Thedas: *broken and bleeding separated by the Veil, Elvhenan ruined, magic is weak, chatting with spirits and demons is some form of heresy now, and everyone's talking about some rando guy named Creator*
Solas, regretting he ever woke up:

Cassandra: the conclave is destroyed, the Divine is dead, there’s a giant rift in the sky with demons falling out, and we’re pretty sure you and your glowing hand are responsible
Inquisitor, who just woke up:

250 days since DATV release and I keep collecting confusing things nobody is gonna explain
"The Orb issue"
Orb of Destruction (or Fen'Harel' Orb) was quite an important thing in DAI. The whole plot was twisted around that thing. It was so powerful, so dangerous and significant - it gave Corypheus enough strength to become a real threat, and it also gave Inquisitor power to manage the Veil rifts. Solas couldn't use it after his slumber but he needed his orb so much he had to stay with the Inquisition.
It felt like that orb is very much the only ancient elven artifact of such power that left.
During final battle with Corypheus the orb was destroyed, Solas left, and then somehow took it back. Not that important how, he might've just returned to collect orb pieces.
Anyway, the orb (what's left of it) is in Lighthouse's music room now.

After DAI finale goes Trespasser DLC
There are a lot of orbs all around the Crossroads. It even seemed like an art installation with all those wolf (Fen'Harel) and dragon (Mythal) figures. Almost like a chess board.
Those orbs are not broken but most likely just empty and useless. Nonetheless it means those orbs weren't a rare thing back in ancient Elvhenan. And Orb of Destruction wasn't one of its kind.

Fine, let's say there were plenty of those orbs many many years ago but it doesn't matter now - they're all gone. Just one kept its charge and that's why it's so important for Solas to retrieve it. It's the only way to restore his powers. (FleMythal probably would've been still alive if he succeeded).
What about the Lighthouse then?
To restore the astrolabe you need to use the artifact. Color is different but it's one of those "oh Inquisitor touch that thing pls it will help us to strengthen the Veil" kind of artifact from DAI.

But before restoration:

Just how many orbs still exist exactly? It isn't the DAI one (it's broken and in the music room), however it's powerful enough to keep the Lighthouse working so it has a power charge.
It is very unlikely Lighthouse was destroyed just after Solas created the Veil and then he just recreated the place after taking FleMythal' power. There are a lot of things that belong to past times: notes all around, a fishtank with fish called here likely by Felassan, a security/observing system on a tower's roof. It seems like the Lighthouse was damaged yet functional enough to keep all those echoes of rebellion. Its orb is that powerful.
Why not use it if rebellion is over for a very long time and nobody lives in the Lighthouse? Sentimental urge? Couldn't take the power? Is that power meant to be used only as an accumulator? If so then why the orb of destruction was changed by Inquisitor? Anyway why couldn't he take it if the Lighthouse belongs to him? Couldn't use the labyrinth and vi'revas to get to the Lighthouse? He was that weak after slumber? Why Elgar'nan and Ghilan'nain weren't? Power of blight? Is it Deus ex machina kind of magic now?
And whose orb it is? Fen'Harel had several? Did somebody ever keep records and track a list of magic orbs? How many allowed per soul?
Or it's someone's else?
It could've been a "better than nothing" kind of explanation why this orb can't be used. If it originally belonged to someone else it might've meant Lighthouse also originally belonged to someone else. If someone else originally built the Lighthouse or helped to build, it might've been June or Sylaise. But why would any of them help the rebellion in the first place? Doesn't make sense, especially if Elgar'nan calls Lighthouse a Dreadwolf' tower. Any other participation was never mentioned.
So many questions frankly....

I saw this comment on a Solas romance playthrough and I just can’t stop thinking about it because. Because it’s stupid. It’s so stupid.

it's okay to play different games other than dragon age, i thought. it's not like dragon age would haunt me, i thought.
and so i play clair obscur: expedition 33
nothing similar, right?
wrong.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33:

my brain, connecting dots:
Storm Coast, my beloved
(yes, it's columnar basalt and it perfectly exists in the real world without any ea or bioware participation, and location was probably inspired by Haute-Loire in France, or Ireland, or Iceland, or India, or any other basalt columns. but it's logical explanation and my brain already connected all the dots I wanted so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
