if the roseprint sisters had kizuna rank titles what would they be
okok im locked in. im going to write out the titles for each pair first and then write my explanations for each under the cut because they're LONG long. written in the order you'd unlock them in
Camellia and Calendula: "The Roseprint Twins", "Strawberries in the Summertime", "The Little Mermaid and Rapunzel"
Calendula and Cece: "I'll Write My Own History Books", "Cinderella or Little Red Riding Hood", "Dandelions in the Breeze"
Cece and Camellia: "A White Winter's Hymnal", "Letters Never Sent", "Across All the Seas and Stars"
"The Roseprint Twins": pretty self explanatory. did you know they're twins? camellia is just barely older than calendula! they're just one year older than Cece, and at the start of the story, they're 14. which is to say the age of the rest of the cast. and im feeling super normal about that !!
"Strawberries in the Summertime": white winter hymnal lyric. song that is unbearably Roseprint sisters coded. i picked this specific one because their childhood experiences of running around the woods in summer is crucial to both of them. it's sort of the only thing reminding them of better times, considering Calendula hasn't experienced a summer since and Camellia hasn't been able to act that freely since then
"The Little Mermaid and Rapunzel": i picked this one specific because i wanted Calendula to have a storybook theme in her titles. girl who has had nothing to do except read and talk to spirits but that's irrelevant for ten years. she certainly sees a lot of herself in Rapunzel considering the whole "trapped in a tower with no socialization" thing. her association between camellia and the little mermaid is much less "direct parallels" and more just vibes. a tragedy about a girl who likes to sing and will never make it back to her sisters. obviously the comparison is looser but yk
"I'll Write My Own History Books": once Cece left, any mention of her in family history books or the like was completely wiped out. the same thing happened to Calendula when she was locked away. when Cece is talking to Calendula while she's making her plan to run away, calendula mentions that she'll get erased like this, and Cece says she'll write her own family history books. and they do! once they live together again
"Cinderella or Little Red Riding Hood": again with the fairytale motif except this time. it's both for Cece! Calendula is of course very glad that Cece is getting out, but she's worried that it will all be for nothing and Cece will just end up in danger again, hence the "or". one of these stories has a happy ending and one doesn't. and Calendula is so worried Cece will end up as little red riding hood and not the star of her own Cinderella story
"Dandelions in the Breeze": oh boy!! starts crying and sobbing. so both of Cece's final trust titles with her sisters are things they said to her right before she left. because at this point Cece had her plan completely laid out but she didn't want to just leave her sisters behind. and Calendula has always compared the two of them to dandelions, how they start yellow and turn white (referencing their hair color; calendula was born first and her hair is blonde, Cece was born after and her hair is the typical-for-their-blood-curse very light periwinkle, which is pretty much white). so when Cece is feeling bad about leaving Calendula behind, she tells Cece to think of her whenever she sees a dandelion. and if she blows the seeds in the wind they'll blow all the way back to Calendula's windowsill and she'll know Cece was thinking about her. BURSTS INTO TEARS AUDHFHFHGHGHG
"A White Winter's Hymnal": another white winter hymnal reference!! this one is just bc i wanted one of Camellia's trust titles with both sisters to have something to do with that song. i already did a whole animatic plan for it because im sane and normal and sane
"Letters Never Sent": i thiiiink i've talked about this?? after Cece made it to the academy, she wrote Camellia and Calendula a letter every single day about what she did and how much she misses them and asking how their lives are going etc etc. she never sent these letters because it wasn't safe for her to send them and it wasn't safe for the twins to receive them, but she wrote them every day for nearly TWO YEARS. AUFHFHFHHFHG
"Across All the Seas and Stars": another heartbreaking quote! yippee! this is actually not something Camellia directly SAID to Cece because she wasn't going to risk talking to Cece and accidentally getting her caught by their parents. so instead, she wrote her a note, that she slipped to her the night before she left. and on that note it said that no matter how far Cece traveled, across time and space, across all the seas and all the stars, she would never stop thinking about her or caring about her. and that she believed that Cece would come back for her and Calendula. hey check out how hard i can cry
wow that was a lot of yapping. if you read this far have a cookie 🍪! this took me three hours in total jesus christ i am ill
