on Aug. 15, the same day the group endorsed Trump. I publicly celebrated her hiring, and encouraged my peers in the LGBT advocacy community to give LCR another shot, knowing that a vibrant and effective Log Cabin could be a godsend during a Trump/Pence administration.
Yet, Pick said, Henrys hands have been tied and instead of espousing a progressive mission, the group increasingly fulfills the stereotypes that used to be hurled at Log Cabin Republicans: overwhelmingly gay men who are indifferent to the experiences of women, transgender Americans or LGBT people who lack the financial or social resources to protect them from the discrimination that they so often deny even exists.
“Don’t call me a Log Cabin Republican,” she wrote at the conclusion of her post.

How Groups Get Approved By Cpac Including Massresistance
MassResistance registered for a table at CPAC on January 8, six weeks before the conference. We were told that the approval process could take 5-7 working days, but to go ahead and make airline and hotel reservations, etc. anyway.
We waited two weeks with no answer. Then on Jan. 24 a conference call was set up to discuss your organization and your plans for CPAC. It was with CPACs events coordinator and Dan Schneider, the Executive Director. He said he had never heard of MassResistance.
We described the history of MassResistance and the kind of activism we do. We were very up-front about our plans for CPAC. We were going to promote our book, The Health Hazards of Homosexuality, and similar materials. We told Schneider we believe that CPACs large constituency of younger people had not been sufficiently exposed to the pro-family message, and he agreed. He said he would like pro-family groups to come to CPAC.
Schneider said that there are four criteria for a group to be approved:
The applicant organization must stand for at least one conservative/right-of-center proposition
The applicant organization must not exist primarily for a liberal purpose
The applicant organization must be legitimate
The applicant organization cannot be disrespectful of either ACU or CPAC
We told him that it was hard to believe that the Log Cabin Republicans would pass this since they clearly exist to homosexualize the Republican Party and push the LGBT agenda in government and society.
Working For Lgbt Americans
In 2019, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced that pharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences Inc., would donate pre-exposure prophylaxis medication for uninsured, high-risk HIV individuals.
As part of the president’s Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America initiative, this medication, which could run up to as much as $20,000 per patient, per year, would be distributed to up to 200,000 individuals each year through at least Dec. 31, 2025.
The Trump plan is focused on communities most in need and has received support from those who have been involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
In similar fashion, Trump announced during Pride Month in 2019 that his administration was launching a global campaign to end the criminalization of homosexuality. His leadership on this issue couldnt be more necessary even in 2020, 72 countries still identify same-sexual orientation as criminal, including eight where it is punishable by death.
This campaign was spearheaded by former U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, an openly gay member of the administration who subsequently served as acting director of U.S. national intelligence, becoming the first openly gay Cabinet member in our history. In coordination with the United Nations, the European Union and other human rights organizations, the campaigns goal is to pressure nations into ending homophobic laws, securing the safety and freedom of all LGBT individuals throughout the world.
Who Are The Log Cabin Republicans
The Log Cabin Republicans are a political organization founded in the 1970s that identifies themselves as staunchly Republican, with a twist. Members of the Log Cabin Republicans are strong activists for many Republican values, the idea of free markets, limited government and lower taxation, especially of high earners and corporations. They especially support privacy, and identify most with President Lincoln, one of the most identifiable presidents, who was born in a log cabin. They identify with Lincolns Republican party at that time, which could definitely be considered the more liberal of the two parties, especially in Lincolns signing of the emancipation proclamation and his promotion of civil rights for all.
This issue is extremely important to Log Cabin Republicans because most members identify themselves as gay or lesbian, or in support of equal rights for gays or lesbians. While a number of lesbians, gays, bisexual and transgender folks identify more strongly with the Democratic party, many members of the Log Cabin Republicans find themselves out of step with the Democrats on many issues. Their political ideas are more aligned with those of the Republican party, and thus since the 1970s the LCRs have become an important part of the political process in avidly supporting non-discrimination of the LGBT community, promoting greater funds for AIDs research, and supporting measures like the right for individuals to marry others of their choosing.
Nbc Outover 500 Lgbtq Candidates To Appear On November Ballots Shattering Records
Williams, chair of the Republican Committee in Trenton, New Jersey, agrees that some LGBTQ Republicans choose to look past certain statements or policies especially cisgender members.
LGBTQ “people who are voting for the president are most likely not going to be transgender, because we’ve been the target and the butt of most of the administration’s actions,” she said.
According to the GLAAD poll, however, 19 percent of trans and nonbinary registered voters were supporting Trump more than either gay men or lesbians .
This Former Log Cabin Republican Is On A Mission To Stop Trump
Sarah Longwell says Trump threatens the GOP but, more importantly, democracy itself.
Back in the day , when I worked on Capitol Hill, I met my very first boyfriend. Kurt was from Paducah, Ky., and worked for a fairly moderate Republican at the time, a senator named Mitch McConnell.
We were both in the closet, and I would pick Kurt up in my car at discrete locations. We never really spoke about politics, because it really didnt matter. The only thing I vaguely recall him telling me about McConnell was that they put lipstick on him for TV appearances since his mouth is like a knife slash.
And, one of my best drinking buddies during that period, worked um, lets say toiled for then-Rep. Rick Santorum. I only knew that Santorum was an absolute jerk because I sat next to him at a dinner on the Hill one night and witnessed his rude and obnoxious behavior. He was childishly upset about getting the right dinner rolls. But again, with Will, there was never any talk about politics. We just had a good time over lots and lots of beers.
Thats the way it was then in Congress. You had friends across party lines, and anyone who was virulently political was usually also friendless.
Sarah Longwell also worked for Rick Santorum back in the in mid 1990s, going on a tour with Senator Santorum to help promote his book, It Takes a Family. She was coming out as a lesbian at the time and eventually quit Santorum, who she considered the most visibly antigay politician in the country.
Nbc Outtrump Applauds Poll Showing 45 Percent Support Among Gay Men
Kazmierczak called Trump a staunch supporter of gay people and their rights, but he said he makes a distinction when it comes to religious groups.
“He doesn’t want gay rights forced on religious institutions,” Kazmierczak said. “It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t support gay people. It means that to him, religious freedom is more important than social issues.”
Trump made a halfhearted effort to court the LGBTQ community in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election. He called the massacre of 49 mostly LGBTQ people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, that year an “assault on the ability of free people to live their lives, love who they want and express their identity.”
At the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Trump swore “to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology.”
And two days before Election Day, he grabbed an upside-down Pride flag inscribed with “LGBT for Trump” at a rally in Colorado and waved it around.
Once in office, however, Trump has consistently opposed LGBTQ rights from rolling back Obama-era nondiscrimination protections to banning openly transgender service members in the military. The national LGBTQ rights group GLAAD has accused the Trump administration of 181 separate attacks on the community since his inauguration.
For Rogers, Trumps bona fides with the community arent so important.
Many gay Trump supporters say they’re tired of being told what political views are acceptable.
While Democrats Take The Lesbian And Gay Community For Granted Donald Trump’s Republican Party Is Delivering Real Results
Democrats are using their convention this week to tout their agenda for the next four years, including their promise to stand up for the lesbian and gay community. For years, Democratic Party leaders have taken for granted the lesbian and gay community along with other minority communities thinking they had no where else to turn. Those days are over.
I’ve fought for civil rights for gay Americans for the past four decades. Today, the Republican Party is delivering real results and leadership for our community:
It hasnt always been this way. For years, the GOP generally stood against the inclusion of gay and lesbian conservatives. As one of the Republican National Committee’s first openly gay members, and a longtime leader of Log Cabin Republicans, I’ve worked tirelessly alongside many friends and colleagues to pull the party into the future. Today, thanks in large part to the leadership of President Donald Trump, the party has delivered meaningful policy victories for gays and lesbians.
He didnt abandon these principles when he assumed his position behind the Resolute Desk.
Nbc Outsan Francisco Police Chief Apologizes To Lgbtq Community
Evans announced her own departure from the Log Cabin Republicans last Monday in a scathing op-ed for LGBTQ magazine The Advocate. Jennifer Horn, a former board member, and Robert Turner, the former president of the group’s Washington, D.C., chapter, also denounced the Trump endorsement and left the group last week.
Notably, Henrys name did not appear alongside those of board members Robert Kabel and Jill Homan in a Washington Post Op-Ed this month announcing the group’s endorsement of Trump. The Log Cabin Republicans declined to endorse Trump in 2016.
In the endorsement, Kabel and Homan cited Trumps commitment to end HIV/AIDS in 10 years, which was met both with cautious optimism and flat-out skepticism, and his work with Richard Grenell, the openly gay U.S. ambassador to Germany, to encourage other nations to end the criminalization of homosexuality, as examples of his dedication to the LGBTQ community.

CAROLINE ELLIS --
Birthdate: April 16th, 1991 ( 27 ) Gender and Pronouns: Female, she/her Hometown: Savannah, Georgia Neighborhood: Midway City Occupation: Exotic Dancer Face-claim: Amber Heard Trigger Warnings: Childhood Abuse, Death, Drugs, Neglect.
BIOGRAPHY --
Born the second and final child to an individual who was potentially the least capable of welcoming offspring into the world, stability has never been a word in Caroline Ellis’ vocabulary. Yet another unplanned and unwanted pregnancy for a woman whose previous child had been reclaimed by the state years before Caroline was even a mild consideration, her mother and the man assumed to be her father would always hold a bag of white powder in higher regard than their daughter. The young girl was forced to walk home from school through a rough neighborhood countless times due to being forgotten. Every potential hiding spot in the house became known before first grade just in case an unanticipated knock on the front door was precipitated by blaring sirens. On Halloween, her parents carved lines instead of pumpkins. They told exaggerated lies instead of bedtime stories. Perhaps worst of all, they reversed their parent-child relationships until Caroline essentially became fully grown before she even reached junior high. It was around Caroline’s sophomore year of high school that the benders which enveloped her estranged father and consumed him beyond all reason extended for days at a time before anyone caught a glimpse of the man stumbling through their front door. It was near inevitable when they grew to be weeks long. Then months. Eventually he never came back at all. Where the Ellis child barely found herself surprised at his disappearance and assumed the worst, her mother took the loss of her other half with such anguish and appall that she immediately checked into rehab with every intention of “cleaning up her act”. In no way would she ever leave her remaining child without both parents, for once some warped version of pure love tipped the scale in favor of a cohesive family.
And it lasted. For two years.
Long enough for the Ellis home to regrow into something akin to a normalized family, though far from perfect as the matriarch continuously struggled against her own desires and temptations. By now Caroline had discovered a passion for dance, an outlet for the unspoken pain of her childhood and a harmless way to release suppressed creativity. Every afternoon filled itself with dance classes, dance team practice, and personal routines carried out in their dingy, cramped living room. With an impressive talent and decent grades, she found herself on track to begin applying to genuine dance conservatories in the beautiful city of New Orleans at the end of her Senior year, but that opportunity never came. The relapse wasn’t obvious at first. Her mother simply claimed to be held up at one of her two jobs, working double shifts or assisting another waitress; the excuses were numerous and somewhat believable at the time. To her credit, she carried on that lie for longer than most would have believed possible, skirting the wary eyes of her child and tucking away every piece of evidence for nearly a year. Yet to those who were more than familiar with the symptoms of withdrawal and abuse, nothing could be hidden forever. It was her mother’s new boyfriend who discovered the bag in a bedside table drawer and began the confrontation. Nearly an hour of screaming later, with her mother’s pleas ringing through the halls of their fragile home, he walked out the door and didn’t return.
Torn between the helpless state of her despondent mother and the righteous fury of betrayal laid out by a man she barely knew, Caroline opted to remain with the former for safety and guidance. Forever a child turned parent; a role reversal she still could not shake. The decision would never be an easy one and while it felt as though she were gutting every opportunity to get the hell out of dodge, she remained firm in her belief that their mother’s health could be saved— that her demons could be overrun with enough might. A naïve hope, but it was all she had left. Several years removed since the splintering cracks in her family’s foundation began to spider outwards, revealing more than just the surface flaws, and Caroline has fully embodied the role of caretaker. As much as she curses herself for it, the youngest Ellis simply cannot bear to abandon her mother despite the trauma of her childhood or the fruitless endeavor being undertaken. So she burdens herself with the rent, the bills, the ever looming fear of discovering her only remaining parent’s body on the bathroom floor.
Every few months seems to be a repetition of the same cycle with her mother spiraling, being forced into rehab, and returning with a temporary sobriety before her demons become too much to bear once more. A move to the quieter life in Westport seemed to work for a short spell, but it was never a permanent solution. Both women grow more weary with every passing episode, more than aware of precisely how off the rails this train has ventured. It’s a stressful and exhausting way to live, but Caroline cannot fathom any alternative. Dancing eventually took a backseat in favor of obtaining as much money as possible to keep their rickety life afloat and Caroline has devoted every fibre of her being to the nightly grind. Both literally and figuratively. Sanity comes in the form of free sessions in the YMCA’s dance studio when it’s empty or after paid hours, though that’s more to stay in shape and remain poised in her former craft than to practice working a pole. While not particularly ashamed about her line of work, Caroline also doesn’t make a valiant effort to mention the dirty details when asked. She prefers to just say she’s a “dancer” and leave it there, allowing others to make assumptions as they please. Her passion will always remain that and nothing more, a fleeting hope dashed by reality’s sharp claws.

The Most Infamous Crimes From Each of the 50 States
We all have a little bit of hometown respect, something that reaches us all proud to argue its own history plus it’s merriment to brag a little about what establishes your metropoli different or special. But with every good state reaches a dark area that we don’t get too excited to tell tourists or calling friends. Each country comes with its own luggage and narratives, some much darker than others. These are some well-known violations that happened in every nation. Heads up, some of these are a little disturbing.
