I Apologize
Once upon a time, apologizing on camera was a Chechen and Belarusian practice. Since the outbreak of full-scale war, the Russian authorities have also adopted this method of putting pressure on dissenters, especially in music and pop culture. Here are some examples from the last year. Underdog and La Virgen bars To whom: the police. For what: for holding a charity event to aid…

Moscow's Lefortovo court has said that the “almost naked” party hosted by blogger and TV presenter Nastya Ivleeva at Moscow’s “Mutabor” nightclub was aimed at promoting “non-traditional sexual relationships,” in a decision against Russian rapper Vacio (Nikolai Vasiliev), who was arrested after attending the party.
The court ruling states that the party was “geared toward propaganda of non-traditional sexual relationships, expressed in the dissemination of information aimed at forming non-traditional sexual attitudes and [promoting] the attractiveness of non-traditional sexual relationships.”
The December 20 “almost naked” party drew outrage from pro-Kremlin activists after photos and videos of the event appeared on social media. Later, Russia’s federal censorship agency, Roskomnadzor, said it found “signs of LGBT propaganda.” On December 26, participants began to make public apologies.

The organizers behind the Russian sex positivity project Kinky Party announced on Wednesday that they are suspending their events in Moscow after receiving a warning from the federal authorities.
“Despite the fact that our events have always been in compliance with the law and were aimed at creating a safe, respectful environment for free expression, we received a warning that no events related to the topic of sex will be permitted from now on,” read the announcement.
The team said it has canceled an event to celebrate the project’s eighth anniversary that was planned for February 17.
“At the moment, we don’t know whether the new rules are temporary or permanent,” the organizers said. “[...] We’ll return to you as soon as we think over some alternative ways to give you an atmosphere of celebration and freedom.”
However, they added, they will continue to hold events in Georgia.
According to the project’s site, a Kinky Party is a “sex-positive party with a theme, a dress code, great music, and a rich show.” Since 2016, the project says, it has been “helping people explore their boundaries, fantasies, and sexuality.”
The Russian Supreme Court’s ruling in November to ban the “international LGBT movement” has given rise to a crackdown not only against explicitly LGBTQ+ media and events but also against events even tangentially related to sex in general. A party with an “almost naked” dress code held by blogger and TV presenter Nastya Ivleeva in December was later declared by a Moscow court to have been aimed at promoting “non-traditional sexual relationships.”

OH BOY SO HERE'S THE TEA
End of December last year Nastya Ivleeva (an internet persona) decided to throw a party with an "almost-naked" dress code, invited every famous person you can think of, more than 200 people you probably know showed up, and then they all got sued for "propaganda of homosexual relations". Some of my favorite highlights:
Kirkorov (a VERY famous singer, sort of like a pop culture icon of the last... gosh, 30 years at least?) publicly denied participating, stating that he just "walked into the wrong door" (it's a meme now). He showed up looking like this btw (right):
Some rapper I don't know called Vacio showed up with a sock on his cock and someone licked it (the sock) and it got him like 15 days of jail?? He commented on this saying "Похуй спортом позанимюсь книги почитаю хахах всем пис" ("Idgaf I'll exercise a bit read books haha peace y'all") (Vacio on some king shit ig)
Nastya herself set up a photoshoot thing where participants could take pictures in a bed with a whatsitcalled virtual projection of herself, naked. Swag, go off girl.
The government publicly shamed everyone for "propagating sodomy while Russian soldiers are dying in Ukraine", which is too abhorrent to even joke about. Honestly I don't say this often but fuck the Russian government, fuck every person of importance who got implicated in the "scandal" but didn't use their insane amount of influence to fight the anti-LGBTQ+ oppressive law, fuck the Russian media for blowing this whole thing out of proportion so people stop talking about the war in Ukraine, also fuck Transnistria but this ain't about her
Anyway, one thing I can't wrap my head around is why anyone would lick a goddamn sock
Gonna start talking about small world-scale inqonsequential political events in my tiny most-people-have-no-clue-where-it-is country with the same audacity and demand as USAmericans when they talk about every legislation in every state all the time.

Camel and Sunday rite on the set: how they filmed the "Monastery"
Camel and Sunday rite on the set: how they filmed the “Monastery”
Today, Kinopoisk premiered the final episode of The Monastery, which is definitely one of the main series of the season, with the unexpectedly serious role of Nastya Ivleeva, the incredible reincarnation of Philip Yankovsky and the vivid image of Mark Eidelstein. This is a story about a Moscow rookie who is used to living at someone else’s expense and spending every day as if it’s his last, but…
