Re Zero's similarity to Arifureta is that the two main characters are sent to another world. Hajime and Subaru experienced a lot of suffering which gradually began to change their attitude, even though in the future Subaru suffered much more than Hajime. Re Zero is highly recommended to watch for those of you who like the dark fantasy genre.

Found (Chapter 1) - Morisawa Chiaki/Reader

Summary: Chiaki can vaguely remember that time in kindergarten when he saved a girl during a school field trip but he knows that it was the first time he became someone’s hero. With only a dolphin plush and a worn-out handkerchief to remind him of that memory, he finally meets her again.

A/N: It’s Chiaki’s birthday and I want to write something for him uwuHappy birthday, Ryusei Red! Love ya~!

Chapter 1: Cafe Visit

The wind chimes give a gentle ring as another customer enters the shop. The man looks around before setting his eyes on an empty table near the window. The cafe didn’t have many customers at this time of day, given that it’s a weekday and most people should be at work or in school. 

Chiaki finds the place comfortable. With piano music playing in the background, windows tinted just enough to let some sunlight in but not too bright for the eyes, the waft of coffee in the air, and the occasional klink of mugs and glasses made by the barista from the counter, Chiaki is able to relax easily and forget all things related to work for a moment. He definitely needs to thank Kaoru for the recommendation.

Today is a special occasion for him. Ryuseitai has received a job involving everyone in the unit, and rather than meeting up at the ES building and discussing the particulars of the job, Chiaki suggested they’d eat out first before going into business mode. ‘It’s been a while since we’ve all joined up together. Why don’t we go and catch up first?,’ was what he insisted on in their group SNS. 

He was the first to arrive as usual and while he waits for the others, he takes the opportunity to look around the cafe. Smooth, birch flooring, tall glass windows, potted plants on every table and a couple by the door, and a small display case near the counter, where a single barista is busy brewing a fresh pot of coffee. 

Chiaki takes a better look at the display case. Apart from the rest of the cafe which gives off a sort of mature style, the display case and the even tables near it, he now notices, are made to look a little playful and childish. Colorful paper flowers replace the small succulents on the tables plus an addition of a small container of crayons and a stack of paper. The display case has several stuffed toys in it like a stuffed bear, a panda, a dog, and even a crocodile. Clearly the area was meant for children, but do kids even go to cafes?

One display catches Chiaki’s eye: a blue stuffed dolphin, clearly older than the other stuffed animals given its fading colors, at the topmost shelf. He feels a wave of nostalgia looking at it but before thinking any further, a glass of water is placed in front of him. Chiaki looks up from the glass and is greeted with a smile from a cafe staff.

“Sorry for the wait. We’re kind of understaffed today.” She says with an apologetic tone. “Are you ready to order?” 

“Ah no, it’s okay. I’m still waiting for some people,” Chiaki replies, and the woman nods in understanding. 

“Alrighty then.” she speaks in a casual tone, “ Thought you might’ve been confused on how to order since you’re new here.”

Chiaki blinks in surprise. She knows? “Ah yes, It’s my first time here. A friend recommended the place to me. I’m surprised you can tell.”

“Well we have a number of regulars who visit at this time of day so I can spot the newcomers. Plus, I see you looking around the place when you entered.” Oh, right. Chiaki chuckles at the comment, feeling slightly embarrassed for his earlier actions. He was staring too long at the ‘kids’ section, after all. 

“You have an interesting place here. Is that area meant for kids?” He points to the area near the display shelf, and she shifts her attention to it as well. 

“Ah yes, we get a lot of children here on the weekends. Our ice cream desserts are popular with them.” She explains as she picks one flyer from the stack of menus she’s been holding and shows it to Chiaki. Various desserts are featured on it from ice cream parfaits to frozen yogurts. They even have animal-themed cakes on the menu. 

Chiaki’s eyes sparkle at the desserts as well. “The children would definitely enjoy these!” They all look very appetizing and he can already imagine what they could taste like. He can also think of a number of people from Yumenosaki who would definitely like to try them. 

He flips the flyer to the other side and his eyes grew wider at their most featured dessert: a lineup of superhero-themed parfaits. All were in different flavors representing a color, with different toppings and syrups to match. Chiaki could name a few tokusatsu shows the desserts may have been based on but there are too many colors to pinpoint it to a specific one, which would mean whoever made these must’ve taken into consideration a lot of references. He gapes at the amount of details.

She notices Chiaki’s expression change and chimes in. “Ah, those parfaits were just launched a month ago and they quickly became a bestseller among the kids.”

“These look amazing!” Chiaki exclaims, extending his arms while holding the flyer. He looks up at her. “I can see that these were made with a lot of passion.”

The sudden cry surprises her but she meekly smiles at the praise. “Thank you very much!”

“I bet Sengoku would enjoy this yellow parfait. The stars look like those shuriken he carries around.” Chiaki then starts to ramble. “Kanata would like this blue one with the fish shaped biscuits, and these bear-shaped sugar candies would definitely be perfect for Takamine, and Nagumo– Ah what’s keeping them so long? I want to try this with everyone!” Unable to hold in his excitement, he takes out his phone and scans his messages for new updates. Sadly, the last message was from him, saying that he’s entering the cafe.

The woman clears her throat to catch Chiaki’s attention, her brows knitted together. “I’m really sorry, sir. But the parfaits from that flyer would only be available on weekends since that’s when most of the children visit and it takes some time to make them.” There was regret in her voice as she spoke. After their desserts were praised like that, she felt a little guilty that he wouldn’t be able to try it today.

“Oh is that so? No worries there! There’s always a next time.” Chiaki immediately replies with no hint of disappointment in his voice. “Maybe i’ll drop by again when they’re available. This red parfait really calls out to me!” He says, eyeing the red dessert before nodding with a satisfied hum. “Thanks for showing me this. Can I keep this flyer?”

He sees relief spreading on her face when he looks at her again, her expression lighting up as she replies. “Yup. We actually give these out to our customers for promotion so we have plenty.” She points to the counter where a stack of similar fliers were displayed. 

“Oh! Well then, I’ll hold on to this.” He waves the flyer before setting it down on the table. She nods in return.

The chimes ring again as a group enters the shop, and instinctively, Chiaki stands up and turns his head towards the door. Sure enough, it’s finally the rest of his unit approaching. 

“Chiaki, we’re here~” Kanata greets, with Midori, Tetora and Shinobu in tow. While Kanata looks refreshed as ever, the other three look out of breath.

“We’re sorry for being late. Tetora-dono and I were helping out Midori-dono with deliveries.” Sengoku bows his head low. Midori also mutters a quick apology. “I told them to go ahead but they’re so persistent on lending a hand.”

Nagumo chimes in. “If we hadn’t helped you you would’ve missed the meeting. We just rushed here as soon as we’re done with the last box.” 

“And I bumped into the children on the way here.” Kanata adds.

“No need to worry. I was just admiring these desserts they have while I wait.” Chiaki then holds up the flyer for everyone to see. “I was thinking we could all go and try them next time. Apparently these are only available on the weekends.”

“Ah! They’re like Ryueitai parfaits!” Tetora says with excitement. The rest steps closer to take a look at the other desserts in the flyer. Just as Chiaki thought, his unitmates would also be interested in them.

The cafe staff, who had scooted to the side when the new customers came in, steps forward. “Why don’t I get you all settled in? We don’t have the parfaits for today but we do have other items in the menu you might like.” She raises her arm with the menus as she speaks.

Chiaki realizes they must have been bothering the other customers by standing around and talking. “Ah, sorry. We’ll get seated then.” 

She hands out the menu, inserting the dessert flyer in them as well before heading back to the kitchen to get glasses water for the rest of the members. After browsing for a few minutes, the group decides to try out a variety of dishes from the menu at Chiaki’s suggestion.

They start to chat while they wait, and Chiaki is happy they all managed to get together like this again. It reminds him of their time in Yumenosaki, where he would bond with everyone before and after a job, took trips together, done lives with everyone, and many more fond memories. And today’s another memory he’ll be making with them.

The discussion for their new job goes on smoothly, with everyone already experienced enough to make valid suggestions on how they’d tackle the requests from the client. They are able to finish their meeting a few hours before sunset, which would give the group some free time to stroll around the rest of the district. A change of pace would also be nice. With that idea in place, Chiaki asks for the bill.

Before joining the others to the door, Chiaki walks up to her, who already has a tray in hand to clear up their table. “I’ll definitely be back on the weekend. Now I really can’t wait to try those superhero parfaits!”

“Then I’ll be looking forward to your next visit!” The woman smiles and gives him a curt nod before Chiaki waves and finally exits the cafe. As Chiaki approaches his unitmates, he notes that Kanata has been smiling at him since leaving the cafe. The brunette raises a brow in curiosity.

“You and the owner are already well acquainted, I see.” Kanata says, head tilting to the side to look at her inside. She’s telling something to the barista before the young man smiles and curtly bows his head before stepping out of the counter. A switch in shifts, probably? 

The sudden information, though, seems to process for a second for Chiaki, and his eyes widened at the realization.

“She’s what?”

there are a lot of great female characters in anime, but sometimes it feels like they’re all supporting characters in shows about men or they haven’t graduated high school yet. I wanted to compile a list of some anime with adult women front and center

kidou keisatsu patlabor on tv:

in the sci-fi future as imagined in 1988, human-piloted robots called labors are used regularly by all kinds of people, including criminals. to combat labor crime, the police develop a special unit of patrol labors—patlabor. instead of following the prestigious division one, we follow a cast of quirky characters in second-string division two, as they solve cases ranging from mundane to dangerous to paranormal

izumi noa, and why I love her:

she’s incredibly strong-willed and stubborn. she’ll stand up to anyone. she’s obsessed with labors, not just piloting them herself but repairing them and learning about new developments in the field. even though division two is primarily men and there is the “men at work” vibe of so much military and police fiction, noa fits in easily with the guys and no one excludes her. the few times people do question her skills bc of her gender, they’re immediately shut down

other women in the cast:

nagumo shinobu, the captain of division one. we never actually see her or her unit at work, but they have a great reputation. I just love her bc she’s very funny always shutting down the captain of division two and I like that in-universe there are women in leadership roles like this

kanuka clancy, a visiting cop from new york. her relationship with noa is very strong, definitely shippable. she’s adept with a gun, a sword, and a giant robot. she’s the serious member of the team who yells at the others for being dumb but there are still times where she goes completely off the rails and ignores the law to do what she knows is right

wotakoi: love is hard for otaku:

momose narumi is an office worker and a fujoshi. she wants to keep the fujoshi part a secret this time around because things went south for her at her last job once people found out she was an otaku, but it turns out several of her new coworkers are fellow nerds. most importantly, her game-loving childhood friend hirotaka works at the same company, and the two of them reconnect as friends… and soon more than friends. it’s a romance drama involving only nerds

momose narumi, and why I love her:

she’s a lot like your standard high school girl protagonist who runs out of the house because she’s late for school, but this time she’s late for work. she’s really funny and straightforward, except she thinks she has to hide that side of her at her job. she and hirotaka have a great childhood friends to lovers relationship. she’s kind of rude to him but he adores her (though he’s kind of bad at showing it). I love a cheerful girl/serious guy romance that’s done well and I think this one really is

other women in the cast:

koyanagi hanako, narumi’s new coworker who’s a fellow fujoshi. she’s also a cosplayer, specifically a crossplayer who specializes in cosplaying as handsome guys. she and narumi only met each other under their fandom nicknames before, but they were big fans of each other and hit it off instantly when they meet at work. they’re cute friends even if they always argue about who tops in their ships

psycho-pass:

in a futuristic society, people’s mental health is constantly measured by “psycho-pass” readings which track their emotional state and judge the likelihood that they will commit a crime. naive rookie cop tsunemori akane leads a team of enforcers, people who are considered “latent criminals” too dangerous to live in normal society but who are still useful to the police. akane develops a close relationship with enforcer kougami shinya in particular, but kougami has his own intense relationship with the elusive criminal makishima shogo. as the team of detectives investigate him, they uncover secrets about the system they never wanted to learn and their fates become entwined with makishima’s

psycho-pass is written by urobuchi gen (madoka magica, fate/zero) and if you’re familiar with him you know what to expect. the show is pretty grim and gory. content warnings for rape, violence, gore, body horror, police violence, the predatory lesbian trope, forced institutionalization, and probably a lot of other things I can’t remember. not a light watch, is what I’m saying

tsunemori akane, and why I love her:

she’s incredibly principled. she sticks to what she believes is right despite immense pressure. it’s precisely because she’s naive and doesn’t understand the system that she is able to fight against it. she grows a huge amount over the course of the series but she never loses her compassion or her sense of right and wrong. she’s pretty badass too

other women in the cast:

karanomori shion, a lab analyst at the public safety bureau. she’s your typical sexy and flirtatious anime character but I think her position within the setting is interesting. although she’s categorized as a “latent criminal” unfit for society, she seems to be valued more than the enforcers. she’s also bisexual and dating a woman, though she plays into the “bisexuals can’t settle down” trope a little. she is not actually the best character or peak representation but I’m pretty attached to her and a certain type of woman will be too

kunizuka yayoi, a lesbian former musician and the only female enforcer. she’s shion’s girlfriend. there is a predatory lesbian character in this series, but it’s not kunizuka. I think her being a lesbian is handled pretty well. she has romantic and sexual relationships with women that are important to her, but she doesn’t hate men or flirt with every woman she meets (traits I hate to see in lesbian characters written by men). she’s really serious and calm but still cute and I love to see her growing respect for akane over the course of the show

death parade:

two people wake up in a strange bar with no memory of how they got there. a mysterious man with white hair named decim and his assistant, a woman known only as “the black haired woman,” ask them to play a game. the games are both absurd and dangerous, and as the contestants play them dark sides of themselves are revealed. decim’s job is to judge them based on their behavior while playing the games, but the black haired woman’s influence causes him to wonder if he’s doing the right thing

like it says in the title, the anime deals with the topic of death, and death by suicide comes up as well. I don’t remember everyone’s backstories but I think violence and abuse come up several times. there are also mannequins that move around on marionette strings which is kind of freaky

the black haired woman, and why I love her:

it might be wrong to say that she’s the main character when she isn’t introduced until the end of the first episode and her name isn’t revealed for half the show but listen. she’s the emotional core of the show and the person who sets the events in motion. she’s a very emotional person and that’s her strength. her relationship with decim is the classic “woman teaches cold-hearted man to feel” trope but I think it’s an outstanding example bc it centers her emotional experience and the two of them are not explicitly in a romantic relationship. I’ve been trying to avoid spoilers but for her it’s almost unavoidable. I love the way that her story is slowly revealed over the course of the show culminating in an incredible sequence in episode 11. I think her depression is handled so well too. it’s heartbreaking

other women in the cast:

nona, the boss of the arbiters. she’s a schemer who knows a whole lot of things she’s keeping from everyone else. I really like her outfit above all else. baggy pants with suspenders… a great look

mayu, a high school girl who is a contestant in one of the games. she tries to be cutesy but is prone to anger and makes incredible faces. I like that she’s an obsessive fangirl character who’s played for humor but is also shown as being noble and sympathetic

sakura quest:

koharu yoshino is a woman who moved to tokyo to find a job but has no luck. when she finally gets a job offer, it’s to become “queen for a day” of rural manoyama village. upon arriving in manoyama, she learns that she was only hired because they thought she was someone else but they still want her to work there for an entire year. now she lives in a small town and is tasked with both revitalizing the citizens and drawing tourists in, along with the help of four friends. it may not sound funny and heartwarming but it really is. it’s a good story about connecting and reconnecting and also the head of the tourism board wears a chupacabra mask sometimes

the main characters, and why I love them:

koharu yoshino, queen of manoyama. her struggle in the job market is unfortunately relatable to many people today and I love that she wishes she could have a job as a queen. she’s great and she really comes to love the town despite everything

shiori shinomiya, a very sweet manoyama native. she’s almost too nice but it makes it all the funnier when she gets intense

maki midorikawa, an aspiring actor who is famous among manoyama citizens for a small role she played in the past. she’s serious about acting but her family wishes she would get a more stable job. she can be kind of rude but she does love her friends and her town

sanae kouzuki, a web developer who moved to manoyama to escape the intensity of city life and the negative effects it had on her mental health. the problem is she hates rural life and is afraid of bugs but is too proud to admit it on her blog. the only true city girl among the five

ririko oribe, my favorite of the five. she’s shy but loves cryptids and the occult. it’s very easy to read her as autistic and the other characters affirm her interests and behavior. her love of cryptids even helps the town out when Spanish tourists come in search of a local legend. her relationship with her grandma is really good as well, with the two coming to understand and love each other over the course of the show

[Memory 05] Why didn’t you leave? They were a few days away from the last qualifying match for the World Cup, but none were especially worried. So far they had managed to win every game in their block and that meant that, even if they lost the last one, they went to Liocott Island yes or yes. They had to face formidable rivals, the biggest of them had been the Korean team, Fire Dragons, led that year by Afuro Terumi with Suzuno and Nagumo on the Team. 

The brunette had breakfast thinking that surely they would be the other team that would manage to reach Liocott, the only game they had lost was against Inazuma Japan, and that made the rest of the teams have lost at least two. It all depended on the last game of the Japanese, if they won, the Koreans would go to Liocott, if they lost, it would depend on the amount of goals of one and another team. Fudou yawned, he knew that all, or almost all, the members of Inazuma Japan wanted to win the last match not only for them but because in the Fire Dragons team there were friends and it was their way of allowing them to go to the International. 

The rest of his teammates came to breakfast, so far they had not had any casualties, although there had been several teammates injured, of greater or lesser severity, they had refused to leave the team despite having been without playing some games. The most serious had been Kogure, who had protected Tatsuya from a powerful shot and had ended up very badly injured. Although it seemed to the brunette that the mocking pixie did not dislike so much being treated and cared for, especially by Haruna, to Kidou's disgust,t he could not stand the boy getting so close to his sister.

So far in the team they were understanding fine, although Fudou knew that that was not enough to win the World Cup. They had to be able to understand each other much better if they wanted to aspire to the cup.

He, for his part, was efficiently fulfilling his work as a libero, although he was not allowed to play in all matches or all the time of the match. Fudou was still the Ace under the sleeve of Inazuma Japan. But every time they put him in the field everyone knew they were going to come back. Their rivals frighten when they saw him enter, falling into their traps, because the brunette liked to play with them as if they were the mice under the influence of the famous flutist.

Fudou, in addition, always worked as a team with Kidou, to the point that they were the most feared duo of the tournament. Their rivals knew they had nothing to do against them, it was like an execution, a condemnation. The only team that had been able to do something to them was, again, Fire Dragons. Although it had not been enough, Kidou and Fudou overtook them easily again.

But, Kidou and especially Fudou were not always the team's lead strategists, the coaches also allowed Nosaka and Ichihoshi to shine in that field, and although they certainly had good ideas, the team did not trust them as fully as the other two. Perhaps for that reason they played more, so that the team learned to follow them faithfully. That bothered Fudou, who wanted to kick the ball more than ever.

“Where is Kidou?” Fudou asked himself suddenly coming out of his thoughts, the boy should have come down a while ago, and continued with bitterness to himself “I hope he did not get sick because of yesterday.”

“I heard coach Kudou say that Kidou is going to spend the day in bed because he has a fever.”

Fudou's turquoise eyes turned to Handa with a glow of annoyance and remorse.

“And you tell me now?”

The Raimon boy shrugged, not even knowing he had to tell him. Fudou snorted and got up, striding out of the cafeteria area over the amused look of all his teammates; but then they heard him protest.

“Hey! Let me go! Free me! Let me go! I have to go up!”

Coach Kudou appeared through the door dragging Fudou who resisted like a little animal. Everyone laughed at it.

“No. Leave Kidou alone. You also have to go training with your teammates. And don't think of sneaking in, I'm going to watch those stairs all day, what the boy needs least is to be bothered today.”

“I do not know what you are talking about! I just have to go to my room! Who in that Kidou?”

But the adult's gaze made him understand that the lie did not sneak in and that he knew exactly what he intended. So he huffed and left for the field, didn't they let him go up the stairs? Perfect, he would find another way to pass.

He was kicking the ground with his hands in his pockets, very upset looking for a way to escape and reach Kidou's room. 

“Fudou seems in a very bad mood today, right?" Kurimatsu told Matsuno making him laugh.

The boy went around the building, looking for the window that belonged to his friend's room. He realized that it was open and that the curtains were moving in the morning breeze. 

“It's a sign.”

He stretched a little and looked with his eyes for something that would help him reach the window, there was a tree several meters away, yes, that would work. A four-meter jump was nothing for a soccer player who invoked penguins or created empty fields.

He began to climb the tree with the agility of a feline, not realizing that several friends watched him with interest as they finished their breakfasts.

“I bet a thousand yen he falls.”

“I bet an ice cream that he faces the wall.”

“Done.”

So when Fudou jumped very determined and got hold of the window by little, Sakuma smiled smugly. He had just won a thousand yen from Kazemaru and an ice cream from Midorikawa.

Kidou was lying in bed with his whole body sore and burning. He couldn't stand that, it was unbearable. If he covered he was very hot and if he uncovered he had a horrible cold. In addition, his joints ached and he was very bored, but he was unable to think lucidly. He couldn't stand being sick. It was too frustrating.

After a long time of being awake and not getting to sleep he heard a knock outside, the first thing he thought was that some stupid animal had crashed into his window, which he did not remember opening. So when the stupid animal turned out to be Fudou who entered as if nothing, he was scared to death.

“Well, well, Kidou-kun, I didn't ever think of seeing you in such a sorry state.”

Kidou had gotten up with difficulty and the cloth he wore on his forehead and that had stopped being wet for a while slipped and fell to the bed.

"How embarrassing is that you are wearing your glasses even now" Fudou scoffed, approaching.

Kidou felt his temperature rise even more. That was bad.

He pulled his glasses off with a jerk and left them on the table without care, forced him to bed, took the cloth and went to the bathroom to dampen it.

“Are you skipping training?”

“No, I just wanted to fulfill my dream of being an opera singer, don’t you see it?” the brunette laughed, approaching again “What do you think, Kidou-kun? Or does fever stop you from thinking?”

He sat on the edge of the bed and pulled a couple of the dreadlocks that covered his forehead, leaving the cloth on it with a tenderness that Kidou never thought was possible. He would have loved he left his hand on his forehead instead of the cloth, although noticing that the boy was beginning to stroke her hair he thought it was not bad either.

He looked at him sideways and realized that he, despite looking at him, was not there, maybe that's why his fingers played with his hair, surely Fudou wouldn't do it if he was aware of his movements. He closed his eyes and enjoyed that contact, so soft, so tender, so strange. It brought him so much peace and tranquility, such lightness of heart that he fell asleep, surrendered to pain and fever.

When he woke up he did not open his eyes immediately, he felt slightly better, his head did not seem to be suffering from thousands of hammering, although his joints were still burning. He wondered if Fudou was still there, if he hadn't dreamed it. No, surely he would be gone as soon as he fell asleep. How many time passed?

He opened his eyes, slowly, lazily. 

“Are the sleeping beauty awake now?”

“Fudou?”

“No, I'm Harry Potter, don't you see it?”

Kidou's red eyes looked at him.

“That would explain why I feel enchanted.”

Kidou wanted to sit up but the boy's hands stopped him, he looked surprised at the comment.

“What nonsense you say, I'm sure you're still feverish.”

Fudou's hand came into contact with his forehead, he growled a little and took the cloth again to refresh him. He had remained attentive for a long time to do that, sometimes renewing the cloth even earlier than necessary.

“What time is it?”

“Three in the afternoon, you slept a lot Kidou-kun. But that's good to recover. Who would say you were a weakling?”

“Have you been here all the time?”

"Yes" the brunette shrugged as if it wasn't the big deal.

“Why didn’t you leave?

Fudou watched him, but did not answer, just shrugged again.

“Before your sister came to bring you food. She also left you medication. But don't worry, I hid and didn't see me.”

Kidou watched him for a moment.

“I don't care if they see you in my room, I don't care if you're in my room.”

Fudou let out a giggle.

“Time to eat, Kidou-kun! You need to regain strength.”

“I'm not hungry.”

Fudou nevertheless stubbornly grabbed Kidou and incorporated him carefully but decisively, passing the pillow behind him and carrying the tray with food.

“I do not want to eat.”

“You have to eat!”

“No.”

“Eat!”

“No.”

Fudou let out a growl and took the fork himself, filling it with the rice with curry and bringing it to Kidou's mouth, he was not aware that he opened his mouth like an automaton and let himself be fed. Fudou smiled mockingly and took food again.

“That's the plane coming.”

“Stupid…”

But Kidou opened the mouth again and Fudou laughed, there was a certain charm in that. It was the first time he took care of someone sick.

The brunette's cheeks were somewhat flushed and his eyes shone more and more as the plate emptied.

Fudou gave Kidou all the food and began preparing the medicine, some effervescent packets, in a glass of water, then his own gut roared with hunger and Kidou raised his eyes, Fudou's ears were red.

“I can't believe it ... you haven't eaten.”

“And who cares? I will not die for not eating one day.”

The boy put the glass in his hands.

“I could have shared the food with you.”

“No, you need it to recover.”

“You could have asked Haruna to bring you food!”

“No, I didn't want to be discovered and made me leave. Coach Kudou has expressly forbidden me to come see you, he said he would watch the stairs to make sure I didn't bother you ... If he finds out that I am with you…”

“Is that the reason you entered through the window?”

“Yes.”

The boy's hands shook slightly, why had Fudou done that? Why did he stay there with him? Why hadn't he even eaten? Why did his company make him so happy and seemed to feel better when he was together?

“Take the medicine, Kidou-kun.”

The medicine was bitter and sour and Kidou looked disgusted, the brunette laughed. Then he went back to help him lie down and they remained silent. Kidou was breathing calmly, or as calmly as he could. Fudou was sitting near his head and from time to time he made sure that he didn't raise his temperature by touching his forehead.

After a long time Fudou sighed.

“I'm sorry ... you got sick because of my fault, Kidou.”

He, who had closed his eyes again, opened them and looked surprised.

“Are you apologizing?“

"You're very slow today, Kidou," the boy with the cinnamon hair snorted. “Yes, I am apologizing, for throwing you into the river during yesterday's journey, I didn’t expect that we would not return immediately and you couldn’t change in hours.”

“It’s okay, don’t worry.”

Fudou gritted his teeth, of course it happened.

“You are sick because of me.”

“So you're with me just because you feel guilty?”

The cinnamon-haired boy's voice had sounded slightly sad, the turquoise eyes looked at him intensely as he snorted.

"Of course not, if Genda had thrown you into the river, I would be here with you too ... And Sakuma would have to be with him." His voice sounded somewhat threatening at that time. “You are my best friend, I have to make sure you're well.”

“So I can play in the next match?”

Fudou rolled his eyes.

“Because I care for you, stupid. The match is not that important. You are, a lot.”

Kidou was very surprised at that and smiled with a very warm feeling, he raised a hand to pat him on the shoulder, but instead of patting his shoulder his hand went to his cheek and landed on it like a feather, stroking his face with his thumb.

Fudou's turquoise eyes had opened enormously, he froze, as if any gesture could trigger a disaster. His heart was pounding and he felt tickle in his gut.

"I think that you aren’t getting enough oxygen today, Kidou-kun," the brunette finally replied, though he took the hand of the sick boy with his own carefully and inclined his face so that Kidou's hand could grasp more surface, he loved it. Feel the skin of Kidou on his.

His red eyes flashed a moment.

“And you do not intend to do anything about it?”

Fudou watched him with a mocking smile, what was that comment about? Would they be delusions of fever? But then he remembered "you're like a breath of fresh air that oxygenates my blood and my brain," he had said a while ago.

Fudou widened his smile, placed himself over him, looking him in the eye, his nose almost stuck to his. Kidou looked back at him, and the expression of both of them changed completely, Fudou's left to be sarcastic and Kidou's left to have an arched eyebrow. Both had been lost in each other's eyes. The brunette momentarily brought his lips together with his, he tasted disgusting because of the medicine but he didn't care at all, it was a little kiss full of tenderness.

“Is enough oxygen for your bright brain or do you need more?”

Kidou blinked without knowing how to react in spite of having prompted him, there was that acid sweetness again, that taste that made his heart beat, that his stomach jumped; he bit his lips in an attempt to keep that flavor present.

“I think I'm still missing some air” in his eyes there was a twisted glow.

Fudou burst out laughing and kissed him several more times.

Until they heard footsteps and before they could react the door opened with a dry knock.

“I hope that asshole isn't in Kidou's room.”

“Coach Kudou wait…”

At the door the coach and Tatsuya had appeared, who as sub-captain had begun to ask about the Mohican boy when he had not appeared for dinner either, worried that he had not seen him all day; reaching his words in the ears of the adult who immediately imagined the situation.

But neither of them expected to find Fudou on top of Kidou, the brunette could feel the murderous aura emitted by his coach. Tatsuya petrified.

“I told you to leave Kidou alone!”

The man grabbed Fudou and took him from the room with shouts and protests from him, being followed by Tatsuya who after apologizing with a slightly mocking smile with Kidou for interrupting them closed the door and left.

“This week you will clean all the bathrooms in the building all by yourself!”

Kidou sighed and put his hand to his forehead, he was barely feverish, although he did feel very hot. Then he touched his lips, wondering why he felt the way he felt and fell asleep again.

  A new key visual (below), a 30 second TV spot, the opening & ending theme song performers, and the Japanese TV schedule have all been revealed for Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest, an upcoming TV anime based on the series of fantasy light novels written by Ryo Shirakome and illustrated by Takayaki about a young man who struggles with a weak job class when transported to magical world.

  The opening theme, entitled "Flare", is performed by Void_Chords feat.LIO. The ending theme, entitled "Hajime no Uta" ("Hajime's Song"), is performed by DracoVirgo.

    The original Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest light novels are published in Japan by Overlap Bunko. English language versions of the series are available via digital distribution through J-Novel Club and in-print via Seven Seas Entertainment, who describe the story as follows:

Kazemaru Ichirouta

Ahh yes, speedy boy, Kazemaru has always been my favourite, ever since I started watching IE back in 2015 when I was still foolish enough to watch the dub first. He’s just so kind????? And he has such an interesting character dynamic I love him so much, he’s a lot more complex than people give him credit for. Plus characters that go from good, to evil and then back to good are very important to me, it’s just like me sjhbgajghafgh.

2.       Suizenji Chiita

Even speedier boy, I’ll be real with y’all, I have a massive weak spot for animal like human characters, they’re just so freAKING CUTE I LOVE THEM, I LOVE CHEETAH SO MUCH. He’s just basically a cat, he seems like such an energetic and fun character, I just love him so much. What’s more, his eyeliner game is so fucking strong and he has the lil anime tooth.

3.       Tsukimura Kenichi

Same reason as to why I love Cheetah, him be werewolf boy. He just seems like such a cool guy to be around you know?? Like that one overly furry friend that can be a bit embarrassing to hang out with because they keep acting like a fucking animal in public but you love them for it regardless??? Yea that kind. Besides he has goblin ears.

4.       Gouenji Shuuya

Couldn’t find a better image so here’s Gouenji saying bad words.

I love edgy characters ok they’re great fun. I just love Gouenji because he just doesn’t take shit from no one ya know??? Like he knows what needs to be done and he knows how to get it done and if you’re doing something wrong he’ll tell you through the use of s o c c e r. Oh and he’s a total softie at time which I really appreciate ahgjvbakjgvbskjgha. Plus fire is cool, and so is Gouenji.

5.       Genda Koujirou

I FUCKING LOVE GENDA CAN YOU TELL?! Yea IDK, I’ve always feel like Gendas’ that one characters that’s not quite a main character, but is also not a minor character either??? I will always love Genda, Genda is such a kind and caring character but also such a mature character I sajhdfgvadhasgh. I’d let him crush me to death with his big st r o ng  arms.

6.       Segata Ryuuichirou

Goblin boy with Goblin ears, confirmed Goblin. I have no idea why I like this guy so much??? He just seems so hot headed and determined and I just love that about him? Like if something goes wrong he’d be like “it’s YOUR FAULT But I’ll fix it don’t worry” and honestly, I need that support in my life. Also I love his goblin ears they’re very good.

7.       Nagumo Haruya

Suzuno always seems to get the most love out of the two so I’m here to tell you that Nagumo is just as good. To be honest I think I love him so much because I played Fire Storm because I wanted the Gouenji buff but then Nagumo showed up and I sfghjafgadfgafdg. Plus any character that I can meme the shit out of is a good one.

8.       Hijikata Raiden

I’m still so sad that there’s no chance of Hijikata ever coming back due to what happened to his VA but that’s not gonna stop me from loving Hijikata, he’s the big brother that everyone wants. He’s everything you could ask for, he’s buff, what more could you ask for?

9.       Yamino Kageto

Ok imam be real with y’all, I love Yamino because his dub name is Shadow and any time a character is called Shadow, all I can think about is Shadow the Hedgehog and that just makes me love them so much. Plus he’s a cool looking guy, he’s a total emo but I will always love edgy emo child.

10.   Kidou Yuuto

Kidou’s everyone’s favourite, including mine. IDK what to say really, Kidou’s the kind of guy to be all smart and brainy, but as soon as you become his friend you realise he’s a total loser, and you know what that’s just what I wanted out of a character like him. Plus he got fucking arrested which I just find to be really funny, let my boy go those were just his vitamin supliments.

11.   Kozoumaru Sasuke

Kozoumaru is one of the few Ares characters I like? (I’m not saying Ares characters are bad, I just didn’t click with many of them) He’s basically Gouenji but small and chunky, and you know what, I will always love him for that. Put him in Orion Hino you absolute coward, you can’t just give me a son and then just take him away from me so quickly.

 Honestly I don’t really follow that many IE people, and all the ones I do have already done this, so I’ll tag anyone who follows me that wants to do this, seriously, this is how I’ll tag all of you. Go do this meme it’s great fun! :D

Long story short: It was not worth the 12,000 yen I paid for an arena seat but it had some nice moments...

Let’s just get the crappy parts out of the way okay? BUT if you wanna skip it just CTRL F to ‘the few good parts’.

First, the massive mess up about the goods! If you didn’t hear, they announced about 3 days before the show starts that we would have to APPLY for a LOTTERY for a CHANCE to buy goods! And that the event venue and the goods venue were going to be at least 30 minutes apart (depending on your mode of transport). So we had people not hitting for the goods lottery meaning they couldn’t get any goods even though they might’ve been seeing it that day, so they were going without penlights, tshirts etc. So naturally people were pissed. It got worse when 8 minutes into the goods starting; penlights were sold out. And they were not going to get a new batch in until about 3 hours later. So again, people were losing their shit. There were people who could ONLY get goods at 10am because they were going to the afternoon show but within MINUTES one of the main wanted goods was sold out? Again, people lost their shit. It just got worse as the day went on... By the time the shows actually started, no one gave a shit about anything the official EnStage twitter had to say, everyone had lost their trust in the staff and company. Luckily, I had smooth sailing; I hit for goods, I got all my goods. But just imagining people who didn’t even HIT for the goods lottery but were going to the shows, just broke my heart. It made me just as angry as those who were being left out. OH and they did NOT prepare any trading area this time; why the fuck are you selling RANDOM and TRADING goods if you’re not going to provide a fucking trading area? Idiots...

The second mess up was, when the first show was about to begin, lots of tweets came out saying ‘there’s been a mistake in the seating plans, first row has NO seats, and they’re moving people’ well what a fuck up that is. How can you not have enough seats?! You know how big the room is, you know how many tickets you sold, you know how many people are coming; how did you fuck up the seating plan, not have enough seats and then have the audacity to MOVE a front row ticket holder to other parts of the room?! What the fuck. Again, I was lucky, I had a seat and there were no such problems at the night show I went to.

The next one is more to do with me personally. I am barely 159cm and I never wear heels to any events, even concerts, because I know how tiny some Japanese women can be and if one is behind me, I don’t want to be blocking them more than I should be. But because of this, I could not see the main stage AT ALL. The entire show I had to WATCH the screen even though I was to the left of the front stage. I could not see the main stage at all! So I was pissed! But also that meant that not only me, who paid 12,000 yen for an arena seat which should be one of the best seats, but others too weren’t able to see the stage. What’s the point paying 12,000 yen if I can’t see the whole fucking stage? GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK! I seriously think those in the stands and second floor had the best view for any of these performances. It was easy for them to see the stage, sitting or standing.

The next part, which is apparently my fault again, but apparently (no matter who I talk to) it’s ‘COMMON KNOWLEDGE’ that every stage/musical concert/live that you go to is lipsynced. Well I’m sorry but I DID NOT KNOW and they didn’t tell us it would be And if I HAD KNOWN, I wouldn’t have bothered paying for a ticket at all, let alone a 12,000 YEN SEAT(!). But apparently ‘everyone else knew it was going to be lipsynced’. WTF?! I realised straight away (during TRICKSTAR’S first song) that they were lipsyncing, so it wasn’t even GOOD lipsyncing! It really rubbed me the wrong way. Like A LOT. What did I pay 12000yen for? What did EVERYONE pay 9000+ yen for?! If you’re not going to PERFORM?! I did not pay a ridiculous amount of money to watch people LIPSYNC for 2 and a half hours. I paid that much money to be entertained, to be able to see everything, to enjoy myself, to hear the beautiful voices that people like Ikkei, Kandai, Kazuma and Yuzuki possess(!). To hear the booming voices of RenRen and Shohei who are SO damn loud, there’s no point giving them a mic - but again, because their voices were strangely the same volume as the melody when they were ‘singing’ was also obvious proof that they were lipsyncing -, to hear bad singers like TakaChan and KitaMu sing badly (because I fucking love hearing people live REGARDLESS of how shitty they are!). That’s what I want! I want a LIVE concert performance, and they gave me..... Higuchi barely trying to lipsync in time, for example ---- seriously he BARELY moved his mouth!!!!! 

OH and they didn’t even sing ALL the songs. WTF?! You just play the group songs and... why?! Judge of Knights was such a success and you’re not even going to put in any battle or Knight Killers songs?! Oh please fuck off. I’m sorry but that is NOT a performance! That is 30+ people barely putting in any effort and getting paid for it. Oh I was SO PISSED for the entirety of the show when I figured it out STRAIGHT away. No wonder I sat down for most of the concert; I couldn’t see the main stage whether I stood or not, they were lipsyncing so I don’t really need to watch them, I can just listen to them like I’d listen to a CD because that’s what they fucking were anyway! Again, why did I pay 12,000 yen to listen to a CD recording of them?! what the fuck....

Yeah, I’m still going! At this point I might as well let it ALL OUT. But the audience sucked as well. The cast was trying to get us to ‘oi!’ and yell chants at some of the songs but EVERY TIME, as soon as the boys stopped yelling it out, the audience went quiet again and I’m like ‘FUCKERS CONTINUE!’ it was obvious we could still keep cheering along, they wanted us to continue. The audience fucking sucked. OH god and every time KNIGHTS came out..... FYI I fucking HATE KNIGHTS at this point. I fucking hate Ritsu with a passion and ALWAYS have <<< feels so nice to finally admit how much I can’t stand and have never stood Ritsu. But the audience volume change and the squeal change when KNIGHTS came on compared to the REST of the groups is just so fucking bias and I am so fucking over it. OH and another part that really pissed me off, Rei and Ritsu did the ‘15 minutes before the show rules announcement’ and it started with Ritsu yawning but apparently everyone in that room was dumb as fuck because I knew that was Maki straight away, but it wasn’t until he spoke an actual line that everyone else realised it was Ritsu and then everyone started to lose their shit and scream -______________- . It was obvious it was him. -____________- idiots.... <<< like I said,  I might as well let it all out.

Also, fucking hate UnDead. Hate their songs too. You’re welcome to like them and everyone was super yelling and into their songs (the audience actually yelled and cheered during their songs which was nice) but ugh... just no for me.

New Yuzuru was so robotic whenever he spoke his lines. He didn’t really get a good reaction from the audience the night I watched. But he has time to improve, I think he’s a newbie anyway and he wasn’t on stage long enough to give people an impression really.

No Encore... seriously? No Greetings/Curtain Call... seriously? Ugh....

Sigh.... I think I’m done ranting.. let’s get to the few good parts...

The actual ensemble cast were a dream! The actual ensemble cast were so good and they were all so good looking! I spent MORE time watching them than I did with the actual cast. They were so much fun! Their dances were great, I loved how they tried to encourage the audience (but were obviously being ignored by everyone else) with claps and cheers constantly, they were good looking, they were just a great ensemble cast! I really, really liked all of them!

There was about 50% live singing when it came to the new FINE, Akatsuki and All Cast song. Knights Escort was 50% live too. But everything else was not. The two new group songs were good. BUT they were obvious goodbye songs and their lines before their songs were obviously scripted ‘graduation’ lines which just made me sigh. If it’s scripted then it just ruins their actual graduation if I’m going to be honest. Making them do the same ‘goodbye / graduation’ lines every show just ruins it. Okay, I’ll stop complaining now.... maybe...

There were so few interactions between people (as in groups mixing and interacting), it was just group song, after group song, after group song. BUT I did enjoy the few interactions that did happen; Ritsu running away from Rei, Ritsu falling asleep on Mao, Ra*bits hugging each other during their songs. But, looking at twitter reports, it was ALL scripted so again, it just cheapens it. BORING.

EVERYONE LOVES KNEW MITSURU! EVERYONE! When he first came out for his group songs, everyone was yelling ‘kawaii / cute’ and cheering for him and when it was his ‘singing’ parts, everyone gave him so much support! It was absolutely adorable and so great to watch. I’m glad everyone was already so ready and welcoming for him!

Rei messed up his line just before their first UnDead song and everyone died laughing and Kaoru started making fun of him and pointed it out ‘you messed up’ and Rei tried so hard just to ignore it xD

I really liked when it got emotional with FINE and Akatsuki towards the end, there was great (scripted) timing from Reo when he finished writing his song on the floor and popped up like ‘I DID IT!’ and it helped break that tension and sadness and brought laugher back to everyone, which was a nice touch.

Kandai made SUCH an effort even during the lipsyncing parts. You could tell he was actually singing even though his voice wasn’t going to come through the mic. You could tell in his neck movements and his throat and his neck veins were popping out. He really gave it his all even though he wasn’t going to be heard. But I appreciate how much effort he put into it regardless! He’s a star seriously. He looked the most legit out of everyone ‘performing’.

During the final song, Keito was near my side of the blocks and gave everyone attention as he ‘sang’ the end of one of the Shooting Star chorus’, everyone around him sucked it all in.

TakaChan took his moment to congratulate Ritsu on his birthday and Maki replied ‘oh you say it HERE?!’ and we all yelled happy birthday to him.

And I think that’s all. Like I said, NOT worth the amount of money I paid but I’m glad most other people seemed to enjoy it.
