Tumblr media
Summary— Occurs at the end of season 9/beginning of season 10. When Casey gets in trouble with Liz for committing a Brady violation, she goes home after a long day to Reader. Reader comforts Casey.
Mommy… Master List
Requests & Prompt-List
Warnings: angst, fluff, crying, implied exhaustion, light alcohol consumption, unhappy endings, etc.
Enjoy (;
Liz had given you a call earlier today and given you a heads up of what had gone down today.
You were anxious, biting your lip and nails, and fidgeting like crazy as you waited for Casey to come home. Finally, the door to your shared apartment opened. It creaked open, Casey entered the hallway, and then it creaked shut.
You were in the kitchen, already lightly nursing a glass of wine, standing behind the kitchen island, resting on the island for stability.
Hell, after what Liz has told you, you were sure you would both need the alcohol tonight…
Casey finally came into the kitchen, blazer and shoes still on and case in hand. He stopped at the entrance of the kitchen, froze right on spot.
“Hey Baby…” you gently spoke, as you came around the island, placing the glass down, and coming up to the redhead.
You placed your hands on her side and cheek, while Casey stood frozen still.
“H-hi…” she breathed out.
You looked into her eyes, they were filled with pain and agony. It broke your heart. You pulled your forehead against hers. Casey sighed a little in relief at your direct touch
“Case…” you whispered, “Liz called”
At your words, Casey pulled her head up and stepped back lightly. Suddenly, her briefcase slipped from her fingers and the contents scattered on the ground.
Her eyes began to a swell and her lips began to tremble.
“W-what…?” Casey choked out.
Your heart was being ripped to shreds now. You hated seeing the love of your life in this much pain.
“I talked to Liz. She told me… what happened, about you and the bar…” you softly spoke.
You saw the lump in her throat as Casey swallowed, and as she tried to suppress her tears.
“I’m— I’m a failure” Casey choked out, before she began uncontrollably sobbing.
You were quick to pull her into your embrace, cradling her form with all the love you could muster. Casey immediately melted into your touch, wrapping her hands around you. She instinctively buried her face in the crook of your neck.
“No no no, baby… you’re not a failure.” You whispered, comforting the woman.
“Y-yes I am…!” Casey croaked, in between sobs.
Tears were streaming down the redheads face and onto your shoulder and neck. But you didn’t mind.
“No Case…” you sighed, “You made a mistake… everyone does… and the committee will see that.” You whispered.
You got more uncontrollable sobs in response. You rubbed and caressed Casey in every place you could reach, and you could feel Casey starting to slowly calm, as you let her get it out.
“That’s it. good girl. Get it all out…” you comforted her gently, “How about a bath, hmmm baby…?”
Casey sniffled and nodded slowly into your shoulder. You smiled lightly and nodded, slowly and gently leading Case to your shared bathroom.
You turned the water on.
Then you slowly got her undressed, as well as yourself. Casey wasn’t sobbing uncontrollably anymore, but tears were still rolling off her cheeks and she was still sniffling. You lent her a hand to get into the half-filled tub, joining her promptly after.
Casey was quick to snuggle up to your naked frame, starting to cry again into your chest this time. You played with her hair lightly, gently reassuring her that it was going to be okay and that she was doing good.
Eventually, Casey’s sounds had faded and she started pawing at you.
“Hmmmm Case, what’s up…? Use your words for me, sweet girl…” you coaxed the redhead.
Casey blushed a little.
“Mm hungry…” she murmured.
“Makes sense. Good thing I made lasagna.” You hummed and nodded.
At this, Casey perked up. For a moment, her eyes weren’t dismal, they were hope-filled. But they soon returned to their saddened state.
You then helped Case out of the tub, and handed her a towel to dry off. You both got dressed in your pjs, before heading to the kitchen. You both sat down and you served the food.
Afterwards, you carried a now tired and cried out Casey to your shared bedroom. She immediately snuggled up as the little spoon in bed with you.
“Get some sleep, Case, that’s it… It’s all gonna be okay… we’ll fight this together… but not today. Tomorrow…” you softly spoke.
“Mhmmm… thank you, baby…” Casey murmured, “Don’t know how I got so lucky to be with you…”
“You? I’m the one who’s lucky… luckiest wife alive.” You chuckled.
And before you knew it, she was dozing off, with those little snores you always found so adorable…

Love
It was a quiet night in New York, the kind of night when the city lights shone like stars, and the hustle and bustle faded into a distant murmur. Alex Cabot and Casey Novak walked together through the streets, their pace slow and relaxed, enjoying each other's company. They had known each other for years, having worked together on some of the toughest cases in the prosecutor’s office, but over time, their relationship had evolved beyond the professional.
For both of them, these new feelings were exciting but also a little terrifying. Neither of them was used to the vulnerability that love entailed, much less showing it. However, that night, there was something different in the air, something palpable and full of promises.
They had spent the evening dining at a small Italian restaurant in the East Village. The conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter, memories, and shy confessions. Casey, always the more open and humorous one, had managed to draw several smiles from Alex, who was known for her more reserved and serious demeanor. But in that moment, with Casey, Alex felt free, almost weightless.
Upon leaving the restaurant, they decided to walk instead of taking a cab, enjoying the warm weather of the night. Casey led the conversation as always, while Alex listened, fascinated by how easily Casey could make everything seem lighter, more fun.
However, as they walked, Alex began to notice something growing inside her, a kind of sweet tension, a desire to do something she had been suppressing for weeks. She felt the need to be closer to Casey, to cross that invisible line she had maintained until now. As they reached a small park, one of those tranquil corners of the city that felt removed from the rest of the world, Alex suddenly stopped, causing Casey to turn and look at her with curiosity.
“Is everything okay?” Casey asked, arching an eyebrow, her tone casual but with a spark of concern in her eyes.
Alex took a deep breath, feeling her heart race. The adrenaline coursed through her veins as she took the next step. Without saying a word, she closed the distance between them, and before Casey could react, Alex leaned in and kissed her.
The contact was soft at first, almost shy, as if Alex was waiting to ensure that this was okay. But as soon as she felt Casey respond, something inside her released. The kiss deepened, grew more confident. Alex’s hands moved to hold Casey’s neck, while Casey, surprised at first, soon surrendered to the moment, wrapping her arms around Alex’s waist and pulling her even closer.
The world around them disappeared. There was no traffic, no lights, no noise, only the two of them, caught in that moment that seemed eternal.
When they finally pulled apart, both were breathing somewhat heavily, and Casey, still holding Alex by the waist, looked into her eyes with a mix of surprise and delight. “What was that?” she asked, but her smile suggested she already knew the answer.
Alex, still a little dazed by what she had just done, laughed softly. “Something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.”
Casey smiled, a smile that lit up her entire face. “Well, I can’t say I’m surprised. I’ve been waiting for it to happen too.”
They stood there for a moment, looking at each other in silence, letting the weight of what had just happened settle between them. Finally, it was Casey who broke the silence.
“How about we go to your apartment?” she suggested, her tone light but with a clear implication in her gaze.
Alex didn’t need more than that. She nodded, her hand taking Casey’s, and they began to walk toward Alex’s apartment, this time a little faster, as if they both knew what was about to happen and couldn’t wait any longer.
Once inside Alex’s apartment, they barely managed to close the door before their lips met again, this time with more urgency. Alex gently pulled Casey toward her bedroom, leaving a trail of clothes behind them as they moved. The desire they had both been suppressing for so long had finally erupted, and neither had any intention of stopping.
The night became a whirlwind of passionate kisses, soft touches, and whispers interspersed with laughter. The sheets tangled around their bodies as they moved in a rhythm that only the deep connection they shared could explain. Every touch, every kiss seemed to ignite an even more intense fire in both of them.
Hours later, after they had quenched that initial passion, Alex and Casey lay under the sheets, their breathing still irregular but unable to stop laughing softly, sharing an intimacy that went beyond the physical. They were exhausted but happy, with a sense of peace and satisfaction that few ever experience.
Casey, with her head resting on Alex’s chest, enjoyed the rhythmic sound of her breathing. The warmth of her body was comforting, and while resting there, Casey felt an emotion she hadn’t expected to come so quickly.
She shifted slightly, lifting her head to look into Alex’s eyes. “I love you,” she said, without hesitation. It was a simple declaration, but one loaded with meaning.
Alex fell silent for a moment, surprised. Her heart began to race, as if those two words had ignited a spark inside her. The rapid rhythm of her heartbeat was so palpable that Casey, still resting her head on Alex’s chest, noticed it immediately. She smiled, her lips curving tenderly as she heard the pounding heartbeat.
“I think your heart agrees with me,” Casey joked, lifting her gaze to see Alex’s reaction.
Alex laughed, feeling the heat rise to her cheeks. “You have that effect on me,” she admitted, her hands stroking Casey’s hair. “I didn’t think... I didn’t think this would be so... intense.”
Casey looked at her softly, her eyes shining with a mix of love and amusement. “Well, get ready, because this is just the beginning.”
Alex smiled, leaning in to place a soft kiss on Casey’s forehead. “I love you too,” she finally whispered, letting those words flow with all the sincerity she felt in that moment.
Casey rested her head back on her chest, allowing the sound of Alex’s heart to lull her. They didn’t need to say anything more. They were exactly where they wanted to be, together, tangled in the sheets, wrapped in a happiness they both knew would last far beyond that night.
Outside, the city continued its course, but inside that apartment, in that bed, Alex and Casey’s world was perfect.

Beach day
Tumblr media
It was a perfect summer day on the coast, with the sun high in the clear sky and the soothing sound of waves gently breaking on the shore. Alex Cabot and Casey Novak had decided to take a break from the hustle and bustle of their jobs and everyday life to spend a day at the beach. Between endless cases and family responsibilities, a day of disconnecting felt just what they needed.
Alex drove to the beach while Casey, sitting in the passenger seat, wore her sunglasses, smiling as the wind tousled her hair. It was a simple scene, but every time Alex looked at Casey, she couldn’t help but feel lucky to have such an incredible woman by her side. The sunlight glistening on Casey's skin, her soft laughter when Alex made some silly comment about the clouds, and that tranquility she radiated whenever they were together. In those moments, Alex knew nothing else mattered.
When they arrived at the beach, Casey was the first to get out of the car, stretching her arms and letting out a sigh of relief. "This is just what we needed," she said with a smile while grabbing the towel and the bag with sunscreen, some snacks, and their swimsuits. Alex watched her for a moment, completely distracted by how the sunlight made her hair shine and the serenity that emanated from her.
"Definitely," Alex replied, though she was more focused on Casey than the beach. There was something about seeing Casey relaxed, free from the tension of courtrooms or the hectic life that made Alex feel complete.
They headed toward the beach, finding the perfect spot near the shore. Alex began to set up the towels while Casey rummaged for her bikini in the bag. "I’m going to change," Casey announced as she took the bikini and walked toward the changing rooms.
Alex nodded, trying to focus on spreading out the towels and applying sunscreen. But her mind kept drifting back to her wife. It had been a long time since she had seen Casey relaxed, and the anticipation of seeing her in a bikini added an extra thrill to the day. Alex knew Casey had always been modest about her body, despite Alex finding her absolutely beautiful in every way.
After a few minutes, Casey returned. She wore a bikini that Alex didn’t remember seeing before: a black two-piece that highlighted Casey's tanned skin and honestly left Alex breathless. The top was simple yet elegant, perfectly accentuating the curves of her wife, while the bottom fit just right, showing off those long, toned legs that Alex adored.
Alex, who until that moment had been sitting on the towel applying sunscreen, was completely still upon seeing her. Her eyes roamed Casey's body from her feet to her head, almost unable to believe how lucky she was.
“How do I look?” Casey asked playfully, as she casually looked at herself, seemingly unaware of the effect she had on Alex.
Alex couldn’t help but smile, though her heart raced. “You look... amazing,” she replied, unable to take her eyes off her. “That bikini suits you perfectly.”
Casey laughed, walking over to her and sitting beside her on the towel. “Are you sure it’s not too much?” she asked with a hint of shyness, something rare in Casey that Alex found charming.
Alex leaned in closer, lowering her sunglasses a bit to look directly into her eyes. “It’s just the right amount,” she said softly, letting her hand gently brush against Casey’s leg. “You should wear it more often.”
Casey raised an eyebrow and smiled. “So you like it, huh?”
“I love it,” Alex admitted, now more openly. “And I’m pretty sure everyone else will too.”
Casey shook her head with a soft laugh. “Well, I only care that you like it,” she replied before giving Alex a quick kiss on the cheek. “Now stop staring at me and let’s go for a swim.”
Alex feigned offense. “Stop staring at you? That’s asking a lot.” But she got up and walked with Casey toward the water, feeling the heat of the sand beneath her feet.
The water was perfect, cool enough to be refreshing but not too cold. Casey was the first to dive in, plunging under a wave and surfacing with a shake of her wet hair, looking as stunning as ever. Alex followed her, though she preferred to swim more leisurely, enjoying the water around her and the sun warming her skin.
They swam together for a while, sharing peaceful, relaxed moments. Alex occasionally caught up to her and playfully pushed her under the water, provoking laughter from both. In the water, everything seemed lighter, easier. It was as if the weight of their jobs and responsibilities disappeared for a moment, leaving space only for the two of them, the sun, and the sea.
When they returned to shore, Casey lay down on the towel, her chest rising and falling after swimming. Alex sat beside her, resting her head on her hand while watching the water droplets glisten on Casey's skin.
“You know,” Alex said after a while, her voice soft, “you look happy.”
Casey opened one eye and looked at her. “Yeah?”
Alex nodded. “Yeah. I love seeing you like this, relaxed. You deserve it.”
Casey smiled softly, turning to face her better. “It’s easy to be happy when I’m with you, Alex.” She squeezed her wife’s hand gently. “Moments like this... are what keep me going when work gets crazy.”
Alex smiled, feeling a warmth in her chest that had nothing to do with the sun. “I feel the same way. Sometimes I feel like we don’t have enough time for this.”
“Then we’ll have to do it more often,” Casey said with determination. “No work for a whole day, just you and me.”
Alex leaned forward and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. “Sounds like a perfect plan.”
They spent the rest of the afternoon sunbathing, chatting about trivial things, enjoying each other’s company without interruptions. It was a luxury they couldn’t always afford, but that afternoon, the beach was their little private paradise.
As the sun began to set, bathing the beach in golden and orange hues, Alex and Casey sat watching the horizon, their fingers intertwined. Alex, who normally was reserved with her emotions, couldn’t help but express herself in that moment.
“I love you, Casey,” she said softly, turning to look directly into her wife’s eyes. “More than I can sometimes say. But I want you to know that.”
Casey smiled, that soft smile Alex had always found irresistible. “I love you too, Alex. I don’t know how I’d manage without you.”
They stayed like that for a while, enjoying the comfortable silence that only comes with someone you truly love. The beach, with its gentle breeze and the sound of the waves, seemed like the perfect place to remember what truly mattered.
Finally, as the stars began to appear in the sky, they decided it was time to leave. Casey slipped a light dress over her bikini, and Alex allowed herself one last glance, smiling to herself.
“What are you looking at now?” Casey asked with a laugh.
Alex shook her head. “Just thinking about how lucky I am.”
Casey came over and gave her a quick kiss on the lips before replying, “Trust me, I’m the lucky one.”
And with that, they headed toward the car, leaving the beach behind but carrying the memory of a perfect day with them.
