The 'Donut Nembrotha' (Nembrotha rosannulata) is a dorid nudibranch found in eastern Australia, particularly around Cabbage Tree Island. It is a relatively recently discovered species, having been described in 2008 - because of that, there is still a lot more to learn about this colourful creature!

The doughnut nembrotha (Nembrotha rosannulata) is a species of colorful sea slug, a dorid nudibranch, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Polyceridae. This species is known only from Eastern Australia (Northern New South Wales & Southern Great Barrier Reef). It is most commonly seen at Cabbage Tree Island, Port Stephens, NSW. It is a large dull green nembrothid that grows to at least 12 cm in length. The body is textured with rounded longitudinal ridges and scattered raised pustules of various sizes. The pustules are black and each is surrounded by a pink ring which give this species its characteristic color pattern - and name.

Nembrotha rosannulata

...a colorful species of Polycerid nudibranch which is known only from Eastern Australia, ranging from northern New South Wales & Southern Great Barrier Reef. It is most commonly encountered at Cabbage Tree Island, Port Stephens, NSW. N. rosannulata is a fairly new species, fist being described in 2008. N. rosannulata. N. rosannulata is thought to feed exclusively on the stalked ascidian Sigillina cyanea.
