hey you, blogger. do you find yourself in incredible pain daily? even weekly? despite being in your 30s, or younger? despite doing everything that's ""supposed"" to help?
On top of being in incredible pain, can you or could you at any point in your life:
bend yourself into funny positions like putting your foot behind your head
can bend down without fanfare and put your palms COMPLETELY FLAT on the floor
do your elbows bend a bit backwards? how about your knees?
you can bend your pinkies backwards 90 degrees
you find your joints are incredibly weak and garbage; wrists often in pain despite doing stretches; shoulders/neck always hurting no matter how good your posture is; canât get down on your hands and knees because doing so is Ow Ow Oof Ouch
you have gastrointestinal issues that you cannot link to food in any way (yes, for real,)
headaches/migraines â especially unexplained, but even if you do have an explanation (for real)
never had enough room in your mouth for your teeth
vision prescription gets better and then gets worse again and you find yourself very confused about how??? why????
have really bad allergies including âI canât use x soap it gives me a rash for some reasonâ or other similar âcoming into contact with certain things makes me break outâ (itâs called MCAS, itâs often comorbid)
stand up and your heartrate spikes and/or you get dizzy (thatâs called POTS, also comorbid)
Then, hi, you might possibly have something called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, or EDS; specifically the hypermobile subtype (hEDS), which doesnât yet have a known genetic marker and goes wildly underdiagnosed in patients, partly because the things they test for hypermobility are pretty limited, partly because doctors donât know what it is, partly because doctors would rather diagnose you with a different condition (if arthritis or fibromyalgia diagnoses/treatment didnât help, well...!) because if it sounds like a horse itâs PROBABLY a horse (but it could be a zebra)
Of course having any one of these does not an hEDS diagnosis make, but if you have multiple on my above list? Multiple of the list I am including below the cut? Itâs worth looking into. You can continue on reading to see my brief overview, or you can head to www.ehlers-danlos.com to do your own research; theyâre a great resource!
"I have a lot of these but not all of them" that's still worth looking into! I've only got five on the above list, and i definitely still have hEDS! Even three is worth considering!
more symptoms and info below the cut, if you want to hear it from a fellow blogger who was diagnosed at 25 and found the diagnosis Extremely Eye Opening as to why i was always in pain and Various Other Issues
---
General hEDS info: EDS itself is a genetic disorder that affects your connective tissue, which in general makes your joints weak and your ligaments weaker. hEDS is the most common subtype, in which you have a lot of EDS traits AND hypermobility BUT none of the genetic markers for the 12 other EDS subtypes.
âWait, but this thing I can do is normal, my whole family can do it!â or âmy motherâs side of the family is all like this!â hEDS is genetic. Itâs possible to have it if your parents donât, but VERY unlikely. So unlikely, in fact, that having immediate family history of hEDS is one of the 3 main diagnostic criteria for it. (You can still get diagnosed if you hit the other 2, but they only ask for 2/3.)
âSurely it canât be so hard to diagnose that doctors donât notice it!â my sister did not find out until she was in her 30s, because one of her friends has hEDS, and when my sister was bemoaning how useless doctors were, her friend was like â....hey those sound like MY symptoms, have you considered you might have hEDS?â (Which, due to it being genetic, is how my mom and I found out we also probably had it.) Also, much like ADHD, doctors are wary of diagnosing people with it, afraid theyâre just trying to get the âgoodâ meds.
âWhat good does a diagnosis/research even do me?â 1) an explanation for why youâre in pain all the time 2) knowledge so you can avoid doing things that would hurt you (you have to be SOOO careful with most forms of exercise!) 3) itâs a disorder that warrants higher pain meds than what you can get OTC, so if you are seriously in a lot of pain all the time, and would like to not be...
Iâm gonna put a more in-depth list of symptoms below. If you have any five of them, I highly suggest you poke around www.ehlers-danlos.com and do your own research, because even if you arenât in a position to get a clinical diagnosis right now, even suspecting you MIGHT Have it is useful, either for an explanation for all the things that seem wrong with your body that couldnât otherwise be explained, or to know that... hey, you should really be careful with what kinds of physical exercise youâre doing, because your risk of injury for some sports is WAY higher than it is for people who donât have hEDS. More on that below, as well.
-
Symptoms list time:
*THIS IS ALMOST DEFINITELY A MARKER OF hEDS*
hypermobile joints
unstable/weak joints
joints that dislocate frequently
CHRONIC PAIN
stretchy and fragile skin (classic EDS marker, but can show up in hEDS): do you bruise easily? Do cuts take forever to heal?
your parent(s) are also like this (it's a genetic disorder!! Chances are you got it from one of them!!! Love to hear âoh my hips do that too!!! Didnât realize it wasnât normalâ thanks mom.)
"my parents don't have hEDS tho" are you sure. like. my mom didn't know until my sister found out she did. this thing is *wildly underdiagnosed*. Momâs in her 50s and had doctors diagnose her with arthritis and fibromyalgia, the treatments for which didnât help her because it wasnât what was actually wrong
-
*OTHER THINGS THAT OFTEN COME FREE WITH YOUR hEDS*
chronic fatigue
gastrointestinal issues (if you thought you had IBS, but hit any of the hEDS things, you should consider, well, an hEDS diagnosis; gastroparesis is a common comorbidity)
dysautonomia; i don't have this but it causes things like POTS or "heartrate spikes when i stand" or "i get dizzy when i stand and lose vision briefly"
headaches (and/or migraines!)
MCAS, aka really bad allergies. your nose gets offended at the slightest bit of pollen. the weirdest materials give you a rash. you can only use one soap because all the other ones make you break out. etc.
...ADHD. Iâm not shitting you. It is so frequently comorbid that in the UK when you test positive for either ADHD or hEDS they will immediately test you for the other. Connective tissue exists in your brain, as well, so I guess if your connective tissue just doesnât function properly...
-
HEY CAN YOU PUT THIS IN NON-CLINICAL TERMS FOR ME
sure! did you, at any point in your life:
- able to bend into funny positions like put foot behind head; especially as a kid (hi! that's me!) but of particular note if you can still do those things now
- stretches like butterfly or crossing your arm over your chest just... donât feel like stretches? (my sister)
- could you bend and without effort place your palms flat on the floor? can you still now? apparently most people struggle - without regular stretching - to touch their toes, let alone put their palms *completely flat* to the floor. that's hypermobility baby!
- elbows bend a little bit backwards? knees?
- can you bend your pinkies back 90 degrees?
- consider yourself double-jointed?
- shoulders/neck always hurt? and like your muscles are SOOOO tight in your neck all the time? hey guess what: the thing EDS does is make your body produce less collagen, which makes your ligaments weak as fuck, and so your muscles are constantly spasming to hold your head up. this is why you're in pain. this is why working the knots out never helps and they always come back. no, this isn't because youâre on your computer too much. your body was just built differently (poorly)
- stretching never seems to help? stretches make you hurt more??? or even: most forms of exercise cause you pain? yeah, most exercise/stretches are meant for Able Bodied People, not people with an underlying undiagnosed hypermobility disorder. You have to adapt them to your needs, and also stretches will never be the be-all-end-all solution to back pain like those funny little infographics on the internet will try and tell you. Maybe it is for able-bodied people, if you have a genetic condition that causes chronic pain, well,
- âbut my shoulders are soooo tight thoâ POINTING ABOVE AGAIN. they are doing that because the muscles have to overcompensate for your weak ligaments. Stretching does not fix this; you may loosen your muscles, but they will simply tighten again later. The real fix is doing exercises to improve your shoulder muscle stability â Iâll talk about some exercises below.
- have you ever thought to yourself "what the hell, i'm too young to be in this much pain all the time??" you're right! it might be hEDS.
- struggle with opening jars? weak upper body strength? randomly lose your grip on things youâre holding with your hands? âare you seriousâ Iâm serious
- can't crawl on your hands and knees because that hurts your wrists and your knees?
- tangentially: did your parents say you crawled funny as a kid? army crawl? started walking way earlier than expected? yeah.
- you can't squat or kneel because ow oof ow your ankles ow ow your knees? yeah.
- is getting up from the floor hard sometimes?? despite being 30 or younger???? yeah.
- despite everything, and not trying to be, you're still kind of really flexible???
- like, you could do the splits as a kid without having to train yourself to do it?? you can still do the splits now without any effort at all?
- do you seem to get injured really easily? joints especially, or, again, bruised really easily.
- are you in pain right now? think about it. shoulders? back? legs? did you see the part where one of the diagnostic criteria for hEDS is chronic pain? yeah.
i could probably keep going.
-
~here's some specific connective tissue disorder things; i've included only the extremely "normal" ones that havenât already been listed above and/or are easy to check yourself. you can find a full list at https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/what-is-eds/hypermobile-ehlers-danlos-syndrome-heds/ under "how is hEDS diagnosed?"~
listed above: stretchy/fragile skin. By stretchy btw I mean: can you pinch your skin anywhere and pull and get even half an inch away from your body? Neck/back of hand is a good place to try. If you canât pinch your skin at all w/o hitting Meat then you donât have this (I donât, even tho my sister does!) but itâs worth looking out for and alone is like THE thing EDS (all types) is characterized by, so if your skin stretches, thatâs of particular notice (but your skin not stretching does not disqualify you from having EDS)
stretch marks (they hate to use this if you're afab, but,)
"Bilateral piezogenic papules of the heel" uh when you're standing are your heels kinda. lumpy. like they got balls in 'em. that's what this is. (this is one of the things i have)
dental crowding (lol!!!!)
can you close your thumb+pinky around both your wrists? (steinberg sign)
when you make fists, thumbs underneath fingers, do your thumbs stick out past your fingers? (walker sign)
-
âHey, Iâm not really hypermobile - is it still possible to have hEDS??â
in theory! Iâm only mildly hypermobile myself, outside of the âfoot behind headâ trick from when i was ten and the âcan even now at 25 bend down and put palms flat on floor with no effortâ i have⌠basically no other signs of hypermobility. Though, I guess âthings that should be stretches like butterfly or touching your toes are super easy and not stretches for meâ also counts as being hypermobile, huh. Itâs just really mild.
And, you know, maybe you just have a different EDS subtype. EDS as a whole is not super well understood, so the chances you got a doctor who didnât know what it was / didnât want to order a genetic test about it is still, like, high enough itâs worth looking into, I think.
Basically every issue my body has can be drawn back to hEDS, and that kind of knowledge is insane but also really liberating. There is a cause for this. Iâm not just in pain for no reason â or worse â because Iâm âbadâ at taking care of myself. I have a genetic disorder that makes it so my joints donât work right and also Iâm in pain all the time. Itâs not necessarily happy, but at least itâs an explanation, instead of sitting there and shrugging and going âI dunnoâ about it.
So, sincerely, if even five of the things Iâve listed above sound familiar to you, I think you should look into it. Maybe youâll research and go âoh, that doesnât sound like me at all, actuallyâ, but on the chance you, like me, start researching and find yourself going âTHATâS WHATâS BEEN CAUSING THAT THIS WHOLE TIME????â I think itâs worth looking into. That validation is sincerely quite freeing.
-
âOk, you've convinced me. Now what do I do?â
first of all research some more!
https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/what-is-eds/ <-- EDS overview and EDS subtypes! Maybe you have one that isnât hEDS
https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/what-is-eds/hypermobile-ehlers-danlos-syndrome-heds/ <-- hEDS specific page
https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/heds-diagnostic-checklist/ <-- hEDS diagnostic checklist
https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/assessing-joint-hypermobility/#1667831445611-fb40d58e-84a4 <-- the checklist opens on something called the Beighton scale, which is explained in more detail here. **IF YOU DO NOT SCORE HIGH ON THE BEIGHTON SCALE BUT STILL HAVE MOST OTHER HEDS ISSUES, PRESS FOR DIAGNOSIS NONETHELESS. ENTIRELY POSSIBLY YOU ARE HYPERMOBILE IN AREAS THAT ARENâT TRACKED BY THE BEIGHTON SCALE. ITâS IMPERFECT AND PROBABLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT THEY HAVENâT GOTTEN AROUND TO IT YET.**
https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/2017-eds-classification-non-experts/ <-- EDS things in laymanâs terms, including comorbidities, like what I was talking about wrt gastrointestinal issues, orthopedic issues, chronic fatigue issues, etc, etc, etc. if you have issues with allergies look at the Mast Cell Disorder one. if you have that âheartrate spikes or I get dizzy when I standâ issue look at the Cardiovascular Autonomic Dysfunction one.
(ngl, sorry if its gross, but learning that hEDS often comes packaged with gastrointestinal issues was what really sealed the whole deal for me being convinced, despite âyour sister has it and your mom almost definitely has itâ being EXTREMELY damning evidence, because. I have had issues with diarrhea my whole goddamn life. I canât tie it to food. It just curses me daily.)
second of all: talk to your doctor! or, find a doctor in your area that specializes in EDS. book an appointment, see what they can offer you. they can probably hook you up with physical therapy options (to safely strengthen your muscles to compensate for your weak connective tissue) or some pain management options! If you find the physical therapist is making you do things that make you hurt more and they repeatedly do not listen to you and your body, fire them and find a new physical therapist.Â
https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/healthcare-professionals-directory/ <-- list of doctors.Â
Third of all: find a support group if youâd like? Thereâs FB groups and Reddit groups and probably even more. Links to some of them here: https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/support/Â
YMMV because hEDS sometimes gets shit on by people with the other EDS subtypes, but at the very least, if a fellow Zebra is bitching about a doctor, youâll know who to avoid.Â
Fourth: Just⌠if you think you might have it, I want you to take a step back and reconsider the way you feel about yourself and maybe about the exercise you are/arenât doing. I had a lot of compounded guilt about how I âwasnât taking good enough care of myselfâ ; when youâre in pain all the time you sometimes start blaming yourself, especially if you, like me, find that exercise is difficult and painful and that stretching doesnât ACTUALLY help, you quit doing it. But you donât always quit thinking âwell apparently if I did those stretches to prevent back pain that people always talk about, then I wouldnât have any back pain!!!!!!â and that kind of mindset... sucks.
It's also not true. Like, not in general, but also especially not if you have hEDS. My back is in pain because my body was built different (poorly), NOT because I âwasnât doing the right thingâ.
So hereâs my get out of jail free card, for you. You arenât in pain because you arenât doing anything to âfixâ it. Youâre just in pain. Sure, you can do some (specialized) (hEDS friendly ones) exercises to help combat it, or you could go take some painkillers, but... your pain is not a punishment for your decision not to exercise. Your pain just kinda... is.
Every generalized exercise advice you see online you need to take with a grain of salt anyway, because it was not written for people with a hypermobility disorder. If doing it doesnât help, then you donât need to push through the pain because âitâs the thing thatâs supposed to fix everything!!!!â No no. There is no correct answer. There is no one-size fits all. If it doesnât help, or if it hurts, then you shouldnât do it.
I say this from a place of love. I spent several months trying to fix my wrist pain with stretches, and you know what never went away? My wrist pain. In fact, Iâm mildly convinced the stretches made the pain worse. I kept pushing through it for ages, though, because I kept getting told it was supposed to help, and that it was IMPORTANT as someone who spends all day on the computer to TAKE CARE OF MY WRISTS via THESE STRETCHES WE HAVE HELPFULLY COMPILED ONTO AN INFOGRAPHIC FOR YOU!!!!! ...but thatâs not how it works. The rules are a little different when you have a hypermobility disorder. You have to really look into exercises that are safe for you to do, instead of just assuming the ones that everyone passes around are going to help.
âMan, so even those shoulder stretches you see around might not help?â nope! They might not!
âWhat do I do then?â strengthening exercises... Iâll put resources / explain one easy one (for shoulders) below.
Also if you are someone with a job that requires sitting at the computer all day, and youâre worried about how that affects your health... Even if you just get up once every two hours and walk around / look at something else (even your bathroom!!!) for a little bit, thatâs fine, thatâs plenty, thatâs more than enough. You donât have to stretch your shoulders every 30 minutes. You shouldnât stretch your shoulders every 30 minutes if thatâs hurting you.
RESOURCES TIME
1) https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/resource/strengthen-your-hypermobile-core-a-home-exercise-approach-for-eds-hsd-and-hypermobility-jeannie-di-bon/ <-- webinar that covers at-home exercises you can do
2) and a whole playlist of at-home exercises (in reasonable sized video chunks) by one of the experts, here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLp-oNOmoFdAMFZB7XfpUZyvg_xzE3S3Ue â DISCLAIMER I HAVE NOT WATCHED OR USED THESE, SO WHILE I CAN SAY I DOUBT SHE WOULD BE FEATURED WERE SHE NOT A REAL EXPERT, PLEASE JUST. Err on the side of caution. If even one of these hurts you, try not to do it until you can talk with your personal physical therapist, which, yes, I realize requires Acquiring one first..... worth poking around tho, this person has a ton of tips on how to be careful with your joints while doing chores and day-to-day tasks as well, it seems. Actual advice that might actually help you instead of âoh make sure to stretch every 30 minutes!!!!â (might not help) or âhave you tried jogging? Its free and easy!!!!!â (sport that is more likely to injure you thanks to the weak joints thing)
3) You can also search âexerciseâ on ehlers-danlos.com and come up with a ton of other pages/videos/etc of EDS friendly exercises produced by the experts that run this site.
4) That One Easy One I Can Explain In A tumblr Post: Bridging
Meant for core stability, but also works towards strengthening your shoulder muscles as well. Bridges!!! You can probably look up guides, or the lady I linked above has a video that includes her doing bridges about 4 minutes in. here's the video (link).
The version I do involves going up for five seconds, then down for five seconds, repeating for a minute (time yourself). Each day add on ten seconds (so second day you do a minute ten, third day minute twenty, etc) until you are eventually able to do it for three minutes. You do not need to go past three minutes. You are recommended not to. You are recommended to work up to 3 minutes and then continue doing it for 3 minutes every day.
(It doesnât have to be every day nor does it necessarily have to be 3 minutes every time; if Iâm tired or in a hurry Iâll just do two minutes. If Iâm really tired Iâll just skip it and do it the next day. No big deal!)
Thatâs all I got. Thanks for listening to me rant. Hope it was enlightening at all!

Schumman Resonance Update đ
"Don't panic if you feel bad during this period"
Very powerful solar explosions are happening with major impact on the Earth that are impacting us.
The next days you will strongly feel this impact involved and major transformations happening.
Normal values of the Earth's electromagnetic Resonance (which we work ideally in tune with this) are around 7.8HZ. This period it ranges between 40Hz AND above 100Hz.
Symptoms that people are experiencing: đ
- severe exhaustion, drowsiness during the day
- insomnia during the night
- state of confusion, lack of focus
- pain in the heart muscle, arthritis
- the feeling that the organs in the body are vibrating
- severe back pain, heavy legs sensation
- pain in joints
- headache, neck, teeth, vision, dizzy sensation, tinnitus/ringing hissing in the ears.
- pressure at the level of the skull, forehead, neck, due to the expansion of the pineal gland in its decalification process, under the pressure of the transformative energy that the body is now receiving
- panic and anxiety
- alternate states of euphoria and sadness
- the feeling of being in another space, dimension
- feeling "homesick"
- memories-short sequences from childhood or even from other lived lives
- resurfacing of lived and unresolved traumas left as Shadows in our system
- the feeling of not finding ourselves in a group, society, friends, family members, relationship with your partner, etc.
Try to rest as much as you can, spend time in nature/grounding, drink lots of pure filtered water, eat as lightly as possible, preferably fruits and vegetables, meditate, practice balancing and harmonizing techniques, breathing exercises.
What I'm feeling:đ
⢠severe exhaustion, drowsiness, nap attacks
⢠heaviness in the legs
⢠tinnitus/ringing hissing in the ears, headache
⢠another dimension
⢠not wanting to be around people
How are you doing? đ¤
As far as the graph itself? It could be a glitch in the system or it could be real... I am feeling it big time especially the ringing/hissing/buzz in the ears, I've never had it this loud.
Take what resonates and discard the rest. â¨

Migraine isn't a Headache Part Four: but what if a headache is all I get?
I was reading through the notes on some other posts and realised that a lot of people are looking for answers re: what their headache could be.
Migraine is underdiagnosed and grossly misunderstood as 'headache' when it isn't a headache, but likewise, some people might dismiss their headache as migrane when they're dealing with a different beast entirely.
If you're bothered by persistent headaches, frequent (weekly/daily) headaches, but don't really experience the myriad of other symptoms that form a migraine, there are a host of differential diagnoses that should be investigated.
It might be worth taking some small measures first before going through the hassle of seeing a doctor. Headaches can be caused by:
Dehydration (I know 'have you had water' is a common thing to be asked when you say you've had a headache, but make sure that you are actually consuming enough fluids - dehydration can absolutely cause bastard headaches, and it's REALLY EASY to be dehydrated if you're busy working and don't look up to drink something)
Eye strain (It might be easier for you to see an optician/optomertrist than a doctor, plus if there ARE any issues, they're usually easier to sort out with glasses, a new prescription, or different types of lenses. Even if you have 20/20 vision, they can at least a) rule out eyestrain)
Hunger (Food is a touchy topic, so I'm not going to linger on it, but eating something small when you have a headache might help. Sometimes I don't feel hungry, but make myself eat a banana or a cracker or something, just to appease the beast)
Bad Sleep (Not enough sleep, too much sleep, poor quality sleep, sleep apnea, so many sleep things can cause headaches that it's a topic of it's own; you can help by practiscing good sleep hygeine, but a routine bedtime/waketime factoring in sufficient hours is really helpful with this)
Stress (This one isn't something you can easily fix at home, especially if your stress is, you know, the cost of living, working your job and every other thing life can throw at us, but noting that you get headaches when you experience stress can make you more aware of when you might need to pamper yourself a little, or to tell a doctor if you're seeking diagnosis)
Caffeine (the whole thing about 'caffeine addiction' is medically disputed, but you can definitely get headaches from stopping drinking caffeine, but also from drinking too much. A lot of people with migraine find relief when drinking caffeine, and it's included in a lot of painkillers, but if you suspect caffeine might be something to do with your headaches, maybe avoid those. It's easy to tell, you just need to stop caffeine for maybe a week or two and see if your headaches improve.)
I'm going to mention Medication Overuse/Rebound Headache here, because it can be eased without medical treatment, but there are all sorts of issues around that.
This apparently doesn't happen if you're taking painkillers for something other than headache, because why not make life harder for people with them. If you take the same painkillers for, eg, back pain, neck pain, arthritis, etc, you don't tend to get rebound headaches.
If you have headaches usually migraine or tension type) and are taking painkillers too frequently (more than 10 days per month) for too long (more than 3 months) you can develop headaches caused by taking too many painkillers.
Messed up, right?
I've had these headaches alongside migraine and they are EVIL. I can only describe them as seething.
Overuse of opioids and triptans are most likely to provoke rebound headache (yeah, the ones migraineurs take, can't catch a break)
Paracetamol and aspirin are the next culprits, with NSAIDs like ibupfrofen and naproxen having less likelihood, but still very much there.
Medication overuse headaches can be resolved by not taking pain medication.
That sounds simple, but in reality, living it, it's hell. For the first few days after you stop taking painkillers, the headaches are⌠spectactular. Intense, crunchy, sparkling pain, acid in your blood pain. Not to mention that you have no treatment for whatever you were taking painkillers to cope with in the first place.
Coming off everything for 2-3 weeks does seem to beat MOH, and the relief when they stop happening is as great as the pain is in those first few days, but you can always redevelop it if you go back to taking more painkillers.
So, what do you do to prevent medication overuse headache while not leaving yourself untreated for the headache you were taking the painkillers for?
Medical advice is to limit the usage of headache medications, no more than 2-3 days a week, or less than 10 days a month, and to avoid opioids and triptans as much as possible.
That doesn't really help if you're getting a headache every other day of the month. This is where preventative treatments are supposed to be utilised, to treat the headache instead of just dulling the pain. I don't have to tell anyone who's already a spoonie that trying to get this treatment is difficult, and that's assuming the preventative measures work for you.
But honestly, personally, I'd rather have a migraine than medication overuse headaches, seriously.
There are so many different types of headache, and other illnesses where headache is a symptom and not the illness itself, that I can't list them all.
You shouldn't diagnose headache disorders over the internet.
I'm not going to pretend that seeing a doctor isn't a financial/energetic/emotional/time scale difficulty for a lot of people, but a) headache can be a sign of something serious, b) even if it's not there may be "easy" treatments for it and c) there are treatments for headache that you can't buy over the counter.
It's one thing to go to a doctor and say you have XYZ symptoms, so you suspect you have headaches/migraines, but treating for, example, migraine when you have another type of headache is just going to waste your money and possibly harm you.
Other types of headaches can include:
Tension Headache - usually felt like a tight band around the head, not necessarily caused by tense muscles, but often triggered by stress, among other things; very commonly confused with migraine, they don't present with other symptoms of migraine like nausea, aura, etc; there's a LOT of information about tension headaches online, and is one of the most common causes of persistent or chronic headache complaints
Cluster Headache - also called 'suicide headache', the pain is so bad that sufferers often can't sit still, rocking, pacing or banging their head into a wall. this is a 'something in one side of my face pulling my cheek away from the skull' pain, that also usually presents with a red/watering eye, sinus disruption on that side, drooping eyelid. onset is fast, with headache lasting 15 minutes to 3 hours and occuring 1-8 times a day. they usually appear in bouts, followed by remission and then reappearance.
Thunderclap headache - sudden onset, reaches intensity in less than a minute, extremely severe pain; if you have one of these for the first time, you should seek immediate medical attention; they can be benign, but they can be a sign of brain injury, stroke, blood vessel tears/ruptures/bloackages
As well as:
hemicrania continua
ice pick headache
sinus headache/other sinus disorders (not a headache disorder in and of itself)
hormone/menstrual headache
hypertension headache
post-traumatic headache
chiari malformations (not a headache disorder, rather where the brain starts to slip into the spinal canal; headache can be a symptom for some people; it's not often talked about, so I thought I'd put it here)
This isn't everything, they all have different diagnosis paths, different symptoms that come along with them, different experiences between people who have them.
Headache is a massive area of differential diagnoses, it's always worth seeing a doctor for diagnosis and proper treatment, if you can.
Back to Migraines in the next part

The Role of Physiotherapy in TMJ Disorder
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder can cause significant pain and discomfort in the jaw joint and surrounding muscles. While there are various treatment options available, physiotherapy has emerged as a valuable approach to managing TMJ disorders. In Pune, individuals dealing with TMJ issues can find relief and support from qualified physiotherapists who specialize in treating this condition.
Understanding TMJ Disorder:
TMJ disorder refers to a range of conditions affecting the temporomandibular joint, which connects the jawbone to the skull. Symptoms may include jaw pain, difficulty chewing or opening the mouth, clicking or popping sounds, headaches, and facial discomfort. Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in addressing these symptoms by focusing on pain reduction, improving jaw function, and promoting overall well-being.
The Role of Physiotherapy:
Physiotherapy offers a holistic and non-invasive approach to treating TMJ disorder. A physiotherapist in Pune will begin by conducting a comprehensive evaluation to understand the underlying causes and assess the severity of your condition. They will then develop a personalized treatment plan to address your specific needs.
Treatment Techniques:
Physiotherapy for TMJ disorder utilizes various techniques that aim to reduce pain, improve jaw mobility, and restore normal function. These may include:
1. Jaw exercises: The physiotherapist will prescribe specific exercises to strengthen and stretch the muscles around the jaw joint, promoting improved jaw movement and reducing muscle tension.
2. Manual therapy: Hands-on techniques, such as joint mobilization and soft tissue manipulation, can help increase joint mobility, alleviate pain, and release muscle tension.
3. Heat or cold therapy: The application of heat or cold packs to the jaw area can reduce pain, inflammation, and muscle spasm.
4. Ultrasound therapy: Ultrasound waves can penetrate deep into the tissues, promoting healing, improving blood flow, and reducing pain and inflammation.
5. Electrical stimulation: Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) involves the use of low-level electrical currents to relieve pain and relax muscles.
6. Posture correction: Correcting poor posture can alleviate strain on the jaw joint. Physiotherapists in Pune can provide guidance on proper head and neck alignment and ergonomic modifications.
7. Education and self-care: Physiotherapists will educate you about proper jaw mechanics, relaxation techniques, and self-care strategies, empowering you to manage your TMJ symptoms effectively.
Finding Relief:
If you're experiencing TMJ disorder, seeking the expertise of a qualified physiotherapist is essential. Look for physiotherapy clinics or practitioners who specialize in TMJ disorders. They will have the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to provide a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs, helping you find relief and regain a pain-free quality of life.

The Transformative Effects of Chiropractic Care: A Firsthand Look
Chiropractic care has been a cornerstone of holistic healthcare for over a century, focusing on the bodyâs musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. More than just a treatment for back pain, chiropractic adjustments offer a holistic approach that can provide relief from various ailments, promote overall well-being, and enhance your quality of life. At Dr-Zeke.com, we invite you to read firsthand accounts of individuals who have experienced the transformative effects of Bee Caves Chiropractic care, helping you understand how it can positively impact your health.
Understanding Chiropractic Care: A Natural Approach to Healing
Chiropractic care is based on the principle that the body has an inherent ability to heal itself when properly aligned. The spine plays a crucial role in the bodyâs function, and even minor misalignmentsâreferred to as subluxationsâcan lead to discomfort, pain, and reduced mobility. Chiropractors use manual manipulation, also known as spinal adjustments, to realign the spine and restore optimal function to the nervous system.
The goal of chiropractic care is to ensure that the nervous system is functioning at its best, as it controls all bodily functions, from muscle movement to organ function. Misalignments can disrupt this communication, causing pain, inflammation, and other symptoms. By correcting these issues through gentle spinal adjustments, chiropractors help the body return to a balanced, pain-free state.
Firsthand Experiences: How Chiropractic Care Transforms Lives
Chiropractic care is not just about treating specific pain pointsâitâs about improving the quality of life. At Dr-Zeke.com, you can read firsthand accounts of individuals whose lives have been transformed by chiropractic care. Here are just a few examples of how patients have benefited:
Â
Relief from Chronic Back Pain
Many people who suffer from chronic back pain, especially in the lower back, turn to chiropractic care for lasting relief. Sarah, a patient who struggled with constant back pain due to years of poor posture, shares how chiropractic care has significantly improved her condition. After a series of spinal adjustments, Sarah found that her pain was not only alleviated, but her flexibility and posture also improved, allowing her to return to her favorite activities like yoga and hiking.
Â
Enhanced Mobility and Reduced Stiffness
For patients dealing with conditions like arthritis or sports injuries, chiropractic care offers significant benefits in terms of improving mobility and reducing stiffness. Tom, a retired athlete, discusses how chiropractic treatments helped him regain his mobility after years of living with joint stiffness. He can now enjoy activities like cycling and swimming without the discomfort that once held him back.
Â
Stress Reduction and Improved Sleep
Chronic stress and poor sleep are common issues in todayâs fast-paced world, often exacerbated by physical tension and misalignment. Jennifer, a busy professional, noticed a remarkable reduction in her stress levels and better sleep quality after starting chiropractic treatments. The relaxation that comes with proper spinal adjustments, coupled with the positive effects on the nervous system, helped Jennifer feel more relaxed and energized.
Â
Migraines and Headaches
Frequent headaches and migraines are debilitating conditions that many people live with, sometimes for years. Chiropractic care has been shown to be effective in reducing the frequency and severity of headaches. Kevin, who had suffered from chronic migraines for years, describes how chiropractic adjustments helped reduce his migraines significantly. By addressing spinal misalignments and relieving tension in the neck and upper back, Kevin was able to experience fewer migraines and improved quality of life.
The Relaxing Experience of Chiropractic Care
One of the unique aspects of chiropractic care is the deep sense of relaxation it provides. Many patients report feeling immediate relief and relaxation following an adjustment, as tension in the body is released. At Dr-Zeke.com, we emphasize the calming and soothing effects of chiropractic treatments. Whether youâre seeking relief from pain or simply looking to maintain your health and wellness, our expert chiropractors offer a welcoming, stress-free environment where you can experience the benefits of chiropractic care in a comfortable setting.
The relaxation achieved through chiropractic care can be likened to a spa experience for your spine. With each adjustment, the bodyâs nervous system becomes more balanced, leading to reduced stress and improved overall well-being.
Why Choose Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment option that addresses the root causes of pain and discomfort rather than just masking symptoms. Many patients turn to chiropractic care for its holistic approach, as it not only targets physical pain but also works to improve overall health. Regular chiropractic adjustments can help maintain spinal health, enhance immune function, and improve energy levels.
Additionally, chiropractic care offers long-term benefits. Many individuals choose chiropractic care for preventative reasons, as it helps maintain optimal alignment and function of the spine, preventing future injuries and promoting overall wellness.

These professionals offer services that not only address pain but also enhance overall wellness and mobility, making them a go-to option for anyone seeking comprehensive healthcare solutions without relying on medications or surgery.
Holistic Approach to Pain Management
Chiropractors focus on treating the whole body rather than just alleviating symptoms. Chiropractic in Calgary addresses the root cause of pain by improving spinal alignment, which plays a critical role in the body's nervous system and overall health. By correcting misalignments, chiropractors help the body heal naturally, providing a sustainable approach to pain management that supports long-term wellness.
A visit to a chiro wellness center provides more than just adjustments. Here, patients can receive a variety of treatments, including relaxation massages that help relieve muscle tension and reduce stress. These massages often complement chiropractic adjustments, allowing the body to better adapt to changes made during treatments and improving the overall impact of care.
Personalized Care Plans
Every patient is unique, and so is their journey to recovery. Calgary chiropractors offer personalized treatment plans designed to cater to each individualâs needs. By taking into account your medical history, lifestyle, and specific concerns, chiropractors create a plan that focuses on your unique challenges. This tailored approach ensures more effective results, whether you're seeking relief from chronic back pain, neck discomfort, or headaches.
Chiropractors often incorporate advanced tools such as Kinotek into their treatment plans. This technology enables precise motion analysis, providing real-time insights into your body's movements, strengths, and weaknesses. With these insights, your chiropractor can adjust treatment strategies to enhance mobility, reduce pain, and improve alignment.
Chiropractic Treatments for All Ages
Chiropractic care is a safe and effective treatment option for people of all ages, from infants to seniors. Pediatric chiropractic care can help alleviate common childhood issues like colic, ear infections, and sleep disturbances. For adults, chiropractic treatment can address a range of conditions such as sciatica, migraines, and sports injuries. And for seniors, chiropractic care can help manage age-related issues like arthritis and mobility challenges, contributing to a better quality of life.
A Calgary chiro is trained to modify techniques to meet the specific needs of each age group, making chiropractic care a flexible and adaptable form of healthcare. This versatility allows families to rely on chiropractic care throughout their lives, as the care grows and changes to meet their evolving health needs.
Natural Pain Relief with Minimal Side Effects
One of the primary reasons people turn to chiropractic care is to manage pain naturally. Unlike pharmaceutical treatments, chiropractic care offers a non-addictive, drug-free approach. This makes it especially attractive for individuals who want to avoid the side effects and risks associated with pain medications.
Chiropractors are skilled in techniques that provide immediate relief, such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapies, and posture correction. For patients seeking additional relief, many chiro wellness centers offer services such as relaxation massage, which enhances the bodyâs natural healing mechanisms. These therapies work together to create a comprehensive pain management solution that doesnât rely on invasive procedures or synthetic medications.
Proven Benefits for Athletes and Active Individuals
For athletes and active individuals, maintaining peak physical condition is essential, and chiropractic care has become a popular choice in this community. Chiropractors understand the physical demands of athletic activity and are trained to treat sports injuries, improve performance, and prevent future injuries.
Using Kinotek technology, chiropractors can assess an athleteâs body mechanics and identify areas of strain or weakness. By addressing these issues early on, chiropractors can help athletes improve flexibility, strength, and resilience. Many professional sports teams and athletes rely on chiropractors to help them stay in top shape, reduce recovery times, and enhance their performance.
Improved Mobility and Flexibility
Poor posture, prolonged sitting, and repetitive movements can lead to stiffness and a reduction in mobility over time. Chiropractic care effectively addresses these issues by restoring spinal alignment and balance. Adjustments and other chiropractic techniques promote flexibility and range of motion, making everyday activities easier and more comfortable.
For people who struggle with chronic pain conditions management, such as arthritis, chiropractic care can be an invaluable tool for improving movement and reducing stiffness. With each visit, your Calgary chiropractor will work with you to help restore optimal movement in your joints, so you can enjoy a better quality of life and maintain your independence.
Enhanced Nervous System Function
The spine houses the central nervous system, and its alignment is essential for proper nerve function. Misalignments can create pressure on nerves, leading to pain, numbness, and a variety of health issues. Chiropractic adjustments correct these misalignments, improving nervous system function and allowing the body to operate at its best.
Chiropractors in Calgary are trained to work with the delicate structures of the spine to relieve this nerve pressure, leading to improved health outcomes for many patients. Whether you're dealing with a specific issue like sciatica or simply want to boost your overall wellness, chiropractic care offers a powerful means of enhancing nervous system health.
Stress Relief and Improved Mental Health
Chronic pain and discomfort can take a toll on mental health, leading to increased stress, anxiety, and even depression. Chiropractic care not only alleviates physical pain but also helps manage stress and improve mental well-being. Regular chiropractic visits promote relaxation, balance, and emotional stability, which are essential for mental health.
At a chiro wellness center, treatments such as relaxation massages play a key role in reducing stress levels. Massage therapy complements chiropractic adjustments by calming the nervous system, easing muscle tension, and helping the body release endorphins, which improve mood and promote a sense of well-being.
Boosted Immune System
A healthy nervous system is directly connected to a healthy immune system. By ensuring proper spinal alignment, chiropractic care supports your bodyâs ability to fight off illness. This is especially beneficial for individuals with compromised immune systems or those who are frequently exposed to viruses and bacteria.
Regular visits to a Calgary chiropractor can strengthen your immune system, providing you with an added layer of protection against seasonal illnesses and common infections. The chiropractic approach to health fosters a resilient body, ready to face whatever comes its way.
Accessible and Affordable Care
Compared to other forms of healthcare, chiropractic services are often more affordable and accessible. Many chiropractic centers in Calgary offer payment plans or work with insurance providers, making it easier for individuals to access the care they need. The cost-effective nature of chiropractic care allows patients to receive ongoing support without facing financial strain, making it a practical solution for pain management and wellness.

your head is not supposed to be constantly throbbing in your temples or anywhere else. especially after sudden changes in sound and light. if you have consistent headaches up to 3 times a week, headaches that are debilitating, headaches that make it significantly hard for you to work, or when you need to sit in a dark room and sleep for several hours to feel better, or no pain killers are helping. you probably have migraines. see a doctor.
things that can help with migraines! being in a dark room, sleep, face masks (i can link the one iâm getting), green light if you have colored bulbs, ice, have a heated weighted stuffed animal on your neck, and sometimes baths.
breathing is supposed to be easy and natural. it should not be labored. if it is extremely hard to breathe when youâre exercising, and almost impossible when youâre having an anxiety or panic attack, you might have asthma. see a doctor. if theyâre like mine, theyâll give you an emergency inhaler to try out and if it works theyâll go from there. i only figured out i had asthma within the last few years even though my dad does, i always just thought i was out of shape and if doctorâs think not being able to breath is only related to anxiety, they wonât take it seriously.
things that can help with asthma: obviously inhalers and if you have them use them. if not and even if so, breathing exercises and mediation can help a lot. i know it sounds like bs but it can help calm your body down when needed and it makes it easier to do something like get your inhaler or figure out a way to communicate that to others.
joint pain for no reason is not normal! your legs should not be constantly cracking! you could have arthritis, or some other issue. either way, you can find a way to manage your pain, or consider getting a wrist, ankle, knee, or hip brace, wherever it is needed.
most people have consistent moods! most peopleâs moods do not plummet suddenly because of other people, and donât go through funks where theyâre stuck in a mood for a month or more. if your moods are all over the place, and you experience symptoms of mania and depression, please talk to a counselor. i will make no attempt to say what it could be because thereâs so many mood disorders and i donât want to lead anyone astray. (disclaimer: be careful what you say to a therapist or psychiatrist. if they believe you are in immediate danger they are likely to hospitalize you.)
agreeing with dyscalculia thing from earlier. numbers shouldnât be switching places. if you do math, 50 shouldnât be turning to 150 on a regular, or addition/subtraction or multiplication/division getting confused.
it is not normal to feel so dizzy you might pass out after standing up or for no reason. you could have low iron.
if you have extreme sensitivity to light, noise, sound, taste, texture, and more to the point that it is disruptive, it makes it hard to think, and it is highly distressing, you like have some form of sensory processing disorder, possibly related to autism.
finally! i am not a doctor and i am assuming no one else here is. this is an attempt to guide you in the right direction. i was under the impression that doctors will just tell you what is wrong with you, but they donât know anything unless you tell them. i had to tell a doctor, i have asthma, and i have migraines, and then eventually they agreed with me after i explained and that made things a lot more simple than me just describing my symptoms and giving them room to take me less seriously. i had a therapist tell me once, if it looks like *x* and it smells like *x*, itâs probably *x*.
the migraine mask iâm getting
I wish they taught a class on what being a normal human is like
Like, the normal amount of pain is zero. The normal amount of wishing you werenât ever born is zero. Food isnât supposed to itch or hurt*. Going numb (any time outside sitting in one position too long) isnât normal. Passing out isnât normal. Normal people take like 10-20 minutes to fall asleep, and sleep like 6-9 hours. Youâre supposed to get one period a month, which is manageable with a few tampons or pads a day and lasts 3-6 days.
These are all things I had to find out later, like a moron.
(fibromyalgia, depression, allergies, cataplexy, narcolepsy, PCOS and endometriosis)
*spicy food is supposed to hurt?

Effective TMJ Splint Treatment in Chandigarh: Relieve Jaw Pain at Face & Neck Surgery
Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders are common conditions that affect the jaw and the muscles controlling jaw movement. These disorders can lead to pain, headaches, difficulty chewing, and even jaw locking. If you are seeking TMJ Splint in Chandigarh, look no further than Face & Neck Surgery, where expert care is provided to alleviate your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
Understanding TMJ Disorders
The temporomandibular joint connects your jawbone to your skull, allowing movements like talking, chewing, and yawning. However, when this joint is misaligned or damaged, it can result in significant discomfort and dysfunction. TMJ disorders may arise due to injury, arthritis, bruxism (teeth grinding), or stress. Symptoms often include:
Jaw pain or tenderness
Clicking or popping sounds when moving the jaw
Difficulty in opening or closing the mouth
Headaches or earaches
TMJ Splint Therapy: A Non-Surgical Solution
TMJ splint therapy is a non-invasive treatment used to realign the jaw and relieve tension in the muscles. A TMJ splint is a custom-made oral appliance, often resembling a mouthguard, that is worn either during the day or night. The splint works by stabilizing the jaw, reducing grinding or clenching, and allowing the TMJ to rest and heal naturally.
Benefits of TMJ Splint Therapy
Pain Relief: Alleviates the constant pressure and strain on the TMJ and surrounding muscles.
Prevents Teeth Grinding: Helps reduce wear and tear on teeth caused by bruxism.
Improves Jaw Function: Enables smoother movement of the jaw without clicking or locking.
Non-invasive: Unlike surgery, splint therapy is a conservative, reversible treatment option.
