Wonder Woman glanced at Batman, who was busy texting his kids about their missions for the night. She seized the moment to suggest something daring.

Wonder Woman (clearing her throat): Let’s take Batman’s car!

Batman (looking up from his phone): What?

Superman: Yes! I call shotgun!

Batman: No way, we’re not doing this.

Wonder Woman (snapping her fingers): Shoot. That’s fine, I’m a passenger princess anyway.

Batman (confused and annoyed): You’re not—what did you just say?

Green Lantern (interjecting): I want in! I’ve only been in the car once.

Batman (raising his voice): Nobody is getting in my car to drive to City Hall!

Wonder Woman: Oh, come on, it’s just for a meeting that’s not that far. It’d be pointless for us to fly there. You can drive, with a few fun stops along the way.

Superman: We can grab lunch on the way!

Batman: I don’t care if it gets you there faster—I’m not letting you sit in it! Take Arrow’s… whatever he has; he’s rich, too.

Arrow clutched his keys and bolted for the stairs.

Arrow: Sorry man, car is packed with arrows. Meet you there! Bye!

Arrow dashed down the stairs without another word.

Batman: I hate that guy sometimes.

Batman sighed heavily.

Wonder Woman (smiling): We’ll meet you out front then?

Batman (exhaling in exhaustion): I—sure.

The three cheered and headed out, leaving Batman at the table, covering his face with his hands and letting out a groan.

Batman: I can’t stand having them in my car. They’ll want to stop for McDonald’s or something, eat in my car, and I’ll end up cleaning it because Clark always gets ketchup on my upholstery! God damn it!

John Stewart (Green Lantern) walked over and patted Batman on the shoulder.

John: Do the right thing, man. It's just them. I have a car I can drive, so you don’t have to worry about me.

Batman nodded, relenting. He entered the elevator, sighing in defeat.

1) theodore (theo) is a lonely antisocial art student who became divinely protected after his guardian angel fell in love with him. it’s unrequited bc he’s completely unaware. he’s kind of a depressed degenerate pervert but he has a good & pure & beautiful heart that nobody knows about except his angel. he’s from quebec, CA

2) friedrich (freddie) is an insane ivy league nepo baby who has been selling slivers of his soul to the devil in increments. his parents named him after nietzsche. he is very type-a about these deals and believes he will defeat the devil with the power of spreadsheets & cunt. he has ~70% of his soul left. he’s from acapulco, MX

they keep meeting by chance. they’re friends with benefits who ravage each others bodies in a manner that is genuinely psychologically concerning… whore4whore pairing. & sickeningly in love but that’s secret.

something about the show treating percy's use as only being to serve vex's joy kinda fucking hurts. like vex is distraught, she was in the stream and she was here, that's true. but they are framing this as if it's a romantic loss only and it's making me lose my mind. people don't lose their use to others when they enter a relationship. they don't just become somebody's partner. they're still a person. percy was a full person and vox machina is a family and everyone loved him. that was the point of tearing ripley apart in the original glintshore fight, they were nothing but pure rage because they just watched somebody they love die and at the end of the day, past the monsters and world ending threats everything is about their love with each other, as a group; platonic, familial, romantic, but love as a FAMILY. that is critical to understand. they are who they are because they all love each other, they love each other to the ends of the earth. and the show just. doesn't acknowledge that. percy died so vex could feel sad and that's it. truly what even is the point if nobody else cares. the death doesn't matter if nobody else cares. so percy's death doesn't matter.

For anyone else who is gonna struggle surviving the next 3 weeks with the angsty and tense situation of Callowmoore here's a few things from the last 2 episodes that I feel were underrated and will assist in trying to keep me sane/emotionally stable: - Matching messed up hands built for holding - Fearne nervously playing with her hair as she approaches Ashton - Ashton wanted Fearne to be either the last thing they saw if they died or the first thing they saw when they succeeded - Fearne's admittance corroborates Ashley's 4SD revelation that Fearne is in love with someone in the party but doesn't know how to process the emotions - Fearne wanted Ashton to be happy, while Ashton wanted to feel whole so they would be worthy of the Hells - Ashton twice tried to lead a search for Fearne, and instantly clocking onto Chetney saying he followed Fearne - Fearne making herself look as radiant as possible before giving Ashton the cold shoulder - Ashton only rose to Chetney's provocations until he said 'You hurt Fearne' Use how you will

I have a lot of thoughts on this scene. I think the meaning of it is much less straightforward then it appears.

First, "he doesn't know what that means" had to have been said to Armand, not Louis. It would make very little sense for Louis to know about Akasha and Armand to be the one in the dark.

Much of this conversation was between Lestat and Armand, with Louis not quite understanding what's actually being said.

Even though he has Akasha's blood, Lestat is not invincible. Not even close. Lestat absolutely can be killed, Armand probably could have done it that night. If Lestat was as powerful as he's suggesting, the trial would never have happened. Claudia's plot absolutely would have succeeded had Louis let her toss Lestat into the incinerator.

Lestat knows it. Armand knows it. The point of Lestat name dropping Akasha is not I am so powerful you can't step to me, try and you'll die. The fight Lestat's putting up is entirely psychological. Lestat's tactic against Armand here is essentially the same one Louis uses against Lestat a few minutes later.

There is only one place Lestat could have learned the name "Akasha". There is only one person who could have taken Lestat to her. Marius.

I’m going to paint you a picture of modern communication, and how it is fundamentally broken.

Let’s look at one friend. You chat pretty much everyday, and mostly talk to this person on twitter and discord, with occasional tumblr DMs. That’s three places you talk. But that’s actually not true, because you also have each other’s priv twitters and talk there as well. That’s four. Now account for, let’s say, one post reply per account per person, in addition to your DMs. That’s eight. But that’s ALSO not true, because not only do you talk in discord DMs with each other, but you’re in a friend group server as well! And you talk in those channels together! That’s nine.

This is one friend.

Now look around you. How many friends, how many mutuals are you in contact with. A few, a handful, a dozen, more? How many accounts per person do you have, how many places can you send each other posts, devolve into separate topics and conversations? How many people text you as well. Friends, family, coworkers? What do you do day to day around catching up, what IRL commitments will rip you away long enough to let the pile build again?

I can’t do it. I cannot live an actual life in the real world and balance this much interaction, it’s crushing. I reply to a friend’s post because I’m interested in the subject, I want to have a discussion! I WANT to talk about it with them, but I immediately kick myself for adding another conversation to the pile. Day by day, I ignore messages for hours on end and watch mountains pile around me, to reply en masse at the end of the night to let the cycle repeat. I wake up to six discord DMs and as I clear the third, the first replies back again.

We weren’t meant to have thirty simultaneous conversations. We weren’t. And you know in your bones that the number isn’t an exaggeration.
