Seriously, I remember it very well. People thought Gaga was an idiot. Everything she did was considered a stunt for attention. And some of it was! Remember when she went around with a fake British accent and carried teacups and saucers into interviews? She was not taken seriously at all and her fans were considered stupid for thinking she had talent or skill, and for thinking she had anything meaningful to say politically or personally. People were saying "she didn't need to do all of that" about that Paparazzi performance that Tumblr now loves. She was considered overdone, overplayed, shallow, and hacky. I was there when the deep magic was written etc I remember all this especially bc I was 13-14 when The Fame dropped and my feewings were very sensitive due to being a fat gay teen.

Something that is So Bothersome to me about the defending eating meat is people who dress it up as protecting the hunting/fishing/sustenance rights of indigenous people. Like man I do not think you buying factory farmed cow meat from the grocery store has anything to do with the rights of indigenous people. And like. I don’t know anything about the land hunting stuff but the biggest threat to the indigenous capacity to fish is commercial fishing and energy projects damaging the renewability and health of oceans rivers and lakes. Not some random people who are applying their principles of caring about the earth and animals by being vegan or vegetarian 🤔🤔🤔
