Finished watching My Country: The New Age yesterday, and I’m still thinking about Seon-Ho and Hwi.

“Your sword still feels affectionate.” SCREAMING. WHAT IS THIS? The way I gasped when he said it.

So I finally was brave enough to watch Start-up. After the absolute meltdown a few years ago over this show I was far too afraid to watch. Full transparency, I hate second lead syndrome, and love triangles. So I went into this drama knowing that the second-lead is better than the first, thats at least what everyone was saying. And I was gobsmacked when I actually hated him. Like I hated Han Ji Pyeong’s character. I was shocked, I liked the actor, but oh my god I thought his character was needlessly cruel.  And he’s bad at his job, he’s a bad mentor. I work as a trainer for companies, and when you are mentoring or training someone you are both open to your trainee’s concern, your direct in your advice, while also being kind. That’s how people will listen to you, you connect with them, and he doesn’t do that for anyone but Del-mi. He’s a bad mentor. I’m only on episode 14 so it can change in the next 2 episodes but I doubt it. But the most shocking for me was I really liked the male lead Do-San, like he was my favorite character. Like yes he is complicated, but in a very compelling way. Why was I convinced he was going to be the worst male lead ever, when he is genuinely one of the most interesting ones. Like all that noise over this? Like I’m so baffled. Del-mi goes from okay to infuriating. And the drama is at its best when the Sansam group is together and Ji Pyeong is far away off screen. I’m just so baffled, like, why was everyone so up in arms over this? 

Also this is my opinion, you can have your own and that’s okay!

Well,well,well,I know that I talked a lot about the scenes after their death, which actually reminds of their beautiful and happy memories, because the pain of that scene is more for me than any other scene, and every time it reminds me of how everything is falling apart and go to disaster. but among all those beautiful memories, this scene hurts my heart in a worst way and I love it more. just look at their happy laughs...no matter how close they got again and died even in each other's arms , they never laughed so freely after those twelve years like this scene.

after watching the entire series and after these few seconds, I can't think of anything other than injustice towards them in that short life.
