@wusopiejung25 : it's kinda poetic in a way, two people who care about him the most and who seonho most care about are the one who physically (and perhaps also emotionally) hurt him. okay, sung rok might not intentionally stab him but STILL, intentional or not, he almost died because of it. maybe it's something about the cycle of abuse where seonho never minds being hurt. he thought it was natural for people he loved to hurt him like it was not a problem at all. That's why he still feels conflicted even when his dad died. This might also be the reason why he always loved Hwi no matter what he did to him, that the only way to stop caring about him (and hurting himself from it) was to take his own life. Probably the same reason why he thought hurting hwi was the best way to keep him safe.

Oh my God, I'll never forget the feeling I had when I saw this smile, I didn't expect him to have an excuse to smile after all this pain.I had almost forgotten what a kind and gentle heart he has with all that trouble. Well, this smile is actually the most real smile he has seen after a long time. It's short and small, but it's so real, and the thing is, before this smile is because of Hwi it is for Sung-rok. He didn't really smile at anyone else after Yeon, and Sung-rak was the first. (Actually after Yeon's death)Seon-ho is great in this episode as he once again showed his authority and intelligence. I love the way they look at each other, Sung-rok looks at Seon-ho with a kind of admiration and Seon-ho looks at him with trust and perhaps gratitude. Of course, I would have liked Sung-rok to accept that drink (I know he's so strong and never give up but only Seon-ho could break his inner barrier) I don't know about the rest of the two years they lived with the Jurchens (between ep 14 and 15) but I think how different life was for Seon-ho in those two years. Maybe he didn't realize it (or maybe he did), but those two years he was respected and looked at as a human being. No one cared about his position and his father's name and they accepted him. Although we didn't see his mourning for the Jurchens who were killed, Seon-ho was their leader for two years and I'm sure it was very difficult for him. I'd have liked the series to have been a little longer and go into such details.

The symbolism and the parallel in this drama is something else. In both scenes, Seonho tried to push both their hands off him, in which when one is obey it, the other is reaching harder. The only correct attitude is the latter if you really want to help him :"

The first time I watch the first scene (with hwi) I feel like something was off but I can't put my finger on it. The lack of reaction on him feel so hollow. He looks numb. Like he's not sure what to do, what to think, what to feel. But after seeing it again, maybe that's exactly what Hwi feels at that moment. Maybe hurting Seonho directly by his own hands did that to him. He can't believe what he saw, he can't believe what he did, he almost looks like he was in a constant dazed state. Like woaaahhhh Yang sejong is one hell of an actor.

Also, first time watching that second scene (with sung rok) made me instantly realize that this drama is just so gay and so homoerotic. I don't know if that's a common thing in history but I think everyone maybe just a little bit too devoted to each other unconditionally to be interpreted as anything else but love (whether romantically or platonically). Also his trembling lips and intense stare while saying he'd never leave him? gay.

SEC Charges Investment Banker in Insider Trading Scheme

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged an employee of a prominent investment bank with repeatedly using his access to highly confidential information in order to place illicit and profitable trades in advance of deals on which the bank was providing investment banking advisory services.

According to the SEC’s complaint, Woojae “Steve” Jung, a Vice President of Investment Banking who worked in the bank’s San Francisco and New York offices, used sensitive client information in order to trade in the securities of 12 different companies prior to the announcement of market-moving events.  The SEC alleges that between 2015 and 2017, Jung used an account held in the name of a friend living in South Korea to place these illegal trades and generate profits of approximately $140,000.  As alleged in the complaint, by using his friend’s brokerage account, Jung attempted to evade detection by skirting his employer’s requirements that he pre-clear his trades and that he use an approved brokerage firm that would have reported the trading to his employer.

“Jung tried to insulate himself by allegedly placing trades in the brokerage account of a friend who lived overseas,” said Joseph G. Sansone, Chief of the SEC’s Market Abuse Unit.  “Like others before him, Jung’s alleged scheme failed when our data analysis uncovered the account’s suspicious trading pattern and, despite Jung’s attempts at evasion, traced the trading back to him.”   

The SEC’s complaint, filed in federal district court in Manhattan, charges Jung with fraud and seeks disgorgement of allegedly ill-gotten gains, pre-judgment interest, penalties, and injunctive relief.  The complaint also names Jung’s friend, Sungrok Hwang, as a relief defendant to have him disgorge illicit gains that Jung generated by trading in his brokerage account.  The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York today unsealed criminal charges against Jung.

The SEC’s investigation was conducted by Megan Bergstrom, David Brown, and Diana Tani of the Market Abuse Unit in the Los Angeles Regional Office with assistance from John Rymas of the unit’s Analysis and Detection Center.  Gary Leung will lead the SEC’s litigation.  The SEC appreciates the assistance of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

SEC Charges Investment Banker in Insider Trading Scheme

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged an employee of a prominent investment bank with repeatedly using his access to highly confidential information in order to place illicit and profitable trades in advance of deals on which the bank was providing investment banking advisory services.

According to the SEC’s complaint, Woojae “Steve” Jung, a Vice President of Investment Banking who worked in the bank’s San Francisco and New York offices, used sensitive client information in order to trade in the securities of 12 different companies prior to the announcement of market-moving events.  The SEC alleges that between 2015 and 2017, Jung used an account held in the name of a friend living in South Korea to place these illegal trades and generate profits of approximately $140,000.  As alleged in the complaint, by using his friend’s brokerage account, Jung attempted to evade detection by skirting his employer’s requirements that he pre-clear his trades and that he use an approved brokerage firm that would have reported the trading to his employer.

“Jung tried to insulate himself by allegedly placing trades in the brokerage account of a friend who lived overseas,” said Joseph G. Sansone, Chief of the SEC’s Market Abuse Unit.  “Like others before him, Jung’s alleged scheme failed when our data analysis uncovered the account’s suspicious trading pattern and, despite Jung’s attempts at evasion, traced the trading back to him.”   

The SEC’s complaint, filed in federal district court in Manhattan, charges Jung with fraud and seeks disgorgement of allegedly ill-gotten gains, pre-judgment interest, penalties, and injunctive relief.  The complaint also names Jung’s friend, Sungrok Hwang, as a relief defendant to have him disgorge illicit gains that Jung generated by trading in his brokerage account.  The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York today unsealed criminal charges against Jung.

The SEC’s investigation was conducted by Megan Bergstrom, David Brown, and Diana Tani of the Market Abuse Unit in the Los Angeles Regional Office with assistance from John Rymas of the unit’s Analysis and Detection Center.  Gary Leung will lead the SEC’s litigation.  The SEC appreciates the assistance of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
