I've been in a New Albion mood for a while and came up with a rough timeline of the tetralogy, which very quickly lead to character designs

Sorry but I will defend Annabel McAlistair with my life. Her absolute worst crime was objectifying Jasper and she stopped and fixed it as soon as he said that this was hurting him. And it wasn't like sending him back had no consequences on her life! This was her only chance to prove that she wasn't failure, to prove that she had worth, and she gave it all up because Jasper said he was suffering! And this next bit is probably more up to interpretation, but I always took it as implied that her father married her off after she failed to prove that she could succeed in a more academic path. She gave up her entire life to fix a mistake that she only made because she wanted someone to be nice to her. And you're going to sit there and tell me she sucks as a person
