*me waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night*
Wriothesley and Uncle Iroh
Just- those two
Tea besties in another life change my mind.
They would be the best tea duo
They would exchange recipes
They would spend hours talking and everyone would think it’s some serious diplomacy stuff- EXCEPT NO. ITS TEA AND THEM CRYING AT THE FACT THAT THEY FOUND SOMEONE WHO IS AS INSANE ABOUT TEA AS THEY ARE
Wriothesley would totally play pai sho with Uncle Iroh if there’s tea. And of course there’s tea, Uncle Iroh is not a degenerate, he is a man of true culture
Wriothesley just inviting Uncle Iroh to tea, not expecting much since fucking everyone keeps turning him down (I’d join you for tea Wrio, even though I only like green tea, because I’m polite dammit and my anxiety wouldn’t let me say no, I’d still be happy to join you, please someone join this man for tea, it’s all he’s asking for-), and then Uncle Iroh says “yes” and Wrio just.
Freezes.
And is all like :0 really????
And from then on, Wriothesley would die for Uncle Iroh like the rest of us
Wriothesley would full on deck Zuko for his complete disregard of tea pre-Ba Sing Se tea shop. It would be glorious.
Lanky 16 year old exiled prince with anger and daddy issues vs tired deadpan tea fanatic who could freeze his ass with one punch and has passed the midlife crisis stage of his life
Wrio is an orphan right? Or is that still just speculation? Point is-
Iroh would 100% adopt this deadpan humor stray kid after one convo of Wrio managing to bring up tea in every other sentence
I just-
I need this duo

{༻~Giving the reader gifts for the baby~༺}
A/n: I thought I had written my last baby related headcanons, but I absolutely could NOT get these ideas out of my brain so here they are!
CW: Readers pregnant! Extremely fluffy! Mentions of Lyney being a orphan!
(Includes: Lyney, Albedo, Alhaitham, Heizou, Wanderer, and Neuvillette!)
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
𑁍༄Lyney:
Your heart swelled as you neatly folded baby clothes, preparing the room for when the little one would arrive and looking at all the sweet gifts you'd received during your baby shower. It still seemed unreal, having a baby...let alone having one with a famous magician like Lyney, you couldn't help but wonder if they would end up taking after their father and also going down the path of magic.
"Lost in thought mon amour?" Your eyes widened in happy surprise as you turned to face the voice, your face blushing slightly as Lyney walked up to greet you, placing a kiss on your forehead and gentle touching your round tummy as a means to say hi to the baby as well. "Just thinking about what it would be like if our child wanted to be a magician like you, wouldn't that be cute?"
His eyes shimmered with excitement at being able to share something he loved so much with his baby, something he had always wished he could have shared with his own parents had he had any. "Well, I'd certainly be happy to teach them...buuut every magician, needs a fancy hat. Hmm I wonder..." He stepped away from you for a moment, taking his top hat off his head and reaching inside as if he were searching for something, a act you'd seen quiet a few times by now.
"Aha! I'm sure this will work right?" He pulled his hand out of his hat revealing a smaller, softer version of it, perfect size for a baby to wear and so cute you could barely stand it. "Oh my gosh!"
𑁍༄Albedo:
You squinted, attempting to peek through the cracks of Albedos fingers, his hands covering your face while he lead you to the surprise he'd made just for you and the baby. "Ready love?" His question made your heart skip a beat out of excitement, his hands pulling away and your eyes shooting open to see the most beautiful of gifts.
The babies nursery, now fully stocked with furniture you'd thought wouldn't be there for weeks and decorated with adorable toys and baby items, but most perfect of all was the walls...each one now hand painted with pastel versions of the stars, constellations dancing around the room. Your emotions were already all over the place and seeing his hard work snapped whatever hold you'd had on them, happy tears pouring down your face as Albedo hugged you tightly, kissing your cheek to comfort you. "Do you like it?"
"Albedo...it's perfect."
𑁍༄Alhaitham:
You were still in shock, Alhaitham...the man who you loved oh so much and were currently carrying the child of...had made you a surprise? It's not that you thought he wasn't kind enough to do so, not at all, but the idea of such a quiet bookworm, who himself wasn't a fan of surprises, was giving you one...seemed unbelievable. Had Kaveh put him up to it? "Alhaitham, you sure you came up with this?"
"I wouldn't lie. I'm sure once you see the surprise you'll know it wasn't anyone else's planning that brought it to fruition." His hand was intertwined with yours as he carefully lead you into the nursery, your eyes closed so you wouldn't be spoiled to the surprise and your large tummy making it difficult to maneuver through the room without bumping into anything.
"Alright open." Following his instructions you opened your eyes, looking around the babies room until your eyes landed on the newest addition to the furniture, a book shelf, absolutely filled to the brim with baby books galore and topped with toys he must have picked out when you weren't around. "I figured since I am not good at socialising, I could read to the baby and maybe teach them some thing early."
"Aweeee Alhaitham..."
𑁍༄Heizou:
Your eyes widened at the sheer number of toys that sat in front of you, each one specifically picked or made by Heizou and varying in different pastel colours, the only issue was...you had absolutely no idea what some of them were. "Heizou these are really cute and incredibly well made, but what are they?" You looked next to you, your face turning slightly pink as he walked up to you and hooked a arm around your waist, his hand on your tummy like he always had it.
"They're all investigation tools that detectives use, just baby proofed. I figure with these types of tools, our baby can solve just about any playground crime and maybe catch a couple naughty children in the process. I even made them a little case so they could carry it all." He smiled happily at you, pride filling him as you giggled, "Baby isn't even born yet and you've already planned to be the best crime solving duo in existence, it's perfect."
𑁍༄Wanderer:
(I use the nickname Scara for him!)
"It's not anything that special, I just figured since I'm the father I should get the baby something." Scara looked away from you, his face slightly pink as he held up a small box for you to open, its exterior decorated in light blue wrapping paper and on the top sat a bright white bow, from the size of it, you'd have guessed it to be some type of jewelry.
"Scara...that's really sweet of you." You smiled at him sweetly, doing your best to hug him despite your large tummy and finding it adorable that when you pulled away, his hands had rested on the spot the baby was now kicking at. You almost wanted to say something about it, but decided against it, knowing he'd probably get flustered and end up with a little attitude, so instead you opened the gift.
After peeling back the wrapping paper and gently opening the box...you gasped, its contents hitting you much harder than you'd thought, your eyes watering at how much this must have meant to Scara. It was a baby bracelet, small golden chain with a singular charm hanging from it...a bright pink heart. "Oh my gosh..."
"People took my heart away, but...with you, it feels like I have one again and I wanted to make sure the baby had one too." He seemed to have trouble talking, like it was hard for him to explain, but you understood every word...
𑁍༄Neuvillette:
You couldn't help but feel slightly nervous, melusines lined up in front of you, each with a gift for your baby or you and all of them wanting to wish you a happy pregnancy. Neuvillette of course stood next to you, his hand holding yours to comfort you as best he could and protect you just in case, he truly didn't think the melusines would cause any harm, but he was incredibly protective of you and even more so now that you were carrying his child.
After the melusines had each given you a gift you turned to face Neuvillette, shocked to seem him holding one last present...a stuffed seal plushie that appeared to be hand sewn and somehow slightly resembled him, to the point you almost giggled in response. "Awe Neuvillette it's adorable! Did you make it? Oh it's so soft!" You accepted the stuffie from him, impressed by how fluffy it was and even more impressed by how light it seemed to be, perfect for baby to play with as they got older.
"Yes ma chérie, apologies if it isn't perfect..., I've never attempted to sew till now." You shook your head, hugging him happily, "It's absolutely perfect Neuvillette, our baby is going to love it."

Of course as a dragon, you live for eternity. But Neuvillette never knew that his eternity with Wriothesley had ended only just as it had begun.
A statue was built in the Fortress of Meropide in remembrance of him, with new lakelight lillies everyday.
The day the duke died, the storms in Fontaine began, and for fifteen years, they never let up.
Neuvillette knew he wasn’t coming back. He had lost many friends, lovers, and family over the course of his infinite life, but he couldn’t cope with this loss.
He expected to be confronted by the people of Fontaine about the situation years ago. But it never happened.
🌊…
“Hydro dragon, hydro dragon, don’t cry!”
The thunder and lightning ceased in a second. That voice, it was all too familiar, but it wasn’t his. It was the voice of a child. (9-10y for reference)
The image of his lover was pasted onto this child, and the storms in Fontaine calmed to a mere sprinkle.
The chief justice did not believe in reincarnation, but in that moment he would believe you if you told him that Melusines lived in liyue.
The child’s name was Rio, and he was an orphan.
The ludex “adopted” this child, taking care of him as any “father” would do.
He often thought about how similar the two are, The child and the duke.
The rain in Fontaine let up after a few months, children finally happy the hydro dragon wasn’t “crying” anymore.
🐺…(4-5 years later)
“Dad, why did you adopt me?” Rio asked as he picked at his dinner. “Finish your food, then ask questions.” The dragon huffed. “But why? I’m not special!” The teenager whined. “I’ll give you this; you know that statue we visit every morning before school?” The chief justice gave in. “Yeah? What about it?” Rio called in question. “You remind me of him.” Neuvillette finished, standing up to rinse his plate. “Thats it? I remind you of him? No secret backstory or anything?” The black haired child protested, to no avail as his father was already heading to bed.
Days passed, and the pestering never ceased. The dragon had years of patience, but it had seemingly vanished within a week. “But dad-“ “Enough, Rio. We will talk after dinner.” The ludex huffed as he began to eat his food.
Soon after, the hyperactive adolescent waited for his father to start explaining.
“There was a dragon, a very lonely dragon. He had lived for hundreds of years before he found a wolf. The wolf loved to get in trouble, and the dragon had to get him out of it. They were very close, and they had a lot of fun together.” The teenager didn’t understand what this meant in relation to why he was adopted, but he listened anyway.
“One day, the dragon realized he liked the wolf, but not how you like your friends. No, he loved the wolf, and wanted to be by his side forever. He told the wolf how he felt, and the wolf loved him too. They were happy together, but they had to keep their relationship a secret. A dragon and a wolf couldn’t be together, no, that was forbidden. So they kept each other company in their own privacy. Holding hands behind their backs, sneaking off together, and spending time when no one else was around.” At this point, Rio was invested. He started to wonder how his almost expressionless father could come up with such an imaginative story.
“After a while, the dragon started to wonder what it would be like if they weren’t a secret. What would people say? Would they hate them? Would they love them? He was happy, yes, but he wanted to be more than a secret. The wolf wanted the same, but he couldn’t lose his position to the public. He cared for the dragon deeply, much more than he cared about his job, and that’s why he couldn’t be seen with him. He was afraid people would treat the dragon differently, and he knew the dragon was sensitive.”
“A few weeks go by, and the two are happy. They still are secret, but are a little less shy about their public acts. One night, they get into a fight. The wolf was talking to another wolf, and the dragon didn’t like that. He told the wolf and the wolf got mad. He said the dragon was jealous, and the dragon admitted to it. The wolf yelled at the dragon, and told him they weren’t together so he shouldn’t be jealous. The dragon felt betrayed, and ran away, but the wolf was sorry. It was too late though, the dragon was gone.”
“It had been days before the wolf found the dragon, but the dragon didn’t want to see the wolf. The dragon repeated what the wolf said and turned away, causing the wolf to feel worse. The wolf apologized and said he didn’t mean it, and asked the dragon if they could be together, for real this time. The dragon was overjoyed, he immediately said yes and hugged the wolf.” A small tear rolled out of the Ludex’ eye before he could catch it, but before the teen could see it, he wiped it away.
“A few months after they became public, the wolf had a very big job to do for his people, and had to leave for a few weeks. The dragon understood and said goodbye and wished him good luck.”
“The wolf never came back. Days, then weeks, then months, then a year before the dragon heard anything. The wolf had finished the job and was heading home when he got… uhh…. shot by hunters. The dragon was devastated. He didn’t believe it at first, then he was furious. At the hunters and the wolf. He promised to make it home safe, so why had he gone and died? The dragon found and killed the hunters out of rage. Then the dragon was sad, so sad that the place where he lived was affected by his depression.”
“It rained so hard it could crack a wine glass, and the dragon didn’t care. The world would pay for its mistake. Years went by, and the dragon stopped feeling. Love, pain, sadness. The storms raged on but the dragon didn’t mind. The dragon couldn’t live anymore, he just survived.”
“Then one day, one of the few when he would go on walks to watch the storm, the dragon found a puppy. And when he saw that puppy, the storms relaxed into a soft rain. The puppy looked just like the wolf, sounded like him, smelt like him, just younger. Of course he knew it wasn’t the wolf, but he didn’t care. The puppy didn’t have any parents or friends, so he took him in.”
“As the puppy got older, the dragon realized how similar he was to the wolf. The dragon almost cried tears of joy the first time the puppy called him dad, but how could he cry when he couldn’t even feel? The dragon knew he couldn’t replace the wolf because that was his lover, but the puppy was his child.”
Neuvillette sat up from his slouched posture on the couch to watch his son’s reaction, only to find a tear streaked awe-struck face in return. “What is the matter?” The chief justice asked the teen. “You’re the dragon, and Wriothesley is the wolf, isn’t he? And I’m the puppy?” He hugged out before another waterfall of tears fell down his face. “How’d you know?” The Ludex smiled. (somewhat) “Dad you don’t try very hard to hide the fact that you are most definitely the ‘hydro dragon’ of Fontaine. And Wriothesley looks like a wolf, doesn’t he? Do I look like a wolf? No, I look like a dog, and young dogs are puppies!…..” The dragon watched his son lovingly ramble about anything and everything, hoping that his wolf could see him too.

I'm sorry for my mistake - indeed, I did not have timestamps on. I truly wish he would be a little older, and I wish that without knowing how many years have passed between his title and our present, maybe, he is a little bit older. In my head, he just can't be younger than 30 (until we have crystal clear evidence and numbers) - but 28 is also a very close call.
-
I'm sorry in advance but something caught my eye and I absolutely cannot go by that. In the past days, on Twitter, there were some arguments about Neuvillette sending Wriothesley to Meropide as if it would be Neuvillette's conscious decision and CHOICE to send him there.
I must make it very clear here (and I'm sorry if this is not what you meant, but anyone can read this thread) that assuming Neuvillette gives out sentences like a real judge would is assuming that Fontaine's justice system works the same way as and irl one does.
Many people interpreted and agreed that Neuvillette's silence during Wriothesley's trial was due to some kind of evil chain of thoughts - but honestly, do we know the Hydro Sovereign like this? Who weeps because his soul is touched by humans, who are actually his usurpers, who worship a false God - one that Neuvillette supports...? Overworking himself for centuries, distancing himself from almost everyone, living in solitude only to be the best impartial judge that Fontaine could ever wish for...?
Fontaine atm needs the Oratrice and what it provides to function and get their whole energy system (built upon this) working in their city. But to let the Oratrice make its verdict that the public understands, Neuvillette is the "puppet master" who makes sure that all stones are turned up and every piece of information is said. During this whole time, people pay attention. Neuvillette refutes, then says the sentence that is repeated by the Oratrice - aka by the divine machine made by their Gods. This makes people believe in Focalors - Archons need their people's faith to have their power. Neuvillette is helping to achieve this - which means he supports the power that is rightfully his and was stolen.
But then, what about the punishment? I'm sorry but do we really think (and bless who doesn't) that the Neuvillette we know would send a kid to Meropide if he had the choice to not do that? If we take irl as the base then surely, judges have freedom when they give punishment. But Fontaine's justice system is handling everyone as equals - by the laws. Fontaine has governing bodies and Neuvillette only knows and does his part (he even says in AQ to Furina that e.g. Foreign Affairs is not his cup of tea.)
It is not said specifically, that Neuvillette does or doesn't give the sentences on his own - but from his characterization or from other things we know of Fontaine, it makes no sense that he has any word about the punishment. How could he be The Face of Impartiality if he didn't have a book of laws that he must follow? How could people believe in his justice (and they do, and they do support him as we saw from his SQ) if he would be allowed to give different punishments, to consider factors like someone was a child, etc.. Fontaine's justice system is extremely fucked up, they have people living in the sewers, and they have such a bad care system that orphans are being sold and/or pushed to the streets... Fontaine is rotting from the inside while it's something shiny on the outside.
Neuvillette does his job but atm in 4.1, he is so extremely conflicted over the injustice and he is so helpless that it just rains more and more, and he is nothing like fine with this situation. He just can't do enough on his own - not in his current form. The Oratrice is a goner in his demo in one scene, and with a reason. To solve the roots of the problems, he can only, if he is given authorization and/or rights.
Neuvillette was silent for so long during Wriothesley's trial because it must have pained him to no end that Fontaine had failed a young boy and he had to send him to a place where he could even die while he was the victim all along.
Wrio did his crime and he got the punishment for it without considering other factors.
It was absolutely unfair that this had happened to Wrio but please (and again, this whole post is for those who had doubts) DO NOT blame Neuvi. The person who later stands up for Wrio and gives him his title. Who is probably the only one Wrio truly trusts. This isn't even about shipping them or thinking of them as platonic (before anyone would start that).
Wrio knew what he did and he knew what he was about to get. His trial was too boring for Furina. The crowd was even murmuring during his trial because no one wanted a child to go to Meropide when he was the victim - but by the laws, apparently, he had to go. Neuvillette is not at fault.
I understand if fans have to blame someone but please, don't put this onto Neuvi before thinking about who he really is and what he would or wouldn't do if he had the choice to decide. If he had any say in this then aside from giving Wrio the least possible years, he couldn't do anything more (definitely not anything worse). He would never.
FORGOT TO MENTION IN MY LAST POST:
DILF WRIOTHESLEY TRUTHERS WE'VE WON
Character stories confirm he's like 40 ish... we're out of early-twenties impact.... also dad vibes with the melusines we knew that
