I have to write here two dreams so I can remember them later, as they’re clearly messages.

Really mean people. One of them noticed me, squinted and said “Aren’t you [MY NAME] from the junior high of [MY JUNIOR HIGH’S NAME]? You used to be so bold, so eccentric, riot! What are you doing here?”

I tried to explain that I’m working in the ministry and for the president but they didn’t listen.

I woke up confused, really questioning where I should be and how I should be? I keep getting in my waking life messages that I’m not being my authentic self (apparently, the tarot card Empress is my authentic self). Ukrainian front at crossroads: Vuhledar at risk, new attempts in Kursk region

The offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in the Kursk region completely lost its snowball effect, turning into another section of the front line, while media outlets are sharing footage of the ongoing retaliatory offensive by Russian troops.

Ukrainian media report the capture of Borki by the Russian 810th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade in the south-eastern section of the Kursk front. Fierce fighting continues in the Glushkovo area. Russian troops also advanced up to 3.5 kilometres ahead of the Oskil River.

Meanwhile, the AFU advanced in Toretsk. However, the Russians responded by advancing in the Vuhledar direction. Some sources report the capture of a local mine. Soldiers carried out an assault, advancing in and around the Pivdennodonbaska 3 coal mine. Media shared footage of the assault and high-explosive aerial bomb strikes.

The town of Vuhledar, strategically important for Ukraine’s entire defence, risks being cut off, with the garrison, defending it for 2½ years, shattered during the assault. Moreover, media outlets are reporting a gradual deterioration of the AFU’s situation in Niu-York (former Novhorodske) fortification area and east of Zhelanne, Donetsk region.

Media also share footage of a Russian Inokhodets drone striking a US M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). As a result of the strike, the launcher, ammunition, escort vehicle, and maintenance personnel were eliminated.

Kursk incursion

Military experts assume that the AFU will continue to carry out targeted strikes near the village of Glushkovo and other locations. Having broken through certain defence hubs, Ukrainian troops may find themselves in a difficult position in case they need to retreat.

Meteorological services are also predicting a rainy season in a week, which will further complicate military operations in the region, as most roads from Sudzha to Sumy are not paved.

Recently, global media have been actively covering the events around the Glushkovsky district in the Kursk region. CNN recently published an article stating that Ukraine’s Kursk offensive “was seen as a major success, but it came at a huge cost.” Ukrainian commanders faced accusations that ordinary soldiers were being thrown onto the front line without a specific objective.

The following video shows the destruction of the 155mm Self-Propelled Howitzer M109, an M1126 Stryker APC, and passenger cars at the entrance to the village of Gogolevka, Sudzha district in the Kursk region.

The Ukrainian military reportedly faced a problem with navigation and communication between units. Due to the suppression of GPS and cellphone signals, the Ukrainians relied on the Starlink internet service, but it did not work in the area where the AFU had advanced. Media also shared footage of AFU soldiers camouflaging an overturned armoured jeep in the Kursk region.

Some media, including Ukrainian and Russian, reported that the AFU had broken through the defences on the Russian border largely not due to the effect of surprise, but at the cost of huge losses of manpower and equipment.

Week 6 - Photos + References

Week 6, Photos. Some may argue that at first photos may been portrayed as the easiest activities throughout the entire semester. As easy as photos may seem as, perceived by Brogie., (2024) the average person takes roughly 20.2 photos per day. 

Although taking photos was perceived as easy and the photos required was to be, a human, and animal, a landscape, and an object of any kind. Each of these requirements also had rules in which they had to follow, Rule of Symmetry, rule of thirds, frame within a frame and a photo that should tell a story. 

Each of these rules that were required in the 4 photos are just as important as anything else, as these rules are what makes photographers great. Mai et al., (2011) explains how the Rule of thirds is one of the most important composition rules used by photographers to create high quality photos.”

The photograph although being my first time applying these requirements in my photos, I believe came out well. Another important requirement that was required in my photos was a photo that tells a story. “Storytelling photography prioritizes the narrative and emotional impact of the image.” (Pop photography., 2024). Each of these requirements are all parts of the activity that gained me extra knowledge on the subject was how to apply these, for instance I learnt that to apply the rule of thirds a person has to turn their grids of their camera on. The rule ok thirds are also a rule that I have since implemented in each photo I take.

after reading your post about the BJHS, I think you should get investigates for hEDS (hypermobile Ehler-Danilo’s Syndrome) or HSD (hypermobility spectrum disorder). BJHS is definitely not about people suffering bad and severe chronic pain (and from all the things I’ve seen you talk about your chronic pain, yours IS severe).

I was diagnosed last May with HSD. (The whole EDS/HSD diagnosis difference is essentially political bullshit but not gonna bore you with it).

The supports I’ve received including dieticians, physio, pain specialists, psychs and just… everything have helped improve my quality of life tremendously.

EDS/HSD are degenerative disorders and can only be managed. But with specialised physio (regular physio will just wear your joints out faster…) it helps strengthen your muscles to prevent you from wearing your joints out further.

Ehler-Danilo's Syndrome doesn't seem to fit me (with this quick glance) due the fact it can cause bruising and scarring easily, and skin is usually over elastic.

The person I mentioned in the post had gotten a diagnosis themselves from a doctor, so it's not just something like "I think I've got it". They said that the journey to the diagnosis was hard as it's relatively not well documented or known disease with all the side effects. I'm happy they've got the diagnosis!

Two weeks of Kursk incursion: stalemate, far-right AFU discrediting, thwarted negotiations and Donbas collapse

The incursion into the Kursk region launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) reached a stalemate in a fortnight, while Ukrainian soldiers continue to discredit themselves by looting shops, wearing forbidden symbols and naming their battalions after WWII-era German units. While the Kursk offensive drags on, the defences in the Donbas, depleted for the sake of the incursion, start scattering.

Ilario Piagnerelli, a journalist of the Italian TV channel Rai News 24, interviewed an AFU soldier wearing a cap with the symbols of the German SS division “Adolf Hitler.”

What was seen outraged the Italian public. Italian politician Christian Di Marco harshly condemned the actions of the Ukrainian soldiers and Italian journalists who took the interview.

We are already in the Third World War, on the brink of its most terrible manifestation. And yet, the elite idiots, i.e. the Westerners, continue to talk about a “brilliant act of resistance” referring to the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline, a “masterful Ukrainian operation” on Russian soil. As if that were not enough, they even go to interview Ukrainian soldiers in Nazi SS uniforms, illegally, in #Russia.

Piagnerelli’s colleagues, Stefania Battistini and Simone Trini, accused of illegally crossing the Russian border, filmed a report from Sudzha but quickly returned to Italy for security reasons.

Ukrainian media reported that the Ukrainian Nachtigall Battalion took part in the Kursk incursion. The special unit of the same name existed at the time of WWII Germany.

Nachtigall was a battalion of Ukrainian nationalists, subordinate to the military intelligence Abwehr and existed in 1941-42. They operated on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR as part of a sabotage unit.

Russian troops also exposed the atrocities of the AFU soldiers, recorded on the GoPro of one of the military. Ukrainian units reportedly took not only soldiers but also civilians, turning them into hostages.

Derailed negotiations and AFU collapse in Donbas

Against the backdrop of atrocities committed by Ukrainian army soldiers, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that there was no point in holding talks with the current Ukrainian government.

Meanwhile, due to the pullback of reserves to the Kursk region, the AFU defence in Donbas (Luhansk and Donetsk regions) weakened. Ukrainian media report that Russian troops have advanced in the Pishchane and Orikhovo-Vasylivka areas.

The Russian military also advanced in Pokrovsk and Toretsk areas. It is reported that Niu-York (former Novhorodske) was almost completely under Russian control.

Kursk region situation

The last two weeks have shown that the rapid breakthrough of the AFU in conditions of insufficient mobility and defence stalled. If the primary objective was to demonstrate a strike on Russian territory and to show that Ukraine could hit Russian lands, then the Ukrainian authorities have fulfilled the incursion objective.

However, if the objectives were military, including taking the key directions of Sudza – Snagost, Korenevo – Rylsk and Lgov – Kurchatov, the AFU did not demonstrate operational success. The Ukrainian army actually pulled forward the main forces that must be supplied with all the equipment necessary for combat operations.

The incursion also entailed losses, including the destruction of three HIMARS MLRSs, Patriot and IRIS-T SAMs in close proximity to the front. However, the use of such weapons close to the border poses a high risk of destroying scarce equipment.

The AFU reportedly continues to move its troops along the H-07 Kyiv-Sumy road with access to Sudzha. However, Russian forces are successfully attacking both reserves and evacuated equipment in that area. The main battles with varying success are converging on the R-200 highway to Kursk.

With the loss of surprise, the Ukrainian forces have lost the opportunity for the most effective offensive, as the Russians have already had time to strengthen their positions and prepare for possible attacks. Moreover, the R-200 highway, like the H-07 road, was actually a no-alternative route and subject to fire control by the Russian army.

Ukrainian troops could have invaded the Kursk region for the sake of media swaying the population, both their own and Russian. However, the Ukrainian operation thwarted the possibility of negotiations and also revealed to the world the discreditable actions of Ukrainian nationalist soldiers. Moreover, the invasion significantly weakened the defence of the AFU in Donbas.
