National Milk Chocolate Day
Create yummy desserts, from cake to candy bars, with this light and creamy confectionery on Milk Chocolate Day and enjoy its mood-enhancing effects.
How is milk chocolate different from other chocolates? It’s a mix of cocoa solids and either dry or condensed milk. While dark chocolate is traditionally used as a baking ingredient, this lighter version is used to make chocolate candy bars, hot chocolate, and many other delicious desserts.
Did you know that chocolate actually has mood-enhancing benefits? That’s right—chocolate can make you happy! This is due to the fact that it contains a stimulant called theobromine and a compound called anandamide. Now that’s a reason to celebrate!
History of National Milk Chocolate Day
Daniel Peter, the inventor of milk chocolate, was born in the village of Moudon, located in the Canton of Vaud, in beautiful, mountainous Switzerland in 1836. Peter attended school and graduated there.
Later on in life, Daniel Peter had formed a strong friendship with his neighbor, Henry Nestle, who had settled in Vevey, Switzerland, about 1843. Nestle had developed a process to make baby food in which he used what was then called a “milky flour.” It was at this point in his life that Daniel Peter asked himself the question, “Why not try to make a chocolate containing milk?”
This idea stayed with the young Daniel Peter to the point of becoming an obsession with him. He further realized that in order to stay in the chocolate market, already principally controlled by Caliller, Suchard, Kohler, and others, he must produce a new product that would become
pleasing and desired by the consumer. It should be noted by all that since the early 20th century, the countries of Europe have been producing milk chocolate of varying qualities.
It should also be understood that the development of the process by Daniel Peter was created in the community of Vevey, with the Canton of Vaud, in Switzerland, and further pointed out that the first chocolate process, although not milk chocolate, was also created in Vevey, Switzerland, by Francois Louis Cailler, at the age of twenty-three, upon his return to that community from France and Italy in 1819.
Our research has found that National Milk Chocolate Day was started by the Confectioner’s Association.

Calling all chocolate lovers! National Milk Chocolate Day is celebrated annually on July 28. When solid chocolate is combined with either powdered, liquid or condensed milk; it’s known as milk chocolate. Milk chocolate is the most popular member of the chocolate family and with good reason. It’s creamy, smooth and mostly used in candy bars. It is believed that in the mid-1800s, milk chocolate was first created as a beverage in Germany. The first milk chocolate, in the form of a bar that we all recognize today, was created by Swiss chocolatier Daniel Peter while collaborating with Henri Nestlé, the founder of his Nestlé chocolate company.  So if you’re a true chocoholic, get ready to celebrate all things milk chocolate!

National Milk Chocolate Day Activities
Eat a candy bar
Bake a cake
Drink your chocolate
Since it's National Milk Chocolate Day, your task is a delicious one. Grab your favorite milk chocolate candy bar and enjoy.  With so many mouth-watering choices like caramel, coconut or cookie nugget — take your pick. Then, spend some time licking the melted good stuff off your fingers.
During the Victorian era, baking a cake was expensive because sweet ingredients like sugar, chocolates and exotic fruits, were considered   as luxuries. Only the nobility and the upper middle class could afford cakes for birthdays, weddings or holidays. As prices dropped, every special occasion included a cake, ideally made out of milk chocolate and stacked in multiple layers.
No kids allowed. Dessert cocktails are perfect when you’re having a chocolate craving. They’re rich, creamy and made to satisfy that sweet tooth. Your favorite alcoholic beverage can be a perfect complement to milk chocolate.
Why We Love National Milk Chocolate Day
It’s the perfect ingredient
It's sweet yet adaptable
Don't believe the negative hype about milk chocolate not being nutritious
Nothing gets us more excited to bake than the idea of whipping up  a milky, chocolaty dessert when we're done. Whether the recipe uses milk chocolate chips or a milk chocolate bar,  a chocolate craving provides the perfect excuse to create a decadent, totally self-indulgent treat. Chocolate pudding, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, a triple-layered cake, whatever, just as long as the main ingredient is milky, silky, chocolate. Don't forget to lick the bowl!
We all know you can eat the sweet treat but did you know there are other uses for it, too? Milk chocolate is sometimes used in products for hair and skin care because it  contains little-known ingredients that are beneficial to your skin. The level of antioxidant compounds in cocoa is higher than that of green tea, black tea or red wine.
Ok, so the nutritional benefits of milk chocolate are not as extensive as those found in dark chocolate. But milk chocolate still has a lot going for it. For example, milk chocolate gives you stamina because it stimulates your brain and your emotions. Also, eaten in moderation, milk chocolate gives our bodies the fat we need in our daily diet.

#NationalBiscuitDay – The Chocolate Digestive
Today was a struggle to find something to write about. I wanted to break up the streak of answering WordPress daily prompts by writing somewhat of a “slice of life” piece. I enjoy answering the daily prompts, as it does get you to think, but those type of posts do get pretty damn deep sometimes. I want you all to digest something a little bit different… and what a better way to do that then…

"A clinical trial studying severe allergic reactions in the U.K. is being called “life-transforming.”
Five United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS) hospitals are participating in the £2.5 million ($3.2 million) trial to help patients live with their food allergies.
The study is being funded by the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, Sky News reported. The foundation was formed in the memory of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who died in 2016 after eating a baguette that had sesame in it...
The trial is studying clinical oral immunotherapy treatments in which patients are given small doses of the food to which they are allergic to build up their tolerance. The food is given under medical supervision by trained staff, The Telegraph reported.
The study has 139 people participating who have allergies to peanuts or cow’s milk. They range in age from 2 to 23 years old, the BBC reported.
The Food Standards Agency said 2 million people in the U.K. have a diagnosed food allergy. In the U.S., about 5.5. million children have a food allergy, the National Institutes of Health reported.
One 11-year-old who was diagnosed with a severe peanut allergy when he was an infant can now eat six peanuts.
A 5-year-old with a milk allergy can drink 120 ml of milk every day and can enjoy a daily hot chocolate, the BBC reported.
“To have a patient who has had anaphylaxis [Note: Anaphylaxis is an allergic reaction so severe that it's potentially fatal without immediate treatment. It is very common with peanut allergies in particular. x] to 4mls of milk to then tolerate 90mls within six to eight months is nothing less than a miracle,” Sibel Donmez-Ajtai, a pediatric allergy consultant and principal investigator at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, said, according to Sky News.
The final results of the study are expected to be released in 2027.
Similar studies have been conducted in the U.S. To find one, visit FoodAllergy.org.
Earlier this year, the NIH released the findings of a study of an antibody treatment that would help children consume allergy triggers safely."

Happy National Ice Cream Month! President Reagan declared July National Ice Cream Month and July 15 (the third Sunday in July) National Ice Cream Day in 1984. Here are some sweet documents from our holdings. 🍦🍨
Tumblr media
Patent file for ice cream confection known as “Eskimo Pie.” (NARA ID 1404539)
This is the January 1922 patent of the now-iconic Eskimo Pie, an ice cream bar covered in chocolate. It was invented by Christian K. Nelson and the patent was co-assigned to Russell Stover.
Tumblr media
Good Humor Truck. (NARA ID 5916725)
Harry B. Burt created the Good Humor Bar, a chocolate-covered ice cream bar on a stick. To grow his business, he operated this Good Humor Truck that circulated until the 1970s.
Tumblr media
“Good Humor” Ice Cream Suckers Ad (NARA ID 5916723)
This Good Humor ad served as evidence in Good Humor Corporation of America v. The Popsicle Corporation of the United States and Joe Lowe Corporation. It was generally understood that Good Humor and Popsicle were distinct products. In 1925, the companies reached a licensing agreement that stated Popsicle could make products under 4.5 percent butter fat as a form of sherbet, although that term had no official definition. When Popsicle made a “Milk Popsicle” in 1931 containing 4.48 percent butter fat, Good Humor sued. Who won the heated competition? Find out in Prologue.

FHJSHKSKKWK YAY KATSUMI ASKS!!!!!!
Mine is: How’d he be if Darling was a gold digger in a AU and just married him for his sweet cash he and his family probably make from the nation wide dojo?
He stupid till the very end? He that delulu we love him or what?
Even better if we 🤰so he gotta be forced to give us alimony and that sweet child support if we leave him for richer prospects!!!!!
I’ll give you one better. Gold digger reader who doesn’t realize what she’s gotten herself into until it’s too late! Kind of a little horror piece.
Yandere Baki Shorts: Barking Up The Wrong Tree
Yandere Katsumi Orochi x Afab reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Katsumi would be delulu till the end. He’s smitten from the first day he met (your name) when she came to the dojo to learn karate. A pretty, foreign girl wanted to know karate? He’d be happy to teach her!
Katsumi hasn’t had much time to explore relationships since he was so busy with karate. (Your name) was the perfect opportunity and he was excited to get to know her. She was close in age and she was single too! Katsumi couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity!
Over time, the relationship develops with him. To him and all the other karatekas, (your name) is a precious lamb in need of protection. But in reality she is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She’s merely here to milk him of some of his money and then leave. She just didn’t think Katsumi would be so easy. Hell he was still a virgin.
(Your name) would pretend to be shy whenever Katsumi fixed her form. She would shyly glance away whenever his chest is revealed and she would act so innocent. Katsumi eats it up every. Single. Time. He can’t get enough.
So it’s no surprise when he asks her out on dates. He’s a the kind of guy who buys flowers and chocolates. The kind to hold doors open and pull out a chair out. He’s a total simp. The easiest target she has had so far.
(Your name) is so sweet to him and she didn’t mind that his palms were always sweaty. She would praise him and go to all his games. And he rewards her with so many gifts.
If Katsumi is busy, he will send her expensive gifts she had wanted or slightly mentioned. Sometimes he’d even give her cash. He had no idea he was nothing more than a sugar daddy to (your name). The two of them hadn’t even had sex and he’s already done so much for her… he was sweet.
But that’s when she noticed how unhinged he started to become. How his touches would linger and how he’d sneak a hand in her pocket if you walk too far away from him. How his lips would linger longer on the back of her hand far longer than comfortable. And how often his hands would I graze her stomach. Katsumi was starting to scare her.
And that’s when he began to talk about babies. How beautiful she’d look pregnant. Katsumi even shared baby names with her and talk about how he’d teach their child karate.
She had to leave. She had to leave right now. The money wasn’t worth it anymore if he was talking about having kids with her.
Tumblr media
(Your name)’s hands desperately rummaged through her drawer. Her eyes wide and breathing uneven.
“Where is it?! Where is it?!” (Your name) cried to herself in her search for her passport..
She caught Katsumi tampering with her birth control and now she knew she needed to flee right now. He wanted a family and she was so irrationally afraid of child birth. She cut him off immediately and hasn’t answered his calls for two days now.
“(Your name)?” (Your name) froze when she heard her front door open and Katsumi’s voice. What was he doing here? He was supposed to be at the dojo. “(Your name)? Are you okay?”
(Your name) trembled, she felt like a cornered animal when Katsumi appeared in her doorway. The karateka gave her a big, goofy grin.
“Hey! I didn’t mean to scare you. You just haven’t answered my calls in two days so I was worried about you.” Katsumi frowned at her disheveled form. “Are you sick? You’re shaking!”
Katsumi closed the distance between them in a flash, his strong arms pulled her against his body. “Your face is so pale… do you have a cold? I can go get you some soup, baby.”
(Your name) shook her head no. The waterworks began to fall which only made Katsumi more concerned.
“Don’t cry! You don’t have to worry about me getting sick! I’m a tough guy!” Katsumi pressed his lips to the top of her head. “You’re so cute being all concerned about me… I love you!”
A loud sob escaped her lips which made Katsumi pulled her head into his chest. He shushed her and wiped her tears away with his thumbs, but it only made her cry even harder.
“There. There. Say. How about you stay at my place and I’ll take care of you?” Katsumi smiled warmly down at her. “It can be like a practice run for when we’re husband and wife! What do you say?”
“I-I want to go home-“ Katsumi scooped her up bridal style in his arms. His eyes filled with so much adoration, she thought she’d be consumed.
“Then let’s go home together.” Katsumi then began to ramble. “I’m looking into buying a bigger place. Just like the ones you said you liked when we went on that walk a month ago. One where we can start a family… oh! How many kids do you want? I’d love to have a big family but if you only want one or two, that’s perfect.”
(Your name) had barked up the wrong tree.
