An Egyptian Faience Ushabti for Horiraa Late Period, 26th Dynasty, 664-525 B.C.

This ushabti was made for Overseer of the Antechamber, Horiraa. An important court official during the 26th Dynasty, Reign of Pharaoh Necho II, he was tutor to the pharaoh's successor Psamtik II. Also referred to as Neferibrenefer (Psamtik II is beautiful), his intact tomb was discovered in 1830 just south of the Step Pyramid at Saqqara. The tomb contained hundreds of ushabtis which have been characterized by their grey-green color and fine modelling. Although many of these ushabtis can be found in major American and European Museums today, few are as fine as the one seen here.

ddd traverse town is really cool crossover wise because its two different worlds, the one where sora is in, and the one riku is in (soras dream). and they both talk a lot about trusting the other on the other side. so basically even though theyre not in the reapers game theyre essentially functioning like partners where you need one because you have to destroy the noise in two zones. and the game implies this!! with every partner duo being separated and trying to find their way to each other. its specifically like ds twewy where neku and his partner are on different screens, they cant see each other and they both have to trust that the person on the other side will be able to defeat the noise. AND theres a boss that switches between the worlds like how the boss switches between top and bottom screens on the ds. really cool. of course the game about sora and rikus relationship and the (nonexistent) distance between them will use tw3wy to show that theyre partners with endless trust in each other.

King’s cartouches are normally a sign affiliation for male courtiers; it is strange to see them on a nude female figure, and that she apparently also wore the uraeus. While nude female figurines have been for some time understood as requests for birth and rebirth based on texts on a few, new evidence has expanded our understanding, relating examples found in temples to the efficacy of rituals and magical cures and pointing to their identification with numerous goddesses. This magnificent figure might best be understood in relation to the important role of the God’s Wife of Amun at Thebes. In the Saite period she was the daughter of a king established as the god’s consort and responsible for stimulating his generative powers for the good of all.

Day 4: Dreams

The sleeping worlds are their safe haven - a peaceful place few others will ever go, where they can be comforted by colourful critters that satiate their loneliness. After all, all three have lost the people they cared for - Rowan, his trusted and only friend; Nyx, the mentors who raised her; Shiro, their close family. So in dreams, they're able to take some time out of the real world and ignore those feelings. Just for a while. They'd call it a pipe dream to have it be their reality, but none can say they hadn't idly wished to reclaim their lost people. In essence, they dream of a more peaceful, innocent life surrounded by loved ones.

The dream eaters don't quite understand the quiet misery shared by the three, but they know they want to combat it. An energetic Majik Lapin accompanies Nyx, and they love the challenge of keeping up with it while racing between different adventures. A lazy Necho Cat stays with Rowan, and it brings a lump to his throat to see something so similar in both nature and behaviour to his old Chirithy. A proud Ryu Dragon follows Shiro, and they love its tendency to show off with extravagant flying tricks - they definitely boast of its cool feats to the other two.
