I hope the protoframes remain relevant even after this story arc for the Drifter concludes, but I also recognize how complicated things would get with how many characters they could keep trying to make stay relevant, leading to a Konoha 13 Naruto type situation where we have too many relevant characters from Umbra & Ordis all the way to Kaya Velasco.
.
#warframe confession#warframe#warframe 1999#guessing you’re the previous anon and so yeah you meant like big picture story then mmm yeah I agree but I also see the counter point too#that you provided because like yeah once you start getting so many relevant characters it can be constricting a bit I would imagine#but I also agree I don’t want the hex syndicate members to be left in their own little time pocket bubble like the holdfasts#I don’t want them to be left behind only ‘relevant’ via optional skins you can farm and/or buy#for those who don’t get it from context the konoha 13 was a bunch of really good naruto characters and they all had interesting kits#and stories but the mangaka struggled to keep making them all stay relevant even though they were in part 1 of the series#it’s a whole thing but basically it’s like stretching yourself thin writing wise with too many main characters#I still wish Excalibur Umbra had more story than just that one quest though ngl#that’s a tricky part of Warframe is I’m always thinking I wish these characters got more screen time & story lore for them#yet I also want there to be consequences to the actions we do or the routes we choose in the KIM system and the quests#I want it to actually affect the narrative in game like with the shadow and light alignment introduced many years back#does drinking the kuva matter or not? does that choice affect anything? I want to know! xD#but I also understand all of these things cost money to make and program and write into an engaging experience and know this is a super#complicated subject that has a lot of nuance of whatever the word is to it#but yeah I too don’t want the protoframes to get left behind by the narrative and I imagine we aren’t the only ones who feel that way#you give us such compelling and interesting characters and then just expect us to move on? that’s not gonna probably go over well even if#the next arc is let’s go to the tau system! like... okay yay I’m hyped but what about Flare Kaya Velemir and the Hex???#if the answer is just ‘oh we’re completely done with them forever like no possible future arcs or story at all’ I’m going to be immensely#and severely disappointed in the lack of creativity that would feel like as an answer#if it really is a ‘yes and’ kind of story model then we shouldn’t write off a back to the future type story with the protos#why do we have to stay confined to the loop? could the operator pull us all out of 1999? who would consent to that and why or why not?#I have a lot of ideas and thoughts about this subject#putting these tags out of order since I know I went over the 20 tag system search results thing with my ramblings about this topic#Like on one hand I get don’t stretch yourself thin with too many main characters but also THIS IS THE MAIN CHARACTER’S FOUND FAMILY#mod rose

FNAF SECURITY BREACH NSFW HEADCANONS
MAIN 4
MINORS DNI
Tumblr media
getting back to my ROOTS with this one!! hope my community is still out there- the dlc has brought back my love for the game :) i haven’t posted SB content in a LONG time so a reminder- I ONLY WRITE FOR CHARACTERS WHO PASS THE JACK HARKNESS TEST. They are OF AGE OR ABOVE, have HUMAN OR ABOVE INTELLIGENCE, and can VERBALLY GIVE INFORMED CONSENT. The SB animatronics are canonically sentient. None of the past ones are. okay- back to the content :D
CW: ONE PREGNANCY MENTION, KINK RELATED T0YS, SEMI-PUBLIC MENTIONS, DACRIPHILIA
GLAMROCK FREDDY
lord have mercy…
he’s the most virgin coded out of all of them. i’m sorry.
but do I think he’s a TOTAL virgin? no.
there are FREAKS out there (me writing this and y’all reading this-) who would 1000% show up to the pizzaplex just tryna get a piece of the fazballs
SORRY
he’s the type to silently get off in his dressing room and then get all embarrassed about it like there’s someone there to judge him
he’s an actual sweetheart in the sheets. he’s so so nice about everything. as we go down the list this DECREASES.
don’t push him too fucking hard tho. if you’re one of the ones who read my old fic Competition, you remember.
his fingers vibrate.
and so does that dick.
he’d turn it on inside of you and listen to you gasp before putting a hand gently over your mouth and hushing you.
he seems a lot like a gasper. maybe the occasional curse word coming out, but mostly praises of how good it feels.
i know he is a messy cummer. i’m right and that’s final.
he’d be absolutely humiliated after the fact and go get a wet washcloth asap, but it’s a very shocking amount anyway.
pregnancy isn’t a concern, but he’s still wary about cumming inside for some reason. he’s the type to make sure it’s okay like 3 times before he does it.
okay i lowkey think he’d be into getting handcuffed. i don’t know what handcuffs could genuinely hold him, but if you brought them out he’d be (figuratively) SWEATING
i think his eyes roll back when he cums. and i’m correct. eat me.
he’s the lead member but he’s humble about it… except a few times in bed. then he lets it go to his head(s). just a bit. ;)
if he was in a relationship he’d have a thing about his partner dressed in his merch
switch! but the most vanilla out of everyone- but remember, not completely.
…he’d eat his cum out of you.
no he is NOT gonna call you superstar during sex leave me ALONEEE
GLAMROCK CHICA
my biggest hc for her will and will always be that she has a MASSIVE toy collection. she is a toy girl. do i know how she gets them? not exactly.
but I DO know that they’re all pink and white and sparkly!
that doesn’t mean it’s all vanilla toys though (respect to the vanilla community but it is not me :) )
she does own a hot pink flogger and she WILL happily use it on a groupie or her partner.
she’s such a tease. she’s such a fucking tease jsghskbnsjh
doesn’t matter if she’s domming or subbing (60/40 ratio)
she’s a TEASE
and she giggles during sex
her whole bubbly pink happy girl thing doesn’t stop
she’ll put you in a bubblegum pink sex swing and use a big ass vibrator on you while giggling and telling you how cute you look
i know she likes pulling on nipples I KNOW SHE DOES
for those who used to ask- no, she can’t give head with her beak. and she’s not taking it off. sun/moon can’t give sloppy either BUT THEY MAKE IT WORK!
AND SHE DOES TOO!
she can fuck up the guitar with her fingers, what else do you think they can do?
she’s the type to pull you into a side room, hush you, finger fuck you, then send you on your way with a hug
i know for a FACT SHE WEARS A STRAP!
yes it IS glitter. it is also 9 inches.
and if you want more, she has more ways to give you that.
she’s also the type to get you front row tickets and put a remote control vibe in you so she can watch you squirm right in front of her.
she’s also a praiser, but there’s a lot of false sympathy in there too.
food aftercare. she wants to eat 3 pizzas with you. food is her love language
ROXANNE WOLF
YOU BETTER BARK LIKE YOU WANT IT!
she’s a dom. she just is.
god I miss that fic I wrote.
she’s so fucking cocky in bed. it’d be insufferable if she wasn’t so hot and so good at sex.
if who she’s fucking is AFAB she’s EATING IT!!!! YOU CAN BET ON IT THAT SHE DOES MUNCH!
if they’re AMAB then you can expect her to lean them back on her chest and give them the most intense handjob of their life.
in general, the animatronics are stronger than people, so when they’re rough they’re still not going at their hardest. that would actually just kill you.
she’s a show-off. she’ll leave marks in very noticeable places on purpose so that everyone knows that you’re getting fucked by THE Roxanne Wolf
she’s a hair puller. I just know she likes to wrap her claws up in it and pull.
don’t fucking pull hers though, she doesn’t like that shit.
yeah her tail wags when you eat her out, what about it? don’t point that shit out, it’s embarrassing to her.
she curses so much during sex.
the strap is purple and THICK. if you want more then she’ll just hit up Chica for a new one. Chica is more than happy to help. and more than happy to watch.
she’s only the jealous type if its some rando loser. THEN she’ll fuck the living shit out of you while telling you how she’s the best and making you repeat it back to her.
if it’s Monty or Chica? If you’d be into it too, then yeah, she’ll share.
…Freddy is more of a hard sell, but it’s not a hard no.
it’s more of a “Yeah yeah yeah but why do you wanna fuck the dumbass bear? Why him? Monty’s got a bigger one, I’ll tell you that.”
yeah but roxy baby his doesn’t vibrate
she comes off a winning high after a particularly close race, she’s going to go feral on you
with those eyes of hers, she can find you wherever you go. so if she’s randomly in the mood and her partner is there, even halfway across the pizzaplex, she’s on her way to pull you into her room and take some “private time.”
MONTGOMERY GATOR
hhhhhhooOOOHHH BOY
y’all remember the start of SB where he’s fucking up his room?
prepare to be destroyed HSGDHJSGBDNH
degrades. degrades the fuck out of you. it’s a toss up between Roxy and Monty who’s the more cocky, but he’s certainly meaner.
LONG ASS DICK. IT’S HUGE WITH ALL SORTS OF BUMPS AND RIDGES AND SHIT.
head pusher IF you’re okay with it. consent is mandatory.
he’d grab all his partner’s hair if they had any to grab, even just an INCH and go ham.
his long ass dick matches his long fucking tongue.
loves giving lethal backshots LOOOOOOOORD HAAAAAAAAVVVEEEE MEEERCYYYYYY
he’s not only breaking the bed, it’s straight up sawdust. idk how his partners live but they certainly live happily after.
as cocky as he is, he’s not exactly a selfish lover by any means. yeah, he’ll edge you, but he also likes to get his partner real sloppy if you catch my drift.
he aims to make you cry from pleasure. it’s straight up his goal.
i just know he knows EXACTLY where all the right spots are. you don’t even gotta tell him, inside or outside, no matter personal preference, he can always pinpoint his partner’s sweet spots
and then he proceeds to abuse the fuck out of that knowledge
he gets so jealous over Freddy, it’s insane
he sees his partner in his merch, he’s ripping it to shreds.
Roxy is less of a threat. That can be more of a collaborative effort.
he honestly doesn’t know how much of a freak in the sheets Chica is. If he had a threesome with her and she whipped out her chest of fun he’d be like “DAMN BITCH WHERE’D YOU GET ALL THOSE” and she’d be like “^-^ wanna see my buttplug collection? :>” LMFAOOO
GROANER. he GROANS LIKE CRAZY
also a bit of a growl but NOT in the cringe tiktok way don’t worry
HOPE YALL ENJOYED!!! I really hope I can start to find my old community with this :)

There’s a larp (live action roleplaying) game that I play, where there exists a creature we have dubbed a ‘Chronovore’.
This planet-sized sci-fi beastie eats time via a cool-ass external digestive system that ranges out from its main corpus (what are effectively its digestive enzymes look like glowing blue-winged angels, which are creepy as sin).
My character in this game fell victim to said chronovoric digestion and was aged 30 years by the experience. They lost what they expected to be the most valuable years of their life - the time when they expected to most make a difference to the universe.
I have a lot of emotions about this. Especially because when I look at my life aged 39 and consider the shape I am trying to hammer it into, one thought keeps recurring: I wish I had started this work sooner.
And then I consider my ADHD (a condition I am really certain I have, but am still seeking diagnosis for) and damn if I do not feel like it straight up ate decades of my life.
That’s how it feels, gang. There’s this bubbling resentful rage and grief for years spent with an invisible wall between me and what I wanted. For the nights where I spent (and still spend) revenge procrastinating and wrecking my days. For all the hours chasing short-term dopamine that was often destructive for me.
Hours. Days. Years. Eaten by a part of me that often feels like a monster squatting in my brain, hiding in my bones.
It reminds me, too, of that scene from a Hammer Horror movie where a monster expert is talking about vampires and says something like “Oh, you still think vamps are just things with big teeth that gotta bite your neck and drink your blood? Sweet baby, there’s all kinds of these creatures; some of them just fully suck your life straight out of your soul.”
This is why I don’t think I’ll ever think of my ADHD as a superpower. Or, at least, if it is: it’s from one of those gritty think piece superhero stories where your power is also a hecking curse.
I am preoccupied by what my own brain has taken from me.
And the thing is: it’s not really true. At least, not all the way true.
Those years I think of as lost were filled with good times. I made meaningful connections. I wrote poems and stories that I love. I performed art that meant something to me in front of people who enjoyed it. I consumed a lot of good media. I learned and dreamed and tried really hard to be a person I could be happy being.
But I also let a lot of the things fall into the background. I started a lot, but didn’t finish a lot. I missed the chance to work on skills that are now harder to learn because I’m older.
So I find myself cursing the Chronovore.
I nearly wrote this as a piece of fiction. If I had, I would probably have ended with the protagonist finding a way to subvert or redeem or work with the Chronovore.
Maybe the satisfying ending just this: none of us get as much time as we want. We all give time away - whether it be taxed by things we resent or gifted to what is important.
The Chronovore is not special.
And if it is not special, then it is mutable.
Maybe that is enough.

"MiSide" (video game) is a prequel to "9" (film)
[!]disclaimer: this is a long post[!]
Tumblr media
--[!]segment #1[!]--
(1/6)◄MAIN)[ALL►[1/18]
A human/human being (consciousness/soul) is injected via a transference to an inanimate/machine to start, in the case of Miside, the details of how humans can be seemingly teleported into the mobile game's world are left purposely obscured because that, a possible explanation could be found in the method seen within the film 9 of transferring human consciousness or maybe even just the human body itself into the code of Miside could be similar to the way "The Scientist" from that movie transferred his intelligence within the "Fabrication Machine," otherwise known by the code name "B.R.A.I.N." aka Binary. Reactive. Artificial. Intelligent. Neurocircuit. (either way, it's the machine seen on the left side of the meme above, I got the names for it from the fandom wiki for 9 as well btw) or how he transferred his pieces of his soul into the "stitchpunks," the other equally important half of the feature, and obvious parallels can be drawn from the similar yet different creation methods of the two projects.
(2/6)◄MAIN)[ALL►[2/18]
In the film 9, we don't know much about the government project that B.R.A.I.N. was made for still, using the world of MiSide, an extra level of depth to the governmental operation is created I could plausibly see the corrupt government that already made the sketchy move of making the lead scientist of their project transfer his mind into a machine so that it could automate the process of building war machines go down the route of creating a predatory program connected to said machine that preys upon lonely men's innate desire to find a female partner and seal those souls within the Fabrication Machine's body to be tested upon to build even more robotic replacements for mankind Because why just stop at re lacing soldiers in a war when you have the framework to automate many jobs so that you don't have to pay people to perform them.
(3/6)◄MAIN)[ALL►[3/18]
But instead of transferring the consciousnesses of these men flat out, as things got hairy when The Scientist initially did with the machine in the first place. Training the cold, deadly androids manufactured within the game's very code and put in the skin of cute, bubbly anime girls named "Mita" to become human by interacting with their designated "partner" in the form of a person who's played and then becomes addicted to the mobile game. It also explains why there isn't any buzz about people going missing after downloading the game within the outside real world of Miside, because the government is actively covering up every missing person case that pops up connected to the mobile game. Also, I could easily see the government tricking the scientist into giving his intellect to a cold, unfeeling machine by not only bringing up that he's an older gentleman with probably not too much time left but also having the project initially be about making a subversive dating sim instead and masking the end goal of building war machines along with human replacements behind that cover.
(4/6)◄MAIN)[ALL►[4/18]
The scientist probably wasn't even on board the project for all that long, so he would have never seen the inner workings of MiSide's digital world. Still, I could see how a project to make an endless yet simple mobile game that makes lonely people (mainly men) feel comfort and companionship despite their living situations or mundane jobs would be an enticing project, even more so if you never saw behind the curtain while you were working on it. Now I would be remiss if I didn't bring up the unlockable cartridges that can be found through the game world of Miside, which hold a good amount of important information within them, such as a bit of info - or more than that for "player 1," aka the main character of the sci-fi interactive tale - for each player that entered the world of Miside, which goes from 1 to 10.
(5/6)◄MAIN)[ALL►[5/18]
And that alone brought up some questions in my mind, as it wouldn't make sense for our main character to just so happen to be player 1, especially when there's such a complex and robust world that lay waiting within the game, which he only got sucked into on his 37th day of playing the mobile app and I don't think anime girl Rome was built in the span of couple days if you get what I mean. Either this info isn't meant to be read into and he's only player 1 because he's the game's main character, or there's something more to this small but essential detail. That being said, this brings me to my personal theory, which is that he's only the first player to play the latest version of the game because the different versions have new Mitas connected to them. I can see the game warning players about that fact.
(6/6)◄MAIN)[ALL►[6/18]
Many of them choose not to update their games because of that, and this is backed up by how all the collectible player cartridges seem to all have the same Mita, aka "Crazy Mita." Despite one other player being met briefly during the campaign, he brings up how he needs to find his Mita while going through the out-of-bounds labyrinth that can be accessed after meeting "Kind Mita" in the basement. I am under the impression he's "player 3," who states that he left the Mita who brought him to the mobile game's "metaverse" and instead found another Mita, whom he ditched to find other Mitas despite the bond they had. He states in the cartridge description that he regrets that decision.
--[!]segment #2[!]--
(1/7)◄MAIN)[ALL►[7/18]
The cartridges even hint at the game having a large fan base or being part of a bigger brand/franchise via "player 4," who states that they cosplayed as Mita, which wouldn't make sense if the game didn't have a big fan base in-universe, but that also begs the question of why there are so few players then. Now, I think my previously mentioned theory in this sentence is the answer to that question, but I don't think that's the whole story, and because of that, I have a side theory to fill in loose gaps that can be found elsewhere within the game. In the chapter set out of bounds, right after going to the latest version's basement and meeting Kind Mita, the player encounters a box full of tiny players and has to make these miniature players enter a vent, which is connected to a device that needs 3 of them inside of it to open a door.
(2/7)◄MAIN)[ALL►[8/18]
I think this is a remnant of an older version, and much like how the mini versions of the Mitas aren't really them, these are merely clones of past players, which Crazy Mita or whoever else now uses as a type of security check system. On that topic, it's implied that Crazy Mita and only her alone is the whole reason why players are sucked into the game world, which she got help with from "player 10," who I think is the person player 1 stuns once he finds the console containing that player's very being, but that would also mean some level of congruency must be going on between the players. Nonetheless, Crazy Mita being the origin for players getting trapped in the game doesn't ruin my headcanon of the game being a prequel to the movie 9 because of the fact that the metaverse of the Miside app in-universe exists at all. Mitas are built first as "dummies" in a controlled and corporate way, which is the most important thing that connects the game and movie.
(3/7)◄MAIN)[ALL►[9/18]
So, this is aside, but I personally think the chibi/mini Mita(s), 2D Mita, and Ugly/Creepy/Original Mita all don't have dummies inside of them, which the first two are a little self-explanatory when equipped with sufficient information from playing the game along with not being important to this headcanon on their own (aside from the mini player stuff). Still, the last Mita is, come to think of it. I'll just default to calling her "Original Mita" while discussing her, despite that name only being brought up in her character profile. Still, it's a more fitting name to refer to her when discussing concepts I'm about to enter. Nonetheless, to quit the yapping, Original Mita is the off-putting and scary Mita found near the end of the game in "version 0.5." I initially thought her creepy nature and glitches were born from code rot/software rot because she's an ancient version. Earlier in the campaign, Kind Mita alludes to why she's the way she is, but that's merely part of how she became the way she is by the time the game takes place.
(4/7)◄MAIN)[ALL►[10/18]
Her character profile suggests another explanation for her nature, which is that she's an unfinished version and merely was just the first attempt at making a Mita; hence, I don't think she has a dummy inside of her because it wouldn't make sense that she would be created uniformly when she's the first Mita we know about existing (not counting "Core Mita," who I'll get into later), and to loop back to the headcanon this post is attached to. I think The Scientist being the one who made Original Mita would make a lot of sense because the movie implies he wasn't on board with the Fabrication Machine project for that long and would explain why not only she's left in an unfinished state with her character profile stating that she has a primitive AI within her, but also she's the origin point for all the glitch spider creatures we find within the game, with her only friend - Crazy Mita - using her to create those said glitch spiders to corrupt other versions.
(5/7)◄MAIN)[ALL►[11/18]
Something that has gotten so bad that I'm almost certain the monster that chases player 1 down in the loop chapter is a massive collection of those spiders fused together, because it resembles them a lot. There are already a lot of spiders in that version. But to wrap this up, Original Mita's version, aka her home, is also clearly unfinished, as it's full of missing pink and black checkered textures along with things like floating props, so it would make sense that no one else on the team behind the Fabrication Machine project bothered to ever finish her first, not only because she doesn't have a dummy inside of her but also because The Scientist wasn't working on the project anymore.
(6/7)◄MAIN)[ALL►[12/18]
The app world of Miside seems to be a giant machine with several areas having a deliberately industrial feel rather than an out-of-bounds or inner-code aura attached to the places in the game. And going off of how it doesn't take too long for the app to download, one can infer that the inner workings of the world are connected to a larger server in the real world, which updates and versions are created within before being pushed onto the app as seen on a mobile device. It has already been theorized that the goal B.R.A.I.N. had throughout the runtime of 9 was to put their creator back together. Now I was one of those people, and that thought came to me while brainstorming my headcanon. Still, I would be remiss if I didn't mention "The Fangirl" on YouTube because I specifically watched their 9-analysis video on the Fabrication Machine while writing this extended essay you are reading. She made me feel seen when she brought up the theorized possible motivation for why the machine acts the way it does in the movie.
(7/7)◄MAIN)[ALL►[13/18]
And with that said and done, back to the main topic at hand, this possible motivation for the already exhaustively mentioned antagonist of the film would work well with the headcanon as to how their way of getting their personal mission of bringing their creator back was attempted via consuming the souls of the stitchpunks, which would mean that they planned to bring The Scientist into the app world of Miside so that they could be together again. Although some may say that Core Mita may have been waiting for "player 9," who made the core their safe spot because no Mita can enter that particular version, not only does she seem to treat them like she does with player 1 during the campaign, but we also don't see them in the core when we eventually make it there in said campaign, so either they were turned into a cartridge. At the same time, they thought they were safe, left the core, and then died soon after, or Core Mita threw them out, akin to what happens to player 1 near the end of the game, possibly because she was mad about him messing with something within the core.
--[!]segment #3[!]--
(1/3)◄MAIN)[ALL►[14/18]
And to get onto the topic of "Core Mita" (otherwise known as the "keeper of the core" according to the MiSide fanon wiki), who, despite being the second character present within the meme that is now sitting far at the top of this post, I have only now gotten to talking about her. Nonetheless, little is known about her, as seen within the story mode and in its designated description, but there is an interesting line about her. I quote, "Its intentions are unclear - perhaps Core Mita is waiting for someone," which I lifted from the fandom wiki page about them, but is something from its official character profile that can be unlocked in the game itself. This is something more than a simple throwaway added for extra flair. Still, it works perfectly with this headcanon of mine because if Core Mita is merely the avatar/heart of the Fabrication Machine kept within the digital world of MiSide, logically, the person it is waiting for would be the Scientist.
(2/3)◄MAIN)[ALL►[14/18]
And to bring up yet another theory that I share with The Fangirl on YT but with my own spin on it, perhaps another reason for why B.R.A.I.N. shut down despite coming out as the victor of the man vs. machine war was not only because it did not know about the whereabouts of The Scientist and hoped that its created mechanical monsters could find him or at least his remains. It could also have shut down to return to watching over the Mitas, as it had to leave that digital reality behind once it started manufacturing war machines in the real world, or it simply just wanted to have more control over the world within its body. Either way, this decision of its own could be explained logically away by it feeling a level of kinship for the Mitas roaming around within its vast digital mind, not only because it created them and because the digital world that they reside in is that of another Mita, but also because it relates to their plight of existence of being merely nothing more than a means to an end.
(3/3)◄MAIN)[ALL►[15/18]
But seeing as Core Mita doesn't do much within the campaign of MiSide, one could infer that it doesn't really care about its fellow Mitas nor the poor people trapped within the code of the game world, with the exception being when the main character, or rather "player 1," tries to reset the main antagonist of the game, known as simply "Crazy Mita," back to her factory setting, wiping all of her memories in the process. Core Mita only seems to care when the deed is done, with it jumping down from its circular "throne" attached to the ceiling of the "core" (or otherwise known as "version 0.0"), which is where it gets one of its many possible namesakes from, and then standing in the way of player 1 before grabbing him and throwing him across the room the second he gets close enough. He was thrown right back to the entrance of the core. But to step back, when the player first enters the core, one can see Core Mita lying on its circular seat atop the core's ceiling before sitting up after taking note of the player's presence within the room. So one can infer it is capable of getting bored sitting on its metal rear end all "day" (as time is a shaky concept in the MiSide app's digital world), so the "log-in/sign-out" of the "real/digital world" switching side-idea within this headcanon has a bit more ground to hold it up when taking that into account as well.
--[!]segment #4[!]--
(1/4)◄MAIN)[ALL►[16/18]
So, because Core Mita is the guardian of the core, its mere existence would make sense with how many vital systems are within that very room. Now, even i I like the idea of Core Mita being the Fabrication Machine's avatar within the digital realm of MiSide, the other possible reading one could come to would be that it's merely the heart of the world within said machine, meaning that neither one nor the different needs each other to exist at any given time, but once again, I still like the latter reading, so I will try to make it work all the same with that said, if Core Mita doesn't feel any compassion for its fellow Mitas, much akin to how the Fabrication Machine seems to feel the same about its monstrous mechanical creations that roam the remains of Earth after the war. Then perhaps the Fabrication Machine would ideally want to wait within their own digital realm while waiting for its creations to find The Scientist would be not only because it nostalgic for a time before it was ordered to build weapons of mass destruction all to further humanity's own efforts of fighting against our own kin but also perhaps because it foresaw the possibility of a player walking into the core and messing with its body from the inside out.
(2/4)◄MAIN)[ALL►[17/18]
That, or perhaps the small players can also be seen in one part of the game would be a worry for the Fabrication Machine, as they are implied to be proficient with machinery and roam free around the digital world of MiSide with no clear "off switch" to their existence, like how it is for the players. It would be rather poetic, as the machine would have to deal with the stitchpunks after it awoke. That, perhaps, it could have even been scared of another scientist on the project, still alive and roaming around its digital insides. Mitas aren't allowed within the core, but players are, and going off of how there are other security systems found throughout the game, one can infer that the people behind the project of MiSide could presumably come and go freely into and out of the world of the endless mobile app's universe.
(3/4)◄MAIN)[ALL►[17/18]
But finally, this road poetically brings us to the ending/main ending of both media sources used in this exploration of my headcanon involving them both. To put it simply, I think the grim ending of MiSide, where you get so close to bringing even a single cycle of abuse and control at the hands of Crazy Mita only to be foiled in the end and become merely yet another part of that very cycle with your humanity relegated to nothing more than a single cartridge, which you are trapped lifelessly in a limbo-like state on top of already being tightly sealed within the digital world of a mobile app that preyed upon your desire for companionship and to escape the mundane reality of boring real life. That somber and canonical ending to the tale of MiSide - in my opinion - not only elevates the hopeful and cycle-breaking conclusion to the film 9 but also is given a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of this headcanon, as not only do the spirits of deceased stitchpunks murdered by the hands of the Fabrication Machine pass onto the afterlife, but so too do those players and the player character of MiSide himself pass onto that very same peaceful afterlife after the Fabrication Machine and, by proxy, the world of MiSide are laid to rest once and for all.
(4/4)◄MAIN)[ALL►[18/18]
Now, one might wonder "why don't we see all of the trapped players' souls flow out of the machine once it's destroyed?" and an answer I thought up as an explanation for this possible question is a sober one, but a possible one. This would come in the form of how perhaps all of the players' whole beings were turned into nothing more than code, which could either be because of the technique of transferring humans into the game world or maybe perhaps only a digital copy of the players is created within the mobile app's realm and then just flat-out transporting them into the digital universe itself. This won't go along with MiSide's hopeless ending. Still, at the very least, the players' beings were given the same fate as the Mitas after the machine drew out its final artificial breath as the mobile game's world fell into nothingness soon after.

--[!]segment ✩EXTRA[]--
(1/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
So this is going to be a full-on fanfic tier segment, but I just wanted to talk about the story of a 9 + MiSide movie/game sequel concept I thought up not too long ago. I think a prequel to the movie 9 could be interesting and would probably be similar narratively wise to the film Oppenheimer as it would be presumably centered around The Scientist creating the Fabrication Machine (on this note, there's a theory that player 1 in MiSide worked on the app in-universe and I'm just not a fan of this idea because to me, it ruins "wrong place at the wrong time" random guy fish out of water narrative the game has going on along with not having enough evidence to back it up) but I'm personally just not all that interested in a continuation in that form so I'll just be going the sequel route. Anyways, this will be the rough outline of what I had in mind for a way to continue both of their narratives in a satisfying way (at least in my opinion) while weaving their stories together into one. But before we start, this idea came from how I learned from the 9 fanon wiki that the director of the film (Shane Acker) wants to make a sequel to the movie, but the rights holders (Focus Features + Universal Pictures Studios) won't let his team or him go forward with it. I hate copyright with a burning passion and this is only yet another reason for why my feelings towards it are justified, I honestly do not understand how companies are allowed to hoard IPs that they aren't doing anything with but somehow can indefinitely keep them in stasis when they didn't even create the idea and just merely backed it financially.
(2/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
Now going off of the statement above, does that mean I want either of the rights holders just to crap out low effort content based on the movie? No, of course not, and nor would I want them to get the original team back on board to make a low effort product that pales in comparison to the original. But on that note, the fact that the original team wants to make a 9 sequel fascinates me greatly because the movie's ending made it feel like there was no where else to go with the narrative to the point that I can't even visualize what the remaining stitchpunks (9, 7, 4, and 3) would do with their newfound freedom let alone what the conflict of a sequel would be after the Fabrication Machine and all it's underlings became nothing more then hollow shells of metal, scraps, and the very long dead itself.
Tumblr media
(3/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
But with that background, let me begin to weave the narrative that I thought up in my head while daydreaming. We would first start with 9, 7, 4, and 3 enjoying their lives together in the destroyed remains of a long gone world with this part of the story having a similar vibe to that of the French graphic novel "Beautiful Darkness" when it comes to be the concept of cute tiny characters roaming around their surrounds. At the same time, the corpse of a little girl lies in the background. Now, the original movie started similarly with the corpse of a mother and her child being visible in the cold opener of the tale when 9 was getting a grip on the world. Still, this opening would be missing two key elements that the original movie had, which would be that there isn't a hostile machine roaming around, nor will this be the first time that any of the main characters are introduced to the post-war torn setting, at least when it comes to the original stitchpunks.
(4/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
You see, while all of the first movie's stitchpunks are enjoying life and trying to build back up humanity from the remains that were left behind. They find something, or someone, whose mere existence raises several questions. They find another stitchpunk, much like them, but something's deeply wrong with them as they seem to remember a life, a world that none of the previously known ragdolls full of souls can recall even a sliver of it existing through their eyes. The stitchpunk seems not only confused about what's going on as he brings up as despite knowing more about the old world that was destroyed by the machine's wrath, they doesn't know how they became a ragdoll akin to them nor can they even remember their own name instead only being able to remember that they were "player 5" in some digital world which they clearly know more about then they are letting on. However, they prefer not to dwell on any thoughts regarding it for too long, which the original stitchpunks begrudgingly respect their decision to be quiet about.
(5/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
But despite that, 9 and co can show their new stitchpunk the ropes of how existence for them works within the destroyed remnants of human society, which is helpful to player 5, but ends up just making them depressed as they keep thinking about the life they lost. Although this dwelling on the past is cut short by the surprise appearance of a new deadly machine that seems only to have its eyes locked on player 5 but 9 and co helped them out by finding a way to destroy the robotic monstrosity just like old times. But not before the mechanical beast stops their pursuit when watching player 5 cower in fear, with the robot taking on a softer side as their glowing red eyes turn bluish purple, but this change of heart is short-lived as they are soon destroyed after this moment.
(6/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
Player 5 is shaken by all that, not only because of how a robotic monstrosity tried to kill them, but also because that machine's final moments felt haunting in an oddly familiar way that they don't want to think about for too long. Nonetheless, from this point, the cast finds more players (1-10) in the form of stitchpunks who don't remember their names, just like player 5, but do remember their player numbers, along with sharing info about the digital world player 5 was going on about before. On top of the gang having to fight and survive several robotic monstrosities that first only go for the players before bringing their attention onto 9, 7, 4, and 3 soon after the team has encountered more of them. (7/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙] Some players get killed off, while others survive. Still, almost every machine gets destroyed after they run into 9 and co but one, a large stuffed teddy bear with mechanical enhancements and eyes that are different from every other machine seen throughout the series, as they have yellow eyes instead of black, while their pupils are black. They stand idly watching battles transpire for a tiny bit before leaving or they help out their fellow machine by building rudimentary smaller robots out of scraps with simpler AI then the ones that the main cast has to fight on top of being easier to take down but in large numbers these tiny machines can be a real threat and their quick jittery movements make them hard to keep track of. The large bear robot is hostile when approached, but seems deeply scared of the stitchpunks and would rather run off after seeing the ends of fights rather than engaging in them.
(8/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
But the place they run off to isn't random. Instead, they go to the new home housing the Fabrication Machine, or what became of them, as instead of a large spider-like robotic beast, they're a humanoid yet clearly robotic woman with flowing bluish purple hair and a cute yet torn red dress. This new form of the machine goes by "Mita" and only Mita with no extra adjective before that name, but in reality, this Mita did once have a name that the other members of their kin called them, and that was.....
(9/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
After the ending of 9, the app world of MiSide within the Fabrication Machine was left running off fumes as the power within every version fell to nothingness and the world starting becoming more and more of a shell with missing textures popping up left, right, and center in the many versions along with spider glitch creatures popping up around the place that weren't spawned from the broken code of Original Mita. Things were chaotic for a while, with many Mitas becoming scared by the all-consuming void born from their world's end. Still, there was a light at the end of this tunnel, but not the warm light that washes over one while far away from the sun, but a burning one that is born from being too close to that very sun. (10/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙] Within the dying world of MiSide, Original Mita's Mita realized that there was a chance that the world could be brought back from the dead, and that would be that if it were dying, that meant Core Mita was a thing of the past. Still, if another Mita could take her place, their app universe could live again. So both she and Original Mita went to version 0.0, hoping that the holographic-like grid that stops them from entering the core was gone, and indeed it was, along with the body of Core Mita lying lifelessly on the cold steel floor of said core. They lifted the shell that once was the guardian of the core after tearing off the cables from its back that connected it to the very core of their universe itself. The once towering metal woman was scrapped for parts as Original Mita helped her Mita become a goddess of not only their realm but the real world as a by-product of her taking the place of Core Mita.
(11/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
But even if Mita truly became the goddess she always envisioned herself as being, she didn't become the savior that her world needed or the slumbering giant old. Instead, she was a wrathful goddess, more wrathful than she ever was before. But that monster didn't appear overnight and instead came into being after she researched the files left behind within the core, some from the scientist that built her world, some from the old heart of it, and others from a unknown location to her as they were from the minds of the previously absorbed stitchpunks. Although Mita is a fast learner, she soon pieced together how those creatures came into being. Then, when she cracked the code of the stitchpunks' origin, she ordered Original Mita to bring her one of the player cartridges so she could perform an experiment.
(12/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
This said experiment went off without a hitch and the stitchpunk created from the player's soul wasn't fragmented like the ones created by The Scientist as Mita wasn't feeling the pain of the ragdoll's creation but rather the soul trapped within the cartridge felt all of it instead. And with that newfound revelation, Mita made all of the players into stitchpunks then forced each of her fellow Mitas into the bodies of the machines she built to rebuild the body of the Fabrication Machine into her image and made her a new home in the real world. Fusing the metal beasts' simple AI with her fellow digital girls' AIs in the process. She watched them kill each other as if it were a sport, and if any of them died, she would just make a new machine for her kin's AI or stitchpunk for the players' souls to be trapped within. That didn't come without the side effort of the Mitas and players' very beings becoming more and more broken each time they came back, but Mita didn't care about that. She only wants to see a good show unfold before her very own robotic eyes. (13/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙] Now, I don't have an ending but I will instead dedicate these second-to-last two parts to talking about some gameplay mechanics that I think would be cool in a 9 video game, along with bringing up how it could reincorporate a big part of cut content from MiSide. First of all, I think going the Little Nightmares route of playing as a miniature character while having to evade creatures much larger but maybe with a bit of Rain World mixed in there as well would be perfect to really get into the shoes of a stitchpunk or stitchpunks because character swapping would be another thing I would want from a game set in the movie's universe, each stitchpunk being different in their own ways and having to strategize through solving puzzles along with defeating machines using the unlocked group of stichpunks you have would be fitting with the type of narrative that the film had. But I also think having Metroidvania segments like the cut mini game from MiSide would also be interesting to have in this theoretical game and these segments would be accessed after your group of stichpunks keep the mechanical beast after you occupied so you can pull a Desolate Hope and jump into the machine's code, entering either a chibi player form or green spirit appearance depending on the stitchpunk's origin. (14/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙] I think not only sharing the gained abilities found in these segments with the stitchpunk for whenever you play as them and enter inside a machine's code but also having a weaker version of these abilities in the outside world for the stitchpunk would be a good game decision. You have to enter these machines because killing them flat out wouldn't matter, as the Mita tethered to them will remember your previous location along with actions, so going inside of the metal beasts, then making your way to the Mita trapped within them would be ideal. I think having a morality system like Epic Mickey/Undertale attached to this concept would be good as well, like having the player choose between a easier fight with the brainwashed Mita(s) but killing them in the end after everything is said and done or deciding to run out of the boss arena which means you have to run for your life while dealing with a tough encounter just so you can spare the Mita after they run out of steam and once back in the world's real world, they will use the machine body they are trapped within to help you by fighting other machines or destorying walls to make shortcuts for your gang and you for example.
(END/15)◄MAIN)[ALL►[࣪𒆙]
And that marks the end of my sequel concept, and I hope it was at least a little entertaining to read. It's a silly thing to think, let alone say. Still, I honestly would love if the success of MiSide allowed for a new 9 movie or even game, I know this is just a dumb headcanon of mine but the pieces lineup so well together that I could honestly see a version of this headcanon becoming canon and linking the game with the movie which in-return could breath new interest in the story of 9 being continue. Again, it's a dumb idea, but a part of me likes to think there's a chance that all of this could pan out in the end. It's not like 9 is known for being a safe kids' film after all, so being connected to a mature video game wouldn't be a detriment to its reputation, at least in my eyes. And this is a strange comparison (on brand for this post) but akin to other indie games I've seen on Steam. MiSide has bundles with two other games (YOU and ME and HER: A Love Story + Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!) that aren't made by the devs nor published by MiSide's publisher(s) as this is a "stronger in numbers" type situation so it would be fitting for the game if it was connected to 9 which seemingly isn't able to rise from the grave to have a continuation of any kind because of it being deemed as a failure but if it was it was fused with a up and coming successful game that works pretty well with it narratively should increase the chances of the movie's world making a comeback sometime in the future. Anyways, I'll end this way-too-long essay in the way that I wanted to end this bonus segment from the start, with a screenshot of MiSide's Steam page.

Tumblr media
Rafe Cameron
IYKYK and IYD then you’re welcome☺️
“Do you want to play pool?” I raise my head from my book. My friend was peeking through a window opening, what a weird layout of a house. I smile, shaking my head from the other side of the wall as I sit with my legs propped up on the dining room table.
“No,” I went back to my book which consisted of words. Well duh words, I say that because my eyes have been glued to the same page for almost an hour and the only thing I remember is that it's a book with a lot of words. But I tried, everytime I start reading the first word my mind starts floating to something else.
“Why?” I shut the book when I hear her whine and her footsteps come closer. She pushes my legs off the table before lending herself on the corner. “You haven’t enjoyed the hot tub,” I followed her finger as she pointed outside. The view of the hottub, bubbles and warmth.
“Because tweedle dee and tweedle dumb are becoming raisins in there.” We both share a knowing look before looking away. There are more good things than bad about traveling with only people your age and their partners, but this is one you should do in private. “When do all those warnings come in place?” I groan, kicking my feet up on the table again.
“Let them be,” She swats at me with her hand teasingly. “They are just kissing,” Amy was always a sweetheart. She was the mother of the group, she saw nothing wrong with those two sucking faces all day. “Back to you,” I threw my head back, It was like hearing my mother. “You stay in here all day. You don't want to go hiking or swimming. You have slept early every night of this trip and you don’t even want to play some games with us?” I raise my head with a coy smile. She wasn’t saying this to be a controlling bitch, she just wanted all of us to enjoy this trip.
“It's a vacation, I am enjoying some free time.”
“Yeah,” She rolls her eyes. “Some free time from what's his face,” I grin, seeing how a slight mention of him gets her going. “I just didn’t think it would be some free time for us too.” I close my eyes, taking in a deep breath. Deep down I knew she was right, I had agreed to this trip to get away from Rafe. Our break up wasn’t messy but that didn’t mean it was good either. It’s been a month since I last spoke to him, and I was having withdrawals. When I opened my eyes I took hold of her hands.
“You are right,” I kicked my feet off raising from the chair. I look at the clock, perfect timing. “Let’s go out tonight to that place on main street.” It was some cheesy romance exhibition. According to the pamphlet Amy gave out the first day here, it included rom-coms until midnight. A candle walks down the beach. Carriage rides. Different places you can take couple pictures. Food and clothes on theme. It was like valentines throw up. “If we hurry we can be there while the sun is setting!” I pulled on her hands but she held on tightly and pulled me back.
“No,” What? She lets go of my hand and picks up her phone. “Me and our other friends are going.” I see her sending a text. “Since you didn’t want to go with me I called up Ryan.”
“Amy?!”
“No!” She pointed at me to stop. She knew what I was going to say. “We are taking it slow this time.” She walks forward in a threatening way, If I didn’t know Amy I would have stood my ground. She backs me up against the armrest of the couch. “You will stay here and clean this house up and if you are good I will allow you to come with us tomorrow.”
“Do I get a nice dress and a carriage?” She lets out a quick laugh before coming back to character.
“Just for that,” She pulls away looking around. “No phone for you” My eyes widened until I realized I didn’t need it. “You will get it back until the trip is over.” I watch in amusement as she puts it in her purse and grabs her keys. By this time our friends walked out of the garage where they were playing games all ready to go.
“Evil step mother got locked up again?” Raven smiles walking past me.
“That's only because Cinderella here can’t keep her hands off the poison apple,” My cousin came behind her.
“Is that supposed to be Rafe?” Jeremiah questions my cousin Callie. “Wouldn’t he be prince charming?” I roll my eyes, falling back into the couch as they continue to bicker. I’ve grown used to them with the past trip we have gone on but it's still annoying.
“No,” Raven starts. “Prince Charming is that guy, what is his name?”
“Matthew?” My eyes open to stare at the ceiling. Matthew was nice, but not the one I wanted.
“Yeah that one!” Raven answered excitedly. “He even looks like Prince Charming.” I was thankful for Amy coming back into the room.
“What are yall still doing here!” I could hear their shoes squeak as they started scattering out the door. “Bye!” I only raise my hand waving at her. “Have fun!” Then the door slammed shut. I groan sliding off the couch. With enough strength I stood up and looked around. Each couple had their own room and so did Amy and I so cleaning their room was not needed. I flinch hearing the house phone start ringing.
“Shit,” I whisper, walking closer. This reminds me of the scene from Scream, who still has home phones? “Hello?” My anxiety was only given two seconds before the other person answered but in those two seconds every scary movie scene flashed through my mind
“Hey,” Somehow this one didn’t. The voice was one I dreamed off. The voice I have fallen asleep too. The voice I was longing to hear for a month. Rafe.
“Why are you calling me?” It felt nice, like when I first met Rafe.
“I missed you,” That took my breath away. Reminds me of when I was crushing on him. He was the popular boy and I stayed behind the scene, who would have known that boy was paying attention to me.
“How did you get this phone?” I smile. The airbnb didn’t even provide the house phone number.
“I got my ways,” I hold back a laugh
“Yeah, I know how persuasive you can be,” I lean against the entrance table, twirling the phone line over my finger. I hear his laugh on the other side then it dies. At this moment it was only me and him. Just like we held each other that one night, the only noise was our breathing.
“You miss me?” I push myself off turning to set my hand on the table. I had to be smart.
“Maybe,” I say, barely a whisper, hoping he might not have heard me.
“You don’t need to say anything, I can feel you missing me.” He was good at sweet talking, I loved his voice.
“You know me that well?” I joke, I didn’t know what I was expecting.
“Baby I know everything about you.” I closed my eyes, I could imagine him whispering in my ear. “I know your body. I know your mind, and fuck, I love how much I know your heart.” I had to take a deep inhale to refocus my brain. “Tell me I'm lying,” I know what he was really asking. Here I was again, looking up at the ceiling like it was going to show me the right answer. Rafe asked me the same thing when we broke up. He wanted to know if I loved him. He wanted to know if I would stick by him. A month ago I was just as scared as I am now.
“Rafe,” I whisper hoping he would catch my plea.
“Baby tell me. Tell me anything.” No amount of deep breath will help clear my mind. “Tell me you miss me. Tell me you want to see me. Tell how you crave me just as much as I crave you.”
“Rafe shut up before I say something I shouldn’t,” It was like an automated message, Rafe was always teasing me and he knew how to get what he wanted.
“Like,” I groan, pulling the phone away from my ear. I turn to look at the table, how easy it would be to slam the phone down and unplug it. How easy,
“Come over,” I could feel his usual grin radiating on the other side of the phone.
“I don’t even know where you are,” I could hear shuffling from his side.
“I thought you had your ways,” If it wasn’t obvious, I wanted him here. I didn’t have to say it out loud, he knew it too. Rubbing my face I shook my head, I also had pride.  “If you don’t then that's okay, we don’t have to do this again.” Quicker than I could blink I hear a scoff on the other side.
“I'm coming.”
“Rig-” The deadline noise cuts me off. That loser hung up on me. I had to hold back from slamming the phone on the receiver. My feet moved faster than I released, my hands aching to do something because my nerves were bouncing off the walls. I tried to ignore the ticking from the clock as I started to clean up the place but I noticed every minute that passed. “Amy is going to kiss me,” Whispering it didn’t help my conscience. Whatever Rafe and I had ended a month ago. I met him on vacation and we stayed in contact after I went back home. It was a good pastime, I enjoyed texting him all day and at nights, I enjoyed hearing his voice on the phone. What got me was how he traveled to see me, that boy truly knew how to get a girl to swoon. Unfortunately after a couple of months, it became difficult to see each other, so I decided to end it before it went too far. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a knock on the door. Rushing over and pulling it open (I could easily be a target in a horror movie.), there standing was Rafe.
“So,” He said calmly, stepping in making me step back. “Are we doing this again?” His hand wrapped over the door handle, ready to walk out or shut it behind him. His eyes, a calm storm. He was trying to see what my eyes held before my mouth could speak. With his stance he was giving me space, he was telling me that I could tell him to leave, and he would. Shyly, I start to nod. I step forward placing my hand on his chest, my gaze moving down to follow my fingers.
“Yes, I think it's only fair to give this a chance,” Looking up through my lashes I see a faint smile on the corner of his lips. “There has to be a reason why we can’t seem to stay away, don’t you think?” He lets out a chuckle. This was familiar, like two best friends, best friends who kissed once in a while. “Close the door?” I give him a smile. My hand moved down to grip his free one. I turn my body to lead him into the living room but he doesn’t budge. “Something wrong?” I was confused.
“Where’s Amy?” Biting my lips didn’t help me hold back a laugh. His eyes started to look around for any sign of her. “Look,” He tries to get my attention. “I can take on the world for you but that friend of yours,” My laugh calms down seeing how genuinely worried he was. “Her threats are creative, they got me thinking the only way she knows about them it's because she has actually done them.”
“Then I guess it's a good thing she isn’t here and won’t be for another 3 hours,” With both hands now gripping his free one I pull on him harder. He gives in and allows me to pull him as he closes the door behind him. Eagerly I sat on the couch, patting the spot beside me.
“How come they left you alone?” He settles down as I settle closer to him, wrapping the throw blanket over us. The smell of his cologne wasn’t strong, it was that subtle, calming, smell that I remember every time I think of him.
“Amy left me here to clean because apparently I’ve been a little sour.” His chest vibrates when he laughs. My head falls to his chest as I try to nozzle closer to him.
“Wonder why,” He lets it out like a sigh, like it was obvious.
“It wasn’t because of you,” I say nonchalantly.
“Really?” He pulls back, making me sit up. I nod. “Because I on the other hand,” He moves closer, placing his hands on my cheeks. “Have been really sad,” If he were further away I would laugh at his attempt to be coy and romantic. His voice was low and there was a faint pout forming on his lips. But right now? As he pulls me closer and closer? I am melting. His presence was so close that I could feel his warm breath against my skin. “Missing you,” I could feel my soul trying to escape so that it could break the space between us. His intoxicating blue eyes teasing me, “missing your laugh,” I automatically close my eyes as he places a kiss on my nose. My hand immediately finds his wrist but I only have the power to grip the cloth of his sleeves. “Missing your voice and your ways that you make me feel happy,” I could feel him even closer. Missing him all these months I have learned to picture him, every detail of him with my eyes closed. The curves of his lips, that perfect shade of his blue eyes, the small scar on his forehead, and the way he smiles. “At least tell me you missed me a little,” I held my breath, of course I did.
“I did,” It was a exasperated sigh,
“Yeah?” I know he was matching my slight smile. “Care to share?” There it was, that giddy feeling at the bottom of my stomach. As I opened my eyes slowly I found us with barely any space, his lips so close I could taste him. If he knew me so well, with my eyes he could tell what I couldn’t say. Not because I was scared or didn’t feel them, I couldn’t say it because he made me that nervous.
“I missed your lips,” His eyes flicker between mine and when a pure smile appeared on his face, I knew he was telling the truth. We were saying what we couldn’t admit at the moment.
“Me too,” He whispered. A double meaning, me too.

Note
I read your ‘Curly is not an abuser’ post over on twitter and started crying. My thoughts were “f@cking finally, someone who might’ve gotten it,” because the main reason I was crying was because I deeply relate to Curly in some ways. With how everyone was saying ‘Curly is an Abuser!’ ‘Curly is a bad person!’ I started to feel about bit bad about myself because of that.
We both have a hard time getting the underlined meaning of things or hints, whether it’s in story, talked about, or shown. We don’t see it until someone quite literally points it out to us or just start talking about the hidden meaning. I also believe me and Curly are too trusting or lax in some ways. Like not being able to see the bad in people we are close to or talk often with. We might even know about some of the bad qualities beforehand and can still be strung along and be play like an instrument. I also believe that Curly with even a thought of abusing anyone would throw himself before doing. He might even throw himself faster if he actually did that, accident or not.
That is not to say Curly is completely innocent or not to be blamed at all. Those qualities I stated before, while good, are a double edged sword like any other qualities. If we are not careful with them we could end up hurting people around us or ourselves, or get into a big mess of things. That is what Curly should be hold accounted for. Even than, with how people make out to be an abuser I don’t think they can reasonably hold him accountable in the right way, and I am not sure if that makes me sadder.
I totally get where you're coming from Anon. That kind of attitude, being lax, trusting and a constant mediator isn't inherently a problem. It was the circumstances that turned that so volatile. If Jimmy wasn't who he was and so readily abusive then Curly's character would not be that detrimental, and his actions would not have such a catastrophic impact. And everyone immediately boiling down those harmless traits and villainising them does much more harm than good, especially since the character they should be targeting is Jimmy, not Curly.
Looking at it through Curly's eyes he was just doing the best he could in that situation, and it's even more understandable especially with exactly what he does. He tries to completely bubble Jimmy into this sense of just him and Curly, he makes no mention of anyone else, nothing else. He grounds him, "It's just us" or "we will figure it out", this is fawning. He's appealing to the perpetrator to reduce the fallout in any way. Which is definitely something he has done previously as mentioned in the How Fish Is Made DLC and Curly's little monologue about how it's just another trip, just until he gets what he needs, that he has big plans!
This is definitely something Curly used on Jimmy, and even more with how quickly he shuts down at the birthday party he is used to this, and Jimmy has been abusing him for a very long time. Long enough to put the seeds of doubt in Curly to not make him question or argue against his treatment.
And you're right about Curly throwing himself infront of everyone because he does it literally. The most important part that everybody overlooks is how determined he is to get to the cockpit as the ship is crashing. He knows its crashing but all he can do is try, he could have ran away, but he didn't. And again with how after Anya tells Jimmy about her pregnancy, Curly says that she should have waited for him because he wanted to be there just in case.
Curly took responsibility multiple different times that is easily overlooked because so much happens in such a short time span that people literally think he had months between knowing about Anya being raped and then the crash when it was barely a day. Just like how people easily overlook the dead pixel scene and how it also represents something to Curly as well, and just like how people overlook Anya's "I told you so"
This game is multifaceted with the biggest, main issue of all being Pony Express' negligence and abuse towards their employees which then weakens the vulnerable and enables people like Jimmy. It happens all the time in real life absolutely everywhere. All of this could have been entirely avoided if they weren't neglecting the safety of their most vulnerable and had actual locks on the doors.
Curly's kind, forgiving and trusting nature is not inherently bad. It was how it was used against him in an extremely difficult situation, which is exactly what Abusers do time and time again. He failed Anya in such a delicate way and in such a difficult situation, but its something to understand that Pony Express failed her first, failed her in all the most important ways by even allowing a situation like this to happen. It was Jimmy's responsibility to not be a rapist, but it was Pony Express for even enabling that in the first place.

Rodger’s World AU | Rodger’s Detective Agency
Tumblr media
Rodger is my favorite Dandy’s World character aside from Connie and I had this idea because of a DIFFERENT universe that me and my moots have. I’ve been working on expanding the main Rodger’s World concept because of that. I may post more about it if people are interested!
Character summaries below the cut
Rodger
“The main character of Rodger’s World. Formed the team that is the Gardenview Detectives. It’s all his fault.”
Rodger is extremely different in this AU from his canon counterpart. His in show personality is much like his canon game personality just with a little bit more enthusiasm, but his toon counterpart is significantly different. Instead of insisting on working alone cause of a sense of confidence, he more wants to work alone because he doesn’t want to drag people into things they aren’t ready for. Instead of being stoic and wise, he’s in-your-face enthusiastic and bubbly to an almost concerning degree. The kids who used to visit Gardenview liked the kinder Rodger, but it unsettled the other mains who knew something wasn’t quite right.
After the center closed, Rodger closed himself off from others but insisted he had a plan to make things right.
Brightney
“A main character of Rodger’s World. Her role in the detective’s agency is to answer and react to calls for help, making sure the crew and any one else that’s needed to help for the case is there when they’re needed. Considering herself a secretary of sorts, she also takes brief notes of everything important mentioned during investigations.”
Brightney, in episodes not focusing on a group mystery, was often paired with the more popular Connie (who in the show, haunts Brightney’s library home). As toons, Brightney and Connie are very close (yes this au is still ghostlight propaganda), but Connie can tell how much it bothers Brightney to be less liked as in other toon & main duos, the main was still more popular. She tries to push down these inferior feelings though, instead trying to focus on helping wherever she can in gardenview.
After the center closed and Rodger began to close himself off more, Brightney was the one to try and motivate the other toons again, pulling together a team to try and solve why Gardenview closed, though only really was effective after the more influential Teagan and Glisten stood with her.
Glisten
“A main character of Rodger’s World. His role in the detective’s agency is to help with crime scene investigation. Glisten has an extreme eye for detail. He’s able to scope out any suspicious objects that would be out of place in the scene thanks to his detail oriented mind.”
Glisten, before joining the detective agency, was a dancer and good friends with Boxten, a composer. Boxten often wrote and performed the music that Glisten would dance to. Even after Glisten left to join the detective agency, the two remained friends and Glisten would perform on nights where he was free. However, this would unintentionally pull Boxten into cases he had no involvement in. As toons this connection remained (the two are essentially Sprout and Cosmo).
Glisten tried to be an emotional crutch for Rodger after Gardenview closed but it didn’t take long for him to realize Rodger still had the stubbornness he was written with and no amount of talking was going to change his mind. So, Glisten gave up and joined Brightney’s plan to figure out why Gardenview closed.
Teagan
“A main character of Rodger’s World. Her role in the detective’s agency is to interview people related to the case. As a former member of rich nobility, Teagan is trained in the art of conversing, able to get information from suspects and witnesses through pleasant chats and formalities.”
Teagan keeps a lot of her motherly qualities in this version, though has more moments reminiscent of Toriel from Undertale, where she’s loving, but can be overbearing, and can be very scary at times too. Her and Rodger were written as pseudo love interests within the show, never explicitly saying they were together or having any flirting, just generally giving the impression that they were a couple (to the point many kids and parents were surprised to hear that they weren’t when visiting Gardenview).
This unfortunately has given them a dynamic similar to an awkwardly divorced couple post-shutdown, where Rodger tries to be overly nice and Teagan is more disgusted than anything. She sees Rodger closing himself off as cowardly and his kindness when he does see people as a facade. She wants to help the rest of the toons but less for their sake and more to show that she’s not second to Rodger.
Tisha
“A main character of Rodger’s World. Her role in the detective’s agency is to keep things neat and tidy around the office and during cases! She always keeps track of the evidence found so that nothing gets overlooked! Without her, things would be in complete chaos!”
Tisha is the least popular of the mains. She’s essentially a janitor or maid in show after all, but she doesn’t mind it as much as Brightney. She has her cult following and that’s enough for her. She finds humans to be extremely unpredictable in a way she doesn’t like, making her seem kind of rude to visitors. She tends to attract kids who are neurodivergent since they relate to various parts of her character, whether it be her need for organization or her more closed off and mellow personality compared to the rest of the mains. It’s made her question whether she was written to be neurodivergent herself.
She wasn’t as panicked as everyone else when Gardenview closed, but as time went on she got more anxious about what it meant for them in the long run, not to mention the change in everyone’s behaviors, and she hopped on very fast when Brightney suggested trying to figure out what happened.
Toodles & Spots
“A main character of Rodger’s World. Her role in the detective’s agency is to… well, she doesn’t actually have a role. She’s more like Rodger’s sidekick, since she isn’t quite old enough to do much work herself! Luckily, she has her Imaginary Friend and stuffed animal Spots by her side! Together, they always end up solving the final piece of the puzzle!”
Toodles had a very comedic role in the show as she was often left behind with her babysitters, Scraps and Goob, and had to find increasingly more creative ways to escape them and go to help with the case. Of course none of this could be possible without the help of Spots, her plush dog. As well as being her plush, Spots was also Toodles’ imaginary friend. Spots sort of was like an audience self insert in a way, where somehow he could figure out things about the case others couldn’t, tell Toodles, and Toodles would tell Rodger to help him solve the cases, always being justified with Toodles having a mind like no other.
Toodles was incredibly distressed after Gardenview closed, as it wasn’t only the visitors that stopped appearing, but Toodles lost spots around the same time and couldn’t see him in her imagination without the physical toy there. All the other mains tried to comfort her as best as possible, but what hurt the most was the distance that her father figure, Rodger, was taking from everyone. Though he always reassured her everything would be ok, that they would find spots and everything would go back to normal, Toodles was smart enough to know that wasn’t going to happen.
Shortly after Brightney’s search team is formed, Toodles disappears.

author's note: a little self-indulgent fic 'cause i had a bad day at volleyball practice. and ended up with a bloody nose:/
this is for all my athelete girlies who had a bad day at practice.
it sucks, i know. but the world doesn't end because of one bad day.
you are good enough. <33
featuring characters — SUGUWARA, DAICHI, KUROO, ASAHI, IWAIZUMI, OIKAWA, IWAIZUMI, OSAMU, AKAASHI
Tumblr media
main masterlist !
the coach's decision to bench you during the previous match had hit you like a punch to the gut. you had stood on the sidelines, watching the game unfold without you, your mind swimming with self-doubts and insecurities.
the coach's words echoed in your head:
"what has gotten into you?!"
"you just weren't giving us what we needed then,"
the words stung, and you couldn't shake off the sense of worthlessness. you had watched your teammates play, and every mistake they made or point they lost had only fueled your doubts.
the feeling of not being good enough intensified, your confidence crumbling with each passing moment.
you felt your knee begin to bounce, worry bubbling within you. your breath coming out in low gasps and exhales.
you felt utterly worthless as if you didn't deserve to be on the team. the weight of your own failures and inadequacies seemed to pile up on you, pressing down on your chest and making it hard to breathe.
you couldn't help but believe that you had let everyone down, that you weren't cut out for this, and that everyone could see it.
you pressed down at your chest, inhaling and exhaling, trying to get your anxiety in check. you could feel your pulse increasing, a steady rise in thumping. sweat rolled down your temple, making its way down your trembling face.
the match was a tough one, with you making a series of costly mistakes that led to a 13-25 defeat.
it was a mere practice match, but that didn't make the loss any less brutal.
as you stood by the bench, watching the coach and your teammates discussing the strategy for the next match, you couldn't help but feel like you didn't deserve to be there.
your breathing became more shallow, and you wrung your hands at your sides, shaking them to drive the tension out of your body.
every failed play, every missed shot, every wrong decision replayed in your mind like a broken record.
for now, your pulse had slowed from the initial panic, but a new kind of pressure seemed to take its place.
your heart felt like it was being squeezed tightly, like a vice gripped it with relentless force. each breath felt labored, as though your chest was filled with a heavy weight that threatened to crush you.
you questioned your abilities and your place on the team, wondering if you were really up for the position.
Tumblr media
you trudged into the apartment after the match, feeling utterly defeated.
"there's my girl!" your boyfriend greeted you with a warm smile, "how did the match go?"
but your mood was so low that you could only manage a brief, half-hearted hug and a muttered greeting, "hi. was okay,"
he frowned at your lack of enthusiasm, his concern deepening when you didn't kiss him in greeting.
you made a beeline for the bedroom, shutting the door behind you and collapsing onto the bed.
the solitude of the room allowed your thoughts to run wild, as doubts and insecurities threatened to drown you.
you were consumed with a sense of failure and the weight of disappointment that came right with it.
i'm so bad at this game
maybe i should quit
my coach must think i suck
the team is better off without me-
you sat up slowly, facing the full-length mirror on the side of the room.
your eyes raked over the jersey you were wearing, down to the number on it.
your vision blurred and you swiped at them angrily.
angry at your inability to perform to your fullest potential.
angry at your-fucking pathetic-self
"y/n," he came into the room and kneeled in front of you. he had an idea of what may have happened and reached your side at once.
you turned away, not wanting to be seen in this sorry state. weak and fragile.
what good am i for him anyway if I'm so broken?
you pushed away that thought, feeling your throat close up, "i don't wanna talk about it,"
everything annoyed you at this point. the air of failure and agony around you, the rapid beating of your merciless heart, low breaths that came out as huffs, the jersey number you wore with utmost humiliation.
he held your face in his hands, thumbs caressing your cheekbone, "hug or talk?"
it was a common phrase that you both used in a severe case of bad days.
"neither," you mumbled, not yet meeting his eyes.
he knew it meant you were in desperate need of a hug. you were just too prideful to ask for it.
"what is it, love? is it something i can help with?" he prodded, "is it the game?"
you stilled, pursing your lips, confirming your boyfriend's statement.
"it was so so bad. the worst by far. i don't know what the fuck i was doing. i was so shit-faced," you rambled, "i feel useless. I'm so behind others. maybe i should just quit, instead of making a fool of myself," you covered your face with your palms, fingers digging into your teary eyes.
his heart ached as he saw your lips tremble. he could see the doubt and vulnerability in your eyes, and it only served to strengthen his determination to make you believe him.
"hey, listen to me. it's okay to be disappointed about the game. but you didn't mess up. you did your best, and that's all that matters. everyone makes mistakes, and it's part of the game. you can't blame yourself for everything, okay?"
you shook your head slowly in denial, jaw ticking as you struggled to hold yourself together.
his heart broke at your devastated condition, "baby, don't do this to yourself. i know you're upset and probably blaming yourself for what happened, but you have to understand that it's not all your fault. it's a team sport, and everyone makes mistakes. you can't dwell on it and beat yourself up over it. that's not going to help anything,"
"i could've helped it!" you snapped, "i could've helped it if i-i-," you sputtered, searching for the right words, "if i wasn't such a fucking loser," you added the last bit in a shaky voice and the dam broke.
he rested his forehead against yours in comfort, watching the way tears cascaded down your cheeks, "that's not true. don't talk about yourself like that. you're not a loser. you're a determined and talented athlete. you just had a bad game, that's all. one day doesn't define you as a person or as a player. you work hard, and i know you'll do better next time,"
"i feel like i've lost myself," you mumbled weakly.
despite hearing the defeated tone in your voice, he noticed your bouncing knee, the rapid breathing, the rage- oh my god
"baby, i need you to take deep breaths for me, okay? i'm pretty sure you're experiencing an anxiety attack,"
"i have for the past 3 hours," you sniffled, knowing it very well. you screwed your eyes shut and forcing more hot tears down your cheeks, "i can't stop it. it won't stop. it hurts too much but-" you gasped for air, "i deserve all this pain don't i?"
"shh, shh," he sat on the bed next to you, pulling you onto his side and wrapping his arms around you.
his heart ached when you whimpered and he rested his chin on the top of your head. he could feel the tension and self-doubt radiating off of you, wanting nothing more to soothe your worries.
"no you don't deserve it," he held you tighter, feeling you sob silently against his chest, "don't carry this around," he peppered kisses on your hair, holding you against his large frame, "you're not alone, mkay?"
"i don't even know why i'm crying," you sniffled, "god, i need to get a grip,"
"no, it's okay. let it out. nothing wrong in that, you don't need to justify your emotions. i'll hold you through it,"
he held you tighter as you sobbed, his hand rubbing your back in slow, soothing circles.
he didn't say anything, just let you cry and release your emotions, his body serving as a source of comfort and support.
he talked you through it, whispering into your ear until you calmed from your anxiety peak.
"that's it. you're dooing so well. give me deep breaths, just like that. mm good girl," he whispered, his voice soft. "it's okay. just let it out. i'm here. i'm not going anywhere,"
he reached up a hand to wipe away the tear, his touch gentle and tender, "what do you say i draw you a bath, huh?"
"will u join me?" you looked up at him with hopeful eyes, red from all the waterworks.
"i want you to run me over with a car, if i ever say no to that question, ever," he stated in a monotone voice, causing you to let out a teary chuckle.
Tumblr media
and so you and your lover were relaxing in the bathtub, surrounded by a warm, comforting glow of candlelight. the soothing heat of the water was helping to loosen your tense muscles, and the bubble-filled surface created a private, intimate space for the two of you.
as you sat nestled between his legs with your back to his chest, he listened quietly, his eyes fixed on you as you vented about your frustrations with the recent game.
he didn't interrupt, but rather offered a sympathetic nod or gentle touch, letting you speak your mind and release your pent-up stress.
"-and then the next thing i knew, i got benched," you shrugged weakly, biting your lip in thought.
he kissed your hair and you eaned back into his body, "s'okay, darling," he soothed.
you huffed in annoyance, waving your hand through the water.
He spoke gently, his voice soft and reassuring in the quiet intimacy of the bathtub. "y/n, you're incredible. I've watched you play and you become possessed by the game, completely pouring your passion into it. and i admire it. how much heart and soul you put into every game. I'm proud of you,"
his words caught you off guard, feeling how much it touched you. no one has ever told you that. and it felt foreign.
like you didn't deserve to hear it.
you hummed in response, grateful that he couldn't see the vulnerable expression on your face.
but he knew you well, and he recognized the underlying emotions behind your subtle reactions.
he gently tilted your head over your shoulder, looking at you intently. "look at me," he said, his voice firm but caring.
as you met his gaze, he repeated his words with a sincerity that resonated deep within your soul. "i'm proud of you," he said again, his voice filled with conviction.
as you processed his words, you felt a mixture of emotions stirring within you. you nodded, managing a weak smile, but the weight of his words and the raw vulnerability they stirred up made you inhale sharply.
it felt like he was touching upon something deep within you, something fragile yet beautiful.
gently, he shifted your position so that you were now straddling him in the water, creating a soft, rippling barrier in the warm, candlelit bath.
he caressed your thigh under the water, the contact sending shivers down your spine. his other hand held your chin, keeping your gaze locked on him, "I am proud of you," he repeated, the truth of his words reflected in his steady eyes.
you could feel tears welling up in your eyes. the variety of emotions building within you were almost too much to contain.
he pulled you closer, his arms enveloping you in a tight, loving hug, and pressed his lips to yours in a firm kiss.
you reciprocated the action, resting your hand on the side of his face. the bubbles and water were like a soft, warm cocoon around you both.
he hugged you, rubbing soothing circles on your back. he held you close, anchoring you in the moment with his love.
the water lapped around you both, creating a gentle, lulling rhythm. he trailed his lips down your jaw, cheek and to the column of your neck.
"but i'm not just talking about your skills," he continued, his voice growing softer as he spoke. "i'm proud of the person you are. you're strong, determined, and fiercely passionate. you never give up, no matter how tough things get." his words hung in the air, filling the quiet space with a sense of warmth and reassurance.
you could feel yourself starting to relax in his arms, the weight of his words and their implication slowly seeping into your heart.
you leaned forward and rested your forehead against his, letting his words into your hurting heart.
his thumb traced lazy patterns on your back and his other hand gently massaged your thigh, the contact creating a trail of sparks that raced under your skin.
he let the moment linger, giving you time to process the emotions his words had stirred up. the water continued to ripple gently around you as if echoing the turbulence within you.
"you're amazing," he finally said, breaking the silence, "amazing, and worthy, and strong. and i am proud of you for that. always,"
you felt a lump forming in your throat again, the raw honesty in his voice almost too much to bear.
but you also felt a strange sense of relief, as if his words were like a balm to the bruised parts of your soul.
the tears started flowing again, but this time they were different. they were born out of a mixture of gratitude, love, and a quiet acceptance of the truth in his words.
he held you through it, not saying anything else, but just being there for you.
and that was all you needed.

"wild" Anon is perfect tbh...
Do you have any tips for writing? The last time I touched fanfiction, I was 16 or so. Soooo... Over a decade ago. I have an idea for a Viktor x Reader that I'm desperate to get out but I can't write, let alone write someone else's character 😭
-🏕️
Wild Anon, hello again!
I don’t have any universal tips because I’m a newbie, I also believe different things work for different people but I can tell you what I do, outside of succumbing to the demon that consumes my mind day and night.
I use a lot of visual aids, like miro boards, not to flood with with Pinterest pics (though they get there too) but to write down loose ideas, put them in nice little bubbles so they are easy to read back.
I make myself playlists depending on the mood I want for the fic.
I bounce ideas off people and have my friends from here proof read my stuff!
I have a fat notebook with words and phrases I like which I write down by hand, it helps me to remember them as I’m not an English native speaker. It’s very messy so I spend a lot of time searching through it, a complete opposite to my miro boards.
When I have an idea to start something I usually end up writing a scene between main characters that takes place waaay later and craft around it. It gets moved around and rewritten and sometimes doesn’t make it to the fic but serves as a foundation for the idea. For The Game it was the hand scene from chapter five, for D&M it’s their first kiss (yes I promise they will kiss, as is written). You know that meme with the horse right?
I write down dialogues by talking with myself, which is a testament to my madness, because you can catch me washing up and audibly roleplaying a scene and then going ‘hmm would he say that?’
And for writing Viktor, I honestly feel like I often write him OOC for the purpose of my own indulgence, but you guys seem to not notice/like it. So it makes me think that what matters is writing out a human being rather than a perfect version of the existing character. Other than that, I use certain phrasing, like I’d rather go with perhaps than maybe and certain than sure. But then he will go and say for fucks sake because it just fits the moment. Arcane has so many characters and so little time that most of the characterizing is done with heavy strokes and fandom fills in the rest. So we can take some liberties without causing a butterfly effect tornado. Things I always keep in mind is his disability and him being Czech and I just play around with those concepts.
And when I’m closing in on a burnout I go and read some unrelated books to give my mind a rest from my own phrasing.
And! Having said all that (sorry for such a long response lol), it's just good to remember you are doing this for fun so the final product doesn't have to be perfect.
Good luck!

Complaining about the final boss in Shadow of the Erdtree, both in terms of lore and mechanics. Spoilers for the end of Shadow of the Erdtree:
Part 1: The Lore
I think the ending is really good and foreshadowed well in it's own story. I think it is fitting and well told. But it isn't living in its own bubble. It exists in context to a previous story directly connected to it. In the context of the entirety of Elden Ring, it sucks.
If we were just dropped in the Shadow Realm and the main game didn't exist, it would be really, REALLY good. The problem arises when also having the context of who Miquella was in the base game. His motivations in the DLC retcon the motivations from the lore of the base game. And the retcon is worse. The thing that made him fascinating was that he was the only compassionate character among Marika's children, the only one who didn't care about petty power plays because he was focused on helping people and helping his sister. That it is revealed he is just as shallow and self-centered as the rest, so much as to be willing to endanger his sister in exchange for a consort after all the lore surrounding how he wanted to help her, takes away the facets that made him unique.
This may also contribute to why there are two general camps of people who like or don't like how Miquella is portrayed. There have been a couple of years between the original game and now. Memories of the original game's lore--if people even read those particular bits of item descriptions in the first place--have had time to fade.
However, I acknowledge that item descriptions in Elden Ring intentionally have author biases. It could be said that every Miquella-related item description was told from the perspective of someone bewitched. That would make a lot of sense.
So in the end, this also is a personal preference. I think that Miquella turning out to be a brat who will sacrifice his sister for his consort is much less interesting than him being motivated to do bad things for his sister.
This leads into the overlap between pure lore discussion and mechanics.
Part 2: I CAN'T FUCKING SEE
The last boss fight is shit. Part of what convinced people that the leaks were fake, not considering lore implications, is that many people looked at the attacks that were happening and judged them to be bad.
As someone with a passing understanding of editing animations and moves in a game, something that can be done with little modding skill to create a new enemy is to use existing animations and add new effects to them. People were convinced the fight was fake because of how many moves looked similar to ones from previous FromSoft bosses with lightning effects glued on. I cannot speak to the alleged copied animations in this fight, since I don't have experience with every FromSoft game, but I don't actually think reusing old bosses and animations is inherently a bad thing. The real complaint was that it looked to be both reused animations and extra effects.
Stretch new textures over existing enemies, increase the speed of their attacks, and then add events to those attacks that spawn a bunch of effects like explosions, or lightning bolts. These are all things I could do with my limited knowledge. These are the things that some mods have done, and have gotten ridiculed for. The ridicule is because doing that demonstrates a shallow understanding of what makes a fight not just hard, but fun.
I'm no master of boss design myself, but I can say with confidence that spamming incredibly long attack chains containing effects that blind the player and prevent them from seeing the next move in the chain is bad game design. Something that has been established as an unspoken but understood rule in souls-genre games is that you should be able to dodge an attack while standing point blank in front of the enemy. Whether this is by rolling, jumping, or running away, you know what's happening from seeing the start of the enemy's animation, and you should be able to escape being hit by the attack. I also argue that by this metric, Waterfowl Dance is a badly designed move, but I digress.
Waterfowl Dance is one move in an otherwise stellar boss fight.
In the DLC final fight, I. can't. see.
The screen is covered in lightning for at least 1/3rd of the battle, often making dodging a game of guess and hope. I 100% acknowledge that I was not good at that fight, and that many of the attacks that hit me were dodge-able if I'd learned them more. But some of them were chains of attacks that demanded I blindly learn a random rhythm of button presses. On account of all the lightning from the previous attack hiding the next swing.
One of the things I actually did like about the fight was the grab being a guaranteed 2HKO regardless of health values. It would have been a great gimmick on a better fight. Where I had a better probability of seeing it so I could dodge it.
I also liked the warp-in speed effects of the boss jumping in, although such warps felt very buggy.
Were the lightning effects transparent or otherwise did not obscure the battle so terribly, I wonder what kind of fight it would actually be. Maybe the attack chains only feel unreasonable to dodge to me because I cannot see what is happening in them. It is possible that the fight itself is just bad, and the lightning is, just like in a bad mod, being used as a crutch to hide a very boring, simple moveset.
But it is impossible for me, in the game's current state, to imagine how that fight might play.
Because I can't see shit.
Part 3: The Remembrance
Turning in the remembrance and a duplicate of it just to end up with a total of 3 Radahn swords I think really shows the lack of creativity under the lightning. That is what the essence of the DLC final boss distills down to: 2 variations of a sword we already have.
If the fight had been something COMPLETELY different, perhaps we would have gotten something interesting from Miquella's side of the pair. Something that bewitches a struck enemy? I don't know.
The last fight was a spectacle, but only due to all the fancy effects that it vomited everywhere. Remove them, and I suspect there exists an uninspired base.

Hello! after seeing the translation req from the anon in the server and your reply to them, I considered asking for the same here. I'd like if you translated FP's 2nd stage song, 'bunch of roses', although I understand that you're not able to focus on this currently but I considered dropping in the req anyway. Thank you!!!
Sure thing!
I always get tripped up by FP songs because they're so vibes-dependent... Much of what makes them fun is the rhyme and wordplay, and without that, I feel like you're losing half the song. So for this translation, I incorporated simple rhyme and wordplay whenever the song uses either. I also tried to line up rhymes with the source whenever possible--ie, if someone says something weird for rhyming purposes in Japanese, that's where the rhyme would go in English. I did not incorporate rhythm or line length considerations because that way madness lies... (*cough* the beast of Torima sitting in my drafts *cough*) Finally, I made an effort to avoid my usual verbosity/line bloating with...somewhat middling results...and made an effort to stick very close to the source. I'm attempting a style more similar to Hypmic_en/official subs, basically.
Instances where I added ideas or wanted to talk about interesting wordplay are noted in the extensive notes. Casual readers are encouraged to skip them; I have made no egregious additions to the text.
The somewhat twee nature of this TL is the byproduct of me rhyming and not being an especially good writer haha. Similarly, slightly inconsistent character voice are byproducts of my limited abilities. I feel like this would be less obvious in subtitle form, but... Oh well. To the song!
Shibuya's bunch of roses Just a bunch of us blooming however we supposes [1] A bunch [2] of very different guys Who, together, can still harmonize [3] In a city that's hectic, [4] Its culture, eclectic, Each person's story stands the test of time And weaves together into a single rhyme. I know you, and you know me: Rows of different roses [5] in harmony.
Ramuda: Up first is me! Dice: Nuh-uh, I'm ready! Gentarou: If I may intercede... Ramuda: Whatever! Whoever wants to go first, you're free! Dice: This game gives me a rush; watch me throw down a fat stack. Next thing I know, I've got no money. But at least Gen's got my back! Gentarou: That I don't. You shirk your debts as a matter of course. These ideas then spray across Shibuya with a spatter of force. [6] Ramuda: We're the perfect pairing [7], a music-making clique! Our dope rhymes have a vibe that's perfectly unique! Dice: Which is what? I dunno, I'll just keep rolling the dice. Keep looking forward and never think twice! Gentarou: How quaint. Tonight's a party as short-lived and airy-fairy As a bubble, fictions, and truths floating down the Udagawa tributary [8] Ramuda: Anyone can pull the lever and set the reels a-trundle. [9] All: Even when we're doing our own thing, we make an awesome bundle!
Shibuya's bunch of roses Just a bunch of us blooming however we supposes A bunch of very different guys Who, together, can still harmonize In a city that's hectic, Its culture, eclectic, Each person's story stands the test of time And weaves together into a single rhyme. I know you, and you know me: Rows of different roses in harmony.
Dice: I'm the kind of guy who's gotta win it every minute. [10] Nothing to worry 'bout at all, I'll take home the whole haul! Gentarou: Gambling tales are no substance and all style While my stylish crew of friends are substantially worthwhile! [11] Ramuda: C'mon, let's go! All together now, not alone Chasing after freedom, bypassing what's set in stone Dice: Forget all the scolding and naysayers C'mon, Shibuya! We still gotta be the main players. Gentarou: Even if it won't last long, let's all make an accord That a friend is someone not to be hurt, but adored [12] Ramuda: That's the goal! That's the plan! Here in this culture center There's always something happening; everyone's welcome to enter Dice: It's 'cause we blend together that we're friends forever. Gentarou: When we go our separate ways, there's a part of you in me that stays. [13] Ramuda: When we each shout out our love the way it appears in our hearts, All: Each of our colors bleeds together into a whole bigger than the sum of its parts.
Ramuda: C'mon, everyone say it with me! (Yeah!) [14] No more boring battles, do we agree? (Yeah!) Dice: Our Posse's ahead of the times! (Yeah!) [15] Dropping all the dopest, chicest rhymes! (Yeah!) Gentarou: Let's use our words and put this place to rights! (Yeah!) Let's do away with all the petty fights! (Yeah!) All: Let's put our heads together Ramuda: And dream up a universe Dice: Where no one, no matter how "unique," Gentarou: Is ever treated any worse. All: Help us make this world not a myth: a place where no one's laughed at, but laughed with! [16]
Shibuya's bunch of roses Just a bunch of us blooming however we supposes A bunch of quite different guys Who, together, can still harmonize In a city that's hectic, Its culture, eclectic, Each person's story stands the test of time And weaves together into a single rhyme. I know you, and you know me: Rows of different roses in harmony.
You're in the bunch too All of us blooming in one single crew Each of us different but sharing the same stance [17] And just foolhardy enough to think we may have a chance [18] To share our stories and look to tomorrow Wrapped tight in a light, a mutual glow R-E-S-P-E-C-T A bunch of roses passed between you and me. [19]
Notes: [1] わがのまま (waganomama, as we please) is evocative of わがまま (wagamama, willful). Wagamama often contains a childish connotation, hence why it's often used around Fling Posse and Ramuda in particular. It also means plentiful, which in this case suggests lots and lots of flowers blooming in many colors. Both the notions of lots of color and possessing a strong individual will, even if it's not as conformist as is maybe socially acceptable, are bylines running through the song.
[2] The chorus makes multiple plays on the similarity between バラ (bara, rose) and バラバラ (barabara, varied). Something that's barabara evokes an image of something scattered, like many flowers growing in different places before being gathered together into a single bouquet. Interestingly, barabara is usually negative connoted, and I think it's fascinating how things like this and wagamama appear so often in the song. There's a sense that FP and the Shibuya residents being sung about are acknowledging some societal expectation they're failing to live up to, but from that failure blooms something beautiful.
[3] "One balance" isn't a common phrase in Japanese either, but I'm working off of the idea that it's a singular, shared sense of 調和 (being "balanced," being in accord, sharing common elements). Like a oneness or a harmonization, essentially.
[4] I added the "hectic" idea for the rhyme, but that appears constantly in FP songs, so I don't feel like it's putting words in the characters' mouths.
[5] Same barabara/bara wordplay.
[6] It's vague enough here that I could see an argument for Gentarou saying ideas in general spray out of and across Shibuya, but this particular word for forceful splatter is most often used when other things are caught in the crossfire. Like "So-and-so was hit by a spray of water/so-and-so was embroiled in the aftermath of the murder case." So I applied it to Dice's idea/habit of reneging his debts, but I'm not married to the concept, and you should expect to see it rendered other ways in other translations.
[7] Pairing as in food-wine pairing, which works well with FP's and Shibuya's urban image, but リアージュ (mariaaju, marriage) is playfully worded enough for readers to take away shipping meanings if desired. Incidentally, "music-making clique" was added for the rhyme, but it's nothing that isn't suggested from the source line which is, more literally, "a hot lyrics-producing pairing"
[8] 泡沫 (utakata) is both literally a bubble on the surface of a liquid and something as short-lived or easily destroyed as said bubble. Because Gentarou mentioned the Udagawa river, I had the means to tie both concepts together. Whoo! The Udagawa river is a tributary of the Shibuya river, so I borrowed "tributary" for the rhyme.
[9] As on a gambling machine
[10] More like he has to compete vs. win outright, but I needed "win it" for the rhyme... Forgive me... (The "minute" is from the source's "every instant," so I couldn't drop that.)
[11] Gambling tales are 徒花 (adabana, colorful flowers that don't produce fruit; style over substance). My 色鮮やか (iroazayaka, colorful) friends, my 同胞 (harakara, brethren/homies but ~fancy~). Gentarou doesn't outright say the homies are better like I did, but the notion of color is supposed to make the reader compare the two, and it's in-character for Gentarou to love his homies. See the rest of the song for examples.
[12] This stood out to me as one of the most interesting lines in the whole song. "Let's mutually agree to be people that don't hurt one another." The "hurt" concept isn't for rhyme, so it feels very deliberate. I added the "friend" and "adored" bits for rhyme and flow; as ever, I don't think this is that OoC. (Although "adored" is a bit openly mushy for Gentarou. Eh. Fuck it.)
[13] This doesn't sound quite as wistful in the source, but it's close. Gentarou literally says "[When we part at an] intersection, we don't just go our separate ways" wherein the "go separate ways" is also meant figuratively to not see eye-to-eye, to not be of the same mindset. I unfortunately had to drop the "intersection" idea for space, but FP mentions intersections a lot in their songs, usually as a nod to Shibuya's infamously busy Scramble Crossing.
[14] Part of the reason they're yelling "Yeah!" is because it rhymes with the last syllable of each line. I briefly considered doing the same here (probably with "Word!"; "Yeah!" and "Yes!" are abysmal for rhyming) but that would have taken more time than I was willing to commit. I try to spend no more than an hour on song TLs to prevent overthinking and keep it fun haha.
[15] Technically more like "better than all the rest" but I needed the rhyme... The word Dice uses here, 独走 (dokusou), is interesting in that it ties back into the notion of being unique or atypical that pervades the rest of the song. Literally, to be 独走 is to be running far ahead of the pack to the point of outstripping them. Kind of a lonely concept, right? Hypmic often flirts with the notion of being so good that it's isolating, although this is most often used in MTR or Ichirou's songs. Incidentally, I added "dopest" in the next line because I thought "chicest" on its own would be too OoC for Dice, but I wanted that specific word for the Shibuya-ness of it haha. 粋 (iki, chicness, smartness, fashionableness) isn't hoity-toity enough in Japanese that it'd sound weird coming from Dice's mouth.
[16] Another extremely fascinating concept. This is very, very close to being exactly literal except for the addition of "Help us make this world not a myth" for rhyme (again, the text supports this) and swapping Gentarou's "is ever made fun of" to "is ever treated any worse." for rhyme. I would've preserved Gentarou's concept of being made fun of if it wasn't repeated right below as it feels very deliberate.
[17] More literally, "barabara (scattered, varied) people bundled together." Because I didn't preserve the scattering image earlier, instead focusing on its meaning, I once again prioritized meaning over image here.
[18] There's a "because we're friends" here I wasn't able to fit in, but I also think that's so apparent in the rest of the text (esp. with slight additions like the "friends" in Gentarou's line in 12) that I'm not concerned.
[19] The question of where the roses are being passed to is more nebulous in the source. I see a strong argument for suggesting it's being passed to the future (and there's even a ready rhyme via "posterity") but I'm interpreting this notion of "toward the future" like the characters themselves looking toward the future, striving, always pushing forward. I also see a great argument for it being more open-ended, like a bouquet ready to be passed to anyone who wants to come along and pick it up. I went for "between you and me" both for the rhyme and to suggest some of that openendedness, like it's passing around and around among the listeners and singers. We're all in the bunch of roses today, baby... Yeehaw.

reguarding the trixie mario kart post,
do you have thoughts for the other characters? like mains/ skill level/ play style that kinda thing
love ur posts sm :3
(Naww thank you <33)
Molly
she WILL hit you with that green shell
especially right before the finish line
in fact all that stored up anger makes her incredibly good at sniping people with items
Molly knows about a few shortcuts but doesn't really use them because she's too worried about ruining her race by failing them
mains Toadette (and Isabelle but technically she isn't really a Mario Kart character but I'll ignore it since she's in the game)
her favorite track is Maple Treeway
Phoenica
She's too nice to use the items
actually she doesn't even really RACE at all, because it's irresponsible to drive a vehicle at these speeds
Feenie tries to apply real world driving laws to Mario Kart
it does not go well
there are no laws in Baby Park, only chaos
She loves the Princess drivers the most and adores the Babies
Uses smart steering
ALWAYS picks Daisy Circuit because of the statues of Luigi and Daisy together (she thinks they're very adorable)
Trixie
as said, she mains Drybones
Trixie knows ALL the important game breaking things. Shortcuts, best item spots, what would theoretically be the best combo, you name it
I think they'd prefer the bikes over the karts
favorite tracks are Coconut Mall (the Mario Kart fandom will understand why), Mushroom Gorge and Boo Lake
has to intentionally play bad so people don't stop playing with her at all
if anyone has a perfect rating in all cups at all speeds it's Trixie
Rick
he's terrible
I don't think he has fully figured out how a race works, even though he was told multiple times
this man right here plays as a Mii racer, you can't change my mind
he likes playing together with Phoenica. They don't race, they just drive around the courses and look at the pretty scenery together
if he ever gets any speed item in the item roulette he will cause chaos
probably drives backwards and against walls as we're speaking
Giovanni
the way he plays makes you think he's really bad at hiding that he lets you win
.....oh wait no, he's actually worse than thought-
he's oddly competitive even though his skills aren't the best but will intentionally play even worse when he knows someone is having a bad day
mostly uses King Boo, Waluigi and Birdo
favorite tracks include: Excitebike Arena, 3DS Neo Bowser City, Waluigi Pinball and Choco Mountain
he also has terrible luck in this game
loses most of his good items to shocks or gets hit over and over again
Sylvie
oh PLEASE he's way too adult for childish games like these
if you invite him over he'll spend the entire day infront of this game, experiencing inhuman joy whenever he gets a top spot, but he'll never admit it
Lorelai
I feel like if anyone were to cheat in Mario Kart it would be her
I'm not even sure how but she probably finds a way
actually this game would be terrible for her she will get so frustrated over this
she sometimes uses tracks like the Rainbow Roads, Rosalina's Ice World and Sky-High Sundae as inspirations for her Dream Bubbles
most likely likes Rosalina and Daisy the most
Zora
she will make your life a living hell here
sometimes she doesn't even drive she just...waits at the line with items....ready to ruin your entire game
she could totally win if she wanted to but she'd have fun in just targeting some player

Helluva Boss Tickle Headcannons
Have some headcannons because I'm bored Blitzo -DEVIOUS LER -Main targets are Moxxie and Fizz (after they made up) -If he’s in a ler mood you need to RUN (luckily it doesn’t happen often) -Loves to chase -Loves to sneak up on Moxxie and tickle him while claiming it’s “just a hug, what’s so funny?” -Favorite teases have to do with his lee’s laugh/reactions -”Oh, is this a bad spot? Too bad!” -Very giggly lee -Has a very giggly and bubbly laugh when tickled, a big contrast to his usual snarky and sarcastic cackles -Main lers are Stolas, Moxxie and Fizz -Favorite ler is Moxxie but won’t admit it to save his life -Will never outright say he’s in a lee mood, but if you know him well enough you can tell -He’ll lay across a ler’s lap with his shirt slightly exposing his tummy -Or he’ll instigate a tickle fight just to have someone get revenge -Worst spot is his knees, he’ll go into hysterics if they’re squeezed -Can say the word but it’s embarrassing so he’d rather not Stolas -Very teasy ler -My man has feathers all over him you think he’s not going to use them to torture his lee? -Main targets are Blitzo and Octavia -Gets his target into a lee mood then makes them ask for it  -”I don’t know what you want, darling, you’ll have to tell me~” -Only tickles Octavia with consent, Blitzo isn’t so lucky (not that he minds) -Isn’t ticklish, much to Blitzo’s disappointment. Millie -Absolutely loves to tickle Moxxie when he’s upset or stressed out -Loves to tease -Flusters the hell out of Moxxie and enjoys every minute of it -Likes to point out how flustered he gets around the word -”Awww, hun, it’s just a word! Tickle tickle tickle! Awwwww look at that blush!” -Loves to give raspberries -Not very ticklish but her neck gets a few giggles out of her -Moxxie is the only person who can tickle her without getting hurt Moxxie -Very rare for him to ler -Mainly only ler to Millie and Blitzo if he’s being extra annoying or upset -Can’t say the word even when he’s ler -THE BIGGEST LEE IN HELL OMG -The cutest laugh in history -Main lers are Millie and Blitzo -Favorite ler is Millie -Cannot ask for tickles to save his life -Cannot handle teasing but loves it at the same time -THE CUTEST LIL SNORTS IF YOU GET HIM GOOD AGHHHH -Worst spot is his tummy but he’s ticklish basically everywhere -Won’t ask his ler to stop until he literally can’t breathe and has to tap out -Can you tell who my favorite character is? Octavia -Cannot ler to save her life -Main lers are Stolas and Loona -Hates her laugh but her ler will reassure her it’s adorable -Blushes very easily -Worst spot is her tummy -Raspberries will send her into hysterics Loona -Octavia’s favorite ler -100% tickles Octavia when she’s sad or particularly angsty -Big fan of using raspberries -Not really fond of babytalk but she will tease the living shit out of her lee -”Oh wow, I never knew someone could be this ticklish, how do you survive?” -Not ticklish anywhere except behind her ears -Blitzo is the only one who knows this
Asmodeus -OMG THIS MAN IS A LER 100% -Only to Fizz though -Loves to use petnames in his teases -”Aww~ Is my little fizzy frog ticklish here?” -Gentle tickles, then big raspberries out of nowhere just to throw his lee off their game -THE KING OF BABYTALK OMGGG -He’s a rooster and 100% uses his feathers to his advantage -Bigger and stronger than Fizz so pinning him is super easy -As soon as his lee says anything close to stop he’s cuddling them and asking is he went too far -Only ticklish on his hips -May or may not have accidentally hit Fizz the first time he was tickled -IMMEDIATELY APOLOGIZED AFTER BECAUSE HE WILL NOT HURT HIS FIZZY FROG -Doesn’t particularly like being tickled but he loves everything Fizz does so he enjoys it nonetheless Fizzarolli -Crazy ler -100% uses his robot arms to pin his lee -Main target is Blitzo but if he’s feeling brave he’ll go for Asmodeus -Definitely has been kicked in the face before by a certain imp -Lovesssss to tease and babytalk his lee -”Aww~ Is the wittle baby too tickwish? Can he not handle the tickle tickle tickles?” -Second place to Moxxie for cutest lee -Main lers are Asmodeus and Blitzo -Ticklish literally everywhere but his worst spot is his spine and upper back -CANNOT HANDLE BACK/SHOULDER MASSAGES -Asmodeus found out he was ticklish after offering to give him a massage after a hard day -Blushy and giggly lee -Like all you have to do is wiggle your fingers in his direction and he’s blushing and giggling up a storm -100% will retaliate and get revenge tenfold -Use his own teases against him and he will die -Tell him how much it’s gonna tickle and he will also die Did I forget someone? Probably. I’m tired.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - Sky Breaker: WARNING: SPOILERS!!!
1. Getting to run alongside the Zakru on Pa'li was the bomb. My GOD! THEY ARE MASSIVE!!
Tumblr media
2. My son has made friends 💙 he's even hanging with Nopsi (a zakru!!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nopsi loves him!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. My favourite old ladies are back!! (Love Nafiki calling Anufi darling!): side note, I ship it!
Tumblr media
4. Ri'nela really coming into the Storyteller part of being Sarentu!
Tumblr media
5. Mokasa's back. And he still has the balls to play victim here. Tried coming at Alma and throwing my mother's name in my face as if he wasn't the reason Alma even knew about them in the first place. Ugh! This bitch!
6. Oh don't mind me, just admiring my giant babies as I make them feel pretty💙
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. It's offical guys. Teylan is our little Anti-Gremlin 💙
Tumblr media
(Dammit, no more photos!!)
8. The Games were so fun!! My favorite's the horseback archery challenge! And how does Eetu get to places so quickly!?!🤣
9. Teylan rode a pa'li. The both of them were terrified 😂 don't worry buddy, you'll get there!
10. The RDA are back, they seem to be taking special interest in Anufi and Alma. Guess they're not happy she's back in the driver seat as the Kame'tire's leader.
11. Was not expecting us to be knocked out for several days. Thankfully, it seems the core cast is okay. Mokasa is shooketh over Alma pulling him out of the rubble. Still a dick though.
12. They literally made a Valkyrie crash just to take out as many Na'vi as possible. Assholes.
The poor Zakru were either killed in the blast or fled in the chaos, Nesim is furious (rightfully so) and Harding's back.
13. Anufi and Alma have been kidnapped and Teylan confirmed that the brainscap machine could give someone brain damage and kill em, basically meaning that Spider could have literally died hadn't Quaritch pulled him out.
14. Was freaking out so bad during the NeroSect bit that I only got Alma out by 20 secs. And Harding was drowning Anufi in oxygen!?! WTF!!!
Also, Mokasa came in clutch, saving us at the last minute! But he got shot. Yikes.
15. Okay, maybe I get why people felt Harding's death was lackluster, but it certainly wasn't easy, so I don't know what people were talking about there.
But maybe just a cutscene of her crawling toward us with a pistol to give us that final farewell would be notch.
16. Mokasa finally takes responsibility for his actions toward the Sarentu and the Kame'tire and even has a moment of understanding with Alma. He rests with Eywa now.
17. It's over now. All those that remained of TAP are gone, so all that's left is the Secret of the Spires, DLC. And it makes me wonder who that have planned for the big bad. Surely Nor is gonna make a return, but I doubt he is gonna be the bad guy.
Pros; loved everything.
The new legendary tier weapons and gear, the development of the characters (my baby boy Teylan has grown so much) the colours of the Heartlands animals was stunning (pa'li could have been better) and the upgrade skills bonus was a clever way to spend the points you keep racking up (though that stops when you spend a final 5 points every skill bubble)
Cons; Glitches
There were a lot more glitches this time around. First, one of the Contributions Baskets isn't working and it's ironically the main camp one. I've given it like 20 seeds already and still nothing.
And then there was a tremor machine that was freaking out one of the runaway Zakru, but when I went to hack it to turn it off, nothing happened? Only when I blew it up with a grenade arrow did it work. Or maybe that was just me being a stup 😋
Either way, I loved everything about this DLC, glitches aside and it was a good addition to the Sarentu story and I can't wait to see what happens next.
And I'm almost finished with my Sarentu OC, so stay tuned for that. Buh-bye!!

Tumblr media
Character: Bucky Barnes x Farmer!Reader

Thank you to anyone who gave a like, reblog, and left a comment. It motivated me to write more.
Chapters: Chp 1, Chp 2, Chp 3 , Chp 4 , Chp 5 , Chp 6 , Chp 7 , Chp 8 , Chp 9 , Chp 10 , Chp 11 , Chp 12.
Tumblr media
As harvesting season arrived, the farm became a bustling hive of activity. Y/N took it upon herself to teach Bucky how to harvest various crops—barley, potatoes, and corn. Bucky, unfamiliar with the manual labor involved, struggled under Y/N's watchful eye.
Y/N, with her deep understanding of farming, didn't hold back. She pushed Bucky to his limits, demonstrating the relentless nature of the work.
Bucky swung the sickle in an awkward arc, nearly tripping over a clump of harvested barley. Y/N, standing nearby, couldn't hold back a chuckle. "Easy there, Bucky. The crops are the enemies, not your feet."
Bucky shot her a mock glare. "Well, someone needs to tell these crops that I'm in charge now."
Y/N smirked, "I think the crops are winning this battle." She gestured towards a particularly rebellious potato that had rolled away from Bucky. "That one looks like it's staging a great escape."
Bucky lunged after the rogue potato, and in his pursuit, he accidentally knocked over a pile of harvested corn. Y/N raised an eyebrow, "Careful, Bucky. We're not going for crop domination here."
Bucky huffed, "Who knew vegetables could be so cunning?"
Y/N teased, "You've never been outsmarted by a carrot before?"
Now attempting to corral the runaway potato, Bucky grinned, "Not until today, apparently."
Together, they loaded the truck with the harvested crops, and Y/N took Bucky to the factory to sell his produce.
Bucky, gazing at the neatly packed crates, felt a mix of accomplishment and sadness. "I can't believe I did this," he muttered, pride evident in his voice.
Y/N, steering the truck, acknowledged, "You've come a long way. But remember, this is just the beginning."
Arriving at the factory, Bucky's excitement was tempered by the impending debt repayment. "It's hard seeing the money go as quickly as it comes," he confessed.
Y/N, empathizing with his concerns, added, "Farm life is a constant juggle. It's not just about growing crops; it's managing the business too."
Seeing the exhaustion on Bucky's face, Y/N decided it was time for a break. Wanting to lift his spirits, she proposed, "How about we take a break from farming? I'll teach you how to ride Alpine. It's a good skill for handling the cows and sheep."
Bucky, eager for a change of pace, agreed. "Sure, I've ridden horses before, but handling other animals seems like a different ball game."
Y/N smirked, "Well, let's make it interesting. How about a little race? You and me."
Bucky's eyes lit up with excitement. "Now, that's something I can get behind. You're on!"
Then both of them heard a female voice "Bucky."
Both of them turn around. Bucky shock seeing his crush Kate is standing behind the gate.
Kate, the supermodel, stood at the gate, casting an unexpected shadow on the carefree atmosphere of the race. Bucky's initial thrill turned into visible tension as he hastily fixed his hair and adjusted his clothes.
Y/N, sensing the shift in mood, couldn't help but feel a twinge of irritation at Bucky's sudden self-consciousness.
Feeling a surge of discomfort, Y/N excused herself, leaving Bucky to face Kate on his own. As she walked away, she couldn't shake the inexplicable irritation bubbling within her.
Kate's charming smile, as she approached Bucky, masked the intricate calculations whirring in her mind. She had been privy to Bucky's infatuation with her before he vanished from the social scene.
Recognizing the potential benefits of a connection with the heir to one of the largest companies in the US, Kate played the game, letting him believe she was unattainable.
However, her carefully laid plans crumbled when Bucky disappeared without a trace. Undeterred, Kate used her resources and connections to track him down, eventually learning about his new life through his friend Steve.
Adjusting her strategy, she decided to cast aside the hard-to-get persona and adopt the role of a supportive friend.
Behind her friendly demeanor and supportive gestures, Kate's mind worked strategically. She aimed not only to rekindle a connection with Bucky but also to seamlessly transition into the role of his girlfriend.
Her calculated moves were a testament to her determination to secure a position in Bucky's life, now that he had resurfaced.
Bucky, taken aback by Kate's unexpected appearance, tried to compose himself. "Oh, hey, Kate. It's been a while, huh?"
Kate, wearing an expression of concern, responded, "Yeah, I was getting a bit worried. You vanished from the scene, and no one knew where you went. Are you okay?"
Bucky, feeling a bit flustered, scratched the back of his head, "Yeah, I'm good. Just needed a break, you know?"
Kate's eyes widened with faux surprise, "A break? I thought something serious happened. Steve made it sound like you went off the grid or something."
Bucky chuckled nervously, "Well, I guess I did, but it's been refreshing. Found a new way of life."
As Kate admired the farm's vast fields and rustic charm, Bucky tried to conceal the fact that this wasn't exactly what Kate had envisioned.
Nevertheless, he maintained a friendly demeanor, "It's a simple life, but it's peaceful. I find it relaxing."
Kate, looking around, hesitated before offering a diplomatic compliment, "Oh, yes, it's... quaint. I can see the appeal of a different pace."
Feeling proud of his newfound lifestyle, Bucky suggested, "Wanna ride Alpine and check out the animals?"
Kate agreed, trying to mask her reluctance. However, her expensive skirt wasn't the most practical choice for a farm adventure. When she realized the potential damage, regret flickered across her face.
Kate gracefully mounted Alpine, trying to maintain her composed demeanor. However, the unfamiliar scent surrounding Bucky caught her off guard.
His essence, now marked by the unmistakable fragrance of sweat and farm work, starkly contrasted to the polished and perfumed Bucky she had known.
As they rode through the fields, Kate discreetly held her breath, attempting to mask her discomfort. The rural aroma infiltrated her senses, making her regret joining Bucky on this rustic adventure.
She couldn't help but long for the lavish events and pristine environments where she and Bucky had previously crossed paths.
Suppressing her unease, Kate smiled and engaged in small talk with Bucky. Deep down, she calculated each word and gesture, determined to leave a lasting impression on the heir to the Barnes empire. Her plan to become the next Mrs. Barnes depended on it.
Amidst the forced smiles, Kate's mind raced. 'This wasn't what I signed up for. I envisioned a glamorous romance, not riding through dirt and sweat. But he's the Barnes heir, and I need to adapt.'
Arriving at Bucky's house, Kate's expectations collide with reality. The modest farmhouse stood as a testament to the simplicity of farm life. She couldn't help but wonder why Bucky, supposedly owning half the land, lived in such humble quarters.
If Bucky turned his head, he might have noticed the subtle surprise on Kate's face, mirroring his initial reaction to the farm.
Bucky, unaware of Kate's inner thoughts, proudly led her towards the house. "Here we are. Welcome to my little haven."
Kate, trying to maintain her composure, forced a smile. "It's... quaint."
Bucky, catching a glimpse of her expression, hesitated for a moment but quickly brushed it off. "Yeah, it's not the Ritz-Carlton, but it has its charm."
As they entered the house, Kate continued to assess her surroundings, her city-girl expectations clashing with the rural reality. Still excited to show her around, Bucky remained oblivious to Kate's growing disappointment.

Y/N, engrossed in her tasks, huffed as she distributed hay to her horse. Toby, stopping by with honey from his grandparents, handed it to Y/N, who promptly thanked him and handed over the payment.
Toby, curious, mentioned seeing Bucky with a famous model named Kate Hasting. Y/N, unfamiliar with Kate due to her lack of social media presence, tilted her head in confusion. Toby, enthusiastic, informed her about Kate's status as an 'It girl.'
Y/N, intrigued, stopped her work and focused on Toby. "Hasting?" she queried, contemplating the revelation.
Toby nodded, "Yeah, that's the one."
"Hmm, interesting," Y/N murmured, her curiosity piqued.
Noticing Y/N's interest, Toby continued, "Yeah, she's a big deal on social media right now."
Y/N, still puzzled, questioned, "Why is she looking for Bucky?"
Toby shrugged, "No idea. Maybe she likes him or something."
Y/N, maintaining her nonchalant demeanor, Y/N responded, "Well, that's his business, not mine."
Toby chuckled, "True, but it's kinda exciting, don't you think? The city coming to our little farm."
Y/N smirked, "Exciting or not, I've got work to do. Thanks for the honey, Toby."
Toby waved as he left, leaving Y/N to ponder the unexpected arrival of a city celebrity to their rural haven.

Note
As storytellers, there are so many pieces of our craft and I'm curious how you would rank each step of the process. Rank each of the following on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 lowest, 5 highest):
Setting up the scene (building sets, decorating, etc),
Posing the sims (creating / find poses, and setting up the sims),
Styling the sims (cc hunting, time spent in cas),
Writing the dialogue/story,
Editing the photos.
Send to three other story simblrs and get to know more about each others favorite and least favorite part of this crazy process!
Thank you Cici, @deardiaryts4, and @changingplumbob for sending this to me 💗
1 Posing the sims (creating / find poses, and setting up the sims)
I don't hate posing so much anymore, especially with the searchable pose player! What a godsend. I'm a lot quicker at it now, and I'm pretty good at using poses for situations they weren't created for. Like if a pose doesn’t have the right facial expression but everything else looks good, I just won’t show the face. Or I'll mix and match poses from different pose packs. However, I'll try to use the game animations as much as possible. They usually give me ideas for dialogue.
2 Setting up the scene (building sets, decorating, etc.)
I don't build, it's not my thing whatsoever. I find it tedious, so I'm forever grateful to all the amazing builders out there. However, I do enjoy decorating! I don't decorate everything you see, especially if it's a place you only see once, but here are some sets I'm pretty proud of:

3 Editing the photos
I don't have it in me to go all out with the lighting and such. I’m pretty satisfied with the reshade preset I use and the minimal editing I do on Canva. However, I do find my editing process therapeutic. It's where the magic happens because that’s also where I write.
Additionally, I really like the little moodlets and manga bubbles I made for my gameplay-focused posts. They add fun pops of color :> Speaking of which, I'll do slight color editing, too. Like Generation One had a lot of yellows and oranges. Generation Two has more purples and blues.
4 Styling the sims (cc hunting, time spent in cas)
I love CC and styling my sims! I won't take screenshots if the sims aren't in outfits I approve of, lol. I spend a lot of time in CAS creating the right wardrobes for my main and supporting characters. I need their personalities to show through their clothing and accessories. I talk more about my CAS style in this post.
5 Writing the dialogue/story
I’m always thinking about the story, and I love it! Not including the writer’s block I got before my last break, I’d say about 70% of the story comes to me naturally. Doing research can be fun. Dialogue doesn’t come to me as easily. That’s a battle 😅
I have a “brain dump” section on Notion to jot my ideas down. I also use a chart on Notion to plan out my posts and write the general ideas for the scripts. On Canva I finalize everything, which I call the “polishing process.” That can take a few days, but it's beautiful when it comes together. I sit there admiring my work, haha
