*Has war flashbacks of NXT TakeOver: R Evolution 2014*
No, STFU brain, he's a good boy now! 😩
I'm serious WWE, if Sami Zayn becomes World Heavyweight Champion next week and Kevin isn't there to celebrate with him you're going to get these hands. He needs to be there, he just has to.

Kevin Owens Makes His NXT Debut
In June of 2014, Kevin Steen had his farewell match in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Roughly one month later, it was reported that he signed with World Wrestling Entertainment. As Kevin Owens, he made his debut at NXT’s third TakeOver event, R Evolution, defeating CJ Parker in under 4 minutes. Little did viewers know that this wouldn’t be the only impact Owens would make that night…

-💜
okay, wink wink ;)
Favorite male wrestler(s): Hangman Page, Sami Zayn, Eddie Guerrero (all time). I would also say AJ Styles but really only in his 2016-2018 era. I also really love Tetsuya Naito but i haven't been watching new japan lately at all :(
Favorite female wrestlers(s): Bayley, Asuka
Tag team: ahhhh this one is so hard bc im trying to think in terms of recently or of all time. probably the Usos??? i love swerve in our glory and the acclaimed and the big aew tag teams too but like. probably the Usos. no female tag team that i can think of, they just dont cut it for me on aew or wwe. i dont watch enough joshi wrestling tbh and i should. i know it's badass.
Faction: does the Dark Order still count? :(
Match of all time:
mens singles - sami zayn vs adrian neville at nxt takeover R-evolution in december 2014. once the bell rings turn it off. turn it off!!!!! also any match in hangman's reign works for me. the takeshita match too, fuck it. okada vs hangman at g1 climax 2018 too even. sami zayn vs shinsuke nakamura that one time in the uk i think. eddie versus brock in 2004 to become world champ. kofi kingston versus daniel bryan at wrestlemania. aj styles vs brock lesnar. aj styles versus john cena both times. takeover matches with ricochet in them. idk man i have a lot.
tag match - hangman/kenny vs the bucks at revolution 2020
women's match - bayley vs sasha at takeover brooklyn august 2015. bianca versus sasha at wrestlemania. asuka vs bayley at takeover. bayley vs charlotte at takeover. any ember moon (athena) takeover match or toni storm takeover match. women's takeover matches were the fucking bomb.
i gave you too much. im sorry :]

Kevin Owens is an outspoken, Quebec-born brawler who bolts around the ring with equal parts grace and bad intentions. Lauded by The Rock and possessing what WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin described as a “hell of an arsenal,” Owens earned many accolades in North America and abroad. During his 14 years as a globetrotting independent grappler, Owens crossed paths and locked horns with men who went on to become WWE Superstars, including Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and, perhaps most famously, Sami Zayn. After achieving success as one of the world’s top in-ring competitors, Owens made his debut at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, and captured the NXT Championship only a few months later by annihilating Zayn, his oldest friend. Owens’ mix of ruthlessness, determination and guts followed him to the main roster, where he defeated John Cena in his first match and made it a point to target the biggest, baddest boys in the yard. Since then, he’s taken on everyone from Daniel Bryan to Roman Reigns to Shane McMahon to Seth Rollins to AJ Styles, amassing the Universal, United States Championship and Intercontinental Championship along the way. In addition to his in-ring prowess, KO has porven himself a master of the mic, whether he’s calling out a Superstar to settle a dispute or regularly hosting his own unpredictable talk show, "The Kevin Owens Show." Above all, Kevin Owens is a fearless competitor with an extraordinary singular belief in himself and his ability. He stands time and time again as a Superstar who will stop at nothing to compete in the best match of the night, whether that mean engaging in Tables, Ladders and Chairs slugfests, awe-inspiring leaps from the top of the WrestleMania sign or taking on multiple Superstars against the odds. Now that he's back on SmackDown as a result of the 2020 WWE Draft, KO will be looking to dole out Stunners and fight his way to the top of the blue brand, whatever the cost.

Spotlight: Sami Zayn
Tumblr media
This will be the first of many looks into the lives and careers of some of my favorite wrestlers. As such, I’m going to begin with one of my all-time favorites: Sami Zayn. Debuting on July 14, 2002 as El Generico, Sami Zayn has captured titles all over the world and has gathered a massive, passionate fanbase in the process.
His many accolades from his days in the indies include being a 2-time PWG World Champion, Ring of Honor World Television Champion, and holding the Tag Team titles for both feds working with his former best friend, Kevin Steen (Owens). It was announced in 2013 that Zayn had signed with the WWE, and he made his debut in NXT shortly after, defeating Cesaro in a huge upset. It was in NXT that El Generico shed his mask and became the Underdog from the Underground we know and love today.
Sami Zayn’s reign as NXT Champion began at the live special NXT TakeOver: R Evolution in a spectacular Career vs. Title match against Adrian Neville, his former friend. But betrayal appears to be a common theme in Sami’s life. His former best friend, Kevin Owens, had made his NXT in-ring debut that night. Directly after Zayn’s title win, Owens appeared to congratulate his long-time partner, only to power bomb him onto the ring apron, shattering their friendship, and sparking one of the most compelling ongoing rivalries in WWE history.
These days, Sami’s on the main roster, and he crushes my dreams week after week. He has taken the “Underdog” moniker to new heights, falling short and getting fucked over in nearly every match. But as he has been granted a slot in this year’s Money in the Bank ladder match, we may yet finally see our boy holding up WWE gold. Either way, Sami Zayn’s fighting spirit, his propensity for picking fights with much larger people, and his prodigious in-ring skills put him on the top of nearly everyone’s (myself included) top 5 lists.
