Drayden and Nadia from Dragon Age: Vows and Vengeance! 🥰

I made a post earlier today talking about how I basically envision Drayden in my mind as looking very similar to Raine Whispers from The Owl House… and it made me want to actually draw them lol.

I imagine Drayden being pretty tall and lanky (typical nerd lmao) while Nadia is more stocky and muscular. You can also tell that Nadia needs some sleep, but she won’t rest until she finds Solas and kicks his ass 😌

These two are just so chaotic together and I love them SO much. On one hand, I very much hope we’ll get to see them both in Veilguard… But at the same time, I kinda don’t because I know they aren’t gonna look like how I imagine them 😅

Had a realization last night that put me in my feelings. (Spoilers for DA: Vows & Vengeance AND Veilguard incoming)

The main plot point of the podcast is that Elio has been sucked into the Fade and Nadia has to find a way to get him back into the physical world...

Which is exactly what I think a romanced Lavellan will be doing in Veilguard. While I think it's hilarious/poetic that Solas has found himself in a similar state as Elio, I really hope Nadia succeeds.

Because if a random thief from Tevinter can save her man, then surely the Inquisitor can too. Right?

I don't care what anyone says I love nadia and her brash unhinged ass with my whole heart. she really said 'I will annoy you like you would not believe every single step on the way to weisshaupt fucking try me see if I won't' and even after only like five minutes' acquaintance they believed her. queen

Vows and Vengeance has been a fun ride but now that it's ended Nadia feels like the weakest written character; which is unfortunate since she was the lead for this. She has some great moments, don't get me wrong, and Mae Whitman is always great (love to hear Katara's VA).

But her being so gullible to the demon pretending to be Ellio is nearly painful to listen to when she is presented as such a suspicious character by nature. Like I can infer that there's a lot of guilt over what happened to him, but just....she was in a long-term relationship with a mage!! She was warned by mages in the episodes!! She should be sharp enough to have been at least suspicious that this was a demon playing tricks. ESPECIALLY when it happens a second time!!

Its just an unfortunate bit of storytelling that they decided to use the plot device of "main character is suddenly willfully ignorant of their situation" to move things along. Cause otherwise it is a solid story for the Dragon Age world.

Seeing a lot of people hating on Nadia and I wish I could say I was surprised. Anytime we have a character who is a woman who is gruff, or unkind or angry, they’re rejected.

I like Nadia. I appreciate the room for growth and development, and the contrast between her style and Harding’s in this episode. We discover why she judged the townspeople so harshly, and her desperation/impatience makes sense, given Elio’s situation. Did she make the correct decisions consistently? Absolutely not, but stories would be so much less interesting if everyone made the right decisions.

We all know why female characters get judged so much more harshly than male characters with the same traits and I’m so damned sick of it.

Losing it over that very slight pause before Harding says “what relic?” where you just know she’s thinking “oh, so he’s dead dead.”

i think nadia’s relationship with taash has been my favourite of the show so far.

this ep also makes it sound like they might have met through the lords of fortune so maybe nadia is going to be our contact in game? i was rlly hoping for hollix but i’d be v happy w both them and nadia. i’d love to see more of taash’s relationship w her, whether in the podcast or in veilguard :)
