#My mom said something to try to get my dad to stop but I wish I just didn't know. It really fucked with me

when i was a kid (10 or so) i was going grocery shopping with my family and freaked out and was refusing to go into the store. my dad reacted to this by trying to drag me out of the car and hit me in the parking lot. now that's not that bad (relatively speaking) but the part that really sticks with me is that some guy started recording it on his phone. i really hope he was just trying to collect evidence or something and didn't think me getting beaten was funny. honestly, probably says something about me that it took so long for me to even realize that he may have been recording for altruistic reasons and not because he was laughing at me.
#it just haunted me for a long time to think that he might have put it online to mock me#like id imagine people making fun of me saying what a spoiled horrible kid i was or whatever#in hindsight he was probably taking a video to call the cops and show them. But i wish i just hadn't been told about it#My mom said something to try to get my dad to stop but I wish I just didn't know. It really fucked with me#like when you're already being blamed for all your abuse it's very hard to not internalize that#and you just kind of assume that nobody is on your side bc obviously it's your fault for being a difficult child#and i WAS a difficult child lmao i had extreme mental problems and nobody knew how to handle them#but the fact remains that if you can't handle a child having sensory overload and meltdowns and panic attacks#you shouldn't have had children in the first place#i know this is therapy material and not Tumblr material but in my experience telling therapists about past abuse can be... a bad idea#Like for me it's bc i now get on okay with my parents. So they can assume I'm making it up or exaggerating and that hurts more than not#Saying anything at all. Bc they haven't been given the full picture. My last therapist was cool but this was when my dad was going to#Sessions with me and she had to be civil with him to get him to keep going. Which made me feel like she wasn't on my side and believed him#When he said it was my fault and he was having a reasonable reaction to stress or whatever.

Devils Touch | Dad!Lucifer x Kid!Reader |
Summary: Being forced to take pills alongside your mother just seems enough to end in hell...
Warnings: Suicide mentions | Death | Canon Violence| Cursing | Lucifer its a softie | SFW | Reader its between 5-7 | Reader takes the form of a sheep/cat mix | Reader's mom sucks tbh | Maybe platonic!yandere Luci? |
When you opened your eyes everytning was red. Screams and insults filled the air, the smell of blood and other things you could not understand filled your nose making you gag.
"Mom?" You asked to no one, no one took note of you. All you could see were strange creatures, some more human and some more animal.
Tears went down your face, you could remember being forced to take some pills. Your mother crying while she did the same.
Something was wrong, really wrong.
"And what do we have here?" A stranger voice said taking you by the collar, you ended up meeting with sharp red eyes, and that look....it did not mean well.
"L-let me go" you screamed trying to get free from this thing. Reacting out you saw your hands were now black with claws, making your mind quick you attacked that thing.
It let you go with a small "fuck". You took of running, not knowing where to go, but you could hear that thing behind you chasing you.
Taking a quick look behind you ended against something. Looking up someone wearing a white suit with a cane and a hat that had a snake looked to you.
"P-please help me" you tried again "I dont know whats happening I want my mom"
The stranger took you by your arms to inspect you.
Lucifer stood there with no emotion seeing the "x" on your neck. Suicide? He thought seeing the mark. But you were just a kid, with fluffy cat hears and a tail, however your hair was not the one from a cat but the one from a sheep...or a lamb. Two little horns did also appear on top of your head.
He cursed inside his mind. Maybe you were killed, or forced to something. You were too small, your soul did not let out any type of malice besides the "sin" of taking your own life.
He soon saw a Demon coming towards him, most likely looking for you, and with no debout their intentions were not good.
Just one flick of his hand the Demon was gone. You were shaking looking at him and then around you.
Fuck, he wished Charlie was here, he knew she would be able to calm you down.
Taking care of sinners was not his job. His job was to rule hell, but he could not just leave you in here. He was sure you would be dead again in seconds.
Or worse.
"Calm down Kid, im going to take care of you" his voice was as soft as he could. Turning around opening a gold portal to his home "whats your name?"
He nodded once he hear your name, carefully petting your head. He passed by many old photos of his family. A maid appear besides him looking at the sinner in his arms.
"Please, prepare a bath and get some clothes " Lucifer requested passing you to her.
Or well, trying to.
"N-no, I dont want to go with her!" Your hands took an iron grip on his suit.
Lucifer almost panicked at your state but tried to remember what he used to do when Charlie was this young.
"Listen, she is someone good. You will be taken care off. We can have lunch later, and some sweets"
"...chocolate?" You asked with pleading eyes
~☆~☆~☆~
After your bath and food you were in a better mood. Lucifer used this time to show you around the house while asking you different questions to try and know why you had ended in here.
He showed you his ducks collection and almost passed out by how much you loved them. You ignored him as you played with the duck, almost burning the wall with one of them.
Lucifer decided to tired you up and then look up for your mothers soul. If you two died together...then the chances of her being down here were high.
~☆~☆~☆
It was harder than he expected. The sugar from the chocolate gave you so much energy you ended checking every room of the house. Lucifer behind you trying to stop you from getting hurt or from breaking something.
"Catch me if you can!" You joked while he tried to balance two statues.
With a swing of his wings he was able to catch you, rolling down the stairs and laughtning with you. You seemed....happy almost forgetting your situation. To you this could be nothing but a bizarre dream.
~☆~☆~
Once you were tired enough, Lucifer took you to one room. His heart made a flip when you took his arm pulling him close.
But he needed to go and see where your mother's soul was. So he made the maid stay outside your room just in case you woke up.
~☆~☆~
"That fucking bastard, son of a bitch, cursed slut" Lucifer screamed almost burning his office. Turns out, your mother was not in hell or heaven, she was alive, whatever she was triying to do failed for her.
He wanted to go there and kill her himself. Not only her but heaven as well, you were just a kid. Sure, you had cursed, and lied sometimes, he had read your record of sins. But that was not enough to make you end down here.
He knew your faith was sealed. Heaven would never admit they made a mistake or listen to him for starters. He had to calm down and think.
And after some minutes he decided the safest option would be for you to stay with him. He was not sure how he would explain to you who he was or what had happened. But he knew a few things, besides him no one would try to hurt you, and also you made him feel happy again. He could raise you, be a better father, be someone you could relay on.
"Its decided" he said to himself, picking up a pen and a paper, he wrote down your name and his last name. This way the other sins and overlords would know not to mess with you.
"Dont worry (y/n) im going to protect you.

See Me Through You Series
I don't care right now (I don't give a fuck)
Pull your hair right now (come here)
Tryna beat it right now (she like)
But you know I got a man
Synopsis: Joe has no more fucks to give and is tired of him not having the title of being your boyfriend
Warnings: mentions of dv
Do not engage if you are underage
Please Do Not Repost My Content Anywhere
After Joe had told you that he knew that you loved him instead of Trevor, you stood there speechless.
One thing you weren't about to do was tell him that he was wrong.
His eyes never left yours as he waited for you to say something. When you didn't, he knew that it had to be up to him to at least try to pull a response out of you.
“Look, Y/N, if you go back to him, fine. I can't stop you, but I do need to tell you one thing.” He told you as he grabbed your left hand to hold it while the other one was holding onto the bouquet of flowers that he had gifted you.
“What's that?” You asked him not knowing that you had absentmindedly squeezed his hand tighter.
“You’re making a mistake and hopefully you realize that before you get hurt again because I know that at this point, it's bound to happen.” Joe said as he was not holding back how he felt about the entire situation.
Now the question was why did Trevor have such a strong hold on you?
“Joey, I promise that you don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine.” You said while trying to reassure him, but knew for a fact that more than likely it was not working in your favor.
“And who are you trying to convince? Me or yourself? Do you also not realize how much your brother worries about you too? From what I've seen and heard about him, he is not a good person. Especially not to you. Did you forget him leaving actual marks on your wrist while we were at that party and you were trying to get away from him? What do you think would have happened if I wasn’t there to get you away from him?”
“I wish that people would just stop acting like they know what's best for me.” You breathed out, frustrated about being hit from all different angles.
Joe, Ja'Marr, Erin, and Alisha.
Even your parents thought that you had broken up with him a while ago because that's what Ja'Marr told them when he knew that Joe had eyes for you.
“Bam Bam! Why did dad just say he was relieved that I finally broke up with Trevor!? And that you had told them?! Didn’t realize my life was a soap opera to you!”
“I just uh predicted the future. Now you're not going to make me look like a liar to mom and dad, right?”
“I should beat your ass right now.”
“I mean…. You have someone who likes you that I know will treat you right. He's literally just waiting for Trevor to get out of his rightful spot.”
“JA'MARR! Who are you talking about!?”
“Pebbles, don't be dumb. I'm talking about Joe, obviously. I see the type of person he is and that's someone I want for my sister.”
The relief that was evident on their faces let you know that he was not ever going to have approval from anyone that was a part of your life.
As soon as those words left your mouth, Joe wasted no time responding to you.
“Oh so you think this is what a healthy relationship between two people looks like? And someone obviously needs to because you definitely can't do it yourself.”
“Just like you said before, if I go back to him, it really isn't any of your business or anyone else's for that matter. Let's keep it that way because I am done with this conversation.”
“If that's what you want then okay. I won't say anything else about it. And to add to that I'll keep my distance because you're right. You shouldn't be spending more time with another man that isn't your boyfriend and I guess he probably feels like I stepped on his toes enough. But he won't have to worry about that anymore.” He told you as he sighed and held up his hands in defense, losing the warmth that he had been getting from holding your hand.
“Wait…” You started to say, but Joe shook his head at you.
“No, this is what you wanted so this is how it's going to be from now on.”
“Joey, I didn't mean…”
“Didn't mean what? You love me but your ass is crawling back to him as he begs for forgiveness as usual after doing the bare minimum? Actually, he doesn't even do that. I'm not about to compete with anyone who I feel isn't even on my level to compete with me in the first place. I'll see you at the game if you're coming later. Probably not the best idea to wear my jersey since we can't have Trevor seeing it.”
Now it was apparent that Joe was more than pissed off with you.
“Seriously?”
“Seriously. I need to head back to my apartment to start to get ready anyway. But for the record….” He trailed off and you tried to grab his hand, but he immediately moved away.
“For the record what?”
“I love you too. So do what you will with that information.”
That's the last thing Joe told you before he turned away from you before he walked back to meet up with Justin and Ja'Marr.
Later that day in the afternoon, you were sitting next to Alisha and Erin in the student section of the stadium waiting for the game to start. After the conversation between the two of you earlier in the day, you honestly didn’t feel like going, but decided to anyway.
Even though Joe was mad at you, you had already promised him last week that you would wear his jersey to the game and didn't care who saw it at this point.
You were going to support your friend.
Your friend that you were in love with and he was in love with you however that was a whole nother discussion.
“You look good in your future husband's jersey.” Erin teased while Alisha laughed before taking a bite of her hot dog.
“He’s a little mad at me right now so hopefully seeing me in it will make it a little bit better.” You said as you turned to look at her.
“Well he can't be but so mad at you since he is literally making his way over here.” Alisha told you as you turned around to see that she was indeed correct.
The three of you were on the first row in the middle so that you would have the best view. In order to get these seats, all three of you made sure to get to the stadium early. When Joe finally reached you, he had an expression on his face that you couldn't quite read and you were the first one to speak.
“Surprised to see me?” You asked and he nodded.
“A little bit, but I know you. A promise is a promise and you said that you would be here. You aren't one to back out of something so easily.”
“Hmm, true. Are you still mad at me?” You quietly asked and Joe simply shrugged.
“Seeing you in my jersey is making me less mad if that helps. If you were my girlfriend, after tonight when I won I would be able to take it off of you. But I know my opportunity is coming.”
“I…” You started to say as you felt your cheeks heating up.
“Oh, that’s right. We established boundaries today and I promised that I would back off. It's kind of hard, but I just have to deal with it.”
“Joey….”
“Bold move though wearing it considering anybody could see it, including him. We both know that he already doesn’t like me. Think he'd be mad if I kissed you right now? In front of all these people? Letting the entire world know that you belong to me and only me even if you aren't ready to admit it yet.” Joe whispered as he leaned closer to you. Joe had spotted Trevor in the stands a few rows up and sent a small smile his way which led to Trevor glaring at him. You still had yet to notice that he was there which Joe was going to take advantage of.
When you were quiet, Joe laughed as he broke the silence.
“Let’s find out.”
He lightly grabbed your face and moved you closer to him so he could place a kiss on your cheek that was dangerously close to your mouth.
If you would have moved less than one centimeter, he would have planted that kiss on your lips.
“We'll talk later.” He told you while pinching your cheek and you simply nodded. This was the second time today that he had left you speechless.
“Have a good game, Joey.”
“It already is a good game, because you're here.” He replied as he winked at you.
He made his way back over to the sideline while Erin and Alisha were grinning from ear to ear as you turned around to look at both of them.
“I seriously wish yall would just fuck already. It would literally solve so many problems. He would take you on the fifty yard line if he could.”
“ERIN!”
“I’m just saying. I am literally waiting for the wedding invite. I wonder if you two will get married here or have a destination wedding? I can start looking up places.”
“What am I going to do with you?” You asked her, but also couldn’t help but to laugh at the same time.
What you didn't see was Trevor fuming behind you. He had seen the entire interaction and planned to confront you about it later. He knew that you and Joe were obviously close and were friends, but that interaction that he just saw was too intimate for his liking.
He hadn't cared for Joe ever since the party where he had stepped in between the both of you. In the back of his mind, he knew Joe liked you, it was obvious. But one thing that he had to do was set him straight and let him know that you were his and planned on reminding you about it later.
Little did he know, it was too little too late.
You were too far gone at this point, and the only person that held your attention was Joseph Lee Burrow.
Later on that night after he had gotten back to his apartment from LSU winning their game, Joe had grabbed food and was sitting down eating it while his phone vibrated on the table in front of him indicating that it was his mom and he quickly answered.
He simply wanted to be by himself and didn't bother celebrating with any of his teammates because once again, his mind was on you.
It was a continuous cycle, you, football, and focusing on his classes.
It took everything in him not to text you to tell you to come over at this very moment. He was supposed to be mad at you, but being around you was something that kept him grounded. Seeing you wear his jersey tonight made it hard for him to continue to be mad at you.
“Hello?”
“I watched the game and you played amazing as usual. I'm sorry that I couldn't make it to this one, but I will definitely be there next week.”
“It's fine, don't even worry about it and thank you.” He quietly said and she knew for a fact that something was wrong.
“What's going on? You sound upset.” Robin asked him and he sighed before he answered her.
“I like this girl…”
“Oh Y/N? Yes I know. Pretty obvious. You literally talk about her non-stop every week that me and your dad call you. Can't wait to meet her, but go on.”
“Well she knows that I like her, well I actually told her that I loved her earlier today and also told her that I knew she loved me. We've gotten really close ever since I came down here and met her. If I'm not playing football or in class, I am literally spending all of my time with her.”
“Well, what's the problem?”
“She has a boyfriend and I might just have to settle for being her friend because instead of breaking up with him and being with me, she told me that she is giving him another chance even after he's hurt her multiple times.”
“I know that can be hard to watch, but as bad as it sounds, you need to let her make her own mistakes. If that's her decision, you need to respect it.”
“And that's what I told her and also said from now on I’ll be keeping my distance from her.”
“If you feel that's your best option, then stand by your decision.”
“I just…. All I've seen is her getting hurt by him and she steadily defends him each time.”
“I… if you are her friend and you are as close as you claim you two are, just be there for her and help her get through whatever may happen. If the two of you are meant to be together, you'll be together.”
It was 2 in the morning when Joe heard someone knocking on his apartment door and was instantly confused. Hopping up from the couch that he had fallen asleep on with open books scattered around him, he opened the door to see you staring at him in a frantic state.
“Y/N, is everything okay? What's wrong?” He asked as he stepped to the side to be able to let you in and led you to sit down on the couch.
“My brother isn't here, is he?” You asked not bothering to answer his question and looking around since sometimes Ja'Marr would crash at Joe's place if he was too tired to go back to his own.
“No, but do I need to call him?” He asked and you immediately shook your head no.
“No! Please don't. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell, just don’t tell him.” You didn't mean to raise your voice and it came out harsher than you intended.
“Then are you going to tell me what happened? Wait, why is there a cut near your eye? And it's bleeding.” He asked and got up to wet a washcloth and dabbed at your face with it.
It was at that moment that you had looked down and started playing with your matching bracelet that you and Ja'Marr had gotten each other on your eighteenth birthdays and under no circumstances would you make eye contact with him.
That's when the thought hit Joe like a ton of bricks.
“Did that asshole put his hands on you?”
“No.”
“Y/N, if you lie to me I'm calling Ja'Marr.”
“Okay, okay. He tried to. We were arguing and he threw a vase at me that shattered against the wall and some glass from it must have cut me. And then he pushed me into a corner and acted as if he was going to punch me, but punched a hole in the wall instead. Right next to my head. He apologized, but I waited until he fell asleep and then I came here. I was so scared.” You quietly said as tears were starting to run down your cheeks and Joe quickly wiped them away.
It happened again, just like he said it would.
And this time, it ended up being a lot worse.
Joe was sitting there with his jaw clenched and once you looked up at him, you knew that you had to stop him before he did something stupid.
He abruptly got up and was looking for his keys when you instantly ran to stand in front of the door to block him.
“Move, Y/N.”
“Joey, no. You are not going anywhere. Let it go.”
“He fucking hurt you. I should go over there and kick his ass myself.”
“I cannot risk you getting in trouble and therefore getting kicked off the team, he isn't worth it. I'll be fine. Do not mess up your future over me.” You told him as you took his hands in yours.
“But YOU are worth it. Who the fuck in their right mind would do something like that to you? I knew I didn't like him when I met him and your brother was right about him.”
“Joey, promise me. Please don't. I'll deal with it in my own way.”
“There is no way in hell you are going near him ever again. Ja'Marr would be mad as hell at me if he knew that I knew that he hurt you and didn't do anything about it.”
“And that's why you aren't going to tell him.”
“Wait, what? Y/N… you cannot be serious.”
“I… it's the same thing with him too. You can both get arrested for assault and it'll lead to so much more, just please.”
Joe let out a deep sigh before nodding, letting you know that he would honor your wishes.
The two of you were still standing in front of the door and the two of you hadn't taken your eyes off one another when you suddenly reached up and kissed him, catching him off guard, but he immediately kissed you back.
When the two of you broke apart, the reality of what you had just done hit you like a ton of bricks.
You had just cheated on your boyfriend with Joe.
And you didn’t have an ounce of regret in your body.
“I'm sorry, I…” You started to say as you stepped away from him and Joe cut you off as he lightly brought you back towards him.
“I'm not. Break up with him and be with me instead. So I can show you how you're supposed to be treated. I promise you that you won't regret it.”
You didn't respond, but Joe immediately brought your face to his and kissed you once more. Both of your hands were exploring each other's bodies but as soon as you tried to lift Joe's shirt, he abruptly stopped and he kissed the side of your mouth like he had done earlier at the game before saying anything.
“Not yet. You've been through a lot tonight and the last thing I want is for you to feel like I'm taking advantage of you in a vulnerable state and you regret it tomorrow.”
“But I'm…”
“I just want you to rest for the rest of the night. We have plenty of time for that. I'll grab you some clothes to sleep in.”
Nodding your head he kissed you again before taking your hand in his and led you towards his bedroom that you had grown familiar with all throughout the semester. Any time you came over, it would lead to you stealing one of his shirts or one of his hoodies. He was convinced when the semester was over that all he was going to have left at this rate were his boxers. Once there, he let go of your hand and went into his dresser to pull out one of his old Ohio State shirts and handed it to you.
“It'll probably be huge on you, but you'll be comfortable.”
You smiled at him before heading to the bathroom to change out of your clothes. Once you closed the door behind you, you glanced in the mirror and didn't recognize the girl staring back at you.
You promised yourself that if it happened again, you would leave him, but here you were. You had someone right in front of you that wanted to give you the world so what were you so scared of?
You were tired of running around in circles and tired of making excuses.
First thing you were doing later on that day was breaking up with Trevor.
Once you had gotten changed, you walked back out into Joe's bedroom to see he was now in just a pair of sweatpants and looked like he was headed towards the door, but was quickly stopped in his tracks as he heard your soft voice behind him making him turn around.
“Where are you going?” You quietly asked since you were confused.
“To sleep on the couch while you sleep in my bed. Just wanted to make sure you’re okay first.”
“Joey, no. I'm not kicking you out of your bed and besides, I don’t want to be by myself right now.” You confessed as you grabbed his hand.
He nodded as the two of you both got settled, Joe was closest to the door while you were closest to the window. After making sure you were comfortable, he reached over to turn off the lamp that was on the bedside table. That was when he heard your voice once more.
“Joey?”
“Hmm?”
“Thank you for always being there for me. Even when I might not deserve it.”
At this point in time, you were honestly surprised that he even answered the door and let you in, but knowing the type of person he is, he wouldn’t have reacted any differently.
“I'll be here as long as you want me to be and you deserve the world. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”
—
You didn’t know how long you were laying there, but sleep was the last thing taking over your body. Noticing that Joe's breathing also hadn't slowed, you turned around to face him and at the same time you heard his voice.
“Princess? You still awake? You need to go to sleep.”
“I can't sleep. I'm still so scared, I know he's going to look for me sooner or later.”
“You’re safe here and no one is going to touch a hair on your head. I can promise you that.” He told you as he stroked your face and placed a light kiss on your forehead as he was able to make out your features in the dark by the moonlight peeking in through the curtains.
“Come here.”
Joe then wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer to him as he then leaned down to place a soft kiss on your lips which you quickly returned.
All of this led up to a heated make out session with Joe now hovering over top of you as his hands reached underneath his shirt that you were wearing. His fingers lightly grazed your nipples and he then began to roll them between his fingers as he noticed that your bra that you had been wearing had been long forgotten which he was thankful for.
Before he lifted his shirt over your head, he asked for permission to make sure you were absolutely sure about wanting to do this. Joe had wanted you from day one, but if you weren’t ready to do this he was willing to wait until you were.
“Are you…?”
“Yes. I was sure earlier tonight and I'm sure now. I know the last thing I'm ever going to regret is being with you.”
Once he peeled the shirt away from your body, he now had full access to you. The plan was to take his time so he could give you the undivided attention that you deserved since he knew for a fact that Trevor wasn't giving it to you without even having to ask you about it.
His mouth found its way to one of your nipples and he began to lightly suck on it while continuing to roll the other one in between his fingers before switching making a moan escape your mouth.
“Mmm, fuck.”
“I'm going to make you feel so good, princess.” He whispered against your lips before kissing them.
The increase in wetness between your thighs was evident as you Iet out soft quiet moans from the sensation of having him explore your body with his mouth.
As he moved further south, Joe's fingers ran along your folds as he saw how wet you actually were.
“This all for me? I've barely even done anything and your body is responding like this?” He asked you as he placed one kiss on each inner thigh.
As you nodded, he inserted one finger and soon worked himself up to two before settling in between your thighs and beginning to pleasure you with his tongue.
After a few minutes, he noticed you starting to squirm and firmly wrapped his arms around your legs in the hopes of limiting your movement.
“Stay still for me princess.” Was all you heard as your hands found a way to his hair and was softly tugging on it, hoping to bring him in closer.
With the use of his tongue along with his fingers, a new sensation unknown to you was building in the lower half of your body and at the same time, Joe began to suck on your clit.
“Oh, shit….”
Joe felt your hands trying to push him away from you, but all he did was tighten his hold on your legs making sure you had no way to get away from him.
“You gonna cum for me, baby? You won't be able to if you keep moving away from me.” Joe asked you as he had come up for air, but immediately went back down.
“Yes.” Was all you said as he began to suck harder.
It took no time at all for you to feel like you were seeing stars as Joe continued to pleasure you.
It was official.
Joe had given you your first orgasm.
He gave you a few minutes to recover as he was placing kisses up and down your thighs before sliding off his sweatpants along with his boxers as he opened the bedside table to pull out a condom. It was still obviously dark in the room, but you could literally see because of the light coming through the windows past the curtains, how big he was and you suddenly became nervous.
You thought to yourself that there was no way in hell that he was about to fit.
Joe could sense this as he was putting the condom on and quickly tried to reassure you.
“No reason to be nervous, baby. It's going to fit. Most important thing is that you have to relax for me.” He told you while leaning down to lightly stroke your face.
“Okay.” You quietly said in response, but you still weren’t convinced. But at the same time, you knew that Joe had no reason to lie to you.
Once he positioned himself in front of you, he reached down to kiss you and once he pulled away from you is when you heard his voice once more.
“You ready, princess?”
You nodded, but that obviously wasn’t enough for him.
“I need words, you need to say it. I’m not doing anything unless you do.”
“I’m ready.”
Once he finally heard it, you felt Joe slowly entering you and you tightly closed your eyes. As you did this, Joe immediately felt your body tense up.
It would have probably been a good idea to tell him that you had never had sex before before all of this began happening, but knew that he would be as gentle as possible with you regardless.
That's just the type of person he was when it came to you.
“Princess, you have to relax. It's me and the last thing that I am ever going to do is hurt you. When I told you that I loved you, I meant it. Every word.” He quietly said as he leaned down to kiss you.
You nodded and several more kisses were placed on your lips when you felt him easing the rest of the way into you at the same time making you gasp as your arms wrapped around his neck.
“You're okay, I got you baby.” Joe told you as he gave you time to adjust to his size before he made any sudden movement.
Kisses were planted along your neck and shoulder as you were adjusting to a new feeling that you had never experienced before. It wasn’t quite to the point of pleasure, however you weren’t necessarily in pain either.
It felt weird.
About a minute or so had passed when you slowly felt him begin to move and you wrapped your arms around him tighter.
Now all you felt was pleasure as moans escaped from your mouth when Joe began to increase his pace.
In order to go deeper and at a better angle, Joe held onto your hips before deciding to wrap your left leg around his waist.
“If you want this as bad as you say you do, keep those legs spread. Fuck you feel so good around me, just like I knew you would.”
Since your arms were already tightly wrapped around him, his face was in the crook of your neck as he had now leaned forward.
Making that sudden change in position, he was now hitting the same spot over and over again and you just knew that it was about to send you over the edge sooner or later.
You were thinking that it would probably be sooner.
“Fuck, Joey stay right there.” You breathed out as he lifted his head to steal a quick kiss from you.
Doing what you had asked him to, his movements increased in pace while also becoming sloppy at the same time making you think that he was just as close as you were.
“Joey, I…” You trailed off as a weird sensation was building in your stomach once more and you knew it was happening again.
The second orgasm hit you like a ton of bricks and you felt like you had gotten the wind knocked out of you.
As Joe heard your soft whimpers, he placed kisses all along your shoulder blade as you rode out your high.
He placed another kiss on your forehead before he slowly slipped out of you making you wince and went to throw away the condom.
Once he had come back, he had a washcloth with warm water in his right hand as he started to gently glide it onto your body in order to wipe you off.
When he was finished, he threw it into the hamper and laid back down beside you, ultimately pulling you on top of him. Your eyes began to become heavy between Joe rubbing small circles along your back and listening to Joe's heartbeat.
Your eyes fluttered open from hearing the television on a low volume and you could only assume that Joe was already awake. Once he noticed that you began to stir, he peeked down at you seeing as you were still laying on his chest.
“Good morning, princess.” He softly said before placing a kiss on your forehead.
“Good morning. What time is it?”
“It’s almost nine and I was about to wake you up since I know that you have class at ten and it takes you five to seven business days to get ready.”
“Really, Joey?” You replied as you rolled your eyes.
“I call it like I see it. I always tell you what time I’m going to come and get you, however, I’ll be downstairs waiting in the car while you only still have one of your lashes on.”
“You get on my last nerve.”
“But did I lie?”
When Joe was met with silence and another eye roll from you, all he did was laugh.
“I guess I have to go and get ready then.” You told him as you sighed, not wanting to leave his embrace.
“We can do dinner later and have a study date…. With or without clothes.”
“JOSEPH!”
“What? What’d I say that was wrong? I was just giving you options!” He exclaimed as he then held up his hands in defense.
“I’m ignoring you. What time are we doing our dinner and study date?”
“As soon as you get out of class, just come back here.”
“I’m honestly a little nervous to go back to my apartment.” You said being completely honest.
“Just get some of your things and you can stay with me, you know that I don’t care and the most important thing is that you’re safe. I have to go to class too, but I can call Ja’Marr…”
“NO! Baby brother asks too many questions. I’ll be fine. The security guy who works there is super nice and I know if I tell him I don’t feel all that safe he’ll walk me to my apartment door.”
“As long as you’re sure. But call me if there’s a problem, understand?”
“Understood, Mr. Burrow.”
—-
Joe was still running off of the high from this morning as he had woken up to the sight of you beside him. He was walking to his last class of the day on campus when he did a double take as he spotted you in front of one of the many libraries that he knew was near a few of your classes. But who he saw you with was why he instantly became upset.
You were talking to Trevor, who of course he despised and for good reason.
He couldn't tell what the nature of the conversation was by your body language and it almost looked as if Trevor was barely paying any attention to what you were saying which wasn’t unusual.
So, did last night mean nothing to you?
Joe was watching you for a few more minutes until he looked down at his watch and noticed that if he didn't leave now that he would end up being late to class.
At this point, he was done trying.
If that's who you wanted, then fine.
And he made it up in his mind that he was done.
Completely.
Throughout the day, you were calling him and sending him text messages, that ultimately went unanswered making you nervous.
You deserved to get an explanation on why he was suddenly acting this way towards you and immediately hopped into your car after packing your bags that you were going to take in order to stay with him and quickly drove to his apartment.
The banging on Joe's door instantly annoyed him seeing as he just sat down to watch one of the many NBA games that we’re coming on that night. He glanced at the clock to see that it was barely 6 pm and had a feeling that it was you.
A deep sigh escaped his mouth before he got up to answer it. Once he did, he was met with you just as he suspected and you had a pissed off look on your face and Joe raised his eyebrows at you in confusion.
“Yes? Did you need something?”
“So, you can have sex with me, but then suddenly ignore me? I may be little, but I will kick your 6’4 ass and throw a dumbbell at your head.” You asked him and pushed your way past him into the apartment.
“It's not even like that so stop jumping to conclusions.” Joe replied as he closed the door behind you.
“Then tell me so I can understand, Joey! Because you have me confused. You claim to want me so bad and then end up ignoring me all day!? When I called you multiple times? Who does that?”
“Because I saw you with him! Why the fuck are you even talking to him? Hasn’t he hurt you enough?”
“Now look who's jumping to conclusions.” You said as you crossed your arms.
“Then why else would you be with him? You did tell me recently that you were going to give him another chance. Recently as in yesterday before we had sex so I simply thought she claims she loves me, yet she's still going back to him.”
You pinched the bridge of your nose before you said anything else to him.
“You are literally so annoying. I went to talk to him to break up with him! Last time I checked you did confess that you loved me or did I not get that right?”
“Oh.” Joe quietly said and you couldn't help but to roll your eyes.
You started to make your way back towards the door in order to leave when you felt Joe suddenly pull you back as he wrapped his arms around you.
“Let me go. I'm mad at you.” You said as you were trying to wiggle out of his grip.
“I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed anything.” He replied as he turned you around to face him and leaned down to kiss you.
“No, don't kiss me. Turn me loose. Leave me alone. All you literally had to do was just ask me.”
“I know, but seeing you with him just pissed me off and so I walked away. I promise it won’t happen again. You forgive me? I’m not letting you go until you say you do.” Joe asked you as he squeezed you tighter and leaned down to kiss your forehead.
“I guess.” You muttered as he led the both of you over to the couch as Joe sat down first and then pulled you onto his lap.
“So, is it official now?” You asked him as he had been focused on the game that was playing on the television.
“Is what official?”
“Me being LSU's star quarterback Joe Burrow's girlfriend.” You teased as you kissed the tip of his nose.
“You've been mine for a while. That ex-boyfriend of yours was just keeping my spot warm. I bet he never made you feel as good as I did last night.” Joe told you as he was wiggling his eyebrows as you both then let out a laugh.
“No, because I never had sex with Trevor.”
Joe immediately stopped laughing and looked at you with wide eyes.
“Wait, huh?”
“I never did because I told him that I wanted to wait. That was one of the only things he actually did respect, but I know for a fact that he's probably cheated on me multiple times because of it, but I just ignored it.” You replied while being completely honest.
“Uh, princess? Don't you think you should have told me that? Fuck did I…? Shit. I would have made it a lot more special if I would have known. I would have had candles and…”
“Stop it. It was perfect. Everything was perfect.” You cut him off as you kissed him and tried to reassure him.
“I waited for the right person who I knew for a fact was going to treat me right.”

Flight Frights (Request)
Katsuki Bakugou x Fem!Reader
Details/Warnings: katsuki gets a little emotional in this one, slight talks of death but nothing crazy
Word Count: 1.7k
hello thank you for this request :)) it was enough for me to work with so dont worry! i hope you like it 🩷
"You sure you got everything?" Your boyfriend asked for the millionth time.
You rolled your eyes. "Yes, I have everything. You can even double check my bags!" You insisted.
He squinted and began looking through each of your bags silently. After a few minutes you looked at him smugly, "Are you going to tell me how perfect I am and that I didn't forget a single thing?"
Katsuki smirked, "Nah, I was gonna say you forgot your brain somewhere." He teased and gripped the top of your head lightly.
You smacked his hand away, "You're not funny, Katsuki." You laugh, despite your words.
"Yes I am and you know it."
The two of you continued to spend time together until it was time for you to go to the airport. You were visiting your parents in the states, so Katsuki was going to drive you to the airport and send you off.
When the time to go to the airport came, he drove you there and waited with you until you boarded the plane, which you felt bad about but appreciated a lot.
Some time later, a boarding announcement for your flight rang out loud through the speakers and you frowned at Katsuki.
"I'm gonna miss you." You said and hugged him tightly.
He hugged you back, "Yeah, I know."
"Stop it! Be serious."
He laughed and apologized, "I'll miss you too. Be safe on the plane and everywhere else, and don't talk to any fucking weirdos okay?"
You nodded and gave him a kiss, saying goodbye.
...
The time spent at your parents went well and you called and texted Katsuki as much as you could but it was hard, considering the time difference.
But like always, you managed to make it work.
As your trip neared it's end, your mother asked you if you were going to take the later flight like you planned.
"Jeez Mom. You trying to get rid of me already?" You teased her, making her pout at you.
"Oh stop it. You know that's not what I mean."
You smiled and said, "I know, it's just fun to mess with you," with a laugh, "but nah, I think I'm gonna take the earlier flight actually. I wanna surprise Katsuki, even if it's just a few hours earlier."
Your mom smiled at you, "That's sweet of you. I wish he could've come along with you..." She trailed off, making you a little jealous that your mom was wishing someone else came along too.
You crossed your arms, "Yeah well, he's busy with hero work, so he couldn't." You excused, "And besides, you should be glad it's just me! I missed you and Dad."
She smiled and patted your head. "Well of course I'm glad you're here! But I know you two must miss each other a lot. I know what it's like to be in love." She winked, and coincidentally your father walked in at the same time.
You both greeted him and continued talking about mundane things. You only had two days left with your parents, so you wanted to make them count more than the previous ones.
...
Fast forward to the day of your flight. Your parents took you to the earliest one at 5:00 am and said good bye to you, but not without some tears.
After sending you off with a lot of love, you were now on your way back home. You felt weird not texting your boyfriend about what you were doing, but you were still excited to surprise him. You wondered how he'd react.
You were a little nervous about how he'd react to you not answering his messages, since you wouldn't be able to text him regularly during the whole flight. Maybe he'd think you were sleeping in, since it was a likely scenario.
Ignoring your thoughts, you looked out the window at the raining sky and decided to fall asleep, hoping it would make the trip go by faster and thankfully it did.
...
Back in Japan 5 hours later
Katsuki had been on his phone mindlessly scrolling through his feed when suddenly a video caught his attention. It was a recent news post about a plane crash coming back to Japan from America.
"The flight had taken off at 10:00 am, and an hour into the flight the plane experienced a high amount of turbulence due to the unexpected weather conditions. Suddenly, the plane went crashing down-"
The news now had all of Katsuki's attention. He felt his heart racing in his chest and the world went silent, only the sound of his beating heart now filling his ears.
The plane that had crashed, was the flight you were on.
He felt as if time was slowing down as he watched the news. The news reporters had been describing just how bad the accident was, and he felt like he couldn't breathe.
There was no way you were hurt or even dead, right? You had to come back home to him. He had so many plans for your future. There's no way he'd be able to live life knowing he'd never get to act on them.
He grabbed his phone and clicked on your contact to call you but it went straight to voicemail. It was just because you had it on airplane mode right? They always make people turn that shit on.
He called again and again until he thought he was going to go crazy at the sound of the automated system's voice. He threw his phone across the bedroom and rubbed his hands through his sweaty hair.
After taking a few deep breaths, he got up and walked over to where his phone was and picked it up. Turning it over, he sighed at the large crack on the screen.
"Fuck..." He mumbled. Whatever. His phone didn't matter right now. What mattered was you and your safety. That damn phone was replaceable, but you weren't.
He continued to use his phone to call your mom, who was confused at his phone call.
"Hello Katsuki!" Your mother said.
"Hey, um-" He cut himself off to hold back tears. Fuck did your parents even know about what happened? Your mom sounded so happy, he didn't want to ruin it.
"Katsuki?" Your mother asked in a worried tone, "You okay, dear?"
He nodded, even though she couldn't see him. He wiped his eyes, "I'm fine. I was just calling to ask about Y/n."
"Oh! She should be fine. We dropped her off at the airport a while ago, so she's on her way back to you."
Holy crap. Your mom didn't even know about what happened. He couldn't tell her, there was no way. All he could do was thank her and hang up before he began to cry.
"God dammit." He cried.
Katsuki had never felt so defeated and devastated before. He continued to sit on your shared bed, eventually laying down in it and crying out for you. He didn't know what condition you were in right now, but like he was trained to do, he assumed the worse.
...
Hours later, you were finally off that cramped plane and on your way home. You couldn't wait to see Katsuki and the look on his face when you surprised him.
As you were driven home in an Uber, you were on your phone when a news report popped up. Curious, you clicked on it and found out that it was about the flight you were supposed to be on.
You put a hand over your mouth and thanked every god there was that you ended up on a different plane.
You closed the news article and focused on something else to distract you until you got home.
When you finally did, you giddily ran up the steps to your home and opened the door as quietly as you could. It was pretty early in Japan, so maybe Katsuki was still asleep.
Pulling in your luggage behind you, you took your shoes off and scampered around the house to look for your boyfriend. The house was so quiet, which was strange since his presence was so loud.
Tip-toeing into your bedroom, you awed silently at the sight of him sleeping. You snapped a quick picture and walked over to him, sitting on the bed next to him.
You reached out and stroked the top of his head, lightly scratching his scalp to wake him up. You frowned a bit when you noticed how irritated his eyes seemed. Maybe spring was getting to him already.
"Katsuki, wake up." You whispered.
He grumbled a bit in his sleep, shifting around a bit before finally opening his eyes.
You smiled and held one of his hands in both of yours, "Surprise! I'm home early."
He looked at you with a sleep clouded gaze for a second, and then shot up in bed.
"You're okay?! Oh my fucking god." He said and wrapped his arms around you in a bone crushing hug.
You hugged him back, "Of course I'm okay! Why wouldn't I be?"
He rested his face in the crook of your neck and said, "I-I thought you were hurt. I saw the news about the flight and it crashed!"
You frowned and hugged him tighter, "Oh Katsuki... I'm so sorry I didn't tell you anything." You pulled away slightly and placed your hands on his face, "I wanted to surprise you, so I got on an earlier flight."
He sighed and leaned his forehead onto yours, "Thank fuck you did. I would've brought you back to life and killed you myself if you died." He said, making you laugh now that his personality seemed to be back.
"Now cuddle me." He demanded and wrestled you lightly to lay you down next to him.
You gasped at his words, "Did you just admit you want to cuddle me?" You asked.
"Of course I do, woman. I haven't seen your ass in weeks." He said and laid his head on your chest, wrapping an arm around your waist, lightly stroking the skin there.
You moved around, trying to get into a comfortable position which made Katsuki groan.
He pinched one of your thighs, making you yelp, "Stop squirming. We're going to bed now."
You smiled, "Sorry love," and messed with his hair. "Can I put on a movie Kats?"
"Mmm."
You took that as a yes.
As you watched the movie, you continued massaging Katsuki's scalp and playing with his hair which made him eventually fall asleep. You smiled down at him, happy that he was now at peace compared to earlier.

"I missed this, mama." Hazel sighed, pulling away her cup of hot chocolate. Azriel smiled, looking over at his daughter, sitting next to his now son in law, Kaden.
What did I say? He was going to take away my daughter.
Y/n raised her brows. "It’s barely been a week since you’ve last had it."
Hazel grimaced. "Yeah, and his hot chocolate does not compare."
"Hey that’s mean!" Kaden sputtered, choking on his own drink.
"Yeah, stop being mean to my son."
Hazel rolled her eyes, turning to her father.
"Dad, come on, tell me a story." She had always been fond of listening to stories, and Az, wanting to make his daughter happy, had begun the new habit of telling stories every night.
Azriel glanced at his wife as she settled in next to him, warmth spreading in his chest. No matter how long they’d been married for, even just the sight of Y/n filled Azriel with happiness. Just as it had back when he had first seen her in the market, giggling with her friends over something.
"What do you want to hear about?"
Hazel leaned back, contemplating before perking up. "How you met mom and got married."
Azriel’s cheeks warmed, and he prayed his wife did not notice.
"Look dad, you’ve always said I was too young to know, but now I am even married. I want to know."
Azriel sighed, looking to his wife for help.
"Yeah Az, I wanna know the story too." Y/n grinned, not meeting his eyes.
Knowing he would not be allowed to leave without reliving his most embarrassing moments, he got comfortable in his chair.
"I saw her in the market one day. She was with her friends, and I instantly knew I was going to marry her one day."
She had been so ethereal, and she was in just a simple flowy dress. Her hair had been pinned out of her face, the breeze softly playing with the strands the way Azriel wished he could. Her smile, it could have brought him to his knees. And her sparkling eyes spoke of kindness far more louder than actions, the love and compassion for her fellow fae shining through every blink.
"Did you ever write her love letters and poetry?"
Azriel scoffed, focusing on the dark dregs at the bottom of his cup. "Me? I don’t have to resort to poetry."
Azriel felt his wife’s gaze on him, and he could picture her perfectly, sitting there, eyebrows raised in a are you sure about that? gesture.
"Yeah, he just ended up drowning in the river trying to impress me."
Azriel turned to glare at Y/n accusingly, who simply shrugged. "Now Az, lying is bad. Someone has to tell the truth."
Azriel grumbled, then again began. This time, truthfully. "Feyre needed some paint supplies from the market, and because I was free, I offered to get them for her."
°•°•°•○🌑○•°•°•°
Azriel never thought he would ever ask someone for a romantic day out. After all, he never had to do that. He would just give females a glance and they would ask him to spend time with them themselves.
But this time, it was not happening. The female in the market square barely spared him a glance when he sidled up to her, pretending to look at all the brightly coloured pots on display at the stand she was giggling with her friends over.
"Y/n, that pot would look so good with your couch!"
Y/n. That name would certainly look good with Azriel’s name next to it.
"Yes Cindy, I’m going to cook on my couch."
Azriel smiled down at the pot in his hands, biting his cheek.
"It certainly is beautiful though." He mumbled, voice low so only Y/n could hear as her two other friends started bickering. He felt her stiffen before she glanced at him.
"That it is. But I don’t think I’m in need of more things."
Azriel swallowed, nodding. "You live near?"
Finally, he gathered the courage to meet her narrowed eyes. "Why do you ask?"
He smiled with a confidence he did not feel. "Where will I pick you up from for our dinner tomorrow then if you don’t tell me?"
She reared back as if his words had a physical impact on him.
"I- I’m sorry, I’m not interested."
Azriel blinked. But before he could say anything, she had grabbed her friends’ hands and dragged them away.
But from the slight blush on her face, he knew that he only needed to try and she would agree.
He bought the pot she had been eyeing so longingly just moments before, then hurried to go get the paints Feyre had asked for.
He was so sure he wouldn’t have to resort to poetry.
°•°•°•○🌑○•°•°•°
The next day, Azriel was back at the market square, trying to figure out which direction she had gone. He had probably been wandering around aimlessly when he spotted the beautiful head of the lady he was so enthralled by.
"Hey. Pleasant day." He said as he fell in step beside the unsuspecting female.
She jumped, wide, frantic eyes meeting his own. Exasperation spread through her features as she realised it was him.
"You- what are you doing here?"
He shrugged, grinning as he held his gloved hand out. "I’m Azriel."
Her brows furrowed. She probably thought Azriel was loose in the head. "Y/n."
"Beautiful name for a beautiful lady."
She sighed. "Look, I’ve already told you I’m not interested."
"Why not?"
She paused. "I don’t like males who think they’re entitled to my time."
He nodded sagely. "Me neither. I hate people like that. But look at this like this, I want to get to know you. Maybe this could be something-"
She sighed. "No. Sorry."
Azriel’s palms turned sweaty. He had found her again, he did not want to let her go without getting something out of this. Even one evening of talking was enough. "I- I am the high lord’s shadowsinger."
Her gaze hardened. "Are you threatening me?"
His eyes widened. "No! I could never! I’m just trying…"
"Trying what?"
"To make you interested in me. It has worked before."
She rolled her eyes. "I don’t like males who try to entice me by stating their high powers."
Panic seized Azriel. This was going very wrong very quickly, and he did not like it one bit.
"I did not mean it that way-"
"Really, sir, I do not care what you meant and what you didn’t. Just leave me alone."
Azriel was left gaping after her, breathing heavy.
Fuck.
°•°•°•○🌑○•°•°•°
Azriel balled up another paper, throwing it behind him before clutching his head.
He had decided that being arrogant and trying to keep up his records of never having to resort to poetry would not help him.
Your eyes like the sun,Shining so beautiful,Your hair like waterfall,You-
Was Azriel truly so bad at poetry?
He was doomed.
She wouldn’t give him the time of day, evident by her refusal to even acknowledge him the three times he had tried to interact with her after that day at the market, and he was losing hope. He had sent countless letters and poems already to her house through his shadows, and he still had received no response.
Maybe he was well and truly doomed.
°•°•°•○🌑○•°•°•°
"You know, I still have all those letters and poems."
Azriel’s head whipped to look at his wife, eyes wide. "Why?"
She shrugged, getting up from the couch and taking the cup from Hazel and kaden, both who grinned unabashedly.
"You think I would burn or throw away letters of desperation sent by the spymaster?" Y/n snorted. "Let me get them for you, children."
"No!" Azriel semi-yelled, shooting to his feet before dashing into their bedroom, hoping to stop her before she even tried to reveal all his secrets.
Loud laughter followed the frantic spymaster, but he did not care. All he cared about was finding those letters and burning them, or maybe atleast hiding them away so his wife couldn’t tease him about it.
He had a reputation to uphold, after all.

Absolutely outraged to learn that the little headcanon I dreamt up in bed this morning doesn’t work timeline-wise but screw it, I’m doing it anyway.
When Eddie was small, his mom always used to sing him Rainbow Connection from The Muppet Movie. They’d watched it together over at Uncle Wayne’s trailer when it first came out on VHS and Eddie had been entranced. He’d parked himself right up in front of the small TV, his eyes glued to this little frog playing the banjo.
His mom noticed, of course, and made it theirs. Their song for when his dad was away and they could dance in the kitchen without being yelled at. For when Eddie was sick in bed, or couldn’t sleep, or had woken up with a nightmare. For when he came home from school with grazed palms and tears in his eyes.
“Who said that every wish, would be heard and answered?” his mom sang to him, brushing away Eddie’s tears the day she told him that she was very poorly. That she had to go into hospital, just for a little while, for the doctors to fix her up.
Eddie had asked for the song to be played at her funeral, in his small voice, tugging at his dad’s shirt sleeve. He’d said no, of course. He’d never understood either of them.
But later that night, when everyone had left and his dad was asleep, Uncle Wayne led Eddie out into the backyard and picked up his old guitar. He’d smiled at Eddie as the familiar chords rang out in the night sky and Eddie’s voice trembled when he started to sing, “Why are there so many, songs about rainbows?”
Uncle Wayne’s voice soon joined his, strong and sure. “And what’s on the other side?”
Eddie smiled. Maybe it could be their song, too.
So, years later, when Eddie was shuffling around Steve’s vast kitchen, trying to find where the hell the Harringtons kept their mugs, he found himself humming along to the familiar tune with a happy heart.
“Oho, I see we’ve got another Tammy Thompson fan on our hands here,” came Steve’s voice as he and Robin sidled in and leant against the countertop.
Robin snorted. “Someday we’ll find it,” she sang, her words taking on a pitchy, mocking quality.
Steve joined in, squeaky and off-tune, “The rainbow connection.”
They were grinning at each other as they carried on. “The lovers, the dreamers -”
“Stop,” Eddie yelled, red-faced, his heart beating wildly as he clutched the empty mug in his hand. “Stop it.”
They did, with matching looks of confusion. Clearing spotting the way Eddie was breathing too hard, eyes too glassy, Steve shifted. “Shit, sorry Eddie. We didn’t mean anything.”
And it was bullshit because Eddie knew that. How could they know about that song, about his mom and Uncle Wayne and everything it meant? They couldn’t, but now Eddie had made it weird. Made it awkward. But he was still too worked up, he couldn’t explain.
“S'okay,” he said. “I guess I just don’t feel well. Might go home.”
He didn’t let either of them get another word in before he fled the house.
The next day, Eddie was disturbed from his still-embarrased wallowing by a gentle knock on his bedroom door. It was Uncle Wayne, with a soft look on his face.
“The Harrington boy’s here,” he said. “Came to apologise. Called last night, you know. We talked for a bit.”
He disappeared and moments later a contrite-looking Steve shuffled in.
Eddie pushed himself up against his headboard.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “It was just a joke Robin and I have. I would never -” He cut himself off and sat down on the end of the bed, a little sheepishly. “I got you this.”
Steve pulled his hand out from behind his back to reveal a tiny Kermit the Frog toy, complete with a small, squishy banjo.
Eddie’s chest clenched. He reached out for the toy and smiled wide at Steve.
When the other man dragged him into a hug, Eddie let himself fall into it.
Maybe it wasn’t going to be a song for him and Steve, but it could definitely be the start of something sweet.

"Borrowed Bodies, Reunited Lives".
Dylan’s Perspective:
I always thought a cruise vacation would be perfect: the sun, the sea, and the chance to disconnect from everything. But when your only travel companions are your parents, who can barely spend a minute together without arguing, the idea loses its charm. So, when my parents announced we’d be spending the holidays sailing to Miami, I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and frustration.
They are Ethan and Susan, the perfect representation of a marriage that has lost its way. They argue about everything, from which channel to watch on TV to how to park the car. They never agree, and being in the middle of their endless arguments is a place I’d rather not be. That’s why the idea of spending weeks locked on a ship with them seemed more like a punishment than a break.
If only I could bring Alex and Joshua, my best friends from the gym, things would be different. They’re like my older brothers, always with advice, jokes, and that camaraderie that only forms between those who share long training sessions and complaints about the same exercise machines. Alex is more reserved, but he has a sarcastic sense of humor that always makes me smile, while Joshua is the extrovert of the group, capable of lighting up any room with his energy.
Of course, bringing them along was an impossible dream. My parents would never allow it, and they certainly couldn’t afford it. But sometimes, even the most unlikely things have a strange way of coming true.
One afternoon, as I was walking back from the gym, I saw an elderly woman trying to lift a heavy bag off the sidewalk. I stopped to help her; I didn’t think much of it, it just seemed like the right thing to do. When the woman thanked me, she looked at me with eyes that seemed to pierce through me and said something strange:
—Make a wish, young man. A real one.
I didn’t think much of it. I thought it was some kind of game or joke, but in the end, I said the first thing that came to mind:
—I wish my friends could come with me on the cruise.
The old woman smiled, murmured something I didn’t understand, and walked away. I didn’t dwell on it, although that night I couldn’t help but think about her words.
The day of departure arrived, and as expected, nothing extraordinary happened. Alex and Joshua weren’t there. Everything was the same: my parents arguing, me wishing I wasn’t there. Until, suddenly, things started to get strange.
As the ship set sail, I noticed my parents weren’t just arguing, their voices sounded completely out of place. My dad let out a rude “What the hell am I doing here?”, while my mom muttered a “No way, dude!”. They both looked at me with a mix of confusion and bewilderment.
Then my phone rang. It was Alex. Or at least, that’s what the screen said. I answered, and what I heard on the other end froze me. It was my dad. Or rather, his voice, saying something completely absurd:
—Dylan, it’s me! I’m your dad.
And just like that, my cruise adventure, which already promised to be uncomfortable, took a turn I never could have imagined, even in my worst nightmares.
Ethan and Susan Perspective:
Ethan woke up startled in a place he didn’t recognize. The room was small, with dull-colored walls, barely lit by a beam of sunlight filtering through the curtains. He brought a hand to his face and felt something strange: his beard was gone.
When he looked down, the shock was even greater. This wasn’t his body. His torso was strong, defined, and his hands, large and youthful, weren’t the ones he remembered.
—What the hell is going on?!—he shouted, jumping up.
On the other side of the room, someone else moved. Susan, or at least what should have been Susan, slowly sat up from a single bed. But instead of her slender figure, it was the body of a muscular young man with messy hair and a bewildered expression.
—What happened to me?—Susan asked, touching her face with hands larger than she expected. Then she looked at the mirror in front of her, and a scream escaped her mouth—It can’t be!
Ethan staggered slightly as he approached, trying to control his movements. He looked at both their reflections and confirmed the impossible: he was in Joshua’s body, one of Dylan’s friends, and Susan was in Alex’s.
—This has to be a nightmare…—Ethan said, running a hand through his short hair.
—This isn’t real!—Susan screamed, touching her arms and chest, feeling the muscles now belonging to her. Her gaze was filled with horror—This can’t be real!
At that moment, Susan’s phone—or rather Alex’s, which was in the pocket of her pants—began to ring. They both looked at each other, uncertain. Ethan took the phone and answered.
—Hello?
On the other end of the line, Dylan answered immediately, his tone filled with panic:
—Dad… it’s me.
Ethan squinted.
—Dylan? What’s going on?
—Dad, mom…—Dylan stammered, trying to explain while listening to Alex (now in Ethan’s body) argue with someone in the background—I think… I think you switched bodies with Alex and Joshua.
Susan, who had been listening from across the room, quickly approached.
—What did you do, Dylan?—she asked with Alex’s deep voice, snatching the phone from Ethan—What did you do?!
—I… I didn’t know this was going to happen—Dylan defended himself, his voice full of guilt—I helped an old woman, and she told me she’d grant me a wish. I just asked for Alex and Joshua to come on the cruise with me.
Ethan huffed, snatching the phone back.
—An old woman?! What kind of joke is this?
—It’s not a joke, dad—Dylan replied—This is real, but… I don’t know how to fix it.
—Of course you don’t!—Susan growled from the back, crossing her arms—We’re stuck in the bodies of two guys we barely know!
—Please, just calm down. We need to think…—Dylan tried to say, but his voice sounded weak, even to himself.
—Calm down?—Susan screamed—We lost our cruise, our lives, everything!
Ethan sighed deeply, trying to remain calm, even though his hands were trembling.
—Listen, Dylan. For now, we’ll look for that old woman, if she even exists. You stay on the cruise and try to keep those two idiots under control.
Dylan swallowed hard.
—Got it.
Ethan hung up and placed the phone on the bed, his expression hardened.
—This can’t be permanent, right?—Susan asked quietly, though she knew no one had the answer.
Ethan didn’t respond right away. Instead, he looked at his new arms, so strong that it almost seemed like a joke.
—While we figure out how to reverse this… I think we should make the most of this vacation.
Susan glared at him.
—Make the most of it? Ethan, we’re in the bodies of strangers!
—I know, but we can’t just sit around feeling sorry for ourselves—he said, though a nervous smile crossed his face as he flexed his arms—I never had muscles like this…
Susan ran a hand over her face, frustrated.
—Maybe this is a sign—she murmured, more to herself than to him—A lesson for us.
Ethan raised an eyebrow.
—A lesson?
—To solve our problems… as a couple.
Ethan let out a snort but didn’t argue. Though they both knew that the only thing they could agree on was finding that old woman and returning to their lives as quickly as possible.
In the city, Ethan and Susan walked down a narrow alley, following the coordinates Dylan had provided over the phone. However, the place was empty, with no trace of the gypsy old woman who had set everything in motion.
—This can’t be, she doesn’t even exist!—Susan exclaimed, crossing her arms and shooting a reproachful glance at Ethan—This is your fault.
Ethan raised an eyebrow, clearly tired of his wife’s constant accusations.
—My fault? Please! Dylan was the one who made the wish, and we’re the ones stuck in this mess with his little friends.
Susan snorted, turning around to head back to the apartment they were now sharing.
Once they arrived, they both collapsed on the sofa. Susan sighed with frustration, while Ethan stood up to inspect the small living room.
—This is a disaster—Susan said, bringing her hands to her face—I just want my normal life back.
—I wouldn’t complain too much, you know?—Ethan responded with a smile, taking off his shirt in front of the apartment mirror. He admired his defined and sculpted muscles, something he hadn’t seen in years—Look at this! When was the last time I looked like this?
—For the love of God, Ethan! Put your shirt on. This is ridiculous—Susan scolded, though her gaze briefly drifted to her husband, now in Joshua’s body.
—Ridiculous?—Ethan chuckled as he flexed his arms in front of the mirror—This is like turning back time.
Fed up with his attitude, Susan jumped up and, in a burst of frustration, decided to check for herself how she looked now. She stood in front of the mirror and, with some curiosity, slid her hands down the muscular arms of Alex’s body.
—This… this is weird—Susan admitted quietly, staring at her reflection. Her new body was strong and bulky, something she never imagined experiencing—I’ve never felt like this in my life.
—Weird?—Ethan said, approaching her with a teasing smile—Don’t tell me you’re not enjoying it a little.
Susan rolled her eyes and stepped away from the mirror.
—I don’t care how I look now. What I want is to get my life back, not walk around showing off like you.
Ethan raised his hands in a peace gesture, although he still had a satisfied expression.
—Alright, alright. But, while we find the old woman, we could make the most of it… How about we go out for dinner?
—Dinner?—Susan repeated, raising an eyebrow.
—Yes, of course. But first, I think we should go to the gym. Isn’t that what Alex and Joshua would do? Besides, I’m sure these bodies need exercise to stay like this.
Reluctantly, Susan agreed. After all, there wasn’t much else to do.
At the gym, they faced the demanding routines of Alex and Joshua. Ethan, used to a much more sedentary lifestyle, tried to keep up with the weights, while Susan, clearly annoyed, followed the instructions she found on Alex’s phone.
—This is crazy—Susan murmured, wiping the sweat from her forehead as she watched Ethan drinking an energy shake—How do they do this every day?
—It’s a matter of habit—Ethan replied, smiling as he approached a treadmill.
Suddenly, a young man approached them. He was wearing tight athletic gear and had a relaxed attitude.
—Alex? Joshua?—Ethan asked with a smile, looking them up and down.
Sergio and Susan exchanged quick glances. They had no idea who he was, but decided to play along.
—Yes, it's us—Ethan replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
The young man nodded, as if he already knew them well.
—Great. Hey, I’m hosting a party tonight. You guys should come. It’ll be at my place, nothing formal, just friends.
—Party?—Susan repeated, surprised.
—Yeah, sure. It’ll be fun—the young man responded before giving them more details and walking away with a smile.
When the young man disappeared from sight, Ethan turned to Susan with enthusiasm.
—This is perfect.
—Perfect?—Susan said, crossing her arms—Are you suggesting we go?
—Of course. When was the last time we went to a party with young people? All we do is attend boring adult gatherings. This could be an opportunity to experience something new.
Susan looked at him incredulously, but deep down, something in his words sparked her curiosity.
—Suppose I agree… But no acting like an idiot, Ethan.
—Deal!—he replied with a triumphant smile.
Meanwhile, Susan couldn’t help but wonder if this experience might be more than just a bad nightmare… Maybe, even, an opportunity to rediscover something lost in their relationship.
The night came, and Ethan and Susan, more nervous than excited, tried to pick the best clothes they could find in Alex and Joshua’s wardrobes. Ethan chose some tight dark jeans and a white shirt that was a little too snug, while Susan, uncomfortable, put on a sleeveless shirt and shorts that left little to the imagination.
—This is ridiculous—Susan said, adjusting her clothes in front of the mirror—Do young people really dress like this?
—Relax—Ethan replied, straightening his shirt collar—We’re doing this to fit in, remember?
With little money in their pockets, they decided to stop for a coffee before heading to the party. Sitting at a small table by the window, the atmosphere was surprisingly calm. For the first time in years, they weren’t arguing.
—This is… strange—Susan commented, stirring her coffee.
—What’s strange?—Ethan asked, looking out the window.
—Us. Here, not fighting. As if… as if we were another couple.
Ethan smiled faintly.
—Maybe this change has something good after all.
Before Susan could respond, Ethan’s phone started ringing. It was Dylan.
—How’s everything going over there?—Ethan asked as Susan moved closer to listen.
—Fine... I think. Alex and Joshua are keeping it together, although it’s total chaos.—Dylan sighed on the other end of the line—Did you find the old woman?
—No—Susan responded with frustration—We followed the coordinates, but there was no sign of her.
—Well, at least you tried.
Ethan cleared his throat.
—By the way, we’re going to a party tonight.
—What?—Dylan exclaimed—What party? Whose?
—A guy from the gym invited us. We don’t know him, but he seemed insistent.—Ethan paused—Dylan, do you know who he is?
—No. Maybe he’s new in town or at the gym. Be careful.
They hung up shortly after, and Ethan and Susan finished their coffees before heading to the party.
The place was full of energy. Colorful lights blinked while music echoed in every corner. People were laughing, dancing, and chatting in small groups. Ethan and Susan looked at each other nervously before entering, trying to appear relaxed.
—Remember, act like we know them—Ethan whispered.
Inside, they recognized several people from the gym. Probably Alex and Joshua's friends. Susan tried to chat with a few people, but couldn’t fully connect, while Ethan helped himself to a drink at the table.
It was then that the guy who had invited them appeared. He was tall, with dark brown hair and a charismatic smile.
—Alex, Joshua, I’m glad you came—the young man said, shaking their hands—I’m Elijah, by the way.
—Nice to meet you, Elijah—Susan replied, trying to sound casual.
Elijah smiled in a peculiar way, as if he knew something more.
—So, how are you adjusting to... the new?—he asked with a tone that seemed both innocent and mocking.
Ethan felt something stir inside him. That phrase had been too specific.
—What do you mean?—Ethan asked, feigning disinterest.
Elijah shrugged, his smile barely visible.
—Nothing, just a way of saying. Enjoy the party.
As Elijah walked away, Ethan was left thinking. How could he know something? The idea that he might be connected to the old woman crossed his mind, but he quickly dismissed it. However, something didn’t add up.
He decided to find Susan to talk about it, but at that moment, someone else approached him.
—Hey, Alex, wanna grab a drink?—a young man asked, calling Susan, or rather, Alex’s body.
Susan, unsuspecting, accepted the invitation and walked away, leaving Ethan alone.
Ethan sat at one of the tables, reflecting on what had just happened. He looked around, observing the other guests, but couldn’t get Elijah’s words out of his mind.
—So, how are you adjusting to... the new?
Lost in his thoughts, he barely noticed when Susan came back. But what really snapped him out of his reverie was seeing her without a shirt, wearing a swimsuit she had found in the apartment.
—What the hell are you doing?—Sergio asked, alarmed.
Susan shrugged.
—Apparently, this is normal here. Besides, who cares? No one knows who we really are.
Ethan put a hand to his face, stifling a sigh. This night was going to be longer than he expected.
Susan, still animated by the festive atmosphere and clearly affected by the drinks, approached Ethan with a radiant smile.
—There’s a pool!—she said excitedly—I need a swim, and you do too.
—Susan, I think you've had enough to drink—Ethan responded cautiously, noticing the peculiar gleam in his wife’s eyes.
—Oh, come on! Don’t be boring.—Without waiting for a response, she grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the pool.
Ethan, surprised by the gesture, felt a strange warmth rise to his face. It was something so simple, but it had been so long since he felt that spontaneous connection with Susan. Was he blushing?
When they reached the pool, the atmosphere was completely different: laughter, softer music, and a group of young people enjoying the water under the colorful lights. Susan, without a second thought, jumped into the water, while Sergio stood at the edge, watching her.
—Ethan, come on!—she shouted, splashing him playfully.
He sighed, finally giving in, and stepped into the water. However, just a few minutes later, Susan moved away again, leaving him alone.
Ethan got out of the pool, drying himself off while looking for Susan in the crowd. That’s when he noticed Elijah, standing near a table, looking at him with a smile that seemed more calculated than friendly.
—Hey, Joshua…—Elijah said, walking toward him—Sorry for what I said earlier, about “adjusting to the new.”
—No problem—Ethan replied, though his tone made it clear he didn’t believe the apology—Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm looking for someone.
But Elijah placed a hand on his shoulder, stopping him.
—Wait, let me explain why I said that.
With a mix of suspicion and curiosity, Ethan decided to follow him. Elijah led him to a room downstairs and closed the door behind them.
—So, what’s this about?—Ethan asked, crossing his arms.
Elijah didn’t answer right away. Instead, he got closer, his eyes locked on Ethan’s.
—You know, Joshua... there’s something about you tonight. Something different.
Before Ethan could react, Elijah surprised him by leaning in to kiss him. Elijah’s lips met Ethan’s, and for a moment, Etnan was frozen. He had never kissed a man, nor had he ever imagined being in this situation. Why wasn’t he pulling away?
Finally, he reacted and pulled back abruptly, his heart pounding.
—What the hell are you doing?—he said, breathless, as he stepped back toward the door.
Elijah showed no remorse, just a mysterious smile.
—Maybe… Joshua isn’t as different as you think.
Without responding, Ethan hurriedly left the room, determined to find Susan.
When he finally found her, what he saw left him stunned. Susan, in Alex’s body, was standing close to a young woman, talking in a way that was far too familiar. The girl was laughing while Susan touched her arm, as if she were flirting.
Ethan furrowed his brow as he watched them both head upstairs.
—Susan! —he called, rushing after them.
Susan stopped, turning to face him with an annoyed look.
—What now?
—What are you doing? —Ethan demanded, trying to stay calm—. This is not the time to pretend to be someone else.
—Oh, please, Ethan —Susan replied, crossing her arms—. We're stuck in this absurd situation, what does it matter?
—It matters because we need to take care of each other and stick together. The best thing is that we leave now.
Susan glared at him, shaking her head.
—Do you always have to ruin everything? For once in my life, I just want to have fun.
Before Ethan could respond, Susan turned around and left with the girl.
Frustrated and angry, Ethan decided he’d had enough. He returned to the changing room, grabbed his clothes, and left the party without looking back.
Back at the apartment, Ethan locked himself in the small room he was now occupying, throwing himself onto the bed with a sigh of exhaustion. He waited, phone in hand, for a call or message from Susan, but nothing came.
As he tried to calm himself, his mind drifted back to the kiss from Elijah.
Why didn’t I pull away sooner? he thought, bringing a hand to his lips. He’d never kissed a man before, but there was something about that moment… something that unsettled him.
—I’m not gay… —he murmured, as if trying to convince himself.
Still, he couldn’t ignore what he had felt. Was Joshua gay? The idea troubled him, but it also stirred a strange curiosity.
With conflicting thoughts and emotions, he closed his eyes, and eventually, exhaustion overtook him.
The sound of the alarm clock vibrated softly, and Ethan opened his eyes, hoping everything had returned to normal. But it hadn’t. He was still in Joshua’s body. He glanced at the clock: 11:15 a.m.
He got up sluggishly, running his hands over his face and walking toward the bathroom to do his morning routine. As he washed his hands, an unmistakable smell hit his nose: food. Who was cooking?
When he reached the kitchen, he found Susan, still in Alex’s body, preparing what looked like a balanced breakfast: eggs, avocado, oatmeal, and a protein shake.
—Good morning, “J-Machine”! —Susan said with a smile, using a nickname that seemed to belong to Alex for Joshua.
Ethan frowned at the use of the nickname but decided to ignore it.
—Good morning… —he replied as he sat down at the small kitchen table—. Do you feel alright after last night?
Susan shrugged.
—Yeah, nothing a shower and coffee can’t fix.
—Well, I wanted to talk about what happened at the party…
—About what? —Susan asked, not looking at him as she served a plate.
—About what you did —Ethan insisted—. You drank too much, flirted with a girl, and then left with her. What the hell were you thinking?
Susan briefly looked at him, then returned her attention to her phone, typing messages and smiling as though she wasn’t in the middle of a serious conversation.
—Yeah, yeah… I’m sorry. Do you want avocado or double oatmeal? —Susan said indifferently.
—Susan, listen to me! —Ethan exclaimed, tapping the table gently to get her attention.
Finally, she looked up, slightly irritated.
—What? What did I do wrong now?
—Everything! —Ethan replied with frustration—. You’ve been acting like this is all a game. Not just last night, but always. Even when we were in our original bodies.
Susan frowned, setting her phone aside.
—What do you mean?
—I mean you and I have been distant for years —Ethan confessed, his tone more serious—. But last night, while I was trying to take care of you in that body, I felt something… something I haven’t felt in years. That connection we had when we were younger.
Susan looked at him in disbelief, then let out a sarcastic laugh.
—Connection? Or are you confusing things? Are you gay now?
—What? —Ethan asked, surprised by the question.
—Yeah, because all of this sounds weird. You’re telling me you felt “something” for me while I’m in Alex’s body. What’s going on, Ethan? Are you falling in love with your friend son?
Ethan opened his mouth to respond, but the words didn’t come immediately.
—It’s not that… —he murmured finally, averting his gaze—. It’s more complicated than that.
—More complicated? —Susan repeated, raising an eyebrow—. I don’t know what’s going on with you, but I hope this isn’t about the kiss with Elijah or something like that.
Ethan suddenly stood up, pushing the chair aside.
—You know what? Forget it. I don’t know why I try to talk to you. You always avoid everything, even now that we’re not ourselves.
—Where are you going? —Susan shouted, raising her voice.
—Anywhere where I don’t have to deal with you —Ethan responded, leaving the kitchen and leaving Susan with an expression of confusion and anger.
As he walked toward his room, his thoughts swirled in his mind. Was Susan right? Was he confusing his emotions? Between Elijah’s kiss, Joshua’s body, and his accumulated frustration, nothing seemed to make sense.
Days passed in which Ethan and Susan barely spoke to each other. The resentment from breakfast still lingered, and each one had opted to focus on their own routines. Susan, in Alex's young and athletic body, had become the life of the gym; always surrounded by people, she generated glances and conversations wherever she went. Meanwhile, Ethan preferred to isolate himself in the apartment, playing video games and reflecting on what had happened at that party.
The image of Elijah continued to haunt his mind, especially the kiss they shared. Ethan felt confused, as if that experience had awakened something in him, something he still couldn't fully understand.
On the fifth day, finally, something changed. Tired of the awkward silence, Susan approached Ethan in the living room while he was playing.
—Can we talk? —she asked, in a softer tone than usual.
Ethan paused the game and looked at her, hesitating for a moment.
—I suppose so.
Susan sat next to him, settling into the couch.
—I want to apologize. Not just for what happened at the party, but… for everything. For how things have been between us, even before this strange exchange.
Ethan watched her, surprised by her sincerity.
—I’ve messed up too. I’ve been too wrapped up in myself… and, well, you saw what happened that night. I shouldn’t have scolded you like that.
—No, you were right —Susan admitted—. I’ve always been the type to avoid things instead of facing them. But after all this… I think it’s time to change, for Dylan. Although now, technically, he’s our best friend.
They both chuckled lightly, easing some of the tension.
—For Dylan —Ethan said, raising his fist.
—For Dylan —Susan repeated, bumping her fist against Ethan's.
For a moment, silence settled again, but this time it wasn’t uncomfortable. There was something in the air, a connection they both felt but didn’t know how to express. Susan looked at him with a mix of curiosity and nervousness.
—Can I ask you something? —she said.
—Sure.
—What happened with Elijah?
Ethan sighed and looked away.
—It was strange. I don’t know why he did it… but when he kissed me, I didn’t hate it.
Susan looked at him intently, processing his words.
—You didn’t hate it?
—No. In fact, I think… I liked it.
The atmosphere grew more intimate. Susan placed her hand on Ethan's, and he looked directly at her for the first time in days.
—Maybe all of this is a sign —Susan whispered—. A way to show us that we don’t have to cling to who we were before.
Ethan nodded, and before he could respond, Susan leaned in toward him. It was a soft kiss, filled with a mix of nostalgia, curiosity, and something new that neither of them had ever felt before.
What started as a kiss soon turned into something more. Their bodies, although not their original ones, seemed to fit in a way they had never imagined. They surrendered to the moment, leaving behind the doubts and conflicts that had separated them for so long.
Days later...
Life went on. They hadn’t returned to their original bodies, but it no longer seemed to matter. Ethan and Susan had decided to stop searching for the old woman and, instead, embrace this new opportunity to get to know each other from a completely different perspective.
Dylan, still on the cruise, was completely unaware of what had happened between them, but he would surely find out when he returned. In the meantime, Susan and Ethan found a new routine, learning to live with their new realities and with a relationship that, although unexpected, had given them a new perspective on what it meant to be partners, friends, and companions in this surreal experience that they now called life.

Bradley smiled in contentment as you laced your fingers with his. The tour of the children's hospital which was affiliated with the air show was interesting to him, but as someone who worked in pediatric medicine, you were enthralled. "Daddy, look," you said, pulling him off to the side as the tour guide started to lead the group down a flight of stairs. "Noah would love this."
Bradley was getting some looks from another man in the tour group, because you clearly had no shame when you called him that in front of other people. "Princess," he whispered, kissing your ear as you pointed out the window to the colorful courtyard filled with toys and jungle gyms. "Every time you call me Daddy, that guy smirks at me."
"Who?" you asked, turning to glance at the rest of the group headed for the stairwell. "The one in the green shirt?"
"Yeah," Bradley grunted, watching him look at you.
You laughed softly and turned back to Bradley. "He just wishes someone would call him Daddy."
"You're probably not wrong," he replied with a smile. "The group is leaving without us."
"We can catch up," you whispered, wrapping your arms around him in his rough flight suit. You were a soft and warm presence, your cheek coming to rest on his patch that said ROOSTER. "Thanks for bringing me. I didn't want to have to call Jake and hit him up."
Bradley could tell you were trying not to laugh. "What did I tell you about acting like a brat?"
He rubbed soft circles against your back and you sighed. "Why would I stop now when you so clearly enjoy it?"
Bradley groaned. "Let's get going. The tour is almost over, and then I can load you up with champagne and take you home."
You and he had to rush down the stairs to rejoin the group, and of course the man in the green shirt was looking at Bradley like he'd just fucked you in the middle of the hallway or something. But your fingers were laced with his again, so it didn't matter.
You ended up asking the tour guide so many questions along the way that he learned your name and that you were a pediatric nurse, and he answered you in great detail each time. The hospital provided state of the art treatment for children, and when the group walked past an indoor play area where some kids were coloring, you paused and waved to them. They waved back, and you whispered, "Why does everything remind me of Noah?"
"Because you're his mom," Bradley replied without really thinking about it. That was the most natural response. Why did you care so much? Because you were his mom. Why did you prioritize Noah above everything else? Because you were his mom. Part of the reason Bradley let himself indulge in those early fantasies about you was because his son fell in love with you first.
"I miss him a little bit," you whispered, nibbling on your glossy lip. Bradley brought your hand up to his lips and kissed along your purple nails.
"I'm sure he misses you, too. But he's probably getting in bed by now. Let's enjoy the rest of the night?" Bradley asked.
"I'm spending it with you. Of course I'm going to enjoy it."
-------------------------
The cocktail reception was beautiful. That colorful courtyard that caught your eye had been lit up with strings of white lights, and the tour group had been led outside into the warm evening air. After two glasses of champagne, you were still pouting over the fact that there were no berries at the bottom, but you were also feeling nice and loose. "Maybe I should go tell the green shirt guy's wife that he'd love it if she called him Daddy," you remarked as Bradley brought over a plate of hors d'oeuvres to share with you.
Bradley gave you a bland look in response as he dipped shrimp into cocktail sauce and set the plate down on the tall table where you stood. "If you go over there and say anything involving the word Daddy, they will probably try to get you to be their third."
Heat rushed to your cheeks immediately. "Bradley!"
He just shrugged in response and offered you the plate. You plucked up your own piece of shrimp wondering how on earth a comment like that from your boyfriend could make you want to take him home to bed immediately. But it did. And your desire for him only grew as you watched him unzip his flight suit and pull out his checkbook.
"Please. You know what that thing does to me," you whispered, fumbling your food before you managed to get it to your mouth.
Bradley laughed as he uncapped a pen. "My checkbook? The thing you always make fun of?"
You shook your head and took another bite of shrimp. "You know I think all of your old man stuff is sexy. But what do you need a check for?"
He examined your face before he leaned on the table, pen hovering over the check. "You said Jake was going to donate five thousand bucks if he got to fly in the air show?"
"That's what he told me."
Bradley hummed and wrote the check out to the children's hospital for six thousand dollars. "Can't have him showing us up. You wanna sign it?"
You were wiping your fingers on a cocktail napkin and admiring your nails as you said, "How am I supposed to sign your check?"
He set the pen down on the checkbook and pushed it across the table toward you before picking up the plate and eating an eggroll in two big bites, eyes firmly on you. He was acting weird now, but you dragged your gaze away from his face down to the table and gasped. The top corner of the check said BRADLEY BRADSHAW in bold font, but now your name was listed right under his along with the address of the cute, blue bungalow in Coronado where you lived.
"Why did you do that?" you asked, staring at your name.
"Because I trust you. And now I can drag you down into my deep, dark, embarrassing, millennial rabbit hole where I still pay for things with checks and don't know how to use my phone. And you can pay for daycare when I'm not home."
You tried to fight it, but a huge smile broke out on your face. "Casey is going to hate this."
"Casey isn't going to know what hit her when she sees you next week, Princess," he said as you signed your name on the bottom of the check and tore it free. You tucked yourself against his side and looked at the two names together while he polished off the rest of the food on the plate.
"Thanks for letting me be your date tonight," you told him, and he laughed.
"Who else would I have asked to come with me?"
"Skittles."
He kissed the top of your head. "Okay. You got me there. Ready to hand in our check and go home before the guy in the green shirt and his wife get any more ideas?"
"Yeah. Let's go home."
------------------------------
Bradley gave you a piggyback ride in from the Bronco while also carrying your high heels and your bag. He could tell you were a little tipsy by the way you were giggling softly next to his ear and running your nose through his hair. "Daddy," you whispered as he put his key in the front door. "Are you going to fuck me on the living room floor or in bed?"
"Shh," he coaxed, pushing the door open to reveal Amelia sitting on the couch, reading a comic book. "Can you behave for like five minutes, please?"
You erupted into laughter as you held onto him, and even Amelia was laughing as Bradley asked, "How was Noah?"
"Great," she replied, tossing her comic into her backpack. "He had two slices of pizza. I put the leftovers in the fridge. I just wiped him down instead of giving him a bath, and he was asleep by 8:30."
Bradley shook his head as you kissed his ear. "This one should have also been in bed by 8:30," he mumbled, making you laugh more. He set you down so he could get his wallet out.
"Thanks, Amelia," you told her kindly before turning back to Bradley and smirking. "Please give her cash and not a check, old man. I'm going to give Noah a goodnight kiss."
Bradley shook his head and handed Amelia what was owed for the night while she laughed. "Thank you," he told her, opening the door and watching her walk to her car. He stood there until she started the engine, and he made sure she pulled away with a wave.
Skittles was already curled up in her bed, but you were nowhere to be found when he got to the bedroom. "Princess?" he called out with a chuckle, doubling back to the bathroom. Not three minutes ago you were all smiles, and he was getting ready for you to tease him relentlessly before maybe getting that black dress off of you. But as he unzipped his flight suit a few inches and peeked inside Noah's bedroom door, he found you.
A beam of moonlight shone in through the window, illuminating your face and Noah's as both of you slept curled up together in the twin sized bed. Bradley stood in the doorway for a long time, trying to decide what to do with you as his smile grew. This was all he wanted. Just his family. He strode the rest of the way into the room and brushed Noah's soft curls back from his forehead before kissing him there. Then he leaned over and kissed your cheek. "I love you," he whispered to you both, ultimately deciding to leave you with his son for the night.
Bradley moved your phone charger into Noah's room along with your phone which he took out of your purse. You had given him your passcode before, but he hated using it without your permission. When he entered it, he saw a few new texts from your coworkers and one from Nat. That made him smile as he set an alarm for 8:00 to ensure you and Noah would get to the air show in time to see him fly. His plans were relying on that.
He kissed you both once more each and left your charging phone on Noah's dresser before he went to get himself ready for bed. He groaned, remembering the ungodly early hour he had to get himself out the door in the morning. At least you could follow him to Miramar a little later. Before he climbed into bed, he made sure he had everything ready that he would need for the air show: a clean flight suit, phone, wallet, and the ring box.
----------------------------
"Mommy!"
You opened your eyes to find Noah giggling right in front of you. As you looked around, you realized you were in his bedroom. When you sat up, you noticed your phone alarm was going off.
"Why did you sleep in my bed?" he asked as you reached for your phone to silence it. Amongst your notifications, you saw a text from Bradley and quickly opened it.
Bradley Bradshaw: Good morning, Princess. You looked so adorable in bed with Noah, I didn't want to move you. I hope you slept well, and I can't wait to see you both after I fly at 11:00.
You tossed your phone aside and kissed Noah on the top of his head. He was wearing his favorite dinosaur pajamas, and he looked so perfectly sweet. "I guess I needed some extra cuddles last night, and I knew just where to find them."
He let you pull him against you for about twenty seconds before he started to wriggle away. "I'm hungry. I want to see where Skittles is."
You watched him take off down the hallway as you rolled onto your back. You were still in your black dress, and you could barely remember getting home last night and seeing Amelia reading a comic book. You stretched and made your way into the kitchen relieved that you had plenty of time to get you and Noah dressed in your matching outfits and on the road to the air show. You turned on the coffee maker as you watched him petting Skittles by the back door.
"Here, let's see if she needs to go outside," you said as you slid the door open for the dog. "What do you want for breakfast?"
"Cereal and probably some fruit."
"Good choice."
Once you had Noah and Skittles both settled with some food, you kissed him on the forehead. "I'm going to take a really fast shower while you eat, okay? Just stay at the table, and I'll be right back." Noah nodded as he ate one of the pieces of banana you'd cut up for him. You dashed into the bathroom, cranking the shower to hot and stripped out of your dress and the lacy underwear Bradley didn't even get to see. But there would be plenty of time for that sort of thing later.
You started to make a mental list of everything you needed to take with you to the air show. You had some snacks already prepared, and you'd need the beach blanket from the hallway closet. Sunblock and maybe a towel or two. Earplugs for you and the noise canceling headphones for Noah. Did you need to take some tampons with you? What was today? It was Saturday. Should you take tampons?
You dropped your razor with a clatter as you spun around and got yourself rinsed off while your heart pounded. You turned off the water and stood in the middle of the bathroom, dripping water onto the mat. When you reached for a towel, you cracked the door open. "Noah? You still okay?"
"Yeah, Mommy."
You wrapped yourself up and tried to remember if you'd had your period even once since Bradley flushed your birth control down the toilet at the lake house. No. No you had not. Not even once. But the thing you had been doing was having almost nonstop unprotected sex with your boyfriend.
"Shit." You brushed your teeth and started moving as fast as you could while your brain was in such a fog. You needed to get dressed and find your car keys. You needed to go to the pharmacy. "Noah," you called out as you ran around. "We need to run to the store as soon as you're done eating!"
Somehow you managed to get yourself dressed and somewhat presentable looking, and then you pulled the yellow shirt over Noah's head that matched the flowers on your dress. You couldn't tell if you were more nervous or more excited at the thought of buying a pregnancy test with your Princess credit card, but in that moment, you really did feel like you were Noah's mom. He reached for your hand, and you led him outside to your car. Bradley put you fully in charge of his son, and you'd do anything for this child. Even the idea of Noah as a big brother had you buckling him in faster.
"We'll just run to the store and then come back home really quickly," you whispered in excitement.
"I want to go to the air show and see Daddy," he whined. "You promised."
You kissed his chubby cheek. "You're right. I promised. And I will always keep my promises. We'll go to the air show right after we stop back home."
-----------------------------
Bradley was restless. He originally thought this was a great idea, zipping the engagement ring inside one of the many pouches on his flight suit. But he kept checking relentlessly to make sure it was still there. And all he'd really done all morning was wait around after he landed his Super Hornet in Miramar. The other pilots were fine. They seemed nice. But they probably thought Bradley was a complete basketcase. Now he was pacing the tarmac, anxious to get into the air as he checked his phone again.
My Princess: Hey, Daddy. Noah and I arrived! We have a good spot in the grass on the west end of the runway. Can't wait to see you fly!
This was good. It was good that you were already here. He should be in the air in about thirty minutes. He knew what he needed to do. The flight formation was ingrained in his mind. It would be a snap.
But he needed to get this fucking ring on your finger. He should have just proposed the night he brought it home. He'd thought about it then and every day since. For some reason he'd convinced himself that waiting for today was his best move, but now he couldn't even remember why. God, he just wanted to hear you say yes. He wanted to know you would be his and Noah's forever. He wanted to sit up with you later and hold you on his lap while the two of you read over the adoption paperwork.
"Fuck," he muttered, checking the time again. It was so obvious from the very beginning that you belonged with him, and he'd fought it for long enough that he had hurt you. Some of the decisions he made weren't the best, but as soon as he picked you up from that fraternity party, he knew that was never going to happen again.
"Rooster? It's almost time to go."
"Yeah," he agreed, patting the pocket of his flight suit again. "I'm ready."
As he climbed up the ladder into his jet, he glanced toward the west end of the runway. The entire event was packed, and it was impossible to pick the two of you out, but he waved nonetheless, hoping maybe you could see him. This combination of nerves was new to him. Settling into the seat and running his fingers along the controls was always exhilarating, but now he was starting to think you'd say it was too soon to be engaged. He had been trying to make his intentions clear for weeks, getting little to no resistance from you. But there was always a chance.
"It's time!"
He closed his canopy after securing all of his harnesses and strapping his helmet into place. At least you and Noah would be able to see him fly for the first time. Then even if you said it was too soon, you'd know he was ready when you were, and that there was a ring waiting.
The sound of his engines roaring to life brought him comfort and kept him feeling grounded even as he started to taxi. He took off past the packed end of the runway where you were surely sitting, and he knew you'd point him out to Noah. Maybe he was sitting all snuggled up on your lap with his big headphones on. The cozy idea made Bradley want to be down there as he pulled his first roll high above the ground in tandem with the other pilots. The comms crackled to life as he banked out toward the water.
The sky was clear in every direction; the perfect day for flying. He felt calmer now as he cut graceful movements through the air past two of the others, and even though you were just a speck on the ground from this altitude, he knew you could see him. And he knew you were perfect. And he somehow knew you'd say yes.
As soon as he landed to the crowds of people along the runway cheering and waving Navy flags in the air, he taxied his jet back where it belonged and climbed out as soon as the ladder was available. When he saluted the officer in charge he asked, "Am I dismissed?" He didn't want to wait another minute as he once again checked inside that zipper pouch.
"You're dismissed, Lieutenant. Thank you."
He started off at a bit of a brisk walk that turned into a jog. He passed through the guarded chain link fence lined with barbed wire and turned in the direction where you said you were sitting, texting as he dodged spectators in the crowd.
I'm on my way to the two of you.
Without waiting for a response, he moved as quickly as he could past food vendors and flight simulations. All he could picture was the way you'd slept all night curled up with Noah, because when you were with him, everything that was important to Bradley was all in one place, and it made him ache. His flight suit felt restricting now, and he wished he'd taken the time to unzip the top of it. But he had his mission in mind, and nothing was going to stop him.
Eyes searching the crowd for your floral dress pattern and Noah's yellow shirt, he finally saw you pop up from the blanket you were sitting on to wave at him. A smile found Bradley's face as his feet carried him in your direction. You were holding Noah's small hand in yours as people started wandering around the area before the next set of aircrafts took off. Bradley wiped his brow with his sleeve as he got close enough to see your purple nails as you picked Noah up to wave.
"Hi, Daddy!" his son called out, the noise canceling headphones slipping out of place as you laughed and removed them for the time being. The headphones dropped from your fingertips and landed on the blanket just as Bradley wrapped both of you in a hug.
"Hey, Bub," he said as Noah climbed into his grasp.
"We saw you in the air!" you gushed, wrapping your arms around him. "Noah loved it so much."
His lips were on yours instantly as his fingers flexed against your back. With one hand around each of you, Bradley wished he'd taken the ring out on his jog over. Now he was out of breath and sweaty and trying to juggle Noah in one arm while the child talked a mile a minute about the airplanes. Because when Bradley broke the kiss and looked at your face, all he wanted to do was hand you that ring and his heart and his life and beg you to always be with them.
"Princess," he rasped, leaning in to kiss your forehead as he pulled his hand back to find that zipper. He fumbled a bit with it as you bit your lip a little nervously, so he leaned in to kiss your cheek before turning his attention to Noah. "I really need your help, Bub."
"With what?" he asked, arms still wrapped around Bradley's neck.
As his fingers closed around the ring, he whispered, "We have to ask Mommy a question."
The crowd was loud enough that Bradley thought there was a good chance you couldn't hear his words to Noah as he finally shared his plans for the day with his son. But as he sank to one knee in front of you with Noah perched in front of him, you looked more apprehensive. He handed Noah the ring and watched as his son reached his hand up to you. It was too late to stop now as you caught sight of the princess cut diamond that Bradley thought you'd love from the first time he saw it. Your eyes went wide, and you gasped loudly, eyes fixed on Bradley as you froze. His brain was screaming at him that you were going to say no.
Then Noah's sweet voice filled the space between the two of you as he held the ring up a little higher and asked, "Mommy, will you marry Daddy?"
You were looking from Noah to Bradley as you pressed your fingertips to your lips, and your response was neither a confirmation nor a rejection of his proposal, but rather something Bradley had been hoping for but thought was still a long way off. Tears filled your eyes as you said, "I'm pregnant."

The forgotten child
Pairing's : fem! reader x peter parker, tony stark daughter! x tony stark, tony stark daughter! x peter parker
Warnings: really sad angst, jealousy, daddy issues, neglect, lmk if i missed anything! :)
Summary: dad of the year award? surely isn't going too him
a/n : I know the gif doesn't really match the theme of this story I just really liked it. I did not reread this so please ignore any grammar mistakes. Also, I'm not sure if i wrote a panic attack correctly but I wrote based on what their like for me. hope you all enjoy!
you really tried not to become the forgotten child, always tried you're very hardest to live up to your father expectations, trying to make him proud in hope's he'd show some form of attention.
always studying to get straight a's even through countless anxiety attacks from fear of failing and disappointing your father.
all you ever wanted was reassurance, and if you ever got lucky enough a "You did a good job" after getting a high score on a test.
but it never came, it would forever be something you longed to hear. he would usually just mumble a small, quiet "congrats" as his mind stayed focused on his work and his eyes stuck to the blueprint laid out on the table Infront of him.
you always tried you're best not to feel jealous whenever your father held morgan, you had no ressentiment towards morgan whatsoever, in fact she was the one that kept you smiling most days. although you couldn't help but feel your heart tighten from jealousy as you watched them have daddy daughter time
you really did try you're best to be happy for your younger sister, but you couldn't ignore that aching feeling. all you wanted was the attention she had that your heart ached so desperately for, but it never came despite your countless attempts.
you we're astound to hear a new avenger had been recruited, you always enjoyed meeting new people. mainly because they gave you attention they didn't even know you craved.
you always seeked to see the best in people, no matter what the circumstances we're. including peter parker, there was nothing wrong with him, he wasn't a bad person in fact quite a good one, and if you weren't so envious of him you possibly could have been friends with the boy. but you watched how peter and your father clicked so easily becoming like father and son.
it made the knots in your stomach tighten as you watched them spend time together, it made you feel as if something was wrong with you, like maybe if you tried harder or changed, he'd give you the attention you deserved.
your mother, pepper always said he loved you just as much as he loved morgan or even peter, but you knew the truth as much as you ignored it you knew. but oh, how you wish he did.
"Mom, I'm home" you called out knowing if father was home, he wouldn't answer you. after not receiving an answer, you decided to look through the house in search of your mother, after a couple of minutes searching you still hadn't found her and decided she probably went out and took morgan with her. you heard talking but it sounded like your father, and peter?? "what's peter doing here?" you wondered. you decided to peak you're head through the door and saw peter and tony standing with their backs faced away from you, working on some upgrades for peter's suit.
"you're a pretty great kid peter" tony told him as he smiled at him patting his shoulder. a wave of jealously hit your chest as you watched them, your throat tightening. "Thank you, Mr. stark," peter smiled cheekily as your fingers clenched into a fist at your side.
"Becoming like my son."
once those words left Tony's lips, your mouth went dry, your head aching as you backed away from the door as quietly as possible, you're breathing picking up rapidly. you quickly made your way to your room, tears forming in your eyes, you walked into your room and shut the door softly as your hands started shaking as you paced around your room quickly, trying to stop the tears from rolling down your cheeks. you never liked crying, it made you feel weak.
you're breathing came out in heavy gasp as you struggled to breathe. you leaned against the wall coughing as you squeezed your eyes shut as you tried to stop the words from replaying in your mind.
"Becoming like my son" continuously echoed through your head as soft sobs left your lips, you didn't want to feel this way, envious of what your father and peter had. it's not peter's fault about what your father feels about you so why hold him accountable. he'll never love you, at least not like he loves peter. you can't figure out why? you always tried you're best to impress him, but nothing seemed to be enough for him, it's like he didn't even care about your existence.
you stumbled over to your bed, taking deep breathes as your body grew exhausted from crying. you plopped down on your bed tiredly as you snuggled up against your blanket that was where your pillows we're supposed to be, you grabbed a pillow and hugged it too sleep.
you didn't want to put the blame on peter because it wasn't his fault, but a little piece of your heart blamed peter parker.
a/n: CLIFFHANGER!?!? I decided to leave it for now because I haven't come up with an ending that I thought fit the way I wanted so if you guys have ideas, please let me know. reblog's are highly appreciated, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐩 (𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐱 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫)
Rumors start flying at the Heffley's chaotic family dinner, and what was once just a joke turned into the realest thing you’ve ever had.
tags n warnings: fluff, suggestive, no smut, f!reader, christmas party. word count: 1.4k
It was Christmas, and Rodrick Heffley kept banging on his drums like they were the only thing keeping him sane during that chaotic family dinner. Greg was off messing around with Rowley, and Rodrick couldn’t do a thing about it in the name of "holiday spirit." To make things worse, Heather Hills had rejected him two weeks before, and she was now a guest at the dinner. Meanwhile, his mom couldn’t stop dancing to those ridiculous Christmas songs, while his dad stood there, practically dying of embarrassment.
Sneaking through the door, you spotted Rodrick giving his best aggressive solo, admiring how talented—and pissed—he could be, just like the goofy kid he was. You knew him from music class, and you couldn’t help but fall in love with the way he played. You definitely had a thing for drummers—it was obvious with all the school crushes and band posters you had. But Rodrick was different. He wasn’t your average rockstar; he was a cute, emo boy trying to look dark and mysterious, and that made you smile.
"Escaping the party?" you asked, leaning against the doorframe, the clinking of plates filling the air.
Rodrick paused, lifting his hand to silence the drums. "What’d you say?" he asked, glancing over at you with a raised eyebrow, his ears still ringing from the loud music.
"Escaping the party?" You repeated, grinning as you stepped closer and plopped down on the small sofa in the garage.
"Yeah, that’s torture," he muttered, a half-smile tugging at his lips as he slid off his stool to sit next to you. The overwhelming scent of his cologne, too strong for someone his age, hit you like a wave. You tried not to wrinkle your nose.
"I agree. My parents won’t stop saying embarrassing stuff about me, and my little sister’s acting all sweet like she’s not the literal spawn of Satan," you said, rolling your eyes.
"Don’t you just hate that?" He chuckled, crossing his left leg and settling more comfortably on the couch. "Younger siblings…"
"It’s like their job," you laughed, adjusting your oversized sweater to make yourself more comfortable.
"How'd you escape the sweater curse?" you asked, genuinely curious.
Rodrick grinned proudly. "I told my mom that if I wore a sweater, I’d torture the guests with a live band performance and body odor." He leaned back, clearly pleased with himself.
"Ugh, I wish I could pull that off. I’m stuck wearing this ridiculous thing," you sighed, leaning your elbows on your knees and propping your chin in your hands.
To be honest, Rodrick thought you looked kinda cute in that sweater two sizes too big, but there was no way he was gonna admit that out loud. Pfft, a rockstar liking a sweater?
"I think you look cute," he whispered, breaking every rockstar rule just to get a smile out of you.
"Thanks," you replied, feeling your cheeks flush a little.
"Hey, how ‘bout we go to my room and listen to something that’s not this Santa nonsense?" Rodrick suggested, standing up abruptly. "I mean… if you want, of course. Not like it’s mandatory or anything. I don’t wanna force you to do anything…"
"I’m in." You grinned, standing up and stretching. "But, uh, how do we get past all those people?"
Rodrick rolled his eyes dramatically, a grin playing on his lips. "Pfft. Relax. I’ve got the perfect plan."
"And what’s this brilliant plan, Heffley?" You crossed your arms and tilted your head, raising an eyebrow.
"Simple. We run." He grabbed your hand and tugged you along, sprinting from the garage, through the living room, and up the main staircase, weaving through all the older relatives and kids in the room.
"Rodrick!" Susan shouted from across the room, causing you both to freeze mid-step, caught like deer in headlights.
"Great plan, huh?" you muttered, narrowing your eyes at him, turning to see Mrs. Heffley glaring at you both from the bottom of the stairs.
"What do you think you're…" She stopped mid-sentence, her gaze dropping to your joined hands, and a sly smile spread across her face.
"Oh, no. Mom, it’s not what you think," Rodrick stammered, quickly letting go of your hand to take a step down.
"Uh-huh." She held up a hand to stop him, her eyes flicking back and forth between you two, pausing to focus on how red your face had become. "I know exactly what my little darlings are up to. Why didn’t you tell me you brought your girlfriend for Christmas, Rodrick? This makes me so happy."
"Girlfriend?" You both said at the same time, exchanging a look.
"Everyone, come here! Greg, Manny, sweetie, I’ve got great news!" Susan called, skipping happily toward the living room.
"Let’s go," Rodrick said, practically dragging you down the hallway, slamming the door shut behind you both. He wedged a chair under the doorknob to make sure no one would burst in.
"Wow, I almost died back there," you laughed, placing a hand over your chest and walking backward until you collapsed onto his bed, your feet swinging off the side.
Rodrick ruffled his hair in a slightly awkward manner before lying down next to you, his long legs hanging off the side of the bed. "Damn, sorry about that... my mom..."
"It’s fine," you reassured him, glancing up at the ceiling. "She and my mom are probably still talking about it."
"Yeah. You being my girlfriend," he teased, rolling his eyes.
"Girlfriend. Can you imagine? What a joke," you laughed, staring at him, your gaze lingering on his dark eyeliner. His eyes were so beautiful, so expressive.
"It’s a joke. Girlfriend…" he repeated quietly, his gaze softening as he took in your face. You were so beautiful, so real, so...
Before he knew it, his lips were on yours in a desperate kiss, his hand finding its way to your waist, which you immediately responded to, your fingers tangled in his hair.
It felt perfectly right. His lips were soft, and you tasted just right. The way your bodies fit together, the way your tongues danced together, and how his hands knew exactly where to touch you. It was awkward, sure, but that was what made Rodrick special—everything he did was so real.
The kiss broke, and you both stared at each other, neither of you needing to say a word to know that you should have done this much sooner. But then, your laughter broke the silence, a burst of awkward giggles that filled the room.
"I’m such an idiot," Rodrick laughed, his body shaking with the movement, and you couldn’t help but laugh along. It was like being wrapped in a warm blanket by the fire.
"You are. What even was that?" you said, still laughing, the sound echoing between you two.
"I don’t know. But I liked it," he admitted, stopping his laughter for a second to look into your eyes, his expression soft.
"I liked it too," you smiled, leaning in for another hug, the warmth of his embrace pulling you closer. "But I think we just made a rumor come true."
"Damn, it’s true," he muttered, biting his lip to stifle the next burst of laughter, which escaped when you smiled again. "How about we keep this rumor going for a bit, until we’re actually boyfriend and girlfriend?"
"Rodrick Heffley wants to be my boyfriend?" You teased, and he couldn’t resist pinching your cheeks.
"Maybe," he replied, his voice a little unsure, but hoping for the best in return.
"I do too. Maybe. Want to be your girlfriend," you said, giving him a sly smile.
"Cool."
"But I think we should leave the room before we start another kind of rumor," you giggled, gesturing toward the door. "You know... that kind."
"I wouldn’t mind if the rumor was true," he teased, his gaze sweeping over you from head to toe before focusing on your mouth, and then your eyes.
"I wouldn’t mind either," you whispered, your eyes falling on his lips. And that was enough for Rodrick to do what he did best—go in for another kiss. That night, you both made sure to live up to all the Christmas rumors that might swirl around the table, especially when you came back wearing that worn-out sweater, messy hairstyle and Rodrick had eyeliner that clearly belonged to someone with a lot more experience. Yeah, for the first time, you were grateful rumors existed.

“i just put lily down for a nap incase you wanted to take one yourself. i can make some food in the meantime,” rafe suggested with a gentle kiss to your forehead as he walked passed.
it had been a long couple of months. since getting kicked out, ward and rose had helped you both to buy a house of your own, you’d had your daughter which you and rafe decided to name lily, and you’d began dating officially.
“thank you, baby,” you replied before walking over to the couch and flopping down onto it. you grabbed the remote and began flipping through netflix for some movies to watch. “hey, you know my mom called me the other day?”
he stopped his shuffling through the pantry and poked his head out to look at you. “what’d she want?”
“she asked a ton of questions about the baby since obviously she didn’t come to any of the parties beforehand. and all of a sudden she cares to be in her life,” you said sourly. “i didn’t tell her anything.”
he rolled his eyes and continued looking for something to cook. “good. they’re assholes. lily doesn’t need ‘em in her life.”
you smiled to yourself and clicked on a movie, tucking yourself under a blanket and getting comfortable. you heard the stove turn on and settle on a setting before something was being poured into what she assumed was a pot of water.
pasta.
rafe knew it was your favorite. you began to smile even harder, barely even focusing on the movie now.
you felt his weight by your feet just before he was grabbing your legs and tossing them over his lap so you weren’t cuddled up in a ball.
interrupting your quiet time, a loud knock sounded through the house. rafe immediately prepared to stand, to which you urged him back down. “i got it, babe. rest for a little. you’ve been running around all day.” you pressed a gentle kiss to his lips before rushing to the front door and opening it.
you began wishing you never had when you caught sight of your parents standing on your doorstep with a woven basket full of stuff inside in your mothers hands. “hi, honey,” she greeted cheerfully. “we were wondering if we could see the baby?”
you scoffed and laughed. “no?”
“what?” she asked in disbelief. “we—we drove all this way though just to see her.”
“i didn’t ask you to though,” you replied. “how’d you even find my address?”
your father rolled his eyes. “are you serious? we drove a long way here and brought a gift just for you to deny us our right to see our grandchild?”
“what right do you have?” you asked genuinely. “you kicked me to the curb and made it very clear you wanted nothing to do with me or my child over these last few months. and now what? you suddenly wanna involve yourselves in our lives?”
“we deserve to see her,” your mother argued.
you heard rafe get up and before you knew it, he was at your side, face to face with your parents. “you don’t deserve shit.”
your mother gasped while your father looked taken back. “excuse you? watch who you’re talking to, son.”
“you abandoned her and supported us in no way. you have zero rights or claims on our child,” he stated. “and not to mention, this is our home and our property, which you are trespassing on and possibly endangering our child. i could call the police right now and—“
“no!” your mother said quickly. “that won’t be necessary. we just want to meet our grandchild.”
rafe laughed and raised his eyebrows. “you never wanted anything to do with our family before, so you both can fuck off,” he replied with a sarcastic grin before slamming the door in their faces.
he turned to you and scanned over your features. “you okay, my love?”
you nodded and smiled at his protectiveness. “yeah.”
“you don’t need them,” he reassured. “you’re doing the right thing. and you’re doing an amazing job with lily.”
you loosely wrapped your arms around his neck and leaned into him slightly. “thank you. and you,” you paused and kissed his lips softly. “are doing the best that i could ever imagine.”
“fuck ‘em, right?” he smiled against your lips.
you nodded and chuckled. “fuck ‘em.”

So Conrad comforts her later and if u don't mind u could include some smut at the end?
(this is my situation rn lololol but without Conrad to comfort me😭)

summary: request
conrad fisher x reader
a/n: i’m so sorry love, sorry this is a few days late but you are so loved and appreciated no matter what, hope this makes you happy today <3
it’s been a recurring theme for most of y/n’s life. the overheard quotes about the older sibling had eventually become a reality. they didn’t even wait for y/n to try and live up to them. instead, they just accepted that their daughter wasn’t as good as the rest of their children.
as upsetting as it is, kids experience it too much. y/n experiences it every day, so when she realized it wasn’t normal, that’s when it started to hurt more every year.
this day was supposed to be different. she was so excited, turning 18 and finally being an adult. free of her parents if she wanted to be. she thought that maybe, just maybe, her parents would think of her for a day, and make it about it. alas, the second she woke up and walked into the kitchen, y/n’s hopes were shut down.
“y/n, can you take y/b/n to practice? i’m going out with sharon today,” her mom said, barely even looking at her.
“uh, i’m leaving in a bit, remember?” she speaks, trying to sound as polite as possible. “the fishers invited me over for today.”
“hon, we get it,” her dad talks next, peering up over his glasses and newspaper of the town. “but, to some point, it’s just another day. just do what your mother asked.”
y/n looks at her little siblings at the table, messing around and receiving no repercussions. she still remembers when that was her. playing with her parents, happier than she ever was again. she loves her siblings to death, but she loves herself, too. y/n deserves more than she’s been given, so she confides. she drives her brother to whatever practice, wishing him luck as he whispers a happy birthday, then jumping out of the car to see his friends.
she’s already dressed up for the party for belly. the fishers had welcomed her with open arms, even having decorations and sweets for her on the table. everyone figured she’d have something going on at home, but oh, they were so wrong. she didn’t receive a single birthday message from the people who gave her life, so did it matter? even if she didn’t believe it, at least the fishers knew she was worth it. she was dressed in one of her best outfits, a simple dress with small flowers printed over. she had small wedges and her hair was done neatly. she felt pretty, she is pretty.
she walked into the house, belly hearing the door open first. she skips toward, engulfing y/n in a huge hug. “y/n!” she squeals. “happy birthday!”
“oh, belly! happy birthday to you, you look so cute!”
“are you kidding? your man’s gonna go wild when he sees you!” she whispers, making y/n blush toward the end.
“belly, stop!” she nudges. “he’s not my man… yet.”
they giggle together before moving back into the kitchen where y/n greets susannah and laurel, along with the rest of the boys. conrad stands up first, in a heartbeat. he walks over, almost lifting y/n off the ground in a hug.
“hey! happy birthday!” he tells her, excitedly as he pulls away. jeremiah comes piling in next, saying his words to the person he considers a sister.
“didn’t y/m/n have anything planned?” susannah asked from the pure kindness in her heart.
“oh,” y/n mutters. “we, uh, we did something yesterday.”
conrad can tell when y/n lies. he can read her like a book at this point. he’s spent so long fanboying over her that he knows what she’s feeling. when she’s sad, excited, pissed, he knows. it pulls at his heart when he can sense the disappointment in her voice. he starts to get more alarmed with every drink she takes throughout the day. she’s not even a big drinker, never really taking an offer. now he’s positive somethings wrong.
if y/n’s parents didn’t care about her, they don’t care if she drinks, right? she’s with her friends, she’s allowed to. plus. it’ll take the edge off of the internal wounds her parents have left her with. her feelings on the whole matter start to disintegrate for a while, until belly’s cake comes out and is handed to her. it’s so nicely done, perfect detail and so much love. they put time into her cake and party, and y/n can’t help the jealousy rising up. she vividly remembers every one of her younger siblings birthdays. all of them having their friends and a party, while y/n was just locked in her room on her birthday. the presents and the cheesy grins from everyone were overwhelming every year. she couldn’t help but think about what it could be like with her real family. maybe they could love her as much as she deserves, but in reality, they won’t. they can, but they chose not to, which hurts even more.
y/n stumbles around on the balcony, around people while carefully savoring every last drop of whatever is in her can. she’s probably had too many, but she doesn’t care. it’s almost like it’s reversed itself now. she watches belly open all of her presents and receive hugs and kisses, and the lump in her throat becomes thicker. she thinks of the alcohol as her enemy now, just bringing back the thoughts in her sober mind.
it’s not until everyone hears the clicking of y/n’s heels on the pavement that they notice her walking away. her hand is swiping away the loose tears and everyone looks at conrad. if there’s anyone y/n wants to see, it’s him. they’ve been in love for so long, it’s almost painful to watch. as she walks away, blurry vision from the alcohol and the tears, she tries to grab another can from the box before a hand stops her.
“i don’t think that’s a good idea,” conrad says, gently taking it out of her hand and landing it back in the box.
“oh, great. more fuckin’ judgment,” she retorts, making conrad’s face contort.
“hey, what’s going on? you’ve been off all day.”
“i am, perfectly fine,” y/n slurs. conrad places a hand on her shoulder, and takes them to sit on the steps. his arm is wrapped around her, the other one gripping her hand.
“i know you’re not. it’s ok to not be ok,” he looks at her nose scrunch and her cheeks turn red again. “hey, hey, don’t cry, you’re alright.”
“no,” she weeps out, putting her head in her hands. “i’m a mess! i don’t know what to do, i cant make it any better and i’ve been trying for 14 fucking years!”
“hold on,” he keeps his voice low. “what do you mean?”
“my parents don’t give a shit. they haven’t since y/b/n was born and they didn’t even bother about me anymore,” conrad pulls her into his arms, leaning back as her teardrops soak into his shirt. “i didn’t do anything for this, and belly’s being loved unconditionally without having to fight for it. and i feel like a bitch getting upset over it but-“
“absolutely not. don’t say that ever again. you don’t deserve anything they’re giving you. anything they’ve said to you is a fucking lie. i know who you are. you’re the most perfect, beautiful person i’ve ever met, inside and out. you don’t have to prove anything to them, because they don’t deserve your amazingness,” he speaks to her. it’s nothing but the truth, and nothing he would ever hesitate to say. “and i will spend forever trying to prove to you that you’re nothing but beautiful a beautiful person.”
y/n looks up at him, only bursting into more tears as he laughs a bit. “oh, my god, conrad. i love you, so much. i know i’m drunk but i mean it more than anything.” she’s felt nothing like she does now. she’s never had someone accept her so quickly and with so much appreciation. she feels like she can do nothing but cry and just love on him.
“i’m glad,” he begins again. “because i love you, too. no matter what your parents say or do. they don’t define you.”
and in this moment, for the first time in a long time, y/n knows someone loves her. and he’s not just saying it for comfort. she doesn’t need her parents to be loved. if they can’t do that, there will forever be someone out there who loves her just as much. she knows she’s enough, and that’s enough.

Forgive and Forget
Dean Winchester & daughter!reader
Requested by Anonymous
Synopsis: Dean says something he shouldn’t to you, and now he has to make up for it.
“I’m going to my room.”
“Hold on!” Your dad’s hand gripped your shoulder, and your retreat was halted. “You’re not gonna just ignore what happened.”
“Really? Because I was planning on doing just that,” you huffed, pulling your arm from Dean’s hand.
“Y/N, sit down.”
There was no arguing with your father when he used that tone. With as much attitude as you thought you could get away with, you yanked out a chair and plopped down on it, crossing your arms and staring up at your father.
“You deliberately disobeyed my orders!” Dean thundered. “You could’ve gotten killed! What were you thinking?”
“I was thinking that you needed help!”
“Help? Help what, getting you killed?” Dean scoffed.
You grit your teeth.
“If you didn’t think I could help, why was I there?”
“It’s not like there’s anything else I can do with you!”
Your mouth was half-open for a retort when his words really hit you.
He didn’t want you there.
He thought you were useless. Helpless, even.
“You almost got killed!”
“It’s not like there’s anything else I can do with you!”
He brought you along—heck, maybe he only kept you—because he had no choice. You weren’t wanted, and you never had been.
When your mom had kicked you out, you’d seen it coming—she never even pretended to want you.
But Dean did.
You didn’t give your dad a chance to see how his words affected you. You jumped up from the chair and sidestepped him, almost running to your room despite his protests.
…
Dean was screwed. He knew it the moment the words had left his lips, but he hadn’t been able to stop you from leaving. He tried to go after you, but Sam stopped him—Dean hadn’t even known Sam was listening.
“Don’t,” Sam said, grabbing Dean’s arm. “That…she’s gonna need a little bit after that.”
“I didn’t mean it,” Dean said.
“I know you didn’t.”
“You know how I get when she…”
Sam was patient. “I know. But she doesn’t. You’re gonna have to make up for this one.”
…
Dean was trying to make up for it, he really was. He’d brought food to your room every night, since you refused to come out, but you left it untouched every time. He’d tried apologies through your closed door, notes slid under your door, little gifts—he’d even offered to let you drive Baby.
Nothing was working, and Dean was running out of options.
…
“You’re gonna have to talk to him again at some point,” Sam said.
You had joined your uncle on a run that morning, trying to spend as much time out of the bunker as possible so your dad couldn’t track you down.
“I’m not gonna make him talk to me,” you huffed, speeding up just to spite Sam. It didn’t work, and with his insanely long legs, he matched your pace easily.
“Make him? Have you not seen him this past week? Dean’s doing everything he can to get one minute of time with you.”
“He’s just doing that because he feels bad.” Your attempt to remain stoic throughout this conversation was getting harder as your words hit you. You’d been thinking these things for a week, but saying them out loud felt different.
“Hey.” Sam slowed to a stop, and his hand on your arm had you stopping right beside him. “Come on, that’s not true.”
“He didn’t want me on that hunt, and he doesn’t want me here.” You wish you could say that your face was only glistening with sweat. “But there’s nowhere else he can put me, so here I am. I’m not gonna make this any harder for him.”
“Where are you getting all of this?” Sam asked, his brows drawn together in concern.
“Dad said—“
“Your dad said something stupid after a bad hunt.” Sam sighed. “That doesn’t mean he doesn’t want you. If I believed everything my dad said to me after a bad hunt…” Sam shook his head. “That doesn’t matter. Point is, Dean didn’t mean that he doesn’t want you here. I’ve never seen him happier than he’s been since you moved in. But I do know that he didn’t want you on that hunt. He knew it’d be dangerous, and…” Sam leaned down to stare into your eyes, making sure he had your full attention. “Look, your dad should be the one telling you this, but I’m gonna do it anyway. He doesn’t want you on hunts because he doesn’t want you in danger, because he doesn’t know what he’d do if something happened to you. Neither do I.”
The tears were flowing freely now, and you didn’t try to stop them.
“How do I know you’re right?” You sniffled.
“You just gotta trust me. And trust your dad.”
“That’s—that’s not—“ you took a deep breath, trying not to choke on your tears. “That’s not easy for me.”
“Hey…” Sam pulled you into his arms, his hold secure. “I know it isn’t. And I know what you’ve been through. But me and your dad, we’re not like that. We’re your family, your real family. Your mom, she didn’t earn that. But we—me and your dad—we’re trying to earn it.”
Your grip tightened on your uncle.
“You did—you have,” you assured him.
“Ok then.” Sam was grinning when he pulled away. “You’re our family too, kid. And that’s more than just blood. We’d do anything for you, and don’t you ever doubt it.”
You and Sam were silent on the way back to the bunker, and when you reached it Sam retreated to his room after looking at you and nodding towards Dean.
Dean jumped to his feet when he saw you, and he seemed pleasantly surprised when you didn’t try to escape to your room.
“Hey,” Dean said once you were alone. “I…how’ve you been?”
“I’m…” you sighed. “I’ve been a jerk.”
Dean chuckled, relaxing slightly.
“I don’t know about that. I mean, I deserved it.”
“You didn’t.” You couldn’t meet your dad’s eye as you spoke. “I-I should’ve known you didn’t mean it, I just…after my mom…”
“I never should’ve said that to you. I didn’t mean it,” Dean said. “I want you here. Always. I don’t know what I’d do without you, that’s why…I guess that’s why I got so scared.” Dean’s gentle hand on your chin had you finally meeting his eye. “I need you to know that I love you. I need you to know how much I love you.”
You all but jumped into your dad’s arms, and he accepted the hug willingly.
“I do know,” you said. “I love you too.”
Dean smiled. “So, we’re good?”
“I don’t know…” you sighed. “I might need another week or so of you sucking up.”
Dean scoffed. “Oh, now you’re just being a brat.”
You squealed when Dean started pinching your sides, giggling as you tried to escape his hold.
“Nuh uh, you’re not getting away that easily.” Dean laughed. “I’ve spent a whole week trying to get close to you, I’m not letting go now.”
“Da-had, stop it!” You laughed, and after one last dig into your side, Dean finally relented.
“Alright, squirt.” Dean grinned. “Let’s go for a drive, get some food.”
“You sure you want me to be there?” You asked. Dean turned suddenly, looking at you with alarm. That is, until he saw the grin on your face.
“Alright, you little smart mouth.” Dean rolled his eyes. “Get in the car.”
You laughed.
“Yes sir.”

The Clarity
The final part of my Meeting the Parents series! You can start from the beginning here, and read the final part below or on ao3. Each part can be read separately, but it makes more sense if you read them all.
They had just made it out of The Gables and onto paved road when Buck couldn't stay silent any longer. He had been staring down at the photo album, listening to Tommy sniff and suck in breaths every now and then. And judging by the fact he was occasionally swerving slightly off the road, it was easy to assume his eyes were blurred with tears.
“Tommy,” he started, his voice soft yet assertive, “you need to pull over.”
Tommy sniffed again. His grip on the wheel tightened. “No, I'm okay.”
There was no way he could drive all the way home like this, and no way that Buck was going to let him. “Tommy,” he repeated. He looked over at him, noted the red-rimmed eyes and his trembling lip. Buck reached out and touched his shoulder, stroking his thumb back and forth over the muscle. “Babe, pull over.”
Buck wasn't sure if it was the touch, or the pet name, but the dam Tommy had been building up burst. He pulled over to the side of the road just as the tears started to fall.
He leaned forward, shoulders shaking. He rested his hands and head against the steering wheel.
The photo album was quickly dropped to the floorboard. Buck unbuckled and raised the center console so he could scoot into the middle seat and wrap himself around Tommy. It was an awkward angle, but one arm wrapped around his waist, while the other rubbed up and down his back. He laid his head against Tommy's shoulder and held him.
They were like that for awhile. Silent except for the occasional gasp of breath from Tommy. Buck didn't try to stop him, didn't try to silence his cries. He just maintained his hold, and wished more than anything he could go back to the Kinard's place and knock Frank out.
It took a few minutes for Tommy's breathing to return to normal. Buck moved away just enough for him to sit up, but kept a hand on his back.
“I don't know why I'm crying,” Tommy admitted, pressing his palms against his eyes. “I'm not even sad, I'm angry.”
“That's understandable. He- He's an easy man to get angry at.”
“I don't even think it's him I'm angry at. It's me.”
Buck's eyebrows furrowed. “You? Why would you be mad at yourself?”
Another wipe of the eyes and Tommy turned to Buck, who looked all kinds of concerned. “I should have known better, Evan,” he said. “I led you in there blind, and I... I should have known better.”
“You told me they were unpredictable.” Buck shrugged. “You weren't wrong.”
“The last few times I've gone, Dad's been mostly silent. Even when mom threw that frying pan at his head, it wasn't because of anything he said, it was because he kept trying to stumble toward her and tickle her. I thought,” he let out a humorless laugh, “I thought if I brought you with me, showed them how good we are together, they'd be happy for me. For us.”
There were so many things Buck wanted to say, but none of them sounded right. None of them would fix anything.
Instead of I'm sorry or you know I love you, right the thing that came out of Buck's mouth was, “Let's get a motel.”
Tommy blinked once, twice, three times at him. “What?”
“Let's get a motel,” he repeated. “We don't have work tomorrow. Let's be spontaneous, drive to the nearest motel, do some sightseeing in the morning.”
“There's not really much to see here.”
“Oh, I'm sure there is. All the crappy motels have those stands with the brochures. We'll close our eyes and pick something.” Buck leaned forward and pressed a kiss to the side of Tommy's mouth before moving back to his seat. “You want me to drive?”
Tommy, still trying to figure out what was happening, stared out the windshield at the vast amount of nothingness around them. “We don't have any stuff.”
“Please, we have emergency bags in both cars. Clothes, toiletries, first aid kits, whatever we need is back there.”
That was true. Seeing as they were both a bit disaster prone, they had started leaving a duffel for each of them in both vehicles. Whether it was a natural disaster, or manmade, they'd be prepared.
Still, Tommy had questions. “Why are we doing this?”
Buck reached out, wrapped his hand around Tommy's wrist, giving him a pleading look. “Does sitting at home for the rest of the afternoon sound intriguing to you? It'll be fun, Tommy. We'll be like cowboys on the run.”
*****
Cowboys on the run turned into a thirty minute drive toward an overpriced stay at a lackluster motel just off the highway named Frederico's Sleep n' More. “I don't even wanna know what the more stands for,” Tommy mumbled when they walked into the room.
Evan had intended to use the restroom and return to Tommy all perky and ready for whatever adventure awaited them in whatever town they were in now. But as soon as he stepped out of the bathroom he was met with Tommy lying on top of the bed, feet dangling off the edge, not asleep but eyes closed. He looked relaxed, which was a relief, but Buck couldn't help the sadness that overcame him at the sight. This man who drove three hours just to help his parents out for the day being treated like garbage. Almost worse actually, because garbage once served a purpose, and it seemed to them that Tommy never did.
Buck walked to the bed, toeing off his shoes before gently letting his body dip beside Tommy.
Tommy, eyes still closed, laid out his arm. A silent ask for Buck to curl up beside him.
He never had to be asked twice.
Once Buck was tucked into Tommy's side, head resting on his chest, Tommy folded his arm over him. The soft scratches up and down his back had Buck closing his own eyes, humming out a sigh of contentment.
“Can I ask you a weird question?” Buck asked. He rested a hand over Tommy's pec, and Tommy brought his free one up to wrap around it.
“Always.”
“Did- When you got hurt, did your mom or dad ever get you things? Like, to try and make you feel better?”
Tommy didn't even have to think about it. “No. My mom would get me a couple things for my birthday and Christmas, usually clothes. And the only thing I remember my dad ever buying me was a football when I was like ten, I think. He got pissed when I accidentally broke our window on a throw, so I didn't mess with it much after that. I did have to do a lot of odd jobs around the neighborhood to earn money for the new window though.”
“Did he...” Buck hesitated, and Tommy squeezed his hand.
“You can ask anything,” Tommy assured him.
“Your mom said he'd hit you sometimes, like when you'd get into trouble. Did he then?”
Tommy stiffened for a moment, and Buck almost regretted asking. “Yeah, he did. The belt was his favorite form of discipline.”
Buck sat up on his elbow so he could look at Tommy. “Even though it was an accident?” He couldn't imagine getting hit as a child, or hitting a child, regardless of whether the act was intentional or incidental.
Tommy squinted his eyes open just enough to see Evan. “Dad always said the best way to never make the same mistake twice was to remember the pain from the first time.”
Buck didn't even know what to say. No matter how distant and neglectful his parents might have been, he was never afraid of them. Never had to worry about being hit. He laid back on the bed, tugging Tommy over to him. They settled into their new positions, Buck with his arms wrapped around Tommy, Tommy with his head on Buck's chest and an arm draped over his waist.
“Do you remember that double wide across the street?” Tommy asked.
“Mhm.”
“Mrs. Thompson lived there when I was growing up. She had three kids, all girls and they were a few years older than me, but she liked me. She'd let me come over and do my homework at her dining room table. Her yard had grass and she'd let me play out back whenever I wanted. And when my dad would get really pissed at me, she'd let me hide out at her place until I saw the light turn off in my parents bedroom. That's how I'd know they were asleep, and I'd sneak back in my own bedroom window.”
“Did you ever get caught?”
“No. I'm sure they knew, but they never bothered to act like they cared. My dad did come to Mrs. Thompson's house a couple times looking for me, but she'd always say she hadn't seen me. She'd also tell him to get off her property because his breath was gonna stink up her whole house." Tommy snorted at the memory.
“She sounds like a good woman.”
“Mhm,” Tommy hummed, “she was. I used to pretend I was her kid. I'd say my name was Tommy Thompson. Thought it sounded better than Kinard. I swore that one day I'd grow up and have a home just like hers. Her girls were always happy, they all laughed together. Her husband worked a lot, but he was nice too. He played guitar and he'd let me sit with his girls and listen while Mrs. Thompson cooked dinner. Their house always smelled so good and clean. I- I wanted that so bad.”
“What happened to them?”
“Mr. Thompson died from a heart attack when I was about thirteen. That was rough, but Mrs. Thompson was so strong through all of it. She died while I was in Iraq; I didn't find out until after I got home. I was devastated. I'm not sure about their daughters.”
“They sounded like wonderful people,” Buck said. “I would have loved to meet them.”
“They would have loved you,” Tommy replied. He was sure of it too. “Anyone with half a brain would love you.”
Buck laughed at that, beginning to run his fingers through Tommy's hair.
The conversation died down there. Tommy never stayed awake very long when his head was getting rubbed. A couple of minutes and he was out like a light.
Buck couldn't sleep though. His heart still ached for Tommy, both present and past.
He was once a boy in desperate need of love. A mom to hug him, a dad to teach him. He didn't get either of those things.
He was a burden. That's all. A burden that neither parent ever really wanted in the first place. A mouth they had to feed, a body they had to clothe, a soul they had to provide for.
He was once a teenager, quiet and reserved. Too smart for his own good. Never congratulated for his accomplishments, never told he'd done a good job. Never guided down a path, but forced in one direction when he didn't make the right choices at seventeen years old.
He was once man who had resigned himself to never having love. Cut himself off to happiness and let anger and hatred bubble up inside of him. Pushed people away because the people he always cared about either didn't care about him or they left him somehow, even if they didn't mean to.
And now he was a man that, despite all of that, held endless love in his own heart. Who Jee called the “best hug giver”, much to Buck's dismay. Who would do anything for his friends, risking his own life without a second thought. Who calmed children at the scene of a four alarm fire when they didn't know if their mom had made it, and stayed with them until they'd all been reunited. Who stayed up all night when Buck was sick with the flu because the only thing that helped his nausea was for his back to be rubbed.
And everything started to make sense. It was clear why Tommy clung to the Buckley's the way he did. Why he was always ready and willing to hop on a helicopter to take Phillip to a game, or make sure Margaret was in town on one specific weekend to go to Carrizo Plain and look at the wildflowers. It made sense that he happily and quickly accepted that the Buckley's were trying, were actually making an effort to be there for their children now, even if was a bit late.
Late was better than never, and Buck had a feeling Tommy's own parents would never be making the effort that his own were.
It didn't make Buck magically forget his own turbulent past with his mom and dad. He'd still feel that twinge of jealousy when they'd laugh a little harder at Tommy's jokes, or listen to his stories a bit more intently. He'd still get a little annoyed at Tommy when he didn't notice.
But he did understand it now, which had been half the battle to begin with.
Carefully, as not to wake Tommy, he pulled his phone out of his pocket and began to do some research.
*****
Nearly two hours passed before Tommy started to stir. He lifted his head, glaring around the room in confusion until he remembered where he was at. He shifted so he could look at Buck, who was smiling at him softly. Buck loved how Tommy looked when he first woke up. His hair a curly mess, a little drool on his lips, eyelashes fluttering with every blink. And that rough voice when he'd first speak.
“Hi.”
Yeah. Just like that.
“Hi yourself. Get some good rest?”
Tommy nodded, pushing himself off of Buck but remaining by his side. “Mhm.” He rubbed his eyes, and did a little yawn as he stretched. “D'you sleep?”
“No. Had too much fun watching you.”
Buck was pleased by the smile that washed over Tommy's face. “M'hungry,” he said, rubbing a hand over his stomach.
Buck laughed. “Go freshen up and we'll find someplace for dinner.”
Tommy leaned over, a bringing his fingers just under Buck's chin, and pulled him in for a kiss.
“Mm,” Buck moaned cheerfully as they parted. “What was that for?”
“Just love you.”
“I love you too.”
With one final kiss, Tommy got up and headed for the bathroom.
Buck took a screenshot of the website he had up on his phone. A reminder for himself to talk to Tommy about it during dinner. During his research, he'd found they were having a tulip festival outside of Los Angeles in a few weeks, and Buck was sure his mom would like to go.

JJK: The Body-Snatcher's Daughter [PLATONIC YANDERE] [FEMALE READER] [PART 1]
Summary: [Name] [Surname] had always been aware of her power, but she never acted upon it or embraced it. She lived her life as a typical teenage girl, going to school, hanging out with friends, and even looking for a part-time job to earn extra money. However, for the past few weeks, she had been feeling as though someone was watching her, and she had caught sight of a familiar face in the crowd. What will happen when she encounters that face during a lunch outing on a Saturday afternoon?
Broken: I don't know everything about Jujutsu Kaisen, so please bear with me.
[Tokyo - Kawasaki City: The [Surname] Estate]
"Here is your allowance." [Name's] Father called out to his daughter before she headed out the door, holding some bills out to her. She looked at the bills before looking into her father's eyes.
"Dad, I have a part-time job and I already got paid yesterday. I don't need an allowance anymore." [Name] explained to her father as she adjusted her satchel around her shoulder.
"I know you have a part-time job, but, I think it would be best if you had a little bit of extra spending money for your outings. After all, you never know if you might see something you want or run into your friends & you decide to treat them to lunch or shopping." Her father smiled at her, causing [Name] to exhale before taking the money, pulling her wallet out of her satchel, placing the additional money inside, and returning it to her satchel before looking at her father's face; he knew what he was doing when he smiled like that, he knew that she couldn't resist his requests when he smiled like that.
"You can be very manipulative when you want to be, Dad." [Name] exhaled, causing her father to chuckle at his daughter's words.
"Only for the best reasons, My Black Pearl." [Name's] Father smiled before his face turned serious before peering into his daughter's black eyes from behind his glasses, "Can you feel anything nearby?"
"No, sir. I'm not picking up on any strange auras today. There are some weaker ones in the city, but none of them are hostile at the moment. I think it will be safe for me to head out." [Name] explained with a serious glare.
"Are you currently repressing your aura?" Her Father asked her, causing his daughter to nod.
"Yes. I've been keeping it repressed for about 3 Days; my aura is constantly getting stronger but I have been able to hide the signature it radiates. No one is going to attack me... Again." [Name] said while looking at the ground before exhaling and turning back to face her father, "Did you hear from Mom, yet?"
"Your Mother is going to be returning in a week; you know how serious she is with her work, but she did swear that she was going to be back in time for your birthday." Her Father smiled.
"She really works too hard... I wish she would take a break sometimes." [Name] exhaled but her father waved her off with a smile on his face, dismissing her concern.
"I've been trying to convince her since we got married...so that's not gonna happen anytime soon." Her Father smiled.
"True..." [Name] turned on her heel and walked towards the door, "See you later, Dad. I have my phone and power bank on me. Call me if you need anything.".
"Have fun, Dear." He called out as she opened the door, stepped outside, and closed it behind her before going to complete his own work.
As [Name] knew that her father had returned to his office to finish his work, she pulled out the key from her pocket and locked the door. Her family lived in the forest, about 5 miles away from the city. The wall surrounding her family's estate and the tall trees of the forest that surrounded her childhood home, greeted her as she turned around. To reach the city, [Name] had to take the bus. Fortunately, there was a bus stop right outside the path that led to the main road.
[Name] placed her hands in her pockets before walking out of the estate, through the forest via the stone path, and to the bus stop before sitting down on the stone bench as before pulled her phone out of her pocket, and scrolled through it mindlessly as she waited for the bus to arrive.
That's when a familiar ping went through her mind, causing her to look up from her phone and start looking around her; she could feel that someone was watching her, but all she could see was the forest, bushes, and road. A frown came to her face as her keen ears picked up on the sound of the bus coming. She looked around one more time before reaching into her jacket pocket to retrieve her bus card just as the massive form of transportation stopped in front of her, and opened its doors to allow her on. She entered the bus, paid for her trip, and sat in the first free seat she could find; unable to shake the feeling that someone was watching her.
[Location Change: Kawasaki City]
The sound of multiple shoes hitting the concrete sidewalks combined with the rolling tires on the main road filled [Name's] ears as she walked down the sidewalk with her black eyes forward and her hands secured in the pockets of her jacket; it was a rather chilly afternoon, regardless of the high-noon sun.
Thanks to her mindless scrolling, she learned that the nearby Tech Shop was making a bundle deal with some of their more desired parts with a 50% discount with the purchase of 30,845 Yen ($200 - If my math is correct) or more; she has been meaning to update her drawing tablet and computer for a while now, no time like the present.
[Name] headed to the Tech Shop and flagged down an employee to aid her; she was looking for new equipment and the bundle mentioned. She ended up spending over 77,113 Yen ($500 - Once again, if my math is correct) as she picked her new tablet in her satchel; making sure to purchase a 3-Year Protection Plan on all her parts. She walked out of the shop and pulled out her wallet, she noticed she had 3084.53 Yen ($20) to spend on lunch and decided to get something quick. She noticed her favorite burger place was across the street and used the crosswalk to cross the street, but that feeling had returned: Someone was watching her. She pretended not to notice and started scanning the crowd for anyone who seemed out of place to her when her eyes landed on something...familiar.
A man was standing on the other side of the street, dressed in a black suit with a high collar. His hair was long and black with a high bun in the back; the only thing that seemed out of place to him was the scar going across his forehead, it reminded her of stitching for some reason.
What's more: This man was looking at her and she confirmed this when the smirk on his face grew the moment their eyes met; he wanted her to know that he was watching her. She narrowed her eyes at him before turning her gaze to look ahead as she made it to the other end of the street and turn away from him to head into the burger place.
[Name] placed her order and paid the cashier for a simple large cheeseburger meal with a [Favorite Drink] with 3 cookies on the side. The cashier gave her a receipt and she stood off to the side until her number was called. She took her food and walked to a nearby booth with 2 seats that were out of the way since everywhere else was taken; it was lunch hour after all. She unwrapped her burger and was about to take about bite when a voice called out to her from directly in front of her.
"That looks delicious."
[Name's] Black Eyes looked away from her burger and locked eyes with him - the man who was watching her earlier and it was that same feeling; she had been feeling it for a week.
"Can I help you with something?" [Name] asked in a calm but clearly annoyed voice.
"Yes. You can stop suppressing your power from me; it's getting rather hard to find you since you are getting so good at concealing your Cursed Energy from me." The man said, his head resting on the fist he had against his cheek while that arm's elbow was resting on the table.
"Cursed Energy? What the hell are you talking about?" [Name] asked with a raised eyebrow but the man chuckled at her words.
"I'm sure you don't know what it's called, but I know that you are aware of your power; you have so much of it and you've become adapted to concealing it to prevent people like me from finding you. However, I know you can feel it; you know who I am... Don't you, [Name]?" He asked with a smile on his face and a 'tender' look in his eyes.
"You're the one who has been following me for weeks." [Name] answered and, once again, he smiled at her with a chuckle.
"Able to detect my Cursed Energy from everyone else's already? You're more advanced than I thought you would be at this age. Then again... I shouldn't expect anything less from my own daughter." He said, making [Name's] eyes get wide.
"What did you say?" [Name] hissed out.
"You heard me. How else would I know your name and this is the first time we talked?" He questioned with a head tilt before stating, "I'm the one who named you."
"Just... Just who the hell are you?" [Name] questioned, trying to keep her calm and not draw attention to herself.
"I am the JuJitsu Sorcerer, Kenjaku. In your case, I am your 3rd Parent. You can call me 'Father' if you want." He smiled at her, expecting her to freak out and ask him questions.
She was silent for a moment before she spoke, "Are you on drugs or something?"
"Pardon?" Kenjaku asked with wide eyes, surprised at what she just said," I don't think that's how you should speak to your own father, [Name]." Kenjaku said.
"Yeah. You're on drugs." With that, [Name] rewrapped her burger and walked over to the counter, got a takeout bag, and placed her food inside before taking her drink and leaving the burger place; leaving a very shocked JuJitsu Sorcerer sitting at the table.
"Kids these days... No respect for their elders." Kenjaku said before standing up and leaving as well, but he couldn't find [Name] anywhere, "She's fast."

Episode seven

'Text': Saiki thinking
Previous episode
ATTENTION! You might want to rewatch episode seven of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K before reading to fully understand the events.
Summary: Episode 7 in L/N Y/N's perspective.
“He is so cute!” “Come here kitty!”
“He’s so cute, I wish I could go say hi but I don’t want to overwhelm that cat,” Y/N paused for a moment to speak but when they noticed Saiki didn’t stop they rushed to catch up with him.
Saiki suddenly stopped for a moment but then returned to Y/N’s side. Y/N was confused when the heard meowing and was even more confused when Saiki turned around to go towards it.
Y/N didn’t know what was going on between Saiki and the cat, but Saiki clearly didn’t care for what the cat was saying so he kept walking. After a couple more meows Saiki turned back and stood in front of the cat stuck between two buildings.
Y/N kept looking between Saiki and the stuck cat, clearly missing the telepathic conversation. However based on the cat’s movements the Saiki clearly had the upper hand.
Saiki was repeatedly backing in and out of the cat’s view, Y/N could only guess that the cat was say thing something that Kusuo didn’t like. After a quite smug look from the cat Saiki walked off.
“Hey, slow down! Seriously would helping that cat really be so bad?” Y/N asked as they grabbed Saiki’s arm. Kusuo just rolled his eyes and turned back to the cat.
Y/N looked between the cat and Saiki again, it was clear they were in a telepathic conversation but Y/N couldn’t tell if they were purposely left out of it or not.
“Why does he look so smug? Is he getting the upper hand?”
“Not even close.” Saiki replied, and again walked away.
After more angry meowing from the cat, Saiki and Y/N again turned back to the cat. As Saiki continued threatening to leave the cat became more and more dejected before Saiki suddenly broke the building that was holding the cat in place.
With the cat free Y/N and Saiki continued on their path home without further disturbances. However that wasn’t the last time Saiki and Y/N saw the cat.
The second cat interaction came when Mr Saiki came home.
“Hey I’m home.”
“Welcome back honey! Your dinners already on the table.”
“Oh. Great.”
“What’s with your belly?” Ms Saiki pointed out, Kuniharu clearly stuffed something in his shirt that he wanted to do hide.
“What are you hiding?! Take it out!” “It’s nothing leave me alone!” “It’s something dirty like an adult magazine” the set of parents wrestled to reveal what was under Kuniharu’s shirt.
“It’s a cat?! Aw so cute! Where did you find this little fur ball?”
“He was in front of our house so I just, well… can we keep him? I promise I’ll take cate of him!”
“That’s the same cat you helped earlier today right Kusuo?” Y/N asked as they paused eating their dinner to watch Saiki’s parents briefly argue.
“Yes. Yes it is.” Saiki replied, less than amused.
“Honey I’m sorry, but I’m allergic to cats remember.”
“Oh, then I can take the cat out. Go sit and eat dinner dad.” Y/N said as they got up and picked up the cat.
The cat didn’t put up much of a fuss in Y/N’s arms and allowed Y/N to take them out.
“Nice try buddy.” Y/N told the cat as they gave them a quick pat, sat them down, and walked into their own home.
—————————————————————————
“You know, the Christmas lights are pretty nice. A little much in some places but still charming. I don’t think anything could compare to your house though.” Y/N teased Saiki.
“I don’t think we’ve seen anything that even comes close to mom and dad’s decorating.” Saiki smiled back at Y/N’s tease.
“It’s like this every year at my house… I have a bad feeling,” Saiki paused his light hearted conversation when he grabbed onto his front door handle.
“How bad can it really be?” Y/N asked.
“Oh welcome home Ku!” “Hey Buddy!”
As soon as he saw his mom and Nendo Saiki slammed the door and locked it.
“Over reaction much?” Y/N asked Saiki.
“Nope.” Saiki replied coldly.
“Come on, let’s just go in, surely it won’t be too bad,” Y/N said as they tugged Saiki inside.
“I ran into your best friend while I was at the store so I invited him.” Kusuo’s mom told him.
‘I thought I was your best friend.’ Y/N elbowed Saiki, while they teased him internally.
“When it comes to parties, the more the merrier right?”
‘Someone please end my misery.’
“I’m back! Merry Christmas! Santa’s here with presents!” Kuniharu come through the front door wearing his Santa costume to a awe struck Nendo.
“I thought this was supposed to be just family. Now I lol like a fool. Who’s that guy?” Kuniharu whispered to his wife.
“That’s because you are.” Saiki said under his breath.
“He’s Ku’s friend Nendo.”
“Kusuo has a friend?! Oh dear!” Kuniharu cried.
“What am I? Chopped liver?” Y/N said a little offended. Saiki elbowed them and gave them a small smile, mimicking what Y/N did earlier. This seemed to placate them for now.
“But how? Kusuo is such a cold jerk. If I went to school with him and he didn’t have powers, I’d punch him in the face.” Saiki’s dad stated.
“Wow, thanks dad.” Y/N had to take a few shakey deep breaths to avoid laughing out loud.
“Hello Nendo! I’m Kusuo’s dad, Kuniharu. I’ve heard so much our you.”
“You talk about Nendo at home???” Y/N asked very confused. “Not even once.” Saiki said and shakes his head.
“It’s so nice to finally meet you, Mr Kusuo’s dad.”
‘He seems like a thug.’ Kuniharu thought.
‘I’m I the only one that didn’t like that he called you Kusuo?’ Y/N asked, trying to place how they felt about it.
‘I hated it.’ Saiki thought back to Y/N plainly.
“Is he really Kusuo’s friend? He seems more like the dumb bulky type.”
“He’s a good kid!” The set of patents whispered to each other.
‘I thought that too when I first meet Nendo,’ Y/N thought.
“This is a great costume. I thought you were really Santa.” Nendo commented.
“What? Oh, thanks kid.” Kuniharu replied bashfully.
‘Now you like him?’ Kusuo thought confused.
“Merry Christmas!” Saiki’s parents and Nendo clinked their glasses while Y/N and Saiki clinked each others off to the side.
“Well Nendo. I get the feeling you’re just a big kid under all that beef.”
‘You’re acting like host family for a foreign exchange student.’
“Before Kusuo was even one, he was already treating his old man like something he found in his diaper.”
“You should have taken that hint.” Saiki said and Y/N snickered.
“Ya I can tell by the way you listen to me that you’re a good kid.”
“Oh, I don’t know if I’m that good sir. When I was little Santa never visited my house.”
“No way! But why would your dad deprive you like that.”
Y/N was suddenly glad Saiki’s dad never asked them these questions.
“Oh my dad’s dead. He passes away before I was even born.” Nendo said plainly.
“What?!” “I had no idea Nendo.”
“I’m sorry my husband said that.”
“Why? Doesn’t bother me. I still got my mom. And I’d rather have her than Santa once a year.”
“I see. Uhm, would you please excuse us.”
“You three keep eating!”
“That’s odd. Anyway, it’s pretty cool your dad still comes home in a Santa costume every Christmas.”
“Ya, it makes me smile every year. It’s quite the sweet tradition.” Y/N reminisced.
“I’m back. Sorry for stepping out.” Saiki’s mom said as she came back into the room.
“No prob! Where’s my buddy’s dad?”
“He had to leave for a work thing. Something about clients needing their shoes licked. Anyway let’s eat.”
‘I can guarantee that excuse only works in this house hold.’ Y/N thought since Nendo made no comment over the remark.
The conversation was cut short as Kuniharu tried to open the locked screen door, once again dressed as Santa Claus.
“AH! OH NO! There’s a man dressed like Santa trying to break in!”
“Oh my!” Saiki’s mom exclaimed.
“I told you to unlock it for me.” “I’m sorry but I don’t think you’d be so fast getting to the door!” Saiki’s parents whispered to eachother.
“They’re so sloppy,” Saiki told Y/N, and they gave him a smile and rolled their eyes.
“Hey Nendo, I’m Santa Claus it’s nice to meet you!”
‘That’s worse than expected. Pulling the same stunt twice is bound to fail, even Nendo will notice.’
“THE REAL SANTA CLAUS IS HERE!” Nendo freaked out.
‘Then again, this is Nendo we’re talking about.’
“I can’t believe it! I’d be honored to share your hand!”
“Oh of course!” Kuniharu said with a Santa impression.
‘He’s getting carried away,’ Saiki thought to Y/N. ‘Maybe so, but he’s trying to do a good thing, let him be,” Y/N said as they leaned on Saiki.
“Oh! I just remembered that you fly around with reindeer! I’ve always wanted to see a reindeer in person!”
“Uh okay, they’re just outside on the lawn. Go look!”
‘Now that’s quite the promise.’ Y/N laughed lightly.
“Ku please! It’s Christmas! Be giving!”
By the sound of Nendo’s screeching, Kusuo somehow made a reindeer appear.
“Here Nendo, it’s for you.” Kuniharu gave Nendo a gift from his sack.
“A present?”
‘Isn’t that my present?’
“Ya! That’s two presents!”
“What? You have two gifts? I thought you said you’ve never gotten one before.”
“Ya, nothing from Santa. But I still get one from my mom. Every year while I’m asleep she comes in and puts a present right next to my pillow. I wonder why she doesn’t just give it to me herself, aw well,” Nendo chuckled.
“Your mom is a saint.”
—————————————————————————
“It’s so crowded.”
“Well it is New Year’s Day. What do you expect?”
“I expect to go home and enjoy the day in peace.”
“Oh come on, it’s one quick thing then we can go to my house and chill out. Don’t be such a Debby downer Kusuo.” Y/N told Saiki.
“I wish for another happy year with you.”
“Awe no, why are you doing your New Years prayer to me?”
“Oh but Kurumi don’t you see? The goddess I pray to is you.”
‘He gets so smug when he charms her.’ Saiki thought a little annoyed.
‘I guess so, but I think it’s kinda sweet.’
Y/N stood next it Kurumi and Saiki and his dad went to pray.
“Oh hey there Saiki! What a twist of fate! Visiting the shrine for New Years, that’s nice I only happens to be passing by, I’m not really the superstitious type.”
“I’m Kusuo’s father, Kuniharu.” “And I’m his mother, you’re such a handsome boy. Thank you for being friends with our grumpy little Ku!”
“What uhm. Ya, well, sure! Greetings! Sir and Ma’am. I’m jet black K-Kaido.” Kai’s said with in a panic.
“Oh so your name is Kaido?”
“Uh, Kusuo is one of my greatest allies! I’m mean friends! Hahaha, ya.” Kaido was flailing his arms about in his panic.
‘What’s with everyone calling him Kusuo all of a sudden… it feels weird.’ Y/N thought, this development just wasn’t sitting right with them.
“I know! Who would have thought Kusuo was able to make two real friends!”
“Oh honey no, I didn’t mean it like that. My prayer was for Ku to make lots of friends this year! Don’t you see?! The years barely begun and it’s already been granted!”
“Neat. You know I prayed for the exact same thing. We’re on the exact same page, always thinking alike!” Saiki made a face at that so Y/N guess he probably prayed for something else.
“So Kaido, have you gone up and done your prayer yet?” Kurumi asked.
“I should! Indubitably!”
“Indubitably?” Y/N and Saiki looked towards each other a bit confused.
‘Who knew your parents could break the great jet back wings,’ Y/N thought to Saiki. ‘I guess so.’ Saiki thought back.
“Well, time for me to go converse the heavens.” Kaido said then walked to the shrine.
“Kaido seems like a good kid.”
“Ya he does. Even if he is dragging his scarf.”
“You guys have such low standards.”
“Well, me and Kuso have done our prayers so I think it’s time for us to head out. You two can stick around and enjoy the sights.” Y/N told Saiki’s parents.
“Aren’t you going to say bye to Kaido?” Kurumi asked.
“Could you actually tell him bye for us, there is a program I promised to watch with Kusuo that airs soon, so we’d like to go home and catch it.”
“Oh of course!” “Ya go ahead love bugs, we’ll see you at dinner.” With the go ahead Y/N and Saiki went home.
“Why were you so ready to go? Normally you’d love to see Kaido embarrass himself.” Saiki asked Y/N.
“I just had a feeling that if we sticked around any longer something bad would happen. And knowing your bad luck all of our friends would show up and your parents would invite them to dinner and your New Years would be ruined.”
“Really?” Saiki questioned.
“Well it happened at Christmas with Nendo! Since this is such a public place I have no doubt a similar course of events would happen.” Y/N defended.
“You’re probably right, thank you for getting us out of there.”
“You’re welcome.”
The conversation lulled and they feel into a comfortable silence as they walked back to Y/N’s house.
“Is there really a program you wanted to show me?” Saiki asked.
“Truthfully no. My New Years wish was to have you to myself, so I just wanted to get you out of there. I know that’s a little selfish but I know you like quieter events.” Y/N said a little bashfully.
“I do.”
“So we could put on a movie and get snack. Or I can put music on so we can take a nap, truth be told I didn’t really sleep last night.” Y/N laughed.
“Either works just fine.” Saiki told Y/N with a light smile.
“How about Home Alone? I know it’s a Christmas movie but I haven’t watched it with you yet. Plus it’s my favorite.” Y/N said as the grabbed the remote and sat next to Saiki on the couch.
“Sure.” Truthfully, Saiki didn’t care what they watched, as long as it was just him and Y/N.
—————————————————————————
By the time dinner came around Saiki and Y/N were knocked out on the couch. They laughed, talked, and ate snacks while various movies played so it was to no surprise when they feel asleep together after many hours of having fun with each other.
When they didn’t show up to dinner Kurumi gave Y/N a call but Saiki ended up picking up the phone.
“Y/N? Where are you and Kusuo?”
“We aren’t going.” Saiki replied.
“Oh Ku?! Why?”
“Y/N is still asleep. We took a nap after we watched a few movies but they still haven’t woken up yet.” Kusuo told his mom.
“Oh, well I can stop by and drop off some food for when they wake up.” Kurumi offered.
“No, we can come over for leftovers later.”
“Well alright, just make sure to eat soon okay Ku?”
“Okay… bye.”
“Bye bye, Ku.”
As Saiki put down Y/N’s phone they started to shift in their sleep. So Saiki adjusted them so they were laying more comfortably, laying their head on his arm so they wouldn’t wake up sore.
