Its a personal headcanon of mine that over the years as the 3 pony races grew more distant, their looks would differ drastically further cementing the rift between the three races. Unicorns are taller, Earth ponies become sturdier, and pegasus wingy-ier

My Little Pony and Friends
What if instead of Gen 5 being about different kinds of ponies getting along and making the society of Gen 4 feels regressive by proxy, it was about Sunny having to make friends and peace with NON unicorns, earth or pegasus ponies?
What if Gen 5 was a soft revitalizing of the gen 1 "My Little Pony friends" line and also a send up of Gen 4's pony-only privilege problems? Guardians of Harmony and the dedication FiM's child and adult fanbases should be proof enough that non-pony characters have pull.
Also I redrew it with the Gen 4 style cuz I like Gen 4's style fine and Gen 5's is legit hard to look at. Seriously Gen 5's writing is okay but it's art is like if Hasbro took all the worst aspects of MLP redesigns and said "yes use them all. Especially the overcomplicated colors and human-ponie faces".
