In a recent interview with Tidal’s Elliot Wilson, The Doggfather revealed that Roc Nation owner and successful hip-hop entrepreneur Jay-Z was ready to end his business relationship with the NFL if they objected to certain aspects of the Super Bowl LVI halftime performance that featured Snoop, Dr. Dre, Anderson.Paak, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent. Rumors came out that the NFL didn’t want Snoop’s gang affiliation to be acknowledged during his performance (He typically “crip-walks” during his shows). In deep admiration for his East Coast rapping friend, Snoop tells Wilson how appreciative he was for Jay-Z going to bat for the performers, threatening to quit if they weren’t able to perform in the manner they wanted to.

Dr. Dre Working With EPMD’s Erick Sermon For First Time In Their 30-Year Friendship Dr.Dre has crossed some major milestones most people only dream of just three months in to 2022. On February 13, the Beats By Dre mogul joined Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and surprise guest 50 Cent for the historic Pepsi Halftime Show at Super Bowl LVI, the most Hip Hop-centric show in halftime history. The 57-year-old legend is also legally single after divorcing his wife of 24 years, Nicole Young, allowing him to move forward in his personal life. Needless to say, this is another chapter for Dr. Dre and fans might finally, finally get their hands on new material soon. EPMD’s Erick Sermon — also known as the Green-Eyed Bandit — shared an Instagram post of himself in the studio with the prolific producer and announced they’d been working on music together for the first time in their three decades-plus friendship. As noted in the caption, Sermon said at least one of the songs would be for his forthcoming project, Dynamic Duos.  “I got to L.A a day before the #superbowl ..then 2 days after that was his bday…after that .. the #sagacontinues,” he wrote. “We worked on my new project #DYNAMICDUOS … the next day he called @snoopdogg we made something epic for him .. then we made something for him after. I think lol. Then he says Erick .. that’s 3. What’s next ? GOD doesn’t make mistakes.”

Erick Sermon then expressed his gratitude for the ability to even link with Dr.Dre and admitted he’d been struggling with his mental health while tagging Saweetie, producer Focus… and several others in the post.

“Thanks for the opportunity,” he continued. “We were friends for over 30 and never worked together.. a lot of ppl has been waiting on this to happen. Well .. here it is. My mental health has been a factor for awhile .. thank u @drdre for changing that. #beautiful blessings.” EPMD rose to Hip Hop notoriety in the late ’80s and early ’90s when they dropped classics such as “Please Listen To My Demo” and “You Gots Ta Chill.” More recently, Nas brought Erick Sermon and Parish Smith back together for the King’s Disease ll track “EPMD 2”featuring Eminem, which arrived in August 2021. Parish confessed they didn’t know Eminem was going to be on the song until a week before it dropped, adding they kept it “tight-lipped.” Overall, he thought the song brought the best out of all four MCs. “When you get on a track like that with artists like EPMD and Nas, it goes back to like an MC’s favorite MC — you step it up,” he explained. “I would say in comparison to K-Solo on ‘Knick Knack Patty Wack’ on EPMD’s Unfinished Business. We came in regular mode, we was doing what we do. Zendaya & Labrinth Wrote Dominic Fike's Song in "Euphoria" Season 2 Finale Recently, we caught a glimpse of Zendaya and Labrinth working in a recording studio for the Euphoria soundtrack. We just didn't know what they'd be cooking up. They created the musical masterpiece, "All for Us" for the season 1 finale of the HBO show. It totally makes sense that they'd create more magic for season 2. Labrinth made a cameo during the funeral scene in episode 4 to perform "I'm Tired" — another Zendaya collaboration that's available to listen to in streaming platforms — we were left wondering what else he might have in store for the season 2 soundtrack. Musician Dominic Fike also joined Euphoria as Rue and Jules' new friend. Elliot, so we were bound to receive a song or two since his character also has musical talents.

In the season 2 finale, Elliot played a song called "Little Star" for Rue on his guitar. It turns out that Zendaya and Labrinth were the writers behind it IRL.

In a featurette following the season 2 finale, Labrinth opened up about the creative process behind "Little Star." Discussing what it was like working with Z and Dominic. "Me and Zendaya were actually sitting in each other's spiritual energy and space. We're getting to inspire each other to make something fresh," Labrinth said. "Sam just came up to me and said 'Yo, I was thinking you like, play the guitar in this and you sing a song. It's to Rue, but not really about Rue. But it is about Rue, but it's a surreal moment, but it's not,'" Dominic explained in the featurette. Labrinth added that Dominic played guitar on some of the musical scores he had been working on for the show. "The cast are not just acting, they're part of the music now," he said. We watched him grow from a teenager up into an established grown man, a businessman, and one of the greatest artists of all time. So how long do you actually be signed up under somebody? It’s been almost 20 years. So it’s time to move on and try new things and venture out.” He continued, “He’s doing a great job developing Baby Keem. It’s always been there, but now it’s just time and space where he can actually do it. It’s a beautiful thing to watch because that’s something that started with what we built in the beginning. West also shared what seems to be a track listing for Donda 2, the follow-up to 2021's Donda, and continued to talk up the Stem Player in additional Instagram posts, urging his fans to "be a part of the revolution." "I feel that same feeling like when I first moved to New York to make it in music. I ain't know what was gonna happen but I knew had to move. After 10 albums, after being under 10 contracts. I turned down a hundred-million-dollar Apple deal," he wrote in his post, adding, "No one can pay me to be disrespected." He also said Stem Player let him set his own price for his art.
