HAH I said Rebecca was evil since day 1!!! It was so obvious! She’s not that sneaky!!!
But fuck Neal is in the trenches. Life ruined. Heart broken. Sarah moved and he let her go, Kate is dead and he couldn’t save her, Rebecca was playing him all along, and Peter is treating him like shit.
Peter needs to quit being god’s worst partner and friend. Like stg Elizabeth is carrying the 8% chance of this not ending in the most catastrophic tragedy of all kind on her BACK. Every single scene she’s like “Honey aren’t you being really unfair to Neal?” and she’s the only voice in that corner Elizabeth it’s just you. Bases loaded 2 outs last inning we’re all praying for you babe

Atlas meets Ivan - Drabble
So, I haven’t got any new pictures for you guys, have a short drabble instead. It was a gift for @babydollneko but she said I could upload it here too :)
Moonlight filtered through the thin clouds overhead illuminating speckles drifting through the late-night air. Hard shingles stole the warmth through Atlas’ shirt, prompting shivers. He lazily took note of his leg dangling over the musty gutter pipe. A clean was long over due but the negligence was understandable, it was no simple task to clean the top of a three-story house. Hoisting himself into a sitting position, Atlas stretched his arms in front of him until there was a satisfying crack.
He wasn’t sure how long his nap had lasted but he felt refreshed enough. It was late afternoon when the summer heat left him lazing about, but that didn’t mean much to him. He had also been sprawled on Lady Clara’s ornate lounge, enjoying the firmness of the well-maintained upholstery and the gentle breeze tussling his bangs. To find himself waking on the roof of an unknown building in an unknown street was not how he expected the day to go. Surprising as it was, there was little mystery. Many an adventure in his youth was prompted by accidentally teleporting somewhere in his sleep. It was kind of like sleep walking, but with more stress for Lady Clara. He glanced at his wrist only to remember he had taken off his stylish purple gloves and accompanying compass cuff earlier in the day. This was going to make things more difficult. Oh well, no use sitting around worrying. Scaling down the building with relative ease, he decided to just explore for a little while. It’d be a shame to waste the opportunity. Lady Clara was forever scolding him for roaming around like some tom cat. ‘Come home straight away!’ she’d say. ‘You’re never where you’re supposed to be! Disappearing to who knows where whenever the fancy takes you! Honestly, it’s a wonder I haven’t locked the doors by now!’ Translated roughly, she meant ‘I worry when you disappear, so I want you to come straight back.’ Atlas grinned into his knuckles. She was a funny lady, but certainly good quality. He was an adult now – more or less – and she had relaxed some. It helped that he wasn’t under her constant care and supervision anymore. Still, he’d just have a little look around, then head back. Or, at least, a little look, then try to work out where he would be coming back from. His current location was less important than where he wanted to be, but knowing it would probably help. Music pulsed faintly in the distance, a faint throb indicative of a nightclub type place. Given the back-alley vibes he was getting and the apparent late hour, the club would probably be inhabited primarily by drunks. Atlas sighed. He didn’t want to go amongst drunk people. It was probably the best bet for finding someone to ask his location. Ambling away, he put his money on the opposite direction. Going for the easiest route? Where was the adventure in that?
He must have been a fair way away from Lady Clara’s house. The wind carried a bite more tenacious than that of a summer. Atlas lamented the absence of his favourite dark grey coat. The fur trim, purple of course, was luxuriously soft and oh so fluffy. He really couldn’t complain though, years of waking up in unusual places ensured he was always reasonably covered when he rested. As funny as it would have been, he would not have appreciated exploring in only his boxers.
It wasn’t until the music had faded entirely, replaced with a cricket orchestra more suited to the country than such a populated area, that Atlas finally saw another person. A man, not much older than himself, busied himself opening the large roller doors of a … warehouse, maybe? The mechanisms made such a racket he didn’t notice Atlas approaching him. It was at this point Atlas realised he probably should have tried reading one of the street signs, he had no idea what the common language was here. Hoping it was one he knew, he cleared his throat, immediately catching the other man’s attention. Fabric spun and metal flashed. The knife stopping a mere finger’s width from Atlas’ skin. The two men appraised one another momentarily. This man, decidedly less harmless then Atlas first assumed, was slightly taller than him. His dark hair spiked from his head in organised chaos, complimented by a dark hoody and calculated grin. His teeth were clearly sharp, more so than Atlas’ unusually animalistic ones. Offering a placating smile, Atlas raised his palms to the man. He meant no harm. The switchblade returned to it’s hiding place in one smooth movement but remained at hand. The man’s posture relaxed, replaced with an easy confidence. Most reasonable people would be put off, intimidated even, by a man exuding danger and standing in front of a gaping maw of black. Unfortunately, Atlas was not a terribly reasonable person at times. ‘Foolish’ was almost a nickname at this point. He wasn’t stupid, but, out in the open as they were, he had many escape routes should things go sour. He lowered his hands, resting one in the pocket of his tailored shorts, and waving a greeting with the other. “What are you doing out here?” Ah, English. He knew that one. Lucky~ “Hello,” More accent than he would like, but good enough, “I got a little lost. Would you mind helping me? My name is Atlas, Atlas Mao.” The man tilted his head, lips pursed. “You’ve got cat ears.” It was a question in the form of a statement. “Yep.” He wiggled his ears for emphasis. The man’s grin grew. “Tail too. It was a matching set situation.” Even though he had kept it politely low, he was pretty sure the man had already noticed. The man’s hazel (maybe? It was hard to tell in the dark) eye’s glittered with excitement. “You don’t have … cat people here?” A shake of a head said no. That was unusual, he’d never been to a place where there were no Tainted people. Maybe he was even further than he thought. “Can I touch them?” “P-pardon?” “Your ears. I want to touch them.” The man reached out eagerly. There was a child-like enthusiasm that dampened the automatic ‘no’. Sighing inwardly, Atlas relented and nodded. That’s how he ended up being pet softly in the middle of the night by a very strange man. The plan to wait until his novelty had run its course and then find out where he was, was a bust. The enjoyment the man got appeared to be endless. Being told he was adorable was something he had gotten used to, it becomes necessary when your face becomes a brand, however having someone coo at him in the middle of the night was a bit much. An embarrassed flush crept up his neck as he put some distance between himself and the man. Luckily, he didn’t seem too disappointed, instead pointing out another of Atlas’ peculiarities. “You’re floating.” “Yeah. I don’t want to walk. The floor is really dirty, and my shoes are at home.” He wasn’t that high. Maybe a few inches off the ground. The man narrowed his eyes, considering Atlas again. “You’re not from here, are you?” Finally. He didn’t mind this man, he didn’t know him well enough to decide that he liked him yet, but it felt like some kind of backwards Alice in Wonderland scenario. Given he was the floating cat and all. He really couldn’t stay much longer, he’d promised Lady Clara he’d be in her photoshoot tomorrow. “No. I’m lost. Do you have a map and a compass I could borrow, uh…” “Ivan. You can call me Ivan.” He leaned in closer “I mean it call me.” Atlas didn’t know how to respond to either the wink or the playful nudge. “I’ve got those back home, but I gotta do something first.” He entered the abys of the warehouse, calling over his shoulder. “My cat got out, so I’ve gotta find him before we go back.” Nothing else to do, Atlas followed him in, offering to help search.
The deceptively small light on Ivan’s phone lit up a large chunk of the building. How did the phone have a light in it to begin with? Atlas knew there were some technological leaps lately, but wow! Debris was scattered all over the place. Leaves piled wherever the broken roof permitted. A dry, dusty smell filled the air, clinging to the backs of their throats. With all of the shadows and hidey holes, the chances of finding a cat were slim. Even with his sensitive ears, Atlas couldn’t detect anything other than the scuttling of bugs avoiding Ivan’s light. He strained his eyes but there was neither hide nor hair of any mammal. He was about to tell Ivan that he might want to look else where, but the man cut him off, bellowing “KING CRUNCH!” Evidently, Atlas wasn’t the only one to jump out of their skin. The boxes in the far corner began to rustle in response. Ivan ran over, letting out a proclamation of triumph. “I found my cat!” He dragged an angry, hissing creature from it’s nest, returning to Atlas with a massive smile. Beady eyes glared venomous hatred at Atlas. Little round ears were slicked back and grabby hands scrambled in the air, desperate for a victim. The grey-brown fur bristled like needles. That wasn’t a cat. The raccoon seemed to accept its fate, slumping in Ivan’s arms and chattering murder under its breath. Ivan was positively beaming. “Alright, I got my cat, we can go back. Somehow, he always get’s out when the Bae’s there. It’s weird, I know he likes King Crunch. Who wouldn’t?” Atlas couldn’t help but find Ivan’s clear affection towards his ‘cat’ very sweet. “Why’s he in a jacket?” The fact that the studded leather suited the raccoon was as undeniable as the ridiculousness of addressing raccoon fashion. What an interesting night it was turning out to be. “Oh, that. I tried to put a collar on him, so no one steals him, y’know, but he just kept getting it off. Neal got the jacket made for him so I would” he air quoted stop moaning about the stupid collar. Good thing King Crunch is so fat, he can’t get his jacket off. No one’s going to mistake him for a stray cat now. I’d have ta kill them if they did though.” He laughed jovially.

Epilogue
"Come on...you need to get that lock open now," Cane growled to his subordinate, as he attempted to pick it. He had already gotten the rest of them out and were now trying to free their boss.
"I've almost got it," he insisted.
"Boss...shouldn't we wait? I mean, our army is still at least an hour out," another said.
"I don't care! No one humiliates me and gets away with it. And the ones that put me in here are going to be the first to pay," he promised, as the lock snapped open and he filed out.
"Time to kill some rats," Cane hissed.
~*~
"You think Tamara was the mole?" Snow asked, as she spotted the unconscious woman on the floor.
"We think so and Greg is bad news too. Hopefully we won't have to worry about that too much longer," Emma said, as they finished gathering a few essentials and then made their way back out to the square.
"How is he?" Emma asked, as they approached Whale, who had Hook on a stretcher.
"He made it through surgery. If we stay here, he has a shot if infection doesn't set in, but it's not a guarantee. If we make it back to a place with magic, then he can be healed," Whale told them. Snow nodded, as she saw them hurrying to them in the distance.
"Charming…" she called to him, as he was busy getting everyone lined up. He hurried to her and they waited with bated breath.
"It worked!" Belle exclaimed and Snow cried out in relief, as the two hugged tightly.
"We're going home?" she asked. Belle nodded.
"We're going to make it," she said happily. David smiled and caught his wife, as she jumped into his arms. He laughed and kissed her soundly.
"You two can make out later. Let's blow this Popsicle stand," Emma said, as she and Regina each took one of Henry's hands.
"Okay...this is it everyone. The portal should stay open long enough for everyone to go through as long as we keep moving through it. No dawdling or hesitation," David advised, before nodding to Rumple. He tossed it to the ground and a large swirling green portal opened. People began pouring through it, just as they heard a gunshot. David ducked and covered Snow with his body, as the maniac fired his gun.
"Go…" he urged.
"I'm not leaving without you," she refused, as she stood up and drew an arrow from her quiver. Aiming expertly, she landed one directly in Cane's chest, but unfortunately not in his heart. Still, the wound sent him tumbling to the ground, screaming in agony.
"Nice shot…" David complimented, as he pulled her back down, as his men started firing their guns at them.
"Keep going!" David called to everyone else, as they kept filing through the open portal. They heard the firing stop and Snow threaded another arrow, picking one off and then another, just as Cane struggled to get to his feet. They watched him pull the arrow out of his chest, with no small amount of pain and break it in his bare hand.
"If you thought I was going to make you two pay before...then you haven't seen anything yet," he growled, as he loaded another clip in his gun.
"Mom...Dad...that's almost everyone. Let's go!" Emma called. They got up and started toward their daughter, but Cane sprayed bullets in their direction.
"Dammit...we are not losing everything because of this prick," David growled, as he drew his sword. But Cane approached them and looked down at them smugly.
"Oh...this is going to be fun. I'm curious to see which one of you will scream the most. Let's find out, shall we?" he asked.
"Hey creepo!" Emma shouted, getting his attention, just in time for him to find himself impaled with a dwarf pickaxe, thanks to their daughter and Grumpy. They looked back at her and she hurried them to her. David swiped his blade, killing the final guy and they looked at Cane, as he lay bleeding to death with no pity. Without him, perhaps the people of this world would now have a fighting chance and now they would take theirs.
"I just got you guys…I'm not losing you now," she said. They smiled at her and they followed Neal and Grumpy through the portal, just as it closed…
~*~
One Year Later
Things were not perfect upon their return to the Enchanted Forest. There was a lot of rebuilding to be done, but that was decidedly easier with magic. Their experiences together in an apocalyptic Storybrooke had proven to strengthen the prominent ties between them all that were already there and the family they had built together stuck.
Regina used her magic to rebuild their castle and in turn, Snow and David decided that the three of them could jointly rule both Kingdoms together. This naturally made Henry very happy and he split his time between his grandparent's castle where Emma lived with them, Regina's castle, and the Dark Castle, which was a lot less dark now with Belle and Neal under the roof.
Emma and Neal were dating and rebuilding their relationship. They were in no hurry to marry and liked things they way they were, as they co-parented their son with Regina. Belle and Rumple were very happy as well, as he had finally learned that he did in fact love her more than magic. He was very glad to have it back, but had realized that their experience without magic meddling in their relationship was a priceless venture. It had taught him a lot and though he would always crave power, he had his son back and was able to ease away from using it as a crutch.
For Snow and Charming, they continued to build their relationship with Emma and were closer than ever now that they no longer had to worry about the harsh realities of the post apocalyptic world they had escaped. No one was surprised though, least of all Emma, when Snow discovered that she was pregnant shortly after they had gotten back.
Emma was happy for her parents, ensuring them that didn't begrudge them the opportunity to grow their family and keenly pointed out that had they raised her as they planned, she probably would have had a bunch of siblings anyway, so it was about damn time.
"Hey buddy…" Emma cooed to her baby brother. She was dressed in a red ball gown, only because Snow had begged her, and saw the people gathering in the courtyard below the balcony. Her baby brother wore a christening-type robe, while her mother donned a beautiful white gown with gold embellishments, along with her mother's tiara.
"So...you're going to present him to the Kingdom on that balcony?" Emma asked curiously. She nodded.
"It's what we would have done for you had we raised you here," David said, as he approached, dressed in a velvety red tunic with gold embellishments, black leather pants, and boots. Snow smiled at him and they shared a tender kiss.
"On the balcony...like the Lion King?" Emma asked and David chuckled.
"No...not like the Lion King," Snow chided. Emma raised an eyebrow.
"Okay...a little like the Lion King," she relented, as they shared a smile and Snow handed their son to him.
"Mom!" Henry called, as he rushed to her.
"Whoa kid...looking handsome," she complimented, as Neal arrived.
"Wow...you in a ballgown," he complimented.
"Yeah, don't get used to it, Cassidy," she teased.
Rumple and Belle followed him in, him in a royal blue coat and white pants and her in a golden dress. Belle hugged them both, while Rumple and David shared a curt nod.
"Is it time?" Henry asked.
"Almost...we're not all quite here yet," Snow replied.
"Sorry I'm late…" Regina said. Those same words had once cast fear into their hearts, but that time was long passed, as Regina was now a loved member of their family.
"Where's your outlaw?" Snow whispered to her coyly.
"That's none of your business," Regina refuted playfully.
"But he's the reason your late," Snow said knowingly. Regina smirked.
"Maybe and you would know. It's a good reason to be late," she said.
"Agreed," Snow replied, as they approached the balcony.
"Thank you all for coming," Snow announced, as those that gathered quieted.
"We have all seen some trying times and just a year ago, we faced the very real possibility that our future could be cut short," Snow announced.
"But we made it because we pulled together as a family and learned that nothing is impossible when you have love on your side," David continued.
"Recently, our family has grown and we are here to introduce the Kingdom to our newest member, but first, we would like to present our first born to you," Snow said, surprising Emma.
"It's a little late...but things didn't go as planned when she was born. We were separated from her and she grew up without us, something we will always deeply regret," David said, making her tear up.
"But then she found us and saved us. We present to you, our daughter, Princess Emma," Snow announced, as there was applause.
"And our son...Prince Benjamin," David announced, as there was more applause. Their son's blue eyes were wide as he looked around and awed at the fireworks that his sister and Regina created in the sky. Not one to be outdone, Rumple added a few of his own and they watched the display together. Snow and David looked at each other, love shining in their eyes as their lips met tenderly. Ben cooed between them, not at all impressed at being ignored.
"You better get used to it, kid. They do this a lot," Emma commented. Snow and David's lips parted, as they chuckled.
"And if we didn't do this a lot and some other stuff, you two wouldn't be here," David argued.
"Too much information, dad," Emma complained. But Snow and David only shared a smile and cuddled close, as they held their son and enjoyed being with their family. This was never quite the happy ending they envisioned for sure, but it was so much better than any of them could have imagined. The best part was...it wasn't the ending and only the beginning of very long, happy lives. And then, a very long and happy eternity, for years meant nothing when you shared eternal love.
The End.

Week 4 DFS Plays
Quarterbacks
Premium Playmaker – Philip Rivers vs. San Francisco 49ers
Rivers is currently tied for third in passing touchdowns in the league. If Mahomes was not having the hot start to his season that he is having, he would be tied for second. Rivers faced a tough Rams secondary last week, but his match-up against the 49ers this week is very exploitable. Although there is a chance San Francisco may rally behind the loss of Garoppolo, Rivers is too good of a quarterback to fall victim to that rallying effort. He should be able to pick apart this 49ers porous secondary with ease.
Other options: Drew Brees vs. New York Giants, Aaron Rodgers vs. Buffalo Bills
Bargain Baller – Andy Dalton vs Atlanta Falcons
Offensive coordinator, Bill Lazor, is reviving Dalton’s career in Cincinnati. Through three weeks this year, Dalton is fifth in fantasy points. He gets to possibly rise in that ranking as he faces an Atlanta Falcons team that has suffered some serious losses to their defense. Not only did they lose starters Keanu Neal and Deion Jones in week 1, but they just lost another starter in Ricardo Allen last week. This means Dalton will get his chance to feast which means that he becomes a great value choice to build your DFS roster.
Other options: Russell Wilson vs. Arizona Cardinals, Baker Mayfield vs. Oakland Raiders
Running Backs
Premium Playmaker – Alvin Kamara vs. New York Giants
Is there really anything else that needs to be said about Kamara? He can run, he can catch, he can leap tall buildings in a single bound…ok, maybe that last one isn’t true. That still doesn’t diminish the fact that he has become one of the elite players in the NFL. His rushing line last week was rather pedestrian with 16 attempts for 66 yards. The real shocker was the 20 targets he got in the passing game, converting 15 of those for 129 yards. His involvement is evident in the Saints offense and a match-up against a weak Giants defense will offer no resistance to Kamara having another big day at the office. Pay the high-amount for him because even at such a high-cost, his return is going to be astronomical.
Other options: Jordan Howard vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ezekiel Elliott vs. Detroit Lions
Bargain Baller – James White/Sony Michel vs. Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins are going to give the New England Patriots a surprising run for the AFC East division crown. So while everyone may be picking the Dolphins to upset the Patriots on Sunday, that doesn’t mean you should avoid Patriots players in fantasy and daily fantasy lineups. White will get heavy involvement in the passing game as the Patriots have no reliable options besides Rob Gronkowski (for at least one more week).
While White will lead the backfield with passing targets, Michel will be the leading rusher. Rex Burkhead was just put on the injured reserve list and this gives the rookie a chance to establish his role in the Patriots backfield. Both players are solid cheap options this week and can really pay big dividends in both cash and tournament contests.
Other options: Carlos Hyde vs. Oakland Raiders, Javorius “Buck” Allen vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Wide Receivers
Premium Playmaker – Odell Beckham Jr. vs New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints finished 2017 as a top-10 fantasy defense. Clearly, this year’s defense is not as high-caliber. This is a perfect opportunity for Beckham to garner a serious number of receptions and receiving yards. Another boon to the fantasy stock for Beckham is the injury to starting tight end, Evan Engram. Now there may be some hesitation as the pocket is not always there for Eli Manning to throw the ball with time on his side. This may make you a little more wary for choosing Beckham, but this match-up with the Saints is too appealing to pass up. Currently, the Saints have five sacks through three games and four of them have come from Cameron Jordan. If the Giants can contain Jordan, Manning can feed Beckham more than enough times to make him a solid addition to your fantasy roster. Start OBJ with confidence!
Other options: Michael Thomas vs. New York Giants, Jarvis Landry vs. Oakland Raiders, A.J. Green vs. Atlanta Falcons, DeAndre Hopkins vs. Indianapolis Colts
Bargain Baller – Tyler Boyd vs. Atlanta Falcons
We already talked about how Dalton is a great frugal option this week and that leads to Boyd being a solid cost-saving option as well. The speedster John Ross has yet to emerge in the Cincinnati passing offense and all the while Boyd has come in and become a reliable option to pair with A.J. Green. He currently leads the team in receiving yards and has been able to take advantage of the opposing defense on a weekly basis. This week 4 game against the Falcons can help boost Boyd’s fantasy value and his pricing this week is too good to pass up. Jump on this great value because his stock is rising every week.
Other options: Geronimo Allison vs. Buffalo Bills, Christian Kirk vs. Seattle Seahawks, Mike Williams vs. San Francisco 49ers, Tyler Lockett vs. Arizona Cardinals
Tight Ends
Premium Playmaker – Rob Gronkowski vs. Miami Dolphins
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks know that Gronkowski is the number one option in the New England passing offense. This will not change even with the return of Julian Edelman next week. Gronkowski is going against a surprisingly good Dolphins defense, but Gronk is a matchup nightmare for any defense. No need to worry about getting enough opportunities to get some fantasy points, Gronkowski is a sure-fire start every single week. Worth the money because he will get targets by the droves and he will convert them into lots of yards, receptions, and a few touchdowns.
Other options: Zach Ertz vs. Tennessee Titans
Bargain Baller – Jimmy Graham vs. Buffalo Bills
Graham has yet to find the end zone in his 2018 campaign, but that will change in this week 4 battle against the Bills. Buffalo is riding high after pulling off the startling upset of the Minnesota Vikings last week. Although the defense looked good against the Vikings, the sustainability will not continue into week 4 and Graham should be able to rack up serious points. His pricing is low for this week because he has not been as productive as expected, but that will all change this Sunday. Take advantage of his low pricing this week and reap the rewards in tournament style contests.
Other options: Eric Ebron vs. Houston Texans, Trey Burton vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Defense/Special Teams (DST)
Premium Playmaker – Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets
The Jaguars defense is looking just as dynamic as they did last season. They currently have allowed only 44 total points through three weeks and are limiting opposing quarterbacks to only 513 total yards in that same span. Now even though their run defense is not as buttoned up, the advantage will be being able to force rookie Sam Darnold into throwing some passes he may not want to. The pass rush should be able to generate easy pressure and make Darnold turnover the ball a few times. This can lead to defensive scoring opportunities and getting lots of fantasy points by forcing turnovers and possibly getting into the end zone. Start the Jaguars defense and you will not be misled.
Other options: Los Angeles Chargers vs. San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tennessee Titans
Bargain Baller – Chicago Bears vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This might be the best bargain baller this week. The Bears are facing a quality offense in the Buccaneers, but this Bears defense is looking straight nasty. Khalil Mack is an early favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year award and the bigger thing that Mack is doing is raising the talent level of everyone else on the field for the Bears defense. Chicago will not fall apart in the second half like the Pittsburgh Steelers did on Monday night and this defense is going to an absolute steal this week. A very worthy option in all DFS contests because the value is through the roof. Don’t let the Bucs offense worry you, the Bears will have things locked down and they will have an answer for every trick the Tampa Bay offense will throw at them.
Other options: Cleveland Browns vs. Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions

Book Blitz: Grand Finale: Tangle of Strings by Ashley Farley (Giveaway)
On Tour with Prism Book Tours.
Book Tour Grand Finale for
Tangle of Strings
By Ashley Farley
We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops, go back and check them out now...
Launch - Note from the Author
I hope you’ll enjoy reading about the Sweeney sisters as much I’ve enjoyed writing about them. They are real women faced with everyday challenges, struggling to balance the demands of career and home while remaining true to themselves.
Reading Is My SuperPower - Spotlight
Katie's Clean Book Collection - Excerpt
Annie checked the clock on the dashboard. She had eight minutes to change into her work clothes, grab a snack, and still be on time for her after-school job at Captain Sweeney’s Seafood Market. She turned off the main road and zoomed down the wooded driveway toward the house. When she rounded the last bend, she saw Heidi leaning against the hood of her vintage turquoise Mustang.
Christy's Cozy Corners - Excerpt
Annie glared at her. “You gave up the right to call me honey, or any other term of endearment for that matter, when you abandoned me.” She tried to brush past Heidi, but she grabbed her by the arm.
Mel's Shelves - Excerpt
Annie yanked her arm away. “The decision was right for you at the time. A very selfish decision, I might add. You took off to Hollywood to chase your dreams of becoming a big movie star, and left me with a man who didn’t know how to scramble an egg or balance his checkbook, let alone raise a little girl.”
Zerina Blossom's Books - Excerpt
Annie stalked off toward her car, but Heidi teetered after her on spiked-heel booties. “You and I were getting along so well together back in December, before you found out who I was. We were becoming friends. We share so many things in common. I know we can build a life together based on that friendship. You can come live with me. I recently signed a lease on the second-floor apartment in a newly renovated old home down on Broad Street, on the Battery. I think you’ll like it. I even have an extra bedroom for you.”
Mythical Books - Excerpt
“I’m not your baby! You abandoned your baby sixteen years ago.” Shoving Heidi out of the way, Annie jumped into her car and struggled to fasten her seat belt. As she shot off down the driveway, she watched her mother slowly disappear in the rearview mirror. She careened onto Creekside Drive with barely a glance in either direction. Tears blurring her vision, she smacked her palms against the steering wheel. “Ugh! I hate her!”
Falling Leaves - Excerpt
He engaged his blue lights, preparing to pull her over, when the accident happened. Tires screeched and a horn blasted as the minivan swerved into Annie’s lane. The sounds of metal crunching and glass shattering filled the air as her Honda hit the front end of the minivan, bounced off the curb, flipped over, and landed on its roof.
Nicole's Book Musings - Excerpt
“Come here, you.” He pulled Sam from her chair and held her at arm’s length, taking her in from the top of her cropped blonde head to her dark-washed jeans and the pointy toes of her cowboy boots, relieved to see she hadn’t changed since breakfast. Sensing the worry behind her deep blue eyes, he wrapped his arms around her slight frame and buried his face in the soft spot at the crook of her neck. “You never know when you wake up in the morning what the day will bring.”
Buried Under Books - Review
"Tangle of Strings is another fine episode in Ms. Farley’s engaging series but I do suggest the series be read in order because each book builds on the one before and it’s the best way to fully understand the Sweeneys and other people in their lives. I’m sorry to say this appears to be the end of the Sweeney family saga but Ms. Farley has at least left us with the possibility of future installments and I’ll be very happy if that happens."
