If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is the relationship between WBD and RT like, and how does it differ with their other subsidiaries? My impression is while under WBD, they're more hands-off with RT and how they operate, but only so long as they make money back. And the only times when WBD would financially back an RT project is when they would be more directly involved, or if RT was cut out of the equation entirely. I'm likely missing something, but this was what I could fit in 1 ask.
I have no idea where anyone got the idea that WBD was ever “hands off” on anything RT related.
And anything RT does is technically “financially backed by” or “approved by” WBD.
WBD owns RT. It’s all connected. That’s how parent companies work.
That doesn’t mean, however, if WBD succeeds and makes money that RT succeeds and makes money. But just because WBD doesn’t throw piles of cash at RT doesn’t mean that WBD doesn’t have a say in a lot of what does and doesn’t happen there.
All the HBO MAX advertising, the crossover content (movies/comics/Gen:Lock 2) - all of that stuff was WBD and RT doing the ol’ corporate handshake.
Including when RT social media promoted and advertised NFTs.
I also believe (according to the 2022 RTX schedule) RT did a Crypto/NFT/Web3.0 panel that promoted these things as “the wave of the future”.
Soooo that’s that on that.

The Logan Paul v. Coffeezilla Lawsuit: Part One
Here's a situation I never thought I'd be talking about, but here we are! Let's dive on in to Logan Paul's huge defamation suit against Coffeezilla.
This post is going to be Part 1 of the story; I will cover the background information and set the scene for what led up the the suit being filed, then cover the actual suit in another post.
Part 1 does not contain any of the actual lawsuit itself; this is just everything that led up to it. That said, though, I think it's important to offer something of an opening statement before we get into the real meat of the situation. That said, though, I'll keep this to a brief summary.
Check back for updates as the case goes on; I will publish them when I have time to write them. Let's get into the events that led to this crazy ass lawsuit.
If you don't know—lucky you—Logan Paul is an infamous internet personality, getting his start on Vine before moving on over to YouTube. Stephen Findeisen, better known as Coffezilla, is a fellow creator in the YouTube space, though to my knowledge, he's not nearly as infamous. Now that the players in this case have been identified, let's get into what I'm here for: breaking down this mess of a case. Essentially, Paul promised CryptoZoo, his online gaming crypto-NFT business, would make users hard cash without actually having to lift more than a finger. Findeisen has been on Paul's trail for the better part of two years now; he's been tracking Paul's rise in income, his fans loss thereof, and the fall of CryptoZoo as a whole—calling it out for the scam he saw it is. That's where Paul comes in and slaps Findeisen with this defamation case, citing the latter "maliciously and repeated published false statements about [the former], accusing him of being a scammer," and these claims have "hurt [Paul's] reputation and caused him significant emotional distress."
You know, the standard defamation lawsuit shit.
What exactly is CryptoZoo, anyway? In short, the game was Pokemon-inspired and required users to buy coins to breed digital animals; the rarer of these animals would then earn the user cold, hard cash. Naturallt, the allure was there, and Paul's fans ended up spending over $2.5M on the game. This was excellent news to Paul since he claimed his team was out $1M on the project, and this led ro Paul gaining legitimacy on the crypto market, valued at nearly $2B for his so- called Zoo coin.
That was three years ago, though; as of 2024, the game is not playable, and all the money spent on it was essentially wasted. Just a month after launch, the development team behind the game jumped ship, alleging Paul and his team stole coins from its investors and lied to the world that he'd paid them their $1M back. Paul really had nothing to say, though, until Coffeezilla started talking about the alleged scam in 2022, and that's why we're here now.
What came between then and now was a series of Paul and his team pointing fingers at one another, casting blame for why the project failed and trying to dodge any and all accountability for where all of his fans' hard-earned money is. There is more frivalous drama to the story here, but I have a lot on my plate, so I'm skipping over the filler detail. The gist of it is Findeisen called out Paul enough times that the latter got pissed and sued him. Now, to the actual lawsuit!

NFTs and AI, the marriage
So, this is quite a complicated post to write, because a lot of people close to me abandoned me at the beginning of 2022 when I did these things. But if they're still around, or reading this, you must understand that making money, and affording things I've needed for over a decade, is my top priority (if you view me and the things I do in the harshest black and white light possible, maybe we weren't meant to know each other anyway).
Making money by any means necessary in the middle of increasing inflation, as the prices of food and necessities skyrocket, should be everyone's priority. Especially if you are a normal person who isn't rich.
That said, I had not one, but a few hand drawn NFT projects. I made them myself. I bought into the Ethereum network and got featured by the official Twitter account, a full year before Elon Musk bought and destroyed the website.
(pieces from my project, Catgirl Pixel Club, including a screenshot of Twitter's ownership of one I made named Skelly)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made a little bit of money, bought a bunch of things I needed, and then watched the whole scene turn into an obsessive gambler's paradise for scams and trickery (which is still happening, as I type this).
But I left that all behind and put the project I was and still am casually working on up on my website, for free. Nowadays I've mostly returned to music and writing.
I had a lot of fun making these things, though, and after I left behind the blockchain mess, I realized that I could still do this, because the part I liked most about it was just that--making the art.
(pieces from my current, now completely free project, the haxPunks)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
None of these were generated by anything. All of them were inspired by cryptopunks, which, funnily enough, was a completely free project before NFTs became a thing.
But not even cryptopunks were fully and completely drawn by hand. And most NFT projects you see aren't either. Nearly all of them are cheaply made, auto-generated bundles of assets that were made once and forgotten.
And you might ask yourself, "How in the world does or would this have anything to do with AI?"
What was and still is the purpose of the current atmosphere of NFTs?
To make as much money as possible for as little effort as possible.
If you can autogenerate assets, and then autogenerate 1000 utility avatars using those assets, you have a machine that doesn't even require an artist.
The wild thing is, they were doing this before these algorithms gained major steam and started stealing art all over the internet. I remember the ads on Facebook for the software that could "generate fully 3d NFTs for you in minutes!"
I got into NFTs because I wanted a new way to share art, and I wanted to do something fun.
Most people get into NFTs because they want to be millionaires for nothing.
We are not the same.
And AI is one side of the same coin.
If you buy into the AI "art" hype, you are buying into what is an extension of something most people already hate. or are at least very leery of.
Make art, do it with your own hands no matter how good or bad it looks, and whether or not anyone likes it. Because 50 years from now we could be surrounded by media that has no soul, connected to no artists, and if nobody's making anything just because a machine is sampling things from half a century before it destroyed society ...
then we as a species are surely dead.
Thank you for reading.

Glass Ceiling Disco
Digital Mixed Media Glitch. Original .png submitted and not accepted to Pussy Riot x SaveARTSpace billboard campaign for 2022. Glitched and modified to fit your television screen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since it's creation, Glass Ceiling Disco has been exhibited internationally at SXSW, @TEDTalks, NFT NYC, Searchlight Atelier, multiple virtual and in person galleries and Fylthy Trash Art Exhibit in Los Angeles. The day it was at TED talks in Vancouver funnily enough, it was in LA also projected in an alley by a dumpster in LA to actualize the idea of "Empress Trash" on a international scale.
Glass Ceiling Disco is a vision of how crypto and nfts will help shatter the glass ceiling that many traditional markets and institutions have in place for women, PoC, LGBTQ and other marginalized populations. This piece I purposefully priced higher as part of the magic of it, because this piece is about my hopes of the crypto art spaces future in shattering glass ceilings of traditional art markets, not just for myself, but for other women and LGBTQ+ and trash/glitch/experimental art creators. It depicts my doc martens dancing on a bed of broken glass, which is what I see as the broken glass ceiling.
These docs I wear to every event I go to because they help me feel grounded and safe surrounded by strangers. As a survivor of childhood and domestic abuse, any tool to feel a little safer navigating the world helps, and these docs are like a safety blanket for me.
Further I chose the energy of joy to be in the piece, instead of critiquing how markets are still currently imbalanced for women artists as a whole, because it is the joy I am trying to manifest. The bright colors are the celebration and the glitch animation is the disruption which is needed of the systems for equity to happen.
While this work is still available for purchase, the message and ethos was heard and resonated instigating change for myself, the crypto art systems and focus, and beyond in ways I still can not comprehend. These two boots carried me from a relatively obscure underground artist to international recognition. I wonder where else these boots will lead me?
Some day we will dance on the glass to celebrate hearing the crunch under our feet.
adidas Originals and Renowned Artist FEWOCiOUS Announce Collaborative Partnership
Tumblr media
Continuing the brand's exploration of art, culture, creativity, and Web3 innovation, adidas Originals has come together with the trailblazing 20-year-old artist, FEWOCiOUS, to announce a new partnership. A harmonious collision of perspectives, the collaborative endeavor blends the Trefoil’s commitment to innovation with the artist’s creative flair, as adidas Originals and FEWOCiOUS present a bold range of physical and digital product drops.
Widely regarded as one of the leading members of a growing community of Web3 artists, Victor Langlois, known as FEWOCiOUS, has built a reputation for his playful style, bold aesthetic, and deeply personal approach; telling his life story and experience as a transgender youth through his work. First appearing in an official capacity with adidas /// Studio (Three Stripes Studio) for an installation during Art Basel Miami in December 2022, FEWOCiOUS has long had an affinity for the brand, using adidas silhouettes as an artistic canvas from as far back as when he was 16 years old.
Marking the arrival of the collaborative partnership, adidas Originals and FEWOCiOUS have come together to launch a limited edition, product-linked Trefoil Flower Mint Pass. Launching on June 22nd, it will also unlock the opportunity for NFT holders to redeem the complimentary artist-designed Campus 00’s sneaker. Embodying FEWOCiOUS’ signature style, the timeless adidas Originals silhouette has been given a black and white ‘linework' makeover, contrasted by a thick, blue and white cloud pattern lace.
Commenting on the milestone partnership, FEWOCiOUS said, “Working with adidas is a real dream come true. I can’t believe I was paintin’ adidas shoes in my bedroom by myself four years ago and now I get to officially collaborate with them! This is one of the longest projects I’ve ever worked on and keeping things a secret is so hard I just want to scream it from the rooftops! I really believe in the future of fashion and footwear and the intersection of digital and physical, and I’m so excited for these to see the world and for everyone to be part of that journey with me.”
This drop also represents a new step for adidas. The launch will be the first time that the brand has produced a token-gated, NFC-tagged sneaker that is also tied to a limited edition NFT. Holders of the FEWOCiOUS x FewoWorld: Paint NFTs, along with holders of the ALTS by adidas ‘Decos’ and ‘Soles’ [ALT]er Ego NFTs, will be offered a range of exclusive benefits, including discounted pricing and early access via OpenSea on June 22nd. However, the brand and artist have also ensured that a range of NFT holders from their wider ecosystems will also be given the chance for early access before the wider public sale later that day. The Trefoil Flower Mint Pass will be exclusively available for mint and purchase through the OpenSea platform, the world’s leading NFT marketplace.
Seeking to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation for the Web3 community, as well as inspiring the wider integration of technology and artistry into the fashion landscape, those purchasing the adidas Originals x FEWOCiOUS Trefoil Flower Mint Pass will be given the exclusive opportunity to redeem the physical Campus 00’s sneaker later in the summer.
An Alternative to the Studio System?: Indie Animation Forges Ahead [Part 1]
Tumblr media
Screenshots from the pilot of Nori and Zin (left) and latest episode of Gods' School (right).
Indie animation is on fire as of late. This is clear from the hundreds of thousands of dollars given to Final Space creator Olan Rogers for his animated project, Godspeed, which will document the "entire process of developing, writing, boarding, animating, and even pitching" an animated series. Sara Eissa, the creator of Astur's Rebellion, an animated series Crunchyroll passed on (to their detriment), has been posting updates and news about a site/startup that she founded, named Toon Cave.
Reprinted from Pop Culture Maniacs, my History Hermann blog, and Wayback Machine. This was the eleventh article I wrote for Pop Culture Maniacs. This post was originally published on July 15, 2022.
Originally, it was a video-sharing platform for animated content, similar to the indie animation platform, Fiyah. Toon Cave recently changed to a "marketplace for freelance animators to find work or collaborate with other animators" which Eissa called "more viable". Some may be disappointed in this result, but it could be a boon for indie animators. It will likely be NFT-free, since Eissa rightly recognized recently that "many artists are against it for ethical reasons".
Many creators, artists, and others responded positively to my previous post about indie animation. As such, this post will not only be an update on that post, but it will highlight new animations that I wasn't aware of at the time I wrote that post.
Patreon is buzzing with activity. The first episode of Nori and Zin is being animated by sharpytown. Lopside Animation, which produced Long Gone Gulch, is moving forward with rough animations and likely more episodes in the future. Zeurel says the pilot of his series, Monkey Wrench, is almost ready to be released. Those working on Sheepish, a series with a non-binary protagonist, are saving up money until they begin crowdfunding. They are continuing to work on the pilot.
Animator Rebecca Doodles has said she is going ahead with development of the now-3D animated cartoon, Stellapie, and other projects. Also of note is The East Patch, a series created by the same people behind The West Patch. It has retro animation, a nostalgic style, and amazing art. It continues to move forward. [1]
youtube
Production on future episodes of Heloise's Dreamophrenia animated series continues forward. Gods' School, created by a French animator, Gaylord C. Libessart, an indie animated series based on Greek mythology, continues to barrel ahead. A recent short episode about Aphrodite loving Ares and Hephaestus, and unsure of which one to choose, was released on the show's official YouTube channel earlier this month. Unlike previous episodes, it is less than five minutes long. More animated shorts are in production, with one coming this fall.
Hannah Daigle, a bisexual animator who is creating Satina, is advancing with the project. She put out a call for additional animators earlier this year. Faeduck Studios, which I have mentioned in previous posts, a studio creating BIPOC LGBTQ+ animated films and short, in their words, decided to shelve Howdy Cloudboy as an animated pilot back in September. However, they decided to turn Howdy Cloudboy into a motion comic, meaning that it is still continuing. Since September, pages of the comic have been released on the studio's Patreon. [2]
Otherwise, Wild Card, a mature murder mystery series about lawyers. It is created by a bisexual man named Alex Bahrawy. There are continued releases of Wild Card: Shuffled! illustrated pages on the show's Patreon and Webtoon. According to the show's official Twitter account, the pilot's pre-production by Astrobun Studio is done.
Similarly, animated series by Black animator Brandon Wright, the creator behind Guardian Instance, Diver: The Animated Series, and Silver Lin, among other animations go forward. Vivienne Medrano, creator of indie smash hits Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, noted progress on the second season of Helluva Boss, which is premiering on July 31. These series share similarities with Genevieve Fleming's House of Hell which is about demons, and a human girl, Oria, who "has to live with them in an abandoned house".
This is only scratching the surface of this indie animation boom, if it can be called that. There are various currently airing indie animated series. Apart from the aforementioned Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, the latter in development for a full-fledged animated series, there's Ollie & Scoops. The series, by Nico Colaleo, a good friend of Medrano, just aired its ninth episode, "Vinnie Video".
In comments below the episode, Colaleo noted that episode 10 will pick up where this episode left off. More episodes are likely in production. The series is notable especially because it includes many well-known voiceover artists. This includes Kimmy Robertson, Eric Bauza, Mara Wilson, James Rolfe, Mike Stoklasa, and Daron Nefcy.
Eddsworld, is currently airing. Matt Hargreaves is the current showrunner. emojitown, a series by the emoji company and Wisdom Nunn's Bob's World are also airing. In the latter case, two episodes of the series have aired on YouTube. The third episode is currently in production. Slowly airing this year is an independent anime series, Interstellar Ranger Commence.
The first episode was released on the official YouTube channel of Browntable, the series production company, on April 2nd. Although the episodes were originally scheduled to be released on a monthly basis, the second episode was delayed to sometime in July.
The same can be said about Michael and James, a series by Jon Lopez, who is also a lead animator for Eddsworld. The last episode aired in February, and the series is currently on hiatus. This short web series sticks in my mind because the first episode is a musical song by Elsie Lovelock who voices a guitar-singing girl named Leslie Loveydovey declaring "This House is Mine" as she invades the house of Michael and James. Lovelock later voiced Charlie Magne in the pilot of Hazbin Hotel. She has voiced many other characters and records covers for her YouTube channel.
Tumblr media
There are other series currently in production just as exciting. Take, for example, Indigo, a sci-fi animated series created by a Latine non-binary storyboard artist named Moon, who often draws The Owl House fan art. Max is a non-binary protagonist, who realizes that the universe is ruled by two alien dictators, and goes on a journey to stop them. The pilot episode is currently in production. Moon put out a search for 2D animators and background artists for the series. They even created a Discord server for indie animation! The series, according to the show creator, will include asexual characters, robots, and villains scarier than before. [4]
Various indie animators responded to a tweet from Moon. There were some series I was familiar with, like the coming-of-age Stars Align, a cop series named Succubus Cop, and a space opera series Lumi and the Great Big Galaxy. In addition is a pilot by two gay married men (Félix M. and Floyd) filled with LGBTQ+ characters, Gadzooks! & The Cryptoid Kids, and a New Orleans based series named LimeLight.
Also of note is the magical slice-of-life entitled Mugshot and Pollen, the artistic-themed Long Way from Del'Arte, a horror-action-romance pilot named Nocturne, a fully deaf produced animated show named Corrupted Memories, and an upcoming series named Fighting All Odds.
There were other series I was not aware of, such as a sci-fi action adventure named Defenders of Alodia, a horror sci-fi named Crater Cove, and Creosote Raining! by Joshua. The latter recommended I mention an independent horror mini series, My Roof. There are many more I could mention, like a 2D science-fantasy named Among the Others and the game-themed Bit Wars. [5]
Fighting All Odds is more than an upcoming series. On January 28, the show's creator, Robert J. Preston, told me in a direct message that the show is a coming-of-age story about Jackie. While she is deaf and hard of hearing, her deafness isn't the subject of the show, as noted by Preston. Rather, the focus is on her hero's journey. At certain points, Jackie uses American Sign Language (ASL) to talk to specific people. There are two deaf consultants to make sure the series best represents a "group of people who deserve more representation."
The series has LGBTQ characters, like a non-binary character named Oli/Ironside, and those with disabilities. Preston emphasized these characters aren't written different from any others. In his words, Jackie's struggles come from her choices as a hero and individual, but not because of her deafness. He added that the series may touch upon LGBTQ identities and disabilities of specific characters as part of the "exciting super hero action story".
Corrupted Memories, an animated series by a deaf Latine storyboarder, Jocelyn Saravia, has some thematic similarities to Fighting All Odds. This series is aiming to be a "fully deaf produced animated show", with a pilot coming out possibly in the next year or so. The series may have some themes reminiscent of Inside Job, by former writer for Gravity Falls, Shion Takeuchi, as it centers on a "mysterious stolen experimental drug" which causes tension between college students, who try and find answers and attempt to piece together what happened.
As the show's official website says, they don't want those investigating the incident to know everything. The series may also be influenced by series such as Kim Possible, as Saravia says they were inspired to go into animation because of the show, and The Owl House, since she is a big fan of the latter series. They are also the creator of a comic named Mother Traces.
This differs from Evan's series, Lumi and the Great Big Galaxy. The show's Kickstarter further describes it as a sci-fi fantasy with humor and adventure, and a "mix of both episodic and linear storytelling." The page also notes that this animated series in development is inspired by Wonder Over Yonder and Steven Universe, and says it has been in development since he was in middle school. The series is planned to be released in either late 2022 or early 2023, with the voice actors even outlined!
This series is as exciting as LimeLight. It is a series, according to its Patreon, mainly set in New Orleans. The series focuses on Ashira GoldenFire who is trying to make her way in the music industry but she becomes associated with "darker side of life" through Carter Sillver. She falls in love with him, but her future from then on is uncertain. Its quite an exciting hook into the story.
The series had its first livestream with the show's voice actors, creator MoralSky (Hannah I. Johnson), and many others, streamed on the show's YouTube channel. These creators recognize what Jenn, co-creator of the Sunflower Club, stated: "indie animation is not for the weak".
Tumblr media
Penelope LeBlanc lovingly hugs Dakota Rivers, while Elizabeth Montgomery looks on in a screenshot of a short animated clip by Stars Align creator, Thea
The Patreon for Stars Align, a slice-of-life fantasy with LGBTQ+ representation may open on August 1, according to Thea, the show's creator. There was recently a collaboration with another upcoming musical series, Sunnyside Magic High. Thea noted that Stars Align takes inspiration by The Owl House. This isn't a surprise as she has drawn The Owl House and Amphibia fan art. Currently, writing for the pilot episode is done, while plotlines for season one are being worked on.
In an interesting coincidence, there is an anime series with the same name directed by Kazuki Akane, and cut from 12 episodes down from 24 at the last minute. That series shares something with Thea's Stars Align. There is LGBTQ representation as well. Yuta "Yu" reveals he is "binary trans, x-gender, or something else entirely" as one reviewer pointed out. The series also has a focus on mental health too like Thea's Stars Align. In response to a fan, Thea noted that she was aware of this similarity two years after she had created her characters.
On a related note is Pia's Mugshot and Pollen, a magical slice-of-life. I'm a big fan of older slice-of-life series like Azumanga Daioh, and Dear Brother, and newer series such as Ascendance of a Bookworm, Akebi's Sailor Uniform, Laid-Back Camp, Let's Make a Mug Too, and YuruYuri. I also like stories with magic, so this series would be right up my alley, and anyone else who enjoys such as series.
On a different vein is storyboarder Amber Avara's Nocturne, filled with "vampires, retrofuturistic tech, nu-wave music". She describes the series as a cross between Jem and the Holograms and Berserk. It shares some similarities with Allissoon's Battle of the Bands. The latter is a 2d mature animated series in development about a world where musicians "have elemental powers based on the genre of music they play". It is a series which sounds like a real rocker, for sure.
Then there's Mysteries of Kruger Mansion which follows 14 young adults, ages 18 to 19, cast in a reality game show set in a haunted mansion. According to a direct message from Deric Jackman, one of the show's co-creators (Adam Blubdi is another creator), this turns into a quest for "sinister truth" behind the mansion. It is, in his words, a "dark drama thriller" with blood, comedy, and a deep-cutting story.
The series, once finished, will air on the YouTube channel of Blu Productions, the company producing the series. The series, in some ways, gives me the same vibe as the classic 1993 supernatural black comedy film, Addams Family Values. It also makes me think about the short-lived young adult animated series, The Hollow, which had reality game show elements.
On another note is a sci-fi action-adventure cartoon named Defenders Of Alodia. It is created by Naya, a 19-year-old Black animator and SCAD student. Art direction and character design are by Vector Convoy. This series, in development, has a Kickstarter in the process. It is being produced by an emerging animation company, Boldbird Studios.
A recent tweet from the show's official Twitter account said it has "Black girl magic" and stated that the series is "coming soon". It fundamentally differs from Long Way From Del'Arte. The latter focuses on artistic friends who travel their world of "art, magic and science to find ancient stones that have the power to grant wishes". All these projects come with a risk, even though many don't want to deal with studios anymore, as some have noted.
OKX however, has a better trading experience and a stronger self-custodial web3 account. While we like to place Binance as the best in this category, OKX is not that far from the top.
OKX vs. Binary: User-Friendliness
Newer traders will find it difficult to use the interfaces of both platforms due to the large range of products and features that are available. However, if you're an experienced trader who knows the ropes The user experience is likely to be better on both of the platforms. It's difficult to decide which platform is better in this case, therefore we referred to it as an "equal".
OKX vs. Binance: Fees
Both exchanges are renowned for their low-cost structures. In the beginning, the fees for the taker and maker are 0.1%. OKX charges 0.08% for both takers and makers, and 0.1 percent, respectively. Binance is the clear winner, despite significantly lower trading charges. It offers zero fees for trading with stablecoin BTC pairs, BUSD spot trading charges, and complete fiat banking services.
OKX vs. Security
A similar approach to security measures can be seen in both of these top-tier cryptocurrency exchanges. It's impossible to go wrong if security is your primary security concern.
Conclusion
Both Binance and OKX are among the largest crypto exchanges in the world. With both exchanges, you won't be disappointed. Binance is a good choice for traders who want better access to money. OKX is the best option for traders looking for KYC trading and more efficient bot implementation.
Reflections and Plans
2022 has been an interesting year for me and a great learning curve. I developed most of my Opensea collections, used Polgyon to get that free minting, and converted a lot of my old cartoons from this blog into NFTs. I also gave away quite a few of my cartoons, and have since been listing many for sale. But this project has more been just a new avenue for me to express my cartoons. I still see…
© 2022 Gadeton, All Rights Reserved [HAPPY NEW YEAR 23]
This is my final illustration for 2022, and this is kind of a simple on to say.
I didn’t have enough time to do my 2022 Art Sumary since I registered my account back two months after I moved from my old one, and I don’t want to add my old illustrations through my new account under a new name, so I decided to do another illustration in which it is a reference to the Congratulations Screen for Mario in the 1999 Fighting Game known as Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64.
Let me give out my final verdict for this year. So honestly 2022 was kinda below average to say the least, with most of the flaws surrounding the war in Ukrainie and the fact that a ton of NFTs and AI Art are on the rise and there a ton of drama with many of the flames being fueled on Twitter, though I don’t any opinion to say on 2022, and of course I was very busy for the majority of year because I’m having a massive development trouble with my first project and it’s really tough to figure out as I need to elaborate much on my own ideas regarding around my first project, other than that. This wasn’t pretty much of a great year for everyone, but for me, I find this year to be below average at best, not technically the worst year like 2020, but pretty far from it. I’m hoping that 2023 would be a better year and hopefully will get better when 2023 arrives.
Happy New Year Everyone and stay tune for other projects coming in the way.
Sorry that there is no Christmas related illustration, because I was six days late to make it and had to illustrate this in order to make up for Christmas illustration that I was planning to draw for this year, but maybe next if I have more time, I could illustrate that Christmas illustration for the upcoming year.
Creators Using OpenSea Earned Over $1 Billion from Creator Fees in 2022
As we reflect on a *wild* 2022, one stat in particular stands out: this year, creators earned over $1 BILLION from creator fees using OpenSea. These earnings do not include sponsorship revenue, engagement incentives, or grants. These earnings are generated directly by creator fees from the resale of their work, and instantly settled on-chain between buyer, seller and creator.
When the NFT standard was created in 2018, creator fees did not exist. OpenSea supported them early to invite more creators into the space. Even in a year characterized by tumultuous market conditions, this year’s data proves that creator fees are revolutionary – and that what we’re building more broadly in the NFT ecosystem is working:
In 2022, creators using OpenSea earned $1.1B from creator fees thus far
80% of this year’s earnings from creator fees went to collections outside of the Top 10*  (in terms of total 2022 creator fee earnings)
Tumblr media
For context, here’s how these numbers compare to creator earnings from several established web2 platforms that have helped lay the foundation for the creator economy:
In July of 2021, Meta said over $1 billion dollars would be paid out to creators on both Facebook and Instagram through the end of 2022.
In 2020, TikTok pledged that they would hit $1 billion in payouts to creators over the next three years.
Snapchat was paying out $1 million dollars a day to some of their top creators, achieving $365 million over one year.
Patreon has paid out a total of $3.5 billion dollars to creators (as of 2021) in its nine years in business.
Tumblr media
Our Vision for Creators in 2023 (and beyond)
The ‘creator economy’ as we know it is evolving. NFT technology is giving creators access to new, sustainable business models that can be layered on top of existing, web2 revenue streams. In this new ecosystem, creators have more ownership of their projects, more control of their long-term businesses, more direct connection and engagement with their fans, and a new, dynamic canvas to bring their most creative ideas to life.
At OpenSea, we’re on a mission to help the world’s creators, collectors, and collaborators own and shape their relationships directly, without gatekeepers. We’re committed to helping to protect creator fees and growing them into a more meaningful source of creator income – but also to expand the tools available to creators by making our Drops product widely available, expanding the ways they can engage with their community, and contributing to new standards that enable new revenue streams.
Drops on OpenSea
Through our new drops product (which will be made widely available very soon), we’re expanding the canvas for storytelling. We’re making drops pages more immersive and rich –  through sight, sound and motion – and building more ways for creators to engage their current community of fans, reach new audiences with more discoverability tools, and spotlight their teams.
As we continue to scale our drops product, we expect primary drops to become a more robust revenue stream for all creators — evolving into a more significant portion of total creator earnings in the coming years.
In the NFT ecosystem, every creator has the potential to create their own universe. As we enter the New Year, we’re excited to do more to empower creators – with new forms of creative expression, and perhaps most importantly, more effective and sustainable revenue streams.
Methodology
To pull this data, we analyzed sales between buyers and sellers that included a creator fee for the dates 01/01/2022 - 11/23/2022.
*Top 10 Collections as defined as the collections that earned the most on OpenSea from creator fees in 2022 thus far.
So what exactly is “Tokyo Taisen ~Hana to Sakura*~,” the new project announced at CRETA SUMMIT 2022 with Hiroi Ouji in attendance? Hopefully we’ll know soon. The fact that the developer seems to be involved with NFTs isn’t terribly exciting, but we’ll see.
*the “sakura” here is written in kanji (桜), as opposed to Sakura Taisen, where it’s usually written in katakana (サクラ)
Stencils #21 NFT
Live now! Launch: October 27, 2022 Oct. 27 9PM CET / 3PM EST   Link: https://faction.art/project/stencils
For more updates, please visit: https://twitter.com/DavidMrugala
What is Stencils?
Stencils is repetition and motion, its expression is the result of oscillation and layered rotation. Four layers of varying colors, each with the same grid of oscillated open cells, are rotated 90 degrees on top of each other. With each rotation the layers form symmetry that is heightened by one to four solid cells on each layer. An ellipse within the grid counteracts the symmetry. The layers overlap and the colors, cells and ellipse merge into an asymmetrical balance with an unexpected expression. It is a work of architectural tectonics. It embodies the science and art of digital modeling, both in relation to method and artistic expression. It refers not only to the activity of modeling the work, but rather to the activity that raises the modeling to an art form.
Stencils is a generative artwork with the option to receive a corresponding physical multi-layered artwork made with a laser cutter directly from the artist’s studio.
Fighting Against The Real Predator - Mr. Wolf and Diane Vs Kervin (GTA Online)
Tumblr media
Art created by @segamarkiii
Kervin (GTA Online) Belongs to me
You have no right to use this art and my OC without permission and you have no right to use it for NFTs
Note: Another reference from the Yakuza games called Yakuza 4 (I got the game but I still have not played it yet due to playing it chronologically)
After the nightclub explosion, Kervin (GTA Online) is still hunting down the notorious Mr. Wolf the leader of The Bad Guys. Suddenly, Diane Foxington AKA The Crimson Paw rescues Mr. Wolf in fighting against Kervin. The entrances and exits have been blocked by the area by fire debris and now it is just only three. It is time for the trio to give each other the greatest beating of their night.
Another GTA Online Vs The Bad Guys art that I requested by @segamarkiii. I really want to make a one-shot fic about this art. But I don't have enough time because of schoolwork. Anyway, enjoy this piece that the artist made!
Loonatics KR Update: New Characters
Kung Hei Fat Choi! Year of the Tiger has come and Happy Chinese New Year to all and my friends from Discord is still alive for Loonatics KR. Making the fic may take a long while to do but like I said before. In order to stay this project alive, I am going to post characters for Loonatics KR or in a spin-off of Loonatics KR. I am not telling which characters should appear so it won't ruin the story. So here are the characters for Loonatics KR.
However, if you plan to draw my character versions of Massive and Dr. Dare made by me. Please do not fanart, use, or draw my characters without my permission to me. I like to stay my characters safe, clean, and nothing weird or stupid. For the character, Rory ask @draze-a's permission.
2022: Loonatics KR updates and Loonatics R Comics
Hi guys this is @kervinredfire and I just want to say Happy New Year for a fresh start for 2022. I was pretty busy because of the parties I have been for Christmas and New Year and trying to catch up on the original Saints Row games before the release of the Saints Row reboot.
Anyway, let's start off with the updates of Loonatics KR. One year later and we have not published the KR cut and the continuation of Episode 2 yet. However, I may find ways to keep this project alive. I am going to post pictures of characters from Loonatics KR. Some are part of the episode in chapters and some are part of the future chapter or spinoff. Either way, showing the new character artworks from the other artist that I created with words and my group is one way to keep the project alive.
Also, It may be late but I recovered most of the pages from the Loonatics R comic. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift or another anniversary but anyway. You can read and save the images here. These are the only images that I recovered because purpleluckystar was not able to finish the comic. Meaning Tech is the only Loonatic not part of it. But one day after we made the written version of Loonatics KR. I may find a way to find more people who can continue this comic with the KR cut
